That's what unexpected means shouldn't have to reiterate that, but I'm going to. That's why you need to be prepared. Because every time you get in the car, you don't know what's gonna happen Most of the time. Yeah, You're gonna be fine. But accidents do happen every single day. Why do you think the four or fives always backed up? That's why you need to have this number in your phone. Ready to go. 833874275833874275. That's 833 88 shark. You won't have to deal with that on your own and have them try to give you a nothing deal. When you got hurt, and your vehicle got hurt, you need to make sure that you get a fair shake, and that's what he's gonna do. He's also gonna help you get the medical treatment that you need. Because you know what Sometimes even a small accident could lead to long lingering injuries. Got to take care of yourself. And also it's a good idea to have that phone number because I've been in an accident. Not my fault, and Sometimes you forget exactly what you're supposed to do. Like getting witness statements taking pictures of everything. Documentation is so important. And you know what? In those few moments right after an accident, unite, not be thinking clearly, so The only thing you need to do is put this number in your phone under accident. 833 88 shark ate 33874275833.

"Oh, yes. Yep, and the Daryl sting. I still hate the Raiders cuz what they did Darryl Stingley and if anybody remembers that if nasty hit that left him paralyzed for the rest off Tatum, yeah that is a sad part of the Patriots history certainly and also the Raiders stole a playoff game from them. So when the Patriots had the whole like tuck Rolex no game thing. I had absolutely zero sympathy for Raiders fans. I'm with you I'm with you and things have changed since then. That's right. They're Vegas now. Yeah, I mean any games in in Foxboro Kevin never been there. I've been to Yankee games, but never been to In fact other than the Dallas Cowboys were just convenient. I have not been to any pro football games at first. So that's on my bucket list. Now that I have a little more time being being away or at least mine a little more flexible being outside of Chesapeake what Kevin you tell me when you want to go up there and I'll I'll make it happen sounds good to me. I was actually up last year for my birthday. The Patriots are playing the Cowboys, but it was raining and thirty degrees and I'm like, you know, I think I'll just watch this in a bar with my friends. I think they're wise move as we age Kevin. We we suggest figuring things out more. So so tell me about your consulting company. What are you focused on it's called Peak, right? Yeah a peek. You don't have to really try too hard to figure out maybe but to be yep. I just I loved my days there. I don't regret one thing that happened during those times with the exception of Mister McLendon's death and I was actually out but I started off I guess in November and started thinking about what what what I want to do and really decided I wanted to get back into Consulting. I'd done a little bit in the nineties when I was with Chesapeake when we put ourselves up for sale and I loved it. And so really what we've focused on is just looking at we start with a field and we kind of look at how the field are doing their their jobs and how we can make it more more efficient and I do share a lot of what I know, you know without charging fees like with the blogs and stuff things were doing here. And the reason I do that is it's kind of a the Google method I think with Dentures they put that stuff out there and then they learn so much from what people say and respond I found that to be true. So I we started with fieldwork and we moved on now didn't pick the best time and Ed. You know March was not a great time to be on but it's back up in June and July it's really been a lot of fun and I've met so many new people and so many companies but I think that the one.

"They exploited every possible technology and they spread that to the rest of organization and they showed I mean, there's people all over that place that you would be righty and they weren't they were just somebody came up with an idea of how to use, you know, a laptop or or a technology and field or whatever a little bit better and they spread that around everybody else and the more you did that long to get pumped and they say, hey we can use this you know with for that whether it was a spot fire. It didn't matter any new technology people were just before but to me, that's a perfect segue into how you and I met Kevin and I'm not sure if you remember this, but I think was I was with seven legs at the time and it actually had a GDs conference had met with one of your colleagues at the time who set me up with Matt Mayhew, right who was like no production team and ended up coming in and talking to you guys and I remember having conversations and and what I found fascinating this again M 2014 early 2015. I remember you saying Jeremy. I don't want to have a conversation around field data log. Sure. I want to talk about routing by exception and production optimization. And and now that seems totally normal, right everyone has to do that. But this was a point where that didn't come up as much some Curious sort of winter did hit your radar that we have to do more than just send guys out to drive around in a triangle or an oval or Circle and hit the same stops every day versus start being more like the Uber for the oil field and be more proactive than reactive. I think honestly it started probably around 99 that we started thinking about that. That's where we were going. I don't we didn't call it that but what we would realize that we were making some indoor we started in 99 doing a ton of acquisition. And in order to do that. We did at one point over a hundred and thirty-five Acquisitions in Thursday 8 to 10 year. And so from my side what we were responsible for back then were several things, but the primary one when we go live with a an acquisition you need to have a hundred percent of the production month. Historically imported, you know pulled in because data is key. Our Reservoir Engineers can make better forecasts. Therefore, you know, we we hit our numbers. We had our cash flow forecast. All that information had to be in their day one and you think about it some of those were 30-day clothes and we figured out ways to manipulate data to get to just start that from there. We started thinking okay then how long can we use some of this data over time to build different tools? Whether it was a surveillance to lure, you know a new field capture.

"I don't know many people in this industry who have larger networks. I ask Kevin. Hey, I'm talking to this company and in Denver or Austin or Oklahoma. Do you know this person? I know the CEO. I mean you gotta dive into the fact that you are super early on at Chesapeake and and stayed for twenty nine years, I believe and now I've transitioned to doing consulting. But but first I want to start with those early days. What was it like in what are we talking early nineties? Yeah, but yeah, it was Nineteen Ninety. I came right out of school. My sister-in-law actually worked in Chesapeake and was Aubrey McClendon's first employee and so for about a year, I had been hearing pitches. Hey, you need to come down. You need to come Chesapeake. He called me one day I said, can you interview at 6:30 today or yeah, 6:30 tomorrow actually and I said, yeah, I'll be left to and I said I'll be up there and he said yep. 6:30 a.m. And that's not really got there at six-thirty. I interviewed by 6:45 or so. You know, he hired me and I started that day I have off in between classes. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, and I worked at 9 till 10:00 and it was like that for the really the next twenty years almost but and it was so much fun because you had two young guys. I mean he was Thirty-One at the time. I was twenty-two and his partner. Tom Ward was would have been 31 as well. They were the same age on most of the day. So it was just there so much going on they were so Dynamic and there weren't very many young people in the industry idea. Everybody had left in the eight. So it was it was a blast and it was I was an account and I was a kid coming out of school and three months in just I was miserable and I'll brief him into the man you'd you don't really look very happy. I said, I'm not he said you want to go out in the field and and start a new order a new birth. Forest doing some Service Company where can I sit on done I'm out there so I kind of started my fieldwork but that's the way it was. It was Dynamic. He was always they were always looking for the best place to put people and off and that shouldn't you know happened throughout my career? Yeah, you can never accuse them of letting the grass grow under their feet. It was quick decisions fast-moving, you know, go pick up a lease here and get the data and start working it it was and that and data was the key right even back then even if it was manual. I mean they they were doing the first people I knew that had fax machines in eighty-nine. Ninety eight. They burn that fax paper up that old. I don't know what you call them is kind of a fast blue and it would spin around and Quirrell up but they would send it back to each other all day long driving them around. I mean, I didn't do any accounting that page here and really much after that, but they were just whatever the new technology was. And of course it was it was fax machines, but it was that was crazy. So they would wage. Jump on it, man. I feel like I feel like doing a lineal check on having to tell people what a fax machine is do we need to do that or no? We're probably passed that law. It's it's I mean people have scanners. I think they're somewhat familiar with the concept, but I can just hear that sound in the background. They said it would so Kevin. Where are you from? Are you from Oklahoma? Yeah Europe in and what we call the mid-del area where kind of college athletes came out over the years..

"To share with your host and Lead storytellers talo. And dr. Funkenstein River addicted to do Tim has a story that he wants to start off with today. So I'm going to turn it right over to my man, you know, so we talked a lot about travel on this show and I was in preparation for this show off was thinking about one of my first trips to Oklahoma City before Bricktown was there before any of that stuff was there I was going up to visit a really small company who was an elephant rock player. They were all there was, you know, nobody not everybody knew what they were but were pretty small company I get up there at lunch. My meetings at 1 but I get up there about a half hour early and the reception desk is locked down. There's nobody there that all the buildings are locked and you know, I want to get in and set up before birth and some knocking on the little basement windows cuz I can see people there. There's only two buildings at this time and I couldn't get anybody anybody's attention. And so finally someone looks up in the little basement window glass and sees me Runs Out opens a door brings me in cuz he wrecked knew I was there for that meeting brings me down. He says yeah. We in order to get our Network time. We play our World War Two game Simulator game over lunch. So we're not interfering with anybody's, you know, ethernet and turns out so anyway, this was Chesapeake back in the mid maybe mid-to-late nineties when they were young and chock player. It was fasting so the campus so I juxtaposed that to what happened. Now you go up to the Chesapeake campus now and it's it's buildings and parking garages and so Thursday, Fields and yes, it's just an amazing, you know like a junior college. So it's beautiful. Yeah, absolutely. It's beautiful. But you know back then it was you know, these guys all gathered at lunchtime play this role playing World War Two game while everyone else is scattered off to go eat lunch was just a lot of fun to sit and watch the last few minutes one team takes the access powers and one team takes the Allied powers in Iraq. They're talking over the Internet. It's just like, you know, it's a foreshadowing to where we're going to be and you know the in 2000s with video games, but it was just fun to kind of see that culture. Yeah juice playing together at lunch and you know, it continues to this day when you go up there and you see everyone out exercising on the campus and kind of doing things is really a neat thing. So anyway, that was the early days of Chesapeake. So I was really excited to see Kevin Kolb joining the show cuz you know, we can start talking about some of those kind of early days with Chesapeake. So with that yeah, my my man Kevin Decker super excited to have Kevin on the show a man off. At least in Oklahoma circles needs no introduction..

At Least 50 Cars In Whittier Area Shot With BB Gun

"Yesterday there was another bonkers story that came out of Whittier where there was a criminal ring that vandalize some fifty cars all over the city where they were breaking windows breaking windshields causing as much damage as humanly possible without really much explanation joining us for more on this is K. A. B. C. reporter Kevin trip Kevin thank you so much for joining us yeah anytime John and police are now calling this a quote massive vandalism spree spread over three different areas were talking about we do here as well as la Habra and Pico Rivera which are all bordering each other they believe that these are all interconnected as you said about fifty vehicles just in the span of a few minutes of smashed out windows different types of projectiles like babies are pellets shot through these windows they don't have a suspect yet but this is a big case right now where the cars are robbed or were they just vandalized there is no indication right now that they were robbed however we're still collecting information so it could turn out that the worst thing stolen but right now we know that they were definitely shooting out windows of these cars sometimes the back window sometimes the side windows sometimes both with either a pellet gun or a BB gun we've even seen on some rang it camera video from people's front doors where you can see a car drive by and then you can hear the shot are going through the window and then you can even hear the car alarms sounding after the window shot out so it's not clear where these kids are you know teenagers are going out for a night of vandalism was a somebody else with some other type of motive it's also significant to note that during this osprey which they now think is probably connected in these three areas somebody was actually shot a person was shot with one of these BB or pellet guns that of course raises the stakes are not just talking about felony vandalism you're now talking about a potential assault case the targeting park cars or were they targeting cars that were in motion with people in them it sounds like most of the all of these were parked cars there's been some neighbors interviewed and one case a woman said I came out of my house went to go check on my car it turned out my car was fine but I looked at my neighbor's car and it was all shot up so it does seem like it may be kind of a random act were somebody or some people were driving in this car shooting out window after window after window and we up possibly just kind of a luck of the draw whether your car window got shot out in la Habra or Pico Rivera I'll wait here I saw some of those cars on the news this morning it looked like a piece of Swiss cheese I thought Biggie Smalls was set and one of them yeah you know I've shot my fair share of BB guns and pellet guns and this must have been a really powerful air rifle because typically you know that's not the type of weapon you would think would shatter a car window especially modern car windows which are designed to not shatter very easily so I don't know exactly what the ballistic characteristics of this gun was but I can imagine it was something very powerful because when you look at these windows you would first think okay what was in a three fifty seven a twelve gauge it looks like something a firearm would have taken out but apparently police saying that they believe it was some sort of palette or
