"33 cards attempting to qualify, but the further up we start, the better your odds are of being there being staying out of trouble and being there with those last sort of 20 laps from this race really heats up. So mine is driver related. Imagine that, but Steve just brought up about the four consecutive laps and making those as good as fast as you possibly can. Can you describe a little bit to the fans? Exactly what that is like in trimming these cars out to get the most speed and literally having to make adjustments and hang on for those four laps. Honestly, DJ, it's one of the toughest things I think that an Indy car driver does all season long. It's probably the most terrified you're going to be behind the wheel of one of these cars. It's all by yourself on the racetrack, but it is ten miles four laps absolutely flat out. You feel more down force off the car than you have at any point in practice. You've got more power from the engine manufacturers and you're going to have it's the fastest you're ever going to go and you are just hanging onto that thing and depending on the weather conditions, you're really busy in the race car. That track is so long with the weather changing the way it can. You're making adjustments on your roll bars, you're making adjustments to your weight jacket from the north end of the south end. Sometimes you turn upon the turn too, depending on the way the sun's beating on the track or the way the wind's blowing. So you are constantly trying to think through what is next. You know, a little bit of understeer and turn one on one lap, how much weight jacket you put into it. Maybe the bar is going to be more effective. Do you have to come back on that by the time you get down to turn three, you are always thinking, but it happens so fast. It's tough to stay on top of it. The big thing for these drivers is going to be staying ahead of the balance. You've got to have all these tools, but you've got to make those adjustments before you need to make them. You've got to feel what's coming, predict it. Those are the drivers that are going to be starting, I think, in the top two top three rows. All right, hands, let's drill down into it. You and Kevin Lee had 8 hours in the booth yesterday. Hopefully you got a snack at some point. So who impressed you in day one of practice for the 500? I mean, honestly, there were a couple of drivers. What I'm looking for when we start running group running like we saw that first day. I'm not looking for the car running up front, maybe the car running second passing for that front spot. I'm looking at number four, number 5 in the line. That's where the dirty air really starts getting to be a challenge. That's where the down force is down. It's tough to make those passes. So I'm looking for the cars that are running really close, three, four, 5 cars down in line. I gotta say willpower looks strong. I wonder what why would you resurrect your nemesis? I'm interested. That description once placed this because at first I thought, oh, contemporary fantasy public urban fantasy, but then it becomes an enemies to lovers, slash zombie story? Does Chinese folklore have zombies? I mean. You guys have like a very extensive ghost culture. A lot of ghosts and we have chunks, which is colloquially Chinese vampires, which I think count as zombies as well. I'm not sure. This sounds like a lot of fun mixing Chinese mythology with rom com tropes? Yeah, I wonder how, I mean, the fact that he's dead and she's alive, how is that going to work? Why in dancing is interesting because it's one of the most recognizable aspects of lunar new year and Chinese culture and also one of the least understood because I'm pretty sure 99% of the people who watch the line dancing, don't even know they're lions that are dancing. I mean, it always looks really hard whenever I see a lion dance performances. And I'm like, how young do you have to start to get all of that skill yeah, I mean, you have to be able to jump around, climb on each other's backs. It's just as rigorous as comparatively. You know? Yeah. I can see that, yeah. Yeah. All right. Next up is another graphic novel. Union Square kids has acquired at auction, the graphic novel alterations. By animated feature story artist Raymond shoe. For fans of gene luen Yang's American born Chinese ants that Lana schmuck's awkward. This coming of age story features middle schooler Kevin Lee, who feels invisible in two different cultures. Publication is slated for spring 2023. Alterations, that's an interesting title because it could mean like, okay, does Kevin's parents work in alterations or is alterations about altering his identity to fit into a certain mold to be accepted in school? Yeah, it doesn't seem like there's any details on what it could mean. I'm alterations it's also word that has many meanings and can have a lot of nuance, which a lot of these books about dual identities. Involved. So yeah, congratulations to Raymond on his book deal, excited for more middle grade graphic novels. All right, next up, Kendall wick has acquired in a multiple offer situation world rights to Ava Lynn by Vicki fang, former Google product designer and author of the laila and the bots and the friend bots series. The illustrated chapter book graphic novel hybrid series features an optimistic and creative 6 year old Chinese American girl with a knack for getting into and out of trouble. Publication is set for spring 2024, fall 2024 and spring 2025. This kind of reminds me of Jimmy neutron because it's like about a kid who's building inventions and yeah, but better because it's about an Asian American girl. Yeah. All right, in a two book deal torquing has acquired an exclusive in an exclusive submission, Kristen Simmons find him where you left him dead. Pitched as Jumanji meets I know what you did last summer. In a Japanese folklore inspired underworld that follows forest ranged friends who after being summoned by the ghost of a friend they left for dead, must return to the deadly game they started or lose him and their lives forever. Publication is planned for spring 2023. I love this complex setup. It's so it's so like high concept genre slash kind of anime. Yeah. There's something about the concept of Jumanji, where it's like they played games as a kid and now they have to come back as adults to finish the game. It's like, it's a trope, but it fits so well with the thriller genre, and you have Japanese folklore, tied to it. So I think that's pretty exciting as well. Yeah. And you know, we all we all love a good death game story. So I only have to wait a whole year to read it. All right, next up, crown has acquired world rights to Francis chaz debut picture book, the goblin twins and an untitled sequel to be illustrated by Jamie Kim. In her first work for children, cha author of if I had your face, draws from the Korean mythology of Tokyo to bring to life two magical good natured goblin tricksters who set out on an unexpected Halloween adventure in New York City. The actor from the train to Poussin and also most recently the most recently squid games. I have never watched the goblin drama series. I'm very terrible with Korean dramas. I'm a traitor to my kind. But I love the fact that she's bringing in Tokyo because I feel like we don't really see that in a lot of children's literature and I feel like Korean goblins are very different from goblins of other cultures, even Asian cultures. Yeah, I mean, they're not like they're not like oni, they're like ogres or anything, they're like more trickster maybe so much like leprechauns or I don't know. I don't know, but they do have like a magical club that pretty much is like a witch's function. You know, they can churn things into different objects and yeah, they have like a horn, like a unicorn horn and in the middle of their forehead. So they're like low keys. They're just low keys. Yeah, yeah, I kind of always cool to see new mythologies enter the world of, I guess a western language here, not that we need western leaders here to validate our mythologies, but it's always cool.

"You have see is back vegas thirty five. I'd like this card. I really liked this main events. Big one at one hundred and forty five pounds in my opinion. One of the more underrated divisions in the sport right now especially in the ufc hundred forty five pounds we got edson barboza versus gig. Chicago's as so we'll begin with you. Thoughts on the matchup compared to last week's made event between canada and gasoline is. This is this day in terms of your excitement levels like one. Middleweight is garbage division. So even the best middleweight fight is not going to be as good as like a mid level. Featherweight fight realistically I will the best one. His upcoming title fight. That'll be really great But other than that. I mean the middle aged whatever featherweights dope like you said i think it is an underrated division right now which is insane to me because it's so obviously like the third or maybe fourth best in the sport like it's top to bottom unbelievable And this fight. His is awesome. Like it's been edson. Barboza is actually a good fighter. Here's a major difference. Kelvin gasoline his fatah. Who's people and he's beaten none of them unless they were always first exit or boza is also for a who's who look at his run man. I think you can put his just the names on his resume win or loss. You can put it up against anybody's run in the sport. That man has fought everybody. Tony i and anthony pettis habibur met up just engaging all felt like everybody oh forever and now he's dropped a forty five and looks also might kinda josie aldo honestly where he had a little bit of a tough adjustment. There as well and so to me key is route test at the right time for a guy like g-go who is a little older than you would normally consider a prospect what he's six and the ufc he's coming off that fight with cub swanson where folded him over in about a minute and it's it's kind of the match that he needs. This is where we figure out is giga a super exciting dude in the middle of this really fun division where everyone from like twelve to twenty six is really fun to watch. And it's a whole Good fight than anybody can beat anybody or is he actually a top ten guy that can get into it with some of these other guys. That are a little bit lesser known but super talented like arnold. Alan like mob. Sorry lawyers have like even calvin cater. Who is outside of the title picture but tough as all. Get out and so to me this is. This is the chance to see sort of those those questions get answered for a guy that has looked great thus far in the ufc. But it's going up against his toughest test and a guy that you know short-circuited shame burgos his brain just a couple of months ago. Yeah i think. Spencer the thing that i really like about this fight is there's i'm last week there were some stakes in the main event. There's a lot of steaks here because there's rare times in the sport where you see a guy that's floating ten twelve even as far back as fifteen. Were they have a fight in certain match. Where you're like this guy wins. We get thrown in. There are the top five guy next fight and no one's going to bat an eye like i think whoever wins despite their next fight is not against josh emmett. They're fighting top five fighter like they could be fighting. Calvin care next is very possible. Do you agree with that. Do you think the stakes are that high the winner. This fight could get huge colleague. Jeff got after beating noises because the main event fight and so it will dependent. I mean i think the only little caveat is how it plays out if this is a weird oddly uneventful kind staring contest or two great kick boxers weirdly get into it clinch fight along the cage or somehow turns into a grappling match. Then maybe not but if it's as electric as we think it is and it is kick city as jed wanted to be. I want it to be you want it to be and everybody else wants it to be in. It's derive has the advantage. But if it goes to the ground. Massive advantage for sean brady massive advantage so i like that matchup. You could go back to the lee one. I think i'm fine with that or you could do brady versus santiago abo. There's there's options for him. But i would just. I would just kind of like to see him. Get the winner of kevin.
