NBA Big Board: Kevin O'Connor

"Kevin O'Connor the ringer housing ranked number one on his big board. I can't find any teams that have in there. But I'd love that Kevin did that I I like thinking outside the box I think he makes some really good arguments about why Hayes. Could be that Guy I. Don't think that we're going to see him go a number one and I'm not sure that we'll see I don't think we'll see him go in the top three, but he's fair game. Pretty much anywhere after that and again much like in tires Halliburton's case it little bit I the beholder. He's got off so many strengths going for him and I the big thing that you hear when you talk. To Scouts about Killian haze over and over again is just they love how much he has improved his game how much he's worked on his game how he shown up and become a much better player over time and when you look at young players, you wanna see them evolving. You WanNa see them growing. You want to see them adding to their game and there's just been so much. Of that for Kilian Hayes this year that if you want to talk yourself into Hayes, you talk yourself into now that he faces NBA level competition. What sort of things and wrinkles is he going to add to his game? How is he going to adapt and how much better could he be down the road because he's got the size excels with a ball in his hands he's. Really committed defender he's got hike. He's a high character player. You know that lack of like elite burst or balance is is an issue He's left hand drama net that's an issue is shooting a looks gray. It doesn't always go in and you know he shot around thirty. Thirty percent from the field from three point on this year. But he was eighty seven percent a free throw shooter I think for. He might not be the first international player off. Off The board? Because I denny Adia is is a possibility to go ahead of him, but he's definitely going to be one of the top two international players off the board and right now having ranked slightly higher than Denny.

Is Mbappe joining Real Madrid?

"A lot of talk about the future Kilian Mbappe a heavily linked once again to Real Madrid. Two main question. Suppose do they want him and coming. They afford him yes they want him yes they believe they can find a way to afford him. The Ramage's position on this in a way has been cleared for very long time. They want to try and create the conditions in which they can make this happen. That obviously involves the Playa. Doing his part on a force out involves draw trying to drive the price down and and they know of course in the shape of parts that they have incredibly difficult advisories. They have an advisory he can decide. The money doesn't matter so this is where the doubts life around Judy's he's about getting him out of Japan because I also believe it's possible that there is a risk that it's not just about the price is about the willingness to sell a any price of if that happens of course they were then have to wait into a point at which the regulations mean the price is set on their behalf. How key in? This is also will the Dan so everything goes wrong for round the next few months Saddam leaves. How much of a play in this to get emba- pay to Madrid? I think he's emotionally a very important player I think he's important in terms of the way the MVP sees it. I think important from Madrid's point of view because he's seen as a link to combat pay impart. That's this is a genuine I think imparts lazy from from everybody's point the what he's French he must be close and so on but there is truth in that that said this goes well beyond that it's strategic I think both from Ramage's point view and while oversee from a from a Spanish perspective. I know this robin less. But reading between the lines appears to be very clear that this is part of Mbappe as long term strategy even if Saddam wasn't there do you think what we're seeing at the moment is patroness start to create something because we've seen the fighting with Toco not once but twice on the touchline when he's been substituted. I don't think he's trying to create something to so that you have the pathway to go to rail Marie and you create a tense environment. I think he's doing it because he doesn't care for Thomas Sue right. I don't think the two do things are connected independent of each other. He's saying I don't respect this manager. I don't respect this guy and a byproduct of that. What is opening a door to remedy it so but I don't I don't see the connection between the two? You know getting substituted used to be a human humiliating experience billions. It used to be as pleasant gotten a lot of software. No it's just a click road but you know what the bottom line is. The best players the biggest players the biggest biggest names they want and be on the field and they won't school. Go on Palliative while you. I'm just looking you already know now. Now's not listened. There's a reason. Poppy is where he is in football today at such a young age he has a huge drive. He's got an EGO. He wants to score goals. He don't want to get shocked to children. We don't we don't see though that age we didn't see that sort of attitude. You saw Aja arguing clearly on the touchline. I don't remember cheat point no good. Aw humiliated now.

"It's a it's really do you know the the French cake the Middle Phay yes. It's it's exactly exactly layers so it's a southern layers of flowers. That's exactly what it is and I think one of the reason it stand out today is because nobody does those big bouquet of flower anymore. We just don't we used to do that in the fifties sixties which has done good at anymore. What are some of the prominent notes a small to absolute from China which is a Jep- a Chinese flower that smells like a Picot inviolate both from cost to jasmine adjustment from India Orange Blossom from Boko Nazis from France interesting tube rose back in there to really really soft though I just sprayed it on because of the cocoon of white mask yeah is really yeah like I can. This is a crowd pleaser for sure. I can see why it's number one now. Let's talk about another one. That's popped off that is more unique. This one is the one that sold out on your website right. Now is sold out in every store window world right now so it's called love. Don't be shy. tell us the story about this well. Actually it's a son that I created twelve years ago so so it was the first sent I lounge in October two thousand and seven. I didn't know that Y- you know that in the perfume world the sweet category as is an important category and I wanted to sweet perfume but I didn't wanNA do perfume that would use the same sweet ingredients as my competitors and every sweet perfume on the market today is based on the same accord used by initial. Why and I said to my perfumer I I want to perfume where you just want to take a bite of the women who having it but don't use the same notes as angel so she was looking at how how can you create something sweet without using the typical sweet note of the Perfume Industry and one day she was doing marshmallow for her kids and she was using over CPA of her grandmother so beginning Nineteen Zero to ninety five and she's looking at the ingredients of the recipe is like actually have of all those ingredients in in in my in my perfumery in my perfume lab. I have all those ingredients so she sent me an accord of Mush Meadow. I thought it was fantastic. Thick and we did a bit of Beathard and back in the days. We used to pull Owenge Wata on the marsh meadow so that's why I love them. Be Shy is over blossom with marsh meadow. Okay and why is it sold out right now. Though famous where there's a big buzz about the in fact reenergize wearing it I feel like it is a bit like any romance and it is a bit of love or hate like I you get that reaction. The second you put on either. You're like falling in love with it or you're just like. It's not for you over eight. I think that's the hallmark of a really good sense. Is that you you have a reaction to it. Are you upset correct. Yeah I mean I think a perfume dot tries to please to. Everyone has no personality. Yes boring exactly yeah. Take arrests actually like like anyone you know. I think you start on a really important. Note there that a lot of the iconic sense and history have taken beg risks you know at the time you know in in the context they were in. They were probably told a lot of times don't do that. Don't do that. No that's not a good idea. They did it anyway anyway. And it became these big success stories love it or low that but are there some icons out there that you can't stand to smell any classics sex that you can't be around for sure. I. I don't want to name them but yes. There's a lot.

"Beauty podcast cast on facebook we share teasers of upcoming guests and polar audience about what you want to hear that actually sort of informed today's episode that's right. We have a founder episode on the Mike. We will have Kilian Hennessy. He launched a line of niche locks fragrances called by Killian Polian back in two thousand and seven and it was recently acquired by estee lauder companies this brand it's all unisex fragrances and it's definitely eh definitely an indie darling. It's really special it. Sense are not shy and it's definitely luxurious and the price points reflect reflect that they ring in around three hundred dollars a bottle up to eight hundred dollars a bottle. There are some travel sizes that you can get in on for a little bit less but this is is definitely luxury yep surf. You're one of those people in our chat room. Who was saying that you wanted more fragrance deliver on the episode? We are delivering today. Hey honey so the tagline of this brand is called perfume as an art and it really holds up to that name because the bottles themselves they are so gorgeous gorgeous also they have these carrying cases that some of the perfumes come in and it's like a clutch that you can reuse and take to a party yeah. There's like tassels on them. YOU WILL WANNA they've been you'll yeah. You'LL WANNA do like an on boxing properly when you get this. This is like such a good gifting fragrance. Yeah that's true yeah so it's been around for a while. I think a lot of beauty editors have known about this line of fragrances but it kind of popped off more online and started making headlines a couple years ago how because apparently Riana. This is one of her favorite fragrances comes from by Kellyanne. It's called love. Don't be shy and that it was really kind of controversial. Because of course she's got her own beauty contract so she's. I'm really supposed to be talking about this so she's not an official spokesperson or anything but you can google it. You'll see yeah and I don't even think that she's been on the record herself say on that. She uses this but I know there's been a lot of interviews. Done and people talk about how good rhianna smells yeah and so somebody on her like an insider. These sense have an addictive quality to them and they are very unique. They are complex ex yeah and the best way possible. It's yes like old school perfumery. It's so true and it's a way to put on throwback to things that are not just like single notes and splashes ashes. These have a depth to them that only like a very keen no his can craft yet and also uh-huh you know what just going back to ran as fragrance for a second like that's a serious gourmand. I mean you smell it and it just it really is like something that you wanna the east or as Kellyanne says it's something you WanNa take a bite out of and that's not something that everybody loves like some people are really turned off. That's okay you know you look get some of the most iconic sense in the world and they took risks like that so I like that Killian is out there doing that now having said that their bestseller color I would say is probably the easiest the entire collection to where it's called good girl gone bad coincidentally not coincidentally the name of reenters album back in two thousand seven but I digress yeah but yeah that's kind of a when you say that's like a lighter. INSA crowd-pleasing white floral very beautiful still complex but much judge Moore easy easier on the nose. I guess more everyday son I'm wearing it right now. It's very beautiful often. The the packaging is obsolete early stunning as well and so killing is going to tell us about more in detail about the notes and what makes that so unique because he's definitely after crafting these very original fragrances the brand is also launching a brand new sent in is. I think it's already online right now but it's rolling into stores. Ores in October is called rolling in love and it's a complete departure. He says from anything that the brand has put out so far which I think is upwards of thirty five percents now yeah and it's all red. It's very bold very striking. You went to the launch. I did and everybody was wearing red. Of course I couldn't get my shit together to like live up to the dress code of red cocktail attire. I'm wearing it again today. I really like this. It definitely has lasted on me. It is meant to sort of like Mash Ashish with your skin and be a bit of second skin a fact so I am a fan of it another thing that's really cool that by Kilian is launch and you mentioned read last night right so last year by Kellyanne launched. A range of scented lipsticks novel is that every shade is read. It's that Gorgeous Matt that pure pigment which I love. That's his favorite color. I tried them. I tried them last night and I thought of you because they are this matt enrich pigment and there they are works of art the tubes themselves and who wouldn't want it to fall out at a dinner party there absolutely stunning so that was his first foray into makeup makeup. We did ask if there's more to come. You'RE GONNA have to stay tuned until the very end to find out we're not. GonNa give that away just yet and I think even if you're not a huge fragrance lover you are going going to love his story. Here's a lot of family pedigree. He has a famous last name. Yeah Hennessy of the LVMH's in Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Z. Family Cognac so a lot of his sense bottles look like booze bottles frankly and definitely take some inspiration from there. We knew that there was going to be a lot of great stories behind someone who has such a famous last name so let's start there with his childhood growing up in the French region of Cognac and here here he is Kellyanne Hennessy. My name is killing Hennessey and I am the founder and creative director of by Mike Kilian perfumes and today actually beauty exciting so whenever we interview someone we also want to know a little bit about their their childhood and their growing up and given that you're you know in the fragrance business. If you could bottle your upbringing what would it smell like and why well they see sense. Vida come to my mind and growing up one was sent of Tbilisi flower because all the women in my life always and only only where bill is based perfumes. My mother only word to bill who her sister my grandmother my wife today like I feel like I cannot get away from two bills well. What were they wearing. These must have been classical guitar. It was from pig okay. My grandmother was wearing poison from Georgia aw today today my mother is being beyond love prohibited which is part of my collection and my wife was a beast book perfume hume that I made for her for wedding day belt onto Bill Jasmine and Daffodil so I would say to be a big part of it yeah the probably the scent of the connect sellers which is oak son of Oak bobble drenched in alcohol and sugar and then there's another son that comes to my mind which is a combination of also var from your mix ways pipe tobacco because my grandfather used to well so he actually had this big bottles and he was he would wet his hair with also version Asia and when I would see him in the morning he would always be with his pipe smoking smoking tobacco pipe and there was a special combination nation of those two together so these two bills tobacco pipe and connect sellers would be did you ever play hide and seek in those cognac sellers. That's what I picture when you were growing up around the code. So what was your house like. I know you had a really famous. Amos family eighties. There was still big bowls in Paris. Oh I remember my mother when she would go out with a lot of feathers in the H- a- and big have to and and for and I mean it was it was over the top Magden and I wish thought what would bring back the feeling of a bit over the top parties absolutely eighties excess of that so you're late grandfather was the the founder of LVMH Louisville. Tom Oi Hennessy and he was also Kilian Hennessy. We read so what does the name Killian mean. It's an Irish name because the founder of Hennessy his name was Richard Hennessy was an Irish soldier who came from Ireland to fight on under leader fifteenth in the French army and after the war he settle into Bijan of CONNEC shot and he started a business died. We use the local business and the local business was CONNEC so we always we have this. Irish blood innovate when you look at me. It'll look look which you'd see my mother and sisters. They have the more blonde with Jill. I am obsessed with this fragrance story because I love how it's just taking me away feeling French. I'm deep in the COGNAC COGNAC sellers but just like when you're sniffing a lot of fragrances and you need to give your nose break you sniff coffee beans. It's kind of like a pallet cleanser. We're going to take a break great now to shadow one of our show sponsors on that note. I am literally sniffing coffee right this very minute. I've got my four sigmatic mushroom coffee with lines main in and Chagas in hand. It tastes so good. I can actually drink this one black. Oh really a blend of coffee with the CIA and lion's Mane Mushroom. Honestly is my good morning. Goto to kick-start productivity. It's great for brain health and it's made with one hundred percents Arabica beans while I'm drinking the mushroom hot cocoa mix with ratio by the way neither of these taste anything like mushrooms point. I'm trying to stay away from having sweets when I hit the three o'clock wall so I'm kind of cheating eating because this is sweet but actually it's not too sweet and it's good because it's got the ratio in it which is said to help with sleep and mild stress us and that also works really well for me because if I were to have a strong coffee in the middle of the afternoon gas who would not be sleeping that night me you need that beauty rest so can't risk risk it and it's so easy to use. I love that you can tote a packet of this around with you. All you do is rip open..

And when I was doing all this the medic jumps humvee and starts working on me. You know, there's a sesame giving me an IV and just doing what medics do. And I remember looking at him. And I was k dog let me get some Waterman fucking thirsty. And he's like I can't give you any one right now. Hold on. Let me keep doing what you're doing what I'm doing. And I said dude keeps a fucking water, bro. Ranking him some fucking water and he's like don't don't drink to sip. And I was like, okay. So I was sipping the water. And this is where I made the biggest mistake him alive. Man. I poured it over my head. In, you know, all the chemicals from the ID from the fire extinguisher everything rolling them is. And I went blind. I couldn't see anything while in rep in in that moment. I realized there was two things that I could do I could either freak the fuck out and scare the new guy more than he was than there. And he was free came out freak the dock out freak everybody the fuck out or I could just mend the fuck up until this guy had to get out of there because we were the first fucking home again. And I was the only one in the medic and that vehicle and everybody was ready to push. Wow. So man. There's got to be painted that point right pain starting to come start a new starting to make his way towards me. And I was like fuck like I'm starting to feel it in a so I finally get I get, you know, here the comms over the radio like we're road, rollers, go, go go, and we're pushing. So the drivers were your idea where we're going. I was just drive, and I'm gonna give you the reckons. He goes, okay. Again, I couldn't see anything..

"They're very easy to recognize. They're very easy to avoid. So just do that in everything will be fine. Yeah. And this serves as an example to your kids for sure, right. What do we teach? Our young boys constantly avoid bad situations, compromising situations, like it's at the very center of teenagers making bad decisions, right? I mean, what would have happened? If if she came over to my house and my wife didn't happen to be here and neighbor, Joe by and saw a woman come over and come into my house or my kids for whatever reason came home from school early, and there's a woman in my in my office downstairs. Like what? What kind of signal am I giving even if there is nothing going on? It's not a good situation to put yourself in. Anyways. So I think we're being a dead horse here. What else? Let's take a couple more man. Okay. How would you pronounce Justin's last name? Copen. Kobe, kill killing Kilian. I dunno yoga? Yeah, Justin Kilian. Do you have any future plans for a legacy type event? I think we've answered that, but for fathers and daughters, like in the feedback I have heard, and also what you spoke on from the first event. I have a stepdaughter eleven and my own six, and I'm thinking thinking I or we would enjoy in event like that. You know, I, I really appreciate the idea and I've thought about this and I've had people ask about this, but I think this actually ties into the last couple of questions here. Unless I changed the event quite a bit, it would be it would be inappropriate to handle a father daughter event the same way that we handled this father son of it because we were camping in tents and and there was multiple dads with multiple boy. I mean, it was it was we're all just kinda together that bathrooms were the same like because there were bunch of guys. So if I was going to do that, the cost would go significantly up higher because each father daughter combo would have to have their own private room with bathroom and things like that. I just don't know. I don't know what that would look like, but the way that it is right now, it would not be appropriate for a father daughter then. So I the best answer I can give right now is unless we change the the event itself, the answer would be no, but I'm not saying it's ruled out. I'm just saying I've really have to consider what that would actually look like. Not that daughters aren't employees. Have people say that all the time. Oh, we do suffer son's yeah, because we're, it's called order of man. So part of that is being a good man in other parts of it are helping raise other men. Now I realize I have a daughter. Other guys have daughters. I'm not saying that we're going to not teach them the things they need to learn just saying we're focused on on this stuff, but I also see the value of it. I just don't know what it would look like. Yet. All right, Bruce, Bruce, his question. How do you cold approach larger companies to who you pitch your brand? I don't know if he's asking like how I would how I personally do it or how somebody should do it. I don't use ask him what you would do. I, I wouldn't cold, I would. I would try not to cold approach a larger company. And what I mean by that is I would I would like that company to know who I am. What I'm all about before I'll give you an example. We had Evan Hafer on the podcast a couple of weeks ago, black rifle coffee significantly larger company than order a man with far greater reach and impact why I reached out to him in a way you could say it was cold. I reached out to him and said, hey, I'd love to having the podcast..

"So he plays you resident millennial to these people. Okay. He's. That's what he's, he's my gateway back into this crazy world of Murphy, Brown and plus Murphy Brown was not a diverse show. So I'm glad. Caller. Yeah, CBS because my grandmother was my grandmother, loved CBS, CBS woman. And so I would, you know, watch some of these shows like grandma and diversity, but yeah, but I, but when I feel like growing up Brown also show that was like on the, it was definitely left-leaning. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, definitely. Left-leaning super radical, super cutting edge. So I think scandal that she had like she was unwell she had a kid without having a fought like being married? Yes. The next show that we're talking about is single parents. It's on ABC great segue guy. Keep his move in this show is I think Taryn Kilian he's from SNL. He's going to be leading it. I wanna talk about is this character Jake Komeagac and it's played by the actor. Jake Choi who is a twenty year old sleep. Devise deprived dad, raising a baby boy after the mother departs college LIAM's him to parent their son alone, which I don't quite get because I know it's about kids in elementary school, so I don't understand how him with a baby ends up hanging out. I do wanna point out the Jake Choi. It has also made news because he has recently come out as sexually fluid, so good for him. Not only is he a POC. He is also a queer POC. So he's part of the fam- hey, hey, Jake choice Rob's. Now this is for those of us that should be getting excited by a little return. Another return person to see and this is from your weird, Facebook TV. Oh God, Facebook TV. Don't forget. I was I forgot that even existed. It hasn't hit my brain yet that it's a thing. Well, you should check it out because our girl killing Marie TRAN star is. Yeah, she's doing. She's on the show. Sorry for your loss. She's playing jewel Shah. Who is basically the sister of a young woman Leigh Sean who loses her husband is a widow. And so she plays the sister and jewels is a recovering drug addict who's coming off a stint in rehab. She's fighting day by day to maintain her sobriety, but also struggling to evolve out of the role of a well-meaning disaster in her family. So lot of layers. She's not playing when known this. No, she's playing a lot of notes all the notes. She got a lot to do in that one. So it's going to be very different than roadway saddle. Was it rose? Yeah, that was at rose. Tyke Tyco Bros. Neko when I hope maybe this helps bring her because see those. This is going back to the Russian bots. They helped chase her off of Twitter because Russian bots with instigate horribly, racist shit. And then the real racist would take it up and she laughs Twitter. Yeah. Well, let's go watch Facebook watch just as opposed some Kelly, Marie, TRAN. You know what? I wasn't here for Facebook watch, but I will. I'm here now. This is included. My free Facebook account. See the getting us. I don't know. Okay. Last one. This is for all of my DC universe people not me. Do you about a couple coasts you, hey, okay. All right. Yeah. What's the show the show show is called titans and titans. Basically, based off the comic series, teen titans where Robin leads a bunch of other superheroes young young superheroes into their boy and cyborg and starved. Exactly. So you know, I know I do titans. Are you do. So basically in this live action version of titans because there's, I think there's the cartoon teen titans to which at the same sort of Attila ration-, but rice water. The actor plays beast boy. No. Yeah, he's, he's. Yeah. They have a not to steal the sunshine, but the girl plays star fire is a black girl right that how is that stealing? They can both exist in. We have a focused on. We're focusing on Asian Amir, celebrator, Asian American actors, but she's there to. I'm also got a lot of hate, I'm I'm just glad that when there is a show that has multiple people, Columbia, how the world is. It shouldn't just be token is so glass. Yeah, when they play like aliens or just like mutants and creatures like it can't everybody getting the game..

"Great beatles fan this guy is one of the best actors i've seen and let me tell you something for people that haven't seen this yet you seriously you just you just want to write a check and send it somewhere for those moments that you see kilian urfi and tom hardy saints i'm trying to think better television then when those two are talking and very few moments over the past five years i'm there's no bigger tom hardy fan in the world of man i think his performance in the four seasons of that show are just a tour to force and when you get to the four seasons adrian brodie also in that season playing the italian cato mafiosi the three of them to at various times when they in combination in that these are some of the most electrifying television this just in christ endorsement doesn't matter talking does that he knows every one of them only real question at this point is whether you think that where we end at the end of the fourth season with respect to tom hardy's character do you think that is actually a resolved thing or do you think there's some chances i think i i that spoilers unfortunately i think that i will say this to if the golden globes and if the emmys do not acknowledge do not do not we're gonna boycott backup a brinks truck wherever these these are these awards ceremonies are held and just open it up and everything that falls out if it does not have peaky blinders on it then just shut the shows down just just turn the lights off and go home because you will know that it's a scam it is fix as you know.

"I will mention that since this episode was originally released this book has become available on audible i say this because this is a book that i encourage everyone to read because she shares how science has really done and does it with the skill of the master storyteller in this interview we debunked several longstanding miss one is the idea that we have a rip kilian brain buried deep in saw mammals are not descended from reptiles we are more like cousins also are cerebral cortex is less special than we thought because it turns out that all vertebrates have since a similar structure although it might go by different names in birds and reptiles darker herculean ah ezell argues that the key difference is the number of neurons a second myth is that our brains are too big for our bodies it turns out that primate brains are different from those of other mammals and that humans have exactly the size brain predicted for a primate of our size guerrillas and harangue a tangse actually have unusually small brains it turns out that in most mammals the brain doesn't grow as fast as the rest of the body but in primates the relationship is different it's almost linear this means that if you look at a road and any primate with the same body size the primate is going to have a bigger brain and there is a more important difference between primates and the generic mammal brain and that is that in primates the neurons do not get larger as the brain gets larger this means that a primate can fit more neurons into the same.
