"How game day was built. Game day didn't have four state and Notre-Dame back in 1993 when they went on the road for the first time. So, you know, I think that that's our intention, but I'm not naive Paul. I don't know if you know four or 5 years down the road. If it becomes much like the NFL model and I realized those studio shows don't go on the road, a very often. But even when they do, you wouldn't see the network that broadcast the AFC being at an NFC game. I don't think that will happen in the foreseeable future. I hope that it doesn't, and now or every intention right now is to continue on with the same model and try to go to the best story, the best scene, the best venue for the show every week. And that doesn't always mean the game that has the two highest ranked teams no matter what. Most of the time, that's the way it is. It sort of falls in in those two or one and the same. But sometimes sometimes it's not. It's a common parlor game guessing where game day goes every week. How does that happen? I know before the season you can look at a couple of dates and figure it out. It's not difficult, but sometimes it is pretty complex. It is a programming departments involved, our lead fitting Steve ackles set markman, all of our executives who run college football are involved. They consult with those of us on the show to see what we think would be the best thing. And it's a discussion. Now, most of the time, you're down to a couple by Saturday night. Sometimes it's obvious where you're going the next week. But there was even one year. I believe it was in 2015 season of memory serves. That carried into Tuesday because we wanted to go to Philadelphia for temple Notre-Dame and do it independence hall. But you had to negotiate with the city of Philadelphia. Could we get everything we needed for the venue to put both stages there and all of those types of things. So it dragged into Tuesday in that regard. But typically, it's typically we know by Sunday and it's a product of a discussion and we've sort of hashed it out and if we disagreed, we've come to a consensus that everyone can live with. Reese, before we go, I would like your thoughts on next week because that is the biggest game of the day and it's critically important and a lot of the pundits to think it won't be very close. That's not your issue. Your issue is hosting the show, but how serious do you think Ohio State based on what you know and have seen could be to this juggernaut that we call Alabama? Oh, look, I think they could be a threat to them for sure, but Ohio State is going to have to improve quickly on defense because Alabama will score too. A lot of the state is going to score on everybody. And when you have the type of weapons that they have, then they certainly, you know, if we, if it comes to that at the end of the season, Alabama and Ohio State, they're a legitimate threat. The new defensive coordinator at Ohio State will help but how quickly will he have the personnel at all three levels, not that they don't have great players and have it recruited great. They have. But how long does it take him to get them to get the players comfortable with the scheme, how quickly until they're affected. And then, you know, how often will they see an offense prior to that that has all of the weapons that are now Alabama would throw at them in that type of matchup. But I do think they're very serious threat to them. I still think Georgia is too. I do think Alabama is the best team. I think they have a chance to have a generational type defense because they have the best player in college football and the best quarterback in college football will Anderson and Bryce young. And that's a heck of a place to start. And Paul, I know like me, you saw Derek Thomas play. So Cornelius Bennett. Derek Thomas is the only Alabama player that you could put the same realm or put will Anderson in the realm with Derek Thomas. And it will as a season approximating what he has. The first two years. He might be the greatest defensive player ever to play at Alabama, which by definition when you're talking in the realm of Derek Thomas makes him one of the greatest ever to play college football. Reece Davis, we will see him tomorrow and every Saturday on college game day. Reach many thanks. It's so great to see you. And thanks for making time. All right, Paul. Rich David is joining us and one more thing before we get to the break. We mentioned Alan green is out at auburn, someone who he was very close to is Kevin white. Who just stepped down recently as the athletic director at duke and let me say this about Kevin white, he is one of the most respected and beloved people in intercollegiate athletics. In fact, his son is the athletic director at the university of Tennessee. Kevin white just issued a statement about Alan green and according to a copy obtained by Pete SAML. He uses the terms terribly disturbing, utterly shameful, and he called auburn's called auburn's he called auburn, said it's political, he called out auburn's political dysfunction as truly legendary. And this is within moments of the announcement being made out of auburn. So one of the most respected people in the industry calling this disturbing and shameful you heard what re Davis said there, meanwhile, there is some booster behind the curtain right now, probably snickering and going through his speed dial, probably calling lane kiffin or Q freeze or somebody to make sure to see if they're available to take over. "After this, it'll make a lot more sense onto his why I did not dedicate the time to get myself an antelope. I struck out. I've had two people ask me like, wait a minute, can you just tell me that KJ coordinates and he didn't like, yeah, but they do understand why. I was like, KJ first off, KJ was involved in was it three or four guys? Four of us guys, including my first, well, three of us with our first three. Tom, because you were a Thomas. I was with Thomas. And he had his second second my first Ryan Ryan his second and then Kevin white's first. And then Kevin wants first. So two first and two seconds. Yeah, okay. Still. So pour out of the 6 guys, I was with. They all shot their antelope. Right. And that's not because it's just because I wanted to be there. I wanted to guide and I felt like I was hunting. And at the same time, you were also the most experienced in that terrain from that area. So it made sense and a lot of that whereas when we just to kind of give a quick background to everything, when we started, the first morning, you Ryan Kevin, and Darrin and Darren. It went off together, whereas Thomas Gary and myself went. And our focus of Thomas and I, Thomas and I have obviously more experienced hunters, Gary, killingsworth, our web guy. Has gotten into big game hunting. Has not killed anything yet. So our focus was like, get him on it first. He did, and he did it in true Gary killing for a fashion of first shot was 308 yards. Oh my 422 through the heart dead. It was like, okay, now that's the Gary we know the shooter. You sit there and go. How did you miss the short shot, right? Oh, yeah. He did. He actually missed a 225 yard shot. Oh, I did not know that. That was the daybreak. We missed the first round just over 200. And then he hits at three O 8 and then kills it four 22. Yeah. So but then later we get Darren and we were on his for and Darren was a listener, and he was great. And he put one through and down, and it was a blast. And that was day one. Yeah. We had four goats down on day one, and that was an absolute blast. That was and it is fun. And then the work started the next day. Then the work started. So we'll start on your antelopes. We kind of started out on this place that we that is public, but there's a railroad track before the before between the highway and the property. Yes. So that is railroad property. Railroad right away. Federal federal ground. Federal ground, okay? And there are a lot of rules and a lot of finite rules that you may not be aware of. And I caution you caution you caution you caution you. Yes. You look into those rules beforehand. And look into the rules by talking to locals and local law enforcement because we had Onyx and we all and every one of us had an on X map that was specific to Wyoming. And we had the antelope units marked public landmark. And when you pull it up, it shows from highway to the back of that property is all public grants it. Which shows physically shows the aerial map of the railroad cutting through, but it blocked out as all public land. And that's not the case. No, and I'm going to caveat this and saying, this is not an Onyx problem, because spoiler alert, we talked to local deputy sheriff and the conservation officer. Yes. And they both chuckled at us when we told them what happened and all of this and they're like, yep, we know it's an issue. And so we asked them, what's a better source and they flat out said, there really isn't a source other than talking to us, us the law enforcement and here's what it is. Now, to get into the story since it was my goat and whatever, you and I are with, we've driven by the highway, we saw a nice buck with some windows and we're going to Thomas dropped us off. We go through a tunnel. So what is you guys have probably heard of this, you should probably see these ant wild game animal bridges out west. Well, in Wyoming here, in certain places, there is these wild game and cattle tubes. Because the public ground is also got grazing rights on. And these farmers and ranchers can run their cattle underneath the railroad tracks across the highway into a pasture on the other road. Well, that's public ground is what we confirmed what the deputy. Because the fence goes up and around it. So you can go through that tube into the property, which we've been doing all.

"You had a chance to actually watch football and be a fan these past three days? I try to do it truly. I try to do it in the second half. Try to get all of the kind of business related items done pre game and in the first two quarters and then really try to zero in and even in the first two quarters. I don't want to be inattentive to a conversation. But, um, I'm a peer over his shoulder in between pauses of you know the conversation. It's so fun and so great to have college football back and and what I witnessed in each of those stops. Was this this I think new page that people are hopeful that it will continue and that is Chance to be together. Relationships reunited alums coming back fans, the student athletes who craved a chance to play in a venue like this or in South Bend at Notre Dame Stadium. You can't put the value of what that means right now, especially in the world We live in with, with so much going on and the unstable nous that everyone feels. This is a chance for 3 3.5 hours. To get back to that normalcy that we've so loved in American sports, and we expect over 70,000 here today, Jim, So no matter the outcome, it's going to be a fun and energetic 3.5 hours feel a lot different than what we all watched last year. "This. I think we've seen enough of both where I get your premise, but concern can still be a valid emotion. Like Ryan Pace, Regardless of who the head coaches has swung. Had four separate swings at the quarterback situation. Okay, they collect or five. Aren't we counting Glennon too? Well, I got Glennon Mitch foals. Who else am I looking at? I'm missing Dalton Fields, right? Okay and Dalton But like the fields, yes. I mean, I'm saying prior to drafting fields, you had four you had you had Glennon, Mitch Falls and Dalton. The offensive line has been neglected for years, right? And so there's your personnel situation. I can go through the other list of things. Whether it's Kevin White's It's You know, Now that Kevin Jenkins back issue I mean, you go through the long list of mistakes that they've made. In the drafting front, and you can also look at Matt Nagy knots getting the best out of Mitch or nuts, putting Mitch in a position to take advantage of what he did do well, so you can find fault in both guys as they function on their own, of course, think that they're going to come together and produce magic. And I say this, though, with all this inheriting stuff he's right about But his conclusion is wrong. The big breasts for 20. Plus years have made new coaches work with the old quarterback or a new quarterback. Work with an old coach, then get a new coach and all this stuff and it's rinse. Repeat. All that is, it shows you how bad they are at the top. That's all this. It's It's 20 years of this nonsense. Hey, We've got to find a guy who likes Mitch Travis Key. We can't hire any other coach. Another coach doesn't like Mitch Travis Key. We can't bring him here because you're limiting yourself, and they've been doing this for years. They did it with Cuddy to why I was going to say that when their general managers with with Chris Ballard when they found you got to be able to work with with with Cardi You know, I want to get rid of cutting. You don't get the job, Phil Emery or Ryan paste us. And all that shows you is how bad it is at the top. Well, now flawed there. Yeah, And look, I guess the premise of what he was saying is that this is the first time they've been on the same page being able to To to draft a quarterback that the coach listen. You can maybe it will work out. Maybe this will be the the light at the end of the tunnel, But to be skeptical, is not. I think an unreasonable feeling or emotion at this time, because individually they have both done things that leave you wanting more wanting more. All right. "Fantasy Football convention Saturday. Looking forward to it, all of us will be out there. It's going to be a really good time at 1, 15 Bourbon Street and marionette parked a big, big place. So we'll be given away some tickets if you would like to join us. All right, so I texted our friend. My longtime partner back down the dial many years ago before he came over here to work with Sylvie. It is the great the awesome Tom Waddell, who played in the National Football League, and I said Hey, buddy. This is the question. I asked Wieder. Do you think that players not hitting as much actually doesn't get them in football shape. Dan wisdom all over that. Take I disagree with Dan. Here's what Tommy said. And he has said this on his show, but I want to a part of the our audience who may not have been able to hear him say it. Sure, I think there's a happy medium. What we did back in the day was way too much. I believe the pendulum has swung a little too much to the current days of very little to no hitting. You cannot get into true football shape without doing all the football activities. I do believe the huge number of soft tissue injuries they have experience has to be in some way, a result of not doing enough football related training throughout the year. I always believe the best way to get into football shape. Stay safe at all the have all the necessary resources to be the PQ is to be at the facility as much as possible within reason, By the way, you're right. Every time you go against Sylvie. I don't think that says that. I think you just added that at the end, and I don't I don't think Sylvie appreciates that. Take that. All right, so, But okay, So let me can I respond to that? We embark that all right? Well, let me just tell you that we've had so many people over the years that says we don't need all these preseason games. Just give me just passed for me to the regular season. You know why that is. Because of fantasy football purposes because the gambling purposes and and being selfish, those three things right Celtic football player. Yeah, go ahead because most of those people you're talking about have never played true. Because you just want your football and by the way as a fan, I understand that you want your football college football is like in less than 15 days. I cannot wait for college football can't wait for the NFL season, but the bottom line is that the preseason actually mattered. To the players. You know you have ex players that you've worked with. I'm sure Hampton said as well and we didn't need 56 preseason games. We just want to, but you need to be able have some kind of skin in the game. That feeling of okay. I'm not hitting my teammate. I'm hitting someone else in anger. Where if I heard another guy Well, it's on the other team. It's not my guys, right? How often have you covered a practice capital, which the defense is just dominating the offense? So is with the Bears. Right? All. I mean, we've seen it ourselves. Platteville, Bourbon. A. We've seen this right And so the the idea that well preseason games don't matter well as a fan may not mean anything to you, but it means them to the players to be able to get their strength to be able to say I'm taking another team in preseason, and so I feel like I'm ready to go. That's why preseason matters. And so when you just kind of just not have the hard practices when you're not having pads and you're not hitting anyone in anger, all of a sudden, now you're pulling up lame. It makes it seem like the bears not in shape, and you know that they are correct. So what? I'm saying that the priest he's actually does matter to get yourself in football shape. I agree with you and I agree with what Tommy said. There's a happy medium. I'm not saying they should do three days. A full pads all three times a day and oh, take free run at the quarterback. I'm not saying that I I get that. But there's got to be as York said, your body breaks down when you get to camp, you come in. Feeling good. You're in great shape, cardiovascular wise and then on the treadmill, and you've been lifted and all of it. He said. You've got to get your body broken down where you hit that moment where you're just Your body is struggling, and now you bounce back. Damn, I'm ready now. It's football shape. Think that's how Johnny put it, So it makes sense. He and Tommy No, they played. Yeah, This is why we have friends that played the game because they know the regiment. They know the the hot summers to get themselves ready for the fall in winter. You could get more of that insight from Tommy and from Sylvie. Two o'clock every day on ESPN. 1000. So, yeah, it's just really, really insightful stuff from someone who lined up every day and played in the National Football League and did it very, very well. Boy. When did this start? I wish is gonna want to tell me the start of The line of demarcation in which NFL teams and coaches said We have to wrap our players in bubble wrap. We can't get them hurt, right. It's a physical game, man. Physicality is in football football players play. You can't get physicality out of football. But you can be smart. Yes what you do, but sometimes too smart, though, to the point where it's like, man, you guys not going to hit Not gonna It doesn't feel like football, Probably to some of those players, especially those guys on the offensive line. Defensive line. Gonna hit somebody correct. You're correct because you guys hit somebody in the game. Correct. Then you wonder why the first couple of games the regular season? It's got a little little raggedy, right, You know, like that's the thing that I just think that football players just want to do what they do best, and that's be physical on the field. I know Brady said it, but there was another high level quarterback that said it the other day. Yes, I look forward to getting tackled in a preseason game and the reports of that. Why? He said, because I have to get used to getting hit again. He said. I didn't get hit for six months. I got to get hit. I don't want you to dive at my legs. I don't want to get a concussion, but I do need to feel what it's like being taken to the ground. Sam Donald said that that's who it was. Yeah, I read that, too, he said. I have a little experience maybe too much from being the Jets quarterback. But he said, I got to get hit. I'm a football player, man. That's what I do is crazy. Yes. You see Kevin White? By the way, say sidebar may approach you may Kevin White skin in another run. You see this? I did not. Saints head coach Sean Payton gave us a sink answer on Wednesday whether he was asked whether or not he's going to get Kevin went on the team or not. Kevin White. Still a thing I saw a picture of him. I think I maybe Danny showed it to me. A few months ago, Kevin Wright was working out He was outside. Danny, You remember this? He looked like Mr America. I mean, six pack jacked arms, Jeff. I mean, you looked at me. Oh, my God, Who could tackle that dude? Yet he could never make it. Sean Payton says he likes the size of speed combination as the reason for the interest in Kevin White. Back the overall draft pick from 2015 crazy his seventh year in the league, he says he's 100% healthy. He knows more about the game and more about the business than ever before. Wow. I hope he makes it, man. I hear he's a good dude. And so we'll see. It was a dismal failure here, okay? Right now. Like them up, 3123323776. We're giving away 10 pair of tickets right now to the fantasy football convention, which is Saturday. And you must be vaccinated to go or have a negative covid test within 72 hours of the convention. And i think she had just eventually just become state right back in the old days. You only had one. Tv in the house and so you are watching whatever your parents were watching at that time and you here was this woman who was going in to become a state representative in this in in massachusetts as she grew up right in audit. You know she. She had been living in orchard park. I went to saint patrick's so was right down the street. Rama where i went to school every day. There was a sub shop at dudley. That used to walk so you knew you knew the area. So he was this woman who was essentially you know in in places that you identified walked. Who is now going to be in the in the halls of power mistake and she was this tall she was poised in. That was my first introduction. On then i became a state rep and i became a state rep and what i love about her. I did not respond the as an adult. And she reached out on my. I remember when i was running. Decided to run for office. There were a number of people. I spoke with and she offered her wisdom. I remembered when life got rough in the legislature. And i needed questions in that was seeking direction. She's a person that you pick up the phone and you could talk to. And she would share her wisdom. That that's how i remember her. And then she modeled a lot of the things that i think some of us tried to do. I'm once we were in office. What kind of modeling murray. So for me. Dr is modeled. What it meant onto work across the divides weather. It's across racial lines She she she modeled. That i mean you saw that in her work in the legislature. You saw that in her work in the boston housing authority. She was willing to listen. I mean the leadership of the boston housing authority. While she was there was predominantly white. She was she had a clear vision about what she wanted to elevate the rights of people of color in that space but she again She would probably she would call them on formidable adversaries but she was up to the challenge and she was willing to sit listen and work through it one of the things. I never observed due to demonize. That's not was not her style. She was firm to knew what she wanted to go and she left the table always with the door open that i learned from her. I really did. I get this sense marie that she was really tough. Steely she came to boston. According to the globe in nineteen fifty-three three with ninety eight cents to her name at one point. She really locked horns with boston. Mayor kevin white when she was at the boston housing authority. He was a formidable opponent. And in the end through the courts. She won her dispute with him about her leadership at the boston housing authority. She helped integrate Boston public housing. Did you see her as a as a tough woman. And did she model that for other black women leaders coming up behind her as well to me she was. She was smart and she was donations. And what. I appreciate about her that she stood in her power so yeah kevin white could have had his point of view. She had hers two and she believes she was right and she acted on it. Issue was not boastful. She just acted in did what she believed So yeah i think she was a formidable opponent but she but she worked to build consensus so she was acting with the support of those on She was representing so. Unfortunately i you know. I you know a mayor while at the time did not respect that she was tough event. She'd smile. I mean. I remember for me. Remember a smile you know and particularly when she wanted to probe you on something further because she knew there was more there and you could see it so she. She's she's not she she. You might misjudge because you look at or height and you then you see that. She's a woman and it would be to your detriment if you misjudge the staleness of her character on our intellect in her tenacity

"We didn't obviously try to give them more than they could. at sapped emotionally at any given time You know we ended up having to turn the van back over to the bank. And i didn't rub that experience of having to walk the keys into the bank manager's office in their face and traumatize them with the pain and the agony of that but but at the same time they. They knew enough of the details to note the while. We're not being able to drive that car anymore. And things like that but But then the value of just really pivoting from from Being concentrated on our own needs to being free to look at the needs of others. And just that's really where we try to model faith in front of them. That our faith is god's got us he has promised to take care of our needs. But there's these people that don't yet know that in their life they don't stand on that kind of promise and those are who. We are called to go help and and to love and to care for and and just modeling it with them and so when when that would go out to deliver food they would go with me and they would hell they weren't slaves or you know wasn't a sweatshop but but They would they would definitely have a part of it and it was a family project and so now the values of that project really take root in their heart and they all have spirits of generosity on them And and you know just An appreciation to steward life and steward their resources well but Live open handedly and not hold onto it with a sense of insecurity but To even let it go. If that's what god calls them to. Yeah which hey. That's easier said than done sometimes. Yeah but buddy. I hear you say hey just living life. Yeah please don't hear that. Wow this is a perfect Mom and dad that did this..

"Sir. Wow that's a lot. What what did people not know about. India what do they not know them are. There's it's sensory overload And the people just like us. I mean i really think most of americans that i've encountered Understand at this point they have met probably somebody from india now Where twenty years ago. There was no one in north carolina from india. Now i'm actually as recording this interview. I'm in mooresville north carolina and the largest minority in mooresville are in the nationals here living in the usa and so things have radically changed over. That and I i really think people probably don't know that that is no small act of god That the globe has now become accessible. And we can go over to indian. God can also bring indians here and obviously it's for that high that high mission of extending his presence into people's lives but at this point we've probably all smelled the curry in. We've all heard the dialect and we've realized that they definitely are not from our community but we haven't necessarily got to know them on a first name basis is that they're humans just like us. They have families just like us and they have a lot of values that we could really benefit from And that we could. We could really Us but You know. I need needing to get to know your absolutely. But i love your point to that. There is a absolutely should be able to see the opportunities in the technology that we have right like. Well one thing i think maybe goes overlooked. Sometimes is we were a little critical of rome when we read the new testament because they just sort of took everybody over but the other thing that they did is they built roads right some of which still exists today. That's how good they were. I don't think i eighty is gonna still be there in a two thousand years but their roads still are and what that did is it. Allowed the gospel to travel throughout the entirety of rome in ways that it never could have in the centuries before the same thing is happening today right. Whether whether to your point it's we can fly across the world and be there in a few hours or half a day.

"Twenty five years old out of baba college ministry and i was still trying to appease my dad that i would amount to something and so i was a very high achiever in the youth group would just burst and then the next project. The church gave me just burst. But i was a workaholic. And and i was killing myself. Killing my marriage killing our family and it really never came to a head until i was a church planter. So i've been on staff I ministry. Experience out of college was a youth pastor and then a larger church called me. I was a family life pastor. And then i took a assignment to become a church planter and actually started church from scratch and it now. I'm the leader. And i'm not really following someone else's guidance. I'm having to give guidance to to a staff. And that's when it all sort of blew up and unravel. I literally planted a church for three years. Blood sweat and tears high achievement in this particular group of churches The average trip size was fifty and in three years. We were over one hundred and at that time back in the eighties. That was pretty substantial but Three years into it. That the the government if you will of the church leadership's shifted from the pastor over to a group of of elders and they voted to release me as their pastor and there have been no embezzlement of funds or immorality. It was just the 'cause. I was a maniac for god out of control and i was hurting. An hour is really defensive and hurting down and it i. I really greed later over the them. Fortunate trail that. I had blazed In that guy did work inspired me and he always works inside us. And i'm so grateful for that But it took that experience of them. Having to release the pastor to really put me flat on my face and ministry to a place that i had nowhere to go other than into the presence of god and well sort of went through a job experience. And now i wanna hear arise. Yeah i want to hear more about that so a couple of observe a couple things so first of all.

"Got you get a bible degree. Yes great studying scripture. And probably i'm guessing from waste early probably really enjoyed that Yeah i had a monitoring youth ministry in monitoring music and ositive experience. Said you become a youth pastor. I did i did. I was already a part time youth pastor before. I graduated and as soon as i graduated. They took me full-time And it was very Very nominal pay by It was it was definitely a gift from god to be able to serve teenagers of of that church during that time and we still have deep friendships with a lot of their families and the students and a love how you can connect on facebook and social media with people that you haven't even talked to in twenty thirty siding. I love that. And i. I think a few years ago i messaged my high school youth leader and i just love what i was up to and he was so thrilled right because he obviously invested a ton of time in me and i was glad this shocking when a student From the past you know communicates. I remember how you were there that time and and it just had a profound impact on my life and guy really used you to change my life. And i'm like what when. When did that happen But it's very encouraging 'cause you know at times we just we we really sell ourselves short in general You know whenever it comes to just impact at great when god for a sweet spot yeah rela like mink urging. Let's go okay. So how did How did your relationship in kenya. Discipleship developed their between studying the words that setting bible and doing your degree and then also administering. Because i know that can be that can be sort of sort sorta tough and it's different when you are reading scripture devotional versus studying it for for a paper right. Yeah yeah so in the book. I really talk about having to have some of my life. And how for twenty years. I was a believer in jesus But i really had misunderstanding of of just guides grace and and our y what it meant to be free in christ and to rest and in christ and the let god do the work through was and then the second half of my life of really experiencing the courage and the freedom of guide and the biproduct of that. Bnl days generosity and said. That's the book but what you're really diving deeper into. Is that first half. And and i just want to connect a couple of dots are very turbulent childhood. Really left me with with some significant backpage. And and i really went into bible college then and into ministry Really and a performance driven Relationship with god yeah. I'm meaning that that. I really thought my mission in life was to do a great thing for god and so no offering was enough. No attendance was enough. No event was enough. It always had to be bigger and better because i was really trying to appease guide instead of realizing that the grace of god is i've never done anything to deserve his love and i'll never do anything to lose his life and it wasn't until i was thirty years old that i really understood that for the first time in my life and ministry at that moment Really through a mission trip to india went from being a half to to get to and and so Bobble college those first years of ministry Were glorious but they were also very challenging because my filters of god's purpose and his expectations were were all skewed because of my childhood. Unfortunately my dad's way of discipline was screened. Kevin you'll never amount to anything while. And so i didn't even realize it. Psychologically but here..

Wow that was a miracle because remember my my father Really challenging me You know if if you want to be a preacher than go to good old baptist school where it's not going to cost so much. Why do you wanna go to a school outside out of out of state And i just said. I just said dad if god is calling me he he'll he'll provide. I'm not don't don't be burdened by this. But he kept giving me a hard time and everything and i just i just kept waiting on the lord and my parents. We had filled out the financial aid and they made too much to help me. But they didn't make enough I mean they made too much to qualify for financial aid. But they didn't make enough to help me and everybody just kept saying how you're gonna pay for college. And i don't know but if he wants me to go he'll take care of it and he paid for my first year and that sort of got me there and then once i got there get a bunch of work. I don't even know if you know her name but she and her name but she helped you in a way that probably you couldn't you couldn't have expected you. You couldn't have like predicted and you may be even had a hard time. You know paying for college but she took care of it in and god used her to provide something just as part of a job right just because she because she was impressed with you. I think that is awesome and friends. I think you can. You can do the same thing i mean. Who can you. Can you help in a way that You know that. Maybe maybe his unexpected. Or maybe god's asking you to your maybe just part of what you do but might have a huge effect down the line. Which i guess. We'll talk about as as we go here. But that's it's a it's a big deal. That's pretty impressive kevin. I i love that story. Thanks for sharing them. Yeah i i've been able to share it so thanks for the. Oh that's fantastic to get to share it. Those are the ones. I love to hear. Because i think in my opinion where my experience anyway. It's easy to think about You know just a humdrum life like your normal life like every day right but when you can see how something you do impacts and changes someone else's life and then maybe changes other people's lives because of that. That's when i started to get excited all that connectivity right. Oh that's that's the way that the gospel goes and this is the way that it's spread throughout the history of the church so cool so you went to school..

Fortunately i was raised in the church. And i did give my life to christ understood the gospel in the need for salvation when i was ten and have been baptized but it was just good old southern christianity of you know basically what i what i term is fire insurance and not really a discipleship of a live in relationship with god and so it h. I took my fire. Insurance definitely respected. Jesus a savior. I really had no clue. About the whole lordship part and to our seventeen found myself really yearning for more. And i just prayed a simple prayer guidance. There's more to you than i realized. I wanna know it. And it's like i didn't even know the presence of the holy spirit at that point but looking back god really Poured out the holy spirit on me and he just gave me such a thirst for the word as a seventeen year old..
