"Beginning, the long process of cleaning up and rebuilding. There is a silver lining to what's left of Vienna at least here in this area. Back on Friday, the flow of the Potomac river dropped below 2000 cubic feet per second at point of rock, Maryland. "Everyone. Wow, things got a little candy wampus over the last couple of weeks with the podcast and I'm so, so sorry. I just want to apologize up front. We add a little snafu with my editors and for whatever reason, my last podcast did not get published on time, the codependency podcast, one 90 6. And some of you might remember that I was on vacation. I went first to Key West, Florida with some friends for the first time, which was fabulous. And then I went up to Miami with the same friends to join O 5 or 600 other women. For the she recovers symposium first, but then the she recovers conference in Miami, which was, wow, we're real, all of us are unpacking how wonderful that was. In any case, that's why the podcast has not been published at its regular time, and then I just decided to sort of go with the flow, let the previous weeks, podcasts, published last week, and skip a week. So that's what's happening. I am still alive, although I think I may have caught COVID. I have a little bit of a cold aches, all that kind of stuff after flying home. And I will tell you y'all, it was worth it. I hope I don't get a serious case if I do in fact have COVID so far I've tested negative. But I'm gonna say, I think I'll be okay. I'm next and double boosted, not double boosted. Am I double boosted? No, I'm vexed, and I'm boost. God. There's so much to keep track of these days. But there you have it. That's what happened. And I'm just going to keep going. Today I'm going to talk about a topic that piggybacks on episode one 96. What I'm going to talk about today is branching out into, okay, so I sort of know what codependency is. I definitely qualify as someone with codependency characteristics, so now what Lin. Well, I want to talk about how that affects your communication and your boundaries. Doesn't that sound fun? Come on, y'all. We can do it. To get a going, I'm going to just read some questions. To see if this podcast is for you. First, do you have an overwhelming sense that you are not understood by your partner by your family? I'm most people that you have relationships with. Number two, are you suppressing your own needs? To get care and love from a challenging partner or a challenging family member, do you even know what your personal needs are? Do you stay with a partner, even though you recognize harmful and unhealthy behavior patterns? Do you talk about those unhealthy and harmful behavior patterns? Are you experiencing communication problems and boundary issues in your relationships? Look around be honest with yourself. Have you given up your own identity? Career? Life desires, interests, and needs. To meet your families or partners needs. That's a lot of us. Do you find yourself devoted and sacrificing for your partner at the expense of your self? The care of yourself, the emotional needs of yourself. Your mental, physical, body, the whole shebang bang. Are you putting yourself first ever? For many of us, the answer to these questions will be disturbing. If we really think about them, and I know I just got a review where someone said that I laugh at times that might be inappropriate, I think they may be right. I do that on purpose. I want you all to know that this stuff is heavy stuff. Yep, but we do not need to talk about it in a heavy way. Why? Because it is so prevalent. It is such a part of our lives that we are not been talking about, that we have not been addressing for centuries. Multiple generations that, yeah, I giggle about it because it is so crazy, if you will, stay with me. I'm not using technical clinical terms here that we have not been able to see the flaw. In the way that we are raising our kids, each other, not talking about this stuff. So that's why I lend a laugh every now and then, or maybe a lot. Codependency is a behavior pattern whereby you allow yourself to depend on other people's approval. Of your self worth as a human being as a mother as a husband as a wife as a father as whatever role you first attached to yourself. Instead of being human whatever you put in front of, you mean a human being. If you are putting yourself last. You are likely engaged in codependent behavior and need help with communication and boundaries. That's what today is for. There are real effective ways that are not that difficult. To learn and practice, that will help you be more effective in communicating your needs, first deciding what your needs are and understanding why those needs are important for you, but sometimes that takes a longer time for so, so many of us, we have not participated in good communication. So this is going to be a little hard. Effective communication has to begin with self knowledge. Learning how to confidently with knowledge inform your partner or your family member that they have crossed a line, a boundary, what is not okay with you, that gut feeling that says, oh, that did not feel right. When they have done that within a relationship, we often isolate. Go within shut down, we're intimidated. It's scary. It's conflict. We must learn that conflict is not bad. It is necessary in order for us to move through life. We must be able to sit in conflict. Yet most of us were told the exact opposite, avoid it at all costs..
CNN Publishes Mother of All Kamala Harris Exposés
"So there's a couple stories that I want to try to put together here. But the first and the most interesting story quite honestly. And it's interesting in a way that you might think is the sudden and unexpected. Kind of shade war and stories that were coming out against cami. Against Kamala Harris. So late on Sunday evening on the front page of CNN were at least 6 or 7 different stories. 6 or 7 separate stories. That we're covering how The White House is at odds with one another. On the front page of CNN dot com last evening, here's where the headlines were this. Harris struggles with her relationship with Biden. Vice president's team tries the distance herself from fraught situation at the border. Harris looks to turn page as she zeros in on voting rights. White House goes into damage control after reports of dysfunction in Kamala Harris's office. 5 stories against Kamala Harris on the front page of CNN dot com. Exasperation and dysfunction inside Kamala Harris's frustrating start as vice president. Now, this is not Fox News dot com. This is not zero hedge dot com. Is that breitbart dot com? This is CNN dot com. That is reporting this. Worn out by what they see as entrenched dysfunction, and a lack of focus Key West west wing aides have largely thrown up their hands at vice president Kamala Harris. And her staff deciding there simply isn't time to deal with them right now. Especially at the moment, when president Joe Biden faces quickly multiplying legislative and political concerns. I continues by saying defenders and people who came for Harris are getting frantic. When they're annoyed, some pass around recent onion stories, mocking her lack of substantive work, one with the headline, quote, White House urges Kamala Harris, the Senate computer all day in case emails come through. When they're depressed, they bat down the Aaron Sorkin style rumor that Biden might try to replace her by nominating her to a Supreme Court vacancy. That chatter has already reached the top levels of Biden orbit, according to one person who's heard it. She is perceived according to CNN dot com to be in a weak position. That top Democrats in and outside of Washington have begun to speculate privately. Her job as number two is to be helpful and supportive to the president and to take work on he asks and who asks her to be intelligence briefing. This is a multi page hit piece. Double sided by the way. CNN dot
Exploring the Disney Springs Resort Area: Should You Stay Here?
"We're going to be talking. All about the disney springs resort area. Disney springs resort area. One of four. What i call it the disneyworld neighborhoods. I like to talk about them that way. There's the magic kingdom neighborhood the best one and if you are longtime listener you may remember back in episode eleven quite a while ago we talked about the magic kingdom resort area. So if you want to listen to that and you haven't heard it head on back to episode eleven and then of course there's the epcot resort area and the animal kingdom resort area but today we are focusing on the disney springs resort area. Which is pretty underrated. I think it's i think. It's the most underrated resort area of all because it does not have theme parks associated with it so people just overlook it well. What if you don't like the theme parks or what if you don't know what's actually around there so that's what we're going to talk about today. It's sort of exploring. The disney springs resort area one of our favorite neighborhoods. I think it's grown on us over time. Wouldn't you say that. Oh yeah definitely because you start discovering more and more things you can do. That are not necessarily park related which i mean now with the parks being super weird. That might be a good thing for you to go and try and first. Let's talk about accommodations to start with. Because there are two deluxe disney resort villas properties rate at disney springs. One of them is disney's saratoga springs resort and spa which is quite a nice spa. And the other is disney's old key west resort. Both of these are kind of similar in a sense similar in a sense we prefer saratoga springs personally. Because you know why. I forget why i just know i do. Because it's walkup if you stay in college park it's walkable to disney springs so both of these resorts that's not a plus for me are located on or around lake point of vista. Which is the body of water at disney springs. In case you did not know that also the main street name most of the streets so very popular very popular name buena vista and not is lake boina vista and in this area. You can choose to stay if you wanna stay in. Disney deluxe resort or disney resort. You have to deluxe villas choices and villas are great. Because if you haven't stayed in one we've talked about those a lot. You get kitchens. Basically and laundry and kitchen. That's depending on the size. Both of these resorts are sort of set up like little communities like little subdivisions almost. They're not really hotel. Like in the way that you'd think of other hotels

Without Cruise Ships, Key West Residents Are Enjoying A Quieter, Clearer Harbor
"In twenty nine thousand nine. Almost a million people visited the small island of key west florida by cruise ship since late march. Twenty twenty the island like the rest of the country has had no cruise ship traffic. The whole industry was shut down by the pandemic now. Cruise lines are preparing to start sailing in the us again. As soon as this summer as wwl are ns. Cuba: a vintage playground
"Type freida. Hey carmen. what's up. I am convinced. Let's go to cuba carmen. Then go to cuba freedom. Yeah have never been as adults. Were both born in cuba. I've went back to cuba. When i was seven and when i was ten with my family but i haven't been back since then. I haven't ever been back ever since i left. So this episode deals with a question that we get asked a law when anyone learns that. We are cuban specifically that we were born there three days. Have you ever been back. Inevitably what we hear the most is. I want to go to cuba changes and this is so low added a lot of the times. I don't really know what to respond to that. I kind of just smile and say oh. Yeah that's that's interesting. And then i turned to subjects. Let's break it down so the first part. I want to go to cuba for some people. You can stop the sentence there and it's already a problem. I want to go to cuba. Those are folks who are typically in the pro embargo anti travel camp. Just saying that to a cuban american. Who's in that camp will cause some tension but saying that you want to go before it changes. I think illicit something even people who feel more comfortable end and actually might even encourage the idea of engagement and interaction between the two countries. The us in cuba. Because it suggests that you don't want cue to change the group of people that are saying this that they want to keep it before it changes those. Those people are not cuban those people are gingas or they're latinos. That are living in the us but this is a very us centric point of view because lots of people have been vacationing cuba for a very long time namely the canadians. People from the uk spaniards even australians. Make that track. Lots of people go to cuba. And it's not so taboo or forbidden. So cuban americans specifically cuban-americans with family in the island have been able to go to cuba for the entirety of time line. Were about to describe. Tourism to cuba can be divided. I think into three different stages. The first one is before nineteen fifty-nine before the revolution where americans were traveling to cuba nonstop. No problems if you've ever been to the keys of florida or key west. It's ninety miles from cuba and to this day if you travel there you see a bunch of old posters from the nineteen fifties and nineteen forty s. I traveled to cuba. Four dollar. cuba was open to americans end. Americans were coming in partying beautiful island and it was easy and cheap from key us then came the revolution and things changed entirely. Cuba didn't even think about tourism until almost the fall of the soviet union because it was out there in the middle of the caribbean trying to build entirely new indifferent economy who has time for tourism. After the fall of the soviet union cuba started to rebuild its tourist economy restrictions for americans. Traveling to cuba have existed since the embargo. Which has been in place since nineteen sixty two so the embargo the set of sanctions placed by the united states on cuba. The intention of the embargo. According to the united states is to encourage via sanctions for the cuban government and not be communist and potentially become democratic. Some of the restrictions include other countries not being able to trade with cuba for fear of consequences placed by the united states. Americans have not really been able to travel to cuba unless you're going for a very coordinated trip for example. A student trip or church trip in two thousand sixteen obama came out and said that americans be able to travel to cuba. I do not believe we can keep doing the same thing for over five decades and expect a different result. Moreover does not serve america's interests or the cuban people to try to push cuba towards collapse rushed to go. That's when people decided that they needed to go if they were going to go before. It changes recording this. In february of twenty twenty one trump reversed obama's policies travel restrictions returned for americans and right before trump leaves office. Cuba was placed back on the list of state. Sponsors of terrorism

So, speaking of great times, we're talking to Yoli and Alberto right now from the Fred Astaire Dance studio. They were telling us a little story about coming. To this country. And you only I know you really cut your story down and I appreciate that, But I have a lot of time. I know on the radio this morning, but your story is amazing. You risked your life coming from Cuba. You said that you guys had to meet at night behind the Morro Castle. There's a whole bunch of people who are gonna get on the boat and thank God they didn't all get on the boat because of all the troubles you guys had, but 15 long hours later. You get your foot onto the sand in key west Now you're in the United States. Take it away from there. Tell us what happened in there. And then we got to talk about Alberto and how you two came together to form this studio. That's right. So, like you said it was. It was a very interesting trip. But yes, we made it saved to the United States were in key West were picked up two vans. Like I said, It was 35 of us totally to get on the 27. Ft boat can amazing back. Um, thank God. It didn't happen. It was only 17 of us, And once we got to the key West, then we got picked up and drove to Miami, where the family speaks other loved ones. And from there? Yeah. Thankfully, back then it was easier. You know, to get in here because you had that the Cuban, you know, what is that cold, Right the right to get here and get you know your paperwork. Stop. So from there, you know, I worked all kinds of things. I clean houses. I worked retails. I worked for chiropractors until, um, I came across this wonderful man that I have right next to me s O that was introduced the World dancing Forum, does it Oh, wow. Okay, and you learn to dance. From what I understand, just in the streets of Cuba. Is that right? I dead I did. You know it's dancing for us in Cuba. It's It's a cultural thing for us. So, um, I I always say this to my students and do something in Cuba. If you don't learn how to dance. You're not cool. So you have all right. And it's for the high If you don't dance. You don't get the girl. So you tell me so you always started dancing. She was very, very young age So, but I did learn and form dancing here threw Alberto because I was completely different Gold for me. I was getting myself some eye. But Chad that my medic get a typical dances. But ballroom dance. It was a completely different thing for me. Got it. Guy will. Ballroom dancing is totally different for me, too. So maybe you'll get me in the right path here. So, Alberto, you have you have a story that ends up the similar way. But your story wasn't quite as exciting as your only I got to tell you, but we still want to know where you came from. And then you So, basically I born in Cuba learning Cuba to dance, just like she said. I was forced to learn. I didn't like to dance. I just was forced to learn so I can have a girlfriend's. Then after that. I fell in love with dancing I can legally and 1997 to repair in There was like a lottery. Beezus and I win that lottery. But, he said, I was able to come to United States legally. They have moved from Miami Toe rushes to New York, close to Buffalo in the area of Buffalo over there super cold. And after being a mechanic and be working cars and working transmissions and stuff like that I have the opportunity to to become a dance structure. Curries enough. I didn't speak in English back in the time, so I had to figure out a way to teach my students with high language and and this is.

"Peace. Tommy Lasorda Of the Dodgers passes at 93 years old. All right. At the top of every travel guys. Radio show we get to the travel news. Mark what you got for us today? Well, let's see here. We mentioned in the headlines that some people got little rowdy on airplane flights to and from Washington, D. C. American in Alaska Airlines apparently had the most problems. Alaska had a flight with rowdy people coming back from D. C to Seattle. On Thursday, and 14 of those people who were on that flight will never fly with Alaska Airlines ever again. So they didn't behave themselves. American Airlines had some problems. One of the pilots, this was a flight on Friday from Washington see back to Phoenix. Um, he got on and said that We'll put this plane down in the middle of Kansas and dump people off. If we have to. I don't care. We'll do what it would have to take, so behave yourself. When they were. They were not. They were refusing to leave their masks on, and they were harassing the flight crews and stuff like that. And I'm not sure that that has any place. Um, you know, those people are just trying to do their job in the sky. So no matter what your political beliefs are or what team you're rooting for, or whatever. That's that doesn't go with those people's job description. We told you a few weeks ago, back in in November, Actually, people in key West had voted to limit the size and number of cruise ships that would come To their small town and I endorsed it because I love key West and I've been there before. When there are three large cruise ships and you can't move. And the little town is just not quite built to accommodate that number of people. So they said, Well, you know, we'll just take ships that are this big. And when I take so many people at a time, well, the state government in Florida State Legislature has introduced a bill to reverse the key West cruise ship ban. If you recall, we've already had another community that has followed behind that. I want to say somebody up in the Cape Cod area or somebody like that. But anyways, um This. The bill's language have approved by the House and the Senate in Florida and signed into law by the governor will make the recent decision by Key West officials moot. And you got to remember that Florida is a big, big, big cruise ship. State. So the ships you know they have their home ports are in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Ah, lot of them. And some days you've got half a dozen ships leaving on any given day and a lot of those air weekly cruises. Those ships leave every week. So it's big business to the state of Florida. Then you've got little key West that's down around the corner. If you look on the map in the state, they're just far enough that you'd have to spend a day sailing to it. It's still a U. S destination, a popular destination, But it just wasn't built to handle three or four cruise ships today, So we'll keep an eye on this and see what happens. United Airlines has joined a growing list of airlines to ban emotional support animals since the new regulations came down a few weeks ago. Now this is what it's pretty much coming down to United American Delta Alaskan JetBlue say. No longer allowing any animals on board in the cabin for free. Unless it is a service dog. You will have to prove that it is a valid service dog. No more of these certificates and the vest that you bought online for $45. So, um, if you've got a service dog, and you have a legitimate disability, and you can prove that the check at the check in counter that the dog is trained to help you what they specific disability then or you. Probably There's probably some documentation you could do contact the airline. But If you can't do that, The animal doesn't fly in a cabin. So the cockatoos and the parakeets and the ostriches and the great Danes and all of the rest of them if the animal will fit in a carrying In a carrier and go under or in front of your seat. Depending on where you are on the airplane, then that's fine. You can no longer buy an additional seat for the pet. So on the number of pets on planes will be limited. For people who have legitimate service animals. They're gonna welcome this because they're going to not get his many questions. They won't have as many people competing. With them who are not legit and for people who want to take fluffy on the plane with them. All I have to say, is that they're just way too many fluffy's and fluffy piece on the floor in the airport. And does other things and gets in fight with other dogs and stuff like that. And those of us who don't bring Fluffy's. We're done with it. So the rules have changed. And so if you take fluffy with you, you best call the airline before you go out Next time. I know I would least if you're listening there in the studio. I think it's time for us to get mark of Fluffy. What do you think? Yes, that OK? Yeah. Yeah, well, I always get away from the fluffy mark. I always get two or three nasty May emails after I talk about Service dogs and emotional support animals. And how much it means to him and stuff, and I just said, Go to the I wrote him back and said, Go to your doctor and tell him the same story. You just told me it's probably a chance that you could get the dog certified as A service animal. Well, you know, I mean, depending on how large the poodle is, I mean, people fly with animals under the, uh, under their feet. Uh, quite frequently, you know, at 95 bucks of Flight on and and and all of that's okay. You're you're talking about the fake service animals that people eggs Mandy. Florida Makes Plans To Welcome Back Tourists, Revive Economy
"Florida is making plans to restart. Its economy tourism is one of its biggest industry so this would mean okay so tells. Beaches theme parks. Estate Task Force is releasing recommendations today on when that might be safe. Here's NPR's Craig. Allen Research shows the crow viruses spread by close contact especially indoors because of that Florida Governor Rhonda Satis believes many of Florida's attractions can be enjoyed safely. A lot of the things we offer you know it's more of the outdoors in the sunshine. And and I think that that's just a better environment to be in in Florida until the corona virus. Nearly one and a half million people worked in the hotels restaurants theme parks and related businesses. A young the CEO of the State's tours maiden see this week rolled out a marketing plan. That's ready for hotels restaurants and other businesses. Get the green light to reopen. Young says. The good news is that more people have been visiting. The states travel. Safety Information Page recently tells us that people want to know if it is safe to travel to Florida because desired visit our state still exists covered the saddest encouraging local governments to reopen beaches activities. Like running walking swimming while maintaining social distancing guidelines but in southeast Florida from Palm Beach to Key West. Some of the state's top tourist destinations. The beaches remain closed in Miami beach. The mayor says they likely won't be reopened there for June. That decision hasn't been popular with people. Like Phillip Goldfarb. He's President of the fountain blue a landmark Miami Beach Hotel. He says allowing resort hotels to welcome visitors without also opening. The beaches is a mistake. GonNa come and stay at a luxury hotel or a resort or a regular that you'd want to be a go to the beach Florida's largest attractions. It's theme parks. Also considering how to reopen the CEO of Universal Orlando John Spouse says handling potentially thousands of guests in a way that keeps them. Safe is a challenge but theme parks. He says have some advantages. Each are parts alone is over a hundred and twenty five years. Total conflicts is nearly eight hundred eight years. We have a greater ability to practice and enforce social distancing while still allowing guests to experience our parts at first attendants would likely be limited among the things being discussed is screening employees and guests when they enter the park encouraging face coverings and sanitizing rides throughout the day. Universal says it will create social distance spaces for guests by staggering seating on rides and shows sproul says it will also move to virtual lines already in use at its waterpark. We minimize the amount of time. Anybody waiting in any kind of lying there for standing in a group Waiting to take one of the attractions. And we're going to take that urge align technology and expanded to many of our attractions as possible as to win. The parks might reopen spouse. Would only say hopes it will be sooner rather than later. Dr. Eileen Mardi and Infectious Disease Expert at Florida. International University is not so optimistic safely reopening large attractions like sports stadiums and theme parks before. There's a vaccine or better testing available. She says we'll be difficult. Particularly the big theme parks draw individuals from all over the world. And not just from a community so it it. It's a much more challenging thing to figure out how to open those parks up safely. Industry analysts are divided on. How soon theme parks can reopen one analyst predicts Disney? The industry leader may reopen? Its parks as early as June but a report released by another financial firm. Said BECAUSE OF HEALTH CONCERNS. Disney's parks will likely be closed until January

"Who lived in Key West he was a German immigrant he was about fifty years old when I got to Key West he had been a prisoner of war during World War one he believed himself to be in contact with occult powers you know when you have visions all the time one of his ancestors was evidently an alchemist of some kind according to him and he wrote a great deal about occultism and spiritual forces he moved to Key West mysteriously falls in love with a patient at a local hospital who has tuberculosis tries to cure her of tuberculosis it didn't work she died she was very young in her early twenties and he saves her corpse this is I'm not making this up she she builds a mausoleum especially for her moves the corpse into the mausoleum and starts attaching tubes and pipes and machines and everything else to try to keep the body viable and he's doing all of this at a time when love craft you know is coming down to Key West and of course love crest wrote a very famous series of stories called Herbert west of re animator about reanimating dead tissue about reanimating dead bodies and here's somebody actually doing it in Key West so these are the things that go into the novel these are parts of the code is I call them you know the part of the codex and this is a guy that was getting a check every month from the German government you know I mean the I find that very suspicious of the whole thing to me was quite suspicious of German agent you know working at a U. S. marine hospital as an X. ray technician in the nineteen thirties right from nineteen forty when he's arrested because he's been you basically he has a court at his house that he's robbed so he got arrested for that but he was let off because the statute of limitations has run out so here's this weird old guy and he looked very very strange I mean he was sort of a strange with a wispy haired bearded fellow with a very penetrating gaze and he actually wrote about the story of him you know and his his Cuban love this this woman who died and he wrote extensively about it in his articles were published in you know one of ray Palmer's magazine feel fantastic stories or something like that so I mean this is a guy with very strange background who is moving in the same fictional circles as love craft in the sense so I found this very very fascinating is only one aspect of Lovecraft's life that you know the really struck me as something that's very possible here was there any dark side to him because he he wrote obviously horrible walks what was he was he dark himself to the experience evil things I don't think he experienced people things necessarily he had some issues obviously people who've read his work of note the racism this is clear in blood crafts writings at least until about the the towards the end of his life he kind of mellowed out a little bit but when he was living in Brooklyn he had an outpouring of New York City he the the various races that were living there all all over the place we do really drove him nuts he lived in a section of Brooklyn that today is Brooklyn heights but in those days was called considered part of red hook and it was a an Arab middle eastern area and he freaked out about that you know he had all of these issues with people who were different than he was he wanted to go back to living in New England and be basically a country squire you know when a country gentleman and the what he encountered in the city is really turn them off and even in Florida he had issues with that as well so he was reacting up to a lot of these things and like I say his upbringing was very strange he grew up with insanity basically and his family and his dream of becoming a scientist and astronomer was taken away from and so there was darkness there I mean for someone who profess to be an atheist he wrote a lot about ancient gods in ancient beings and dark things at the very edges of consciousness and hauntings and horrible things he he wrote about that all the time and it might have been just a way for him to exercise those demons from his own consciousness no doubt about that okay let's get into some of the things you write about a man called Carl tens LRE yeah who is he was the man I I was mentioning that's the German doctor all right that's him but he calls himself the doctor he really wasn't a medical man but he cadence of a lot of titles was he when he was real well it was a real person absolutely there's a museum in Key West today you can visit that museum is dedicated to Carl consular and that and the woman that he loves his body he he tried to resuscitate over a period of years you know I mean this is the woman diet I think in nineteen thirty one and they didn't really find the body until nineteen forty I mean translucent had moved the body from the mausoleum when things got a little too hot and moved the body into his house you know on a wagon he dragged his body in a little bit high from the cemetery you know on a basically small red wagon back into his house and try to finish the job of resuscitating her there he was also building an airplane that he was going to fly this airplane to the South Pacific with with his lady once she was resuscitated I mean the guy was out there you know the totally and yeah and yet he managed to function you know all the way up until his arrest and finally they very the woman again for the last time in a secret place no one knows where she is buried because they didn't want him coming back and picking her up so this is a real person all right now as we look at some of the things that have been going on in terms of as you talk about sinister forces that are at work today what's fueling that Peter yeah I mean it's it's one of those things that they like I said I focus on a great deal of been trying to put my finger on what it is especially now that we're experiencing this kind of convergence between technology and consciousness it becomes more and more important for us to understand what dark things might be lurking underneath this this consciousness that we have there is a tendency to believe that artificial intelligence is the same as consciousness of that intelligence anyway is the same as a kid can't be it's it's not there's too much emotion involved in consciousness into meant to many other things and it's these things that we are ignoring I think to our peril the sinister forces I wrote about in the trilogy sinister forces always pointing out synchronicity isn't coincidences in historical events that simply don't make any sense taken on their own so many of the the coincidences around the Kennedy assassination for instance and of the things of that nature the there's just so much of that that you begin to realize that there is another kind of of reality or a force in in the universe in consciousness perhaps that communicates to us through symbols through emotions through through religion which is really the the best sort of medium for it that's why the colts are so powerful and minutes when the **** could become so powerful because they're able to manipulate directly the emotions Hitler himself said that he said I want to go straight to the emotions I want to by pass the intellect because I don't want to bother people with a lot of philosophy a lot of political ideology is so let's just go straight to the emotions we can we can manipulate the masses that we manipulate crowds and I see the same concept it's cold in my trilogy a cult the Manson secret the reference to Charles Manson because there was a writer called ed Sanders wrote about Charles Manson and he said if the Pentagon ever formulated the Manson secret the whole world would be in trouble and that really struck me I thought well what's the Manson secret and Charles Manson did basically the same thing that Hitler did and that's it on a smaller scale but you're right me on a smaller scale but you're right smaller scale certainly but it's the same it's the same technology the same methodology and we see it today with the the Islamic state for instance you know with all their publications their videos there their internet presence of social media presence they're basically doing the same thing they're trying to appeal directly to some kind of an emotional layer in our consciousness by passing the intellect as much as possible that's the reason for all of these really hideous things that they that they put out there it's to go straight to our unconscious mind as he goes to talk to us below are rational level and they're able to do that effectively with a large number of people who wouldn't ordinarily be affected this way suddenly you find people who grew up in a middle America deciding to become warriors for the state so it none of that makes sense to us but if we look at the at the **** phenomenon if we look at the Charles Manson phenomenon in small scale if we look at all of that we begin to realize there's something to it there's a there's a a common denominator between all of these processes there was a man called William Sargant back in the nineteen fifties he was a scientist who was heavily involved in the M. K. ultra tight and coloring United States and in the U. K. and he talked about the conversion process and that's what I think we're talking about here he was really focused on how politicians as well as the religious leaders have the same technique the same message and the the how the use of the same steps in order to create devoted followers even people who would never in a million years consider themselves to you know join something.
