Several San Jose Sharks Teammates Don't Want Evander Kane Back on the Team
"Craig, if you can believe that. I feel like that. We've heard that before. Somewhere with Evander Kane surprising I don't know. I guess you know what? When? When he had left to San Jose. I You know, like, okay, so I always kind of wished the best for players. Always do you know if if a guy's got off ice issues or whatever you hope that he can figure it out and You know what I mean and grow from it right? And when he went to San Jose I thought Was good for the same as that he was gone. Um, thank Yeah. But I also thought when you know when he lands there, and Joe Thornton picks him up and brings him to his house. I think, Okay, this is going to be a a new turn for Evander Kane here because he's going to have you know a good mentor there with Jumbo and Other good leaders that they had there in San Jose. And I thought, you know what this could be beneficial for. Um, So here's to hoping that You can you can sharpen up. You know, And then here we are. And so, so Kevin Kurtz has been on our show before yesterday was reporting that Players. On San Jose. We're talking about How they don't want him back. Says the team was trying to trade Kane earlier this summer, a source says, confirming a report from the daily face off. "Of programming languages. Which is a compendium of acm lectures about computer programming. History i seem to reference it. Every time i talked about programming language. History so each chapter is a transcript of talk plus some extra material that was presented by someone involved with the language chapters about so for instance. They have this chapter on basic that was presented by thomas kurtz who was one of the original developers of basic so that's not one hundred percents of primary sources say was presented a lot after basic was actually developed but it was written by someone who was there so it's a really really good source to get an idea of the development of the language and the mindset that they were in when they wrote it if the internet archive doesn't have a scan of the book you want which sometimes they don't it's kind of a hit or miss with more esoteric text that i'm always looking for then. My second option is always more dubious. Quasi-legal means you can fill in the blanks for that. Third on list is actually spending money to acquire books. I have a big bookshelf in my office. Full of out of print and art defined texts that are from the history of computing. Ebays an easy option. You can oftentimes find relatively cheap books. No one really cares about a lot of the texts that i care about once again. The history of the basic programming language is a great example. There's this book called back to basic there was written by. Kevin kurtz the co developers of language and. I think it was able to find a copy of that on ebay for like five dollars. It's been out of print since the seventies. Incidentally that's where a good deal of patriotic. Money goes so if you support the show thank you. I have a bookshelf folder. Support but going beyond books. There are academics journal papers which are really hard to get a hold of depending on the journal attend you have to pay either subscription or you have to buy articles per page which is awful. And i hate it. There have been articles from like nine thousand nine hundred thirty. That are still behind a paywall for some. I don't understand reason. It's stupid. And i really dislike that also a great example of why. I don't like formal academe here but there are options around that jay store as evil of a company as they are allows you one hundred free articles a month. I think so. I haven't account there. That i don't pay for because i will never give jay store ascent of my money. You can look up more about jason if you want their evil. Don't want to dwell on. This is a happy episode. Another resource for finding academic journals. If you have the do i number of which is like the dewey. Decimal number for articles is scwhab. Do it's once again a dubiously legal source but they have a whole lot of academic journal scans online once again. Cav like the internet archive. It can be hit or miss. But i found like eighty or ninety percent of the time. I can find a apron copy of an article. I'm looking for on their now. Getting more esoteric and getting to. What is one of my favorite resources whenever you're dealing with something. That was done a government agency. So not strictly everything government funded because sometimes tax dollars. Go to places that don't have the same record keeping caveats but usually if something's part of dod project especially you can find government archives that have that information. That's one of the things that i think is exceptional about. America is the transparency of some government..
