Negotiates with dennis hopper to let sam the driver off the bus but then a woman named helen also tried to get off the bus and the bomber activates a small bomb that kills her. He has all these many bombs around. Yes yes the plot of the movie speed happens he needs. He's got a bomb for every occasion. Yeah so he has all these little like tamagotchi style. style just at random locations in case something happens right. Yes then up ahead. There's a large gap in the freeway but they managed to jump over it Thanks to some good driving. That was like one of the three things i remembered about. This movie was that they jump a highway so good. It's so they would have been such goners. This movie defeat like many action movies. I'm not saying anything new here. But the defying of gravity and other laws of physics. Don't apply yeah staggering. I kind of liked this movie really goes for it though where it's like there just like so many points in this movie were not only would they have died. They would've died like by a wide margin. And meanwhile harry temple figures out who the bomber is so they go to his house but he has rigged to explode and harry dies in the explosion so back at lax. The cops unload the passengers off the bus to safety which happens after they figure out that like. There's also a camera on the bus that the bomber is watching so they have to like create this like fake loop so that he doesn't notice that they're unloading passengers love that plot point right jack. An anti are the last to get off the bus. Which is the first climax of the movie. The empty bus runs into a plane on the tarmac. That i guess was empty. And there's a huge explosion. And then jack anne share a horny moment together. I was surprised that that sandra bullock's first question wasn't where people on that plane like exactly. Yeah 'cause i watched the movie twice. And i'm like missing something like did they did. They had evacuated the that they evacuated. Lax i'm sure that that's what happened or would have had to have happened so it was a currier plane so that wouldn't have passengers but there would still you would think be like personnel. So even if someone was high verbal communicator didn't necessarily mean that the sex was going to be good or they were gonna find the sex good so the author of the study called for more studies on the significance of specifically nonverbal communication during sex for clinicians and researchers and also recommended that people be more tuned to nonverbal cues to assess their partner sexual satisfaction. Now that is true it again. Now i find this fascinating and interesting and some of it makes a lot of sense. I do think that it does start to get into again. Bigger questions because i think that especially since two thousand twelve. We've had a lot of big cultural questions. Come up like for instance. Do nonverbal cues of pleasure. Indicate consent as an example. You know if my partner is giving me. Particular nonverbal cues that they're experiencing pleasure. Does that mean there actually experiencing pleasure something that our researcher kiani brought up is the fact that also nonverbal cues during sex is very different and very gendered. In what's expected of one person over the other. So for instance a lot of women are socialized to to give a lot of nonverbal cues not necessarily because they're feeling pleasure but mostly because that communicates to their male partner often that they're doing a good job or they're trying to protect their male partners. She cannot on the plane like that. So i'm like oh my god now. They're going to take a luggage off. We're gonna miss our slow. I've got to see this client. I've got one half day to see him and the flight is going to take three hours late after. Listen let me help you. I would have helped her anyway. I said what's going on. And she said. Kiani was speaking about how he created mindshare or mine valley and the The culture that he brings about it and how he gets a lot of people are more motivated to work with him and for him because and produce good work because they are in a good environment so when you have a good work environment like that you know like you hear amazon amazon work environment is. I've heard very very very bad things as well. I'm not saying. I'm trying to foster that environment but i just wonder you know why. There's so many companies still using this kind of to me. Sounds ridiculous. Like if i have to go. I just want to go pee. Don't want to like breeze my hand in like what exactly it's back to that micromanagement thing honestly it's like if you give people the responsibility the pride in their work. They're going to do a good job for you and they're gonna be motivated to do a job for you. So it's it's finding the right people who are motivated to work like you don't want to hire somebody. If you're gonna hire somebody who just wants a day to day you know kinda thing i guess you could you could but really i think most people like you do better hiring people that are motivated and just building a better work culture. I think that's the most important thing because it gets people to work for. You can get somebody working with you at a lower rate if they feel like the work environments fun. But if you start micromanaging. I mean we would stay in either. So why would i want somebody who's working with me feel that way. I guess that's my. That's my opinion on it. At least no. I i agree. I think if you Personally when i hire people in where people work for me. I always start in place of trust. So that's what i do. Not everybody has that drive that like the five or ten or twenty people that you had that smaller team. So i was just wondering kind of how would you then keep them motivated or keep them Keep everybody in line without very specific. You know you need to hit this and not not you know but again. I'm not an office manager. I don't know but i'm wondering. Do you find that. There is a challenge when you get to a certain level in. There's lot more employees that maybe you do need to kind of fall back on these types of tactics. I guess. I guess that is very much something like when you do have for say a call center or something where you've got one hundred plus employees in any really need to make sure everybody's pulling their way and you don't have that more intimate connection with them where you're talking to them regulation and doing a big team call with everybody so i guess you know i guess when you when you are at that level. I worked in the The gallup new mexico and the say benito area initially then moved on to Grants to a clinic and grants. Then i Did some relief work in georgia. Texas california before returning to new mexico worked in albuquerque For a little bit for a few years before i returned to the navajo nation. I started at navajo technical university in two thousand nine as the director of the veterinary teaching hospital and the land grant program. And i've been here ever since. Wow and there's been quite a journey to to those different places but what was it that drew you to this profession. Why did you want to pursue a veterinary career swell. So i as. I grew up on a a ranch. I was exposed to Large animals my family owned cattle horses. Sheep goats and I just enjoyed and enjoyed being around animals. I brody horses With my sister brother and cousins starting at the age of about three and Just spent a lot of time outdoors with animals then later as a preteen and teenager. I did some volunteer work at the local veterinary clinic in gallup and really enjoyed that work then as i moved into Graduated from high school and went on into college. I had a professor. That thought i should go to medical school but i realized at that point that i really wanted to go into veterinary medicine and

"So I think we wanted to start off by hearing from each of you like why were you? Are you interested in the type of work that you do in museum and cultural spaces, and then what do you see as the challenges from your position where you are in your career the challenges of these museum spaces? And in that sense to like we also, since our podcast is called all my relations kind of thinking about. The ways that museums and curation fit into this idea of being in good relation. So that's like a multi parter. But basically, why are you interested in this work What do you see as the challenges and then like? Any sort of thoughts around these ideas of museums and curation fitting into the idea of being a good relation. well, I so I. This is Jamie and I grew up with my father being in the navy and so my mom Mama's Osage my dad's non-native and he was in the navy. So we moved around a lot but spent summers at home in Oklahoma participating in our launch PGA and being you know with family and relatives there but when I was in elementary school We lived north of Chicago and Chicago has some incredible museums and so you know I would go to museums on the. Weekend with my family's or we would go for field trips and I loved museums The Museum of Science and Industry was split place that release sparked my interest and curiosity I loved the Field Museum where you could go and like go into a pyramid and you know be Indiana Jones which is problematic in a lot of ways to but you know and so in I think it was fourth grade was like the one year where learning about native Americans was part of the Illinois State Curriculum. And so we went to the field museum to the native American Cultures Hall, and I was really excited because I had told my friends that I was native American and they were like, no, you're not. You don't live in t p You know you don't look like you know Pocahontas or like have a pet like a free Koon. And so we go to the museum and they have a case about osage. people and it's like osage men's costumes. And there's like no representation of women and the closet are on view not the kinds of clothes that Mike that we wear today even you know our dances and. You know it was just like a really sad experience, and then my friends where these kids in my class told me like. Well, it's because you're not a real Indian anyway. We didn't believe you and it was just like this really kind of like damaging. Experience for me and so a lot of the reason. Know. The reason I got into museums is because I want kids to go into museums and feel like they're represented in meaningful and respectful ways until like experience the kind of joy and curiosity you know the the can happen in museums and that should happen in museums and non those kind of negative feelings. So there's a lot of work to be done. Things are getting better you know, but there's still a lot of a lot of space for for growth. I had the same experience at the field museum but that was like three or four years ago when I was asked to do a show there and I walked in and there's those totem poles that are in the in the center house and. You know they're like still unnamed polls in like some Haida itis did it or some sense Simpson artists and then I went you know walked into the native area and they had these. What we call square deal is we run square deal for ceremony there these paddle boards and we don't really talk about it's not even something I would publicly talk about here and say this is why we doing what it's for because it's super sacred and it's quiet something we do. quietly and those when you rents could illitch those boards are taken they're putting back inside their boxing they're putting put away. Forbidden for good reason, and then those were just sitting there at the front of the exhibit and I was like, oh no I cannot go I cannot walk in here. You know like I literally turned around and walked in the other direction and the person giving me a tour was like where are you going I said this is I can't go in here. This is inappropriate but you know that was a couple of years ago so I can completely relate to that Jamie. Well and I will say about the field museum they you know have taken down the old native American Culture Hall not the North West Coast but then American you know the other part of the hall and have been working with you know a collaborative team and a native earn indigenous Advisory Group to reinstall that and so you know there is you know some conversation happening there and some there's a great show their curated by a Nina Sanders Uppsala Women in Warriors that you know Sanders did supported by Miranda Roberts who's a curatorial fellow there, and so you know there I don't want to just like bash the field museum. You. Right. Yeah. Actually. Really want to see that show. It looks really cool. Yeah. My heart goes out to Nina and the team because it opened just like literally a week before every buddy needed to be at home and chiltern please Ram. So but it's such a feat in terms of just that that monumental of exhibit with Contemporary Indigenous Artists is there a a real world renown institution so big props to Nina entity. So.
