"Brian didn't play. I think Kevin De Bruyne is quite a chilled out guy, so I imagine you play in the next game and hope to have a big impact. And Jesse Marshall of course sacked today one week after bringing in western mckenney from a player's perspective, how would you feel if the manager that brought you to a club is sacked immediately after the window closes? Does anyone come from native have you gone through that? You went from quite a few managers in your time. Yeah, I think it's 15 or 16 managers, but I only got recruited three times different places. It would be a bit awkward then. I'll be honest it'd be a bit awkward, especially if you're certainly like a long-term vision, but at the end of the day, this is football, isn't it? You can't expect everything to stay the same just because you want it to be. You obviously would have come to the situation knowing that the pressure was on. So I guess you're just going to have to enjoy leads, enjoy Yorkshire, and enjoy the battle that is going to be this last 17 games of the season. Enjoy Yorkshire in February, beautiful. Magnificent. Magnificent. It looks a bit big as you're saying. It's not ideal, but you've just got to put a smile on your face and crack on, aren't you sure? It's not great, but it's capable. The Pis are good. Oh, yes, the thighs all good. Out for a pint of nice peel or something. Give them a darts. Sure they might be. You never know. I'm gonna burn a Tuesday night and the local. Beautiful. No, no reckon. For Frank, setting with chips and mushy peas and bar oh, I'm feeling hungry. He

"Regarding the likes of Kevin De Bruyne? The next match. Always please. It'll be back in. Right. At some point, yeah. And we're quick. I think it's just a little message. You know what? Yes, you had a fantastic player. Yes, we all over you, yes, this, yes, that. But you know, it has to be better. And he thought that he could do that today and also win the game. Tons of it did when the game, not that we probably hoped. But yeah, he's hoping that he sent a message to de Bruyne and everybody else, but he'll be back. He was a guy that created the magic for Grealish for which looked like it was going to be the winner. At Old Trafford, and yet what he's saying is that that was good. But the other 8 minutes was way beyond the standard that you've said this football club. So, you know, as a message for sure. Does this second half performance? This is get the momentum going for city in the second half of the season, Frank, or can you still see them stumbling? You know, we so many times, you know, at the end of the season, especially in Chadwick, you know, my sister losing their talent or the frame of mind where they are and where they are almost invincible. I still believe that they can catch arsenal. I'm still wondering if the Gunners can carry on playing that well and getting all the results. I still have a question marked about that. And Manchester on the 8 titles that they got to the last decade of four of them, they were 8.9 and more than that. So they are capable of coming back. I think we shouldn't bury them too early. As a fantastic fantastic squad and you have two confrontation against the Gunners. After those two games, maybe you can maybe have an idea who's going to be their champion for sure. But you still have to give them a chance to finish first year. Next up for city is wolves this weekend at home. Just a reminder, extra time as always, it's available over on

"This final two thirds of the season. So it's a happy missing. You know, it's a weird one with personal reasons are recovering from winning a World Cup. This time in this World Cup is just so interesting. How people react because we're talking about the winners, well, how about the French, about the people we lost in the final, the people who say finished third are finished fourth, you know, people who lost in a quarterfinal and so on. You know, there is a lot of emotional baggage there will be associated with those players. Point which they're probably not used to at all. And I think one thing to say about, say, world cups and things happen, traditionally in the summer. That's usually signified the end of a season. So even though they might have won not done badly or whatever, everybody's off. So what we're going to say, Frank? Now, I think in contrary, I think when you lose a final or semifinal, you want to go back to work because you want to forget about it. So you want to put a white blank page on your book and say, okay, we lost it, especially the French. Looking back, it came back three days after the final. And it wants to erase from his memory that final. And what happened and he wants some bright future. So in order to get the bright future, you go back to the present and the president is training, working out, you know, playing games, and I think it's what I think, mainly French player wants overall. And if your manager sets you, you can have two weeks off. Would you say no, you want to come back. And because you mentioned yourself about the weather, the nature of the games themselves. Like, would you just want to come straight back in? Because from bat bay, you obviously, he's in a unique position because he's killing them for Paris Saint-Germain. You know, he's from that country and so on. But how about the players who are going to somewhere else, which they probably don't class as home? I would rather go straight after the losing the final go back to the game because I know that if I stay 15 days without doing anything, I'm going to get depressed because I will think about that what I missed that I couldn't become chapel of the world and I get upset. If I try and every day, you know, it's like it's crazy because I met some actors, for example, lost a sibling and being on stage at night because they needed to forget what they lost. And losing a final worker finally is huge. It's huge. Of course, it's not like losing somebody from the family, but it's huge. And you don't want to think about it because you know you don't sleep at night. Because you think about that, the mistakes that you made, you know, the goal you considered, being having a goal, going back to business, is what you made for. And you have to digest I the other side in the other way, the loss of a few game of your target and you want to write a blank page. He didn't lose in the final, but I thought he looked at Kevin De Bruyne yesterday, and it was a completely different player than we saw at the World Cup clearly happy to be back and imagine a number of players must be like that as well after disappointment at the Internet on the international stage. Yeah, I would totally agree with that. And I think for say himself and that Belgium side, you know, they were very much from underwhelming. I actually sound like a bit of a humble brag. I apologize for that. But I actually I was doing a charity event within recently. And we was talking about the World Cup and he was talking about disappointed they were. They sort of had a sense that maybe their performance was coming because the team didn't really adapt as much as it did as it should have done. And to add to it, the talk in the media was about how the players were fighting and so on. And he said, well, that wasn't the case. So even though he would have had that disappointment in terms of losing out, I think one thing about him is he's quite realistic, and he understands that they didn't deserve anything more than what they got. And for him, I think he did take some time off because he did give all their players a bit of time off after the tournament was finished. But still, they want to play football. They want to do well. And as Frank was saying there, to be honest, you realize what the key goals are between now and the end of the season. But man city are in second. They've not worn anything, which is what they're striving to do. You know, he's gone through and played probably two bad games, but I thought he was good in the third for Belgium. And now he starts, he played in a friendly on the weekend and then he's back and what a great first game back to big to be against the Liverpool to play in that home against Liverpool in the cop. You know, it's perfect. If you can't get motivated for that and for those games going forward then maybe you do need it a lot more than just like a couple of weeks off. But yeah, he's a spectacular to the fantastic player. And like I say, probably one of the best things about him is quite level headed and sensible and just wants to go out and enjoy his football play well, do the job for the team and then go on to the next game. How are you post World Cup? I was great. Guess what, 2006 is when you went to MLS? Yeah, I left and I left English for both to go to MLS, just as Frank was talking about, you know, when you win the World Cup, and when you lose you in a gas trip back to it, Motorola did big or did was qualify. We've got a point. We celebrated like there was no tomorrow. Right. If there was grip. We had a book. But then, but then yes. After we woke up, I came to, I just want to join the FC Dallas, but there was a big gap in between that and my eventually joining actually, I was to the point that I started preseason with West Ham. Right. Because I'd agreed and had signed with Dallas, but had to sort of admit and all that all that red tip had to be taken care of. So post World Cup went back to trying to be who spent time there came back, spent time in my family as I said West Ham even started preseason and I just started with them just going because of course I messed this is in full swing. The caramel cup drawer was made over the last 24 hours. I was trying to get a transition, couldn't do it. There we go. You should tell me. One of these games available on ESPN+ it will be

"Your first order. 20% off at Tommy John dot com slash gap. Tommy John dot com slash gab. Decides for details. All right, you know, deutschland, how about some quick hits instead? Let's go. Now we mentioned this before, Jules, but Germany going out happened because of Japan's two one upset of Spain. How did this happen? And what did you make of that cross? Was the ball out? The board was not out. Now I think we've seen enough footage to show everyone that what matters is the view from the top to see where the body is compared to the line. Now why is touching the ground? We told you a million times already and you still amazing me by saying, but no, look, if you look from here, the body's out. I'm not going to name names. But there's X pros. There's managers on television on my television going about it. Like, oh, look, look, look, it's going down. I mean, come on, really? Let me come on. Seriously? Come on, and yet, of course, it's about millimeters. It's about millimeters when was it John stones, kept the ball up from such your money and the Liverpool man city game three years ago or something and then city went on to win the league with one point. So football is a game of millimeters anyway. It's a millimeter for an obstacle. So this is a millimeter well done to Japan for an incredible comeback. It's very genius or is your fool? Well, in the first half is a full and in second half in his career, he's a genius. That's amazing. When you put on your good players, when you send cow when we talk about a halftime, guess what happens. You score goals and you play better. Word on Luis Erika. I've got an issue with that team. I have to say, I'm not sure if it was the right call to take off maratha and to keep the normal, for example, who I thought had a terrible game through the whole 90 minutes. And at times it's too, it's not vertical enough and it's too horizontal and it's too slow, but I still believe in him and I still love it. All right, we're on team lucha stone. Yeah, some folks mischievously suggest or suggested that Spain actually were too happy to lose their game to avoid being and to knock our Germany and to move in the easiest side of the Drosophila number to avoid Brazil and Argentina inside of the draw. What did you make of it? Come on now. Seriously? I mean, like I did with people in Italy saying, in fact, somebody right here, our colleague Google Sanchez also suggesting that I don't believe this at all. I do not believe it. It's so far from the way Luis Erika thinks that no, I don't buy this for one minute. Better to face the fact, they were bad and they couldn't score against Japan. Croatia and Belgium battled to a Neil Neil draw and there is heartbreak for Romelu Lukaku who ends the game in tears after missing a hatful of chances. Do you have sympathy draws? I do a bit. I understand you missed chances. I think everybody has missed chances in his life. Those some of them were big chances. This is someone who's not fit, who is not fit for stop, who is not much fit either. And I think to send him on a halftime because you're in trouble to try to save you and qualify you for the last 16 is also a big task. And I think he felt that pressure, especially because he was in fear. I haven't been maybe that extra second for the deflection or for when the ball can't react enough and he hits his stomach and then maybe it would have been there. That's the one where he hit the post. He had the good look. That to me is the mess. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I think this one could even kind of fake the shot and comes inside and score and there's no one there. There's no coverage. There's no defender. Yeah, they're bad misses. I can understand his frustration. But again, this is not where bedroom went knocked out. Not just in those last ten minutes when you had two chances. They were knocked out because they messed up massively against Morocco, for example. I love Lukaku, but Belgium based on what they did. They deserve to go out and that includes the performance against Canada. Exactly, Roberto Martinez continuing with Belgium is Beijing bosses contract was coming to an end anywhere and he said he was leaving. We saw that coming by still the end of an era. For him and maybe for some place of that golden generation. Yeah, it's only is and they're going to retrench. They're going to reload. I think what we talk about sort of production lines of talent, that's reboot all this stuff. You can not legislate for the absolute superstar. Further Kevin De Bruyne are being born. You can't do that. You can, if you're youth development is correct, have an assembly line of pretty good players and maybe among them, if you're lucky, you'll have a debris or a patriot or a muscala. It's as simple as that. But this generation, so many together in one go, probably won't happen again for some time. That's for Roberto. I hope he goes back into club management. You wish. I think he will. Morocco, meanwhile, are through as group winners defeating Canada Q one. Hakim Zia once again, the difference maker. Yeah, not just him. I mean, yousef and nisei took his goal really, really well. We saw his dad in tears in the stands as well. I think he's an amazing story. And while he was born in bed, of course, the Morocco head coach is doing an amazing job considering he just took over the little zip just not long before this workout, but they play with belief, they play with cohesion. They play with heart and then they have special talent like Hakeem, like buffalo, and who's having a really good work. That's rari two, but the way we had lunch the other day, me and the manure. And producer Mike and mo as well and the much more familiar with just behind this. So well done to them and all of my Julia's from Morocco were done. Now I hope they can continue in this competition because it's a wonderful story and the fans are incredible. Of course as well. Talking about fans. Argentina Gabor also win their group after defeating Poland two nil. He gave you were there how did they look? Was that the best performance? It was your best performance out of the three, which is perhaps saying that much. I can tell you, after messy, missed a penalty, when I was actually happy, he missed the penalty because I should have never been a penalty. That was an uncharacteristic back call from a very good referee. Danny mcalee, even after going and looking at it on the VAR, but they kicked it up a notch in the second half, Alexis, my God, I started getting the start. I think he contributed something. I still don't understand. We shuffling his team all the time. Obviously, he's looking for something. I guess he's guided by form rather than reputation, which is a good thing. Maybe not a bad thing. A word on the Argentina fans or who told there's something like 40,000 of them here in Doha. I was incredible. An hour after the end of the game, I posted the video on social media as a two ends of the stadium. They're still there. If you're still there singing, there's still their dancing incredible. It is pretty remarkable. Yeah, it's amazing. Poland will advance, even though Mexico finished level with them on points after beating Saudi Arabia two one. Jules, your assessment of L three not making the knockout round for the first time in ages. Yeah, I mean, the LEGO Saudi Arabia, but before that, they would have been knocked out on yellow cards, which the fair play table. Exactly. Which happened to Senegal four years ago in Japan, which would have been cruel, however, and again, this is not in that game that they didn't qualify they lost the qualification is before by the fact that they opposed the game against Argentina in such a negative way, for example, that it could not be Poland in the first in the first game. We blame Tata martino in the last show. I'm glad that he's leaving because I never want to see him again. Nowhere near Mexico, not even on holidays in the beach somewhere because I think he made more damage

"Were there, yeah, and were you a little bit special? I was there and two Norwegians me and Irene baker was there were no Ellen Harlem, but the Kevin De Bruyne the Belgian was there. And again, remember, he did this against brightness well, the game wasn't too one. It was a bit of creating chances and he did a master goal there as well. So Kevin De Bruyne was, again, brilliant. I talked to Pep Guardiola interviewed after the game, and he said that I was a bit grumpy with him after the last game, because he said that he is not fulfilling his potential at the moment. And I asked the Brian about that. He wasn't, oh, it was like, oh, did he say that? But like he said, in different interviews, Pep Guardiola, I've been with this player for many, many years. They know how important it is for the team. And what is interesting, boys, and you may see that as well, because a lot of people talking about Ellen Holland wouldn't adjust to Manchester City or Manchester City wouldn't adjust to him. So it's quite interesting. Don't spend the time, some lazy pundits. Sorry, I have to say the same words again. But some lazy partners, no names, names. But it's interesting now to see that the discussion is now how depending on Ellen Holland. But I will say Manchester City have been there the two last games against Brighton and of course today. And you just get a feeling that these are the games that we need trophies because they get away with 6 points in those two games working hard for their points and Kevin De Bruyne being the big bit different for them to win those games. Nathan, this is such a weird game. If you like watching this match but first time you've ever watched football. You'd be saying, why aren't those blue players trying to score a goal? What's wrong with them? Yeah, but thankfully people tend to have watched games before. I think it's just interesting. I think I agree with what Jan is saying there, like four, four city, getting the 6 points when they're not at their absolute best. Those 6 points do matter. I mean, look at, say, Liverpool, they're not at their best, but they're not getting those points. City at the top of the table. And for some teams, I for arsenal now, they're under a different sort of pressure, even though it's so alien the season. Because now they have to leapfrog city by winning a game of football. You know, it's a different mentality. And they find ways to do it. It's not necessarily always perfect, but it seems to be enough. You know, whether it's a bit of quality from de Broglie like last week and this week, I'm not freaking ridiculous. It's ridiculous for you. Do you know the thing that made me laugh the most when I look back at it? Imagine the one view which we sort of forget about was James Madison laid on the floor just with his arm over his head just looking

"Have their striker now. Much like shabby. I don't think we've got the other has any excuses available any longer. You watch this team play and while it's clear to see the impact of wearing Holland when he's scoring goals, his presence in the attack in half and in the final third opens up spaces for everybody else. And if you give space to Kevin De Bruyne, he's going to take you to pieces. If you leave space to feel full and he can hurt you. You're not going to hurt you. But now to see what can hurt you. And you just go off and down the list of players that can hurt you. And that's perhaps where they are better than everybody else and that their possession will dictate the pace of the game, but the amount of players that can hurt you. Outside of early Holland, I'm not even talking about it early on. The other group of players, how much they can hurt you, I think might just a city has too many tools available. And indeed, they should be the favorites and rightfully so if they are at their best Manchester City, should win this whole competition. What do you think sleepy no excuses for Pep Guardiola? No, but I just, I'm thinking about there is something in the back of the city players minds. I don't think there's any question about that. And I've seen it. I've seen it affect great players. I joined the Liverpool. In the early 80s and they hadn't won the EFE cop. Certainly the group of players that are joined. Were European champions. But every single one of them wanted to win the FA cops saw badly. But for about four years in a trot, they got knocked out,

"Anything more than a bet by player at this football club with these players around. We can ask Angelo 24/7. Our course is going to PayPal at the same sort of stuff. Because at some point, hey what? It might need them, not that I think you'll do a great job from, but it might need them to keep briefing up the squad. But I think there is so much water has gone under the bridge with us at that club. I mean, even talking about a mess and penalties and taking penalties now and all this, I just don't understand it. For me, it is nothing more than a squad player at Real Madrid. And it will never be anything else and that's partly down to him. Robert? Well, we've just been talking about Vinicius junior has our going to come in on the left hand side and take the place of Vinicius junior. Is he going to play as the number ten as Modric does when he comes off the right hand side of that midfield three and gets him behind Benzema? Is he going to play as the center forward in place of Benzema, not really? Does he get the team up the pitch as Valverde has been doing in recent times or Rodrigo did to a certain extent last season? I think it's going to be a real struggle for this season as it was last season and the season before. I hope he becomes a top class player again. I don't think he will. Be interesting to see how Roberto Martinez sees him at the World Cup, whether it's because he's been a player. What'd you do? He's been a tallest man along with Kevin De Bruyne and I learned quite a few others, but I don't know. I mean, you'd never thought about a Belgian team really without and start line up. No. And that so called golden generation that we're going to go on and do great things, not happen yet, and they're all getting older and things are changing, but I don't know. I mean, if you're sitting on the bench and getting ten minutes here in ten minutes there, I don't really see how he can play or start for Belgium. And the real big game might start against one or two of the cannon fodder in the group stages. Maybe to get him some game time, but I don't know rob or can he play can Belgium be have a successful World Cup with a player on the team? Well, if he was fully fit and the outstanding party was two or three years ago, that'd be one of the favorites for the World Cup, but he's not that player anymore. He did start a couple of Nations League games that I commentated on in the summer and he did okay. Play better for them than he really does fight for Real Madrid very often. But there was one there were signs that he was getting somewhere near his form, but I can't see him really having an effect at the World Cup at the moment unless he comes into form and gets his fitness back. He's only 31, isn't he? It's crazy. Just a reminder, then a great Sunday for you in la Ligue. As always, every single game will be live on ESPN. What game are you doing, rob own

"I think he's one of these players where I think a lot of people will look at his stats in terms of his numbers touching the ball, et cetera. I don't think he's that bothered. I think you'll say 8 touches. So what? Phil Foden should have put him in last week, tap in. Phil Foden this week should have put him in again, pep was human. It feels fine. Because he's obviously told him they've done the analysis in the Bournemouth game 5 yard pass on in Holland tap in exactly the same scenario against Newcastle doesn't put him in. Cameras panned on pep, fuman. I don't think he's that bothered. I think he I think you look at every individual game and go. I hardly touched it. Yes, you want to touch the ball a lot more, so what? We keep winning. And I think that's to come. Holland is essentially a two footed player. He's got tremendous vision and awareness of what's around him. Obviously, you want to keep him in the central position. But in those situations where the opposition packs the box. Holland can also be somebody who moves around who joins into the it's not his forte coming short. No, but he hasn't been asked to do that before. No, he still young guy. He's actually better where he can improve because he has the basic skills to do it. Well, if you go back last week against Bournemouth, they played three at the back and they went really deep, so obviously there's no room for running behind apart from when the game got the stretch and Kevin De Bruyne are put him through. So that's the test that he's got. When teams are playing deep against him because he's best in my opinion when he's got his head down, lays it off, head down, running the box service. He's got to get the service. Two notable incidents, refereeing incidents in this game. One Kieran Trippier on Kevin De Bruyne. He comes in from the side is definitely high. It's at knee level. Referee gives a red card, BARs has taken over the look. And it goes down to a yellow. How do you see it? Red cart. I do. I see it as a red car because I thought in the cameras panned on keto and Trippier, and this doesn't mean anything in terms of the law, but he shouted to Kevin De Bruyne shot in Kev Kev, I had to take you out because you realize where Kevin De Bruyne was going to end up with he went past him centrally. Couldn't score going to create. So he had to take him out for the team. I just thought it was a little bit high. It was knee level. I thought it was dangerous. I don't think there was malice to hurt him. I don't think, but it's kind of where he gets his timing wrong. Yes. He can do some serious damage. He could. Because in a different scenario, you'd say to Kieran trip, if you're going to take someone out in that scenario, I'll be a little bit more cute, take them low, trip him up. I don't understand why he's so high, because if you're objective is just to trip him. Fine. That's why I thought red. Why go high? I don't understand. Not because he's bad. He just made a bad decision. He felt he couldn't reach him. It's hard, it's hard because again, talking about the biomechanics of the game or the type of tackle. He would have probably put his foot high towards his knee, then he was probably and this is moving at a million miles an hour. Of course. So you're going high, but you want to have the connection low and Kevin De Bruyne was so quick and so strong. He ended up catching him around the knee. So I thought the referee in real time called it correct. I thought it was a red card. Another one, I think we might disagree on this one. John stones on Fabian Shah, because I thought that's a penalty. I thought that should have been a penalty. I think is out of control when he catches him. I think he catches him with his elbow as well. You don't see it that way, do you. I don't I think it's one of them. For Newcastle fair, I know. I'm not, because I can sit here and be biased as you like and lie through my teeth if you want. But I'm just giving you my honesty. Do you think you think a defender? I think a foul, defender should be allowed to defend himself. I think if you give them gab, you will have in a 100,000 a game and 5 penalties, ten penalties every defender. I think a foul defender should be allowed to defend that. I think if you give them gab, you name. I always hear this argument. The same thing with sharp polio. If you give them, then you'll have, no, because defenders won't defend like. But it was a challenge in the air from a diagonal pass up, both players had gone up to try and win the header. And it's a contact sport the last time I checked. And it was an accidental coming together. I don't see that as being deliberate from John stones. I don't see it being a deliberate foul with a referee goes, that's a must, that's a penalty. I think there's a referee. Necessarily matters when it comes to giving penalties. I know. I know. But I always lean on. I always lean on as it delivers. You're so concerned about not wanting to appear. Just in favor of Newcastle. Now walk in life. If you want to go Kevin triple yellow card, actually play on and give new castle 5 penalties. I can lie if you want, but it's not me. All right. Regular listeners will know that we often focus on the Premier League on the big 6 and so on and for obvious reasons, but I think we need to talk a little more about Newcastle because when the takeover happened is that there's so much focus on the human rights concerned and stupid nonsense with people pretending that the public investment fund is not the sovereign fund of Saudi Arabia but whatever. I don't want to go down that route. But what was interesting to me is immediately people are like, oh, which guy, you know, they've got so much money they're going to go when they're going to spend and spend and spend and he hasn't done that.

"Got the talent to do it. Absolutely. That could certainly be a thing. He's got to stay healthy. And we'll see how he fits in in Darfur ham's offensive schemes. But I think he certainly could be. I have a good feeling about Anthony Davis this year. And the biggest thing is Kenny stay healthy. You know, so obviously that's unpredictable. We can't predict, you know, I can't say like, oh, nobody's going to fall into his knee this year. I can't predict that. But with the guys they brought in and darvin ham, I just have a feeling, I think Anthony Davis is going to have a good year. I think we're going to see a lot of Giannis style sets for Anthony Davis. I think Darwin is going to put him in that role. I think that could be a good thing. Let's see. Anthony Johnson says, could we trade Russ for nothing in return and use the trade exception to sign KD and Kyrie for the mid level? No. Kevin Durant is not a fridge. I mean, could you trade for Kevin Durant if you had a giant trade exception? In theory, yes, you could. You could absorb him. So let's say you paid who could do it. Well, Detroit could do it now. Let's say Detroit decided, no, we don't want Deandre Aiden. We don't want miles bridges. We want two future first from the Lakers. And we'll absorb the salary for next season. And we'll send nothing back to the Lakers, which would generate a $47 million trade exception. Then in theory, if you had something else, I mean, pretend the nuts would do a second round pick for coming. They wouldn't, but in theory, yes, you could absorb Kevin Durant into a trade exception. But again, you'd have to have something to send to the nets. And after you pay the pistons or whoever to absorb breasts a salary, you're not going to have that. You don't have the stuff to send to the next to get Kevin Durant. Kevin Durant, I think, I think if Kevin De Bruyne is traded, it might be the largest return we've ever seen because Kevin Durant has locked up for four more years under contract. So I don't think this is realistic, but just could this could you do those things in terms of NBA rules? Yes. Kyrie, could he sign for the mid level? He could. Is that likely no?.

"Point behind city, he really is no choice but to do something like that. What message does it send about the Premier League? And primarily a very good at the hype and we have an exciting last day, whatever. But again, I think a lot of it is where we're watching Kevin De Bruyne at these last two months. The guy superhuman. I don't know what he's going to be like in ten years time. Physically how he is, but you want to see your best players at their best. Enough with, you know, there's got to be a better way to do this. Well, I think something has to give. And maybe that's a topic for another day. Yeah, I don't know. But I do agree which I think either some competition has got to be caught, but I think we're reaching a lot of players who are going to hit the buffers very soon in their career. "And I did. America. I want to say it was a journey. You make it seem like I realized it. I thought it, so I did it. But it was American. It happens that easily. So this is like, this is like interviewing Macgyver. It really is amazing. But you're arm off. A beautiful thing that you said on the way that I loved because you watched your sister Sam when the World Cup in 2019 and you said, when she successful, I feel successful. But you also felt a renewed drive to be there with her. And the Christy newest research kicked off almost immediately, dragging a glorious underdog Houston dash to win at the 2020 challenge cup. You and the team were unstoppable. I watched with marvel. And the footage that came out of that locker room celebration after victory. This is me on a Tuesday night just to be candid. You're in lockdown. This was me, Tuesday night. But you know, you can't get in that position. We can fight. Christy mu is hit the buds, even harder than me. And without being challenge cup under your own, what did that moment feel like? Take us into that moment, that locker room. I will, if you do that pose right now in front of us. I will, but I may never get up. That moment was honestly unbelievable. I think that year was the first year with everything with COVID was happening. And there was so much question in the world so much sadness. And I think that that was just a moment that all of us really felt that joy that we wanted to feel all year. So yeah, I mean, winning that was amazing because I literally never win anything ever. Like I play and I try so hard and I never win anything. So this moment was great. Christy, one of your favorite footballers is Katie B Kevin De Bruyne, who was didn't make it at Chelsea. Some would say was written off at Chelsea slid back to the Bundesliga before moving.

"José Mourinho's role, my Brendan against Jose, how about that? I had to hold like silly buggers with the bottle of wine with Josephine. Tell them, oh, how did he find the super expensive? He always talks about how much wine costs. I don't whatever. I don't want to go there. I want to talk about Jose Jose's inserted himself in this question is not fair. Let's give credit to spurs because they be what was ahead of them. And I got to give credit home and said, I have to say, when he came to the Premier League way back, I wasn't so sure that he would have a impact. But he's been absolutely phenomenal and 19 goals from open play a whole bunch of assists as well this season, including your sister Harry Kane, who opened the scoring. I think home and so on is an unappreciated and I wonder, I wonder if spurs had messed around with noon or at the start of the season. And didn't have the whole Harry Kane psychodrama and he'd hit the ground running from the start. I think they might even be third or fourth on the table right now. Deserve the trophy. Barcelona beat Mallorca two one to break their three game home losing streak. Jules, this wasn't a great performance. But Memphis depay came up big. He's really, really good. I wanted to play more. Exactly. And we also saw the return of ansu fati. Grand news, he played on super the last 15 minutes. I mean, he came on and he had a big smile on his face. The crowd obviously was up for air and he was lovely to see. And I think Chavez must listen to our show because you said, play Memphis more, play Memphis more. He played him on the left hand side and scored a lovely goal, the board by Alba is grabber. His run was great. He was the best player on the page by far. But they didn't have to play well in this game. All they had to do is win because the others had dropped points. It was a big win for Barcelona. This is the most important especially after the really bad showing at home in the last few weeks, a well done to them. Great. I'm gonna take a little detour on this RPK coming off injured, but I've had a style question for you because people might have gathered you're more into style than I am a little bit. Piquet played, I don't know, I have noticed this before, maybe he hasn't done this in other games. But he pulls his socks all the way up, so it looks like he's tight. Jerry Henry used to do that. But in his case, they got into his shorts. Yeah, 'cause I think it looks weird. He's not particularly cool. He's cool. He's cool. You know who's the first one to do that? Do you remember sunny Anderson? Who played for Monaco? And went to Barcelona. He was the first one. Speaker always done that. And I never noticed if so. Believe so. We even want it hot. Yeah, even when he's hot. He's just cool. I was trying to do it when I was a younger. I couldn't go up high enough. No, they did, but then they kept falling down. I think the players want to quote special so they don't because they play an hour and the stock is still higher up the knee. So I think it's wonderful. Two goes on his birthday. If I describe some dude socks being above his knee is wonderful. Two goes on his birthday, 35th birthday from Lil benucci gives Juventus a two one win over venezia, gab, it means that they will be in the Champions League next season and we've got to see an 18 year old named Fabio Moretti make his first start and he was good as well. He was good. An 18 year old get in games at a top European club isn't generally news. It is generally news that you've induced because they have massively neglected their academy over the years. You saw Peter a little bit. He played somebody for about whatever. And then everybody freaks out when they make one mistake and so on. This kid, I saw him interviewed after the game, he's so sweet. He was so nervous. And it was funny because they asked him like, oh, so like, who do you model yourself after? And he's like, Kevin De Bruyne. And you could tell the minute he said that he's like, oh my God. Did I just make a mistake here? Insane Kevin De Bruyne, because people are going to think I'm big headed now. And I want and I think I'm Kevin De Bruyne. Then he said like, oh no, but I tried to copy look at Italy when I train with him. I very much enjoyed the zoom commentary of the substitution when Vlad which came off and killing him on a two one with ten minutes to go where they were laughing the head of basically allegory being so allegedly that two one ten minutes to go love it. Come here. We don't need you anymore. Off you go. We should not. I say, this is the kind of stuff that would infuriate me if I were you of a fan. You're playing venezia. Their last in the table, right? Yeah. You're going to finish top four. I know this sealed it, but you will finish top four. You might even finish third. Yeah. How about you show a little bit of God? It's a little bit of who you are. And so long. And you want to send killing on so he can wait for the crowd fine. Send him on for somebody else. Yeah, say bonus. He's birthday is called tour already. You could tell on his face. Nor should he be. Exactly. More woe for Atlético Madrid as they're beaten two nail by clicking Bilbao. Jules is beat these winter games in hand in a few hours, their lead will be a single point over 5th place, and in the last four games they play and chick, which by the way, is not a foregone conclusion. Real Madrid, where you might think, oh, they win the title, but we don't care about it. It's Real Madrid. Who obviously need points to finish top four..

"Feel very strongly about that. I go, remember, I forget what the game was. It might have been an international once this kid ran onto the page. Put his arm around him and whatever. I'm not gonna Blake was done around there for doing that. Obviously, you know, in the moment, it's a kid. But we have to do everything we can to discourage this. Because first of all, moments after the kid did it, this other dude was anything but a kid ran onto the pitch. It's completely irresponsible for these people to do it. I don't know what happened to this kid. I love it. We all had heroes growing up by all means make one of those signs, say, hey, bro, they couldn't have your shirt. Wait outside. And then it's up to de Bruyne to give you there's a time and a place for it. This is dangerous. It sets a bad precedent. I think you as a parent or whoever the hell was there with him. I know. You should have enough control over your, how old do you think the kid was? I mean, assuming he's not a very small adult, right? No, no, no. No, no. So one face any consequences. There's no stage in ban. You don't go to jail. There's no fine. If you're not age. I hope men city went to them, went to the parents or whoever he was. Not one of those like, oh, it's okay, it's so sweet. Oh, here's a Kevin De Bruyne sign. No, no, no. No. Kevin De Bruyne. And debris shouldn't feel under any up. Just give it imagine. He's at work. He's doing his job. Imagine the break in concentration as well, right? Yeah. So many reasons. This is a bad thing, not something to be encouraged. In fact, if you do have a little kid and you want to give him a shirt, obviously Marcus Rashford is a good guy to ask it from because he will give you a shirt. And as he found out, it's all united, right? There's a kid. Apparently plays in the arsenal under 9s, who, at least that's according to daily mail. Yeah, yeah, yeah. One thing that's why so too, because I saw Marcus giving the shirt as I was going down to go pitch side for the post match stuff. And then some mini Grinch takes the shirt from him. But this is the problem. This has happened many, many times. I know so many incidents where the player comes in, gives it to a small kid, and if you don't hold on tight, if your dad is not next to you, then someone tries to get a people love getting people love taking. He's huge now. But I mean, come on, this is a kid. Like, don't still don't steal from a kid who was given directly the shirt by Marcus Rashford. It's not like, you know, he throws it in a crowd and then we all jump to get in and then to people have at the same time and you pull and the one that put the strongest get it. No. He was in the kids hands. Yeah. All right, so. This is our rage. This is a disgrace. So first of all, well done Marcus Rashford because he said he's going to find a kid. He's going to give him a shit on their shirt. But I invite all 20 Premier League clubs, even the ones you're about to be relegated. You guys at CCTV everywhere, even in the bathrooms, for crowd control purposes. If you see this happening, name and shame, any adult who goes and takes a shirt or memento. No, that's crazy. You should ban them from the what kind of behavior is this? I know. I know it's crazy. In a game that featured four penalties, gab and a two goal Atlanta come back really late as well in the last ten minutes. They're not as good as they were talented. But they still very much entertaining. Yeah, anything can happen in the Atlanta games, which is why you do not want to be playing at the land for me. They came back. I think they're going to look back on the season. They did spend money. They've had their ups and downs. I got their praise. They are the love injuries though. We've had a ton of injuries this year. You know, you get close to the top and the question is, how do you stay there? How do you build? They've got this ownership situation as well, because Stephen per yugo, we mentioned of course, he is, he would have to presumably give up the Atlanta stake because presumably Chelsea Atlanta about qualifying for Europe, although you would think that may not next year. So, but I think they remain a wonderful story. And then admirable club for themselves. A few days after winning the Dutch cup, it was the Becker, I think, as they call it. Emerges that roger Schmidt is leaving Paisley Eindhoven to join Benfica. Joseph he could still win the double. Are you surprised when Eric said how we had this whole dance? Like, oh, no, what a win this first before it's an answer. I know. That's a united. We knew even before they announced it. We knew he had an extended his contract. Yes, and also he's been there two years at PSV. Clearly, he wants the weather and the food. He can't be happy in hind oven, and that's why he's going to because otherwise, I mean, he's got something really good going on right now at PSV, right? They have a really good academy. They've got a really good first team that makes them play really well. As you said, they can win the lignan. Imagine willing to double, again, this Ajax team, it would be fantastic. So you swap that for Benfica who are nowhere near right now sporting and I know they could live a little bit of a few problems. Obviously in the last 16 of the Champions League. But then this is in the haven't been as good. Nowhere near are sporting portal. So you swap PSV for that. So I don't know. Roger Schmidt at all, although I know people who know him very, very well, and people who work with him and have worked with him. I find this thing weird, not so much the leaving PSV Eindhoven, but you know, you're moving to, if anyone is, first of all, Benfica, you're choosing regiment with if there's one thing that Portugal produce and droves in general. It's coaches. Right? So many of the best in the world. I know it's trending. And you get roger Schmidt, who's a different outlook, different mentality. Doesn't speed the language. Doesn't know the code. You can pick it up. I don't know. No, I'm sorry. I mean, maybe you learn Mandarin when he was there. But I was wondering if you resort. You've gone on your way, right? "They are avoidable, even for the penalty. City had the ball to afford to have the ball on the left hand side and he tried to play something fancy and he gives away free kick. To encourage pressure when the game is at that particular point was a mistake and then full of poor himself, you know, it has flicks off his head, but the mistake is you've not made better contact because if you do, it's not going to hit your arm. So for them, you know, they did play. They did sort of become the architects of their own downfall, but I suppose for a pep is going to look at it and understand that it's a mistakes that kind of allowed Real Madrid to get back into the game. And in some ways, you believe that when you go on to the field next time, we've been able to deal with some of those and maybe not make them again. And I think if that's to be the case, as Craig was alluded to, when seats move the ball quickly, at times they're almost unplayable. And that made me feel they're really good on the front foot, but when you find the people like Kevin De Bruyne behind you, I obviously customer might be right for the second leg. But from what I'm hearing as well, I think Kyle walker can tell her and so I want to be going to be available for next week anyway. So I think it's just for them, they know their mistakes. They weren't outplayed by our armored by any point, and they'll be disappointed that it's just four three, but then the big positive is Discord four goals. They have a lead and they know that a win or a draw in Madrid gets them into the Champions League Final, which at the end of the day is the main objective to this round. We mentioned the absence of Stuart, did pep get the line off right for his side, even though he didn't have those players available. Yes, I think he did because he played zinchenko on the left hand side, which is his favorite position, and he got forward to a certain degree. So it was a lot sided back four with stone's plan as the right back. Is very much left footed. So I couldn't see aka plan at right back. And as Ned had just said, next week, Diaz will be a weak fitter because he's only just played the one game against Watford. Walker should be back and Ken Stella will be back. So it's a much better looking back for it and I think man.

"And Gotti era lights playing the time without a sender forward. So what Liverpool have to be very careful of at the runs of Kevin De Bruyne and the runs from gunderman. They're the two key players for me for man city when the center forward comes deep, the likes of Van Dyck, the lands of likes of konate, they've got to see those runs from coming from midfield Felipe did it for much of the game for athletic, the one Sammy made a mistake he came out on the wrong angle, de Bruyne gets in and scores. So the two center halves have got the key for Liverpool to watch those midfield runs. But I'm not sure it would change it. If Kane was playing for man city at the moment. And nadan will feel fold and start. It seems like he kind of asked me to be honest with the impact he had in midweek against Atlético was very, very significant. And in some ways, you could picture him playing out wide in this much in really going to take it out one of the Liverpool fallbacks. I think he did quite well in the game would you know that was the Anfield where city finally won for the first time in like 18 years. And overall, I think he understands the assignment. I think at times for some of the other city players, they are very good like even real Mars, an incredible season as a top scorer. But he won't necessarily take it as directly at somebody to say fold and will. So it wouldn't be a surprise if I saw him in the side. And I think that's going to be a sort of key battle because for some of those one on one efforts because we saw in the game Anfield earlier in the season because it was generally on a plane right back at the time and the questions should have been sent off for the files that he was putting in against them. So I think Phil Foden will likely start. For such a young man, it's good to see the sort of impact that he has in this side. Just to.

"He has incredible fortitude. Like, this is a guy who can make a howler, but doesn't like double down on it, like he will recover. He will recover in a game. And draw something out of the bag. So you looked at the spurs, he missed real personality there. Yeah. I liked what he said about Emerson royal. I think he's changed his name to Emerson doom. Yes. He was a super villain. You know, just on the back of his doom. Emerson or capitol is no trick spelling. All caps. You mentioned gamesmanship there and there was a moment in the second half which genuinely made me laugh when I was watching it. Because he did one of the carbon copies man city fowls on the halfway line on Kevin De Bruyne. That you've seen man city do million times a million times. You've got books written. What the hell do you think you're doing? And I love Kevin De Bruyne, but this was a rare moment of Kevin De Bruyne a bit I was just like, come on, Kev, Kev. Kev. I think the reason I think the reason that Kevin De Bruyne got so pissed off with it was because he knew it was exactly the kind of thing that he would have done in that scenario. Exactly. Imagine Kevin De Bruyne would be like, well you bite in. There's nothing. Can I say this? I love de Bruyne as well, but there are a few things funnier in Premier League football. I Kevin De Bruyne being angered at like obvious disrespect. It's one of the funniest facial expressions like what? What the hell? That was one other thing I wanted to make for the whole year that was really funny. The moment in the second half where he like, almost like a naughty child, like scamp is over halfway line on the left leg. It's like, can I do this? Just keep going down the left. Yes, yes. You know Moe, the little robot that cleans. Everything. Yes. Yeah. They will stick to this laser line on the floor. And there's one big way he looks around any kind of jumps off the laser line to see what is happening. And nothing happens, and he's just like that. I cried. This game gave me all the time. It's like this massive siren going to go after a load of red lights to get the start flashing if I went over the halfway line. Yes, exactly. He was breaking as well. I must say this was like, I mentioned this on Twitter, but I have to say, like Aston Villa leads before it, this is the chaos. Manchester City spurs is a chaos fixture at this point. It just is, and I'm here for it. After all the noise about around spurs in the last couple of weeks. I was wondering whether this was Conte's three arsenal when he was Chelsea manager moment. When he went to the back. When he had the bad result and went to the back three and that changed everything. Yeah, now obviously he's been playing the battery at spurs, but it felt like he made in terms of the shift. It's not really that term, but you need a kind of a wake-up call. Yes. And I wonder whether this interview, for example, and I'm playing completely speculating here. But I wonder whether this interview and all the noise around it in the last few days, whether he's used that and being like, guys, I didn't say this. This is what I meant. Look at you all. You are like really good players. You're a really good young player. You're coming through. Look at this team, man city. Look at their bench. They've got like 50 million pound players on the bench. Let's go to their place and do a job on them. And yeah, they absolutely did that and they deserve a huge amount of credit because with the run of fixtures that they've had and then the general mood about spurs that could really galvanize them. A lot you said this because the Conte thing, I think he definitely put pressure on him on his team, but also on himself. I think you needed to like start something to think about the three note defeat that's interesting because it's almost like he could say look. Tried one way, it didn't work..

"You were 5 foot two. You got your Fords and people like that who if it was a fate wouldn't last two seconds, but it's a football game. And they can pass the ball and when the opportunities arise, the majority of the time, then they take those chances. So listen, this is a football team. Nothing more, nothing less. Nathan is still with us. Nathan, city, a dominant from start to finish today. How much can you take from this performance? I think you could take a lot from it to be honest, like going into it as you say clubber were ahead of man city. They had a good result against PSG in the opening game. So you got a sense that it wasn't going to essentially always go cities way, but they got a feel for it. They were moving the ball well, and that Steve is alluded to there. You know, they have a style of play. When they get going, there is good as anybody, you know, you could argue that one of the best sides in the world. And they look so good, you know, as he said there to score 5 goals away from home in the Champions League. You know, if you want to move on from it, you can say that, but it's 5 goals away from home in the Champions League. And they could have scored more. And this is again without everyone looking for somebody with a 9 on the back who's standing in the middle, chest and the ball down and crane, whatever like. I've got to look at that team and just see from the first 30 minutes it was one of the best performances I've seen in the Champions League. And you can say it was a gays club burger, but the fact is, you know, they resort against PSG, like I said. But they moved the ball so well. And the scariest thing for me is, you know, some players who were key like a Kevin De Bruyne is playing okay, but he's nowhere near his best yet. So you look at the collective and think that they can still get that little bit better, but at the moment, you know, watching them, especially when fold and doing what he's doing, and they're like this so, so good to watch. And they deserved every single one of those goals and then some more in fact today. Yeah, and I've made them said a much better start than their previous away matches in the Champions League in recent games..
