"Hi, everyone and welcome back to episode four of the become your own best, friend podcast. My name is Kiara Johnson. And this is a podcast where I share advice and tips to help understanding yourself and others more effectively, this will help you improve your relationships Correa job satisfaction. And of course your own happiness. Certainly I just want to say a huge thank you to you for pressing play today. And for also the feedback that I've received so-far Mersa view of said it's like was sitting down having a Cup of coffee and chatting about life, which is exactly the result. I wanted from this podcast. I'm sorry, passionate about helping people become a better version of themselves, and really believe that if you step outside your comfort zone, then that is where the magic happens. But more. Most people are afraid to do that or during nowhere to stop. So my hope is you listening through this podcast is taking the action steps that I suggest to help you get out of your comfort zone. It's so easy to sit back and read a book goal. Listen to a podcast, but I wanna really push you by getting you to think about things differently and then of course, applying them to your own life. In today's episodes. I wanna talk about the impact of stress, and what is having on your life. I see everywhere I will Kim's pay was is, and I can see the stress behind them the main way, I used to say in people with when I was working with clients, as a personal trainer that would say to me CARA, I'm eating healthy. I'm exercising. Why can I lose weight? What's wrong with me? And usually it was those losses couple of killers, you know, those stubborn kilos that just don't leave particularly around the midsection, and I certainly saw that in many, many clients that would come to me and instead of getting them to exercise hot. All looking even looking at their diet. I would firstly osc them. Tell me about you day to day life. What's your job like what you family? You like what's your relationships like, and that sort of look at me, a bit strange as if to say, well, a came for exercise and diet, invoice, why you wondering what's going on in my in my life outside of he'll, but what we got down to in, in some of the clients is that I actually stopped them from exercising intensely and also got them to eight more. But what we really focused on more. And this is why I'm I'm doing what I'm doing today. Rather than training people is because the results that I found with so astronomical. In terms of what people could achieve when we focused on their stress management, so often. Yeah, it was the stress that they were putting on themselves. The emotional pressure. Does that sound familiar to anyone out there? So when you stress the body, you end up secreting one or two of the homelands, namely, cortisol and adrenaline, so cortisol prevents your body from utilizing fat as defense mechanism to keep stored an g intuition, and for protection of the organs. Adrenaline on the other hand stimulates every cell in your body to fire at an increased. Right. So as cells are the main active will the more active the amount of waste that is produced increases, and that has an accumulation an accumulation toxic effect on the body. We can't deny that

"Hi, everyone and welcome back to episode three. My name is Kiara Johnson. And this is a podcast where I talk about self-confidence body issues stress management and the struggles around losing white I've been helping clients with these issues for over ten years and most of the time it's not to do with exercise or diet last week. We spoke about focus and in situations where you are angry or frustrated is your focus on you, and your feelings or is your focus on other people and things you can't control. I know we all know this intellectually. But it's something that has to be trained. It's just like a muscle. You can't just go to the gym and door white training session once and expect to have big strong muscles, you need to go on a consistent basis and train your muscles. On a consistent basis. So this is exactly the same thing about focus. We need to keep training our selves to create our focus on our own feelings and emotions rather than other people and things we can't control with so conditioned towards these things. It's just we go about everyday lives. And it's something that would not even consciously aware of. So hopefully, the things that we spoke about Las week around forecast might be something that you can now be self aware of and then start to improve. Because as a said, if we're not self-aware will just continue on our every day lives and not be aware about how much they as things are actually affecting us. So if you haven't listened to loss week's episode, make sure you go back and do that and do the activity that we spoke about with focus. So as a full one. From focus are like to talk about questions. The best way to control your focus is through the power of questions. Turney Ruben says successful people ask better questions as a result. They get better answers. We ask ourselves questions all day long are questions control, our focus how we think how we feel. Asking the right questions for me was one of the things that turned my life around instead of asking why is this happening to me? Why is so hard wider, my plans, ever workout? You can imagine what sort of answers, I'm going to get after asking those questions. It's going to result something negative instead start asking you self questions that could give you useful answers. So some problem solving questions that I got from a book from Tony Robbins was number one. What is great about this problem? Number two. What is not perfect yet? Number three. What am I willing to do to make it the way I want it? Number four. What am I willing to no longer do in order to make it the way? I want it. And the last one how can I enjoy the process while I do what is necessary to make it the way that I wanted. So those are really five powerful problem solving questions that you can imagine asking those questions when you have a problem you going to get a more useful response and something that you can use rather than getting caught up in. Why is this happening to me? This is the worst thing that could happen, etc. So if you're not sure about when you asking those questions if you can't come up with a an answer, you could use the word could. So what could I be most happy about in my life right now, sir? For example. The first question where it said, what is great about this problem? If there's something that you can't come up with then asking could. So what could be right about this problem? And that just changes, your focus, and it sort of takes a little bit of the pressure off you. Also another way to put it is if your friend was dealing with this problem. What advice would you give them? I know that spin quite powerful for me to be able to years. Now. Of course, there are situations where you just need to feel sad, angry, frustrated, etc. For example, if you just broke up with someone it's not helpful to be asking. What is great about this problem until you're ready to deal with it? So I know NO definitely talk about this a lot further in detail and props to another podcast about this topic specifically, but I think what hallway so quick to get away from the negative emotions. So if there is something that would dealing with and we're feeling sad or frustrated with so quick to try and get out selves out of it without actually feeling that emotion. It's really important that we do feel negative emotions with supposed to feel fifty fifty so fifty percent positive emotions and fifty percent negative emotions. Whereas we're always so quick to not let ourselves feel any negative emotions that will do things to say. Stop that surfer example, we'll eight drink take drugs, whatever it might be to stop ourselves from feeling a negative or emotion. And it's really powerful to make sure that you do feel those emotions rather than just bottling them up. Can you think about a situation at all where? You didn't want to feel that negative emotion. So it's almost like you try to do something to escape it. How did that feel when you just try to escape did you just push the emotions down? And then now have they come out in a different way, we often find that if we tried to push out emotions down and not allow them to come out properly, then they're gonna come out in quite a serious way. Further down the track.

"I everyone and welcome back to you episode Teri. My name is Kiara Johnson. And this is a podcast where I talk about self-confidence body issues stress management and the struggles around losing white of working and helping clients with these issues for around ten years and most of the time it's nothing to do with diet and exercise so on this podcast. I certainly won't be talking about the latest exercises. All new diets that are coming out. I want to educate people on what's happening on the inside of their body that stopping them from achieving what they really want. So Las week, I introduce you guys to the differences between Al conscious and subconscious mind and learning to speak the same language. So you nor what you want consciously. For example, you nor that perhaps you wanna lose ten Gillers. However, if your sub-conscious beliefs are in conflict, then you will continue to go around in circles does this sound familiar. So today, we are going to be talking about focus, and how that affects what you get in your lots. So let's think about when you wake up in the morning, whereas your focus is that I'm tired coming sauce. Did I have to go to work today? I don't want to go. I don't wanna sit in traffic does any of this sound familiar to you. So of course, if your focus is on all of those things which from what you can get from my voice, they were quite negative things. Then imagine how you die is going to be if that's your focus when you wake up in the morning. Oh, what about when you doing something that you perhaps don't want to be doing? Where's your forecast is it the fact that that toss is going to be a success, or is it focused on how much you don't want to bay the and that you'd rather be doing something else? What about when you go to the gym, for example, your at work in the afternoon, and you've got your Jim Ghia? And then all of a sudden, it's oh I have to go to the gym off to work because I have to lose white. So a need to make sure that I go as opposed to I get to go to the gym to have made time and will fill amazing afterwards. To just have a think about how I've said those things in how they resonate with. You is that I get to do something or I have to do something think about the tone in just those two simple words, get to or have to the such a huge difference in the focus on Lloyd's and how much changes out language. So I won't get a take a moment now and have think about the past month on all the time you felt angry or frustrated. Right down in event or situation. So I know some of you might be listening to this in the costs or does fine. You can just have a bit of a think about it. But riding down things is so much more powerful. Or if you are home at the moment listening to this. I highly recommend grabbing a pen and paper. So think about those situations where you angry or frustrated and next to h of the events wrought down, whether you a focusing on your thoughts, your feelings and your actions at the time or on events or papal beyond your control. So for example, sitting in traffic, so is your and you frustrated by that is your focus on the fact that other drivers going to slower. So if that's your focus, you can imagine that that is not in your control. So that's certainly a disempowering thought. If you had shifted your focus to you. You would have been in greater charge of those situations. So for example in our traffic situation. A more productive use of your time in traffic instead of feeling frustrated could have been to think about your upcoming meeting and that being success and everything that you needed to do around that or the so many other things that you can do to utilize your time in traffic. So you can now stop to Ohio fli you can start to say now about some of the situations that you've been in. Where's your focus is it on things that you can't control or is on your own feelings? So if you right back to those events if especially if you've written them down this will be a Feb as Eum but have good Thursday events and narrow it down. What you would have preferred to think feel an act in h of these events. So that you would have felt more in charge in those situations. Next time you're in any of the above situations. Remember to focus on yourself instead. So I've actually got a really good example of focusing on the wrong things, and how changes your attitude and also consequently you'll behaviors as well a couple of years ago, I was actually working on cruise ships as a personal trainer, which was a really really fun job. But there was also quite a few hot times to that job. So I started off working on a really great. Ship. It was called the ruby Princess. And it was amazing. I made so many friends I was really enjoying my job. And then all of a sudden couple months into my contract. My manager came up to me and said carry you need to Pakelle things and you're going to another ship tomorrow with docking with this this carnival ship and the traina has gotten really sick. And so they need to use one of our trainers. So automatically, of course, I was devastated because I thought that that was my life on the the current ship and was really happy where I was and I really didn't want to be moving. So anyway, I went and packed all my things and the next day. I went off to this new ship and compared to the other one it was very very crappy. Ship. I was very fortunate to bay where I was and on this one of ship. So anyway, I got on there, and it was a much smaller ship 'em. It was more. Like, a potty crews, for example. And being the fact that I was working as a personal trainer on the ship. A potty crew certainly wasn't an ideal situation for the clientele that I wanted to be working with. So as soon as I got on the ship. I realized that there were quite a few unhappy people on the ship and some of the things that they said to me were all you realize you're on the worst ship in the fleet dot so unfortunate that you got transferred. Here you so unlucky, etc. Etc. So of course, I've caught people telling me these things, and where do you think my focus went why did this have to happen to me? I was doing so well on the other ship. Why did I have to get transferred? I didn't deserve this. And you kind of get the point. So the next couple of weeks were really really challenging for me, always in this really unfamiliar environment. I didn't have any friends on this new ship. As a result of not feeling comfortable. I was quite reserved. And I sat by myself quite a lot. And of course, anyone that noise. Me knows I absolutely love to chat. So for me to be sitting on my own was really challenging and my thoughts just became more and more on the inside rather than being able to let them out. So of course with my work. I wasn't doing while at all. I was barely getting any clients. People would come four a basically a tour on their first day of the ship. So they come to the gym with the cocktails in hand. And I would explain all the activities and the classes that I. I be doing. And then they would say, oh how much is things and pay ten dollars for a yoga class, something and all I could do with all that's really expensive in that just walked straight away straight off. So of course, I felt devastated because I thought that it was my phone and my focus on the fact that I wasn't good enough. And maybe always better than they would want to be paying to do the causes etc. But of course, this ship as I said before was more of a potty crews, so they weren't really on the to becoming to get personal training sessions, whereas sunset in my previous ship that I had quite a lot of clients and was doing really well. So of course, the the less clients, I got the more in my own head. I got and I guess the sad or I felt on the more upset and then the. Questions of why did this have to happen to me? It's not fair, and you can imagine asking myself those questions, I'm only going to get a negative response.

"I everyone. My name is Kiara Johnson. And I'm so excited to bring you this podcast where we will be talking that all things how fitness relationships Korea and most importantly, your relationship with yourself. I think that's where it'll stops. If things aren't going right in your life. We need to question what's happening with the relationship with yourself. And some of the things that you would telling yourself every day. So I'm really excited to investigate various things with you and each week brings some tips and implementation strategies and most of all bay action taking and not just sitting there listening and thinking that that sounds like a great idea getting inspired. I really want you to start taking some action. So these areas are not what you thought they would base or for example, your you health isn't way, you would like it to be or your relationships or your career. Dennis absolutely punk cost for your. Don of the things that we will investigate is looking at nowhere that responsibility comes from. So you know, when you going throughout the day using excuses or blaming people or you taking responsibility is self, and what will start to recognize is that responsibility increases your confidence and your success. Whereas when you're using excuses and blame find that that's one of the biggest things that will sabotage your confidence and success. So will actually look at those things through. L pay or neuro linguistic programming. So fiddler's view that haven't actually heard of NLP before. The newer refers to neurology linguistic refers to language and programming refers to that neural one rich how that Newell language function. So in other words, learning Alpay's, like learning the language of your own mind. And this is what I absolutely love to do is investigate what's happening in people's minds. Like, why are we thinking the way that we are an and what's waiting to outcomes and Al action? You know, when we're now everyday life. No, it's so hard to find a balance between the stresses of life and taking the time to love your body. And and lots of who you are. So each week. I'm talk about different issues, which relate to this or whether it be pointy issues of confidence stress management losing white stress. Aiding all of these issues which are struggled with myself. So I will use my own personal journey to to share his concepts with you. But also share with you my experience in working with clients for the last ten years in the health and fitness industry in a variety of areas, and we'll say through my my knowledge of NLP in my training within that area. And as I said, the NLP. Is like understanding the language of your own mind. Another way to put it with bay. If you've ever tried to communicate with someone who didn't speak your language. So I remember my friends telling me that they went to Germany, and now we're in this rural pot of Germany, which was actually amazing. It wasn't. So it was an interest spots. However, they were restaurant where there was no English baking staff and the menu run in English. Either say, you could imagine how difficult it must be to try to order something when you don't say the language, I think they were using pictures. And anyway, they thought ordering a steak. So, but it turns out they had actually asked the liver stew when it came out. So you I like to put this is this is the kind of relationship that most of us have with our own unconscious mind. So we might think we ordering not. More money happy healthy relationship pace without family members and being able to stick to a healthy diet. But unless that's what's showing up in your life. Then something is probably getting lost in translation. So the language that you're using with yourself is different to our what your mind is actually interpreting. So in in L pay we have a saying that the conscious mind is the goal that up and the unconscious mind is the goal ghetto. They certainly unconscious mind is is not out to get you actually it's out to get four you, but you need to be very specific in what you wish for. So if you don't know how to communicate what you won't promptly then we'll keep bringing you. That steaming bowl with Stu and not that stake that you initially audit you own it. I'd like to get you to actually think about now, it was one thing that you could change just one habit that you could break. What would it be? It could be remain calm during what presentations. Quick procrastinating. That's always a good one and stop spending so much time on Facebook or not coming harm and smashing a bottle of wine. Not literally mashing that. Of course drinking. And not eating a whole tub of ice cream in in the one sitting. So whatever it is think about habits that you that you want to change. And whenever you whatever it is realize that your unconscious mind only does that because it thinks that that's what you want. They think of your unconscious mind saying something like, oh, hi, man. Here's your procrastination along with the side of things is easy. Also told the valet to bring up your emotional baggage as per request. We've been eating anything else. Of course, that's just a little jerk about what you potentially could be telling your unconscious mind. So throughout this podcast and really going to help you understand about why not getting things that you want all that you heard being four that in wishing full. You know, we've got the race horses that we need within ourselves to get what we want but often. No, we're not clear waking lost in translation. So that's why all us in L pay to assist with this process because it's like a I guess a uses manual for the brain. And understanding this is like learning how to become fluent in the language of your own mind to that ever. So helpful, sir. That is your unconscious mind finally understand what you want out of what. Wouldn't that be amazing to actually the things that you want that you could communicate properly and actually put into action? What is your off? Off to your storm us where can with clients. And and saying the struggles that I have sort of one of the biggest ones is wanting to lose weight. And it's like, you know, when you picture yourself as being healthy person than you often dirty things to what we call so sabotage. To also talk about every week about different. Can show up in your life? And maybe might be able to relate to that in Olso sham light my personal journey. That one. This is the only. Close to my heart is saying people struggle Saimaa, for example, with their white. And and just thinking that when it doesn't happen blaming things like what account lose weight because of genetic soul because I'm too busy. Oh, because I have three children all because no anelle the always being excuse off to that. Which? You can justify anything in your mind. And that's fun. If you want to justify that to yourself. But what I really want to help you out. With is actually empowering yourself to get you out of those excuses and learning how to take that responsibility in use that to actually change your life. But festival before you do that you've got to have that self awareness. So harmfully listening is put cost. You become more self aware about how you actually are sabotaging urine success, and whether that want bay with your body with your relationships with your career, whatever it is you'll find that it's a very similar situation. Once we're self-aware, then we can work out how to change it. And I can certainly help you do that. And that's what I've been helping clients with from many years. And this is why I'm excited to between this point cost as well. So that I can reach more people. And help more people. A matter of when you understand what's going on. Then you can make a change don't really excited for where this put cost is dies going to take off. And I say aas because I'm going to be on this journey with you, and I look forward to reading emails a valuable stories, and she wants happening a lot in in how you've managed to change things. So you can find me at inside at health and wellness. Either on Facebook or Instagram all my website is WWW dot inside at health wellness dot com. Deny you. To my business name inside out came from because I wanted to help people change from the inside out. I just have this really strong belief that you can't change anything on the outside unless you've got everything working. And like we said, your speaking the same language as your unconscious mind on that inside everything speaking the same language at then you will be able to actually change the outside. However, three things can be really challenging lack has said before when you become so aware of the language that you're using an how sabotaging convey towards yourself. It can be quite overwhelming. So I've got a court to finish off on. So Gordon is painful change is painful, but nothing is as painful and staying stuck somewhere. You don't belong. They're just have a think about that for a moment. And think about where you are right now and you'll life whether it be you'll relationships, you'll Korea your body. You'll health fitness way. You are the Mormon changing can be. Difficult painful, but will certain Stein, the same can be Wessel twelve look forward to helping year and sharing your journey of a change. And I will look forward to speaking with you next time. Thank you so much for listening at a hunt behalf wonderful day.
