"And we're back. Hey, Julie, I have some amazing news for you do his March 31st? Yes. Yes. So we lived all of us lived through no. No, no don't stomp on my good news. We're through Thursday. We're through a quarter in a year. I know and no pandemics. Yes, I didn't get a pandemic for my birthday again this year. Yeah. Awesome. I know and you know, I was thinking this morning funny. You mentioned that since we are actually the end of first quarter, which is incredible. You just stepped over their punch lines. Do you do that all the time? She didn't get a pet. She didn't get a pandemic for her birthday cuz last year on her birthday on March 12th was basically when the world was discovering took we're in a pandemic official kickoff. Yeah. So it's quite a celebration directly. I know but I was thinking it's does it seem like this year's going quickly. It does to me. Like, how are we at the end of first quarter already? Yeah, and that's well, that's because twenty-twenty took a decade to get through, you know, of course without that particular mother keeps giving and giving my goodness exactly. What does it does because here's the reason why is cuz there is the Renaissance birth. And it's starting to build momentum and people are feeling more excited more happy. They're feeling more energetic people are feeling more confident. There's all these overlapping emotions as a result of basically being told that you are in quarantine in a world is coming to an end and people are now sort of in their own ways and differing levels of intensity celebrating life and you can tell I mean definitely gym is more full. Of course, it's spring break, but the gym here fitness center is more full of the Kids Campus full of vacationing the hotel guests seem happy. You know, I think General enthusiasm is a great theme user even outside of our little you know, hammered life. The fact is is that everywhere people are feeling like there's a global Renaissance. There's no doubt in my mind that we're basically going to be experiencing that's going to be unprecedented certainly for our combined over a hundred years on this planet..

Yeah well your school is affiliated with an organization called austin sound waves. I know they had a big impact on you. What do they do okay. So often sound is a nonprofit music organization that provides music education to low income students so the reason they chose to be a east austin college. Prep which was my previous. School is because mostly low income students go there because it's in the area and yes so the majority of the students are the minority. Basically so yeah. I find it really nice that they went there because if they weren't there i wouldn't have been able to start my music journey and your music journey has been so impressive just a few years later you were accepted into the famous interlocken arts academy and boarding school in michigan. They wanted you so much that they gave you a really good scholarship. But even so i know that going. There has meant a financial stretch for your parents. What was it like bringing up the idea of an arts boarding school to your parents. So yeah i told my dad and he was. He was actually really supportive. He was like oh yes. UT said that both are considering withdrawing at 1.2 due to the looming threat of this virus on campus. Yeah, It's pretty interesting. There's actually an insurance policy out there. It's called Grad Guard marketing, and every college students refund policy is very different in most schools don't have it in their budgets to reimburse you Beyond the first several weeks or days of classes. So some students are actually paying for insurance tuition insurance if you will to maybe get some of that money back. Well, I can understand that. Absolutely. These days. It's a huge outlay. I just don't know why. If students are forced to go online at the college level, then why do they still have to pay for the dorm Use fee? Yeah, that doesn't make sense at all. It doesn't No, no. "Damn. Can't i mean who like seriously who thought up this game. I don't know it's dumb but seriously why would you even go. Try to chase people on the can. It's just like it's like playing tag with two people it really is. It is if you sat there. All the people hiding are gonna get bored with that and they're gonna wanna come kick the can and then they are going to tag him. That's true my whole strategy or you know you could be like a you want some wine then. Let me tag you got four. I would probably bring three bottles out and aubrey two extra glasses. You want some wine. If you want over here. I'll give view as much as you want. You can take my seat on top of the kellyanne and i'll take my father bottle in my wind. Glossing is an i'll go hide. I'm gonna go hide in the yard somewhere in the t._v. And drink my wine come tag me and i'll come sit back the the problem with adults playing those kind of gave it is because i just like shows you like long ago the games that they had you basically have this old like coffee can and that's all you have to play with so they did this game like kick the can just like when when you know we were young you had a stick stick in iraq a second iraq and a mud puddle and you're supposed to entertain yourself or like the entire weekend mud puddle entertain me for hours. Oh man i used to go sit out in the dirt. Yes next to my parents house. I'd pull the hose over next to me. Turn it on and it was just sit there with the hose running like making stuff out a mud sitting in the mud just doing whatever and i would be entertained for hours and hours thrilled with the amount of entertainment but then probably not thrilled with the mud coming into that we get in trouble for leaving the hose on for hours at a time because that's a water bill right there. I just kobe what yeah i love. I i have the small patch where my mom automatic sprinklers. Don't get too so. I have a sprinkler when i turned it on last night. At seven. I'm forty five and it went off this morning at six o'clock. Whoops not quite twelve hours almost and you don't have irrigation water do you do aw shit was running on arrogation water that grass. I was a kid our water that i was running for hours of. I don't think everybody has irrigation. Well no they don't they don't they all knew gatien water. Everyone should have arrogation water because it's frigging the bomb so yeah. That's what we he didn't mirror kids kind of dirt mud stick rock. There wasn't much else well. I would assume an adult camps with the bound bonus of the kid campuses alcohol. Oh why else would you go to an adult camp hall alcohol. I wonder if that alcohol is included in the price like an all. You can drink to kind of thing. You would think that would all be in there so this c._n._c. Camp supposedly has ten locations. I'm not quite sure where they've been that. I mentioned they've tried seller ideas on shark tank. Yes failed out so it looks like there are playgrounds that they have is in new york or los angeles so they've covered both coasts. Okay yes well. It sounds like to this particular campus for hookups. It does sound like it's more for singles yeah it does it's only five hundred and fifty eighty dollars which is really expensive for camp for a week but prices go up as closer to you get to the event. Spaces are limited. Yes they are one point. Five hour drive from los angeles have comfortable would bonk's with comparable bunk beds and in an bunk modern bathrooms bunk modern bathrooms mean because in the bunk and the bunk beds in the bunk calling that king the cabins the bunk okay. I'm reading. It says they have a newly he built climate controlled stone would bunks with comfortable bunk beds in bug modern bathrooms stone and wood bunk yes but then there's a bathroom in the bunk beds so each bunk can house eight people and there's a bathroom in there. Yes eight bunk beds that comfortable asleep up to sixteen adults so i guess each bunk sleeps to oh yeah bunk so there's eight bunk beds so that would be sixteen people. Yes so sixteen people know donau well now. Now wait a second. Just hold up for a second and just stop the train if this camp is for single people her giant single for people who want to hook up which is what this article says the article. I haven't seen that yet in this thing. How'd you hook up with someone if you're sharing a cabin with fifteen eighteen other people. Haven't you ever seen like bachelor in paradise now. Are you the one fucking care we we. They're all sharing the same room with bunk beds. Just join each go down to everybody else in the room. Go under the covers. That doesn't who cares there. Are there another show on m._t._v. called. Are you the one that i just mentioned. They have a boom boom room. The boom boom room we go in near the screw. People okay so from where i come from died is just wrong where old i guess for old old. We're not typical now. Wait a minute so they go in the boom boom room. Yes are you the one yes to basically fuck each each other yet but sometimes there could be up to six people in the boom boom room at one time. Oh my god that's so gross and they're just sharing the love and uh it's on national television yeah. It's a reality show what the hell people block out the body parts care. Everybody knows that you're you're doing well. You could see what they're doing. You can't see their <hes> privates. Don't show boobs or seriously. I'm sorry that's some narcissistic. Shit that you want attention for being on that show and leading the whole world know your sex or someone well. There are other things as a million dollars. I don't care. I don't care as a million dollars worth your dignity. I don't know if it's worth dig me but it's fucking on the wall. I enjoy watching this shit okay. We're gonna have to watch an episode together. I've never watched the show can we. We should watch an episode together while recording wording the podcast so that we can do commentary okay well so the are you the one show on m._t._v. yeah watch. This is my third season watching. They've been on for like five seasons. I i'm glad that this is a kind of show on the fucking music television network mtv so how this show is is is normally. It's twenty two singles. Eleven boys eleven girls now go onto the show and they're trying to find love and money. Oh what they don't know is that they've gone through a regular. Oh i don't say that word right rigorous thank you that word interview process with multiple experts experts and whatnot and their families were interviewed as well along with their xs in everything and these matchmakers match them up with their perfect match <unk> on. I don't know who it is so they have to try to figure it out. You have to figure it out so they have a match up ceremony where they try to yes yes they're perfect matches and at the end of the ceremony is revealed. How many perfect matches they have but not who they are. They have usually usually it's eleven weeks to figure this shit out and now they don't vote people out. No okay all stay there the whole time but every week they can't get a hint because because they can send people out on dates and they pick two of those people to go into the truth booth and this is what will show if they are a perfect match or not so you can get hints. It's okay so even if they're not perfect match you know if you know they should not be sitting together at these matchup ceremonies because they're not a perfect match but still l. This is some scientists are computer program. That told you that was your match right. These are people experts that put them together. Okay yes so i've watched this. I'm on my third one the first two they won their million dollars. They got their matches win. The million ninety dollars once you figure out the perfect matches at the match up sarah oh they all have to be matched up. Yes you had a million dollars. Split it fuck i rich i was shocked that they are also like adamant about getting because it was like forty eight thousand dollars a person what if you find your perfect match but nobody else does where you penalize them because you didn't work as a team and if you get something called a blackout ceremony yeah meaning that you didn't get one matt your money in half <hes> no it gets cut in half so this season's a little different yeah they only only have sixteen singles instead of twenty two so it was only eight perfect matches okay. They still are giving them as long as the regular season but here's the difference they're all bisexual. Oh no it could not sixteen and that's like fucking what thirty two or something big team perfect matches but they don't know if it's a boy girl combo oil girl combo. Oh no i had a rough up time with this not that i'm against any of this but i had a rough time in the very beginning when you're like anybody then it could get to know the character just love them beset interaction and she's he she because she hasn't are are alter ego. That's a girl yeah but god. He does the best makeup in the world to watch it. I thought we could probably i used to love watching big brother. My friend tara really likes the big brother and i used to have <hes> they had big brother and then they also had <hes> mm-hmm where you could go online and watch the big brother house live anytime of the day because their cameras were running all the time cameras are running twenty four seven so you could just watch him on the computer all this that is so cool me why betcha we could watch this whole season of are you the one of these days because i it's all on on demand. We can totally do that. We can fast forward through the stupid stuff stops now. This is the weirdest thing about this show is that these people make real connections on their and their pers- his fessing their love for one another which i understand if you're with somebody literally twenty four seven or eleven weeks. You're probably going to get a pretty good closeness with everybody in the house right so they truly love each other and then they get put into the truth booth because they want to see if the perfect match and as soon as they told they're not the perfect imagine like right before i love you so much no matter what happened. We're in this for the long run administrators that are not perfect. I hate you. What are we saw. You wait a sec wait. I'm not gonna win my money. If i'm with you bye-bye felicia by funny to walk aw oh my god i mean and that's just reality t._v. For you like the drama i don't have in my life and i don't want my life <hes> yeah. I don't watch in my life. I don't want to guess if i need to be with a boy or a girl. I would never make show a guy be like fuck all y'all because you're dumb and i want out. They have some good parties though oh i bet good shit in there i bet it's usually always one pretty good cook out of the house and it's like they're always in hawaii. Oh right on the beach see. I would do it just to be in hawaii for eleven weeks. Maybe we'd be but how do you get out of your job for eleven weeks ago go. These people must not have jobs right. I'm filtering. Are they. Millennials that don't have jobs are or they don't have real jobs. They probably have real jobs but we figured out that i've just read a article about millenniums is that they they don't feel they need to work as much as what's our generation called x. Yes x. or somewhere in there where we're.

"You when you throw in random travel or plan travel during that process I think you can interrupt your flow from a recovery standpoint and I think that's one of the things we talked about with our conditioning staff is I would have had to change how I normally prepare for season headed in U._S._A.. Be You gotta be in game shape now as opposed to be game shape in October which changes your it it changes the way you train now because you're not going to stress your body more to get ready physically exactly what conditioning standpoint which then disallows the opportunity to work on skill development right. It's hard to work on certain things that you teach WanNa work on you know in in an empty Jim when you're when you're playing games when you travel when you're trying to get in game shape a little bit earlier that that that kind of alters your recovery window and we're we're big on breaking down my training and in weeks you know certain weeks I do have your closer. Weeks are doing today's certain weeks time to vacation. Take a break decompress and then jump back into it. When you speed up the curb like literally my kids campus this week so I would go from kids camping Oregon where I do to it as a workout I six A._M.? I go to camp from ninety three. "Finally been repealed governor Ducey signed legislation yesterday, repealing the no promo homo law. A law that prohibited certain elements of sex education from being teach taught in classrooms. Yeah. That you weren't allowed to to teach in districts charter schools anything that would promote a homosexual lifestyle. Now, teachers, which I get saw that as you're not allowed to talk about it at all. And they were worried about walking up to the line because there was a certain amount of ambiguity in this. I have seen firsthand in in the classrooms that are teachers avoid discussing LGBTQ topics because they believe that it is illegal for them to to discuss these topics in the classroom, even when our our students in the LGBTQ community in their family. Days truly need to know that they are included and they should feel safe and welcome in our classrooms that state superintendent of public instruction Kathy Hoffman who even in her city the education address in early February said that this is something that needs to be repealed. And I think one of the one of the issues is that I saw some teachers tried to speak about this. Boy, you talk about like walking on minefield is that they felt even if they got some questions, you can imagine health class sex Ed class, and you got questions from students that might walk up to this that they felt they couldn't answer them. And where you basically creating a public health issue by not being able to give people even help information. So with the new superintendent of public instruction, Kathy Hoffman in her state of the education address taking shot at this legislation as well as a lawsuit that was filed on. Half of to Arizona teens by the equality of Zona. Those two elements led to a lightning change in this law. This law has been on the books like you said Bruce since nineteen Ninety-one. This is not the first time somebody tried to do something about the last four years. You've had a state Senator who has tried to get rid of this Bill this law rather to no avail hasn't been successful identical legislation last four years. He says it it wouldn't even get a hearing in the Republican controlled house. He couldn't he couldn't even get a hearing on his Bill. He's crediting that lawsuit. You just mentioned from equality Zona. Who said they were going to file a lawsuit? Challenging law, and maybe more importantly, you had attorney general Mark Burnett said he I e the state of Arizona would not defend it in court, which I think made the handwriting was on the wall for even any state legislators saying. We can't even get the general to defend this. There's no defensive at anymore. We're going to lose this. Hey, we can pass the Bill and look like heroes or we can wait to lose in court show. Attorney general Mark Burnett. Mitch on Tuesday said I can't defend this law indefensible Wednesday state, Representative TJ show of Coolidge who is a Republican introduced an amendment in the house to get rid of it it passed the house Thursday the Senate passed the repeal Thursday meeting yesterday this Tuesday Wednesday Thursday and then yesterday afternoon the governor signed it with an it's no more within an hour within an hour of the Senate passing. It governor Ducey signed it into law, basically, repealing it. I do think there's something to be said for the fact that apparently they can get things done rather to relatively quickly of the state capital, but not everything. Need to take time. So here's the research things that you need to be able to dive into digests. So what is holding up the distracted driving law? I mean, we haven't got that passed. Did that need to go through some committees? I mean you through committees. I'm just saying certain things can speed through others seem to seem to gum up the system, and it's never clear to me who's behind the slow walking or who's behind the speeding up of it. I think that there are certain things like the distracted driving law where you should probably be in committee and kind of work out the details of it this again, it's been proposed for the last four years. Maybe they've got enough information on it that has already been hashed out and win the attorney general's not going to step into fight. It will then the writing on the wall there. But it doesn't mean things are going to immediately change your kids campus, whether it be at a public school or add a charter school because the changes wouldn't happen to the curriculum until the beginning of the next school year. And what those changes are. I'm not exactly sure, but they seem to be going in the right direction. At least the law doesn't even officially come off the books till ninety days. After the legislative session a couple of weeks from now. So that means sometime during the summer, it's off the books, and then they basically turned around the way it was before that individuals school districts individual school boards can make determinations on how they wanna t- certain things, especially when it comes to sex, Ed or health class this law, though, just no longer handcuffs, teachers, and or educators into saying, well, we can teach all about this. We can teach HIV and aids. Pro preventative prevent prevention. But we can't mention anything about a homosexual lifestyle while we're doing which seemed to be a little bit odd. Like, even if you're not mentioning it. I think you should at least be allowed to answer questions. If you're asked of it, do, you know, what I I if you don't want to go down that path. Oh, okay. The curriculum might force you to do something different. I don't know. I haven't had you know, my chance to look at it yet. But if you have a student in your class that is genuinely asking questions. Yeah. You as the authority figure on this topic because you're standing of your health plan on it. Yeah. Should be able to answer it without penalty of breaking the law. Your answer should not be by by statute in the state of Arizona and not allowed to answer your questions. My goodness. This is a good thing for the state of Arizona. It's a step in the right direction. It's a good thing for the kids to as well as teachers like you said, I taking off those handcuffs. Hey, the new kids on the block the.

"You know, what do they finish like that on the field that was another story, but they were recruiting well, they're recruiting aggressively off a lot of players in. And then they kind of go against that complete rain with chip Kelly, and it ends up being a, you know, by what we've been used to seeing it pretty unimpressive class pretty mad class as far as UCLA's concerned. But you know, we'll see if the work they they decided to try this new strategy about bring guys the eighth day of the month. They offered twenty guys on Friday. It seemed to be more players. They offered on Friday, and they did in the entire two thousand nineteen cycle. So we'll see the strategy to take of the peso that more works from chip Kelly. But when you see how you recruit. It under Jim Mora. Now, see how it is been under Kelly. It definitely was one of those moments where I think people in the Pac twelve just going like what the heck are they doing what's going on? There is this a matter of chip Kelly having the cachet to say these are the guys I want for my program, and I'm not changing how I do things. One thousand percent. Yes. I it's chip Kelly Sanders helmet to do it. And if you don't like it, then look somewhere else, but you know, can that strategy that maybe worked at Oregon in two thousand eight or two thousand nine or two thousand ten eleven and twelve work in two thousand nineteen into age of recruiting with social media in the age of, you know, making yourself visible making yourself have bud. Look at the other schools in the Pac twelve that. When they go on and unofficial visit or observe when he comes in an unofficial visit. Or when the coaches go out during the period, everybody in the world knows that either that kids on campus, or those coaches are on that kids campus UCLA everything's so under the radar, and it was it had been by design had to be the way. Chimp wanted to do it. But can that work in two thousand nineteen when so much about recruiting about biz ability and the social media aspect of it. All right, Dan, hit the pause button done. I need to know. Are you sick and tired of paying high interest rates on all your credit cards? I'm done with the tie a half to be do you want to consolidate multiple credit card payments.
