"What would have dinner with a group of people and then he did. I'm sorry i got to go home and they would come back and visible so get here saying about what what are they saying. What are they saying about me. I'm always wondering what you'd lose your mind because they're talking about you constantly. I believe of yes. I try and think we're trying to get a competitive advantage. Yeah so in other words like your rams fan. Yup when did have been great to be in the patriots lack room to hear what and bryant floors and that's good basketball. Everybody already if i could feed information to frank vogel. He already knows what so much so. I don't think it could work that way. So what would be fun to be where you could be invisible. So i don't think you have to take that just a little bit farther so just because you're invisible doesn't mean that you're not here in person so you go on the basketball court and stand in front of you know kyrie irving or or go onto the field and whenever kevin guzman is trying to kick us put out a little bit by the way it you could. Here's a business. You could do if someone if you know there's that show on. Tv called cheaters. Send a guy out into the world. Sure you could. You could create your own agency like if you'd think if you're if you're a woman or and you think your husband cheating on you you could hire the invisible guy and say. I need you to follow that cairo absolutely immediately. You could monetize that. Yeah but i. For whatever reason. I'm thinking of of kind of evil uses of it. I that's grill. You wanna know what people were saying about you when you leave. Oh come on absolutely not you. Why do you not. I don't wanna get. It would make me a mess when it may lose my mind. I don't need to hear what everybody's so one thing about being a public figure. And you and i are to a certain degree. Not not way out is particularly when i got the laker job. I said okay. Somebody gave me a great tip. They said you're going to get praise from people you've never met before yup and you're gonna get criticism from people you've never met before. Yeah take it with the same amount of salt in other words like don't don't react. Don't get too low. You know when you're doing a good job. Just do your job the best. You can prepare for michigan and go now if you do that. If you prepare for your job you can and then you go to this mythical dinner i've created yes and everybody says boy i hate mason would just be depressed. He's doing the best you can. Only we invited mason because we had to. I can't imagine what they're saying about me. When i when i leave the room i can tell you and i wanna know what corporate greg and amanda program director saying about me. We sit in an office together with mass on and we just sit there and say god mason is the worst. I cannot stand listening on the. There was one time where i actually got to find out what you guys thought me because texted me all that stuff that you guys were saying about me. And he thought he was texting you. Yes sir i did. The i messed that one up a little bit but it helped me then instantly on what's going on. Hey bourbons has texted me. And i think he met this for you. What are you pissed about.

Greg bergman how will you go out to dinner tonight and still be able to watch your dodgers because tonight's another monster game let's set it all up. Let's set up pitching matchups for the dodgers and for the giants got milwaukee tonight. The dodgers have the braves. But are you going to a sports bar. You're gonna be to a place where you can watch the games. Tell me what you've got going now. We're actually we're going to sushi so if there is no tv in there. I just don't get to watch the game tonight. And i'll have to watch the highlights tomorrow. Who would be the person that's on your phone with the score on the no. No no no absolutely not. There's no there is no phones at a dinner. Right scary unlike you. We watch all the baseball every night. We've got a pretty good idea of how things are going to go at any given. I know that you're sort of new to this particular part of the fun that but i feel like a guy like bergman is probably like you know what wouldn't mind tonight off from the dodgers. This is what. I'm i'm in the same boat because you know tonight no birthday but tonight is date night clinton. Yates tonight date night. You see and my girlfriend has had this. Is we re pulling his application to the community trying to figure out where we're going and here's the thing about date night on a wednesday night. There's a lot of places that have half price wind night necessary. Okay so now. It's like all right so i'm gonna go. I know one baseball game. That i wanted to see is already over and in the books but the dodger game. I want to see the giants game. I wanna see but it's like do. I sit at home with two baseball games on college. Football game between university of alabama birmingham jacksonville state. Or do i do it. I'm told which is go to date night and drink. Some wine told to date night and drink some wine. What are we talking about. I'm taking that's always every single day of the week. Two games are all on replay. Really want to watch them. I mean especially the dodger game. You can watch the next day. They squeeze play basically show this morning after watching the whole game to enjoy it. They mixing the clips of the press conference. Which is brilliant. I love squeeze play exactly. So there's ways around it and there's also dodger highlights where they have like a six seven minutes later. Yeah you can get it everywhere. All right. Set us up then greg. Let's let's go through what we got going on tonight. starting starting tonight for the dodgers max. Scherzer verse max. Free to the braves for the giants kevin guzman verse brett anderson of the brewers sherzer. Scherzer has not lost a game. Since i think may it's not just like a bunch of no decisions. You know what i'm saying. He's thrown. Well that dude. I mean he's he's such a pro such a pro and a champion butler so the dodgers will play this game tonight and then do they get. I'm just going to look at the schedule real quick. Did they get the day off on thursday. Yes they do but the giants do not game four for the giants and so that way. They'll they'll make up that half game. Wow that is what an advantage for the dodgers who are on this role right now in. The giants are all of a sudden showing some cracks. Losing four out of five and they've got to play four games and the dodgers three with the day off tomorrow and then the travel. So that's That's a big advantage to the dodgers. Let's see what happens tonight. Although greg happy birthday a great dinner with your pals thank you appreciate that. Yeah man awesome dude and clinton yates a pleasure sir. Thank you no doubt. I'll be back tomorrow. Should be fun. Yes sir laura romo much love to you girl and we will see everybody tomorrow here on sodano and cap tune in starting early tomorrow morning here on seven ten until then peace..

"One eighty two imacs years or one eighty four kevin guzman at one eight hundred five opponents hitting against him and lance lynn. A to our people are only hitting two hundred off of him but with that being said we'll get into the rest of this episode right here. The west standings with san francisco right here. They are seventy seven forty two eight and two out of their last ten. They've won two in a row and they're playing against the mets who have been struggling as of late. They've been kinda hurt still missing to grab i think I don't i believe they're still missing graham. They're definitely still missing. Max or no syndergaard. Excuse me the mets right. Now there i think just to hurt and if they don't get healthy soon that the mets probably aren't going to be winning that division. The dodgers are in second in the no west. They're seventy three in forty six four games back of of the giants in first place. They are seven games up. Though on san diego for that sector that first wildcard spot to host that game is and that is pretty be pretty big especially in that wildcard spot on one game. Four four at all. I think it's just beautiful but there are eleven games out of first right now. They're five and five out of their last ten. They lost their most recent game. And then it's unfortunate that sandiego right. Now they're playing colorado at colorado and colorado there only fifty three and sixty six on the season and their twenty four games back out a i in fourth place in that division and thirteen games back from san diego even though that they are doing that on the at home. Colorado is thirty nine and twenty one on the road though are fourteen and forty five. They're not a good team on the road. But oh my goodness are they a good team at home. they like. I said they're in a series against san diego and san diego is not playing well on the road. As of late in fact they were above five hundred or five hundred For most of the season on the road but as of right now they are below five hundred on the road there. Twenty seven thirty right there. And that's kinda why they're so close with the reds right here like in that in that division. They're in that. Excuse me wild card race. Arizona rounds out the west with a record of thirty eight and eighty one. The thirty nine games back out. I in twenty eight games. Back out of the wildcard arizona's probably not going to be doing much anything this year. It really anytime soon. But they did have a kid throw a no hitter for the first in his first big-league start which is something that has only happened. Once i think since like since one thousand nine hundred i believe and once or twice since one thousand nine hundred i think he happened like one time like the one thousand nine hundred eighty s like i. It's it's very impressive. He hopefully is going to continue to dominate for arizona. I think that would be huge for him. But and that arizona arezzo not that clearly needs some hope in in their future. We'll go to the nl central next bottom to top. This pittsburgh is forty two and seventy seven thirty games back out of i twenty four back from that wildcard spot. There one nine out of their last ten and they've lost three in a row. The only good news is that since the cubs by the way pittsburgh at at the dodgers right now which is very good news for the dodgers. Because they're playing pittsburgh team. That is not very good but any team that is playing. The cubs also feels very good about where they are. The cubs are fifty two in sixty nine but since they traded their entire team away. They've lost twelve games in a row. The twenty one games back out. I in fifteen out of the wildcard there owen out of their last ten. Like i said they're in series at cincinnati in cincinnati. They're about the same team on the road as they are away but playing terrible cubs team right now is very very good news for a cincinnati team that has seven and a half games back out of out of first place. They probably won't be able to make that up this late into the season but you never know. The biggest thing though is that they're only a game and a half back from san diego of taking that second wildcard spot away from that. Nfl west division and that is huge but saint louis is also in the hunt and they're in third place right now. Saint louis is sixty one in fifty six ten games back out of first place but only four games back out of the wildcard there. Eight out of their last ten and a one six games in a row only the problem with that entering tuesday. they are playing milwaukee. The good news for saint louis is that they're at home. The bad news for saint louis. Or i should say the good news for milwaukee is that milwaukee's a better road team than they are a home team which is very very weird. They're also only twenty six and twenty six against teams that are above five hundred. Saint louis on the other hand. They're twenty and thirty against teams that are above five hundred. Cincinnati is in second place. Like i was saying they're six and sixty five and fifty five. They're seven and a half out of i and a game and a half out of the wildcard six and four out of their last ten for them and their winters of tuna row and thereabouts. who've they're playing the cubs entering tuesday. And i said they're feeling very happy about where they are in in the season. They're starting to hit some stride and they're playing really really good baseball as of late milwaukee though they are also played really good baseball as of late. And that's why i don't think st. cincinnati can or saint. Louis can really catch milwaukee to win this division like milwaukee seven and three out of their last ten. They've won two in a row. They're in a series at saint. Louis like i said which was a really tough series to play anytime anybody goes to saint louis. Plays the cardinals. It's very tough game. Like that's never easy. Never easy but milwaukee has three of the best pitchers in the national league right now in terms of era and honestly like they have three.

"I'm going to keep him around by do think he can contribute down the stretch free. I don't you think he got at least the capability of top twenty out all seems very positive on illinois him in as now. I think that people that dumped him in april. We're going to regret it and let me quickly ask because it affects one of my teams the atlanta leftfielder who is on the deal with the finger and ended something he shouldn't have. Would you cash him in right now. I have him in leno. Labor at like twenty five bucks. But i'm gonna keep him. I think and and maybe he'll produce september but again he he could be suspended so i have to ask you whether you you really have that option. He has to be sixty day detailed. Or l i think he is. I don't think he's sixty day all. I think he's restricted list than if he is. You can't do it or would you drop them in an espn standard. Then right. this goes to so for wars you can. I believe if the players on the injured list or on the sidelines for an extended period. Cut the player and get fab. I would yes. That's another case of gray area. I lean towards it being lengthier because we just don't know these things and they have not historically been getting settled very quickly. There's no reason that that. mlb should race through it. i would cashman. Yeah all right moving on now. Let's talk about hitters of the per- hitters of the first half was on monday. Show otani in vlad pitcher the first half you know jacob degrom is number one guy for points leagues and on the player reiter. Kevin gaza was like fifteen th round pick. Freddie peralta up there on chris bassett's having a great season. I just have a tough time going against the ground for this. Even though he was a first round pick an arguably the first pitcher taken in a moment every draft. You agree with that. He's putting up historic numbers. I wouldn't fight you on that. I will pick kevin guzman just based on you know. And you've said this many times it's the value relative to cost on draft day. It was a large divide between these two players. That's the only reason. I personally pick osmond. But i think it's clearly one of those too by the way could us zack. Wheeler for a very big year. Zack wheeler has had an exceptional year. That i don't think he's getting enough kudos for well last night might have cost them a start in the all star game so degrom is not going to go to denver for the all star game. He wants to and he he should he should be focusing on the mets. Frankly maybe taiwan walker will be the replacement and then wheeler started last night at wrigley field and his defense again. Let them down And his manager probably so but we'll have a great first half of the season. And i like to see him in the all star game. When i was growing up. I used to love the also game because i would see my player and we could watch every gate okay. The only chance we have was like monday night baseball. Abc tbs of the atlanta team. And then i would watch the phillys. Wgn you could get the cubs cubs but you know like in the like it was cool. I would watch schmid e every day. Carlton but in the all star game i could see. Oh that's a guy. I've never seen before you know. There's alvin davis just an example. Like or like bob horner. You know like he didn't get to see everybody and you never got to see like you were nail guys yankee i was. I didn't get to see american league players like marching back. Then i love the all star game just to watch tim raines play. Yeah because you didn't get to see the montreal players new york yankees fan. That just wasn't going to happen the only time if you watch some of those mets games when they came to town i didn't even know where seattle was growing up and then like they have a full team. Toronto has a baseball team. And i'm like oh. I wanna see their players and i don't remember how was seeing bruce bach the all star game but maybe he was there to help build your ship now. Seattle being your new team right well. That and and baseball cards baseball cards was the other way it was like seeing like mariner. But then you know. Like oh here comes bruce bach these and all star at seventy nine or whatever and then that was the game day. Parker throw are wasting time ingram. I have to give you the random question though older stick of tops baseball game. You've eaten. i've never had one. You've never eaten any of the government of the packs really. I've never actually chewed a piece of gum in my life. Wow i see. I haven't in a long time. I gave up gum well over probably two decades ago. We're very never had never had a lot of the pack. Who had come in any form. I've never had coffee in any form. I've never had coffee. So that doesn't strike me as the weirdest things. But the golly you i've enjoyed i've had gum. I don't do it regularly. I don't have yeah. I remember at coffee. Baseball cards ruined by piece of gum. That twice took it out. I hate that. I wish they would put it back in. That was part of the fun of the packs. Wait all this. I met matt old a good friend of mine. We were opening these up about a year ago. Nine thousand nine hundred eight tops and he ate the gum and i warned him not to an advanced older than i am. Yeah that's a problem. That's that seems oh advised thirty two. It was no. It's thirty one year old gum. He ate it. He said it was dreadful. And it was dreadful eighty-eight shocking all right. That's a look down history lane here for us. And more eric's weirdness Homerun derby i just.

"Everything changes a third of the season is over in theory. If not exactly your thoughts please. It's a new month that it's the third of the six in the baseball season. That's about all. I got for the neat step that i had the other day was. We are almost exactly at the point. That all of twenty twenty encompassed right if you think about like all the small sample size stuff for twenty twenty. That's now yeah. So some of those lessons apply to now. And here's the interesting part. We can now take another sixty game simple from here forward. Imagine if we just deleted the first two months it took a look at that it infrastructures. The the point of the small sample size. I think it does. And and as i look at the leaderboards there's some obviously some new names names we haven't thought about. I don't think anybody was drafting. Adults garcia Back before the season but the points leader in espn points. Leagues is not garrett cole. Otani it's not tutsies. Yeah it's not how it's not it's not you know. Not even vlad and this great year who is it. It's kevin guzman of the san francisco giants with two hundred and forty six points in. Espn standard points leagues. Any is eighth on the play. Raiders are still very good in those two now. He's having a fantastic fantastic season and he's currently dealing with a little bit of a hip injury which may cost them could go on the list who knows mariah return clean. But i mean it's very interesting. Garrett cole was the first round pick in most leagues seven. In two-thirds innings kevin guzman was. What if the twentieth round pick seventy in two-thirds innings. I mean i think it went before that. But he did not go anywhere in the ballpark of a garrett colour any of the players in the top fifteen at the position so what would you do with him. The rest of the season i mean normally we would view him because his name among the leaderboard looks a little a bit different. Okay is he a guy you would say all right. I want to trade him as fast as possible. You're not getting the ground for him. But you could get two players forum. I noted in my blog today. Trade kirk kimbrel for lesser closer on a decent hitter. These are kind of trade people should be thinking about making. it is. Yeah it depends what level your cashing minute. If it's that of a cy young potential player in other words you're trading with the volume of the top ten fantasy starter. Then i'm going to be cashing in because to me. A pitcher putting up the numbers he has going to regress to the mean and and that is not a kind of a black market. A pitcher here to say that they're going to regress to the mean. It just means that he's not going to match that era and whip but the tweaks made between last year. This art sustainable the only thing. I don't like that. I've seen so far. As the four seam fastball velocity is down just a smidge about a half mile per hour. But it's still excellent. It's still in the range of ninety five which is a very good number there. He's got multiple pitches that he can work from. I think he is going to finish. I think even from this point forward the worst cases. He's a top twenty five fantasy star. We'll be a top twenty from stage. Four all i think we have to view him as a top twenty starter. I mean this is not a case of a some lock some bad of stuff going on here but a two point one seven v is pretty amazing in itself yet so he and you know. Obviously pitching in that ballpark in san francisco is going to be hard to be to get lit their injury. I don't think there's any more chance of injury than anywhere else. So i mean you can make the case right now that kevin gausmann is the. Mvp eighteen points leaks because where he was drafted. You know like ot otani went before him. You can make the case. The kevin gausmann with his one point three one fifth in fan grass is the most valuable player in fantasy for the season in points. Like i'm gonna hesitate for a second. I'm not sure that otani went ahead of him. That actually is competitive. But i see your point here and the thing that did gausmann benefits from that. Otani doesn't is the ease of management and fantasy leagues. And you know. I am very big in the mvp. Mvp conversation the ability to play and maximize the stats. You're getting gausmann has been in for each and every start and we might be jinxing him here because of the hip issue but if it sounds like he's gonna make his next start. He doesn't miss any time he's given you eleven starts of excellence. And he is number one. Among true starting pitchers he's behind otani. That's the calculations that go on there to me. He is the number one player in rural leagues too. So you can easily make the case there as well. Kevin guardsmen went in round thirteen news. Pin average drafts are tiny. Went round six so he really while because his name sinon gabba hidden in recent because he no. It actually isn't because i'm looking at like some injured player stuff in. It's it actually. Looks like they stopped it so i it looks legitimate which is amazing. I don't think the opening days. I'm i'm skeptical here. But i i see what you mean. I don't see how we could possibly have anybody. I write a blog about this tomorrow. Given gausmann otani is amazing and in a and points leagues in hissy. You can't differentiate because otani has to two hundred forty one point. Vlad is to a one and then way down to one sixty nine for kunia. So vlad would get some some love there as well nick. Cassiano has had an amazing first third of the season. Jesse winker has been incredible. No closer i would would get there for me. Zack wheeler philadelphia worried about a strike rate from last year. And now he's going through the roof with strikeout rate. It's amazing how these guys just flip a switch and it all changes colors. Don belong the mvp. He was an undrafted guy. Yeah right. I mean at least gaza was drafted road dance. Only problem is he falls into work. Corbin burns does now. There's a little difference as to how they got their burns the absence because of the injury for a little bit but the white sox are keeping redon's workload and check. It's the only reason for me why he doesn't belong in the same conversation with the names. You mentioned the guzman's in the wheelers etc art. Let's get on with the news of the day injuries. Who's been hard since our.

kevin guzman kevin gausmann san francisco gausmann sinon gabba last year today sixty game two otani Cassiano eighth two hundred first round Kevin twentieth round ninety five Raiders Jesse Garrett cole

"The Giants have two more home runs and total at 47 to actually four more home runs 47 to 43 for the Dodgers, but the Dodgers were scoring 187 run so far 153 for for for the giant. So that portends that the Dodgers just have more firepower and they're they're under performing. Right now, the doctors are so that's that discrepancy is only going to get wider. And but I needed another data point. I need something else to tell me. Yeah, the Giants have no chance here, man. This This is an early season fluke. They're gonna fall away than a fall by the wayside and let me let me go look at their staff. Is the problem. Kevin Guzman is bawling Right now. He's three. You know, on the season with a sub to ER ray hysteric per per nine is nine. You got a strikeout parading right? And then you go, Alex would he's same waits, 30 years old as well. He's undefeated. He's foreign on the season is the arias is better than then. Guzman said it 11 80. Johnny Cueto just came back off. The deal is only pitch one game. I think it was a loss, but he just came back, so I look at their rotation. And I don't see glaring deficiencies there as well. So are are they gonna be able to sustain this? I'm going to say yeah. Jake McGee. They're closer. Got 10 saves only he's only blown. I think one or so, Yeah, I think they can. So I want to stay in bounds, even though my initial gut reaction was no. The Dodgers and the Padres gonna take this and run away, But right now, I got to say the Giants can keep pace for a little while. Are you in or you out? All right, let's finish up with some minor league baseball. Yes, that's right. I said minor League baseball. Major League Baseball brings in nearly 11 year and revenues. That's billion with a B league doesn't spend much of that on the miners. As minor league players have complained for years about the lack of livable salaries and unfair working conditions. The Major's has decided to eliminate 42 minor league ball clubs this year. However, one bit of good news comes out of Houston after the Astros announced they'll become the first major league club that will provide furnished apartments, toe all minor league players, eliminating the need for players to cram into overcrowded apartments. He was host families or sleep on couches and air mattresses. So my question to you, Teke inbounds out of bounds. MLB should eliminate minor league clubs and pay the remaining players more rather than continue toe under pay an already overcrowded farm systems. Yeah, I'm going to say Inbounds of this on by hate it because, you know, I love that, you know, Bull Durham Nature of nine League baseball that you've just seen we've seen over the years and You know, every now and then a kid makes it out of there. But it Z taxing the system. And honestly, you know, when you when you say those things that you were just describing decell, like sleeping on air mattresses, and you know, three or four guys and in a hotel room sounds like a college. Exactly Exactly. And in college, one thing that you know As if once guys get a little bit loose, like performance, whether school and in this case we're talking about on the baseball field is going to suffer. So what is their actual development happening? Or these guys? Just just kind of hoping it in wishing instead of being Positioned and supported enough to actually make something happen with their baseball career. The miners are vast. It is such a crap shoot with the number of of draftees in the NBA and MLB draft every single year. We saw it truncated significantly this year because of the the pandemic. So I'm gonna be interested to see empirically down the line. Uh what? What the guys who actually did get drafted this year and how they're treated whether that has a Positive or negative effect on the success rate. From a drafting standpoint, I think it will be is they've overtax themselves for years taken shots on 8 17 18 year old kids who don't want to go to college. Or that, maybe prospect that went to some school and he's got a little bit of a plus arm, but really not good stuff. Yeah, I gotta say inbounds D sell because There's too much waste in that system, and I think Major league baseball it took a pandemic for them to realize it. "And but I needed another data point. Need something else to tell me? Yeah, the Giants have no chance here, man. This This is an early season fluke. They're gonna fall away than a fall by the wayside and let me let me go Look at their staff. Here's the problem. Kevin Guzman is bawling right now. He's three. You know, on the season with a sub to ER Ray Historic per per nine is nine. He's got a strikeout, parading right and then you go, Alex would. He's same Wait 30 years old as well. He's undefeated. He's foreign on the season is the arias is better than then. Guzman said it 11 80. Johnny Cueto just came back off. The deal is only pitch one game. I think it was a loss, but he just came back, so I look at their rotation. I don't see glaring deficiencies there as well. So are are they going to be able to sustain this? I'm going to say Yeah. Jake McGee. They're closer. Got 10 saves only he's only blown. I think one or so, Yeah, I think they can. So I want to stay in bounds, even though my initial gut reaction was no. The Dodgers and the Padres gonna take this and run away, But right now, I got to say the Giants can keep pace for a little while. Are you in or you out? All right, let's finish up with some minor league baseball. Yes, that's right, I said minor League baseball, while Major League Baseball brings in nearly 11 year and revenues that's billion with a B league doesn't spend much of that on the miners as minor league players have complained for years about the lack of livable salaries and unfair working conditions. Majors, has decided to eliminate 42 minor league ball clubs. This year. However, one bit of good news comes out of Houston after the Astros announced they'll become the first major league club that will provide furnished apartments, toe all minor league players. Eliminating the need for players to cram into overcrowded apartments. He was host families or sleep on couches and air mattresses. So my question to you, Teke inbounds out of bounds. MLB should eliminate minor league clubs and pay the remaining players more rather than continue toe under pay an already overcrowded farm systems. Yeah, I'm going to say Inbounds of this on by hate it because, you know, I love that, you know, Bull Durham Nature of nine League baseball that you've just seen we've seen over the years and you know every now and then a kid makes it out of there. But it Z taxing the system. And honestly, you know, when you when you say those things that you were just describing decell, like sleeping on air mattresses, and you know, three or four guys and a hotel room sounds like college Exactly Exactly. And in college, one thing that you know, as if once guys get a little bit loose. Like performance, whether school and in this case we're talking about on the baseball field is going to suffer. So what is their actual development happening? Or these guys? Just just kind of hoping and wishing instead of being a Positioned and supported enough to actually make something happen with their baseball career. The miners are vast. It is such a crap shoot with the number of of draftees in the NBA MLB draft every single year. We saw it truncated significantly this year because of the the pandemic, So I'm gonna be interested to see. Empirically down the line. What? What the guys who actually did get drafted this year and how they're treated whether that has a positive or negative effect on the success rate. From a drafting standpoint, I think MLB is they've overtax themselves for years, taking shots on a 17 18 year old kids who don't want to go to college or that maybe prospect that went to some school and he's got a little bit of a plus arm, but really not good stuff. Yeah, I got to stay in bounds Decell because there's too much waste and that system and I think Major League baseball. It took a pandemic for them to realize it. They come to realize that they've got too much fat. They gotta trim..

MLB considering radical realignment for 2020 season: Grapefruit and Cactus leagues

"Bob Nightengale dropped a story this morning right now that MLB is considering a radical realignment for this summer okay if we can get going the grapefruit and cactus leagues that are spring training would become the league's we planned this year meaning all the teens who train in Arizona play in the cactus league yeah and all the teams are playing for a plan the grapefruit league and those are the real leagues this year those are the national American leagues so the cactus league division because giants Diamondbacks Rockies ETS Johnson is in the same division about that this is to keep everybody in there so it is so there's no travel yeah yeah yeah it yeah like the Florida team to stay in Florida it's easier to quarantine it's easier to not spread the Florida teams in the Arizona team standards are well yes thank yeah that's that's that's hard to even you know what honestly at this point let's go well it makes all right yeah it's hard yeah the idea of the giants the is the same divisions kind of juicy I mean maybe like let's let's go forward and having the same division all the time yeah but listen between you and me alone listening to that this could spell water losses for the two yesterday has tag match seven saves lives you know has tech has to Kevin Guzman said are you ready for bleacher Dave to be waving a highlight the same ETS fans in our diversions colors comes you wanted man we're

"Up is the churches are enemies of the people we need to take their their their valuables and there are stories of priests trying to bar the doors so that the valuables could be you you have photographs of russian soldiers walking out holding statues and stuff taking them from the churches but let it is going to spend this for disaster for famine relief relief. The famine relief will come from herbert hoover in the west. He's going to spend it on on weapons and stuff. I mean it's just like out of a out of an straight is straight out of an or one of oh my favorite thing by the way that's in the in the <hes> the richard pipes book is the they tried to to really really make the culture her be a culture of the working man and so instead of the old fashioned orchestra with the wind instruments and the string instruments instead they they would have orchestral oh productions of of a factory whistles and factory noise and so they tried to do this but the problem was no one could tell what the hell music. It was like no one. Could i mean it was that's stupid. I mean it was really that ideologically bizarre will yeah i mean you can't make this stuff up but of course it it office and i i would say that if you look at western civilization it all goes back to the french revolution. It all fits with that because it was. It was happened in the french revolution. We're just gonna. We're going to radically restructure everything. The church is going to be now. The and france it was the church of reason right and then of course in russia the churches become the museum of atheism awesome right so you've got to have that but i think it all makes sense. We're gonna we're gonna restructure entire in society entirely and the the thing i love about it is that when people talk about these things today and it's all that's just slippery slope analogy. It's never going to happen here. That can't happen the united states because we're just so against communism. None of that stuff would happen. Are you sure i mean you look at what's going on in the arts and other things you can see that there is our strains of this in the united states and it's all ties back to that that revolutionary revolutionary period but when you talk about the lenin marching off with these with these with gold and i mean essentially a roman policy enrich the soldiers and scorn and all others i mean that was the point of the roman empire by the time you get to the severn dynasty <hes> so it's all to terrorism. I think that it's just a modern manifestation of it and it's fascinating as you said to see how this stuff goes from. <hes> you know incremental change and then just i mean it's just overblown. Everything just gets blown up and then you have this horrible government. Nobody knows what to do with and it takes eighty years or so for it took off all the part there are some really really blood-curdling blood-curdling quotations from lennon that you can find where somebody says <hes> which which person it was it was speaking to him but there was some institutional some institution within the government or some agency and it was like the commissary at four blah blah blah blah but basically its purpose was to execute dissidents and so so an adviser of some sort said to lennon we should call it the commissary for social extermination and lennon said we should but we you know obviously we can't. I mean just very very blunt about all this and of course the the rage he has. He's like like marks in this respect the of anyone who disagrees with him even even marginally i mean you know half. Most people wouldn't even be able to tell the difference between lenin an and half his opponents and he would denounce the just the way mark steyn. Mark spent so much of his time instead of spending his early years writing his systematic treatise rita's he spends it responding to complete. Nobody's like it's like he's so sense hypersensitive. He has to respond even to a complete. Nobody who's who's tracked against marxism. Nobody read or who was disagreeing with him ten percent and so he'll smash these things lennon was very much the same way i mean he cannot not bear criticism and it's not just that will we have an honorable disagreement. It's that these are just are absolute enemies and they need to be wiped. It's it's <hes> it's just blood-curdling. Yeah i mean <hes> when you look at ideology and i think this is something that's important to wildlife the russian revolution in because because of the interest in ideology and how dangerous ideology can actually be in. I one of the things we we we talked about talking about on this this week. Was you know where where do i fit politically and one of the things that i've always thought was dangerous as ideology in general i i'm not an ideologue. I simply like tradition. I like <hes>. I like the things that have come before. We have examples. I mean this is so you look at examples and you say okay <hes> where show me where <hes> lefty you talked to the lefties the the progressives or the show me where this thing has actually ever worked out well. Is there any example anyone and of course they all say what about scandinavia as as you pointed out many times that that doesn't even work there but show me where <hes> this this ideologist you have actually works an example <hes> in in practice and we can talk about it but they can't and so it always has to go to that point where you start really oppressing. People are abusing people to get what you want and i think that's one of the lasting effects of of the russian revolution and and we should be looking at that but we don't <hes> so if if we could get anything out of it it would be that the danger of ideology <hes> in in politics and why tradition should be much more important when we're talking about things <hes> and and ideas in society i mean this is what patrick can reset the experience with my only guide <hes> or i'm sorry john dickerson experiences my only god reason renee may miss <hes> lead us or patrick henry and his you know his losing up hope when he pointed out and he said i but one lamp i wish my feeder got it and that is experienced so we have experienced versus russia which is ideology which is awful and ah that that's always been a draw to me as well you could say though that maybe the problems in russia were just so entrenched that you couldn't have an evolutionary berkey and solution. You needed some kind of dramatic rupture. Maybe somebody could say that possibly but i mean look when there was attempt at reform before nicholas the second and the and the idiots who blew 'em up right. I mean <hes> <hes> nicholas's. <hes> grandfather was trying to <hes> to institute a duma. He was trying to do things and they blew up on a bridge. I mean so this is the ideologues working against. I mean ultimately. They're going to get what they want but i mean this is. This is where are you could have had a solution. It was there but when you get ideology and it becomes so blinded by what you have to maybe have an incremental change here in there <hes> it. It creates that kind of environment so <hes>. I think that <hes> you know russia. Maybe it took something like that but i mean are we gonna. I find that to be a hard to believe that something could have been done to make it better me. Look nicholas was willing to advocate and have a have a constitutional system. We had that are the mensheviks for a time. The mentioned mentioned mix made the mistake and keeping world war one going if they didn't this is where we get back to work again to if there's no world war one the way it was working then there would have been. I think think the russian revolution never happens. <hes> so war is a disaster. That's the other part of this thing that i like about it too and and maybe that that <hes> that duma with the mensheviks in charge charge when available to keep the the bolsheviks at bay <hes> and not allow them to take our. I don't know if that will never know it's interesting that edmund burke burke <hes> talks about the problems with the french revolution and having been a radical break instead of an organic evolution from the past and contrast that with the history of his own country but it's like he was there. No english civil war where the king was executed. There's a small detail well sure but i mean at the end of the day what happens though i mean that that government only lasts for a very brief time and then it's booted out again because the people they want want to be able to dance and listen to music and they didn't like a pure the puritans can the no puritans now controlling everything in society so <hes> i think that in that way you know you had that reaction to conservative reaction they got rid of those people and you went back to what it was before but with of course then you had the bloodless revolution in in the glorious revolution of sixteen eighty eight which did change things so i mean it's possible <hes>. I don't know i mean this. We're this. This could be a big topic. We talk about have very high without without bloodshed yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and bloodshed just <hes> you just never know where it's gonna take now. We're we're getting to the end of brian. Mcclennan weakened and i haven't really asked you even though we did do an episode about you. I haven't really asked you to just just flat out. Describe your politics because you are not like you know you. You don't come out and say i'm a libertarian. I'm a conservative. I'm of this or that. <hes> you seem like somebody who just believes in the system established by the framers and and you know you'll take that where it takes you but i am. I'm curious because apparently even some of your own. Listeners sometimes have trouble trying to pin you down on exactly what and who you are. So how would you describe your politics. It's used to say and this is something. I try to do on purpose <hes> because i don't want to be pigeonholed one way or another i i like to have some intellectual alexa flexibility <hes>. It's not that i don't believe in things. It's just that you know <hes>. I'm not someone who <hes> will. I like to talk about ideas but <hes> i've always said that i'm an american traditionalist and i remember years ago. I said that in goodman's piped-in what the heck does that mean kevin guzman that is that's kevin right there. Yeah what the heck does that mean so. I believe as you said in the end the tradition that was established with federalism <hes> i do believe leave in republicanism with a lower case r <hes> and that would be how i would describe myself..

"He loves this shit. Take he loves this shit and i talked about guzman <hes> being somebody that the atlanta braves could have put into the bullpen. Maybe maximize blah blah blah blah blah well that could very well ring true but it can be in two different capacities and it's just going to be a matter i think of kevin guzman being able to unlock whatever they feel like they're still left to unlock their can better help him but could this be an effort to try to support art. They feel is a potentially thriving starting rotation with some bullpen help that they don't know and frankly nobody. He has seen coming but who knows you know. They've had some they had a little. I know they're not the same person nor do they have the same repertoire but you know they had some set success rehabilitating sunny grace career right louise c._e._o. Has seen him lewis. Custodio is seen breakout. You know a full-fledged breakout. I who they're pitching coach derek johnson. I think his name is <hes> so maybe maybe it's a little bit. Let goffman is is a to pitch pitcher right now basically and we see how many of those sticking starting rotation so we'll see how that goes but onto the real purpose that jared called all my name before we got some earth shattering breaking news twitter questions <hes> specifically for the boys specifically dallas how'd you players only only meetings go in his experience and do they even do anything <hes> they go exactly as you as you think they go. It's it's it's typically a one way conversation from the leader or leaders in the clubhouse that basically just lay out the need to you know from anywhere from being accountable to try and do narrow the focus. I had a tremendous this players. Only slash staff intervened meeting. When one mike sweeney was approached with a decision that he was not happy with that. Frankly i think we all believe if you played the game. It's the decision that somebody shouldn't have to make and he didn't he didn't wanna make and he was going to be very vocal about it and because he's a man of integrity he gathered the team any explained to us the scenario he explained the situation and that that was to give us an understanding of really how this game goes and that was an elder statesman a keeper of the game doing what he should have done to a young clubhouse because there's times in the season baseball football basketball hockey soccer whatever it is that it's a put they come to jesus moment like you're just you're going to face your reality. You know what i mean like it. Just it it happens and it's an opportunity for young on guys to learn and he took that opportunity he educated us and in doing so he informed us of what kind of the man he is as well and so everybody that day left with a different mindset about the rest of the season left with a different mindset regarding their career and left with with a either new fouled level or completely different level of respect that they probably didn't know could exist when you talk about a man named mice we do you think it was a mistake that the giants didn't trade bumgarner at the deadline. Yes yes. I do yes i do. I understand that they're jinxing. Jimmy coke w i understand that the like what has happened thus far what today there there are also fairly close in the in the race right yeah. They got back in like three or five out somewhere around there so i can understand the the excitement but again if you're looking big picture and you're moving forward. I don't know that the giants do that if they still are feeling roster that includes madison bumgarner and buster oster posing yeah they are currently two and a half games out entering today but there <hes> tied with diamondbacks behind the brewers and that doesn't even include include the cardinals nationals and phillies. They are also behind so there's definitely misses..

Kevin guzman is headed to the cincinnati reds. He was claimed off waivers from the braves. He has one more season is <hes> until free agency following twenty twenty although passing reports that it could be a non tender candidate this winter so kevin gausmann to the reds. I don't know if i want to say but i want to say it. I kind of feel good about this. Kinda power's gonna fix them <hes> aw i i wonder if in our lifetime we're going to hear about trevor bauer actually negotiating and manipulating a two sided contract sure i'll play baseball for you but you think that you're just going to lock me and your fucking prospects in a lab and get all of this for free name among fucking. You've got to pay the piper so i'm wondering i mean this is a little farfetched and i'm getting excited. "Your ranking silver, Andrew Heaney, and John lesser. You have fifty and fifty one no way. I would take over either them and lesser maybe trending in the wrong direction heating going up, but like they strike people out, and they have a track record and they're not learning a new league and no, but you agree. I agree. They do need to be behind those two there, their cases I can make for that Haney injuries. Lester, the decline in the second half last year, but he has put up some premium numbers, the other thing, too, is after this miss time, we do have to consider the possibility that kaikal is not his typical self. It did happen guys last season, more than considered that the J habits sixty one, I'd have them higher. I take over Kyko. Yeah. And Happel probably move into that range of LeicesteR, and Haney. And I agree that he should be head of all using left easier. Joe Casey, definitely I would take him. So I don't think he's going to be in your top sixty. Who else here's and have to be a lefty like sunny gray looked fine on Sunday. I was watching I was listening, he's pitching well, and somehow that read staff is just not giving up home runs. I would take gray. Chris archer? Still a strikeout guy said fatty, arraign whip on a good rank comp not stuff. They're completely different rating left. He case not case, but I think that, that's a good value based comp. Steven Steven Matt seventy six I would take maths over Quaco hundred thought a you know, we've talked Matt's Hutton, et, nausea on the show and you're saying that, but like mats and Pablo pays if he removed their one bad start. And I know you can't it all counts, but they've been fine this year. If you just remove the ten run games, I'm sorry in advance, I hate that approach. I do too. But it tells me look, you never have a bad day. Of course you do. I've seen your bad days. You've heard my bad day. Every Monday Thursday hear him. But the point is like they had a bad game was allowed ten runs in a game and massive and get out, get getting out against philli the rest of their seasons are erased like three even like that tells me okay that maybe they had a bellyache maybe they're argued with their wife. I don't know that they had a bad game. I am bad days and my performance reflects it. I'll give you three guys on that. I know I put them ahead of. Okay. Let's hear that. All right. As I blank. Marcus Stroman are yes. Sure strong. Pretty decent year but he seventy nine that's not even like someone. You have to roster. They're, they're people like Stroman. Apparently, I'm not one of them report Selo, and Frankie. Mantell. Frankie month as can everybody out. Why don't you like? Well, there's two reasons. One is the fact that the, of the best schedule for pitchers coming up in the other is that he's going to face innings cap and that's gonna find another question. I'm very shocked that people aren't talking about this Kevin Guzman's been anointed the guy bumped from the rotation. Why good? Why terrible? I get it now. But does this signing not signal to you that the Mike sarokin max, freed innings caps are going to play a part? Yes. I do think Mike sarokin on the Chris paddock timetable. I will give you that Rocha's probably not pitching. But if they're in first place in September, and I think they might be like, how can you not like saroka just getting a deal stint any day right off around the all star break? They'll be funny business. That's my they'll be funny business. But, like, I'd really have the funny business around paddock and saroka that Kevin gauze Missouri is six fifteen. They should Pavetti him and put him in the minors for month. Sure. Like maybe that'll visit maybe that'll fix. I do think is good stuff at times. He can. Give you productive month or two and more to a major league team into a fantasy team..

"Night. Another six forty five star time. Maybe max freed against Jeff samardzija, freed young talented left-hander, and then day baseball on Thursday. Kevin Guzman and Madison Bumgarner against the Braves. Three two, one Atlanta year that I've been to down runner at second polar waiting. The one pitch is grounded toward the middle and throw into center field. Crawford around third and he'll score. The giants are within Iran, Kevin pillar knocks in Iran or the ground ball, Basit giants are still alive. Down to their final out. But the time run is aboard and guess who gets the head. Problem Santa ball. Now says adventure and you could hear giants fans reaction to that. Not a lot of the twenty eight thousand are still here on a wet cool night. But those that are here. Are excited about the prospect of Pablo side of all doing his thing Pablo has just been awesome? Really overall but especially as a pinch hitter. The best pinch hitter in baseball. He's got to pinch hit home runs. Five pinch hit doubles. He slugging eight thirty three as a pinch hitter. He's got more pinch hits than anybody. And hitting for more power. And he is one swing away from ending this game. He could win it for the giants. If you launched one I wouldn't put it past in Jackson against Bob low first pitch is called strike little back door curve. Bob didn't think so its own one. The panda hitting from his more powerful side, the left side for lard. I is the tying run. So it doesn't take home. Run to keep this game going an extra base hit would tie it the one Pablo swigs at MRs fastball. It gets away from Canada scrambles after it. That keeps Velarde I that's big because the lar- is the tying run. Three two two. Can't just missed that one. Giants down to their final strike on to close out of all pinch hitting here in the bottom of the night dinning Jackson, ready. And the pitch to Pablo. Pull our runs very high. The throw from a can is not in time to Largos into a head. I dive and he has stolen his way into scoring position. Well, that ratchets up the pressure again on the Braves because now the giants are just base it away from tying the game. The six steel for Kevin pillar and they were holding him on a good job bipolar. Wanted to blow. Jackson, ready. Here's his pitch sound of all rolls one on the ground toward third diving Donaldson. He has it but he's got no play. That's saves for now the lead for the Braves just the fact that he got the dwell on it and kept it on the infield. But it's a pinch hit for Pablo side of all going to third is polar. And Joe panic has a chance to be the hero. The tying run is at third base just ninety feet away. The winning run is on base here in the ninth inning. Against Jackson and the Braves. And that's Pablo on the giants are going to use a pinch runner MAC, Williamson go out and run for Pablo. So Williamson is big guy, but he's got a lot of speed. Bob, low sign of all, does it again. Not as dramatic not as spectacular, but it's a head and with the defense shifted Donaldson did well just to get to that ball. Problems out of all out of the game. Mac, Williamson PANA kits went down the line or into the gap. Mackin run. Giants tie it with a hit. We know that powers at third to down in the ninth inning. Three two to Atlanta. First pitch to panic is a called strike with the curve. Panic has single walked, walked and lined out. He is at good at bats the whole game. And nobody on the giants see in the ball better than panic right now. Stephen vote would be next on one to panic. Jackson pitches. Panic hits one Fowley a little late fastball away strike, too. Straighted found now. He just like Bob, Los out of all is going to have to hit in two strike counts. Marquess has the best arm. Kuni has got a pretty good arm in centerfield marquess in right? Just in case you're wondering. Oh into Joe panic Jackson holding to onto out one run game. The pitch is fouled to the backstop a high fastball panic. Took a big cutback. Williamson was off and running one thing about Brian McCann. It's almost like Stephen vote. He has had a lot of problems with the shoulders and he's been around for a long time. And he does not throw very well anymore. So the giants trying to take advantage of that Williamson is the winning run. He took off that last time has to go back on the foul ball. He's at first polars at third with two outs. Panik waiting Jackson, another. Oh to Williams runs. Again, the balls into dirt blocked by mcken. He's got gotta concentrate on keeping Alaric third. And that's what he does Williamson was often going, and they should give him a steal. And that is of steel the giants are a base hit away from winning this game. I mean that is a huge play three to Braves in the bottom of the night. The giants they hit by Crawford. Hit by polar. A hit by Pablo side of all. And there hottest hitter at the plate with a chance to win it. Wanted to Luke Jackson. With the pitch panic tops it foul. He got a low slider and just stays alive. Nice job by panic there. Well, some drama that we did not necessarily an -ticipant. The giants offense had been so quiet since the first inning of this game. Coming to live here on the ninth inning. Run across and two in scoring position. The tying and winning runs are out there. Jackson, having a hard time getting on the same page with Brian McCann. Stepped off again. Now, he's back on top ready to go one and two to panic. Here's the pitch. It's in dirt and blocked again by McCann. Kevin pillar is ready to break for the plate McCann's gonna come out and make another visit to the moun-. Second of this inning for a quick word with that will pause for station identification on the northern California Honda dealers radio network. Clad your smartphone stream every giants game on the tune in. K. N. B R six Cisco say an HD two San Mateo station. Drama here in the ninth inning. Second and third for the giants with two outs down to their final strike Joe panic, but it's two to one run game. Giants trail three two to the pitch is very high ball three. Maybe part of the message from McCann was look, panics, a guy who's been getting a hits for the giants now that they stole second back Williamson first base is open. Maybe Jackson doesn't want to really challenge panic. Stephen vote waiting hoping to get a chance. Now Jackson steps off again. So the count is now full from oh in two to three to Jackson. Something was going on my cancer like me saver. Pad was in a weird spot Jackson tried to get his attention three two. Here's the patch panic pulls one pass. Hinder right field into score here comes Williamson he scores and Joe panic has walked it off for the giants on. Improbable come-from-behind win. A two run single into right field has wanted for the giants by the final score of four to three. What an ending? And stolen bases were huge in the ninth inning. The giants got three of them. Everybody that reached stole their way into scoring position. And that ended up being a difference maker for the giants. What a win. The giants were shut down for most of this game. And they score three times in the ninth inning a breaking ball and paddock pulled it hard enough to get it passed the dive of the second baseman, obviously throw for Marquez was not even close both polar and Williamson score. And the giants have one of their most dramatic winds of the year by the final score of four two three. Wow. That was something. Giants down their final out with one runner on base down to runs and Kevin pillar. I can't remember if Paul was down to his final strike. I know both Pablo and panic were down at a giants final strike, and they kept the line moving and ultimately panicked. They hear all with the game, winning hit the giants beat the Braves by the final score of four to three. That was fun. The totals from this one for the giants. Four runs and they end up with nine hits. They didn't have a single one after the first inning Intel the seven, but they end up with nine hits. The giants did not commit an error, and technically they end up leaving five men on base. The Braves with three runs on eleven hits one Braves error, Atlanta stranded nine the winning pitcher will be Trevor God, he pitched a scoreless ninth. So he's going to get credit for the victory. Got on the season is now too and oh no safe for the giants with the walk off win. The loser is the closer, Luke Jackson has been doing such a good job for the Braves Jackson is now two and one time of the game three hours, sixteen minutes, twenty eight thousand and thirty paid ground. No home runs on either side on a chilly San Francisco night. The giants did it without the long ball. And they did it with a dramatic ninth inning rally three runs for he come for behind. Giants. Too friendly confines tonight after a day abreast yesterday. They opened up a three game set against the Atlanta. Braves reds went four and five on the trip. They enter played tonight with an overall record of eight and thirteen four a half back in the first place. Pittsburgh pirates. The Braves have won two straight. Brought to you by western southern financial group helping to make Cincinnati the best place to live work and enjoy life on the mound for the reds Sonny gray the mount for the Braves Kevin GAAS madhouse similar are these pitchers at least statistically this season. Sunday grays earned run average to seventy nine Kevin Guzman's to seventy five sunny grace throw nineteen and a third innings Goslin throw nineteen and two-thirds innings. They each give it up the same number of hits. They've each struck out nineteen batters they've each walk six. They've each allowed six earned runs. They'll go at it tonight at great American ballpark. You heard segmentation at the bottom of the arrow the roster news for the reds today. Let's go a little bit deeper on that the reds have placed Matt Kemp on the injured list. He crashed into the wall on Sunday in San Diego, suffered a broken rib. He goes on the injured list expected to miss at least a couple of weeks. He was hitting just two hundred. But that was best among the reds outfielders. One home run and five RBI's is the reds have recalled from triple a Louisville. Outfielder Phillip Ervin gives them at other centerfield option. Of course, Philip bourbon other than Scott shetler. Well, those two had the best springs of anybody in the reds roster. Schindler made the team urban did not Philip in twelve games at triple a Louisville has hit just two twenty four in those twelve games. He's over nine in his last two games with five strikeouts. So urban is up Kemp to the injured list. It will be very interesting to see what ultimately happens with Matt camp. If he misses a couple of weeks, you would figure a couple of weeks would put us in range of Nixon Zell potentially being called up. I will I will stick to what I said last week when Kemp had a chance to face five lefties, I wonder if Matt Kemp is long for this team in terms of them, just cutting bait and moving on the reality is when that trade was made it was to get rid of Homer Bailey. The bonus was they got wood and. League and Kemp and farmer, but Kemp all along look like the odd piece in the puzzle never really seemed to fit here you wonder in a couple of weeks time once he's ready to come off the DL. If in fact, Nixon's L is ready to come up. And if if Philip urban has played well, what ultimately it means for Matt Kim's future as a Cincinnati red, by the way that reds outfield tonight Kemp or no camp enters play tonight. Collectively be at batting average on base slugging. You name it defense as well. As the worst outfield in major league baseball entering play tonight combined that outfield is hitting one seventy eight with a two twenty five earned earned run average on base percentage. If you add up their war. It's an easy add it's a minus one point eight that's not good. That's Kemp's two hundred batting average Puig's one sixty four wafers one seventy two and shetler one sixty. "It's the start of four-game set against the Braves in Atlanta. And that's where we go to get the very latest in this live report from the fans at Coleman. All right. Erica good to talk to you again. While this looks like it might have might be one of those nights in Atlanta where already pre two Mets in the bottom of the second inning. Even that trying to work out of two one on education. Here Atlanta jumped out on top and the bottom of the first inning actually had a couple of falls that should have been caught. I'm Ed Rosario editor play on Josh Donaldson for the second out. But then pretty Freeman double down the left feline brand new. I'll probably should've caught that. And the usually shorthanded one lagaras got turned around at centerfield his shot by Ronald Kuna junior and that brought in Freeman from second. It was a triple for Kuna map get out of with any further damage, but then the second inning Mets came right back. Couple of leadoff walks. And after Jeff McNeil force out. I'm ever. Lassiter's first home run of the season. Three run shot at the Mets three one leaks coming back dollars Lanta with what I've nobody on Johann Camargo his first of the season that want to left made it a three two game. Then a walk into the number eight hundred flowers he struck out the pitcher Kevin Guzman. Now works to all the Elvis leadoff hitter with two outs. So that's three to leave on the second. There's some trust park arrogant. Okay. Any with seven laws over their first twelve games. They Janke off tonight as you know, they'll be hosting the White Sox and the first of three at the stadium tomorrow night. We'll get you caught up on the opening round of the masters next fan. "Thursday, the Phillies role do attend four. A newcomer did Homer. This wasn't Bryce Harper Andrew mccutchen. And then yesterday one ball one strike swung. For has has got France. Sports radio ninety four WIP. Exactly what Harper. It didn't take long game. Number two. That was part of an eight six Phillies rain, they've taken the first two games of this series. We welcome into the studios shutting night baseball here on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. I'm Kevin withdrew our twenty first season of ESPN radio bringing you started night baseball it, of course, every pitch of the postseason. Both Atlanta in Philadelphia had postseason aspirations Phillies tried to help their caused by going out and getting new players deal fashioned way, they spent money the Braves are going to be reliant upon youth this season. Hey worked out a year ago. They won the division made the postseason for the first time since two thousand and thirteen on this year Braves and Phillies go to citizens Bank park in Philadelphia on Chris Nicholson, here's John chubby. Thanks very much a cold blustery night here in Philadelphia as we get ready for this battle in the National League east. Chris singleton around the Philadelphia Phillies here it is gained three for them. They're still a buzz around this team. I think you'd have to start with the fact that Bryce Harper has been added and he hit one seven thousand feet yesterday. Yeah. They didn't have to wait too long to see the open the season with the home stand here at citizens Bank barking. It's great book you and I've been doing baseball a long time, and we were here back aid. When this place was rocket. And it just hasn't been that way. And I think that's coming back. And it's not just because of one player they got some talented other players like JT real Muto who they added in the off season. Obviously Aaron knoll at the front end the rotation. Andrew mccutchen is a former MVP. So this teams they got some good things in store for the fans and for this city at this division should be really good. The Braves won that division last year. In fact, these two teams were the two that were battling it out. They were tied for first place in the middle of August. And the Braves eventually won the division. Yeah. This game is using with. Talent on the other side for the Braves. You talk about Ronald kunia junior. In is how talented he is a player just such a high ceiling, and then Ozzie Albee's another exciting player in remember the guy. Freddy Freeman who's been all star multiple times. And it always an MVP candidate it seems year in and year, Al, but yeah, exciting times for the Braves as well. He can't sleep on them. But I think in a bigger picture the National League east is going to be so much fun. This one of the things I think that these two teams sharing Tom it is a similar question. That is will they pitch I think three Lanta brains. There is youth in at least. They've started the year not healthy. When you consider the Fulton Abe in as well. Kevin Guzman not ready to begin the year. But address that issue the pitching for both the Braves and the Phillies. Yeah, I would say for the Phillies when you look at a team, and you see the talent that they have that they should be a postseason team one way or the other whether it's division or a wild card. I think they still need one more starter in this rotation. We talk about. Being able to be dominant. And I think they need a little more depth than their bullpen on the flip side for the Braves. They've got some young arms. You see how they bounce back from having gone in October last year. They've gotta get healthy as you said. And then as well AJ mentor who was a big part of that back into the bullpen. I talked to Brian sticker today the manager of the Braves he said that mentor could be backed by the end of this week. So that'll be well, very good for them. But I think they also going to have to add some experience back there. Craig kimbrel still out there his his career started with the Braves. Maybe somehow he finds his way back into a Braves uniform. It'll be Kyle, right. The youngster the rookie going for the Atlanta Braves tonight and Jake Arrieta. The veteran writer going for the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday night baseball from citizens Bank park, guys. Thank you very much. Let's remember Sunday night baseball this year new start time. It'll be just after seven PM eastern time. We go an hour earlier Sabuk singing, we'll talk to you guys a little after the top of the hour. "But but this guy was over in Asia as well, miles Michaels. And I've also seen a Patrick Corbin com. Thrown on him a pre breakout, Patrick Corbin. So not don't expect what Corbin did this past year. But maybe expect the solid if unspectacular Corbin so those are some of the names that have been thrown around with Kukuchi. What do you think he didn't do out there in Seattle? I'll be real honest. I have no idea. Like, I I've never seen him pitch other than, you know, a couple quick YouTube clips and. I look at the numbers, and they don't always translate fantastically from Japan. I've really been leaning on people that have seen him pitch more than me. And the contract is interesting because he's got this this clause in his contract where he can opt out after three years. But then the man if he doesn't out the manners can extend him for seven years allow something weird. And they've already said that they're going to try to limit his innings in starts. So the my ADA sort of comp because of the not just because of the way they pitch their deals because my had a really incentive Laden deal and they also limit his innings. So they're talking about either skipping him or limiting his starts like every fourth or fifth. Start limited to just a few innings to kind of kind of let him acclimate to pitching the majors because in Japan. For those who don't know the only pitch every six or seven days. So. Eddie Almaguer who is a fantastic writer over at prospects live. He he he talked about on Twitter recently that the ball is stitched differently. It's smaller over there in that. When Michael came over. He was averaging ninety one point seven in jumped up over two miles an hour when he came to over here. So that would be an interesting if you got a nice little bump, he averaged I believe like ninety four over there. Wow. If that's right or maybe I'm reading this wrong. So, but I I it's hard. I think in dynasty innkeeper leaks. He's going to go way too high. I could see that. Because of Michael's. Yeah. But it won't be bad. No. I think it'll be a fair price. In fact, let's see where he's been going. Well, obviously, this is going to go up now that he has a team the uncertainty of players even that aren't coming over just guys on the free agent market can keep their price down. And so. See seventy four out of pitchers pitcher, sandy four pick one ninety five going right in front of draw John gray, Josh jeans, and Kevin Guzman. Again, no problem with that. I don't have any problem with that. I think that's actually pretty fair. I probably probably put them a little bit lower than that. But not come other names that Jeff Zimmerman invoked when he wrote up his piece, and you should check out that because he references Jeff celebrates piece too. So either way you can you'll get the scope of what we've done over at fan gross on Kukuchi. He invoked the names of Alex wood. Suppose they can Tana and Cal Freeman three other left is that cut a similar sort of sort of image there..
