"Have a trade to break down cam reddish to the Knicks, nice deal for New York, we're going to break down what's going on there. What were the hawks thinking? Well, try to piece that together. Plus, we have another trade that was voided. We've got more news on Ben Simmons and the 76ers. Still being difficult, but let's start with the trade that looks like it's actually going to happen here. Cam reddish to the Knicks. Keith, what's this one going to look like? Yeah, so cam reddish heads to the Knicks along with Solomon hill. The Knicks will give up Kevin Knox and a first round pick. The Knicks will also acquire a second round pick. It sounds like from the hawks. Sometimes those details will tweak and change before a deal is made official. It's usually the players are pretty set that pick the main picks will be there, but it sounds like the pick the hawks will get from the Knicks. It's a bonus pick from New York. It's actually going to be Charlotte's first round pick that comes with some protections. It's got four years of protections on it. It's protected 19 to 30 this year. So we'll see if that conveys or not. 17 to 30 next year. And then 15 to 30 in 2024 in 2025 or more commonly known lottery protected. Then if it doesn't convey in 2025, it turns into second rounders in 2026 and 2027. That's not that that's a bonus pick for the next because the Knicks have all their own first round picks. The mix also own a future first coming from the Mavericks that is top ten protected, early so they can get that as 2023. That's top ten protected for three years through 2025. And then like they generally do turns into just a single second around pick because at the time that was from the Chris stop sports industry, you couldn't go out further than that one year. So anyway, the Knicks are given up a pick that was an extra pick for them. And then not to be disrespectful to the player, but Kevin Knox is not great. So that's just more of here's how we made salary work. That's the same for Solomon hill coming in on the next side. That's a salary thing. He will be likely waived. I'm guessing by New York when they come in, they will have to waive Ryan RTD akana from his ten day contract early to complete this trade. But hill is out for the season with an injury. Last season was an incredibly fun season if you're a Knicks fan. If you're next to me and you should not care that I'm skeptical of Julius Randle, but they do performance. You should just enjoy the fact that that was an incredibly fun season, but I mean the Nick sometimes it was like Kevin Knox was it for a little bit and was it for a little bit and it was like they or it feels like they're so quick to a point kind of savior sometimes and sometimes the people fall out of but they also have really fun guys. Like a manual quickly is awesome, and maybe should be even more popular nationally. But okay, so let me jump in. A manual quickly. He's on my overrated list. What makes you think that he's so excellent? I think it's more so than I think he's so fun. I'm not saying that he can't improve as a player. I also think that it's like it's funny that he is like stuck soap behind so many backcourt players that I don't know, maybe if he was in a place that was trying to develop him a little bit more. He would be a little bit different story. I just really like watching him play. I think he's a fun player. It's like, in answering this question, it's really hard not to call out. Exactly. Media members and stuff. I'm not gonna do that at all. I just sometimes see stuff about him where I'm like, I imagine a manual quickly playing and I know how this industry works, so I'm not like I'm not naive to it or anything, but if a manual quickly was on the New Orleans pelicans or on the spurs or the magic or whoever, it's like, no one would be writing or talking about manual quickly. No one's no one's giving the next something of value just to get Kevin Knox. He's become what Dennis Smith was last year. Yeah. Just a guy. Like with a little bit of potential. So here's why their sellers, Chris, I look at this Nick's roster and I say, what are they building and who are they building around and where are they in two to three years? Because two to three years from now, Derek rose is 35 36. So are you do you really like is Derek rose a permanent product 'cause Derek rose would look really good as some as a 6th man on a team that's gonna make some playoff noise, right? Like Derrick Rose has value elsewhere more so than he has for the next right now, I think. Mitchell Robinson of some somebody needed a backup center might give you something for him. Kemba Walker is not even playing for the Knicks. He's on a $8.8 million contract that goes to 9 one next year and that's it. It's a two year deal. Easy for another team to incorporate. If you're not going to use Kemba Walker, I hate to say it because it was this wonderful homecoming, but it's not working out. So this is why I say there's sellers because I don't think there's any combination of these guys that's getting you the player that's going to put you back over the top and put you right on track this season. Yeah, I would also say there's a potential here that Knox's agent was a little like, hey, trade from a guy. That could be true to life somewhere else too. So yeah. But yeah, I mean, that would be one where the Knicks and Knox's camp would be likely working together to let's move on. What's gonna be interesting to see whether or not they coexist together on the floor together. Not doing anything. Mentally that is trying to negatively impact each other. They wanna get the best out of each other. But it's the way that players play with one another and how they gel and what and how the four spacing happens on the basketball court and people have to remember that jewish rental had that great year last year mitch robinson was not playing. Yeah and now. Mitchell robinson's gonna come back and it looks like it. Sounds like he's gonna be starting at center and you'll probably only play about twenty five to twenty seven minutes. If that much and taj gibson will come out there and maybe it's a better flow but he's he's going to be out there with the second group of guys not with the first group of guys the other guy that we haven't really talked much about and i don't know what he was. That nerlens noel. No he's not gonna play what he's hurt right now. So but as kevin knox yeah well whether or not kevin knox total boston's never gonna see the floor. I mean come on we. We know that already. I mean he's never gonna play actually think he's going to have an opportunity to play this year. Well i think you got to older point guards right now with derrick rose and with kemba walker. I you know you don't know how much they're gonna play. You don't know whether they're going to have an extended injury or something. I you know. Derek was great last year. It was a a rebirth for him in a different role and really became an incredible leader especially through the end of the season and remember. They had to come home and they had a win. Those three games to get the four seed and they won all those games. Derek was front and center for all of that and he was a big reason why they won those games. But you know they ask those guys to kind of recreate all of that stuff again. I think we're asking a lot especially at the advanced ages at there. But that's why he went out and you you're supplemented infre- agency in two guys that you really hope connected to this team. Offensively in kemba walker and heaven -fornia and you really hope that some of the younger guys drafted developed. Yeah bringing back the same exact team to do. The same. exact thing wouldn't have been the right thing to do when they didn't do it know but that's what i'm talking about quickly. That's why you know. Kevin knox is on the list are j barrett mitchell robinson. Maybe this kid mcbride out of west. Virginia i don't know about you know sims from texas whether or not they're going to think that he's going to add anything to this team. I just is a lot of younger guys on this team.
