"Account the next morning. Now, the rates vary from two point six. To three point, three percent and we give you a better rate the more money you have invested with us not the more money you borrow. So as you go to a traditional brokerage or bank, they give you more better rates for borrowing more money. We don't think that's a good incentive. We want to create an incentive for you to save more, but the lowest rate is two point six percent. And so there's no paperwork literally no paperwork people who use this service. Can't believe vid exists. Yeah. It's crazy because I have friends that you know they're talking about well. They should be doing, but they almost just refinance their car or have credit cards and used have a much better rates my missing nothing, and by the way, there's no minimum payment monthly. So the interest accrues and you can pay it all off at the end. Whenever you want to. That's pretty awesome. It's almost too good to be true I know it feels like it. That's kind of searching for a question I'm like, okay. What is what I did some kind of something I'm missing here for but consistent theme is by implementing everything in software we lower the cost and we share the savings with our client what a novel idea the the problem is financial institutions don't share. Yeah. Let's Great. It's a it's a fantastic product in I'm honored to be an investor is well Y- few rounds ago early days. Will they andy thank you so much for being on the show obviously One last question? Have you written a book about any of these like entrepreneurial kind of principles or do you have your version of Ray? Dahlia's book out there? No. Time between running the company and teaching at Stanford. I am flat out. So a lot of people have asked me to write about product market fit have you had I'd love to, but I just don't have the time. Against blogging so it's not going to happen. There is I. I'd blog a blog about personal finance. So it's not about your career advice enough things like that, but we do blog about. Actually what we do in our blog is again, very counterintuitive. We offer data driven actionable advice on personal finance. So if you read most personal finance blogs, they give you the traditional rules of thumb. But when you apply when you look at the data, the rules of thumb actually seldom work. So we explore a bunch of misperceptions about personal finances. In a newsletter as well. No. Just if you go to blog that wealthed dot com, you got like just if you just search for the wealth from blog. Published one or two posts every week I'd love to see that in a newsletter as well. That'd be really cool does your is your Stanford courses it online It isn't because it's a I teach using the case method lectures lend themselves much better to posting online. "A warm welcome to our guest. Kevin Rose how talk talk. Hey the hell happened. Are You doing well thank you? How are you good other cabin? It's right at sully. Never happened guests not yet no this but I'm it's happened before in life. You do that awkward. Hey Kevin and Kevin meet you back but I'll tell you I'm a little jealous YOU'RE IN ORLANDO. I Love Orlando. I loved the area. I love the weather. You know we talk a lot about whether on here because we talked to people all over the country and what you experience over over us and we had a woman on a few weeks back. Deanne Saito retired judge or Whistleblower judge and she's in San Diego in that really pissed me off because they have like the best weather out of the entire country in San Diego today for sure well for the purposes of this podcast I'll let the weather things slide and plus your name's Kevin so you gotta be cool right too so you created something for combat veterans returning from being deployed right correct. Can you tell us where? And how it all started out. So the name the program is called the catalyst and I at the. The idea came Twenty years ago nine eleven. It was like everybody else saying. Hey what am I supposed to do here? What do I need to do and it just got really clear information? We were going to war and I needed to create a program to help those coming home. Field grounded and peaceful so lots of years went by. I'm a licensed massage therapists. That's my career. I've been massage therapist for twenty five years and I worked with a doctor who he did a lot of programs for combat. That's free so I got the opportunity to do a lot of work with them and I saw that we could get them to relax but we couldn't they wouldn't stay there. They couldn't stay relaxed so I thought you know there's gotta be something something else and I've always worked with animals as well and I had the opportunity because I worked with Dr. He trained thousands of therapists. From all over the world and so therapists would come and you know every now and then one would peak my interest in this one lady. She worked hands on with wolves. And I had the opportunity to go where wolves and it was at a place called Wolf Park. Inbound Grant Indiana which was in itself Park where they studying wolves in their natural habitat. So there's about thirty eight hundred closure with a pack of Seven Wolves and I'm actually going there to work on the wolves physically for there to help them heal injuries. So we walk into this enclosure in Ever seen a wolf in real life but there are about one hundred. Twenty five hundred. Fifty pounds are massive animal and all seven of these wolves come charging me. Because I'm the new guy. Well my heart was in my throat and as you can imagine right. It's got these seven wolves circling me bumping and growling and didn't know what to do so I call him this I. My Grandmother Taught me this technique when I was twelve years old called a grounding techniques and I thought that's all got here so I started grounding and as I did the wolves just literally moved away from me. So you purposely put yourself in this position. Yeah Yeah I did now they. They've been raised. They've been hand raised so they're used to people right okay but they're still wild animals and there was and I was the new guy so grounded myself the wolves just they just dissipated. They walked away and I was like man. That's incredible. Did that really happen. So I started raising my stress level again just to test it and sure enough. They came back in and started thumping growling again so grounding myself and as soon as I did they walked away and then they started coming up one at a time and let me were hands on with them and even the Alpha submitted himself to me which was pretty remarkable. So how this experience I thought you know what I need some kind of dynamic that I can match the warrior dynamic and I think this is the way to do it without predators. Long Story Short. I found a. I work with a rescue animal sanctuary here in the area and when I started volunteering. Talk to the near-total what I wanted to do. It turns out her father was Vietnam vet committed suicide as a result of PTSD so she opened her doors to do. Whatever you want. Started working with tigers leopards and doing this process. And I'll tell you what a- a- let me explain a little bit about what it is so I'll have the person when the person shows up I'll have them Think of something stressful Then I teach this really simple technique that turns down stress immediately. I'm GONNA show both you guys here in a minute just so you can get an idea of what it is. And then as we approach seen closures the animals will literally mirror whatever. The person is feeling so. They're angry or frustrated than the animal will begin to pace. We'll our way that I teach this. I have remind him of this technique and when they ground themselves they can watch the animals subtle as well. So it's literally a biofeedback program but it's working with the big cats and if you've ever been up close and personal to a big cat most people haven't so creates this dynamic words. An excitement and that excitement is the same dynamic. Fear right and so they just react to respond to that. I would have started with Goldfish. I great idea like the glass intense. Oh like these wild animals. They're very Alpha Alpha male. Pack Animals. That's going to be absolutely yeah. It was it was absolutely terrifying. And you know I did walk into voluntarily And as I was in there what have I done right but you know it came about and it really was for lack of better words. Meant to be That I can walk into that and experience so you go through all this experience and then you trigger this okay. This could help solve people's mental shortcomings or or st or whatever. I'm sure you didn't well. Maybe it did have the funds to be able to just create this big sanctuary for people or essentially like a zoo type thing. How did you start? Did you start small with like one animal and then work your way up? Or how'd that no I? Actually I found we moved to Orlando to South Florida and when we moved up here started looking for facilities to work with actually went to the big parks to see if I could you know. Get my way in. But it just wasn't happening and it turns out there was a woman that has a place about five miles from my house. It's a ten acre animal sanctuary rescue sanctuary and She rescued animals from adverse situations and gives them a forever home and so I basically walked in At the time there were Three Tigers to black Asian leopards couple of bears as I had really the readymade setup to just walk in and begin testing I ran the program with friends and family for about five years Just to make sure I had everything on par and then about five years later started have my first combat through the program so when you decided to start working with the combat fats which was It sounds like the original thought. Did you have a tough time getting out to them? Because I know slowly and I were talking before you joined into the recording that you know regardless of what you're doing in the world when you start a business not everybody knows about it you know about it and you constantly think about it so you think everybody else knows about it but to get that word out. Did you have to know somebody in the military or use military connections to get the word out that you were there? It's all been word of mouth and grounded out to be quite honest with you. I've I've taken all the marketing programs courses but every step away is really just been. Everything's been presented to me so I have friends that say. Hey I have a friend. That's a combat bet. Would you be willing to work with it? And then it goes from there. What happens is after that because of social media They'll get on. They'll online with their friends. That were in their company in there. You know there and they'll say hey man. I had this experience. She should go check it out. And so that's how it just kind of starts rolling. I tried to work with the. Va a couple of different times. And you know it was like Banging my head against the wall so it was like you know what I'm just GonNa keep on this road and so over the past five years I've had about one hundred vets combat vets come through and I I also walk their families through it because it's not just for them as for the family as well. This isn't to solve PTSD but when it does is it gives them a grounding in a base to work from it gives them the empowers them to know that they can do something instead of spinning out of control. Because that's typically what has happened. I mean along the same lines. Yeah you and I or you and US both are working towards the same thing here. We create this content as a diversion technique to get people's mind off of the bad thoughts their thinking and if we can do that for even fifteen minutes then we've changed the course of the thought process for the rest of that day in maybe stop somebody from doing something that they ultimately would regret And you do the same thing. Only with animals and a bio feedback thing which is great that you brought that up because we had talked to Dr Lynette Louise who is a neurologist and she does all the neural feedback and no biofeedback stuff in dealing with children with autism. A absolutely wonderful. It is really powerful and you know the interesting part B. is that we're actually not distracting Anybody from anything what I found. If you think about it what do you do when you're hungry you eat what are you doing? You're drink ruin years and when you're tired what do you do you sleep right. So the the body will give you biological cues. It will tell you when something's going on when it needs something but when we're hungry thirsty and tired we don't freak out we take care of it. We counted it by eating. Drinking and sleeping will stress and pain or the same way stress painter biological shoes. And they're they're actually your body saying. Hey come inside so grounding what that does is it brings back into your body and you're not distracting distress actually distracts you from the bottom. And so when you come back inside the body the body goes okay and so say shapes that for a moment just like eating drinking and sleeping you don't you don't just get hungry thirsty and sleepy one time and then it's done right. It's it's a consistent thing so that's why I teach this grounding method because when we get stressed it in pain then we have something to and and while talk about. Can I share it with you? Guys? It takes about thirty seconds. Would you be willing to to check it out? All right excellent excellent. You got something to drink there. I saw you had something to drink some going to. Just keep it handy right. So what I'm GonNa do is I'm GonNa have fielded chair underneath you. Just feel the chair. You're sitting in. Wiggle your toes a little bit. What that does is it. Brings you all the way down into your body? It makes you realize a whole body. And then as we're doing this. I'm GonNa have to think of something stressful. Yeah all right. So as you're thinking about that stressful thought notice. Where in your body does it translate? You feel your neck shoulder stomach. Tighten up. What are you notice like chills from my neck? Okay I feel very heavy. Okay buttocks okay. So.

"Everybody kevin rosier welcome back to another episode followed me up on instagram kevin rose there you could see all my shenanigans there or you can also not or but also you can go in in leave a five star review if you enjoy this podcast which i think think you're gonna love this episode i'm so glad and thrilled that you hit play on this one because it is one of my recent favorites chris fos is the author of a book called never split the difference all about negotiation he spent twenty four for years and they fbi's he was the chief international hostage and kidnapping negotiators so he has a ton of experience and really what this book taught me is that negotiation is so much deeper than i thought i always thought you know sit down at the table if you're opponent and you kind of go back and forth on price and eventually find something that feels comfortable andrew agree in you get on with her life that was a completely naive approach this whole thing there are so many little tactics tactics improving psychology that you could deploy when you're negotiating with someone to get a better price there's so many times when we used negotiation that we just don't even think about it like for example i mean there's obvious stuff right where you just want a better price in the car but there's other things like maybe you want a raise your job or maybe you want to approach the person at the desk and trying get an upgraded seat on that flight you're about to get on or maybe you're at a department store and there's no sales but you'd like a slight discount on something there's just thousand little ways that you could enter in into a negotiation in a lot of this is all about the psychology the information gathering in the bond that you're creating which you're opponents so really we the first half this podcast is about some tactics that we get into to create aid deeper connection with the person you're negotiating with this is critical so we get into something called mirroring how you near the person that makes them feel like they're being heard we could in something called labeling how you could labeled their emotions so that they also feel like they're getting hurt it builds up that trust with that person why you should be aware of the word yes you actually don't wanna hear the word yes i'm why you should avoid the word fair a we'll talk about round numbers how round numbers don't seem like they're considered so for example will get into this later but i'll just give you a quick example if you wanna pay twenty dollars for something you would never say i'll give you twenty dollars because that just seems like some kind of random dumb round number versus if you said gosh you know i can give you nineteen dollars and twenty five cents that sounds very considered that sounds like you put some thought into it sounds like that's the maximum you could possibly go in so that tends instead they make the other party think and believe that that is your best offer so there's little tiny tricks and tips like that all sprinkled throughout this a podcast that i think you'll enjoy in the book is phenomenal to i i gotta tell you i this is gonna be great it's great primer for you but go back at the book and do what i did and just like highlight the crap out of you learn a ton anyway tons of great information here really hope you enjoyed the show i think the best place to start would be just to cover background like how did you get started in negotiation is this something that you.

I'm doing some vitamin D experiments where I'm actually using lights that put off UV be raised to create vitamin d naturally in the body since above an organ, and we're not getting any UB exposure right now. So his away from me to not take supplements. But actually the natural way. So this is one of the stupid things that I do that. I actually document for you to watch. Anyway, Trey Ratcliff reached out to me here about on a no maybe a year ago and said, hey, just wanted to let you know, I've created this beautiful kind of video series or not video but short film that highlights some of the talks that were given by Alan watts. I'm gonna link this up in the show notes because you have to go watch us L, watts is a floss. For that. I absolutely love. And I think he's one of the one of the philosophers that was really famous for bringing a lot of eastern teachings to the west and he had these like beautiful British accent. And he put together this video, and I found it so compelling that actually put it my meditation app oak that people could then click on watch it. Anyway, that was my first kind of like introduction to trae. I knew who he was because insanely famous on Google, plus when I was at Google, and I remember he was like one of the most follow people on Google, plus which is millions of followers because of his photography. And it's for tiger Fay's just it's top notch. It's insane. Trae the unique thing about him is that he wasn't in a photographer until much later in life. He he didn't pick up a camera until he was into his thirties. And so he's one of these guys at decided to pick up a camera and then figured out how to use command line. Techniques. Oh, I don't want to spoil it. I really want you to to hear how he got started. How he was able to engineer his way into creating these really beautiful photos that were unique in in. No one was doing at the time. And now his photos are insanely collectible his prince alone confess over one hundred thousand dollars a print, and he has a new book that he's coming out with where he's talking about how to build a social media following and also highlighting relate..

"Dot com. Yeah. You have that food pyramid that you came up with like a modified your own version of it that I thought was was great at has any remember at the very top is dark chocolate. That's right, which I'm a big fan of and green tea is also in in that as recommended beverage. That's great. So so last question herbs and spices. You mentioned, you know, I enjoy Rosemary of her about some of the beneficial effects there anything else in the urban spice category. That I talked about these fighter nutrients, these protective fighter nutrients that are plants you want to get as many of them in as many different kinds into you as possible and the way to do that is to eat regularly a great variety of fruits vegetables herbs. Spices beverages, and I would say even intoxicants things like marijuana coca Kat. Chocolate. All of these have unique compounds in them and with herbs and spices. I think at as many as possible get to get failure with ones that you don't usually use. You know night jealousy is a black Kumon fan of Greek Asif Edita. You know, all these spices that are used in various parts of the world. They all have unique fight oh protective compounds in and it's fun to and I love going to the grocery store and applying random stuff and then looking at later figuring out how to cook it part of the fun. Good. Well, doctor while thank you so much for being on the show. Obviously, we want people to drink as much much as possible high quality macho because it's it's healthy for you. "Hebert. Kevin rosier. Welcome back to another sewed of the Kevin rose show real quick plug. My Instagram is Instagram dot com slash Kevin rose. That's at Kevin rose on Instagram lately, I've been into some medicinal mushroom foraging. So out here in Portland, there's some lion's mane that we've talked to several different people on the show talked about the benefits of lion's mane in the cognitive sense. Meaning that you take it and you get smarter not Nestle smarter. But it improves your brain helps with the call neurogenesis of the creating of new neurons at least they've proven that in a lab setting with mice. But a lot of people report really positive things, I'm experimenting with that stuff and a few other different mushroom compounds that are completely legal not the legal stuff, all my Instagram stories. So you can check it out there. Also want to tell you about my meditation app oak, meditation dot com. It's for Iowa's only right now. It's completely free. We've got a bunch of great courses working on some new course. Purses. But not in the sense of we're trying to compete with head space or calm, really what we're trying to do is just train you to build a sit and meditate on your own. You shouldn't have to use. A course my belief is that obviously -mongst don't use meditation, apps or courses, they get training. And then they sit and you should enjoy your practice and just build a sit, and we have an unguarded timer for that. We also have some great breathing exercises. It's all free oak meditation dot com today. I am talking to maisy Williams who you also might know as Arya stark on game of thrones really random thing that occurred. Basically, I had a friend that sent me a taxed and was like, hey, do you know, our star from game of thrones maisy like she's got a new app out? And you know for first of all, obviously, I'm a big fan. Love game of thrones love her character on game of thrones. But you know, what I have celebrities reach out, and I've had this happened in the past. It's just because you're a celebrity doesn't necessarily translate to being a good app developer. And then I've had a lot of snow. Breeze pitch. Just not the best apps. Just they have random ideas that pay somebody to go on build it, and it's not really something that probably should exist. But that's okay. You know, everyone should try out new things. And that's how you learn. But a cool thing about mazes idea is I went and downloaded it. It's on its called. Daisy. D I s I e and it's essentially a platform for creative so people that are into film, or fashion or photography or art. They also poetry and literature on there as well. And for creatives to come together and share ideas and kind of build upon each other's ideas. And I haven't really seen a platform like this like she wants it puts out a good point that there's a few different creative platforms kind of like graphic designers, and there's linked in and things like that. But you don't really know what to use link in for outside of just job searches. There's not really a way to collaborate in a deep way. So I like what she's doing? And I thought the app was a cool idea. She's working on a new version of it that I think is going to address. A lot of the things that jumped out to me initially. So I kind of considered the one that's in the app store right now to be beta. But I'm excited to see her next release, and it was cool to sit down with their randomly. She was in New York at the same time. I was I don't live in New York. But I was out there for a board meeting, and she was like, hey, let's get together face to face. So I grab some studio time at a local studio, and we sat down she is so sweet and so nice. And it was just a joy to spend time with her, and yes, she's just as nice as you would think she is an person in real life. And I'm excited. She's a young entrepreneur doing some pretty awesome work. So this is Macy Williams, aka Arya stark. Well, first of all I want to get only one game of thrones question out of the way. Because it's like why you're on the show you got. Minds a little bit more around kind of like how you memorize all this stuff..

"Hey everybody welcome back to another episode of the kevin rose show crypto addition this is my second podcast dabbling in cryptocurrency because well frankly it's pretty hot topic right now and i really love it so if you don't like crypto when you see these being labelled as the crypt osho in my feed you can escape amend go onto other episodes for those of you that are first time listeners to this podcast all the other episodes they're not crypto tend to be related to selfimprovement in that can be in a variety of things that can be through personal finance it can be through body hacking i'm with talked about intermittent fasting of had some great guests on the show so i hope you will check out those other episodes because there are a lot of fun but i want to start bringing in crypto guests from time to time and really talk about these projects because there's just so many coins these days irs over a thousand of them that are on some of these tracking sites and you've probably heard about the top five or the top three in the ones that are listening on coin base in such but there's so many other exchanges and so many other really cool projects that are launching but the problem is allowed mer scams and we really have no clue who is behind these projects what their intentions are the types of teams that they've assembled in some my hope is to find some of these lesser smaller coins with interesting teams behind them and bring them on the show and then hopefully be able to take what is very technical jargon and break it down into something that anyone will be able to enjoy understand so i hope to do that today with our guest who is from zen cash and i have on robbed the aloni rob is the cofounder of zinc cash and he has done he has a really interesting project that i'm pretty excited about i started getting into it researching at here just a few days ago and reached out to him on twitter and was.
