John Zmirak Reacts to SCOTUS Strike Down of New York Gun Law

"Meer agz. John, today is Friday the 24th of June. And as we're recording this, we don't know whether the Supreme Court will release its ruling that effectively ends roe V wade. But we do know that has to happen either today or Monday, I think. Yeah, they certainly have the tortured us with suspense, but yesterday they issued a decision, which is every bit as important. Yesterday, and I would say every bit as pro life. Yesterday, the Supreme Court said that the constitution means what it says in the Second Amendment. My hope is that today they're going to say the constitution doesn't mean what it doesn't say, which is anything about the right to kill your baby for sexual convenience. But let's look at the first half of that. New York State, where you live, where I used to live, makes it almost impossible to carry a gun from your own self protection. Unless you are friends with the member of the city council or Holly Hollywood star with a second home in New York or a corporate CEO or somebody with political connections or if you're a diamond dealer. Basically, if you don't deal in diamonds or have political connections, you can not carry a gun. So all the people who live in crime red neighborhoods in New York are out of luck. At best, when they need help in two minutes, the police will be there in ten minutes. And we'll draw a nice chalk circle around their body. This is not consistent with an important document that a lot of liberals don't know about called the United States Constitution

Unpacking the Death of Roe v. Wade With Lila Rose

"In a country where they were told roe versus wade can't be challenged and they made a career and they made a movement and they really focused on changing hearts and minds. And one of those people, I believe one of the most articulate pro life voices on the planet is Lila rose from live action who I am honored to have with us today to celebrate this ruling Lila. Welcome back to the program. Thanks, Charlie. What a day. What a morning. It's incredible. So what's your initial reaction? And you've been in this pro life fight for quite some time. Speak a little bit to some of the kind of embedded cynicism that you probably encountered a decade or so ago where people said roe versus wade could never be repealed. Don't waste your time. Your thoughts. I mean, I've been involved in this movement for almost a decade and a half since I was a teenager. My entire adult team life and yeah, when I first got started, you know, now live actions of global leader for education and we're working in every state in the country. When I first got started, there were amazing people in the project movement had gone before who trailblazed, but there was pessimism. There was this idea that we are not going to ever really make it. You know, we got to fight the good fight, but America is so pro abortion that we can't really win. We can't win. And we are one huge step closer to winning completely legal protection for the pre born today with the fall of roe V wade. So this is a historic moment. It's cause for celebration. I mean, even today, Charlie, abortion clinics that were scheduled to kill children today are closed now in the state of Missouri. Our closing in the state of Ohio are

Dinesh Answers a Listener Question About January 6th

"Time for our next question, take a listen. Hi dinesh. I have a question I have not heard at rest. Before about the so called January 6th insurrection. Could you disseminate the most extreme outcome? Often the capitol building is equated with democracy. If the rioters had fully taken over, disarmed all the security and taken every one hostage, what would have happened would all 50 states simply have surrendered and a mob would have taken control of the whole country or what could have happened. This is really a tremendous question and it's a tremendous question because it's strikes at the underlying inanity of the claims by many on the left. Democrats, the January 6th committee, that this was an attempt to take over of the government. And really what the question is doing is saying, well, let's see. Let's see. Would the government actually have been taken over, true, the capitol building is the place where Congress meets. It is the venue for you may say, conducting the legislative business of government. But nevertheless, let's say that there is a successful capital occupation. And by the way, you can make the point even clearer by ignoring January 6th, and imagining an occupation of the capital by the left or by the right. So let's say, for example, the Supreme Court issues a decision, striking down roe versus wade. And a bunch of left wing activists go into the capitol, they occupy the capital, they make everybody leave, they have, quote, taken over the capital. And the question is, have they taken over the U.S. government? Are they now in charge of the United States? Are they going to be appointing ambassadors, concluding treaties? Are they going to be running the United States and would the rest of the country go? Well, you know what? We've got some new rulers in America and they're not the congressmen we elected they're not the senators we elected. There's this, there's this bunch of goons that went in there and are basically now declaring themselves to be in charge. Well, that's ridiculous. That is absurd. If these guys occupied the capitol in relatively short order, there would be a police regiment that would surround the capitol and put on some bullhorns and say, guys, peacefully leave the building right now. And of course, upon leaving, they would be put into handcuffs and arrested. Or we are going to have S.W.A.T. teams storm the building, and if you offer forceful resistance, you are likely to be killed.

"So it comes my turn to talk about it and I know that FDA and jewel are on the agenda cut number 24 Jacob, please. I don't hear anything from the administration about fentanyl. And those numbers are through the roof. It's a tomb and the fentanyl that all of us agree is the number one part of the border crisis is what we have to be focused on to kill the 107,000 American last year. It is a wide open border. I know you wanted to talk about the FDA and Joel. And I have to say, why are we focusing part of the federal government? The FDA on regulating jewel when we can't regulate the border. Why do we assume the federal government can do anything when it can't do the first thing, which is to control the border. As Molly said, the cartels control the border, not that. And administration, so why would we trust the FDA, which had a very bad year anyway in the course of COVID? They blew the Johnson & Johnson pause. They blew in fact, they blew a lot of the Abbott laboratory process. They do not have a great reputation right now and they're shutting down jewel. I'm not a fan of Joel. Why in the world would we trust them when the government can't do anything on its number one job?

Doug Takes a Deep Dive Into Gun Legislation

"Today, I want to, this is a timely issue, and I wanted to go ahead and discuss this because it's just something disturbing issues that are coming out. And it's going to happen very fast. This is what happens in Washington, D.C.. When circumstances in the world meet the emotional response of people and the fact that they need to do something. We talk about this a week or two ago on the podcast. When I talk about what makes you feel good doesn't always heal you. And it's talking about an honest discussion about guns. We're going to have another honest discussion this morning about the fact that what happened and you vote text is what happened at that school. Is a tragedy? What happened at school should have never happened in many ways when you had someone who decided to go into a school to use a gun and to kill people. I mean, that is was the choice that this Ramos made. He made the choice to go in there. He made the choice to kill people. He used a gun in the process. We've talked about how the many aspects of what is being proposed will not solve this, but again, as I said just a little bit ago in one of the other podcasts, was it always seems to be the very first thing that we do is to solve something is take something away from legal gun owners or legal possession to fix something that, frankly, is not going to fix.

If Roe Is Reversed, Churches May Be Targeted for Violence

"Actually talking to a couple of pastors the other day just in passing. And I said, so are you guys concerned? And they are. I mean, there are pastors that are very concerned that if the ruling comes down and roe V wade is overturned, that their churches could be targeted. And so but they've got security, you know, things in place and you already need to have that anyway. Yeah. Most larger churches do anyway. That's true. So they can take you down and if you're going to try to do something, they will dispatch to Jesus. And then he can take care of it from there. So anyway, I think there is a, I don't think they're scared. I think it's just a general concern because, I mean, we have seen, I mean, we've seen what happened, what's been happening with the firebombing of the pro life centers, the churches that have been vandalized. I think we could see churches firebombed. I think we could do. I think anything is possible. Absolutely. I mean, keep in mind, these are people that want to kill unborn babies. Yes. And they want to sell off their body parts. This is what Planned Parenthood does. So we're dealing with people who do not value life in the first place. And going back to the churches, that's another reason I don't want it done close to the weekend because I think church is so fit to release tomorrow. I think churches on Sunday morning would be a really big target.

Los Angeles District Attorney Faces Recall Effort

"The district attorney of Los Angeles, George gascon, is facing a recall, much in the same way that the San Francisco DA chesa boudin faced or recall and was in fact unceremoniously recalled and tossed out. Now gascon is basically a clone of boudin. This guy is a complete loser, he is a DA on the side of the criminals, this is a guy who has been battering and weakening, not just the police force, but the prosecutorial force in LA, crime rates have soared in LA. I mean, they've soared another parts of the country too, but more in LA, more in California, more in San Francisco. So gascon and budin are symbols of the worst. Of democratic kind of crime fighting policy. And I want to talk about a specific case a case involving a really bad guy criminal named Justin Flores. So this guy Justin Flores is now accused of fatally shooting to El Monte police department, well, a Corporal and an officer, Michael parades and Joseph Santana. Here's a guy who was facing serious felony charges. And gascon led him out, put him on probation. And this has been by and large the gas on strategy. It's essentially to take criminals who are in a serious, who should be incarcerated, and let them loose, put them on probation. And what is this guy doing? He gets into a domestic dispute that police get reports of a possible stabbing. They show up at the scene, a shootout occurs, and vote the officers are killed.

Earthquake Kills More Than 1,000 People in Eastern Afghanistan

"Afghanistan isn't the biggest story of the day in terms of actual human impact is the massive earthquake that hit along the Pakistan border within Afghanistan, Paktika is the province in which it struck in more than a thousand are dead and the rule of 5 applies with every third world country, which is when they say a thousand people are dead, you can multiply that by 5 and you've begun to get the estimate. It's a pretty devastating earthquake. Your prayers and your donations will be solicited. National security adviser, Jake Sullivan, said in a statement the United States will be providing humanitarian aid, of course we will. We always do. Those poor people though are going to be at the mercy of the Taliban ministry of disasters or whatever they call it, they're not particularly good at this. "killing" Discussed on Red, Blue, and Brady

"Right. But I mean, even when he's walking, you talk at one point about him walking around the house saying that there's an intruder in the house to just sort of Rambo and around corners. That can be a sort of, it's not pure violence, but I think it implies a threat there, right? It does. I have this. I have this training, right? So there were a few things with the guns. He knew I wasn't comfortable with them, but what he would do was take them out and line them up on the bed and clean them. I'm putting air quotes clean them in front of me. And pick them up and play with the laser on the wall and laugh, and he would he had fun knowing that I was uncomfortable. And like, oh, you're just, you're overreacting. You're just too emotional about this. And that kind of stuff. The other thing was that he, I remember clearly one time he claimed that he had heard something in an intruder was in the house and he grabbed the shotgun from under the bed and proceeded to sweep the house. So he went all through the house like Rambo with it pointed and I have a three and a half year old son who was sleeping, you know? It was really, it was really odd and scary and that was early on, but I looked at it as he was protecting us. I wasn't, I didn't see that as a threat, but it was behavior that I had never seen before. So there were, yeah, there were multiple incidents like that. Yeah, it seems like in the book that there's this sort of concept of pushing a boundaries while at the same time being very cruel to you. I'm like on an emotional level with this threat of this gun sound in the background. Right, and that's the hardest part to explain, honestly, are the red flags because he was so subtle and it was all so insidious over time that by the time I realized that I was not safe, I was so deep into it. We were married. I had, I mean, William was two by the time I really realized that this was not a safe person. Brand new house, all new cars. I had this whole life that was established. We had moved. So a lot of the red flags from early on, you can write off to, first of all, lack of knowledge. I didn't grow up knowing that somebody trying to control you and have power over you is abuse. It was if a guy hits you, that's bad. It was literally. It's physical, but I didn't know about emotional. I didn't know. It's psychological. If he tells you to get plastic surgery or he tells you this stuff or it's all these mind games and it's just chipping away at who you are over time. I've always been a very strong outspoken opinionated woman. Wicked smart. You'd been a writer for a really professional college degree, everything..

Like don't read on the car. Don't anywhere near the car so years later. He was storing car in my garage. And this is when. I was in college and it was like a sorority house. Kind of like not really the it was. We thought it was a sorority house. We pretended it was already house. They're like eight living in this house. so i have been kind of edging on getting ready to hook up with this guy for like a week and we're all out in the garage. Having a little get together away car everybody laughs and he and i were last Ourselves and it was kind of one of those moments where a lock eyes and realized that it was.

"You police by nature our fraternity right. It's a brotherhood and and as I see it with these guys did a circle the wagons and they protected their own and they fought viciously to protect their their own. The reputation and I don't agree with that. I would like to think if I was in their shoes I would have realized that I was outgunned. And you didn't have the experience to dissolve this and the reach out for help in nineteen ninety seven with their case floundering older PD brought in legendary retired. Detective Lou Smit who with hundreds of successful homicide investigations under his belt was seen as is the man to finally cracked the case. A year later he was forced to resign again. After presenting to the Department is absolute conviction that an intruder intruder was responsible for jonbenet's murder undeterred. He continued to work the case on his own steam until his death nine years ago. Did you ever get to meet loose-knit I did a couple times. The first time I met loose-knit they brought me in or asked to talk it to me about what you said. What do you know about stun-guns? I don't know anything about stun guns. You know and I to be frank at the time time. I was pretty distrustful and editor towards the police account lump Lou into that collective but yeah over time it learning of his reputation and it just seems work. You know that a man of integrity would just follow the truth. I mean that's hard to do in that environment where there's a lot out of public pressure. Everything was being leaked to the media. Andrew Ramsay are determined determined to pick up with detective. loose-knit could not finish it. Used to be what I'd wake up in the morning had to get up up quick because I lay in bed. Start thinking that was tough to start your day. That way better yet reminded. No I have pictures of Jon Benet and and Beth. My other daughter on my desk came sometimes. Look that makes both happy and said well you know for so long long. My father's born the brunt of working with the media and putting himself out there and he's gone to tremendous links that really to protect us kids to the we can have a semblance of normal life. I'm at the same time I've got a vested interest in this. I've got young children myself. My wife has been affected by this murder. And I want the truth. And that's why I'm I'm doing this. I don't have any aspirations beyond just getting to the truth and this is this is a means to an end. As I said we were naive pass. He came from a small town west. Virginia I was born and raised in Lincoln Nebraska. We thought the world was a nice place John Andrew along with sisters Elizabeth and Melinda lived with their mother in Atlanta. Their parents had divorced in nineteen seventy eight and John. John Married Patsy in nineteen. Eighty Burke Ramsey was born in one thousand nine hundred seven and Jon Benet three years later even after John and patsy moved to boulder all all the children remained close. This is John Andrew. My Dad's company merged with two others in the headquarters was in boulder her once Access graphics was sold to Lockheed Martin my dad was promoted to CEO President. In of course steph point made the move to full-time in boulder but coming from Atlanta Boulder was. It was kind of a novelty right until the story of. You've gone out there as a as a seventh grader Meena Buddy. We had our bikes. We could ride our bikes everywhere. I mean this was unthinkable in the sprawl of Atlanta. You walk the places. It was kind of this quaint small town so we thought we didn't pay attention to keep our doors lock. We thought we lived the Nice safe community in one of the things. Police asked me early on. Do you know anybody could have done this. I said I don't know anybody this evil. This is an evil horrible saying that human being into a child. I don't know anybody I've never met anybody. That said Evil John. John Andrew Remembers. Jon Benet some fourteen years his junior as a boisterous fun loving kid. I'm not GonNa say we were best buddies or anything but As I remember being really Tomboy I mean she this older brother Burke who had a bunch of you neighborhood buddies played baseball and whatever sports the day and she just Kinda hung out with them and I really saw her as as a tomboy be yes she was a sweet fun kit at the some of this has been trumped up and really portrayed as overwhelming personality but I guess I don't remember that and I think I there's just genuine this weekend one of the things that I regret big time obviously is that we didn't take our home security more seriously without Linden in a very peaceful AC- Harriet type of community. Our House had alarm system. Stay in the house. We bought it but it was one that put without this excruciating noise and the theory behind that type assists to was it drives you nuts and some as intruder. He just wants to get out of the house as his his ear. Drums are breaking. So we'd never used. Johnny said off one just punching buttons. It was horrible. She said it makes expires loud. That's the idea so we'd ever use it because it was horrible system but on the morning after Christmas nineteen ninety-six. Everything changed our plan that morning. That was get up early. Blind to Minneapolis meet John and my daughter Melinda and they go on up to northern Michigan for like a second Christmas with Miller kiss and then they were going to go back home. And we're going to take Johnny Burke on the Disney cruise so it was the day after Christmas and I had spent Christmas with but my sister Melinda in mother and if Lanna and after was flying to meet my dad passing family. We were GONNA go to Charlotte Michigan time. We'd at home but the plan was to meet any apple's so we were flying Minneapolis Got Off their plane and I can't remember someone handed me a note flight attendant or somebody they pulled me aside and said you need to call call home essentially pay phone and called my dad and he told me that Johnny Been Kidnapped and I think he I essentially we. Just this means that split-second decision why Denver that point after patsy discovered the ransom note claiming Jon Benet had been kidnapped. She called called nine one one. The police responded and so began the initial agonizing. Wait for the family well. I described the feeling to people. It's like when you're in a shopping center and you've got your small child with you and your rookie through clothing and look round gone. He had this desist. Hit My gut like my God. Where's bird or she go? Where did he go a star frantically looking and then you find him over in the next? I'll somewhere minutes later. I had that panic yet in the gut feeling all morning what do I what have I got to do to get her backed. It's cold out there. It's dark and I do whatever I'm capable of doing that we call the police immediately obvious to get her back. That was my the whole focus. What a helpless? I didn't know what to eat. Our can give blocked roads lead. Get pleased at the airport. I but the cops answer here. They know what they're doing. I I don't I don't should be done. But in retrospect they didn't have a clue what they're doing and I should'VE MM-HMM I should've I don't how would escalate it. But I should have called a friend of the governor's office. I should have done something to say. Look we got a major.
