He said we did. The abu dhabi layover. So you ready for this trip. Yeah this and this by the way this is one. I wouldn't do either. This is too much. Twelve plus hours to abu dhabi and eight hour lay over in abu. Dhabi it's fun to say. A four hour flight from abu dhabi to the maldives and then a forty minute see plane to the zone. I be exhausted when you got there. Yeah no thanks and those pictures. Look not much better than like the florida keys. They do look good though. I have they do but like i said you in the break. It can't be that. I'm sure it's better. I'm not saying it's not. There's no way it is that much better than a five star resort in the bahamas. It's just not. And also. I could picture myself as beautiful as that is sitting on the beach one day and then having a panic attack going. I'm closer to iran than i am my house. You're right and then. No people that have watched one division a couple times over and didn't get it. No, just loved it so much. I didn't love it so much. I thought it was creative and fancy. But I didn't love it so much. Uh, the markets were down today. For the most part, NASDAQ S and P 500. The Dow all dropped about a third of a percent not too much, but they were in record territory when they started this morning. Most of the problem. Most of the drawdown has been the inflation data that we saw. American consumers face the third straight monthly surge in prices in June. The latest evidence that we're going to see some inflation stay with us for a while. We've been covering this all day, The Texas House Republicans encouraging Democrats to return to Austin for that special. Session, The Republican caucus held a news conference just this afternoon with the caucus chair, saying representatives were elected to do the work instead of wasting money. Well, it's back. It is back, and it's I guess maybe better than ever Pacific Air Show down in Huntington Beach this time it's going to be October 1st through the third with one vision, one goal and a lot of jet fuel. The Pacific air Show turns me into an eight year old. I am just wowed. Every time we are out there. Kevin Elliott joins us Now he is the air show director. And CEO of Code for a full service, Experiential and Brand agency. Kevin, How are you? I'm doing great. How are you guys doing today? We're great. It's funny that Shannon mentions that being you know, the eight year old in us that comes out Whenever we see airshow is the last time we were there. And actually sat on the beach. While the air show was going on. We were trying to do a radio show and we're just stunned into silence A couple of times watching these these these airplanes perform behind us. Yeah, it's uh, I understand that, you know, I mean, the audience likes to listen to the about four hours of jet noise, right? It's an incredible experience. And, uh, you know, you don't have to be a passionate aviation fan to come down there and just be sort of Off, struck by the by the power of those machines. Just the Arab Batic demonstrations alone. What is on tap for this year? What makes this year stand out? Well, obviously, we've got an entire year of pent up excitement here that we're going to unleash upon Huntington Beach in Southern California. We've got probably our most incredible lineup that we've ever had. And we're sort of cramming two years worth of excitement into into one airshow. So obviously the Blue Angels or big headliner this year, followed by the Canadian forces snowbirds, So we've got to jet teams. Um and then, you know, crowd favorites like the Red Bull Air Force jet bourbon in his yak 1 10. We've got some f 18 Growlers, um all kinds of exciting things. And, of course, the f 35 demo team from the air Force, which was the loud one. Of course I'm sure that that probably you guys remember the most from 2019. I love the snowbirds. Does that make me an American? Yes. Okay. Shut up, although, But you know what would make Shannon and American if we could get you to fly like an eagle? Yeah. And Just wanted to let you know because you knew this was going to come up that Mondo has already signed the agreement. And so it's happening. Ah, I am terrified Kevin of going on a 7 37. Oh, I Well, the good news is the U. S Army Golden Knights team does not jump out of a 7 37 there. Is that, okay? That is perfect as a great point. They actually have their own airplane. It's called the Dash eight, and it's a perfectly good airplane. But just imagine a 7 37 now with no doors, right, and you're standing there looking out. Um And you know, you just got to just convince yourself to jump out of a perfectly good airplane and go for it. No, I'm not telling this right? No. Yeah, I don't know if that was the right line, but I appreciate the I appreciate the effort. Obviously, Last year was was strange for everybody. What I mean. How did you guys handle this? How did you guys deal with this and then convince a bunch of the performers from last year to be able to come back for this year. Well, I'll tell you what the air show business is a really unique business because it's a group of people that really the whole industry relies largely upon passion, and honestly, it is that there are a lot of air shows around the country, but it's a small family of people that make all this happen. And the performers love what they do. Um, They loved the fact that it inspires communities and Children and families, and it's a place for people to get together and kind of all look up in one direction and be inspired by what they see so that the air show community couldn't wait to get back out. Um and and start to do shows and for the public again and you know, we You know, there are a lot of people who kind of suffered through the pandemic, obviously, but they're excited to get back out there and do what they love. So, um, you know, we're just We're putting one ft in front of the other and we are are excited to bring what we're calling a super show back to Southern California. This is going to be the premier show in the country this year to go to not only Do we have a beautiful venue there at the beach, But we've got an incredible line about performers that are all excited to come and perform in front of a massive crowd. The couple decided to brainstorm storm. side-hustle ideas thought back to what they knew best hiking according to Elliot. The single most important piece of hiking gear is a good pair of socks both he and Kim we're passionate about what made a hiking sock great. Because you know you have to love something in life. The stock of their dreams couldn't be too warm or too Colt I had to keep the wearer speak from becoming sore also had to make sure to keep moisture out the where it didn't get blisters. The couple had taken one too many trips that have been ruined by sore sore feet as their idea. Developed Elliott and Kim thought about combining it with a subscription service. Each box include a pair of socks that was tailored to that particular time of year summer boxes would have breathable. Lightweight socks and winner boxes would have warmer. More insulated one's got to work on their first design a warm weather sock. They've never done anything like this before but they took it in stride one step at a time. It began with a rough sketch and soon after they searched for manufacturers would make their the idea come to life not knowing where to look. Kevin Elliott started. Google they ended up contacting eight manufacturers in the United States. Only one got back to them and that company turned them down saying their order. Size was too small unsure of what to do next couple kept searching focusing more on overseas factories but unfortunately six six months later they still hadn't found the right partner. The manufacturers they tried made mostly cotton socks didn't really know how to make that magical hiking sock of their dreams. That's when Kevin Elliott attended an outdoor retail show in Denver. They met the company that makes socks for under armor and the team to make their prototype. All told they went through about fifteen test runs each of which cost anywhere from one hundred fifty to three hundred dollars. Finally after months of trying they hit created one hiking sock to rule them all with their product perfected. The couple was ready to get their business off the ground but again they hit upon a series of disappointments a plant kickstarter campaign failed to gain momentum and they began to believe that the subscription box service might not be the right model after all two steps forward at least one step back or to Elliott and Kim put themselves themselves in their customers shoes and realize that people were really loyal to their sock brands so loyal that Elliott even saw them passionately arguing online about the best hiking socks again. You have to love something in life. They had a feeling that fellow hikers weren't just going to jump ship to a different brand especially when it involves a commitment like a subscription so oh they decided to put a sock in that idea instead of a subscription box. The couple created an online store called mammoth wall. Their first product went live July of twenty twenty one thousand nine hundred but they still struggle to get people to purchase. Perhaps it was because the initial website needed some design. Love the couple attack this issue by attending a lot of events. That's where they could sell their socks to people in person other outdoor shows trail races and shows once buyers could touch the socks in person and talk to Kim and Elliott. They were much more willing to buy after that. Sales started to come in the couple of price their socks competitively at seventeen ninety nine with free shipping which helped him to stand out now in hindsight they wished they had bumped up that number a bit they recently took a survey of customers and found that many would be willing to pay more. The couple is now planning to gradually increase the price just a few months and they're bringing in two thousand dollars a month in profit soon. They'll release a winter sock and a no show sock after a number of adjustments Elliott says. They're happy happy with how mammoth wall is progressing. They've taken one small step for hikers and a giant leap for their future..

"Her radio out. stories will I get to a little bit later include more on John Bolton announced today that John Bolton is out as national security adviser he and the president disagreed on many many things there is one report that last night it came to a head when they argued about whether or not the Taliban should have been invited to camp David for a meeting that we now know never took place but that was that was last night president else this morning that Bolton is out and I'll talk more about who's going to take his place coming up a little later all the great Pacific air show is upon us and this is really a no mas to the golden age of flight it draws so many people for so many reasons it's really quite the spectacle Kevin Elliott is the air show director in C. E. O. of code for. Kevin how many people showed up to the air show last year. well it was a lot I thought you saw them as you flew over there Gerry well I only counted approximately fifteen thousand but then again I was I was pre main show it was hard to count Kevin when he was wetting his pants. a little hard to. yeah when you're going by at the speed of sound it's a little hard but actually our numbers last year looked like about a little over two million people to the city over the three day period of the show which is Friday Saturday and Sunday so quite impracticable restive crowd Natalie those on the beach but also those that are in the retail centers hotels people just sitting up on the roofs with you know chairs watching it from their their roots it's crazy what are some of the highlights personally for you. you know I really love the sense of community I love the fact that the event you know in a in a noisy environment where there's a lot to do particularly in LA in Orange County at the great family friendly event and you know there's no crime at our event doc on wood it's just a really good bye and you know everybody has a unified looking up enjoying what they're watching enjoying a great day at the beach so I really enjoy the wholesome nature of the event of all of the events we produce it's got a really good feeling I understand that last year I got to fly the Air Force Thunderbirds but what are some of the main. attractions that we're gonna see this year coming up in a couple of weeks. well bye for this year is going to be the best they are sure that we've ever produced you know I'll say the best your show anywhere in the world but I think that given the the fact that we're at the beach and given the line up that we have is absolutely insane but I'll give you some highlights this year we're going to have the royal Canadian airforce snowbirds we're gonna have Jeff Bourbon back in its Jack one ten will have the Red Bull airforce and if you guys ever seen them but they have Kirby Chambliss who fly the aircraft they have the fully aerobatic helicopter as long as well as the the crazy guys squirrel suit the jump out of a helicopter and we've got a an eight ten demo when the Air Force we also have the very first year of the F. thirty five demos to because remember two years ago we had the the Air Force F. thirty five fly over and set up all the car alarms this year it's the full aerobatic demo of the F. thirty five so that'll be full fifteen minute performance by that aircraft this is the very first year that the air force's approve that for for demos so a lot of good stuff and then of course our big our big headliner this year will be there the royal airforce red arrows who have come over and are doing a north American tour all the way from Britain and they've selected Huntington beach at their finality performance before they head back across the pond so that is extremely rare they haven't flown air shows in the state in the nineties and we get to host them the finality here honey to beach very exciting you were talking about some of the different options in terms of in terms of how people can watch this an outside of throwing up a lawn chair on their house along Huntington beach somewhere the place is that you can get along the pier there I'm what are some of the options for those. absolutely what we have our R. V. I. P. flightline club which is really about the best place you can get to watch your show from what it is that hospitality tent that we set up that's got catered food and hosted full bar I mean you can come down there and that with your family and friends and watch the show for the whole duration which runs from about eleven thirty AM before and those tickets are available on our website we also have some tickets FOR calling the drop zone which is all that the premier sort of center stage seating on the stand where you can come in and bring your umbrella basically post up with the family and the kids and we've got act that the restrooms and food options and all kinds of stuff especially right there in the zone where you're gonna be able to hear all the great announcement then and all the live sort of a a narration by all the various teams right there at the show center so a lot of great ticketing options again available up at the big air show dot com do you talk about people being able to see the beast that is the A. four hundred M.. yeah absolutely so the A. four hundred M. is the actually the support aircraft for the Royal Air Force red arrows so all of these teams that come in with their little chat and they perform but what we don't see is that that they have these huge support team that follow them so sometimes that you know seventy eighty mechanic then crew and all kinds of different folks as well as all of their very and you know support spare parts and equipment into the a four hundred and is the air but basically support aircraft that travels with all of the supplies to support the royal airforce red arrows now that aircraft is following them around the country on their north American tour specifically to support the tour in the case of Huntington beach we actually made a special application to get them to fly the aircraft in our show and we are if I'm not mistaken I believe we're the only show if not one of the only shows on the entire north American tour with actually fly the a four hundred and in the show so it's gonna be incredible awesome great Pacific air shows coming up October fourth fifth and six Kevin Elliott CEO of code for and of course the air show director Kevin thanks for your time. Hey it's my pleasure I understand you guys are gonna be giving away a pair tickets you're coming up so encourage people to call in and and look fourteen you got down at the beach Gary can we get you on a plane again this year are you done do you know what's funny one of the things that I signed when I got into the the Thunderbird last year was that I will never fly another demonstrate I cannot fly with the Thunderbirds and I cannot fly with the blue angels again really yeah you're getting I'm not kidding that's one of the stipulations I have that when I agree to get on the plane they say you can't do this ever again well unless of course I know in the Air Force and I think I've aged out of that so I don't know. well I guess it's going to be timed breath to get Janet up one of these days yeah. I never flown a seven thirty seven which. trouble in the southwest flight test. for the seven will we'll see out there okay. are you bad thanks so much we'll talk to you back have an alley and like he was mentioning we do have a couple of tickets that we're gonna be given away so if you are.

"Is here by the end of the day. We will know the field of sixty eight some people will be very happy other people love their hearts, broken, Emily, then start to turn our attention to filling out the brackets, and everyone will tell you. They their final four is going to be correct and many people are going to be wrong on that. Let's head out to the hotline right now. A welcome in a college basketball insider for barstool dissolve their college basketball coverage. That's Bobby Regan. Who's kind enough to join us right now on CBS sports radio rigs? Appreciate a few minutes. Thanks for the time. And how are you? No problem. Ed good. How're you doing doing fantastic? I love this time of the year, especially when you get the playing games that eventually the first big day on Thursday, and you start to eat all the wings have all the pizza delivered. And all you do is drink and watch the NC double A tournament. So that's always fun. Even though I'm cutting out a little bit on the carbs. I'm going to have to. Maybe be without a lot of pizza compared to previous years. But the big talk all year, as you know, it reads has been Duke or the field and designed Williamson injury shake things up for a little bit. However, he comes back and they do win the ACC. Are you going Duke you go in the field? They a lot of matchups will depend that which will find out later today. But this is something that you really take a look at is that anyone can beat Duke. Yeah. I mean, I always take the field. Just because I'll tell you, the smartest bet you've never meet now dukes can favorite to win this thing. And and they should die on. They are the best team in the country. We've seen it right? Like, Gonzaga beat them. And we've seen we've seen give them a run where bad shooting in a one game scenario. Seven you know, if you're telling me with the best of seven series, then I probably would argue that. Yeah. I'll take Duke over the field. Just because they're theories are designed for the back seat event. One game scenarios not. I mean, that's going to be the cool thing. Here is. Favorite by again, one game where they go, you know, for sixteen from three point line and sign off the bellboy. He's not doing Diane. Thank. And that's what makes sense eight tournament. Just the most beautiful. It's the most beautiful dumb of that in the world. It really is. It's it's the worst way to determine who's the best team. But it's also the best way to determine a champion just so much fun and everything like that. But people use it as like, well, you know. Team doesn't win the tournament. Ertll Virginia last year, you know, ultimate Virginia has this disappointing year because they got upset in round one overall. But they were really good. It doesn't change that it just dump beautiful event that I'm just so glad that we're here. No doubt. And Mirny people didn't even know who you NBC were going into the last year, and they become the talk of the tournament in that first round. I'll say though, this UNC Duke is the match up a lot of people. You have a dog in the fight. And you have your team that has a chance to win a championship are going to want to see because the first two times I felt robbed but design injury. However, what happened the other night between Duke and UNC I wanna see that again for a fourth time this year. Yeah. We lost. Also never seen Duke UNC in the in the tournament. So we we've seen Kentucky mobile, which is the only rivalry. That's kind of on that level. We've seen that happen when the Dawson right? Like, it's a cool thing when the stakes are even higher than normal. So it'd be fun to see a UNC Cornick game just for the atmosphere. The fact that the be at a nickel core, you know? Yes, we did. Yes. We did get to see one game with Diane. But you're right. We did almost go rock where we didn't get you know, the truth three-game series with both teams full-strength with FSU, Florida state. We know what happened last year four point game and letter Hamilton elected not to foul up against Michigan. A lot of people though, they feel for letter Hamilton they'll be rooting for him. Like a lot of people get behind certain coaches in the tournament. What do you think the ceiling is for FSU who just lost to do? In the ACC championship game. I mean, they they can make a funnel. Four, and I'm not going to be surprised that good. They're that talented Hamilton. That could have a coach they have like they've defense like Kevin Elliott is. Might be the best player that people don't talk about. You know, he's type talent. Like, they have that talent they have some depth. The question is can they make up three shoot the ball? Well enough consistently enough. Boy does stretch like we saw tonight. Where they went what like three minutes without scoring down the stretch. Their defense is going to be fine. I'm. Defense at the next storm. Could they could make a final four and people shouldn't be surprised barstool reached here with us? Zac, give help show on CBS radio. We're talking about Regan right now. Jay Wright with Villanova. We all know the pieces they lost last year, and they lost more pieces than they would have thought going into the NC double A tournament. I know the refereeing all around in the big east tournament was a disaster. But what a job that Jay Wright was able to do Villanova once again to win the big east. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, well all around the country refereeing. Yeah. BJ right. Like. No, it's it's it's hard to say things that haven't been set on repeat about him. The fact that he has turned Villanova. 'cause it's, you know, powerhouse dynasty almost in a way, you know, two tournament titles after three years, you know, people can sit there and say, well, you know, it's not the old big east that he's coaching or whatever he's still going out winning. And it's no biggie. Still really good. So, you know, I always kinda laugh people bring up that. It's like, well, you know, coaching the new big east and calls him to win the big one more titles or anything like that. Title. But it's pretty impressive. So yeah. I mean what he's done this year, though. Like, yeah, they probably didn't make full expectations are probably little overvalued coming into the year, but they are biggies champions and probably a top five tournament with Iowa State. I saw they were in the top twenty five then they went on that funk. Now, they win the big twelve defeating Kansas yesterday. Where do you think this team? And I I get once again it all comes out to match up. So we don't know what it is. But where do you feel like this team can go in the NC double A tournament? Now with win the big twelve conference tournament. I mean, they can they can make fun of four. I was always I was I think I might have been the highest on I was state in preseason rankings and everything like that coming into the year. I loved the way that this team is made from roster standpoint they had guys miss like I kind of quarter of the year. So Iran, kind of forgot about them because they didn't really do anything to Maui. Full-strength? And then we saw them. Just Kamala Kansas I scheme. You know, early in the conference here when we didn't know Kansas was at the time. But I mean, we this is who they are like their street. And they have the roster the roster. It's so perfect. I love the way they're Bill with the length and the way the switch everything and it can kind of stretched before they have a lot of playmakers. It's just will they just like to play with each other for another three weeks. Like, we heard all the rumors from a couple of weeks ago that there's a fight and practice, and that's how Meryl shock hurt. His foot was he kicked the door something like that. So and we saw Jacobson and Taylor Tucker kind of get into it on the court, you know, within a huddle one who's just like you who are they? If they like playing with each other and winning. Sir. All this team can make fun of fort like they're that good. They are one of the. Fifteen sixteen most talented teams in the country again, it's just ten they consistently put it together for the next four games at DiMaggio. Like Tennessee up against Auburn later today know, Tennessee suffered a loss to Auburn not that long ago, where do you go on that one? Yeah. I think it's a really interesting matchup because Auburn does prevent a little a little bit of a match up. That's calling for Tennessee, which we kind of saw him the first game. I know that was that Auburn that it helps but the kind of length and. There's two ways to kind of attack Tennessee, white like retreive. It's so Kentucky because Greg Williams like the us. The leverage in the post. And that's where we try which is one of the only people in the country that it's strong enough with his body type to kind of keep them out of that post spot other ways, you just have these big like just bother everything. And that's what that's what happened. That's what we saw happening. The first game, you know, Chuo Katie who can not only stretched a floor but block shots and kind of put the ball loose. I mean, I it can match up because again Auburn to really good shooting team. They've been shoot the ball well at the tournament Jared Harper's and well going really well for Kiki's healthy. And I think it's going to be closer than people think. I I mean this team again, this is a team that was pop twelve in the preseason. So it's not like a cakewalk five. But it sounds like a traditional. We know that this is Tom Izzo this time of the year with Michigan state and then for Michigan B line has done a sensational job and has got a lot of credit throughout the years. Michigan Michigan state. What do you think? This game comes down to. Michigan's offense. I mean, that's ultimately what it comes down to is the first game. Michigan state had a great defensive plan to kind of go underneath everything and force Michigan. To essentially wanna play one on one. And that's not Michigan's game. They're there to their offense. It's it's based on passing and cutting and then thinking to Michigan came out played well the first half, but then offense when the second half. So to me, it's more golf. Michigan state can do. I mean, obviously you have to play. Well, but again, it can Michigan just just quotable barstool rigs here with us Zach yelp show on CBS sports radio talking about the Regan covers all their college basketball information for barstool,.

I'm gonna do internet dating job, done it before, and I just can't imagine because you can see you learn so much. You thought you and Robbie moved to New York together. We did. They want dating at the time. Oh yeah, we we move roommates that became. That happened in a like, we know we had the, oh yeah, I think we were talking. We had a sloppy hookup didn't date for four got here drove across country. First night we didn't have beds. We got hammered omega out because we were like, we have to get hammered, were sleeping on the floor we made out, and then we're kinda. And then Amy when to get him or her sleeping on that, we don't have. We have to get hammered. We went to Rudy's ninth three dollar beers. And then Amy went to LA for like two weeks, and we kind of just had the apartment to ourselves and it was like, we're just a lot of exploring and then kind of like within a month, I think I got. I was gotta show and Bosnich Nikki moment, like my boyfriend and then we were like, that's how you, that's how you guys became boyfriend. Go front. Yeah, drug asks or the best. Yeah. And then he was like, okay, yeah, yeah. 'cause I think I think he'd already said like, I love you or something because we had known each other for four years. And so I think I. Yeah. So he said it like pretty early on and then, but he said, I love you like a romantic way because I I said, I love you too. John Kevin, Elliott, but I didn't mean it in that way. I have a deep love for him a human. No, he said it in a romantic way pretty early on, but that's what I'm saying. Maybe there was already suffer because we were. We were really good friends in LA, you know, we would, and we would go and hang out together all the time and like go to movies, go to dinner. So I don't know. Just like separating ourselves from a different worlds always wanted to fall over the friend and it just never going to happen. I know. So not in love with any my friends, but it. We would just do some stuff like we're just butthole not, but not, you know, I'm actually not that comfortable with but play on you or him both. Why did something happen? No, just always felt a little bit that's for exiting. Yeah. Although apparently I think when I am like that hammered, I think sometimes I look, I know that too. I don't mean about your blackout drunk is the only time that anal can even feel good. I well, I don't think and not even having, I think, just like licking like trying looking at like some little finger, but yeah, but I think sometimes if I'm like really hammered and I like blow some like blow on my might like squabbled for the most part. "Great i was that i'm glad that that qualifies as book but qualify chart okay to check and and actually una hit it off the well enough on the show that i think a week later i was attending the flyers club roast of rob ryan and i'm not mistaken i brought you as much plus one it is anyone of sitting near friend of the show friend of ours josh charles and the only reason i mentioned that at all is because that was the very nine i'm at one kevin elliott public that all comes back to kevin paul which let's be honest it is the kevin pollock trash over the past so and ran for three and a half years and had well here's my question severity the show it's all shot in a former bowling alley was about a bowling alley hoyer in the stuckey ville new jersey sticking ohio stack avila high shot in huge or not injures our apologies for the confusion there that was not a note so's and that time murray there and he and i didn't for review for that i appreciate it i remember in the two weeks are however long i shot at least three times today in spite if the dozens of signs posted outside of the bowling alley that said closed not a real bowling alley at least three times today summon walk in the front door bowling ball in hand wanting to ball hair you guys open right he did that happened every time it's probably i'd probably happened a lot okay i mean it went in look like a bowling alley did it was a bowling alley at one point and we still working bowling alley ditches that we're shooting a television show their and ed ripped up half of the lanes so i can understand why somebody would think i've pulled here on my life it still looks like a bowling alley brain damage on minimal here again and then only to be told no no no no you're not the southern as much sympathy for them there were literally to dozens outside but fits this is not of only i don't know what to tell you that's alright i think our judge people more harshly new which is shocking to.
