"Holy, yeah, you did just make it weird. And then so Todd glass asked me to do his, and I genuinely loved hot glass. I think he's incredibly gifted. I don't want to talk to him and be recorded for two and a half hours. I don't care. I want everyone. I want to be leaving more. Like everyone should want more. Exactly. This is an hour. We're at, let's say, 20 minutes, very exciting. Really? So thrilling. So when you came back, you got all the 5th edition stuff. Exactly. That's the thing. So when I got back like very specifically, I was in the adventure zone pipeline at that point and they were playing 5th edition and I was like, I really want to play this. Because it was because 5th edition is close enough to three 5 that I was able to very quickly pick it right. It really is. It really is. I played three 5 or 17 years. I was in a campaign, and it was my first experience with Dungeons and Dragons. And we played with two of his buddies, three of his buddies who had been playing since they were in their early teens, like 1213. Okay. And so they were incredibly nice to me. And did not start busting my chops. And sending me to be killed. Until easily ten, 12 years into the campaign. So I was a rogue and Andy doesn't like psionics. So he had taken the psionics out of 3.5 and easy to do. Right, and it created this parallel universe where my character came from, but whatever, but essentially I was a rogue archer. And shadow dancer. Anyway, but at one point and I had an arch enemy, the luminous. And so at one point, I was like, oh man, does anyone want to go chase after these luminous and nobody else did? And Kevin, Kevin flanagan goes, but that's what a rogue would do. A rogue would go on their own. And I was like, you're right. And Andy's eyes just got really big because he was DMing. And he looked at Kevin. He goes, okay. And then they all had to come and save me. Because I was almost killed. And then the only other time was we were in the swamps and very early on in the game, and we were fighting baby dragons, and there was aging arrows, and I had picked them up, and I was like, should I hit them with the aging arrows? And that was the response. How was I to know that dragons become more powerful and smarter and get the stats off. As one, Andy size, he got like an evil grinchy grin, but the other four gamers just no. Do not shoot the dragons with arrows. Like there's a real sweet spot where you can, we're shooting things with aging era, is always a good idea, and then immediately becomes a never a good idea. Oh, aging arrows. That's good. Yeah. It was pretty great. Yeah, but so there's fun stuff, one of the things that Andy told me, did you play when you were a kid? Or did you start near early 20s? So I grew up in the late 80s or early 90s. So that was right where the D&D is satanism thing was hitting. Yeah. Yeah. And you grew up in Ohio. Yes, I did. And they it was expressly forbidden. Because I did ask because I knew like you know what you were expecting.

"Now. Barrett Sallee from CBS Sports to take a look at some of the key games in the SEC this weekend and a couple of other topics as well. Barrett. Welcome in. Thanks for being back with me. Thanks for having me JT the fun weekend to college football coming up. Yeah, The games are getting more interesting. Now, as we get deeper into the season, I like this, so I thought we'd run down. You know, Let's talk about for the big Games this weekend in the SEC, First of all, Alabama going to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators world tied, Let's go. Yeah, it's going to get ugly. The line 14.5 and honestly, that should be the first half line. There is no way Florida can keep up in this game. I like I like Anthony Richardson. It sounds like they Mullins not going to start at quarterback and he's going to start in regions. Which means multiple turnovers, which means bad news for the Gators. This one's going to get incredibly sideways. But it's the SEC on CBS game of the week, so used to watch all 60 minutes of it. Absolutely absolutely Alright. Auburn heading up to, uh, State College take on Penn State this weekend. The big white out. This is going to be a better game than Obama, Florida game for sure. It will be and you know, 10 States eight and eight all time and white out games, So it's not that big of a home field advantage, and I'll be honest with you. I've six pin safe before the season. I've switched. I'm thinking Auburn. That offense looks like it didn't think it's in control. And now they have a solid 12 punch running back with Jar place hunter feel, you know being that nice back up to two tank big speech. So you know Auburn's defense plays well, I don't trust 10 States offense. I think Auburn goes up there and spring the upset. Wow, that's a big pick right there. You know, I was going to go with Penn State home field advantage. But if you think you're really seeing something, the Auburn offense even though they've only played Akron, an Alabama state, then Hey, This may be a pick them for me, and I haven't made up my mind just yet. Let's move on to the Georgia South Carolina game. Georgia is looking so solid right now. Is this going to be even again? Not really. You know, I think in Vegas yes, Eyes will be on. It was 31 Point spread, but Georgia, just the office Even if JP Daniel doesn't starting quarterback, they found playmakers last week, and that's the most important thing is that they found guys outside that can take pressure off of the running game, so no, it will not be a game. I think South Carolina is is going to be less chaotic than I thought they would be pre season. They seem to have a firm grasp of what they want to do and what they want to be. They just don't have the personnel. So Georgia wins. Georgia wins easily South Carolina It's a long rebuilding process for Shane Beamer in this first year, head coach. Right right. I would have to agree with you there just as tough as maybe as the Tennessee program now trying to rebuild as well died big game in Athens for Georgia. No doubt the home team's going to win there. Alright and old miss into Lane. So far looking pretty good for Lane Kiffin. And I think, Oh, miss wins and wins going away. You know, it's almost like we forgot. Last week happened with Austin P and, you know, two weeks ago, they were one of the best defensive performances. They had one of the best defensive performances of the weekend. So I think that means a lot. I think they slow down two lane even though two lane has those FTP championship stickers on the back of their helmets, which are awesome, by the way, they should keep those in the back of their helmet all the time. Ah, but it's not going to help him win in the FCC this year. I think old Miss Cruises. Yeah, I think you're right there, and that's a home game in Oxford as well. All right, a couple of interesting programs happening right now. Ohio State getting beat at home by Oregon If you had to pick right now is Ohio State in trouble? Do they make the playoffs? No, I don't think they do. The defensive line is a massive problem it would last year. It's still is this year, Oregon showed that Minnesota showed that and right now that lost the Oregon really hurts, because it's going to mean that the dust have to lose. Twice. And I don't see that happening. And then on top of that, they're going to end up now fighting with potentially the second as he he team, you know, the one that doesn't win the SEC Championship And then on top of that, they've got the other conferences to worry about losing a tiebreaker to the attack 12 and the Pac 12 Becoming relevant is the worst possible scenario against Perot, Ohio State, especially since They suffered a home loss to what a lot of people myself included. Think will be the Pac 12 champ. Yes, Oregon looked pretty darn good there and finally bear it. USC who's going to get the coaching job, man, I think James Franklin offense states going to be a perfect fit there. It depends on what he wants to do, whether he uses it as leverage or actually does make the jump. I do think Mike Bone their their athletic director, USC He used to be a Cincinnati he hired Luke Fickell at Cincinnati. So I think certainly he's a pretty top option as well. I think the question for Luke Fickell would be. Do you leave the Midwest because he is a Midwesterner through and through. It would be a massive culture shock for him to go to USC, but he'd do a great job there. Yeah, let's just call it USCs program a bit unstable these days these days a decade more than a decade, Right? Right. Alright. See Barrett Sallee, CBS Sports. Have a great weekend. Thank you, Barrett. Thanks. Alright. 6 47 Alabama's Morning news. I'm JT up next. Yes. Kevin Flanagan joins us a couple of good movies opening up. We'll see how good they are. And just about three minutes. Stay here. Use radio 155. W E R c. You know, Like most people I don't like reading the fine print and forget trying to understand. This view was worth the hike right? And it's a good way to stay on top.

"Organizers to Help place these refugees in various parts of the country, including Birmingham, So the first ones are going to be going to mobile. And then there'll be some coming here as well. And once again happening all across the country, Uh Amy Xanga boo. With the nonprofit says they're refugees. They're very grateful to be here in the United States. Very grateful to receive the first job, and they want to do what is right organization helps these refugees get settled into the new location. You know, finding housing and education and some jobs. Um Now this person Amy, uh, Zang and our and said the refugees typically working in three to you know, six months they should be up and moving. However, she said, locating housing and landlords who want to work with the refugees and sometimes be a little tough. Um They're coming to Alabama with the first wave of 10 going to mobile once again. Um, but not everybody wants to work with this non profit, she says, because we're telling them they're not here, but they will be coming. They're not working it, but they will be working. There's no credit history. You can look up because basically there is not. That was always a question for me. How are we vetting these people? There's no background really on refugees coming out of Afghanistan. Uh, are we rolling the dice on? Uh, bad actors joining this crew coming in? I'm sure there's a lot of good people that are just so happy to be out of that mess They were in Afghanistan. But it's going to be tricky trying to keep the bad ones separated from the good ones, each Afghan refugee they say it's slated to receive about $1200 to help with the rent and some furniture and some food and provide a small amount of pocket money. According to you know, news sources. Now some people in Birmingham and their own thoughts on this One u, A B student said. I think it be very beneficial for him. Another one said. Anybody who's escaping the tyranny of the Taliban, but I'm thankful they're coming to the United States. I'm thankful that Alabama can be a part of helping them out. You know, doing good for people that are struggling is a good thing. We we all I think feel that But one man said, I'll be honest with you. I feel like it's a bad idea. Refugees should not come to America. We already have our own problems here well, Governor Ivey statement came out and said, We've received notification from the State Department that they are working to place 10 individuals with the community partner in mobile. Situations fluid. We're going to be working closely with our congressional delegation and Mayor Stimpson there to understand this process and impact on our state. Like other Alabamians, the governor says the shocking images of those disastrous withdrawal situations from Afghanistan Hard to erase from our memories. No doubt about that. Just as we remain concerned about the Americans and our allies that were left behind our nation owes a debt of gratitude to those allies who actively helped our Soldiers and diplomats they safe during these two decades in the country. Here's what Governor Ivey wrapped up with. Our state will always do our part. But we must remain vigilant to make sure we are helping those who helped us. And not letting the bad guys jump in here. That's the big question. So your thoughts on that good idea? Bad idea? We got to help folks in need, I guess, but I'll tell you what we seem to be the world police, don't we? And when it comes to helping people around this world, we certainly do our fair share and probably more so than most other world. Kind of, you know other world leaders and other countries in this in this world, But, uh, they could be right here in your neighborhood any time now. So, uh, If you'd like to weigh in 8889105105, How are we going to keep The bad element out and about our Southern border. My gosh, I mean, It's all associated with people coming to this country here, and I don't think this administration is doing really good job. Of doing anything that Better is this country for for us America first. I think that's been flushed with this administration. So anyway, your thoughts at 89105105 coming up shortly. We're going to be talking with Kevin Flanagan, a couple of movies opening up this weekend. Big Clint Eastwood movie, too. We'll see if it's any good. Oh, yes, back to school things. That's right. 1000 bucks would help no matter what you needed for, and we have a 12 chances every weekday to win the money, by the way, another key. Word coming up at seven o'clock. So good luck. Well, we know that the laws in Alabama are slowly changing when it comes to marijuana. Medical marijuana now has been approved, but it's not quite available. Ed Walgreens just yet, Okay? And there's some businesses now claiming the little heads up here. That you can pre register, But you can't. You can't don't think that anybody calling you or getting emails or anything that's being offered to you about Preregistration for medical marijuana cards in Alabama is legit. They can't do it. Um, In fact, it's way too early, says Wilson Hunter, the general counsel. The Alabama border medical examiners way too early for any business to be offering anything related to medical marijuana. Much less something that simply doesn't exist and won't exist when the law is fully implemented. All right. So if you're being offered a pre registration for medical marijuana card in Alabama, forget about it. Uh, the there's a risk rather that you could lose the money. Yeah, it's not free. They want you to pay for this. So odds are you might lose the money, but you know, and they're gonna be asking you all kinds of questions that, uh May not pertain to the reality of the situation. When it comes time to be qualified for marijuana physicians down the road. We'll have to decide on who was a candidate from medical marijuana. Uh, not these people offering these cards and the information that doctors want maybe different than what's being offered here by these folks offering these medical marijuana cards so Avoid it like crazy. The state Medical Cannabis Law, by the way, as you know, passed in may still requires those several steps before the medical medicinal use is completely 100% legal here in Alabama, the law is tasking the board with developing the criteria for the issuance of these positions certifications for patients to use medical cannabis by December 1st. So there's still some more ground work to be done Some more steps to be taken before you can just get your card and then walk into a Facility and get your medical marijuana executive director William Perkin said the positions have not been authorized to evaluate patients yet, So if that's the case, then how can anybody be offering in radical marijuana card with some questions they've come up with? Because the painting of the the doctors don't even know what what they're to be asking or what the qualifications are to be, Uh, you know, confirming you can get in fact, medical marijuana so slow down. Everybody know service. Uh, these comedies can offer Alabamians at this time. So if you've been called, are offered at the answer is turn away from that. 6 37 Alabama's Morning news. Speaking of that, have you seen there's a new form of coronavirus emerging now talked about the Delta varying Now there's a delta plus variant, here's the doctor with the Texas Medical Association says. "News. I'm jt glad every long this morning as we get ready for the weekend heading out this morning. Appreciate you spend some time with us lots going on with the sentencing today of Derek Chauvin. The officer convicted of murder in the George Floyd case. Joining us more for on this. Michael Bauer is back, Michael, So, uh, you believe the judge will throw the book at him? I think he's looking at what 30 to 40 years, Possibly Yeah, 40 Years is the maximum he's facing here today in the sentencing day here, and before that all happens, we know the defense is going to ask the judge for new trial. Among the argument was the fact that the intense publicity both the foreign after the trial, and during the trial as well tainted the jury pool, I may have prejudiced jurors against the client. That's something that you even saw the judge prior to the judgments made in regards to the charges of 2nd and 3rd, degree murder and manslaughter. Address, saying that people like without mentioning Maxine Waters by name, but basically saying, with the way Maxine Waters address this just prior to those decisions, and what she said should happen to George Floyd may have tainted his own that that might be an opportunity. For the defense to have a new case, so we'll see how that plays out today. 1:30 P.m. local time is expected to be when they hearing is scheduled for here today at the Hennepin County Government Center. It's closed. It will be live stream, but it's not open to the public by any means JP here and according to what we're hearing, there's also no additional barricades or fencing going up around the area. According to the Minneapolis mayor, They have not requested support from Minnesota National Guard They plan to stay in close contact with the police department, and that will all be over. What kind of a sentence it is that Derek Chauvin get. What we know is showing is a part of a small group of non federal law enforcement officers like police officers, deputy sheriff and state troopers who have been convicted on charges related to on duty killings in the past 15 years. And even a smaller bunch to be convicted of murder. And on average, those officers have received far less prison time at sentencing than civilian counterparts. The average punishment for the nine who had been sentenced so far is 21.7 years in prison 81 month on the shortest end of that, and life in prison on the longest and so it's quite a range there, but 21.7 years in prison being the average at this point in time. The question is, will people in Minneapolis see that as sort of a vindication here for the murder of George Floyd? Are they looking for more than that? Well, and also he has been in what they call administrative segregation. Uh, while he's been detained, waiting for the sentencing, I guess that's for his own safety there. Because once you're locked up and you're in general population, it seems that Especially with this type of case, all bets are off as far as his safety goes. Yeah, especially, you know, having been a police officer and on that level concerning that you might have put some of those people that are in that prison away. I mean, all of this could become a big issue here. That's why they're saying when you're looking at what is at least at this point in time from the prosecutor standpoint, they're arguing for filing for a 30 year custodial sentence, which means on some level he'll be watched over there will either be Him in a prison or jail of some kind or in some sort of a correctional facility, or even like a mental facility of some kind, depending on how things go, but that he will be watched over for 30 years. That's what the prosecutors are looking for, whereas his defense attorneys asking for probation that's very unlikely. The 30 year might be like the high end of what can be achieved here. But We're all just kind of waiting to see how this is gonna go. Also waiting to see if Chauvin will make a statement today on some level. He didn't testify on his own behalf. During the trial. He played the fifth, but he also There's usually a grounds for having the defense kind of make a statement on some level to the court. He's got to be careful what he says, because if he admits anything, or said anything that might be an admission of guilt, he still does have federal prosecution coming his direction down the road, so anything he says today could be used against him in that federal prosecution. Well, it is Judge Peter Cahill. Uh, you know, looks at the sentencing guidelines here. The fact that this is the second degree unintentional murder of the guideline range for somebody with no criminal record. There goes from 10 years to about 15 years so we could see something as low as that. But you know, Judge Cahill, if you'll remember, Michael did say in a statement, the prolonged use of his this technique was particularly egregious. And the George Floyd made it clear that it was unable to breathe and expressed the view that he was dying as a result of the offers restraint and, uh and the knee didn't come off at that point, so Yeah, I'm really, uh, kind of, uh, you know, up in the air on where the sensing could go. I mean, it could go 10 years, But once again, you're right. The potential for 40 is there. Where do you think based on what you've been seeing? This will all end up. Think we'll look at somewhere between the 20 to 30 year range. I think some places ourselves about safe. I think that would be something that you could not just from what the judge has said and indicated that there wasn't even an attempt to try to get any first aid made by Shobin or any of the other officers there. I think that part is going to come into play here, and so it plays a little bit more aggressive. And then when you just look on paper when you're talking about a 2nd and 3rd degree murder, as well as manslaughter, so I think that's going to play a little higher and given the high profile version of this case. I think that might be something to be able to settle some of the nerves to the people in Minneapolis over this, but also realizing that there are federal charges still become. I think that helps whatever the sentencing becomes today. All right. Very good. Michael Bauer on the sentencing of Derek Chauvin expected to happen later today, 7 18. Now Alabama's morning news jumping into the weekend. That means new movies for us to take a look at or of them. "I'm JT A. We're getting close movies opening up this weekend. I can not wait to see Denzel Washington's new movie, The Little things. Kevin Flanagan joins us now to talk about this one in a couple of others. Kevin, What do you think about this crime drama movie, right? It is. Yeah, I like these kind to its psychological thriller Crime drama kind of film. You know, one of those were yet where they mess with your head is much is give you the action Stars three Oscar winners Denzel Washington, Rami Malek and Jared Ledo, and two of those guys are detectives. Once a county detective, once a city cop, the other one is the bad guy. And so it takes place in the nineties. This was actually written back in the nineties, so you won't see the cell phones. You won't see a lot of what you would get today, and they decided to leave it there even though it was actually it was written back then, so that's why they went with it. But in this movie you get you get great exchange throughout this thing with with this kid who they know is the killer the tool of do, But they gotta prove it. And he kind of taunting them like you can't prove how do you know what you thought, you know, kind of deal, And so you get a lot of interchange between them and you get. Maybe Denzel crosses a few lines like the older cops going to do it. Those kind of things going on. So it is an intense movie. It's not for the faint of heart. The murder stuff is ugly. It's brutal. You know what it's based on but same time J T. This is when you and I are both kind of like. Do like Denzel Washington, That's for sure. Let's talk about the other two locked down and Hathaway's in this. Tell me what romantic comedy It's a romantic comedy heist film, so and I will say that J t Unless you wanna offender. You gotta call her Annie now because she decided to Italy called in anymore, but anyway With that being said, the fact that nobody really cares what she wants to be called. This is this is kind of a fun movie. That's where he was written and made and now closed all during the cove. It Lockdown period. So it's based on that they're working from home. This is they've been a couple for a long time, that kind of tired of each other. They're looking to get out of their marriage. But in the course of this, he's a He's a kid is trying to make a living driving a truck for security company and she was free huge. He's just become a senior vice president of big company, and they put on events for large stores and places like that when she's putting on his end of the store that actually has a diamond worth $3 million here. It's actually and so she's in charge of an event. Turns out he's the security driver that's going to deliver the stone to ship off and put away. So they come up with a little scheme where you know that you can tell they're Tauron. They've never done bad things, but they're kind of thinking. I think we can take that diamond. Get away with it. So it's that story, and there's some cute moments you know, in the middle of the night, he'll go out the street start reciting poetry to his neighbors just kind of shows how life in the lockdown can be, and how these folks are going to survive it so All right? Yeah, the final one promising young woman. This is a thriller, right? Yeah, it is, And, uh, kind of a kind of a creepy thriller based on a on a really tough story, Not a true story. Well, I probably is true and some scenarios, but anyway, you can you get that the young woman in this story played by Carey Mulligan and she's a med student, and she's got a friend and she's like a Knocking out apartment student but her friend gets taken advantage of by some guys, actually, you know, rape and she can't deal with it. Well, her friend can't deal with end up, killing herself and so position Lee casting Thomas can't do with yourself. And so anyway, she dropped out of med school, her life falls off track. He becomes this dark character who's setting men up, But eventually she finds out that there's a video of what happened that night, and she begins to get revenge on the people that were involved. And take advantage of a friend and goes off track there. So anyway, it's got a little bit of a redemptive ending to it, but otherwise the three tough movies they're all rated R. They deserve the rating but someone these movies and others into theaters, you could go to Kevin. The movie guys dot com. All right, Kevin. Thank you very much. Boy. Sounds like some good choices this weekend cannot wait to see the Denzel Washington movie. The little things, Boy that looks good. He is always so good. Any 6 47 Now Alabama's morning news, all right up next to be talking about the difficult times we're going through, obviously.

It's got $220 million where the Bitcoin in it, he says, quote He's made peace with never getting that money back. People are offering various solutions everything from the silly to like.
