"Me now. New hosts of pitmasters season to Kevin Roberts Kevin horrigan buddy. Pregnant. And of course I know nothing about barbecue. You pre-. PREEMPTIVE, strike! Let me tell you we filled the first episode. Killed by John and Myron Nixon already. I mean Jeez I. Give One option out of like six years of doing this were opt. He'll so funny though six years ago, I did this and I was talking about doing mustard on my ribs back in the day, doing it back in the day and people look at me like I'm insane. Now I go on like website and stuff and everybody like doing almost like a pre wet rubbed with mustard on mytalk. Jeez so I'm hoping it's five six years. Someone wants a boil ribs. I got dude I just got killed. I got killed last week onset all right, so let me let me just do this. I have to ask this question. Because obviously I'm representing the fanatical barbecue fan base, and especially, since most of that fan base was fans of how the format was season one, but the question. Obviously everybody wants to know. Is You go ahead? You do that segment on the today show over Memorial Day, and you mentioned obviously about the bowling the ribs You know I'm not so much a non believer. Yellow mustard. Maybe some people might have thought you put a lot of yellow mustard on it, but certainly a lot of people as you said using yellow mustard as a rub, adherent the other thing that people seem to take issue is with the fact that you said you could cook Iraq of ribs in forty minutes at like two hundred and twenty five degrees. So I mean you've drawn the ire from some of the The fanatical 's but I mean is it more of a? Lesson learned. You just keep moving doing what you're doing or is some of you like man? You know who the hell are you look what I'm doing? No, no, no APP I am such a huge barbecue fan. You know right off the top I first of all I've never assume barbecue master. You know I'm not entering these contests now I've been a memphis made the last five years in a row, so I was there when Myron actually one I think two thousand seven. I actually judge some some barbecue. I know obviously flavor profiles. tenderness presentation. I know all that I actually did. The Cleveland Barbecue Fest last year judged that with a few other people, so I am familiar with. More of a fan than anything but what happens is with these type of morning shows especially like the today show is you gotta remember. It's going recipes going from me to my PR people who weekend who go go to the today show and they should have their own stylish. She's actually really cool chick. Then she tweets it. Says what we can and can't do then then we have this crazy rehearsal. Where literally I'm not allowed to make my own fire on the today show. They have a fire person that tell that basically lays down law what can and can't do something like indirect direct. Of course I'm always indirect type of guy you do. Remember the the the the segment I. DO I. Did say slow I'm a big fan of, but what happened was what happened got it got lost in translation with a recipe, yes. If you boil your ribs thin. The temperature at the guy said to to ten pointy. would be for that for that amount of time, but it got such translation, and also to remember the the episode Hook was quick shortcuts for making a memorial barbecue so I it's it's almost like I threw that out there just to kind of appease you know and It's so funny. 'CAUSE I didn't think in a million years, because actually boiling ribs is huge west coast thing and there's actually restaurants big actually rib restaurants that do that on the west coast. So you know unfortunately I'm not from the Barbecue Meka's of the world. I'm actually. Unfortunately from Los Angeles. which thank God. I escaped and I moved down to San, but so yeah, so it's totally my bad but you know there are people out there, actually surprisingly enough boiling the ribs. Thank God I just says an option. I personally don't do it, but whatever Kevin Roberts joining us here is going to be the well he he is the host of season to Barbeque pitmasters, so here's my quick take in the factors. Absolutely you are you. I'm good with. Jon. Marcus here okay buddy. Jo, John, and Myron or great guys, and you know the judges on the show now, right Warren. And our Smith. So got we. It's actually going to be a pretty kick ass show. It's going to be pretty cool man so even though you got knucklehead Kevin on there. It's still going to be a pretty good show, so here's my take on the boiling ribs is I've always been I've known obviously people that have boiled ribs. Get done quicker My mother-in-law is actually a fairly big believer in parboiling We've been talking in ten years, but that's a different story for different things. But I've always been told. especially by some of the more barbecue elite that when you boil the RIB, you're actually boiling out the fat which to a lot of the barbecue, people means boiling out the flavor, so I can certainly understand where if you're pressed on time or you WanNa. Do it quick, and it sounds like you have friends that are very short on time very short attention span in one beer and food as AFP which I can certainly respect and appreciate but to me. To put in the time and you do the low and slow as you said and it it comes out a nice succulent smokey bone which I'm sure as you said, you've enjoyed it a bunch of different competitions and other events that you've been at. That that's the only way to do it. You get that Nice what that pink smoke ring I guess. You guys call it. I mean that's obviously I mean that's the golden rule of course, but as I mentioned you know my friends get angry at me and that's you know, and and you're absolutely right about that. It does boil renders up. FAB boils up the fat and that's actually a big west coast thing, too. Is You know kind of making a healthier option? I still want my rib, but I want to Kinda healthier version of its and so that's kind of where that kind of technique. Technique came into or why they do it I'm sure on the west coast, obviously slowing low, the longer, the better, obviously obviously, but as I said You know if I get you know ten o'clock. They'll start watching the game my buddies over by noon. The game starts at one. If the food's not out by one I'm getting just hell I mean so like in this kind of quandary of like getting good food out. Quick really so that's why I don't. I don't barbecue for my friends anymore. I think probably where the biggest. The biggest downfall is. The fact that if Kevin Roberts would've came on, is the food guy doing some quick munchies? And that's it I don't think any of this even becomes an issue and the unfortunate fact, while not unfortunate for you, because you're the host, but unfortunately you're introduced as host of Barbecue pitmasters. You turn around and. And do a barbecue segment more or less, and then all these people that are fanatical about it, CNN or like Oh my God, we can't believe what does this guy hosting? BUBBA, but.

"Do you look at the court, the supreme court and think, yeah, we have a chance of getting rid of Roe v. Wade, you, do you think that that's too much help for? I'm very skeptical. I would love to see a Goto eventually, we'll go to court and I think the state Alabama and other states are basically issue, which is good needs to go there. I'm skeptical that a gore such cavenaugh court a Gorsuch, Kevin Roberts court would overturn Roe v. Wade, but who knows. I mean, I would put the by if I were just randomly arbitrary they come up with the percentage, I would say, maybe there's a twenty percent chance that they would come back overturning it. But twenty percent is better than nothing. So I would I would love to see it go there and then just pray for the best result. And do you think, you know, one of the things that I can't help but notice, I've never seen at least not recently, maybe I shouldn't say this. I know that they're mad men of broken into abortion clinics with guns on things like that. But on the whole, I feel, there's this credible violence and hostility from the pro-abortion forces a shout people down. They tear up your posters. They. Turn over your tables on college campuses. What do you think accounts for that? Yeah. I think you're right. Go back decades. I think the more kind of militant. Approach with a little more calm. Hardly ever see it almost never happened. But it, it happens a lot more of the pro-abortion. I think it comes from the fact that they don't really have. That's all they got. They don't have arguments on your side. But you're determined to stick with your position, and you're not willing to do what you said. Argument. A lot of people aren't willing to ever say, never even considered lost an argument. And so when you're not willing to lose the argument, but you don't have any arguments event then all you've got his name calling, and just lashing out with a toddler violently. And so, I think they do it because that's, that's all they've got not thanks very much Matt Walsh on the Matt wall show if you haven't heard it, tune in it is really worth hearing, thanks a lot. Man. I just have the the different psychology of I found if somebody said, hey, I'm your fan. That would really flatter me. I thought he would get it. But that would really flatter me. His couch axe real life wrestling coach at Oregon state when he became an all American and he got to participate as well came out as his manager. I thought he did good listen in for a penny in for pound. Okay. We're going to we are wrestling marks. We both grew up watching wrestling going to whatever show, we could watching whatever show, we could you can't come out and talk to talk to chill for an hour. You cannot do it. Okay. So so Kevin Roberts. Love the guy. Great guy. He comes out six sits next to chill and watches four four the matches with us. And I'm like, this is not good. You're you're you're part of the show. You cannot bring me back. If bring me backstage bring me backstage, if you're going to do that. So I I wanted to I wanted to punch him you thought he should cave more. Yeah. I wanted to punch him on what he was ruining. He was ruining the show for me by sitting next to you talking about the show. And I was like dude you're in the show. In the show is not in the crowd. So I didn't like that. I like so there was a chick and she was hot even know her name rebel Cal Smoak show. She had an inner gender match and in I listen to you. You got me hooked on cornet. So that's so I'll listen to his his podcast, and and he he buries the gimmicks in the inner genders, I thought I was going to hate it. I thought it was a good match. I thought they had three or four solid matches. And the main event was great. I liked how they worked the crowd. The best part of the show. Was there was this big, you know, and he watches us show. We're two hours into into the show, and he should be losing steam, but they come over and do a do a bit by you. And I thought thera- would get scared. I mean, those are some big dudes he would just into it. He was just like then he really got into it like watching the show and seeing what was going on. So that was that was. My favorite point. And man, you can't beat that for for Sunday. Would you pay forty five bucks for three tickets? Yeah. I mean, that's crazy. And I thought they did a great job. I thought it would whenever that comes again. I'm gonna take lad because it was good entertainment. Let me do a quick topic change on you because I'm looking at the calendar right now, realizing what is upcoming of the fights that are upcoming. I think my favorite battle scheduled right now is could be been Connor versus the Nevada State Athletic commission. Do you have a prediction on how that goes six months? Okay. So fines six months in some fines. Okay. Get these guys out. Let them get back to work. I understand. That's what you want to happen. Or I think that's what you're saying. I'm asking you to give me a prediction on what is going to happen. I would I would say six months. I mean clock. Started clock started when three to two months ago, you got your biggest players in the game. That bring a lot of money Las Vegas. You've got a company that is a billion dollar company sitting in the middle of Las Vegas. Come on. Man. I mean as jacked up in in stupid as those commissions. Are somebody's going to say, yeah, let's find these guys. And that's let's let's get them to the dance. Okay. We'll hold on you. You said a few things there. And I don't know that I would disagree with you. But something has to give k if they're not gonna give time in the form of suspension. I think you're right. I think you make a very fair point that in many ways Nevada shooting themselves in the foot by keeping those guys out. I think that's fair..

"No one to ninety percent women say the advertising understand them. I know your goal is a fifty fifty gender balance in the field of advertising in you've said anytime there's just one woman, one Hispanic one African American in a role where there hasn't been a person like that before means that that person becomes symbolic and Representative of the many. And if the ratio is improved, that no one person is the female voice or the black boys or the Latina voice or the gay voice. Everyone can be free to agree or disagree in everyone has influence how do you think that is going to change if. All based on the current election? Well, I'm asleep utterly devastated at the election results, and I think we are rapidly going backwards and that's already very, very visible and sue. You know, those of us don't want to see a very different world have to work all the heart and fight all the more to make it happen. I am exhausted with a slow rate of change in my industry advertising, and so I have spoken for the last five years at the three percent conference cat Gordon's conference, which is cool if he sent commerce because of precisely what I just said. Only three percent of advertising agency, Craigslist, female. And I've spoken that over the years about the issue of gender inequality. I've spoken about ways in which we can make the industry more diverse. And by the way I emphasize everything I say about gender diversity applies equally to diversity of race, ethnicity, sexuality disability in age. And this year I just spoke a few weeks ago at the v three percent conference. Let's the audience I am completely fed up. With a slave to change. I've just headed up to here. And so what I'm going to say to you now is women people have kind of an industry if you're working somewhere that does not welcome what uniquely bring to the table that does not celebrate champion value in ward, your unique creativity, skills and talents. If you're someone that does not allow you to innovate in destroying the way they want to get the fuck out. I said, I want you to be the future advertising and start your own agency. And here is now you're ten point action panel. Exactly how to do that. Let's talk about social media and the need to change. You've been incredibly vocal on Twitter and Facebook and have stated social media is simply a new methodology that allows women to do what we've been doing since the dawn of time, which is sharing the shit out of everything in a way that men don't. And earlier this year you were incensed when former saatchi-and-saatchi chairman, Kevin Roberts declared in a business insider interview that the gender debate in the ad industry. He was fucking over and you mobilized your audience to respond and in many ways, this is why Kevin Roberts is now the former chairman of Saatchi, Cindy. I cannot honestly believe that Kevin said that in the first place, what was he thinking? Just so your audience is aware of the sequence of events. Interestingly, I wasn't incense to begin with because what happened was it was Friday morning, a Iran in business insider Email and said, leaves us interviewed, Kevin robots the chairman of such and such worldwide. And he said this about you and she pulled out purely his quote about me, which you may recall was long the lines little, you know, Loris on this Email. Awesome. About diversity and, and the fact that you talk about any went Cindy outs, making it on up, you know, she's doing it to promote yourself. You know she's got problems row making. So it's just this one. She did not share the whole interview with me. So I didn't know what else eat said that point. And honestly thought, well called sake. And she said, before we publish interview, we still only fair to give you a chance to. Respond..

That number is close, then you know this, probably going to be a close election unless something major had happened in the election it's one the other way at at a particular time. So in that election you knew or we we knew you. Probably knew to that Crenshaw had been building momentum through the course of the campaign and, the momentum had swung his direction the last couple of weeks you could see, it feel it you could see based on some. Of the things, campaigns we're doing So when the early. Return came out I think it was sixty three Crenshaw thirty-seven Roberts Which meant that if Crenshaw had, done better Few weeks earlier. Before he had all the momentum considering it he's momentum had grown through election day It was probably going to be a win for him and to his credit Kevin Roberts rather than doing what some candidates would do what our gore would do and studying all night long, and waiting to call and concede he called and conceited within five minutes of those. Returns coming out which is a very Noble gesture wish more tenants would would be so, honorable so last night What. You typically do On election night if if you, want to, be respectable is? Respectful is you wait To come out to your followers, until your, opponent causing concedes But Democrats are the worst and and Al Gore really opened a floodgate of this type of behavior Of not calling to concede, now if you call in concede and enough boxes come in because you've cheated and you still win The fact that you can see today is not an unknown, you gave up. Oh it's over you said it was over, it's over because it didn't affect anything votes are still coming, in but it does it is how, you're perceived by, the public and and if, there is an inner core of, of respectability if you have respect for the country the. Same way that if you're an athlete you have respect. For, the game you go and shake the gas hand dinner the game it's just what you do And What we saw last night Was They were not going to give. In so the, the the particular candidates that that were Trump Candidates finally just said I I. I'm claiming victory I'm claiming victory now. You're talking about, we're talking about Ohio's twelfth congressional district There was almost, seven and a half million dollar spent For a term that will last about three. Months same candidates are going to face off in November So you had I don't know how this name is pronounced Pat Tiberi resigned to take up a. An executive post with a business group in Ohio And Democrats wanted Danny O'Connor and and, I see why they did, it they wanna be able. To push this, Blue Wave Blue Wave the Democrats are Blue Wave because a lot of people if you just hype 'em they'll go along with it So this was the bellwether race we can we gotta, have this is the first, phase of our Blue Wave John fund rights. Ohio's twelfth congressional district is a mix of suburban and rural areas that resembles. Many of the forty two districts the GOP must defend, without the advantage of having an incumbent, in the race if Republicans win a clear majority of those open seats they keep. The house if they don't there will be a democrat. Speaker elected for the first time since two thousand nine the twelfth district leans Republican and has elected a House. Republican has elected a GOP house member since. John casick now. Governor I won it back in nineteen eighty two Trump. Won the seat by eleven points in two thousand sixteen, even though casick had trounced him every, county in the primary earlier that year Troy Balderstone is counting on the fact that. Both Trump and casick have endorsed him O'Connor tried to. Run as a centrist initially saying he wouldn't support Pelosi. For house speaker and then flip-flopping a few days ago Boss Balderstone. Managed to defeat O'Connor by one thousand seven hundred fifty four votes are point nine percent now they'll face off again in November So it was I'm not going to say it was a pure victory but I will say it. Was a largely symbolic victory in the sense that this election will occur. Again in a few. Months with. The same candidates facing off again so Okay the Republican one is at a massive win for Republicans I guess. Symbolically But that means if you concede that that means you've bought into, this hype, if you flip a coin five times and. It comes up heads sixth time still a fifty fifty chances coming up heads but if that Cohen was political races and, CNN, or FOX, or MSNBC got. Hold of the Jaffna Jefford momentum. For heads hedge definite momentum, definite momentum, momentum especially if heads was the Democrats if heads, was the Republicans you know most people think heads is really had its run and it looks like the Democrats Democrats. Are back to in a race that they've. Lost five times in a row Democrats are back to a fifty fifty chance Democrats are. On this, there on, what it has been done before I went. To? Bed last article I read? Democrats are. On. The March on the March what what did they some. Army all right Lots to get to Ramon Ramon you know what happens do you know. How nurses, learn to,.

"I would say in general though the republicans are in pretty good shape yeah yeah it's interesting one of the really surprising story sort of i thought she was a terrible candidate was kathleen wall trying to make ted post position and i found her you know team after staying six million dollars which is a record for any spin on that seat of her personal money in a primary wow i was gonna shot shaq and endorsed by the way by ted pro as well i was shocked by that resolve your thoughts i was somewhat surprised at that too because she did tire self pretty closely to president trump and she had what i thought were entertaining ads if that's the way to put it with her being you know a gun enthusiast and that kind of thing i thought i thought that was frankly those provided as much entertainment as anything else during the entire political season and that she the runoff was surprising to me yeah there goes and and i i don't know whether that's because republicans more often vote for men or because kevin roberts had some name recognition and and the other guy who made us the runoff i think he's a former navy seal i'm not exactly sure you know what their name recognition was.
