"Hi Marcin racer back to get back to the baseball conversation Kevin Kincaid sets the record straight with the union I think the Phillies in the union the ten years will be on equal or close footing as they continue to lose fans baseball that is quickly with them so Joe Girardi there is this letter jacket help me out here if if I'm missing things here but there's this letter that a judge in New York may on seal that reveres reveals specifics about a cheating scandal that happened back in like two thousand seventeen yeah all right M. A. some reading for judge ilio here on NJ dot com the recent crackdown on electronic devices used to steal signs is that victims in Houston Boston and in New York where former Yankees outfielder Carlos Beltran was a ringleader for activities that got him ousted for managing the Mets Julia says keep an eye out for the letter names and if the Phillies are Yankees quickly try to brush away blame from Girardi for team trained transgression years in the past I'd say Jordy what's his current gig comes into question but the mob mentality of an eye for an eye discipline in baseball something that looms out here at bare minimum charge application will take a hit in a statement we'll be on the horizon to explain what really happened during those younger years in question in New York so based on what I've read there is there's a there's a video room I guess that's closer to dug out and in the video room they were looking for signs and then not in real time like the Astros were they were banging on trash cans but they were a learning players to Hey this the sequence they're using armed when runners on second base so if they can keep using this this is what it means and if they continue to use the same signs that's when what would they do check whistle they would alert the batter more or less yeah what do you do when you're at second base to use their hands open this call like all that kind of stuff so like it's it's easy to do but the whistling stuff is where it gets a little bit kind of astrophysics yeah can you hear the whistle and say why is that why they want to keep whistling but yeah I mean it's so it's similar in that respect to the Houston Astros now to this letter the letter come out jacks will be the letter was going to come out today I haven't seen anything on which actually to have details I mean I did I just assume everybody does it write the answers are just seem like it was better than everybody else but that doesn't surprise me that you're already with the Yankees was doing it though not all well me listen to build train is there and he obviously is being painted as the ringleader of this thing is it that far fetched as big this he was doing their jobs there yeah and the red Sox for using apple watches and they were getting I guess they they were getting they were they were getting information and then the trainer or one of the trainer guys was getting on the on his watch and he was alerting players in the dugout so I mean and that's a two teams of two thousand seventeen the got busted right you know remember Mick bill Mayer however many years ago was looking with binoculars they yeah this stuff's been going on forever apparently the Phillies were involved in this too in twenty seventeen but like okay I'll tell you how many wins in their final reason they're not there was a lawyer for gate right yes my name is forget what Hoskins came up and had like thirteen home runs and he gonna ridiculous there never was that high in has been on a tear since heavy it but we believe it or not if not so the opposite direction so if it comes out that that the date that whatever comes out that's unsealed that the Yankees did exactly what they're being accused of doing and Joe Girardi is known to have been a part of it which he's the manager he I mean he has to know something's going on right it's easy to sell I don't know it yet on he's complicit to it we do we even care here in Philadelphia me neither do even blink at it I mean just three blank and we know the morning show's gonna talk about a big that comes out but I don't think anybody will be calling for Joe Girardi to be fired here now no it didn't happen here under is yeah watch so but if you listen to be some tough questions he has to answer and would there be people who say well I don't necessarily trust him as much I don't know if that's going to resonate here in Philadelphia so many people are excited Joe Girardi is the manager here I don't think people are going to be like us how can we have this guy be our manager and he did that I don't think that we will find a way to minimize it why it's I I'm curious to how he handles it right right well that'll that'll determine a lot right there how he handles it does he come out and say like Hey listen this was a part of the game this was a part of what we were doing I mean did that video the came out Jack we play even played on the show it was a from MLB network here he more or less admitted to it you know the problem was you know the context was a kind of dumb to the middle of it was weird he could easily can talk about how they relate signs out in the field so we don't know exactly what he thought what he was talking about in that video but yeah it's a little shady all right well that I mean this could happen today could happen while we're on the air with this this letter comes out that has released all the information that's involved with everything all right so they are twenty question brought you by mark strollers marks jewelers opened for business just in time for father's day and if you were maybe think about getting gauge before all the stuff went down with over nineteen get back at it right now mark seven jewelers dot com.

"Were grown care that it's good for our family it's good for our neighborhood it's good for the whole world thank is it be fair or it can learn more I'm glad we had this talk on the radio when you fall on your smart speaker just see played ninety four W. I. B. if you're not paying out we are Monday night here ninety four W. I. P. appreciate Kevin Kincaid opera board given us some insights on all the sports here in Philadelphia that's what I try and bring and that's where I hope you take me when you hop on my telephone line to get a little on the slow side tonight has been since the coronavirus kicked in I've been doing tonight coach here for a while now so well I know my usual volume of calls have been a little bit off over the last couple months but if you're up listening and I see anything that intrigued you I know a few make you want to question me you can go ahead and do it that's why they yeah put me up here because I'm here to increase you and or rat at least make you think hit me up at two one five five nine two ninety four ninety four the one thing I disagreed with cabin or at least I I tidy under emphasized it is as far as Philly sports news because today the Major League Baseball owners made a proposal that I thought was at least an attempt to bridge the gap between themselves and the players I don't know what the response is going to be the players have already said yeah we'll probably get back to you on Wednesday really with the clock ticking away it is they need forty eight hours to come up with a response to the latest latest proposal by the owners little disappointed by the players but at your age that usually the case whoever made the latest proposal if you think it's a legit one then you give them credit for at least making that effort to move the negotiations along but as far as Philadelphia sports knows news goes it came out over the last twelve hours or so and right right he might have been the one who had it actually first maybe that's why I remember they Joshua Harris the owner of the Philadelphia seventy Sixers is interested in potentially buying the New York Mets now anyone who knows your truly are I've been a fairly safe New York guide before I ever became a Philly guy was in New York and the last thirty years I've been a Philly guy but I'd never one hundred percent cut my ties do you work as a matter of fact in the middle of those thirty years I went back up and worked full time in New York I'm two separate occasions one for five years when he died for a couple of years and I've always kept my hand in the market that I'm not working in when I was a full time Philadelphia guy I still went up and did some weekend shows in New York because I hate it's it's not as hard as you think it's not digging ditches you can stay on top of two markets I have a bunch of connection still up in New York as I can get on for shows and gassed and the like and I I got some good college in New York so I always get my hands in the market even after I left there the same way I did here when I was working full time in New York I was working part time in Philadelphia why because I consider my home and it's where I moved to it it's where I've been for the last twenty nine plus years so I I didn't see the need if someone was willing to give me a platform I'm going to step up and take advantage of it and talk to both one thing I can absolutely say is they're a good percentage of the fan bases in both markets look down their nose whether it's up or down the turnpike at the other fan base eighty some odd miles away New York fans not big fans of Philadelphia teams Philadelphia fans do not appreciate New York teams some of them lend themselves to Sirius competition between the teams in the league E. here in Philadelphia is there a deep dislike for the New York Yankees well yeah I guess so because they're the Yankees because they're the best team of all time and they let you know about it every chance they get at least their fans do the family to me thank you don't play very often so it's not a cut throat relationship competition between the two teams not as as he did arrive reacts to Philly so the Mets could stave actually done battle with division title sitting on the line right up to the last couple days of the season several times over the last couple decades so I get why met fans in Philly fans are going to look down and you can't the Nixon Sixers the Knicks haven't been good enough over the last the ten to twelve to fifteen years to really consider them a rivalry at one time the next sector rivalry was damn good when both the Knicks and Sixers were marquee franchises in the league and they were playing each other and six of fans could get nicked tickets in the garden and Nick Krantz could get ticket tickets in the spectrum yeah it was pretty good rivalry I would say that it is waned of late and there's never really been a Sixers nets rivalry be they in New Jersey or since they moved to Brooklyn even though they've played in the playoffs and might play in the playoffs again this year I would not say that to great rivalry the eagles in the jets is almost nonexistent it's almost friendly because at least from Philadelphia perspective the eagles and a plate of caps once every four years at eagles have dominated the jets over the last couple of decades I don't want to have web development look that up for me how many games in a row of the eagles beat the cats I think it's at least seven or eight I don't think the gaps have beaten the eagles in twenty plus years they do play every year in preseason all and they're scheduled to play again this year the four ten final exhibition game preseason game call it what you want which you know I've already marked did not tear on the air the fact that the NFL came out with its preseason schedule yeah right they're not gonna be played preseason games eleven times zero the eagles have beat the jets eleven in a row there are eleven all time against the jets all time all that gets have never beat them in a regular season nope eight like I said a lopsided rivalry so eagle fans donate cat fans and I'm lucky but active that's the one to your teammates to root for the jets all right so with that you guys don't hold it against me too badly because you can laugh when I mention the gaps that specifically in the match up between those two teams but the eagles and the giants are serious serious serious rivals yes the cowboys are the number one rival the giants probably number two and there have been times over the past ten fifteen twenty thirty forty years where the main rival has been the giants for eagles up and down how boys more often than not but if not the cowboys then it is the giants so that's some serious dislike between those two fan bases and although again in my thirty years here it's never been a major match up when the flyers have been legit contenders the ranger tab on the Rangers have been rejected a plight that it really hasn't played that way but ask any fire fan you want how much they dislike the New York Rangers it won't be hard to get them up off their stool and bad mapping the Broadway blues over the Broad Street bullies that there's there's an ingrained rivalry there add that it's happened over decades so there's this despite between New York teams and followed up the abandoned Philadelphia teams and New York fans Josh Harrison going to try and walk that tightrope and I don't know that he can do it I think that when things don't go well for his team in whichever town beaded sectors here in Philadelphia the Mets in New York one of the little lambasts he's gonna have to face is not really a New Yorker the eighty year old dissected first you went to school down in Pennsylvania the only reason why did New York is because it's the economic capital of the world ease of money guy I guarantee you they're going to say that screwed up Philly owner whose sit in our backyard with our team and the same thing here in Philadelphia when the Sixers don't win people are gonna say Josh Harris made his billions in New York egfr can't you got to buy a new York team he did so they will keep track of how many you make games he showed up to as compared to how many sector game he showed up to or guarantees gonna hear about it this is kind of a risky proposition give purely from a fanbase standpoint now if he's got thick skinny you can take any doesn't care what they say here on W. I. P. run the fan in New York well good for him more power tool but when you start to stab someone whisper in his ear you know why the attendance is in good because they don't like you in this market because you're from that of the market and it'll go both ways that's when it's going to start to dawn on him all is it's actually affecting my bottom line I don't know I know there's been cross ownerships in a couple of different sports but I don't know details ever being cross town ownerships with the teams in those towns in a specific rivalry position Mets Phillies pretty hard Knicks Sixers ones harsh not it's hard these days what could be rekindled that's what Cacheris you're gonna have to deal with that's a fine line he's going to have to deal with I'm looking at it from a family perspective tonight he is the owner of the ticket he may be the owner of the Mets does it bother you would just.

"Kevin Kevin underscore Kincaid. See you throw these underscores in there. I can't even get the introduction. Right because messes everybody up Kevin good evening. John shedder respiration radio. Always a pleasure to chat with you. Appreciate you coming on the national show representing Philadelphia. Let's start with Bryce Harper. If you can put in perspective to everybody out there. A reminder on in Boston were on in Dallas. So you can needle as much as you want. What what is this like what was Thursday like for Philadelphia sport? Not just baseball fans, but sports fans to see Bryce Harper in his debut. I don't know. It's just feel like philidelphia's a better sports town. When the Phillies are good. You know, you could feel kind of what you sell it in two thousand eight and two thousand nine and twenty thousand in twenty eleven when the fills were the talk of the town and the ballpark was filled in and people just. Crazy for baseball. I mean that you saw last year even when the team was in first place for a long time. Like people still weren't completely buying in for whatever reason, you know, they couldn't fill the stadium. Eventually they trailed off this year was completely different. It felt like I was watching that the years of Sally and Ryan Howard and Jimmy Rollins out there. It just felt like a totally different five compared to what we watch her last couple of years. It's amazing. It's like we had that men in black thing where our memories have been erased for four years, and it's just picking up twenty twelve right around there, and you mentioned the electricity. I can't imagine. And I don't know how it's going to be. But I can't imagine that any type of trail off will ever be you any term like that will ever be used with Bryce Harper team now. Yeah. No. It was funny 'cause like on a normal night with the Sixers would go out and beat the tar out of the nets a team that they'd had trouble with over the last two years, if they'll go out and do that that would be the biggest talk of anything. But the Sixers were like probably third on the list today when you had the Phillies home opener Reese this grand slam. The coaching leadoff home run. And then the eagles news, which wasn't like a big super present thing. It wasn't like there was a press conference or anything. But if you drop that into the day's activity is trading at six thirty three hundred for Jordan Howard. I mean, the Sixers were like a distant third today. It's a, but that was still significant as it wasn't just one of those like Danner days where there's still people. I'm actually, you know, like in the coming out of the coming out of the parking lot tonight. Like, he was like an all day affair at the Wells Fargo center for the Sixers game where you at the Phillies game to know. But I mean, it was played was there was not a single person that I saw a walking out when I was rolling row the seventh inning or the eighth inning. Like, it was a full bore like four for four day in in south Philly and the flyers were found a way to stay relevant as well for another game. So we'll give him that to you know. Absolutely. And we should let everybody know you are the co host of the six for six podcast that you could hear on crossing broad. So you'll take a step further. It's not just four for four. I let me ask you mentioned the Hoskins homerun. We're chatting with Kevin Kincaid covers everything. Philadelphia's sports for crossing broad in Philly at Kevin underscore Kincaid on Twitter, when you mentioned the the grand slam for reason, it just looks like because if you look at the headline right national headline ESPN Harper hitless in debut, but fills, you know, you're going to see a lot of this outside of Philadelphia. I'm sure the reality is that I imagine at some point Reese Hoskins gonna keep knocking the cover off the ball. In somebody's going to have to start pitching the Bryce Harper. Right. Well, that's the thing. That's the best thing about the this order because you have guys now Thanh who like, you know, Dougal, Harare and state and is were batting what like one in three last year right now, these guys who are at the top of the order that you're now able to put it the bottom of the order six seven eight trio would that top four on on a bunch of teams. So the fact they and they and they hit very. Well today, they played very well today. So there's no like there's no real weakness in the order. There's nothing that you can really attack, you know. And even if you wanted to shift on on Bryce Harper or something like that you have to guys who are hidden in front of him in insecure and the coaching you're gonna get on base anyway. So then why you shift and he hits one over the right field fence, it's a three run shot. So it's not like, I don't I don't see a lot of weaknesses top to bottom. And that was the problem with this team over the years really had some good hitters, but there's huge drop off. Once he got well last year once he got past threes Hoskins, you know. So that's that's not the case at all this year. Are they good enough? Are they good enough in the rotation and the bullpen to overcome any pitching issues and just slug away? Like, we saw a couple of years, you know, maybe ten years ago, but still that ballpark. You can out slugged teams maybe not for one hundred and sixty two in a playoffs. But you could outslugged teams to get there is that concern you. Have is the pitching. I mean, I guess, but you can always add an arm. You know at the trade deadline and your they've done that in the past. Honestly, the cheap answer the cheap way out is I don't I don't know what area is going to be looked better. I guess in the spring when he's healthy. There's the weird injury that nobody really knew much about last year. I mean, if he's good to go, then that's two four, you know, we'll see what Velazquez ends up doing this year. But it's definitely the weakest part of of the team by far. But I think I think certainly you can probably outs out slugged other teams. I mean, even when the Phillies had cliff Lee and ROY halladay even going back further to Cole hamels and Joe bland and stuff like that. You still had Ryan Howard. And chase end. Everybody else hitting the cover off the baseball too. So you know, those teams are able to do it on both ends. But I think the lineup is good enough. Now that they can I think they can win the division with what they have. But I don't I think they would I would look at maybe adding something halfway through. Yeah. I still see Washington as far as totals. And just kind of hovering right there or above them. Do you think that's accurate? I do too. Yeah. Yeah. Any of the Braves are good team last year. So, you know, the thing your grandmothers and Elliott should be exciting to see what happens. But now, I mean the fills look good today. Arendal have to one inning where like three walks. I think in this game, which is rare. It's rare for him to have three walks in any game at all, you know. But I think I think it'll be fine. We'll see what area it is. Now. We'll we'll take from there. You know, what was the walk up music for Bryce today. I missed that. I don't know. I couldn't hear it. I was watching it at home for like an hour before had to leave to come down at the Sixers. It was not Kashmir or anything like that. I don't I don't know what it was. But he had the did you see he was wearing the Philly fanatic spikes? Yes. I saw that. Due to win to win over the Philly crowd at the port like, they're goofy mascot on the shoes. And he wore a t shirt. Poke fiction, you know. Yeah. And it was like the the fanatic the muppet type characters. Right. Yeah. Yeah. In a gritty was instead of John Travolta and Samuel Jackson, greedy. Greedy was holding a t-shirt gun fanatic was holding a hotdog goner. There's something like that. So it was. Just. It's funny. I've never seen a guy like him acclimated, or or, you know, find his way to the good side of a fan base so quickly, but it seems kinda corny to say he just sorta gets it. You know? I mean, we always make fun about like cliche like Philly blue-collar hard-working hostile kind of town. But I mean like there is some modicum of truth to that. And he he expresses it just as much as anybody. I've ever I've ever seen any big free agent who's ever signed here. You know, who he reminds me of in that regard it, and it just popped in my head as you were laying it out perfectly Mitra Kevin is now his skin. He's not as good of a player as Bryce Harper. But the way in which he's acclimated himself to the city and the way which he's connected with so many fans, Chris long. Yeah. That's very true. I I see that on social I see that you know, right down to his activism to how he was when he was dressing up with the Iverson's jersey. I don't know. That's just the name that kind of popped in my head it sounded like in your response. You weren't really fully on board with that. Well, he he. No. I mean, he he here's the thing. Like, I think this Larry between those two guys is they both chose to be here. You know, what I mean, Chris long was was toward the end of his career when he when he chose to come here. He'd already won the Super Bowl. But I think one of the things that didn't fears the fan base, the price harpers all the things he said about one to about the culture here and wanting to be her longtime wanting to win you it's not like, you know, Joel clubs Philadelphia's much as any, but he was drafted here. You're taking that he didn't choose to come here. And you have a bunch of guys we talk we talk about how parochial and provincial. And how Philly we are. We always want to be all we're still Philly. You know, but yeah, mostly guys who play aren't from here. Obviously, you know, Mike trout is gonna play out the rest of his career in LA. We thought he was coming home. So it's just something about Harper for the things that you said in for him saying, look, I want to be here. I was not traded here. I was not drafted by the time. I want to spend the rest of my career here that resonates with with Philly as I'm sure it would anybody, you know. Yeah. Absolutely. And I think that when you have Philadelphia, it's it's always going to be looked at on a grander scale because we are more active on, social and were more active just at games, we were more, active and. "You gotta get that shot off. That's an instinctual play you have to make. And I don't think Butler said, no. And you're hoping for more from from Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris, you know, because of the way that Embiid and Simmons were playing which is the same way that they always play against Boston. But also for Jimmy to miss this foul shots at the end there. You know? That just seemed like a big sort of coming up swallow, and he's do so good lately again to the foul line. But he was seven. So when you shoot when your team shoots seventy one percent over Ben Simmons is to for seven from the from the foul line Jimmy seven for ten. That's just like not good enough in in in a situation. Where you have a veteran guy who's got the ball in his hands with enough time to get off a shot tonight. Even get it off before the shock for the final buzzer goes it's inexcusable both Simmons both the MB. And but when they bad instinctual plays late night game one other comment. I did get from Kuala. I'll get your take on. It was they thought that in the fourth quarter. Maybe Brett Brown little to slow getting ready off the floor some defensive situations. Now, they didn't exactly get beat up by the other teams guards tonight. Neither rosier nurse smart didn't anything but Radic got posted up a couple of times in the fourth quarter substitution by the coach. I mean, it's JJ December for you on the offense event. It's more of a it's a micro thing. That's more of a macro thing, you know, 'cause JJ's he's such a liability there that you'd probably just have to take them off the court entirely situations. You put them on taking off putting we'll take on. But what happens Jody's there there's a series in the fourth quarter? I want to say it was around like a five hundred that switch with JJ like four times in a row like four straight possessions. The Sixers were throwing a second body at at him, and they see the rotation and they get an open look on the perimeter award. They would just be not good enough denying that passed in the first place. And it's one thing to see this Nassar to see them try to post up JJ down low. But but with Brad said, and what you all said. And what Jimmy said after the game was that if they see that it's not it's not even just about throwing the second defender, helping JJ. I like you're on ball defense has to be denied. I pass you see that they're trying to get it into the JJ when he's got a six foot eight guy when he's trying to guard a six foot. Eight guy then get up in, you know, Terry rose years grill, and and don't let him throw down there. You know? So they were there is that stretch out. Billy Lang get off the bench like four times in a row and just look really, really frustrated. He's he's taking over the defensive duties after Pierce went to Atlanta. So to me more than any anything. I'm glad to car brought that out there the defensive and they still Boston just hunts that switch, and they do it over and over and over and over again. And that's the biggest issue for me at these teams play again in the playoffs, offense and stuff. I think you can figure out but defensively I mean, you have the personnel now that theoretically that shouldn't happen. So I think you gotta think about ninety having JJ on the foreign those instances Kevin gate across the board. Our guest here on the sports Carlton guest line. I ninety four w I pay night. We both agree that Al Horford may be taken up a little space in Joel grey matter. These days inside his head. Can you say the same about the match up between the two coaches? I don't know. I mean, I'm a I like Brett Brown. I like it systems. I like his philosophy. But I think it's you're running out of space. Now, when you say, well, we just got to buy hat Tobias Harris, and it's a new team, and blah, blah, blah, blah. I mean, that's why he went out and got these guys for this like this. This is it. That's why he went out, and maybe changes to that. You have the personnel on the wing depth in it and creating power forward into bias Harris. It's that alleviates he's natural problems. You have with Boston over the years. And that was still an issue tonight. I still think it's more on Benson. And Joel Embiid just to to not be in a funk to grow up situationally and to to show up in these games. I think they just came out. And look tight, you know, I don't know how much of that is only coach I'm not necessarily a believer that it's that's the coach's job. They get a team ready to play because if you're a professional athlete, it's a it's a Sixers in the south, and you wanna be these guys beating them and allow surely you should be able to motivate yourself to do that. Talking about the first half. The Celtics seemed to come out more energized. And certainly on the defensive end, Ed seventy six three. Yeah, they tight they look they looked like the Celtics owned real estate in head. And I'm not one of these sweeping generalization generalization kinda says this guy is exposed and that guy's exposed, and blah, blah, blah, blah, you could you could certainly tell that. The Sixers had are in their own heads if anything with with this Celtics team because think of all the goodwill, you just you just fill it up with the warriors win with the good Denver win. And they were seven and four throughout the first eleven games with his twelve game stretch, they could've ended eating four famish massive. Yeah. Thank wish. The freaking Boston bogeyman and put it back in the closet or under the bed, or wherever the boogeyman comes from, you know, but they they just left open is just such a huge blow an opportunity, and if unfortunately for practicality it's going to have to hear about it. But you know, he's takes responsibility. Just like everybody else. Does any other scary thing? Gordon Hayward, look like the guy from Salt Lake City from back that is jazz, which we haven't seen much in green. Since he got there. And he did look like the guy who is NBA all star level in the Western Conference now for in six or seven from three. And, you know, the irony, of course, didn't mentioned that was with without Kyrie Irving again. Without tiring. I know I know I know 'cause you're sitting there thinking like, well, you know, it's the Sixers going into it. You could have said it was a lose lose. Because if the Sixers won this game, you would have a portion of people who said, well, yeah. Kyri didn't play you know, and you can put that fake asterisk on it or whatever the heck. But now, you can't even do that. Because the Celtics and eight and two this year without Kyrie Irving in the lineup which again, give credit to the guy on their bench. Who I think unfortunately, got the better of the guy on our bench tonight. Kevin stop always applied you by. Appreciate you coming on board. We'll talk again soon. Yeah. Anytime Jody I did read them all the time on crossing board crossing broad Kevin Kincaid. Our buddy happened aboard given us some seventy sixer insight. He was on these Schwartz. "Mike and Bobby to come out and and put our games in and helped his team make a long run this up. This postseason Tobias CBS sports radio everyone talks about the expectations. And what people think this group is capable of accomplishing. You're not a stranger to walk into a new team. Like, you said, how do you build this chemistry quickly with so many offensive pieces of this group can reach what people expect out of them. Yeah. I think it's gonna come down to number one. Just guys figuring out each other on the floor and on the fly. But as I said before I mean, this is a group of a lot of young talent and smart town too. So. Just look it's going to be a challenge. Also, you know, I mean, I just put that out there. I think we have this much firepower. It's got to be a good balance all around so. That'd be the challenge for. But that also is not not a bad challenge to have. And. You know, we just got to come together and build the chemistry fast. And the best way that we can. So whether it be guys maybe turning shot that they may take for the next pass and just having fun. When we when we got there, we have fun. We ran we play defense. We get out in transition. And you know, we are will every single night other teams walkout arena. Like dang team as good as championship team. That's that's what we want them to know every single night Tobias. I'm over here. Kevin Kincaid from crossing broad. Bret runs emotion offense dribble. Handoff staggered D. H O stuff like that one of the big topics. Here recently is trying to get Jimmy worked in is more of a traditional pick and roll guy over the course of his career. If you had a preference of what you wanna do where you're most comfortable. What would you say that is ball movement? Uncomfortable with ball movement. The more ball moves the better my game is suited. I'm comfortable up and down and running. I've been in so many different situations that now I've been very adapted to a lot of them. So when I was in LA who is a lot of D H O dribble. Handoff sent pick and rolls and. I found myself best suited them. The better. The ball moves the more actions. We create playing out of guys running out to you in different areas of space has been been the key thing. So when you talk about you know, what type of offense and what type of? System in places such that just getting down created credit mismatches. Ben guy a pass first point guard. Passwords caller who creates guys to to pull in and try to stop his drive. So that that's obviously going to create some different different plays that kick out to shooters and stuff like that. So just just having that ball move having that flow to the team is key for me. But I've been able to adapt in different situations. And I look forward to seeing with this one presents itself and being being able to play to play with that. Tobias. Jessica verse again for ABC here. You've been traded around a lot you've been on a lot of different teams in your opinion. What is the key to of blending everything together getting that chemistry down because you guys don't really have a lot of time in a sense getting ready for the playoffs, and there's not a lot of practices going forward. So for you. What is really the key? When you get traded when you move around like this, you know for me. It's just a focus on the basketball part. Personally, humane way, you get traded as. Your whole world kinda shifts, but is to move on from the last situation onto the new and be ready to start fresh. That's one thing not related to Beaumont and Mike is Trey let's just focus on who've been in going out and doing our best job of winning. And I think when you come in. I know personally myself every situation been traded to I've came in with a winning attitude and doing the best I can help the team win. And that's been a great deal of me and paid off well for me. So I just love to have that same type attitude in this situation. Just camera basketball insiders Boban I'm wondering what were your impressions of Joel before you became his teammate like a minute ago. And what are your thoughts about playing alongside him? Now. Great. I I followed this team for two years so far he played beat him. I like how he plays hockey like most his body move like. Mojo. He moved out all that stuff. And it's really impressive that. And now, I'm I'm liking the same theme. What what make what make like more like powerful? I think can be amazing amazing to be here. And like, he's young guy. I I need to learn a lot like we can make both. Yup. Each other. No, Lubbock NBC sports. Philadelphia Tobias you've matched up with. And when the Sixers play the clippers what are your impressions of his game? And what he thinks he's going to be like to play with. Teaser. He's a beast in open court. I know when I'm matchup vs. The toughest thing about him is how well he passes. The ball gets guys involved. It's hard to kind of load up to him when he when he's driving. But. I always been a big fan of his game. And how he plays and the way that he plays and his size and his speed and his skill level. So now, I'm excited to get out there with them. Running lanes in the fast break Woodham and just just play so excited. Tobias Martin are due to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Your three point shooting percentage has gone up steadily in your career this year, you're at a career high. What are you attributed as just experience getting used to things working out in the off season? What would you do that? No working at an off season for sure. In the summers. I spent a lotta time getting a lot of reps up gay game shots and confidence to cover is number one. Started. When I was in Detroit. You know, opening up the year and stammered gun. He came to me say this how many shoot more threes. Instead of slashing Manila shoot like six or seven a game. Now, you say you got to be willing to be able to go six for seven four seven. But you also have to be willing to go over seven second guessed the next show. So. Once he gave you that confidence. You know, I just read with it from there. And and then you know to the point where I'm at today. So that was to get the confidence from your coach on that. And I was big for me going forward. And that really helped it up these questions for Mike Mike you from Chesapeake Al-Anon from down the road in Hampton. What would your thoughts as a kid growing up with the seventy Sixers and the Sixers? I was a fan of Harverson did so much for our area some seven area. Grow washing them a lot. I noticed it was like a second home know. So that was a big fan of a. A fan and the Sixers is more of a hometown thing. No disrespect. I'll just I'll just a fan of our absent. Yeah. No, no. It's not Jesus. Kind of cool. No, we both from the same area morphine, that's wooded area. So I just want to come here. Had a Saint passion. He had wing games compete be fiscal be gritty make shots play for championship. Bobin Joe Tanaka from nj dot com. Again. So you spoke a moment ago about Embiid, Rebecca. He spoke a second ago without Embiid, and helping each other get better, I was just curious how you're looking forward to playing against the guy like that practice everyday. Yeah. For sure. Like you getting better because you guys could could compete and you play hard both in. And I think it's really like I feel I feel good about that. Then think it'd be amazing. Questions for Mike Carlin. Fourteen hundred wwl Wendy might you've been deep playoff runs over here. But the Atlanta Hawks I mean is the team that also wants to make that kind of push towards the NBA finals and everything can you draw back from those experiences and teach the younger guys here on this team. Everyone played together played on selfish move playing on the coach bud Spurs system. Brett Brown Spurs system. So's just everyone play hard unselfish. We have four all stars a year. You know, we'll just play from one another guys made a lot of money after the season from that team. No, we just played on selfish on both ends move the ball. We defended we have fun one sixty games. That's what it's like to do. Brian seltzer with the Sixers back here, you maybe could take a crack at this one this team talks a lot about defense. It's defensive identity. What do we do? You think you bring to that side of the floor, and what's your mindset defensively? Versatility on being able to switch specially with the forwards that we have in the size that we have. So. You know, once we get good morning floor. Get accustomed to the system of how we do things here defensively. Me personally, I have more knowledge to how we how we play but to have already Sixers four the league in defensive rating. One of the best at the rim players in the game. Is Embiid to have Beaumont right behind him a number two. So I think that helps the defense a whole lot and just being able to be able to switch and be able to sliding and be versatile out there to do different things and to stop by the teams and things won't be key for us, and we could live with what we want the other teams to shoot and live to play with the rest of that. So it'd be excited with the with the that we have in the size that we have is going to be key. Kennedy gave from crossing brought again Boban I'm over here. When you played in Philly this year, I think that was your season high in minutes. I think he played twenty three minutes in that game. How much do you think you can play? And do you wanna play more than your average? I think is only like ten or eleven minutes game right now. Not this not this not good question. But like, you know, you never know in Yona field. And you're in a court like you're just energy does going. You know, like you never think about like, oh, I just played two minutes. Played three minutes. Five minutes saving. Then, you know. Like, you never I never currently that you know, like, it's my job to go their team to play strongest possible. I can you know, like to use my size to use my deals might be cans and protectorate scored everything there to rebound everything, you know, this is this is this is supposed to be set to good screens and help with team like an announcer figure. I never like looking like how timers ban on the court. It's it's more like shopping team. Good. Good good. Great things. You know, like moment, you feel tired. You know, you never you never figure out. What is the time? But. The IT guy hit by and my games..

"You haven't seen stranger things. And I don't think I'm going to just by listening today. Sounds a little freaky. I don't like this. It's scaring me. I'm gonna tell you some funny. So we were looking for kids screaming eleven because of the eleven game win streak, and apparently on YouTube there are what are called super cots not the the haircut haircut. Okay. You take the whole season, and you cut out little highlights and put it into one long video so online. There are super cots of people yelling in the stranger things show. Seventeen minutes of people yelling other people's names. And right. It turns out that stranger things they yelled a lot of names. Well. All right. A ton of yelling. Okay. So if you want to just laugh for half, a second, you know, check that out. I have two questions about tonight's game for you eight eight three zero five fifty to join us, by the way, the main. No, okay. I haven't gotten over the fact that that Nikita kucherov was not offer. She did. That was not what that's number one. Number two is no I would not be against offer sheeting circuit. Chef is he in our fate to he will be at some point. Okay. I thought like after this year. He was no, that's that's neither. I just assume every question is about offer sheets because I'm ready for dancer, those at all times the first question is, well, it's kind of a two parter because someone tweeted this to me, maybe you got the same tweet. It goes to how many sabre fans will be in the crowd tonight because someone tweeted and said will there be a one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven chant in Tampa tonight. No. I don't think it takes too long to count all the numbers. Is it arrogant? There should be a good number of saber fans that the game that I don't you think? Yes. But not I it's it's almost not an organized chant short notice. Okay. Right. I mean, you didn't know when the sabres were. Oh, six oh, seven is. You lived in the Tampa area or close you got tickets. And maybe you still do. I mean, I don't live in Tampa navy. You wanted to see, Darlene? So maybe you have these tickets. But it just seems like this thing came upon us as of November fourth. So I don't know if the numbers will be crazy good, okay, Florida. I think there's a better chance of it. Because he is closer to the Miami the bills dolphins game. You would have more people plan for that. It's a Friday Sunday, Florida. I think would have more available seats Florida is not good Tampa is good. So that's my guess, my guess is if it's going to happen. It's more likely in the in the Florida game. I'm not on schwa- ESPN dot com because I have the schedule up, and you know, when you go to the schedule it also lists. There's a tickets column, and it says how many tickets are available as low as whatever price if you're wondering tonight's game two hundred forty three. Tickets as low as thirty six dollars tomorrow night in Florida. Just under thirteen hundred tickets as low as twelve bucks. So it would be a lot cheaper. Not surprisingly to see the sabers against Florida than it would be against the lightning. The second question is are you going to be nervous tonight? Okay. Because it gets late in the game. That's what I'm trying to think. Like my my approach to the game tonight. Like, nobody wants to see the losing the winning streak end. Nobody wants to be a loss. Right. But I'm going into tonight and tipping. They will lose for a couple of reasons at least one they didn't look that good against Tampa. When tap was here. Even though they beat them to they're going to lose it some point, obviously. And I was thinking like the last few games. Like when was the last time? I went into the game. Like this gravy like I'm I'm just I'm not expecting a win. But as the game turns out, okay. I think I'd go back to like Minnesota. And Winnipeg Minnesota for sure they beat Winnipeg the night before the that's the last game. I've been nervous for San Jose, Detroit. Montreal Philadelphia even Pittsburgh because I thought Crosby's out they're not playing well you can beat Pittsburgh in this game. So Minnesota is the last time I thought you beat Winnipeg the night before you get down. What goals in the first period? I thought yeah, it's not their night, fellas. I I wasn't worried at all. And then it turns out they come back and win hockey game. So it's been a while. I think tap is like my Minnesota or Winnipeg not expecting it. And the longer the game goes you're tied. You're only one go back whatever like, hey, they could actually pull this off. It could be eleven eleven by the way, there won't be a one eleven Shannon, Florida. It would be twelve I missed. That's the game is the Panthers for my buddy, Paul. Hey, it'd be it'd be twelve night who's the goaltender for Tampa right now. Vase lessees hurt Louis deeming who's the other one? They just switched guys out with Syracuse. They sent a I just saw the article this morning. I don't remember the name Edward pass. That's the guy right? Conor ingram. Maybe was the other guy whatever they just made a goalie move. Okay. So I think it seems like the Ming Dominque start like eight straight games. I think for them. It seemed like he might be the guy to play the guy they beat here when they held on for dear life, Demings. Save percentage is ninety three in his goals against his three point one. Not that great know ninety three bad. It's very Martin Jones was eight ninety one. So this is a little better, but a little bit better. No, it's not good. So and they're coming off a loss. You know, he lost Anaheim couple of days ago. Three to one. I think I would assume dimming starting it. I think they said the story I read the Tampa paper was that the other guy squall was probably going to start sometime next week. They're getting into a crazy stretch of games eight oh three oh, five fifty to join us as we talk sabres hockey with you this morning. One of the things we've been discussing. We'll get some calls here. Who's not getting enough credit any flying under the radar guys for the sabres? We know about Skinner he's having an MVP type season Eichel's having a great year. Hutton's been fantastic. What a are the guys that aren't getting enough crass Cam Atkinson? You're just saying that because you have is Jonathan tapes the broken tank year. Yeah. It's not getting enough credit is this where we bring up backup goalies. Mackenzie. Scap skis not getting enough credit? I liked MacKenzie. Scab ski Keith Kincaid. Kevin Kincaid Keith Keith can Cade not getting enough. And you go ahead. Sorry bringing up. I do have a bit of good news on the sabers. Onery. J a little something on a Prospero Zona Coyote on a guy that we don't talk about too much. So to a couple of calls, but I've got a little bit of a nugget on Keith something cool. And by the way, the Edmonton Oilers who actually got better as on him weren't even a threat to finish last year. All right out of that though. That again, I forgot again. He's not the problem. Yeah. Kevin and Tampa, you're on geogra- right ahead. Hello good. Kevin. Hey guys, Tony or from the Tampa area super stoked for tonight's game. We talked about getting the one two three all the way to ten. Let's do eleven tonight. What do you think? That's why I don't know. How many sabre fans are going to be there? I was curious about that. I've got a person that texted in Casey's at. He's in Tampa knows a ton of sabres fans are going tonight. Okay. I mean, I've been down here about the last fifteen years, and it's usually blue and gold, obviously with the sabres dipping and the lightning being really well that it's sorta dipped a little bit. But I guarantee a lot a lot of blue and gold in that arena. Very cool. Good. Yeah. I know maybe maybe a handful of fans tried. I don't know if it'd be loud enough to hear on the broadcast. But go ahead. See if you can lead something tonight. Well, let's do it goes go buffalo. Kevin preciado. Thank you for the call. I curious to see how many fans show up for the game tonight in Tampa. Anyway. Yeah, I'm going to be I think I anticipate being fairly relaxed for the game tonight because I'm not expecting them to be able to beat the lightning tonight for numerous reasons. So I'm gonna I'm gonna be pretty relaxed with this. Honestly, I will be I will be more nervous for tomorrow night. I I'm thinking about tomorrow night because this one's tough. Then you gotta go you get a little bit of a break. But you've got to go to Nashville Monday night. And then you come home and play Toronto on back to back nights, and they will have been off since plan Saturday night. So to me the one game out of these next four that I will, you know, beat you gotta get this one. It's going to be Florida because I think the other three are really difficult. You know, the Panthers are twenty eighth in the standings twenty-seventh. That's the one that. I'll be like you got to have this one fellas win this hockey game. So you don't get into a little skit here. Because of the schedule tonight is just gravy for me going to read you something about from Corey praman from the athletic. We've had Corey on the show talks a lot. Prospects and all that good stuff. So he has a piece up right now called prospects. I was wrong about the two thousand eighteen edition guys. He was too too low on too high on and there's a sabres prospect here he says he was too low on the other guys in this group Elias Pederson right? I mean, he's amazing ferret Hayden. Arizona took him Alex debrincat in Chicago Brady can shock and Ottawa. John Gibson Anaheim, and there's a buffalo prospect on here that he was too low low on him. I'm gonna tell you that you're not gonna get it. Okay. Well, me because it's not a guy we ever talk about because he was drafted this year. And he's not on the team, and he's not in Rochester. He's in Sweden. Right. He's he's far away. Askari lacson. So his breakdown. He says he didn't even know who he was a nineteen nineteen year old player who was drafted at seventeen says he seems on track to become an HMO player in refers to it as one of the gutsiest and bets best picks. I've seen in the last few years, basically gone through a growth prospects. Growth spurt looks like a real prospect and that in the third round in two thousand seventeen surprised the surprised people in the industry and had never heard of this. And he says two years later looks like a very shrewd Nick regularly leads his legal team in minutes skates. Well, skilled so, you know, that's the kind of thing where every time you mentioned Guli, maybe the right guy to think of instead of that is a scary Lacson who is technically further away. But maybe ends up better. You know, part of the Swedish mafia we have to continue adding Swedes to the lineup. That we can join Asplund and pilot and all of sudden and Darlene at all Mark, and you can have like eventually, the roster will be sweets. Lots of Swedes the ratings in Sweden will be great for this team. Got another tweet about tonight's game Casey tweeted and I'm in Tampa Bay. I know a ton of saber fans are going tonight. Unfortunately, Casey can gotta work at three AM. But I'm told that he he she I guess. KTM is expecting a big buffalo crowd tonight in Tampa. So we shall see. All right. Got a little better. Forget it to get to eight thousand three oh five fifty to join us. Eight eight eight five fifty to five fifty is. You can talk sabres hockey with us..

"How do you try to help him reach his maximum potential? He's a he's a talented young player. I think that from what I can tell a lot of things are mental and his league. I think ninety percent of it is is mental. If you think you can do something you really can. I know how hard he works because I'm in LA. I know that he comes by there and trains, I know some of the people that know him, and they tell me how great he wants to be. So I mean as long as he's going hard and giving us all that every day. The guy has my respect. I just want him to play hard. He is on stick to a strange. I know he's just going to thrive. He's going to be successful. Hey, Jimmy, John Clark with NBC sports Philadelphia. How do you think you will mesh offensively and after talking to Joel and Ben way you go about scoring mixing it together. How do you think? It'll mash offenses is easy you shoot the ball. You're open. You can drive. A you drive it if you're not you pass it. I think that we have a really selfish group of guys who are gonna make that extra pass, you know, JJ's open the three I would pray that they fill the bother JJ instead of me. So I think whenever you have guys like that offense is going to be easy part of. Jimmy right here. Crystal rich, NBC sports Philly. Welcome to Philly. Justin. Welcome to Philly fans are really excited to have you. They are already declaring you then Joel the big three. What's your reaction when you hear that and going forward since he said you watch some of the game last night. I do you see yourself meshing those guys on the hardwood. I like the sound over sounds really good. Now. He's just gotta go out there and make some things happen. Talk is just that is just talk when we get out there. Play together. I think it'll be a different story. Hopefully, a good one that ends with the happy ending. But I think that when guys out there, and they know how to play basketball which everybody on his roster. Does it's all going to fall into place. I don't think that anybody's going to step on anybody's toes. I think everybody's still has the same job to do. And everybody is expected to be the player that they always have been. That's why I think it's going to be so simple. Anthony, Gilbert, nj dot com. My questions for Elton brand Elton. The trade was three players for two. So according to that, you still have one roster spot that will be a guaranteed NBA contract. And you said some light about that potential next move. Yeah. Despite what's been reported. We're going to take our time and evaluate the landscape with that. We can actually add an important piece with that roster spot. So we're not in a rush, I think it right now. But we think we can use that to do some real damage and help partake. Jimmy Brian seltzer. Sixers dot com over here. You've accomplished a lot in your career. Can you tell us just how much your desire is burning to win a championship? Where does that rank on your list of priorities? That's above any and everything. I think that's the reason why everybody plays his game is to win a championship. I mean, MVP's a great scoring titles are great. Of a year. Great. But. Trophy Canarian knowing that for that. Point in time. You're the best team in the world. That's the special all I ever wanted to do is win any and every level. Have a new opportunity to do that here. And that's the goal. That will always be the goal. Jimmy, Kristin Rogers fox-hunting nine right here. What was your outside perspective and perception of the Sixers culture, and how do you think you can add to it? Now. Just how hard they play. I think that's the one thing that you noticed more than anything. And of course, Joel social media is. Special work of art, but they play so incredibly hard. They wanna win like that. That makes me smile because that's who I am as a whole as a person every single day. So it it's gonna be fun to get out there and compete. Some games. I can't wait these games come around quickly. And hopefully, I can get out possible. Jessica Cammarata for basketball insiders, Jimmy going back to these crazy past few days for you. How initially did you find out about the trade? And what was your first reaction when you heard the news? Initially find out. I mean, it is crazy because it seems like everybody knows before the people that are supposed to know. And my phone was blowing up, and I was only waiting on to people to tell me that. Hey, this is what's going on? But I had like thirty five text message before the two people I wanted to hear from actually contacted me. So that's actually how I find out. No arrest was kind of history. I'm here now. Like, I said the past few days have been moving so fast. I just want to hoop. That's one of the basketball. I love to do. That's what I've done for the longest time. Now, I'm excited about this opportunity. Those days are now a thing of the past. You know, I'm ready to move forward. Kevin Kincaid from crossing broad Jimmy. I'm right here. Thank you. I was wondering if you could get into a little bit more detail on the offense because the Sixers are kind of an uptempo team that likes to run and gun pass the ball around emotion offense. Not a lot of ice. Oh, not a lot of pick and rolls specifically how you feel like you fit into that. And how that compares to what you're doing in Minnesota. Is different. I think I had the ball alive whenever I was in Minnesota. But that doesn't mean that I can't play this Donna basketball is played here. That was just what I was asked to do when I was there. I don't think that's a problem. I think I'm I'm great at sharing the ball movement out the ball if I need the ball. I'll go still go to other in it up. I'll get offense rebound on there's more than one way to get the ball. And I think the way that these guys play sharing the boss sang screens, slipping all that good stuff. I think that's actually easier than having a curate all the time. In is so situation off a bigger role. Jimmy Howard, Eskin WIP radio and FOX twenty nine. I saw an interview on ESPN. I think it was the beginning of the season. You said it's not about the money. So does that come into play is at the city is the team and how much does the money come into play because ATI? So that'll be a factor at the end of the year, and is not like our got enough money to have me and my family set for the rest of my life. It's not about the money. I got to be able to to love where I'm at. Have a great handsome win the championship. I think for me. That's what it's about. I think the city is going to be absolutely amazing things that I've heard I have played here as an away team. Plenty. I love what they're doing. I think they're doing it the right way. That's what matters that the people that are around here. You know, how everybody is treated because basketball has just one part of it. But to know that you wanted in the draw was going to be taking care of your people are always going to be taking care of. I think that's what that's what matters most to me in a lot of other people in his league. Jimmy in the front hair Sarah Todd with the Philadelphia Inquirer wondering if you've had any conversations with banner Joel since the trade happened, and what those conversations like, and then Secondly for you and for Elton. You said nominee of your teammates would say your bad teammate. And the people don't know you unless there around you. So with the idea a lot of the criticism is concerned that you would come to a team, and that it would be dramatic or there would be drama locker room. What do you say to try to quell maybe some of those concerns and Elton with the situation in Minnesota? How did you kind of suss out what the real situation? I'll take it. I. So.

"But those those guys are huge because the power for the backup power for it. And it's weird right now you anytime Robert Covington go down and play there. I just talked Ben Simmons playing playing power forward. Amir johnson. Is you know, he's a he's Joel embiid's backup. Then you have of bulletin, and really that's all you have left in that in the bigs right now, I think backup big is probably going to be an issue for this team moving forward. And as a matter of fact, they'll get a nice little test on. On on Saturday night. Orlando's not a great team, but they do have some legit size. Moot? Switches a legit center. And they've got the young kid Bomba that I know Joel had some fun working out with during the off season. So if you're talking about either the backup center, and or your backup PowerPoint coming off the bench, and there'll be a little better tested by the magic than they were by the balls tonight in their next game. Yeah, they have a better front court Orlando for sure I don't know how much they really have in the backwardness -essarily Gordon can be an up and down kind of player. Evans -fornia. You know, I've never really been that impressed by but on the Sixers team match. It was strange. Jody was fan. Start filing out in the fourth quarter when they were killing another lackluster Eastern Conference team at home and. You're sitting there thinking you want him enjoy that's a nice down stock for them. But you expect it now. Hey, you know, it's so much different than the vibe from last year. I think there's still some some disappointed lingering from the Boston game. Just because you're the goalposts happened moved this year. I mean, my ass you're sort of a gap year bridging the process air to where we are now. And it's almost like you're disappointed if they don't go out and put away these teams at home by twenty seven points. So Orlando give them a bigger test in the pain for sure, but they play anything like they played tonight. They should be fun as you'll be fine. Exactly. Right. I covering the Sixers on a day in day out basis not seasoned underway. Precaution bread, Kevin Kincaid deal. With is a ninety four WIP's done a plenty of eagles leading up to the seventy six or season. One ego question for you. What concerns you most about this? Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers. What concerns me most, you know, probably Cam Newton's ability to Ryan and extend plays. You know, they did. Okay. With him last year. That was actually a really big wearing and a good performance on the road against them. But you've seen this this defense that if they don't have to defensive line, isn't isn't pressuring the quarterback. And if they're not bringing bringing people down, then you know, the secondary is always kind of struggle with those quarterbacks are always able to string plays along and extend plays. You know, you remember what Russell Wilson did last year. They play five light empty said. They couldn't reach Wilson. He would run around backwards like a chicken with his head cut off into sort of the ball up in you get a, you know interference penalty on jail mills or something like that keep moving the ball down the field. So, you know, especially with Hello d- nodded, not necessarily being fully healthy. Now, they released their way, you've got Fletcher Cox, and I guess you'd see a lot of Michael bender plan defensive tackle this week. So probably going to be the defensive line trying to keep Cam Newton check. I agree heartily with that the one quarterback that they played this year that actually can run the ball. Little bit was Marcus mariota. And he heard him with a touchdown and forty seven yards. So the eagles have to show that they can. Can shut down a quarterback who is willing to pull down and run. If they do that they're going to beat the Panthers on Sunday. We just say good stuff. Always a pleasure, my friend. Thanks for giving us an opening night, insight preciado. Yeah. Anytime judge seven gate from crossing broad on ninety four w I p I won't open six pans one. Disappointing win against Boston. But then a nice comeback win to start the season at home against the bulls. Where ya with the Sixers fire fans, they got beat up again on the road tonight. You know, we're going to have to do Mike during the break as have the phantom stock yet as Karna heart played game yet. We need to start the improve the flyer goaltender watch. While we're at it and little baseball postseason action Red Sox actually take out the Astros in five. I'd pick the Red Sox. I thought they're going to win this series. And then think they're going to win it as easily as they did. So if you're a baseball fan like myself, you wanna talk a little postseason baseball. We can do that too. Eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four. Join amac. Iron twenty minutes left all calls. My lines. Hey, it's Chris to goal with some great news about my old friend ROY me on a name,.

"Four WIP Thursday night going into Friday morning a victorious Friday mornings on Thursday night. The Sixers way we'll get their first win of the season. They did so against the Chicago Bulls handily in the second half fluid open in the third quarter and cruise to a big win over the bulls in south Philly here to give them some insight from the stadium. Well, he's actually out of there by now. But he was there during the game you can read his Sixers insights on crossing broad dot com. Kevin Kincaid joins us on these sports called gasline K K. How you doing Jody? I'm good, man. Yes. I did make it home. But I sat on I ninety five for about twenty minutes because they're doing the construction there. Don't you love being in traffic at midnight? Well, my favorite is Penn dot closes down all the lanes. But they don't actually do any work on the waves. Just as an aside. You're truly from time to time does shows out of New York, and I get off thank time is nap like two o'clock in the morning bumper to bumper in Holland tunnel 'cause they always clean at two o'clock in the morning just getting into it. You ready to just killed someone road rage at two AM? That's always a good. It's no good for second shift in graveyard. Yes, we do. But the Sixers didn't tonight. They got a nice win down at the Wells Fargo center and watched it on TV here at the station and give me a feel on the crowd because there were two things. I liked about the crowd tonight. Number one. Yes, they bent over backwards to make Mark out volts Bill. Good. And number two. They didn't seem near as upset about the fact that the Sixers game up forty one points in the first corner. He's I did I'm going like, where's the D? Forget the beef. Where's the day? But they were able to get that straightened out from the second quarter on it was a strange vibe. But in a good way, you know, I sort of shifted from you know, when I heard them, yell shoot, shoot shoot. I felt like I was at a flyers game. You know, Eric Desjardins lining up on the blue line. I slap shot or something. But they didn't do it in a in a in a connotation was negative. You know, it's because they wanted Mark held up to make a basket. So they could go crazy cheering for them. I've never heard anything like this year that I heard for Marquel. I missed shot. Yeah. From this. Yeah. Firmness. And I'm sitting here thinking like you run the gamut of emotions you're like, hey, you know, this is really cool. They're really cheering for him. You know to get the, you know, the monkey office back and then make a basket be great player here. And you know, maybe not also fans are horrible people in in in. Do you think about it? But then you slowly start to realize like holy hell, we're sitting here cheering amiss just because the number one draft pick from last year finally decided to take a shot in a game positive positive reinforcement is has not always been strong. Philadelphia fan trait. It's a, and you know, it's generational fracture. To I buy guarantee. You're more of the younger people in the crowd or going in that direction on the older people. Good good for the young young. And then because I think it's a little bit. While I liked the way the Sixers fans handled. Did I did listen to the Brett Brown post game press conference, and he's trying real hard to look at the silver lining of everything when it comes to Markelle faults that his fifteen shots were great. Because the fact that he had the confidence take fifteen shots and that he was kind of surprised that he ended up taking a mode shots on a team. We did actually only make five out of fifteen which thirty three percent is not gonna quite get it done. Then you Brett Brown maybe a little over a few sive on his fault sprays after the game. I don't think he's in Kappler territory. Jody. You're I you're walking on eggshells with the kids confidence. You know? So it is what it is. I I agree with you. I'm I'm trying to have a more realistic. You know, take on it where he started to for nine and they were sagging office him, and he just wasn't taking the shots. There's one particularly where they had a wide open three point in the corner. Instead drove into three guys who met him at the pain. Any dumped the ball off retire? You're sorry to front rim, black elbow jumper or something. Like that. But bread, basically said look Mark Marquel? Set his balance wasn't bearing didn't take it. But you know, guess what the the bar has to be higher than, you know, their number one draft pick in his second year did not have do not feel like a balancing his legs to take a wide open three pointer in the first quarter of a game against Chicago Bulls. The guy who did shoot it at a better percentage was Landry Shamet off the bench again e. Is one hits minutes in a rotation as of right now with the way did he played in a preseason. Got him game one against the south. Thanks got him again tonight unquestioned and he made four seven threes. Now, you only took seven shot so all of your shot from three point land. So I take it. That's what his role is designated three point shooter off the bench. Markelle Foltz twelve points on fifteen shots Landry Shamet twelve points on seven shots. Jody. He can be the replacement for JJ Radic JJ Radic is Don or move salon comes to older. Whatever you wash Landry Shamet move off the ball. It's really really fun. And he's really really slow at he's very active, and he's always looking looking for it. He's been very assertive. The irony is that you know, that's what you've been looking for from this whole time that that assertiveness it's not aggressiveness. It's it's assertive as it's a confidence. It's not, you know, you're wildly out of control. But he did this off. Offense is predicated on a lot of movement and a lot of basic eight it'd be motion offenses not a pick and roll offense that saying you can't put more in the pick and roll and they've had some success doing, and that's a far, but but Landry just looks like he really really fits what they're trying to do authencity right now because they don't have anything on the bench. They don't have Mike was Scalia will champion. And sorry, you're Smith. Mantras been played some good news so far and I'll give the nod to Brett Brown. It's always a match up between the two coaches, and I'm not a big spread Hoiberg fan to have come down the pike. But the only chance I thought they had of stopping Embiid tonight was to try and get Robin. Lopez on the floor with them in the same time because Lopez is at least willing to bang. He's at least willing to play a physical game. I like one of the for the work that they drafted high from Duke. And I think he's going to be a good player. But he's not a Senator and he's not ready to cover. Joel Embiid and the Sixers took good advantage of it. They gave Joel is couple of minutes off. It seemed like every time that Lopez was on the floor and Joel took advantage of anybody else who tried to d- up against them because the bulls just don't have anybody to match up against him. No, they don't. And I don't even know if Lauri Markkanen is going to do much of anything against him either. If he's healthy Chicago team to sort is what it is. They got some young nice pieces. But you know, the Sixers should do what they they did which is beat them by fifteen or twenty points, or whatever it was tonight. But for Joel it's it's interesting, you know. There are a lot of people say just feed him in the post get them down low because nobody can stop and other people are saying, well, I can stretch before shooting ability. And are you start a couple of could face upset he had tonight too. But that that's all that always intertwined with how Bannon Marcello how they figure out how they're gonna out. The offense is gonna operate the soon, and you've seen the funny thing is I think we all talked about Ben Simmons improving his game by jump shot. And that's not the case on he said that and Brett Brown is backed up and said he doesn't really care about is shooting right now. Instead, they've found ways to get Ben Simmons active by getting him down in the post, you know, playing power for that lineup tonight with Markelle faults JJ Radic Robert Covington bench him to power for it. And Embiid at center was actually pretty successful for a little while. Now puts the ball. Mark hells hands Benz able to find mismatches and get down to the pain trough, oust dunk on people. What does that do for awhile and be pushed him out of the pain that can they both play in the paint? Is you have to come out to the perimeter? It's really interesting because they're just trying to figure out the dynamic evolved. All right now. Told me last year, then strength or what is biggest improvement? It's to be as actually closer to the rim. I would've told you you're crazy. But it seems like that's the case right now. Kevin from question. Brought our guest talking Sixers basketball design ninety four WIP and another thing. I liked about tonight's win and again. Yeah, the balls aren't a very good team. But and there's specifically not only good on defense. Sixers played with the same pace they played night one against Boston. What we believe they're gonna wanna play with and get the ball up the floor quickly and cut down on the turnover significantly only thirteen tonight almost twenty up in Boston tonight before they just plain took care of the basketball better. Yeah. They did. They did. And that's always gonna go. I mean, it's it's to me. I think people need to look closer at that. And I it's not necessarily how many turnovers the house the type of turnovers and you just saw some rustiness on Tuesday. You know, there was a drip hand off. The Jill outs left out of bounds. Because he didn't see that back in from the overplay the JJ read it tried to try to. You get the defender on. But you know, it's the thing with the turnovers is Golden State. I think won the title last year having something like the third or fourth most turnovers in the league. So when you have these these high pace teams of teams pass the ball around a lot run the foreign transition. And and there's just more possessions. You you can live with that amount of turnovers thirteen to fifteen you can still win a lot of games do that. What what the biggest problem? I think is Joel Embiid sort of losing focus, you know, sometimes he gets the ball too far from the rim yesterday too much dribbling starch we'll put the ball in the foreign sometimes turnovers. Well, so that's the thing to me Spanish, sell even the total of what they're doing. How they're committing a lot of it has to do with their handle and the way that they got to win tonight. Nobody's gonna complain a WW and win going away. And yes, a couple of feel good moments out of Markelle faults. But it wasn't all good news today, both Moscow and Chandler is still. A period of time before they're ready to come back. I know they were optimistic that it could happen by the weekend of first thing next week announced today that neither one of them all that close to returning. Yeah. They basically said make me Scala's angle is just so is this a little more than a little more severe than they thought. It was. But it's nothing. It's nothing new or different. It's still just an ankle injury. It's more severe than they accepted new having channel with the hamstring. I just you know, I've I've been playing soccer by entire life. You have a hamstring. And you think you're fine. And then you come back and do one sprint, you know, and you're done. So I think they were just saying look at the beginning of the season. We don't have to we don't need them out that right away. So let's just makes you just be extra cautious with the, you know..

"You ate as a good shot or a bad job. But the fact that he took as many shots did. And all of them were good is good because I think he's got the talented shoot a better percentage, then he shot tonight. Five fifteen Embiid was a beast. He couldn't be stopped. There are so few players in the NBA that are gonna be able to stop. Joel embiid. He went for thirty and fourteen tonight. No, excuse me, twelve thirty and twelve rebe twelve thirty points, twelve rebounds, eight another Ben Simmons triple double. We saw a bunch of them last year. He starting off this year got double double in the first game. Triple double in the second game of the year, twelve rebounds throw in eleven assists and thirteen points only took shots from the field made five of them. Again, fructose may be an issue for Ben Simmons over the course of the season. But tonight, he only took three of them, but he didn't need to 'cause everybody else was scoring Covington got hot. And the third quarter made a couple of big three's is nice win. The bulls aren't a very good team. They're missing arguably their two best players. So when you're one of the lesser talented teams in the league, and you missed it to your best players. The Sixers supposed to win their opener dome by twenty points. And I did just that so get some Sixers stop in those of you watch the flyers all I know is that they once again got beat on the road. They're showing inability to win on the road Pickard nets tonight stopped only six of twenty two shots that he faced. That's not going to get it done. He had internally across the board. And so it became a relatively easy decision for us. He he rose. We have a great staff in place. I'm not by myself. We talked to as far as free agency. And attracting a superstar. We talked Brent last year about the concepts of what would make somebody want to come to a team. And the general idea was that if you have cap space, if you have a lot of money, and you have a couple of superstars there, then that's going to be attractive. Right. So what what roll really does general manager play in kind of bringing it across the finish line. And what do you think you can do to help their? Yeah. That's a great question. Yeah. Of course, financial starkly. We have the cap space. Superstars. We have superstar talent all-star VP level Taylor. Coach coaches done his system the way he relates to his players Howman add on there. I can relate to the players directly. I've been in their shoes. And I hope that pays dividends.
