You know wanting to raise indy cars add so it's be able to go there and actually compete and win is fulfilling. Your childhood dreams so. Every time I go to indy look forward to driving in that tunnel, and and you know I. Think as as you look at this weekend. one of the parts that will actually miss his driving in that tunnel. All practices going or something is on the racetrack. Because there's there's really nothing more special to me than than in being able to you know. Think back to the things that you did as. As a kid and wanting to to go there and rates one day, and so winning last year was was really special, and you know having hyper there, and my my whole family there, and having those pictures, or are you know one of the one of the coolest things that that all have when when my racing career is over so India's a is a special place for me and I enjoy. Coming back each year to to show up and company, how his strategy playing a role without practice or qualifying for the most part we, we've talked about it before the race enduring the race, I typically just let them handle it just because they have way more information, but in from the driver standpoint. It's it's a little bit more stressful because you aren't really around the cars all the time that you're racing and you know that if you give up a little bit here to give up a little bit air, you don't know how much they give free traffic or Coming back through the field or what strategy there on so from driver's standpoint, it's a little more stressful and you know you have to push every lap in order to make sure you get the most out to give up the least amount of time, so it's just A. It's a different style race, which is good, right you, you know you have all these different elements play in different styles of race tracks said that you know the same style and element that play and all the other racetracks so. It's actually more stressful in my opinion. Because you yarn, you can't judge it off a car that is around you at somewhere else on the racetrack, but it all cycles

Mnuchin Says U.S. Will Consider Another Round of Stimulus Checks
"Some good news for those who are hoping for another stimulus check from the federal government. Eric Watson is a congressional reporter for Bloomberg Very strong. Steve Mnuchin came out a two White House today and said, they're looking very strongly. Another stimulus package looking another round of direct payments checks the $1200 check two individuals They're good looking at help for businesses and possibly some age of state lost revenue. We also seeing Kevin McCarthy's a House Republican leader. He did a press conference this morning as well as saying that he and which McConnell, the leader in the Senate, are looking at doing a package by the end of July, I think is very much still alive issue. You know, even though the unemployment rate is down to 11% still historically very high and the president's motivated with the election coming up to make sure that that number gets even lower pain, Wally says there is ongoing disagreement over additional federal aid for states and localities. Republicans. They're worried that Some governors are going to try to fudge the numbers and make up for physically responsible policies intentions in the past, they want to see really documented Cove. It related losses, expenses and really narrow that down. The Democrats propose a trillion dollars in that age. Another big point of contention is on unemployment insurance at the top priority for for liberals in the House. They want to see the $600 per week bump that a lot of unemployed people are receiving. Now through the end of July. They wanted it extended, possibly the next March, while linking that to state's unemployment rate, So if things do look better in Texas or another place Like that, then that would drop off. But Republicans are growing in many parts of the country, especially, you know, in the upper Midwest or elsewhere where wages or much Well, our people are receiving a significant premium over their normal salary. Your wages By staying in unemployment that could hinder the ability of especially small businesses soak your people back to the workforce. So that is a real bone of contention. I think it's going to be a really tough one to crack. Ah, but at least one Ah, Senator yesterday was telling me on the Republican side with me. We'll go to $200 will go a little bit lower, so let's get to a dollar number. I think it's a possibility for common ground Zaric wasin from

Harvey Weinstein Survivors Awarded $19 Million Settlement
"York State's attorney general and lawyers have reached a tentative settlement in the class action lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein and his former company. It would create a fund worth nearly $19 million for plaintiffs who alleged sexual misconduct by Weinstein was aided by the Weinstein company. NPR's Andrew Limbong reports the settlement is getting mixed reactions from some accusers. A statement from Elizabeth Fagan, whose law firm represents a number of the accuser says the settlement was the culmination of years of hard work by survivors and quote a victory for all women in Hollywood. But lawyers Douglas Wigdor and Kevin Minter, who also represent a handful of the accuser's criticized the agreement, saying it lets Harvey one scene avoid accepting any responsibility or paying any of his own money. A federal judge still needs to approve the deal, but it would allow claimants to receive anywhere between 7500 to $750,000 depending on their experiences. Weinstein is currently serving a 23 year prison sentence for rape. Andrew Limbong NPR news
Wimbledon Re-Lived 1985
"Hello, everyone and welcome to tennis relived Wimbledon relived day three. We've taken a trip back to nine hundred, seventy, eight and nineteen, eighty and today we're taking a trip back to nineteen eighty five. We are firmly now in the territory of David, laws voiced and cavernous memory I. Don't know if that's a good thing necessarily, but but it's where we are you doing David. I I'm enjoying trip down memory lane, and yeah, it's it's. It's very interesting. Watching scenes from my childhood that I have not watched since and trying to. Find out whether my twelve year old brain. Had any sort of accuracy in its its conclusions. You couldn't quite remember watching the one thousand nine hundred eighty book McEnroe final that we covered yesterday. The you were aware of it in your consciousness. Do you remember watching? Boris Becker Kevin Curren Nine, thousand, nine, hundred five. You remember where you were. Vividly. Are would typically do you remember what your head was like? It was appalling. It was it was probably quite similar to Kevin. Currency if I'm honest. All sort of curly and waffly. So I would have been twelve years of age I just got into the the senior school is as we used to call it and I was just watching Wimbledon back toback hour upon hour, and there was nothing else tennis wise to watch I didn't even know. Existed I was absolutely fascinated after that tournament to try to find. Opportunities to see a tennis match with Boris Becker playing somewhere else. To See. 'cause I couldn't understand how. How does Barsebaeck not win every tennis match that he plays given how hard he hits the ball, I knew nothing of clay coats and hardcourts and things that did as a twelve year old seeing seventeen year old win Wimbledon. Did it did it make you think oh? Crikey, I'd better start achieving some life goals I remember I remember watching the dull when the French Open realizing we the same age and thinking. Catherine! You've achieved nothing in your life. Salt. Out. The way couldn't it could inspire you or it could make you feel like enough to fight. Now on C., no, because twelve to me seventeen was really old, and seventeen was basically a man, and I was such a young child including my age, but I look back at it now, and it does make me shudder to think of what this we having just watched it to watch. This guy who seventeen who physically is easing credible presence, and he's muscular and strong and strapping, but he's got this really young. Young, face, and he you hear him. We've just had him interviewed after the match as well and and it does make me shudder to think my word this on his shoulders, and yet it was also very exciting at the same time. Not your formative Tennessee's will have been spent watching Boris Becker the pundit. Boris Becker the coach. I know obviously you'll have been very aware of know what he achieved in his career, but actually. Watching it back in seeing a seventeen year old Boris Becker wate struck by. Well. It's actually quite difficult to reconcile as you were saying the Boris Becker. I've always known with this Boris Becker. I actually think that this achievement of voice rose Becker winning Wimbledon seventeen oversee I've always been aware of it, but I and in many ways it's. It's become a more extraordinary achievement as time has passed, and as the sport has got kind of older, and it's hard to make those breakthrough so young, but also in a way. It's actually one of those achievements, which is so of its time that if you didn't live through it, it's really quite difficult to understand the impact that it had and the feeling that it gave people, so it's interesting to go back and read about it and walked in here David's memories of it. I mean what I'm struck by is the sense of belonging that he seems to have on that court. He is striding around the coal like he owns the place. He would go on to say that it was his living room. Denise and Toco famously, but and it's like that he's. He's walking with such confidence playing such. Tennis okay, it's one thing to have the game another thing to believe in the game and know that it's a game that you can win, and that just comes through on just as you watch all the match really. I didn't anywhere with confidence when I was seventeen I was just to a crippled bull of angst. And Self Doubt I. Mean I I just can't relate. Assholes, everyone, stop looking at me. Not Looking at you, you think everyone is looking at you any of that. Yeah I think my my mum describe. That is the peculiar phase when you didn't like taping taken.
New York to parents: Choose your job — or your kids
"Is a columnist for The New York Post and a contributor here on Tuesdays to Kevin McCullough radio. Carol, You're not pleased with the approach that Governor Cuomo has taken on the whole well, just like it or lump it kind of approach, right? No, I think you're absolutely right that his not having skin in the game really matters here and the fact that Bill deblasio New York City's bear does, either it matters. It's better that they don't have to live by the policies that they're prescribing. And so, of course, that's often true for politicians. But it's really specifically true here, where Governor Cuomo for a long time wouldn't even open day camps, which is, you know, essentially daycare in the in the summer for parents. And what his comment was you? I wouldn't send my kids. Your kids are teenagers. I hope you wouldn't send your kids on Boulder. So, yeah, it's a real issue that they don't Have any kind of involvement in the policies of their pushing, and it's way past the time to decide the school should open and his light about, you know, looking at the facts looking at the facts. The facts say kids do not get this kids do not spread this. And we're really damaging a generation of Children just because we're so afraid. Not Only
Louisiana Abortion Law Struck Down by Supreme Court
"US Supreme Court has delivered a major defeat to abortion opponents by a 5 to 4 vote, the court struck down in Louisiana law that was virtually identical to a Texas law invalidated by the court four years ago. As NPR's Nina Totenberg reports. The fifth and decisive vote was cast by Chief Justice John Roberts. Four years ago. The chief justice was among the dissenters when the court struck down a Texas law that required doctors performing clinic abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital. But today he voted with the courts for liberal justices in striking down a nearly identical law in Louisiana. He wrote for himself alone, however, and said he was joining the Liberals on the outcome because of the doctrine of starry decisis. Which is the legal term for standing by the court's precedents. It instructs us to treat like cases alike, he said, and the Louisiana law burdens women seeking pre viability abortions to the same extent as the Texas law did four years ago. The value of following precedent, he added, is that it promotes the evenhanded, predictable and consistent development of legal principles. Foster's reliance on judicial principles and contributes to the actual and perceived integrity of the judicial process. While president is not an inexorable demand, he said, Simple disagreement with a previous decision is not enough to justify reversing course in this case. Not only is the Louisiana law issue virtually identical to the one struck down four years ago. But the District Court judge who held an extensive trial in the case found that if the law were to go into effect at minimum, two of the three abortion clinics in the state would be forced to close women would have to wait longer and drive further for abortions, and only one doctor would likely be left to fill the demand for 10,000 women seeking abortions in the state each year. Abortion providers and defenders were to say the least relieved. Here's Kathleen Pittman, administrator of the Hope medical group that runs a clinic in Shreveport, Louisiana. To say we're related hardly begins to come close to what? Where you're failing. I'm celebrating today, but I'm still worried about our future. And Nancy, north of president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, echoed that sentiment. Well, we are taking the Supreme Court cases one victory at a time. We are under no illusions that the fight is over with this case, you know, it's welcome all over and over again. And Leah Lippman, a professor at the University of Michigan Law School, cautioned That Robert's decision sets out a standard different from the one adopted by the court. In the past, the chief justice's reasoning was actually quite permissive in what it would allow states to do to restrict abortion. That said, however, the decision does appear to rule out state laws that, for instance, Ban abortions at 68 12 weeks or any other time prior to fetal viability. Even James Bop, general counsel for Americans United for Life, sees those bands as dead in the water. I've been saying for 10 years that those approaches are doomed to failure. The bop was disappointed in the Roberts opinion. He saw some hope he gives half alone. He sees the Roberts opinion as enabling states to mandate ultrasounds for those seeking an abortion. As well as allowing states to ban abortions for certain reasons, for instance, because of fetal disability or sex. And he sees the decision as sending a message to anti abortion voters tells the pro life movement that President Trump fulfills its promises with his appointment of Gorsuch and Kevin all and that we need Trump reelected in order to make future appointments, political groups on the right and left we're making that very point today. Were one of the liberal justices to retire and two of them are over 80. Another Trump appointment to the high court could make Roberts vote irrelevant. Given that mathematical reality, today's decision is likely to play a significant role in the upcoming election. Polling data has consistently shown a hefty majority of the public approve the right to abortion. But while Americans held similar views in 2016 exit polling at that time showed Trump was able to turn out Maura of his vote based on his stated goal of naming conservative and anti abortion justices to the court. Getting Your Feedback Understood
"Last week here. I talked about the first step in giving effective feedback, the first thing that must happen and today we're gonNA. Talk about the second thing in the four step process, but before I get to that second. Let's review the four steps, shall we? First feedback must be heard. People can't take action on something that they haven't heard second. It must be understood. They have to get it. That's what we're GonNa talk about today third. It must be accepted. They can't take action on it until they accept it. Find it valid not only understand it, but have it make sense to them. And seem valuable to them. And then lastly all of those things must happen before it will be applied so those are the four things that we've got to do last week. We talked about getting your feedback heard today. We WanNa make sure we get it understood and again we can't force people to understand good communicators make sure that they get message received, and that's what I WANNA do. Today is talk about that in the context of feedback. What can we do to improve the chances that the feedback that we want to give that we want people to apply? What can we do to make sure that they understand? Improve the chances that they understand it six ideas. Here's the first. Feedback must be about the other person. You've had someone gives you feedback before when it was all about them, right? You need to do this for me. You're not making this work, and it's all really not about the receiver, but about the other person their egos in it. There examples are about how to make it better for them. It's not really about you at all, and so it's hard to understand it because it's not going to get through. And in fact, we're already questioning that senator when they do it that way. The second thing is give them examples. I WANNA. Give you feedback I need to explain to you what I mean by giving examples. Here's when I saw this happen three times this week. This happened. Here's the way it went down. Whatever it is that you say, however you get into it. You got to be very specific and give examples think about how they talk about in the courtroom. What actually happened right? Give them examples, which means that needs to be something that can be observed. So you WANNA. Be Specific, because if we just talk in generalities, people might not really understand US sometimes. We try to be softer with people, so we don't get specific enough, and they never really understand, or they think they understand it, but it's really not clear next have data sometimes we can give them feedback by showing them the information. Here's the call log. Here's the report. Here are the here's where it went. Wow, here's where it didn't go so well. Have the data's because here's the thing if we can give them specifics and make it

Even though we're Kinda already there we're just talking about business at ways that you can support the Kevin Long show and Southgate Media Group but the meat of the show. Last time I did a podcast. It was the top ten best D. modules of all time and I know I didn't put all time in. I also know that there are still so many more D- D. Modules to be written that we can't say all time but I on. That list was be what? I love be one. I enjoy more than B. Two and maybe that's because I haven't played to a lot I just like be one better. There's so much good stuff in it and there's really nothing in it. You put all the good stuff in it however there are a few things in it that are good like magic mouse as you're walking down the hallways if you don't go in the secret way the rock that gives you think a wish or whatever but the magic rock that nobody knows how to get it and the only way you get its power is if you the peace and put it in your mouth the iconic pool room a lot of fun stuff in that room and I had this discussion the other day about how someone wanted to run an adventure but everybody probably knew what the adventure was just by the things that happen and I use this specific room as the example. Even if everyone you're playing with has done be one before. Change the pools make your own. Everybody's expecting full age to be a healing full make the pool that has carbon monoxide in it. Whatever or game change it up a no. It's dumb but this is my favorite part of the whole adventure. In one of the rooms there is a jar with a cat in it and if you open the jar the cat POPs out and runs right out of the room. If there's anything standing in front of the exit the cat runs right through it. Don't ask me why that's my favorite part. It just is and the room with Zoe. Bats thousands of bats. I have run this adventure as a one. He five eighty and a castles and crusades game. They've all been really fun. I have not ever finished any of them. In fact the five game was with my co workers at dairy queen and after the girl died because she wasn't watching her back and the knowles that were chasing them snuck in and murdered her. She didn't want to play anymore. And the group fell apart which is fine. There was only three of them anyway. And oh boy. In the castles and Crusades Game I put in one of the rooms living picture trapped thingy and somebody got sucked into it and the players figured out how to get them out but when the other player came out so did a frost giant had a red dragon. The players most of them being experienced realized that they should probably nope the hell out and they did but it was still fun. Those are my experiences with the B. One in search of the unknown. So for me myself by. Mahalo have a great day and now because I haven't updated the outgrow to include the clothing include the closing statements again. Thanks for listening to the Kevin Long show. Lots of good stuff and Yeah B. Two's pretty popular. But I personally like one better. I don't know maybe it's just okay for example the jar that has the phantom cat in it it's amazing and the magical rock and all that good stuff and be to just iconic. So why wouldn't it be on the list? I Dunno second brings us a Paladin in hell and I chose returned to White Plume Mountain Silver Edition Baby One day. I'm GonNa get all those sorts. "You Thomas playing inside which is not what he's done but Ryan Anderson and Thomas Davis would compete and probably share time. I I t Cole Holcomb as your weakside. Starting backer and I see Reuben foster or against the bostick or or somebody inside that there will be competition if those spots but I can call the identify if they draft chase young. You've got sweat ion itis pain. Alan Young in Carrigan. You know you have you have sweat and young you know. I think most people would say sweats one D. N. Young's the other. You got pain and Allen and ionitsis and Kerrigan. How do you make all that work? I'm all for more players rather than less players. But how how does that? All work pain Allen and and I in itis rotate inside. I can carrigan sweat rotate some and young plays most of it would be. That's how it would work for me. Is that have a pretty even three man rotation with more Jonathan Allen Itis in third down situations pain shown flashes as the rush? But I better pushing the pockets and I think Allen can continue to be a pretty good rusher so those those guys inside and then if taking his on the field for me. I'm playing eighty percent of the time. At least anti-sikh sweating Kerrigan probably sharing more time at that other defensive end spot and maybe Kerrigan is a first and second down in more so and and even.

"Got no problem with the or the way he's acted or the way he's transformed and and I got no problem with Tim Stain. Anything about Dwayne Haskins and I also don't believe it to be fake loved because I think Dwayne or Deangelis probably wants to see doing have success and that's the same. I guess I'm saying that because that's how I feel. I don't care if I'm wrong on Wayne. Haskins on a pre-draft evaluation. It was what I saw. I said it I believed firmly. I still have some doubts. I also really liked. Dwayne have had a chance to really get to know him have not showed him fake love. But I'm still not a hundred percent. Sure on his development is all that fair course saw fair but that but a lot of a lot of young people. Don't take it that way because they I shouldn't say young people. A lot of people in general don't accept criticism very well and they misinterpret criticism with the way you just laid it out is perfectly fair you know. It's like you like him personally. You want him to succeed. But based on you know you as an analyst evaluating him as a player you're not sure yet what's wrong with that nothing nothing. I think that I think it Dangelo took a couple of shots at him. But at the same time. I think what he was also saying is he was saying that he believes that the arrival of Kyle Allen is Ron Rivera essentially speaking about what he thinks about Twain Haskins and. I don't know if that's true I. I don't know if I buy that necessarily again. I go back to Rivera. Wouldn't be here. He wouldn't have been offered the job if he actually didn't believe that. Haskins had a chance to to be pretty good and if he wasn't going to give Dwayne a chance to be pretty good now that doesn't mean he's going to hand it to him and to me by the way. Kyle Allen Cooley isn't Brett Hundley or Matt Moore. He's he's a higher level than that because of the Carolina connection in in the system familiarity etc. Not to mention that I actually like I. I liked him last year at times. I like Texas. Aim 'em to me a lot to say that he's he's not more than a Matt Moore. Humbly at this point. I'm going to hold on. Let me backup the way Ron Rivera can present him as legitimate competition? So dwayne feels that if that's what he wants Twain to feel I think you've he's got a much better shot at doing that with Kyle Allen. Then he does with Matt Moore Brett. Hundley like to me when I saw the first of all they traded for the player okay. They sent a fifth rounder to Charlotte. Just by the immediately that that elevates that player into a level. That's different from the guy. The veteran that you're gonNA sign on a one year veteran minimum deal to be the true backup but the fact that he also coached him and so did Scott Turner and they liked him and he started twelve games for them. I think he can present him as a formidable competition like Duane. I don't believe I don't believe GonNa do that. You don't believe he's going to do. I'm telling you right now. He's not going to do that. Who'S NOT GONNA run is not gonNA present any form of competition stewing? Really why would you? I don't see any. I don't see any real gain in that I I see. Alan is a safety blanket. He's he said at the combine. What kind of competition do you want for? Gi- dwayne very competitive competition. He wants everybody to compete. He that he said we're going to bring in somebody. Anyone didn't necessarily compete for a job at all time. Wealth building it. You're saying that he's essentially gonNA handed to Dwayne and say this is this. Is Your your Gig we brought in Kyle to be your backup to say whatever you WANNA say my. My belief is that even though I don't think he.

"Seemed to be fine with Ron. Everybody seems to have been just fine with Iran. I mean that's encouraging I mean Steve Smith senior wasn't but every single person that we've heard hat loved Ron Rivera Josh Norman. Who had nothing to gain because he knew he was heading. Outta town. You know said the best things ever about Ron Rivera. The players key Kelly. All of them have said you guys are in for treat so back to Kyle Allen for a moment so you don't you you watch this tape leading up to the game that they played in Charlotte. Have you gone back and seen some of those early starts? He was a five and one starting quarterback plan. Pretty Damn well. I think The other day I I added up. It was like nine touchdowns two interceptions a sixty seven percent. Completion percentage like He. He was really playing. Well they played some very good defensive teams like San Francisco. That did not go well. They had that Green Bay game in the snow in which I actually thought he played very well in and then for whatever reason I watched that game I P played alright in that game. He played just. I thought he competed. Really well okay. Well you also had some student numbers from Christian McCaffrey and some of the things he did. Run after the catch wise and making it easy gross running back I. I'm not sitting here telling you the Kyle. Alan can never play football in the NFL. I'm just telling you that Kyle Allen is the backup in my opinion. Now that's it. He's a undrafted.

"All right it's that time of the week again. Time for the Kevin Long Show and I'm your host Kevin Long. Oh I'm sorry for the way. The room sounds myself picking with making sure that there's a podcast every week and I realized that this one isn't going to be the best killing myself. Hey I need to make my outline for the show on Thursday so what to do. Well what we're GONNA do. We're GONNA talk about the new outline and of the podcast so next week when I sit down and say is that time of leak again. Time for the Kevin Kevin Long show. Then we're going to do some business and that usually means that I remind you that there is a coffee account count at coffee. Dot Com backslash Kevin long show. I believe there is a link in the link tree. If there's not it will take care of that. Today I point out that there is the pod life book now by Southgate media a group there will also be a link to that in the link tree but you just go to 'em coffee mugs and things like that that. Oh and the second most important thing if you like this show. Tell your friends if you don't I don't like this show tell your innings after you've done that go to whatever service you get your podcast from and if they allow you to relieve. Aleve review please after we take care of the business. We're going to get into the the if NBA players were Dean D. Characters. That's going to start next week. We're going to start with the hawks. I realized that I'm running out of time or the season ends. And then there will be new rosters We'll do it again next year because it's fun and so I might right double up on that. We'll see we'll see what happens. And then we'll talk about whatever we're GONNA talk about. I I still got some scientists things I WANNA do. Have a whole list of stuff. I WANNA talk about. Still need to do. Might not not necessarily me but when I go on to drive at pay what you want for zero dollars. That's cool if they are charging zero dollars but if the recommended prices a dollar or a dollar fifty or three dollars dollars and seventy five cents. Then they're not giving it away for free so give them something even. If it's a pen me I hope it's more than a penny but even if it's not the recommended price give them something because one if they wanted did it for free. There's a button that says free if it doesn't say free it's not free and second of all they're taking their time to create these things for you and help him out a little bit even if it's a penny there's my rant for the week irritates me and this is the thing. I know that if you're listening to this podcast you're probably like minded handed to me so I don't think that's a problem so yet again. The people that need to hear that message aren't getting that message but again if you think your friend needs take that message share this podcast with them. If you think your enemy needs to hear that message share this podcast with them. It's only been four four minutes but that's all I have to say this week so for me myself and I- Mahalo and have a great day again. Thank you for listening.

"All right. It's that time of the week again. Time for the Kevin Long show. I'm your host Kevin Law and I just WanNa make quick podcasts to get it out there so I can get back on track. Make sure that I'm going to get fifty two episodes of the Kevin Long show out this year at least fifty two. We'll see what happens and there will be more Magic Monday and I'm hoping to get a few more shows was going this year. We'll see how that goes but fifty to one every Thursday and boom. ooh You got it even talk about had to do this earlier while I did it earlier. Now I'm redoing it because for whatever reason didn't download to Lipson and I went to listen to it and there was nothing there so I don't know what did we talk about. I know at one point. We talked about this being a leap year. Oh I remember now K.. So last year at Christmastime Robert Southgate made gift guide for all the shows for example. If you went to the KRYPTONITE report there. Was this really cool spiderman or superman statue and. I'm not even editing. This one I just want to get it out there Yeah Superman statue and it was cool. I was going to do a podcast for every gift guide. But I didn't and Christmas is over. That's cool but you can still use the gift guides. I'm sure somebody you know is having having a birthday this year. And maybe if you know somebody that has was born on a leap year. They're going to have to birthdays this year. I don't know if that's really okay. How it works but I guarantee you if I was born on a leap year I would have? My normal. Birthday will say October twentieth. Because that's women Bertha is then I'd be like Oh hey friends and family. It's a leap year. My real birthday is coming so now you have to buy me to guess. I would totally do that again again. I don't know if that's how it works. But that's what I would do also on the gift guys because I remembered this year every gift guy one of the gifts you can buy no no matter what show you go to is. Pablo Life Pod. Life is the book that Southgate media produced last year. I still need to get my copy. Actually any get three copy so I can sell them. And then after that I'll get more you know whatever anyway pod Life by southgate media. You can go to Amazon. Get it there. They have the paperback version. They have the kindle version. So whatever floats your fancy. Go get it all right other things that I talked about before I had to fix this show were that I still need to do you my if NBA players were DNB. Characters now I did two years ago and Dan. I had a lot of fun doing it last year. When I thought about doing it I thought I would encompass all thirty two teams? That would give me thirty two episodes and that's cool the. I'm not sure I wanNA do that anymore. Fact the more that I think about it the less I WANNA do it. So here are my options either next Thursday the ninth. I'm going to do the one for the Utah Jazz. Because you know that's my team go jazz and I'll be done with it or her. I can double up teams and produce sixteen weeks of content and then be done John with for the year. And we'll see what happens after that. I don't know I KINDA WANNA do the Atlanta Hawks because Carter's on his retirement tour so that'd be pretty fun. Maybe I'll do that one end the jazz one. We'll see what happens us about it. That's all I've got just getting it out there so we can give back on-track and Oh yeah highlight. There is one more thing. Patriotic is happening this year. It'll probably happen next week when my goblins in minions or home but it is happening sometime this year. I'm excited about that. There's a lot of things that I want to Eh do and go from there so for me myself and I- Mahalo and Godspeed the again. Thank you for listening to the Kevin Wong.

Cooley and Kevin Friday via phone And we we're GONNA get redskins. Beat jets and I WANNA ask coolly about Greg Williams and the time that he you know spent with Greg Williams here in Washington and other things will go round the league a little bit but We've got to start with last night's Thursday night game and what happened late in that game. Most of you know by now myles Garrett Takes Mason Rudolph Helmet off and then Wax Rudolph over the head with the helmet He was ojected There were marquees. pouncey jumped into protect a rude. It off he threw a couple of punches. Garrett kicked him in the helmet on the ground it was a complete and utter Malay to finish up and evening. That was just as is boring. A game that you can get and by the way let me just say up front one of the worst quarterbacking performances all season long by Mason Rudolph who was just dreadful in the game. Four interceptions and Cooley. I thought he could have had seven in the game. He was so bad. But let's start with myles Garrett and before you weigh in I wanNA play Joe. Buck in Troy Aikman's reaction When the play happens in then you'll hear them as they see the replay there?.

"He's looking pretty good at times right now. I'm sorry he's struggling as is that Pittsburgh defense actually the Pittsburgh defense. I watched the most of that game because I had Pittsburgh plus. The points plus hits. I watch I watch the game I didn't. I actually thought that they were super aggressive aggressive ineffective early but what's really just amazing and I said this on Monday is just how Mike and Kyle can figure out how to run the football against danced almost anybody. It's really impressive. It's not amazing. It's the scheme that gets done. I understand that but why don't ever them. Why doesn't everybody everybody do the same thing because apparently everybody doesn't believe that zone run scheme. Is the best team in football but that's another story. That's another rams. Give it but I mean I look. I I was part of the team run scheme with with Gibbs. It was a little different but it was still zone run and we kept it was the one and there were times when he ran the ball really well. Especially the first year was on yeah even though we were limited formation limited with what we were doing. We got banged up with offensive line. We ran the ball okay. Josh Norman is struggling that that's that's the understatement of the season so far right uh-huh yeah. They're going after Josh Right now. I think a lot of people are really challenging him and Hamas like you just talked about when I was joking around with when the driver really well. You're going to three hundred men. The Josh is playing press bail so many times and getting beaten press S. Bail like just press or playoff or do something different like you gotta adapt here. I think Josh Norman a good player player I really do. I think that he's like if you re run by you. It's hard for him to recover but I don't. I don't think he's a bad player man. I just can't buy that. What are the giant struggling struggling as well put how much of the giants aliens have you watched so far nine and I was GonNa go watch Daniel Jones in that game today I just I've watched all of our game and spent the weekend watching the chiefs and the rams the Ravens and some of these innovative offenses and I haven't had much well. I didn't watch the giants 'cause I didn't care about manning yet so I'm GonNa go watch Daniel Jones. What will you liked to Jones and by the way you like to mention and I gave you credit for that you you brought up Minzhu at some point and said that wouldn't be a bad mid round pick if if they haven't drafted a quarterback yet you know what I liked about Menchu and what I like about any college quarterback that does he does. It's you throw it four thousand sometimes in college like in a Mike Leach offense and at least you get a good feel for what coverage is seen and what you're looking at the back end in a lot of different concepts and the Duncan do we set for experience and he certainly has it. What did you sort of learn or what were your takeaways. You said you were watching the chiefs in the Ravens in some of the innovative offenses all right the first thing I I really I really love when I watched the chiefs in the rams before would the obvious they screen a ton both of those teams have at least ten screens in every ballgame the the chiefs as well so as much as they wanNA throw vertical they screen a ton the chiefs RPO almost every single run and they have so many varieties of RPO which I was so impressed with and it could be the single side as well which is what the redskins got on three different occasions. Paul Richardson Awesome like a variation that we hadn't seen from the redskins that the chiefs have been doing but there are so good in in screening. RPO Game they run the ball effectively when they need to run the ball and and everything has gone and everything's GonNa run and almost everything that she says some form of Zone type of run and then finally the passing concepts are not overly complicated and there's not a ton of complexity to them but they run for vert in every single way you could possibly actively see it like they were on four verticals four cm routes in some variation with two backs in the backfield and fly sweep and one of the bags will become a theme and the other fly sweeper will become a scene and they create different levels to do it. It's really really cool. It's fascinating. It's college like and that's Kinda. Andy Reid them. Oh is really innovative and he'll go and he'll talk college coaches and you'll ask him how they're doing it. so. I was impressed with that wouldn't watch the Rams uh-huh they run. If they like a play they just keep running. They will keep running that play. They had a third downplay that they ran in the first two weeks at least east eight times and they got. I seventy on the same concept. It's a high low concept with three. That's a deep medium low with three guys and they just run it and run it and run it. Different formations different looks to get to it. You're like out of the one stop this but their options they screen a lot especially in second long and and both these teams do this they have they'll go. Empty sets more and they'll throw the screen to the mid receiver of the three. If you you bring five or six in the box they throw the screen. They just immediately checked to it. They'll take eight yards. It's great stealing so they just do simple things. then the last thing when you when you watch the chiefs dude like Patrick Mahomes just unbelievable mahomes is unreal. Wrangham you you said something to me the other day a about the chiefs. You said that you don't even know if they have a run call in their playbook that the only runs off of our peos is the you really think that's true. I'm GonNa have a short yardage right. They're all run calls yeah. No they go down on the goal line and they go oh so you don't think they have just a a run in actual running play in the playbook other than as an option to pass yes yes they certainly do have renewed plays in their playbook but they don't call them often because they believe in the because they believe in Mahomes they believe in what they see and they say hey look. If we have an easy five yard throw it's way easier than a five yard run getting a five yard. Throw to receiver who has the leverage is a lot easier than giving a five yard run. Yeah that's creating real balance and by the way you know the other thing about the RPO. It's play action because you're lying is blocking real run. They're really blocking run right so it's effectively putting the defense into thinking run. Which is what play action? Does this actually what it is so they they just. I don't know I lived through two games. I think almost every run had some. RPO Not off of it and even honestly you never know for sure right but even if it is not RPO their receivers are are running above all running slant on the backside of it it could be calling run it and then just call slants on the backside of it and you're you're not gonNA throw him. Oh One one more thing this I wrote this down. If you WANNA be good if you want to run the ball in hand and have the effect that Shaun McRae's having as rams offense your receivers all have have to block that guts out their receivers are great blockers so important yeah definitely What did you see what the ravens just added curiosity that Lamar Jackson gets away with more than he should get away with man he throws balls rolling right across the field ended up getting caught got he throws balls into double coverage that he ended up making plays on. It's amazing I expected them to be like this wing t offense offense. I think a lot of people did like just commitment to read option and all this stuff and they don't they throw the ball. Mark Andrews really good. I like Mark Andrews a lot and all all their tight ends are good and they essentially act as the receivers in the run game. and Lamar Jackson can make plays dude like that's the thing about this kid. He's not a great anticipated at this point. I don't know if he'll ever be great anticipate her but he is a great second and third effort type of player and if it's if he's gotta run you don't want the ball in anybody else's hands in the League but he is league as a running quarterback and that's not a bad thing to say. I you know I would love to building offense around him. Love it yeah my first choice and offense I if I were just building but it would be so much fun to be Greg Greg Roman in Baltimore all right I gotTa Get to my coaching blunders and you gotta go unless you WanNa stick around for the coaching blunders of the week. You enjoy ice. Actually this is my favorite thing and I was GonNa just listened to the podcast but if you WANNA do it I'll just listen you. Why don't you do it with me. Why don't why don't we do this. hit the open. Fort Ben Calls Clock. Many gaffes missed opportunities. It's coach Sean's blunders of the wheat cool. He's GonNa stick around with us so there were a lot of coaching blunders over the weekend by the way you know grooten and once again at the end of the first half he basically let twelve seconds roll off the clock before calling a timeout defense and I know was twenty eight to nothing at at the time and he was probably you know incredibly disappointed with the situation but they went down and got a field goal at the end of the half and the bottom line is the called the time out correctly when he was on defense he would have had another two snaps to try to get a touchdown in that situation also it was way too early to go for two at twenty eight to nine the right decision at twenty eight fifteen to go for the two but that's only because he went for the two and missed it the first time at twenty eight seventeen if they'd just kicked the extra points on fourth worth one before the fumbled snap on the quarterback sneak he he could've kicked a field goal to make it twenty eight twenty and now it's a one possession potential one possession game at that point point but here's what I really wanted to focus on was everything that happened at Arrowhead with Jim Harbaugh and the Ravens I. I don't know if you've followed. You said you watched a lot of tape of the chiefs. I don't know how much of the going for the fourth down going for the two pointers you followed followed during the game but there was a lot of stuff going on in that game that John Harbaugh was asked to respond to after the game. Are you familiar with everything that happened in the Baltimore game or not the and when I say I watch a lot of tape. I didn't watch that game because that game hadn't occurred while I was watching tape right so I think it's really interesting to go into a game saying you know what analytic says. We're GONNA need five more points in this game and so we gotta find ways to get them. Yeah and there's not going for two things. There's so much context going to sue you know what is your play. What is their defense down there. Do you really like it's less than fifty fifty gene which is odd for a two yard play but it's not just a regular two yard. Play the goal line sitting right there. The back line really shortens the field it. It makes it hard to get on on a one play deal I don't like going for too early in ballgames unless you have three two or three things that you know and here's the other thing that hard hard to no know teams have different defenses for different situations..

"Was You know I want Chris Thompson in the game. I don't WanNa see Adrian Peterson in this game whether the throwing the ball to Thompson Jason whether they're gonNA run draws or or use him as a runner which they did on that first down eight yard gain and they came back on second down. I just thought their best opportunity was to do what they had been doing. I did not WanNa see Adrian. Peterson Adrian Peterson was in on that drive to start that driving remember thinking him. I tweeted it out more more Thompson. Get Peterson out like you're you're not they throw a ball the Peterson for like you know it was like a minus you know a minus play to start but that that lasts drive that ended up in fumble. I I wonder does a screen pass yeah. I wonder if if j just felt like you know I guess I gotTa get Adrian in the game. I don't know how he felt but I would say that. That's been fairly fairly consistent to what most of their game plans over the past few years have started out and looked like with some of their inside gap runs between the tackle runs and you've you've developed some of this stuff off of that but yeah. I just think it was a tough spot against that defense to do some of those things what I mean and it was like it was. Here's the other other thing is is that went back and watch this game. I mean let's just go through the first series of place Kevin. This is another thing you know. The first series place big for them. They have to mistakes on the first run play that they get no yards. Vernon DAVIS COVERS UP JEREMY SPRINKLE on the second play and get a penalty in the late. I'm we're talking about the scripted I fifty right all right and the third play is frank and Jeremy sprinkled drops down the middle of the field and then Casey come throws a pick six on a ball that sales at Trey Quinn and so you started out on the first five plays in such a big hole or the first four place putting your offense in a big hole with with mistakes and I don't know man. It's it's. It's really tough to battle back. I do think the bears settled when we got into the second half when I watch that team. I think they pretty much said you're not scoring twenty the eight on us so we really take a knee right here. If we wanted to every down and we'll play enough defense that you won't get twenty eight right the so back to the first half. What didn't they do against Khalil Mack. And what should they have done. I just think you have to give him more to think about and by more to think about. I don't mean Vernon Davis Sift protection for attacking on play Action Pass. I mean you gotta get him off his spot. You GotTa get moving so thank you mentioned quick games big thing they didn't screen the bears at all in the first half and you can screen in so many ways that it's not like fly sweep motion reverse motion. They can't off going to throw the ball to the back like a patented new. NFL screens and you can get some of those alley screens his direction. You can get some of those things where he's two steps and then he's got to turn around and he doesn't just all of a sudden get this rhythm. I don't think the count was good enough in the first half that ballgame. I think that there are so many things that you can control in the forty seconds as you go up to the ball that are yours to control and to me the bears were firing off the line so much so that like three or four times they were off the second of all was now so when they I know you can't you gotta make those adjustments think that's a problem. I think you had to run at him more. I think you had to attack him more in the run game and the backing cut it back to behind that but but CPA and I've talked about this and we talked about it all the time when I was playing and we were playing together. It was like you have a great defensive. We're GONNA run at him and he would just say hey look just make sure he doesn't get inside inside okay. I'll cut it back. Just whatever you do still let him get inside or hey go outside in balance it but just take one side of him and I'll know that you're gonNA take that side of it like to me. You have to try to run it. CLEAL MAC a little bit more and I'm not saying you can't double team and with two tight ends at the point but they never ran at him so oh. I think that there's things that you do in those instances they also never tossed him or you're trying to crack him from the other side. They never tried to get outside of him in the run game in the first half. I'm I'm confident that not one run play was designed to get outside of the tackle box so you never got him to run. Clinton said yesterday today on the radio show that that Adrian missed a bunch of things that there were opportunities there that he he just missed yeah. I didn't think he ran the ball exceptionally exceptionally well. I I you know I mean you. Maybe a predetermined a couple of the cuts and bounced couple of things that he couldn't bounce but at at the same time when you're getting five carries and a half. I'm just not sure how back sets up and get the filter game. I thought by the way Trason Veith Danny Trevathan was incredible in that game too I mean they. They have a lot of defensive talent and you know there's been a lot of talk. Roquan Smith and Leonard Floyd I thought fifty nine was really good. I mean obviously Mac is the major difference maker their their defense is good isn't it it. It is good but it's smart to how about the delayed blip. Oh my leg or he's GonNa Convince Sheriff that he's checking the back that he's hug rushing the back and it's crazy because they're already meant covering the back. If if Lineman had that sense like you're clearly not gonNA cover the back. There's a backer over the back right there but he kind of turns hesitates Sheriff Goes Back Down to the center but that's smart Kevin because you have watched as defensive coordinator for the linebackers coach or whoever it is that as soon as that delayed blinkers. It's a curse sheriff will go down and help the center. You've seen it. He's GonNa sort protect. He's GonNa sort as soon as this isn't coming. He's going to back down to the center and they said watch. We'll get him with this one. We will look so smart and they did. I mean they just they do things in the blitz game with those backers they're fast. They're athletic. it's a fun defense to watch. I watch for a couple of games. They're aggressive and then there are a lot of fun to watch yeah. They are by the way just more on the bears. trubisky's really inaccurate accurate isn't he is he has to move. He cannot find an open receiver. Yeah I thought he was inaccurate a lot but if you give them five seconds in the wedding throw inside of ten to fifteen fifteen yards. He's pretty good all right. Let's talk about the team I have you who played well on offense and who didn't Terry. maclaurin played really well offensively I thought he he was really impressive. I thought Paul Richardson did a pretty good job on offense. It's crazy 'cause if you take away two fumbles and and three interceptions did make big throws in case did make some big throws in that game but you couldn't afford that in any way but it it wasn't. I don't think anything was great. Offensively Trey Quinn was good ransom really good routes. That trey was pretty effective in the game but yeah I already mentioned today you already mentioned Thompson who by the way I think is looked really good in all three games. He looks truly healthy and back to being a guy. That's it's really difficult once. He has the ball in his hands to deal with yeah but how many plays that Thomson playing ball game like how many touches he didn't didn't have enough touches anybody eight inches something like that. He played forty snaps in the game but yet it touches weren't enough. He had seven runs and he had five targets targets twelve so twelve opportunities. Yeah I think moving forward that the way this offense needs to operate is probably through through Chris Thompson quite a bit more and I don't think Owen three you can protect him. I just don't think that you can say look this guy. If you end the plane too much you getting too many carries. We're worried that he's going to be injured. You GotTa go win some Games right now and I. I really do think that he's giving your your best opportunity to get more yards offensively. I love Adrian and I think that Chris is going to give you your best opportunity at this point to get the most possible yards. That's the way it seems to me to watching it and and you know I bet therein lies some of the issues of frustration for J. Obviously you know guys who is the plan. I'm sorry it's choice. WHO GETS touches is it should be so there's no frustration. There should be no frustration. Adrian active you if you get into a second half a ball game where you're up a couple of scores or seven or whatever it is and you want to start going to some of your gap scheme run. Go back to it. I think I think that gap scheme run stuff's a secondary issue right now. I think it's a secondary game plan for them for me yeah because it doesn't even work that well cool. He's he's joining us on. The podcast offense who had a rough night you know case obviously had a rough night. I think Morgan had a rough night giving up a couple of pressures. You know I think the offensive line in general did but it just collectively just wasn't good enough. I don't know if you just single anyone one out and say this guy just dunk. Anyone can look at the quarterback. That's an easy thing to do and he knows all right defensively what stood out to you who played well who did so what stood out to me defensively was they never adjusted in the first half of that ball game in the way that I would have wanted to adjust and I watched the game that you watch trubisky quarterback who everybody knows is struggling. Okay we all know he is overwhelmed in the first two teams and so they come out and they get right right to the line of scrimmage and then they dummy cadence which means they're going to go black eighty and we're GONNA look at. We're GONNA see our defense in front of them. Okay and then you're there and you got up until twenty seconds for that coach. You Go okay Mitch. We have man to man coverage now. Let's check into display. You can look here. You can look here. We stood there and it's crazy because defenses will flip and adjust coverages based on strength of formation so if you you had three receivers to one side and one to the other or to depends on where the back is you'll be in asserting coverage if they flip it all of a sudden and now you go motion now. Sometimes we have check with me altered coverage but the bears were really smart with this. They really didn't flip the formation formation mation. They just flipped the formation within and keeping the strength so they kept the coverage that the redskins had initially called. I thought after the first drive you gotta say look just show man hard. Let them do their dummy check and when he gets into his cadence rotate zone. Don't give him him what he knows. You'RE GONNA play. You can't show him and then play it. It's too easy for quarterbacks and by the way if you come up and show man and I'm a tight end and we check into some route and you're standing there..

Look forward to Sunday against the giants and maybe even some bigger picture stuff big takeaway from the Monday night. Loss were started way down on and it's such a huge problem for them to give up consecutive scoring drives on defense. The offense didn't help in the first half and and we've we've been saying that you and I collect often been necessarily. The reason you lose didn't help in this game especially in the first half honestly a big takeaway and I don't know how much positive WANNA take. Owen three is they could lay down the bears that twenty eight zero were probably going to win that game but I think there was a pretty pretty good definition of at least how do you WanNa lose like. Do you WanNa quit right now or do you want to work and at least I saw the team work and try to grind them selves back into a the game. They got closer than it actually looked no case. Keenum doesn't fumble on that fourth and one you can go in and score you you make it a game at that point with about six minutes left but I I think it was frustrating and I think the team's GonNa Be Frustrated from the coaching staff I obviously everyone understands where they're at right now and what they have the next few weeks so that was a game. I think that they they really need to try to find a way to win. You know I I will let let's start. You know where you just mentioned with just a little bit of the positive I mean personally. I'm not going to be an not going you know doing backflips over the fact that they didn't quit but I think one of the underrated and things about that game Monday night and I heard a lot of people talking about it was garbage points garbage yards. That's bullshit. They had a chance with eight minutes seven minutes to go in that game to make the bears legitimately sweat they were carving Chicago up and it was a shame that the case keenum thought he was on the goal line or just didn't know the rule because if they were to have scored there this is it's twenty ninety eight twenty. Two in the bears are potentially reeling at that point. I mean we could have witnessed one I mean. I don't think it's funny because everybody everybody has their own impression and you got to have time in you. Just you're killing him. On twitter. I was in others were and it was an awful first half but it you know they were there. They had a legitimate chance now. You can say well if they pick up the first down. You know you're just one more play away from case keenum throwing another interception listen or if the bears have gotten it back twenty eight twenty two they would have taken that next drive much more seriously and they would have driven it down their throats. Whatever the bottom line is they were really really really on the verge of making it a one score game and making the bear sweat yeah. There's no doubt about it and maybe the bears would have made made adjustments at that point and went back to their UPTEMPO offense. That wasn't really even UPTEMPO it. It was really just to the line so the coach could call the play into to the quarterback's helmet with twenty seconds left th that's all it was and we never adjusted that but maybe they wanna went back to some of that stuff you know you can look at it and say even without that. It was hard to stop them. They had a drive right before the case keenum fumbled that they walk all the way down the field and then Josh Norman got interception right at the goal line right so you know it wasn't like you were just dropping them defensively so so there was that as well but all that said look I'd much rather play in the twenty eight twenty two football game any day of the week and myself a chance who who the hell knows what's going to happen because maybe the center snaps it will trubisky is not looking and we get a lucky one. You never know you. You're within a score. Sometimes things happen so they find themselves back into a game and and to be honest they. I watched that team fight. I I gotTa give him credit for that. That wasn't pretty bad. Start defensively. They're big time problems but I did watch the team fighting. There's there's something to be said for that and even if it's something going to be set moving into the future and with a lot of the guys that are going to be on the next year the team that won't lay down at least early yeah. I mean let's also keep in mind this is you you know a a big part of this group is the group that absolutely laid down at the end of last year. They were trailing a game forty to nothing early in the third quarter against a bad football team. They didn't have any prayer in in several of their games at down the stretch with that said I actually thought the best game they played all year in terms of the limitations was the loss at Tennessee WanNa see I thought they showed a ton of fighting that one but real quickly back to that last drive and I know some people are saying why I I'm going to talk about with you what I want to talk about here here because we'll get to the negative here do. Do you think that this is like you're you're really focused on the the second half and them. You know deciding to really continue to give it you know effort and stick together. Jay said just the other day. Do you think this is a team that at least in that locker room is still together or is it frank no. I don't think there's anything Frayne on this team. That's been and I've been around this team more than I've been around. Any team is since I've been out of out of playing in and so it's not like I've known inherently apparently every team but I will say that you look around the locker room and you can find you know a Lotta guys that you go. I keep building the team with this kind of guy. I think there's good attitude in there. I don't think there's any I don't think there's any negatives. I don't think there's any internal struggles with players so yeah the team that's still together. It's just you know they. They have a big challenge ahead of him. I I mean there's adversity and then there's a little bit more diversity when within those reality with what's pending and you know and then then there's the looming reality of what happens if you get to own five and six and what's going to happen at the end of the year players are smart and they understand all of that stuff so to stay together. We'll be more of a challenge later in the season unless they get a couple of wins which is battle you. It'll be more of a challenge. I WanNa ask you one of the thing about the second half I saw a team that got back to what I'm sure. You are recommending which was more quick game more get it out quickly. That's a good strategy strategy to combat number fifty to their strategy in the first half was not very good against Khalil Mack and they were carving up a team that may have relaxed psychologically but they weren't in prevent either and they were showing what we've seen at times in the first two games the ability to move the football a little bit. It didn't happen in the first half because of all the turnovers offers in the inability to account for you know one of the two or three best players in the entire. NFL but did you see you know. I mean mean Chicago Letdown Mentally Cooley but the offense really did perform in the second half of the exception to the of the two turnovers which are big big deals in the last one was just silly but what did you see offensively as they were you know moving up and down the field on three different occasions. Well I caught a couple of things is one of the attention to urgency as they started going no huddle and they started speeding things up it started getting the bears out of rhythm and off temple because I thought early in that game the bears were jumping the snap count. The bears were pretty sure of what some of the concepts we hadn't had to play those concepts and so as they got into some of the spread out stuff and no huddle stuff. I think that you got the bears a little bit out of rhythm. Defensively I think the running games better right now in rent through Chris Thompson and it's not because I'm saying that Chris Thompson's better runner than Adrian Peterson but I just think some of the run concept's where you're trying to get to the edge and you're a little bit more spread out are much more effective and Chris has been a pretty good runner so you know you look at what you did offensively I believe in and then getting the ball the Terry Moore Terry and have one target in the first half a big second half so you get the ball the Terry Moore and you get the ball the Chris Thompson more and you spread spread it out and you go a little bit more UPTEMPO and that's how you beat a bears defense. I thought the plan was interesting in the first half of the ball game you know I know you expect to be able to run the ball or you. WanNa try. I had to run the ball but it just wasn't it wasn't to be so I think there was it wasn't it was urgency. There was an offensive group. That didn't quit but I also I think the planet opted to what had to be two in you know. Maybe you want to start with that yet. I think the frustrating thing for me as I started to realize in the second half you know at twenty eight fifteen when they got the ball back after I think maybe the only three and out of the game defensively offensively against the bears..

"Yes you want it. You need it. It's what everyone's talking about the Kevin Sheehan show now here's Kevin. I'm here. Aaron's here Chris coolest Julio coming up. He'll join us on the show today. I just learned something from Erin a little while ago I mean Hell I learned. I learned a lot from airing airing every day. I learned just a few days ago. The mystics were in the in the WNBA playoffs. I didn't even know they were in the semi finals and still we start until we started giving their scores out on the radio show last week but you just told me that they are minus three thirty favorites over the Connecticut Sun that Izzy Z. Massive favourite for championship game or championship series. It's best to five year. I know that from my updates this morning are they that much better than Connecticut. I mean they have the clear best player in the League Lane Adela Don on they have a good supporting cast Christie tolliver. Yeah I mean I don't know a whole lot about the Connecticut Sun but it seemed like when Mrs Royan Day were the best team by far and chosen these odds. They've never won the title crumb. This is their the second straight. WNBA final their record during the regular season was twenty six thousand eight Connecticut was the Second Best Team at twenty three and eleven and Jesse. You know I'm I'm. I'm basically giving you this as I'm learning it because I'm looking through their schedule right now all right. They opened the season back in back in May All right they opened the season with Connecticut. They lost the opener to Connecticut they. They then lost again at Connecticut. They then beat Connecticut at home by the way one or two to fifty nine June twenty-ninth that would be a forty three point win for the mystics over Connecticut their last meeting. That was their last meeting. They played Connecticut three times and they are. They are one and two against the sun. Are we going on too long for you on the mystics probably for most of you but minus three thirty is a massive favorite favorite for a championship series it would be the equivalent of this super bowl favourite being minus seventeen something alley somewhere around there somewhere between fifteen and seventeen is my guess spent a long time since I've seen a minus three thirty favorite in something that resembles a championship series good luck to them and I won't be watching sorry not on Sunday game ones at three o'clock that that would be a tough watch in the middle of an NFL Sunday in the middle of the Redskins game but I do like Elena Delle Dan she can play in Christie Taveres Terp so we're rooting for her. how about the nets the nats clinched a playoff berth last night a wildcard playoff berth courtesy of their sweep sweep of Philadelphia and the double header and then the cubs losing at Pittsburgh last night think about the season that they've had. It's been a wild one. They were nineteen eighteen thirty one on May twenty third so essentially four months later they are on a sixty nine and thirty eight run that is six forty five. I baseball since that nineteen and thirty one start a start that by the way had people talking about the manager being fired and about Max Sherzer being traded I'm happy for Davey Martinez. He's obviously just gone through a recent health scare. They stuck with him. I mean this. This is on Rizzo Rizzo in the organization in terms of giving credit as much as it's on Dave Martinez in those players because the organization was was staunch on this is gonNA turn out okay and remember there are a lot of injuries early in the season two and then they had the injury to Sherzer who missed so many starts parts but when you fall twelve games below five hundred through fifty. It's really hard to make the postseason in fact this is only then ninth time it's ever happened yesterday by the way just as an aside in that first win in the afternoon doubleheader win over the phillies. Did you see their relief effort. Are you familiar millea what happened after Joe. Ross came out of the game. I mean I was following. How's that work at the time so I was kind of following it on game tracker and stuff but Joe Ross gave him four innings and then it was fatty furnishing rainy furnishing Rodney fern ending doolittle in inning and Hudson furnishing five relievers five innings no hits. It's no runs. No walks a no hitter a perfect a perfect game. There are no walks for five innings from their bullpen that may be me someone could tweet me and tell me something different that probably was the best bullpen day of the season had Bob Carpenter on the radio show and he agreed with that the nats are going to go into this postseason by the way considered to be you know a team capable of winning the whole thing. Some people think they are the best matchup for the dodgers because of their starting starting pitching rotation which leads to this a very intriguing final five games for the nets who are going to more likely than not barring a Milwaukee collapse laps alright. Na cubs resurgence they're. GonNa play the brewers in the wildcard game. The interesting part of this is the nats with five games left will have to you would think they would you know they're. GonNa try to set it up to get their best pitcher to pitch that wildcard game however however there's a race right now and a battle for home field advantage so the question would be what's more important homefield advantage or teeing it up for your best pitcher to pitch in the wildcard game but then you take it a step further. Who is your best pitcher right now. Who Do the nats want to start that wildcard wildcard game the obvious answer most of the time would be sure but his. Era is six point one one in his last three starts. It's so could be Strasbourg who's really had almost his best season or Corbin. Who's got like a two point three? Era In his last three or four starts something like like that does is Milwaukee a heavy lefty lineup or not. The dodgers are yeah. No I think Milwaukee's fairly balanced. I think David indicated yesterday Max pitching in that wildcard game. I don't know if I would go that route though and not just for the numbers that you mentioned measures are if you go through wit. He's not the he's not a disaster playoff pitchers not a he's not a great big game pitcher naughty great big game pitcher. I think part of it is because he gets you know he. He's a- An emotional pitcher he feeds wears out in a good way that I mean you saw it. Yesterday was the big game he gives up three runs in the first inning meanwhile Strasbourg. Who's just a machine sheen who is basically a motorcyclist does pitch well in those spots? I I would go with Strasbourg granted. I mean here's the thing if you don't you know if you pitch Strasbourg Berg in the wildcard game that he's not available for game. One of the the the goal isn't to get to the LDS the goal is to make it farther at least the NFL can't make you can't make it further without getting to the end lds which means you got to win one game which by the way it's going to be very exciting but here's the thing right now. Max is scheduled to pitch the season finale against Cleveland if you need that win to get home field. They're not they've already indicated. They're not going to so they'll. They'll pick somebody else in and give up home-field. Yes make sure that sherzer pitches against Milwaukee. Yes I'm going. I didn't know that by the way Bob Carpenter didn't have an answer on that this morning. Either I say that debuted league even he didn't. I think exact words were Max lines up for that star for for the wild card okay he doesn't he. He doesn't line up based on right now what they've got written down as or what at least many websites are projecting as normal rotation tation which would be. Sanchez today Strasbourg Thursday of vote on Friday Corbin Saturday and Max on Sunday. Here's what I I think of. This was in the pre-game press conference. Maybe the between game somewhere around there Dave Martinez. This is from Jesse Dorothy Day. Martinez didn't definitively named Max Scherzer as Wildcard Albacore game started but he got very close quote. If you look at the schedule right now that's Max's Day and he's one of the best well okay we'll but it's not Max's Day. Dave Martinez Day is in. That's his kind of a day wildcard game because it doesn't set up in terms of if you keep the normal rotation I mean he said if you've guessed last night if he's pitching a normal rotation he would pitch the season finale against Cleveland on Sunday at home. I agree with you but Martinez is apparently think right. I think it'll be like if they get to the Sunday game I would in the wild card it would be really interesting to see if they had to win that game to get home field field advantage if they would go with someone else in give up potentially homefield advantage to get maxed to pitch in Milwaukee by the way you know homefield advantage comes with obviously last opportunity to bat in a game and with their bullpen that may be something they want you know is is one one last opportunity in the bottom of the ninth in case they give up the lead in the top of the knife with somebody the other interesting thing just about the last week or so or the week and a half is doolittle. Alton is really not the closer right now. He is going to be lefty lefty or for an inning here or there. He may close a game but it's not clearly etched in stone own. He's going to be the playoff closer in fact. I think we're starting to see signs that it'll be Hudson. last night harper hit a home run off hunter strict. Oh that was the most as soon soon as he came up to bat. I would've put any amount of money on him. Hitting a home run their clutch by the way he's clutch when it like here's the thing there are runners on base. He wouldn't have hit that home run. He's big win. It seems big. I'm it was a big matchup last last night because of what happened in twenty fourteen and five years ago I know but people anticipated it and I've just found maybe I'm wrong and maybe the numbers would not you know back me up on this. I've just found over the years that if Harper's up in a big spot it turns out well more often than not by the way he's ending up having a really decent season just hit his thirty four th home run last night. He's got one hundred nine rb is the batting average has come up on base percentages. Come Up. It's not as best season alright. It's but he's not the reason for them. Not Making the postseason his contract's not the reason for them not making the postseason. They've had a lot of injuries in that team. They are really probably one of the most disappointing teams of the twenty nineteen season awesome all right Let's get to Chris Cooley. Bring him in and talk some redskins right after I tell you about my bookie dot. Ag a lot of you have asked me you about about betting about where you bet. I'm giving you a place to go bet and by the way get a really good offer. Tibet if you are wanting to bet football now all right and you don't have a guy. You don't have a way to do it..
