So the that law enforcement knows the areas that these are happening at They can they recover them of later on they can get them back to the people that kind of stuff sixty percent of people already do. And can we're comparing us to nazis saying that this is the beginning of a gun registration. Well sixty percent of them are already doing it of their own. Erica Mahoney, news director for a radio station in Pacific Grove, California, confirmed her father, Kevin Mahoney, was one of the victims and said she is heartbroken in a Twitter post. Mahoney says she's thankful her 61 year old dad could walk her down the aisle last summer on her wedding day. She also revealed her dad would have been a grandfather soon as she is expecting a baby girl later this year. Honey also thank the police in her hometown of Boulder for the kindness they have shown in dealing with a terrible tragedy. "As you watched that unfold while unfortunately having lost a deputy in the line of duty here in weld county and Going through that first hand. I can tell you that My memory automatically goes back to the loss of deputy brownlee and and that same issue probably crops up for for any law enforcement agency. That's lost an officer. So you think about your own that you've lost and then you think about the pain that agencies going through and knowing that they can't take a break They can't just walk away and take a week off and and try to recoup and get your mind straight they still have a job to do That's probably one of the toughest things to to turn your ear employs around. Turn your deputies around your officers around and say okay. We lost one but We still have a job to do and expect for that level of professionalism to still be there and and you know everybody's still function as if they're a well oiled machine that's That's an extraordinarily difficult thing to do and having having had to have gone through that in the past You know i. I obviously I feel for the for the folks over in boulder and especially at that police department These are extremely tough times for those guys right. Now do events like this Does it ever make you have the thought crossed your mind. Maybe it's time to lay down the badge you know. I think there's always points in our career where we say is it worth it But no one gets into this job or no decent cop gets into this job without you know the the intestinal fortitude to say this is only gonna make me come back harder stronger and better You know there's times every career but i think These are the kind of things while it may scare some off. I think it It brings most of us closer together and and we just we become more determined to make sure that we continue to protect. The citizens of our community can't share. Steve reams joining us.
