"From afar, I mean, fair to say pretty tumultuous last three, four years. I think that thing that surprised me the most was Steph leaving because it seemed like she had kind of become the anointed successor in a lot of different ways and seemed like she really loved being in the business. And that one took me by surprise. Is she gone? Is it not coming back? How does that play out with her? Yeah. She decided to step away. Initially, she was on a leave of absence. Some of the Vince stuff started to happen. He stepped out for a moment. She was asked by Vince, by myself, by the board to come back. She came back, which we were extremely gracious for her in doing so. And ultimately, when Vince came back, she decided that, hey, she was ready to go and step out. I respect the decision. I wish she hadn't done that. And she knows that for me personally. She's a terrific executive and a terrific person. That's her decision. Her relationship with Vince is theirs. And once she made it, I have total respect for the decision. So is she like out of the business? I mean, this is like a really smart businesswoman. Is she just out? She's not going to do anything? Well, I don't know what the future holds, but with Vince as the chairman of the company, Paul, the head of creative, me in the role that I'm in. You know, Stephanie wanted to do something with WWE. Of course, WWE would embrace that. The WWE universe would embrace that. I think she's enjoying some time off. And you know the drill. After grinding hard, as you grinded hard, as she grinded hard, take a few months off. She still has school-aged children. She and Paul do. I think she's enjoying herself. Couldn't she come back and do an angle where she and Test are having an affair? I think Test passed away a couple of years ago. Oh, no. The new Test. The new Test. Test's brother or something? So with the Vince stuff, you expect him to be back full speed, running a lot of the stuff like he did? Or you think he shares it with you and Paul? How does that go? Well, look, I think there's always a share with Vince. So I'll give you an example. When I started with the company and we were going through org charts and all this corporate, you know, boring stuff, and I said to Vince, I said, Vince, these folks who have worked with you, Kevin Dunn, Paul Levesque, for decades, it would be absurd to put them under me. What am I going to say to Kevin Dunn? Why did you call Vince McMahon directly on this issue? Vince, you can talk to anyone you want at any time. The more calibrated we are, the better the results are, in my opinion. And that's what we set out to do, and I think that's what we did. So Vince has earned the right to call people about whatever he'd like to discuss as it relates to WWE. So he'll call me with different business side deals that have happened. We'll have a dialogue about it. He's often in touch with Paul on the creative side, and that's what he's earned. So let's talk media stuff for one second, just because I think you're one of the smartest sports media guests I can have on. There's been a lot of stuff going on with ESPN the last, you know, last couple of years, but especially the last six months, where for the first time, they looked really vulnerable. And we've talked about it a few times on this podcast, most recently last week with Ben Thompson, talking about this charter deal was the first time somebody really looked them in the eye and was like, I don't care if you're with us or not. And ESPN blinked, and they made a deal in time for Monday Night Football, which will be last night by the time people hear this. ESPN also did that deal with Penn to do the gambling app, which honestly seemed like a money grab more than anything. I don't like if you're going to get in the gambling space, I'm not sure why you wouldn't be with the SEC or the Big Ten of the gambling space. They went with like a second level app, basically, but it seemed like a pretty big money price. A lot of the decisions seem to be geared toward either saving money or some sort of quick fix financial thing, and I can't understand why. So what is your theory? So I think a couple things. You and I both agreed that the real standoff would either end or might never end by the start of what would be last night's New York Jets Aaron Rodgers versus Buffalo Bills game. And I think the reason we both thought that is charter, as you know, is primarily New York, Los Angeles, and Dallas. So remove Dallas for the moment. New York and Los Angeles are not big college football cities. As you know, and yes, if UFC is good, then L.A. will tune in. But those are not college football cities. So I thought it was a big flinch, the, hey, we're going dark the first weekend of college football. I didn't think that was a big deal. I also think it's really hard to cancel your cable. This is not like just press a break. You have to call and you get transferred overseas and you're pressing buttons and all this stuff. So I don't know that charter felt any pain off that college football week, those 10 days or so that went by. The key was always you said it, I said it, I'm sure many others said it. Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets on Monday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills who went 13 and 3 last season, as you know. That was going to be the real line of demarcation. And boom, the deal got done a couple hours before that. So I think what you're seeing now, in my opinion, this Microsoft Activision transaction, which the FTC tried to block and which a court overturned, which now Microsoft and Activision are going through. There was an article on Puck. I know you do some stuff. Yeah, felony and that accrues great. There's an article on Puck which laid out the legal strategy for how the Microsoft lawyers put the onus of disproving that onto the government. And I think entities that are looking at possibly transacting, merging, being acquired, acquiring now say they might have been looking for the next presidential election to say, hey, is there going to be a new administration? Is it going to be easier to get these deals through? I think now there's a map. So whenever you see companies starting to maximize profit in EBITDA, you know the shrill. You sold your company, right? Why do you do that? Hey, the higher the profit, the multiple on the profit means more money to the founders and the owners of the company. So when I see Disney doing deals like that, it makes me think that could a final chapter be selling more than just ESPN or looking for more than just a strategic partner for ESPN? It could be. I don't know what's on the inside of that, but I know if you ask anybody, if you go over to Warner Brothers Discovery and Comcast, well, hey, that seems like a natural merger. If you can get the merger through, I think it's much easier. I don't want to say easier, but you have a healthier chance of getting it through now than you did even a mere three months ago. And I think there's something about the Disney-Apple thing to me. Yes. When I saw Bob Iger on the stage at that Apple conference when they introduced the 3D glasses and he said Disney Plus is going to be available on day one of those glasses, we know his affinity for Steve Jobs. We know, of course, Jobs passed away. We know Iger was on the board there. I'm not saying they're trying to sell to Apple, but I look at Apple. What does Apple need? They need the intellectual property. So they don't need ABC. They don't need that, but they need what's behind it so they can put consistent content onto their platforms. Again, what you already know, iPhone, not as big internationally as it is domestically. Disney, big internationally. So you put that content there. You can sell more iPhones. You can increase your subscriber price. And boom, could that be what they're looking at? Maybe. But I don't know.

"So can you guys combine on weekends? Like, what's the strategy with that? Because there's these dead sports spots in the calendar where you get like mid-February, you know, basically anytime in July and August seems to be available unless there's an Olympics and some other spots. Do you have like a mega weekend? Have you talked about that? So the conversations are just beginning now. Everybody wanted to make sure that we got all the regulatory approvals in place. Department of Justice approval, SEC approval, a couple of international approvals that we needed. And obviously we got all of those. So the conversations are just happening now. But yes, what everyone envisions is can you set up an all-star TKO weekend where if SmackDown goes on Friday and the UFC goes on Saturday with a pay-per-view and WWE goes with a premium live event on Sunday, can you do that from the same city? Certainly a lot of cost efficiencies there in terms of production, but a lot of revenue efficiencies in terms of upside we think there as well. And you think the crews, like every, the different ways you present the events, do those things overlap or do they, like what parts stay separate? Well, certainly the fighters and the WWE superstars will stay separate as you might imagine. And yes, could you have a Ronda Rousey or Brock Lesnar come along, you know, who can cross from one to the other? Sure. But that's a once in a decade, if not, you know, longer type of thing. But in terms of production, Craig, Kevin Dunn, who's been with WWE for 40 plus years, Craig Borsari, who's been with UFC for over a decade, who's in charge of all the production there. They've had a number of conversations on those efficiencies, how it might look, how it might work. And, you know, hopefully we have some news on that in a couple of months. Oh, cryptic answer. Okay. What about the TV rights piece of this? Because ESPN, they did this great deal with UFC, which I'm sure they're very happy with. WWE has been doing these different deals. Is there a world where it's a one plus one equals three package for one buyer or do you keep them separate or how does that go? Listen, that's called the Bill Simmons model of negotiating when you were with ESPN, which was, hey, if you want me Bill Simmons, you pay X, but you're also going to take all of these other people at Y and Z. It's quite effective. That being said, you have, you know, NBCU, who is a significant partner of WWE, Disney, as you just mentioned, a significant partner of UFC. Those deals are not up at the same time. But it is interesting that you have two companies who tend to compete with each other, whether it was over the Fox, the acquisition of the Fox assets a few years ago, just after that, as you recall it, as we've discussed previously, the Sky acquisition after that. So, you know, let's see. Let's see what happens. But we're thrilled with NBCU. We, meaning WWE, UFC seems to be thrilled with Disney. But yes, it can always get better. So let's see. Is there like a brain trust for this? So UFC, I think, comes up before WWE. So is UFC, they're just like, hey, we're going to do this? Or is now they're like, is Vince in that? Or are you in that? Who's in that? It's, WWE is up in October of 24. UFC is up about a year later. Okay. I had that wrong. Yeah. I'm old. Ten years ago, I would have remembered that correctly. Listen, you and me both. I'm only trailing you by a couple of years here.

"Who did you have for worst dress? Chocolate sauce. All right, not bad. I had regrets too pretty to be doused in chocolate sauce. Like that. I don't know problem with it. I had the eggnog moss. Not moss. Yeah, I had Reggie. You know, he still wrestling in a suit and he had knee pads this week. What? Okay. Whatever. Why did you shoot? Best dressed. Lift Morgan. She's well video package, I guess, but I had Maurice in the wedding dress. I had a Caleb Braxton interviewing Paul Heyman at the beginning of SmackDown. She looked sexy. Yeah. Yeah. Worst acting. Tony storm. Tony storm crying. Oh, God. Terrible. Sweep it. Terrible. Best acting thing? Riddle? Otis. Dominic, Mysterio. Dominic Mysterio. Thank you, Alex. Oh yeah. That's a no one's award goes to Kevin Owens. He's back. Yeah. It's his award now again. And better than ever. Yep. It's like AW, where MJF wins every week. It looks like it's going to go back to Kevin Owens every week now. Yep. Worst comment? Boom. Zap, kapow. Yep. Best comment. Kevin, I would say there's no way he typed that. That was really good. That was really good. What's his face? McAfee had a misses like, what do you think Detroit? Should I say yes? He's like, yeah, definitely Miz. Don't listen to stupid Detroit. That makes me Corey graves. Oh, great, great, sorry. And then, but the best line was probably just to throw away of Kevin Owens like Seth and I became best friends and then kept talking through it. I was like, that's great. I also had Kevin Owens telling Kevin to pick a new name. We're smash. Nate Claire 24/7. I had flare and storm, yeah. It was terrible. Okay. The 12 man gauntlet. It was my slo-mo. Best match. Yeah, I mean, Kevin Owens just cause Kevin Owens is so great this week. He deserves. Yeah. His matches are as extra points. Yeah. Yeah, why not? Even did the suck at chops? Right. Well, Shelton. We're smooth. Charlotte's double moonsault. I had the roll up compilation. Okay, yeah, that's bad too. Yeah, the roll up flares roll up to when yeah. Best move. I had to fake out the RKO fake outs of riddle. I thought that was great. Oh, yeah. Now that's good. I had the recoil just 'cause Humberto sold it really well. Made it look really good. Worst moment or segment? Again, I had Tony storm crying. Yeah, I just angered me so much. Right. Horrible. 'cause this is not the first time. That's her gimmick. She cries. Yeah. That's what give me. And she gets pied in the face and cries about that too. Eyes and cries. All right, final award, what was your best Kevin Owens moment? I think it was me like Bischoff being there was kind of cool. Let me just throw that out there. Yeah, he was, but yeah, but he didn't ask for your best Eric fish off moment. No. Kevin Owens yelling at Kim and Patrick. No. MVP. I had Bert. Your name is Bert. Yeah, that was, yeah. I'm going with the backstage interview. Yeah. That was great. Oh, interview was amazing. All right, that's all for awards, so now it's time for breaking news. So WWE had a house show in Madison Square Garden this past weekend. And due to many wrestlers being out with COVID, they had to change the main events and was brought in last minute and wrestled Kevin Owens inside a steel cage. What? Yeah. What the hell? Hold on. The first match they ever have against each other is that a house show. At least it's like a Madison Square Garden house. Yeah, if they're gonna do it anywhere, they're gonna do it there. And at least it wasn't planned at least it was, you know, a last minute, like we have to bring in someone. But it's a fucking shame if they had to do this. I know. In a cage match. Come on. This is your WrestleMania main event. Yeah? Or I mean, you know, could be. Kevin Owens versus Big E and then AJ fights edge. Yeah, I do want to see AJ fight edge. Yeah. It's a good thing. They got omas off of his ass. Anyway, speaking of COVID, this past Sunday, Seth Rollins tweeted Mary COVID Christmas to me. I got COVID, all right? Can't hold his baby on Christmas, all right? Yeah. Fight from reporting that WWE is no longer requiring wrestlers to get tested for COVID, so this is kind of their work around their. If we don't get tested, then you don't have it, so. Let's make sense because they're pay per view right now is in jeopardy. But probably, really. And then PW inside reported that Vince McMahon, Bruce prichard, Kevin Dunn, Michael Hayes and Adam pierce were all absent backstage for Roth. So the producers got hit bad with it as well. And that's again, while we didn't have Vince McMahon and Austin theory, like hopefully Vince forgets about it because, you know, he's almost 80 years old. Yeah. And, you know, by next week, it'll have been two weeks. So maybe he'll just forget. Right. What's your fingers? Awesome. We'll walk up to Vince next week and be like, all right, so what do we do in this week? You're not my Austin. Also on Christmas Day, Charlotte Flair posted a couple of photos of herself and Andrade together, so it looks like they got back together or never broken style. Or whatever. I mean, that's what it seems like 'cause Andrade unfollowed her, deleted like all the pictures, so it seems like they reconciled. And she still honey, I couldn't find a woman that was mad enough to be. So I'm not. Oh, I realize, no, that's you, yeah. Yeah. That's why she's still doing his fucking moves terribly. Yeah. Right. Last thing I have for news was WWE released their top ten matches for 2021. Oh boy. This is always fun and upsetting. I'll Owen reverse order. We'll start at number ten. Ready? Yeah. Okay. Number ten, Miz and Morrison versus Damian priest and Bad Bunny at WrestleMania. This is your best match. With a celebrity match. This isn't top ten best WrestleMania matches of 2021, right? Because then I can see why that would be number ten. Right. But that's number ten. Number 9, the men's war games match on NXT, you know. I mean, it was all right. And then number 8, Big E versus Roman Reigns versus Bobby Lashley on raw. I remember the match I don't really remember much of it, though. I remember Roman one, of course, but yeah. I think it was that memorable. No. Rhea Ripley versus Charlotte Flair at money in the bank. I don't even remember this match. I think that's where Rhea won it back. Yeah? Maybe. Or maybe she? No, that's where Charlotte won it because then Nikki cashed in on Charlotte. You know, it's you later. Or no, like a few days later. I think the next night, it was the next night I think. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. All right, number 6, Roman Reigns versus John Cena at SummerSlam. Okay. That should probably be higher, I think. I thought that was great. Yeah. Number 5 Becky Lynch versus Charlotte Flair.

You know i mean there's that i just see it as this kind of i A great example of that was that. Chris masters comment after he got suspended for four muscle enhancement on the wellness policy. He comes back and he's thinner noticeably because he's not taking a bunch of unhealthy legal stuff and hunter makes fun of the fact. that is suit. Looks a little loose on them on television. And like you know. That's just so unprofessional. In so in so many ways. It's unprofessional and so there's hunter you always make people during the day That's another thing with like you know the company portraying themselves as like. Oh we're great. People were telling me is just knowing how he treated people one hundred scenes but also on tv and taking out here there. And i mean. I i always felt really bad for these guys. Were working their asses off and he would go on. Tv until the undertaker and a promo that he looked around the locker room and saw nobody. That's up to his level and that's why he wanted the entertains like wait. Aren't you the guy that's like in charge of talent development and when the roster walked out he Remember that when they protested and the roster walked out. And here's the ring saying you gotta had a better match with What broomstick than most of those guys. Anyway just burying the the talent. Just do that. Why not you know Just everybody is just always chopped down to make him look better and the phrase with undertaker was the last of the smashmouth wrestlers. I think it was a term And i was just like wow. Here's a guy who's got to charge of the company with next generation wrestlers and he just told all the fans when you see me and undertaker wrestle. That's pretty much the end of any relevance in this industry. 'cause everybody who comes after us is so small compared to us and in that. Yeah the assembly. I think i was in the building for that That everybody out on the stage and he took a dig at rob van dam. And i just shook my head i was like i can't believe what he just did undercut. Just cut the legs out from rv and aaa. There's good and bad and everybody some you know. The ratio was different with individual people but hunter shows that side of himself. A lot in ways that i think are our productive. Check out our new twenty. Twenty one torch vip podcasts lineup. Including everything with rich fan hosted by wade. "About being graded person As far as being there for the experiences i wouldn't. I would never look at a ring announcer and things like they did anything. Aside from the pocket schedule one. Paul i would never realize how involved they were and how much they saw at nuke firsthand That's why i just think it's cool to to put that in a book and just talk about what is like to be a little. Reagan is not a book about. I was are ringing. I'll try was good or bad. And i would say the following who's schuster story about Feeling that role but being wrestling bad and say okay that look cool cool waiting to get the door and then hopefully that that's awesome. I'll ask you questions before i go. Why do why do you think triple h doesn't like Triple h is Berry very complicated subject. I think my opinion of him is. He is very very very insecure It needs to be told agree. Is i personally. Think he sabotages the current product. And the guys like louis guys to with the can and cannot do because in. That's not great that it's project we're full control could just be like. Wow this is great. This is this is the way it should be this adventure blake. You're the best He's a he'll that he's a baby. Say that if he'll be like within the same day i think he needs to be constantly Put on a pedestal. i think Everything is just kind of about him. I mean he came in. I watched it a couple of weeks ago. And i saw just single like took out their guide and And then like go them. Kevin kevin's great. I love to see. Kevin be ninety second championships go.

"Justin. I appreciate your time. We'd love to have you back on the show. I've got notes of other things to follow up on an ascii about and when your book comes out. I think there's going to be talk on. Feel like if my answers you would been no-no just i've just inquisitive and i just i just i. I did three and a half hours with pallbearer three times in a row. I'm curious about this business forever forever curious. And you got to observe so many things and i have a lot of wrestlers. I need a lot of writers but you know bring announcing is a is a different category. So it's a whole fresh magic questions and then you were there for so long and you're you're a lifelong fan and share a lot of the same experiences as me. About ten years different. I was a fan at the same age. But you know a kind of a ten years earlier But a lot of the same experiences you know your ultimate were experience with my experience with the crusher. I went to a auto part store on saturday morning. For an autograph session. He either he was hung over or didn't want to be there or he was just a jerk but it was a little wakeup call for a twelve year old. Going wait a second. I thought this guy liked everybody was a hero and he was grumpy and it was a big part of his. The hardest thing about those guys is because when you meet somebody who plays a superhero on tv or in the movies. It's an actor. At you know the character they play when you meet wrestlers in person. Then that like that's the actual will die that that you watch religiously and it's hard for them to always be on because i i learned firsthand about how stressful the travel is. Unless you've got it you could never understand what that travels really like so Those size do a hell of a job Being twenty four seven. They're they're accessible. And i usually once in a while it might be a really really really crossed our patch and you catch them at the wrong time and overall those guys are so good.

"Vip member from south. Bend indiana justin. What was the job like at the allstate arena for the money in the bank. Pay per view mate vent of sam punk versus john cena. I came over as purely electric on television. That was one of my top matches in the post attitude era. He's got questionable with that. When you talk about moments that you remember and you talk about all the matches you watch. And yeah i mean they become a blur. I'm a kid. I remember thinking. I bet these wrestlers remember every match. They ever have in every finish when you're eleven you don't have as much history so you you know first of all when you're a kid in your eleven you don't remember being four so you have like five years to remember everything and everything is new and also a lot of a lot less big matches back then because if you think about it he was Pay per views. What once a quarter. So i could tell you the the lineups and different things that happen on all the papers like ninety one ninety two ninety three but if you ask me to name anything about you know backlash in two thousand three i. I know there became so many reviews and so many shows. It's hard to take out. But he just brought a money in the bank. And that i just mentioned was one of my favorite moments The it was really cool. It was so different it was Sh- everything surrounding. It was really cool and then to be in chicago in the rosemont horizon which that arena smaller. It's definitely a smaller arena. But it's also got the chicago thin and this chicago pens are among the best and standing in that rate with everything that was going on bonds and in the storylines and punk music. it's and seen as music hits at plays was incredible. I think pumpkin come up first and the engines was awesome. And he's just sitting there the music playing the crowd's going crazy and then see plays goes crazy again. It's just everything around that you could just feel that in the rain And then again. Back to what i was allowed to do and allowed to do wasn't allowed to to give the appropriate introduction so sometimes it would be okay. That'd be able to get away with it sometimes. I couldn't it just depended where i was with the company at that point You wanna give a huge introduction for punch you wanna give a huge introduction foreseen. because that's what goes along with it that's finish the atmosphere that's the characters But sometimes you knew that you had the head coach on and you were allowed to give that huge introduction that would be fitting for that moment so i hope. I never took away from that. It would be hard to But sometimes i'd be allowed to give a good introduction. And sometimes i wouldn't so just you know that was. That was all part of it. I just feeling that night. I wanted to give huge introductions because that moment was like no other before we get to anti second question. I wanna ask a follow up on that. How often did you work with or here from wrestlers themselves about how they wanted to be introduced. Did you ever add an inflection to a name and have that wrestler tell you afterwards i love that or can you dial that down a little bit or accentuate this aspect. A little bit differently. Would you believe me if i told you that. I can't recall anybody. Ever bring it up about their introduction Interesting i've been asked me from this tonight. 'cause my actual hometown or hey can you to fit this in like we tried getting like the big guy in farai back i would throw little things I would joke with curtis axel. Because i would whatever reason just like us a minnesota accent when introducing him from minnesota. We would joke about that. But i don't think anybody was ever like he. He do that again or you. Which is it's crazy but it's true but no no protests either. Nobody gone You know like being overly critical or being talked about bullying. And i know you're talking. Mostly about management But did you ever experience wrestlers looking down at you or being dismissive of youth treating you like you're invisible or in the way like what was the attitude of in general or maybe you can't speak in general because there was such vast differences in how wrestlers treated non wrestlers who contributed to the show on or off camera. Oh yeah when. When i first came in it was bad it was totally different. Era back then Anti bullying campaign going back that that was a much different time. But yeah i I eight eight dirt for a long time But even even as even as time went on there still always that hierarchy of you know really your ring announcer you don't take any bumps And that was the mentality and some guys thought that way. Some guys would say which i can see it from their perspective. We're going in there or killing ourselves every night and you know you just what do you do But then other guys would say. Hey you're making all these sounds you're You're on the road night after night city. Three different cities three countries in one day. You're you're doing the deal your hotel hopping and different rental car. Hotel different You know whatever every day You're in the trenches with us so it just it depends on the guy. It was more of an old school mentality. Where if it was your ring announcer. And then i think it's time went on And it became accepted into..

"There's a fast turnaround to get your fix so check it out. That's the wade. Keller pro wrestling post show. Just search wade. Keller you can also stream the show live at wade keller polls show dot com about five minutes. After the shows end on monday wednesday and friday nights. All right i'm joined by justin roberts longtime wwe ring announcer. Justin put a frame around the years that you worked for. Wwe because it was. You were like do you think of it in years. Do you think of it in wrestlemainia numbers because my wrestling dates kind of go between comparing two years and comparing it to the era based on the number the wrestlemainia number got to put you back on. Hold on there. Yeah i will media-wise they That was a whole roller closer. As far as wrestlemanias. I was i was there for some but not on the show so i started in two thousand two and then left in two thousand fourteen spell How many resumes did you do. I started at twenty three detroit and then left it after thirty and when you talk about a roller coaster of doing some not others. What does that mean I was supposed to announce at The one in los angeles was at twenty one. So i was. I was brought into that one and then Pulled that morning and then this. Oh you're gonna do it next year. It was cool chicago down and then That didn't happen. I i wasn't even that one and then twenty three. I came into do the east. W batch okay. Okay people to know. There's politics in professional wrestling among wrestlers. They know there's politics among people in power and the booking area i know there's politics among producers who produces which match which talent this guy's not do i've heard from different agents and producer of the sky. Sox guys go this. Guy's phone and get in this guy's really engage. Be giving bad advice hub among ring announcers usual were. They're usually more than one. Ring announcer at at house. shows obviously just wondering announcer. But how often did you cross ring announcers at at big shows and were there politics. Did everybody go along and kind of like flight attendants you know you got a little bit of the flight attendants when i was a kid and she would be on that phone trying to get the good flights and but she was friends with so how did that work So i was the only one of the house you and then I be on tv and less. It was when we had the split brands. if we have combined show But have the other ring announcer there Whether it be tony the time we're lillian line and then at paper views Sometimes you would have one or two other announcers A lot of times we were told would announce what and then a lot of times. They wouldn't tell us and we would kind of ba guessing all day on who else in what and You know i. I was just happy to go out there and out I just to do an ounce. So i i didn't you know whatever matches ahead i had of course. There are certain ones that i hope for. Leo's wanted undertaker's matches because like doing that introduction. I was like the character like doing that introduction. That was always my favorite But i. I'd never say i want to do this do that. So i just a lot of times. Like lily would talk to kevin and then she would say. Oh kevin wants me to do. This and kevin wants me to do that. The problem or remember doing to to the troops and she wanted to do. There are a lot of matches that we're not televised. And then they're like a few matches that were televised and it was. You know all. Do you believe it should has been televised. I just i didn't care. I'll knows whatever so i would announce whatever either she didn't wanna do or whatever we were told to do it. It worked itself out of me. It was it was more questions. I'm gonna wanna get to another call. And before i take up all the time with all the questions that i have for adjusted. Let's go to seven eight next as promised seven one eight. thanks for holding. Please state your name and where you calling from angeles. This is mike from brooklyn. Hey mike what's going on with Sniping say you want you know with the you know the end no politics salt giant which is very interesting on justin and that time then like what was like the the the one talented all female female. Whatever that you saw that had incredibly essentially included have been money that you some people like. When are they wait. The tunnel there and then i got another question. I can't pick out one. There's a lot of talent. But i used to watch guys and girls and think man they are so do or they would do stuff that started getting over and Prague was behind him and then they were just get told told do that again. Or don't say that again and There's a a lot of guys groups who were really hard to get to that point and to get something that was going to work for them and then he just They weren't chosen chosen one. That was allowed to get over. So you know politics kick in I really don't do a lot of interviews. Because i'd seems like because honest The the negative things come up. And you know i don't mean to be negative. I just at the truth in it is that there's a lotta guys grew good and Weren't allowed to be. But that's my mike. Okay here my Last question that's being ring and they will was the you know match on a few matches that she was like his. Not all like that is blue your wages sitting that you know backhoes and seeing you know political show many Thank you good questions of so many matches of because people would always ask me. What was your favorite match. And i would say i. I'm seeing maybe eight matches night for at least four nights a week every single week for all these years. You're seeing a lot of matches and obviously the The the big. The big story matches on pay per view. Like obviously those are going to be big. They're gonna go all out. But i mean ray mysterious as inborn going at it in tokyo in front of just a live audience and so many house show matches where they guys who just go out there and kill themselves and good on an awesome match choosing incredible matches every week. Because they're always trying to raise the bar so it's hard to pick out this school like obviously you know pumpkin seeds for money. The with everything that was going on. And take her. And sean There are a lot of really cool. People rematches matches and really cool role matches but just how shows those guys are killing it every week. They don't mail it in ever. All of those guys and girls are incredible. And i was saying incredible matches every single night.

"I think that was part of it. A little bit of an ira that there might have been some some bold hypocrisy to the public image versus how they actually conducted themselves at times. Yeah yeah that. That's a lot of what that was In the thing with with connor. And you know i talked about how in my opinion thoughts i. They were exploiting him of they. They were playing that video before the The foundation was there to donate which Later on when you watch that you've got to be end of it and there'd be a screen to to donate make a donation by sending a tax so great. You know you know. I remember that message donate which is great but before that There was just showing the video to show it and by doing that. it's it's saying. Hey you know look what we're doing and what we did There wasn't a motive for there wasn't taking donate your healthier showing fence at a at a house. Show as part of a lot of the guys agreed on this And in fact as we come up to me you go to these shows to escape reality. I mean you watch the news and you just go through life and there's constantly all this bad stuff going on so you wrestling show. They're going to be. You just want to be entertained. And they would play the video Three matches in and then the crowd would be depressed. And sometimes you'd see a child who might be going through Something similar to what was going through and obviously the video doesn't end well and you just it. It has some of the guys that come up. It'd be like hey. What do you think about if they played that video here or if they play that it would be discussed but That was just it was putting it out there and yeah yeah no. That's interesting. I wanna go to our bottom of the hour break when we come back. I wanna do some follow up on that. We'll get.

Please state your name where you're calling. Hello guys you got for justin. Well I just wanna say is pleasure to speak to you. Make your rivals. I actually do enjoy your ring. Announcing over the years They know know about justin as long as you know the whole next. It's been beijing happening. Was they about with a tie because many feelings towards brands of doing that accurate. Or what was your thoughts about. It's not at all zorro. I saw that came off really well. Everybody was happy with it. I was happy he was happy. Extra sappy vince was happy. Everybody was happy that i there wasn't anybody who said anything bad Everything i think came down probably the next day or the next couple of days. And that's when they did what they did but that night that it happened everybody was school. What is your understanding of what triggered the the reaction then at on delay. If everybody was happy with it tonight had happened. I believe i heard at the time. It was something about a sponsor or sponsors and it it looked bad for the inova companies image That's what i heard. I don't know for sure. All i know is when i found out that he was fired. I thought what are we going with. This story. line wasn't storyline so it was very surprising. I have everything else. I was that. Go ahead fisher thought justin. I thought tonight back to damian. Go ahead as it's going to say i. I thought it was surprised to he. Didn't like break existing rules. it was. Yeah so things that it's like. Oh well you can't do this okay. Like it was a lot of times. They'll make rules after something happens. And that's what happened so it. It's up at the time and believe me i e every show that i did after that i would walk out and people would scream at me and tell me that i got him fired and They would chant for daniel bryan. I'm in the ring thinking about like. He's like danny o'brien i'm like. I'm glad that they're chatting babe you know. I hope he'll come. Back and people people tell me ringside like you got down there bryan fired and then i would ask questions about. I'd be like really. How did i do that. Were you told. Vince mcmahon that he choked you and everybody had a different take on the story in a different opinion on it and That it happened that way but at the same time worked out really well for him because he did so well in that two or three month periods when he did the in. Dc can work wherever you want it and He did really well and then he came back into a main event at somerset slow. We're gonna welcome absolutely did. Yeah damian. Do you have any follow up for us. Yes i do Now just in chile Alcorn w w meet someone Pediatric cancer where everything. We kind of cure need program now. Joe left accompanied by wages me. You pending articles regard with death. Maybe tweeted about being if your business would you more in the moment was you wrote the article or being feeling differently about that today. That's all i have a a question. i mean it's a deep deep deep topic for me. Do what feel differently about it. Now that i i don't change anything that i said because i didn't say anything i put out my feelings on it at the time and i think I having read what i wrote. That was a long time ago. I haven't read that recently of sure if i did read it at not much changed As far as like you know for counter skier I know that this month or the raising money. And everything's going to connor sphere and you have an organization that is raising money for pediatric cancer. Other giving money to families in need Is named after conor You can't say anything bad about that. That's all good so you know that's good as far as going back in time there. I don't think i would change anything again. Having read it for well but Pretty sure what i said back then i would say nothing has changed and you know i'm happy that they're trying to help the cause You know generally speaking and raising money. That's obviously yeah. That was that was the topic. You had a lot of passion for. And i i was. I was critical of an having critical of wwe for some time seeming like they are doing charity in order to boost their corporate image instead of doing charity. More quietly for the altruistic reasons. Stephanie tweeted somebody a corporate executive at a speaking engagement conference where he talked about. Philanthropy is future of marketing and really kind of turning charity into something that you do it. The perception was you unabashedly. Do charity work in order to boost your corporate image. Because that's what wall street likes because it makes people warm feel warm and fuzzy about the brand and and and it can help profits how much i wanna be really fair to wwe. I always do not just on this special occasion. I always want to be fair to them. But i'm also going to be critical of them when i think it's deserved in fairness to wwe. How much charity work do you did. You observe that they were doing where there wasn't a public patting themselves on the back or tout- touting it publicly obviously corporation corporation national most corporations that are large charity work and we hear about it sometimes but if we don't hear about it then we don't know that they're doing it and it's kind of a catch twenty two. how much. How good of a grade would you give. Wwe in terms of quietly going about doing work in the community or boosting charities or that aspect of things that didn't end up as high profile as hey everybody look at us in the great corporation that we are. I think through the years. There's always been charity going on You know make a wish is always been a partner and the guys and girls are so good about doing all that as far as a company saying hey. We're gonna do this do that. I think it was always going on. But it was just more recently when they started putting more emphasis on it and making it more public thing and having This go on. Go on and i think one of the major problems was a new. How people were getting treated inside the company internally I knew what was happening internally. I knew how people were really being treated but then on the surface it like. They're doing this and they're doing it like their abilities. There's no dancing around that they were and they love that kind of entertainments and so then they started an anti bullying campaign. And you just look at that and say wait a minute. you know. they're they're bullying us around and then they do this about you know. Be a star. Don't be well and it's like wait a minute that and then I just like i talked about in that block. Certain certain treatment Guys who had been there for thirty years or so and How they got treated but then on the surface it's like no we're great carrying organization. Look what we're doing So it was more like. I don't know i don't wanna say calling them out but it was just like come on guys..

"Calling. It doesn't matter but that's the number. You call kay that's number one. That's number one number. Two reina's another number eight four four five three two eight one seven. That's only for ryan. Okay now also. We got a bank as they call it in the radio is we got a bank of phone. Lines a finite number of them and so if they're all full it won't work when you call them saying so you've to keep trying because when someone hangs up then another line on the bank will open up then you can call that clear Right no. I'm not going to honolulu i even though he's first in line here. I can't handle it the other day. I'm gonna go to Tony here you're on the air. O'brien welcome back mike. The homes and gebrselassie's brian. I'm very disappointed. Disappointing you in your observer radio dave last night that you didn't mention this as pro and seth rollins segment. What do you want me to say about it. I hate this character. Not no no no not that these seventeen. Different camera cuts in one brought attention to that. I pulled it easy. I rewound it. And i counted one two three four. It was the worst kevin dunn being kevin done. I've ever seen. I don't know about that but something it was bad quick One more question so. Aws has a fourth show coming on announced on tnt in addition to dynamite and allegation and dark so in a pandemic situation. This is fine. But what do you think. Aws going to do when they go back on the road and they have to take four different shows. How do you see them doing that without doing something. Like brand split. I don't even know how that might even be possible with four different shows and to national television. Well i wanna thank you very much for the call i mean. I don't know how much tape in one day. But let's say that they go on the road and they're doing a live show wednesday and they're doing a taped show on thursday. So if you buy the ticket you're going to get more than two hours. So maybe we'll get a live dynamite and then two hours of tapings and then you'll get a tape dynamite on thursday and two hours of tapings or maybe they'll go live every week and i mean there's a million ways to do this gotta remember like in the in the eighties. And they're not going to do this. But like w tv tapings were like eight hours long. Eight hours of squash matches. Can you imagine and then they stick around for one three minute maid event at the end of the show. I mean w when they do raw you get a raw taping three hours and then after that you get we got tape main event or something get all e on the shell. So that's what they do for free you pay for your money you go for four hours. So i think they'll figure out a way to get content and it's not gonna be. It's not like it's all wrestling. You know they can fill in the shows eventually with more video packages or whatever that don't have to be taped in the crowd. So i don't think it's gonna be too bad but there will be a lot. Yes it's not that difficult though. I mean for heaven's sakes it's you know you have the two shows that you're going to go live with your to bigger show dynamite and the other show and then yeah you tape. The other ones implicit to things open up. I mean you know. People are now used to even though there are pining to have crowds bag. At least many people are. We are used to having a closed environment. We're used to the gym environment now. I think more than ever. So while i would not make it the centerpiece of one of those other shows. If you decide to use q t marchal's studio and you have matches their that you insert into dark elevations or whatever as well as filming things there that you may use video packages and such. You know you have options there. So i think that's on the on the list of things to worry about. That is a very very low one. You know unless they do a scenario where they're going to continue to do a nineteen our dark and you decide to wear out your crowd before and after you tape dynamited in. What's the other show. Keep brain locking out what it's going to be the other. Tnt show leader note is going to be the has been announced so the mystery show the tv. A let's go to honolulu. You are not on the air. But paul in barber's ville you are. What's going on brian. I'm just decided. I don't want to be one of these fans that complains all the time i wanna be. I will call. If we're being fair here. I don't either. I'd like to talk. Yeah let's talk about the alexa bliss. Randy orton story line. And how. I think. I can make it better. Okay let's say that a Alexa the at the end of raw lights. Go out alexa. Bliss does one of papa. Shonda rachel on randy orton is wearing the mask and randy orton becomes a no selling monster and alexis explains she never loved bray wyatt she loves the and bray white has to come back as fighting baby face with no magic no puppets and he has to put down a monster that he created. How can you say you wanted to make it better. You'll right over there. Mike ryan paul bulb. There's nothing that saving this for me. I don't want to see magic. I don't want to see non selling monsters. I don't want to see alexa in her. Eleven year old schoolgirl outfit. I wanted to go away and never come back nine. I admit this is loni. But i'm from west. Virginia what we do here with baloney we fried up we serve on sour dough and we put some hot sauce on it. I'm not a miracle worker here. I'm trying to make them more compelling storyline than what the god. Okay right well listen. Politely gonna do go ahead. What the probably going to do is they're probably just gonna have great wide comeback. Have the fiend. Beat randy orton mania. And it's just gonna be status quo. Were just going to be doing the same thing with other people and it's kinda suck ball. I appreciate you guys. Got to remember. Paul's a big fan at your car. So lot of imagination but do i don't i don't want to see this feud continue. I do not want to see these characters ever again. I i don't either. But at this point i didn't hate the johnson thing in bray wyatt last year because it was so ridiculous at this i just want something. I don't care what it. I just wanted to be so over the top ridiculous. I wanted to be what everybody wanted. The fireworks explosions to be at the end of the eight of you match with jon. Moxley and kenny omega. I wanted to be just so insane. And then it all can disappear a least want that out of this. I have had to live through this. I've had to see randy orton. Spit up and had black and get burned with fireballs that magically. He'll see alexa bliss as a schoolgirl with jack-in-the-box sitting in a pentagram in a man lit on all of this stuff you better at least pay it off with the most ridiculous acid inspiring mushroom taking visuals that we could all ever imagine. Give me what i want. That's what i want. You better give me that before. This all just goes away. It can all be a figment of one's imagination which apparently it is for randy orton because the locker room is now apparently worried about him and apparently nobody else can see any of this stuff. It's just all in rainy. Ordonez vied for near thing you don't need to make baloney better. Just don't eat it. Exactly i agree with that and you know who probably agrees with that honolulu. But he's gonna have to tell us about it after edie edie on the air. What's going on not much fun. All right do it. let's hear it. Sasha okay so as a as a friday smackdown sasha basis still a. she's not. I'm starting to believe you're not in the thunderdome. According to the thunderdome host now she is still eight baby face and the thunderdome host wanted to see the. Sasha banks blink. I can send you the audio clip of the host saying well. How can i confirm. This thunderdome hosts. That could be your mother or brian. You're being truth or not being a truth or this into thunder it's the thunderdome host. I know this is hard for you to understand. I know this is hard for you to accept brian. But you don't be one of those people don't be a flatter when it comes to sasha banks in popularity. I didn't say that she wasn't a great wrestler i. There's no way there's no way that this character is a baby face. Good girl no eddie. I'm sorry i gotta let you go. I can't take more mike right. And that's what they said blaming this on mike. That's why you're not as good girl. That's why you're not the host. This is so in the line brian. This is not about towing the line is about reality. If more people lived in reality we'd have less problems outright honolulu you're next after bedford. Pa what's going on heavy question about allies. That's not your second hold on a second. Is this ryan and cumberland. Brian's letter bradley. I'm afraid you've got the wrong number. Stick around buddy. I'm actually gonna go to honolulu. Twitch david from honolulu to topics number one.
