"To be. But if it's any consolation colorado's not alone and seeing these higher gas prices in california for example as expected the average price is over four dollars a gallon scholar. Mckinley is the regional director of public affairs for aaa. Colorado schuyler says yeah colorado is where folks want to travel and as a result of that. Well we we end up. Paying more mckinley went on to say as travel. Demand comes back. Increasingly americans are heading west. Go west deng nan. Denver was in the top. Three destination lists over the fourth of july weekend. Americans are road tripping here demand is way up and were pretty far from supplies supply by the way hasn't come back on blind completely so we're higher than the national average. Mckinley said that other states closer to the gulf have lower prices because well it stands to reason. It doesn't cost as much to ship. Their kinley also said it's normal for colorado to have a fluctuating a gas prices. And that sometimes a gallon of gas costs less than the national average and times as we indeed are experiencing right now it's higher but there is hope in the not too distant future. Mckinley said that gas prices should start to level out. Should start to drop again after labor day. Once the summer travel season starts to wind down so in case you're wondering why colorado gas prices seem to be pretty high. Well you're not wrong. They indeed are eight. thirteen now. Thirteen ten k. F k thirteen ten. Kfi a dot com northern colorado's voice mornings with gail from the auto collisions specialists studios. All right yes. I was a little bit skeptical. Little bit jaded. Probably because i'm been banging around politics for far too long but we talked about this and my apologies. I wasn't able to referenced. The exact date but there were rumors coming out of the gold. Dome that governor. Jared polis couple of weeks ago Was thinking about ending the use of his emergency orders tied to the pandemic. And i don't think i was alone in articulating. The fact is we talked about that. When i said i'll believe it when i see it well apparently it has indeed come to pass this. After sixteen months under a declared state of emergency due to covid nineteen. Just yesterday governor. Jared polis lifted that order and all other orders tied to it now. Marianne goodland writing in colorado politics said that the original disaster emergency declaration was issued march eleventh. Twenty twenty seems like eons ago. Done it since then. The governor has issued one hundred and fifteen orders related to the pandemic and twenty twenty one and two hundred seventy one orders during twenty twenty most amended or extended orders on the disaster declarations and other provisions. Such as pases on trials a ban on fictions orders those ever rotating orders related to mask mandates and Closing down businesses throughout the state and the pandemic's earlier weeks of corvettes we saw that Continue throughout the ebbs and flows of the covid nineteen pandemic and colorado now in an interview with colorado politics. Police said that lifting the emergency declaration is something he sought to do as soon as possible. Adding governor pulled us did. I'm confident that the extraordinary powers. Oh are no longer needed. Let's kind of counter Some of the narrative. That i'm hearing i mean we're seeing These mutating variants of covid nineteen popping up. What with the delta now with the lambda you've got Many saying on a national level that look out fall is coming in. They're expecting to see Spikes once again in the numbers that might lead to mask wearing mandates. Not saying it is going to happen. But it is a distinct possibility but leading to indoor mask wearing mandates once again. I think that's gonna be a tough one. Don't you to enforce as we've gotten used to well seeing each other's faces once again and understanding that you know life is a tight rope between Public health and safety and a little bit of risk but have to wonder if we go back because again while the governor has lifted these emergency orders seems to me that they are still at his disposal. should he indeed the side that they are necessary. But would you be resistant to returning to masking up. When you're out in about well. I suppose i should say when you're indoors nine seven three five three thirteen ten. Drop me a text. Kpfk a to nine seven four seven eight. Thirteen o one. But i can't help but think that if those mask mandates come back down in the next few months but there's been a be considerable resistance to a return to masking up wild indoors in public places but house police said that lifting the emergency declaration. Something he sought to do quote as soon as possible. He added in the next breath that it's important to know that cove nineteen is not over two hundred and eighty. Two people are currently hospitalized across state with the virus now he did address that current delta variant outbreak in mesa county This happened during the country. Music jam That took place a june twenty four th through the twenty six interesting out of the closet. An outbreak to my knowledge I believe there were four staff and a thirteen people that had contracted that variant variant is surging in mesa county by the way but he said that local areas may still have their own emergencies. Referencing the fact that That outbreak of the current variant that delta variant is on the uptick in mesa county. But i seventeen and how many people were at that country music jam. I don't know. I'm not sure that it falls into in my humble opinion anyway. I'm not sure that constitutes an outbreak but Oh okay police went on to say those with higher. Vaccination rates are seeing much lower rates of covid nineteen. He said that unfortunately areas of the state at forty to fifty percent of vaccination rate is not high enough to effectively suppress the virus. Now it's interesting because of course as he did recommend that and this is your call. This is totally up to. You are for me to be the back scene police here. I would recommend it. But i understand. There's any number of reasons perhaps medical or otherwise that you have decided not to get the vaccine up to you but as of this week seventy point three two per cent of adult colorado have received at least one dose of the covid nineteen vaccines and. That's a good one of course. A governor poll is saying that we must remain vigilant those kobe variants and the state is managing the response to those challenges in partnership with a local public health infant entities but following this announcement senate republican leadership state senate. Republican leadership issued a few statements. Oh and by the way lifting the emergency order in state means that all other orders tied to the pandemic are now lifted but there is a caveat there that federal ban issued by the centers for disease control and prevention is still in place until the end of the month but senate republican leadership. Handle something something to say about all this. You had senator paulin dean of monuments saying this is something we've been advocating for on behalf of our constituents for quite some time now meeting we've had with the governor has been punctuated with an inquiry as to when he would finally finally lift the order and declared this pandemic over in the state of colorado. We're glad see. He finally has agreed to turn this dark page in our history. Senator john cook of greeley said colorado ins have main colorado. Dunn's excuse me old habits die. "Are suing to stop the city of fort collins from processing and application for the northern integrated supply project infrastructure in city limits. Now apparently these two groups save the putter and no pipe. Dream filed a lawsuit wednesday against the city and the northern integrated supply project. Water activity enterprise over northern waters spar. Now that's an acronym for the site plan advisory review application for what is a very controversial putin river reservoir project the complaint argues that spar is the wrong way for the city to review this infrastructure it seeks to terminate the spar application application. It also seeks to cancel the fort collins planning and zoning board review of the application that review is set for june thirtieth saved the putin director. Gary walkner characterized the lawsuit. As a way of standing up to defend fort collins citizens natural areas which he sad would degrade and destroy by removing water from the putter river. Mr walker nothing. If not consistent now at the heart of the dispute is whether nist sp which seeks to divert flows from the puzder and south platte rivers for two new reservoirs is an appropriate fit for the spar process spar again. This site plan advisory review process. It's a type of developmental review intended for quote improvements to parcels owned or operated by public entities. Close quote this. According to the city's land use code now spar compared to more commonly used development review processes puts the city's opinions e board in an advisory position rather than giving fort collins city council the final say on the proposal now governing board of a far applicant can override. Px's vote and proceed with the development over the city's wish is the pnc board must review aspire application within sixty days of the city accepting it the city actually deemed northern water spar 'application complete on may twenty first. The city went on to direct northern water to submit a spar application for components of this within city limits. This would be the putter intake diversion structure. That's a river version that would be located in homestead natural area this north west of mulberry street and lemay avenue and a three point mile length of pipeline running from the river diversion to the southeast actually passing through fort collins and unincorporated larimer county land as well as three city natural areas to include williams kingfisher point and river bend ponds now walkner for his part called the use of the spar process for nest. A quote crazy interpretation close quotes of fort collins land use code northern water doesn't own or operate the property where the nist sp infrastructure would be built though city staff wrote in recent documents that yes spar still applies because northern water intends to own or operate the property. The complaints also argues that northern water doesn't meet the state's legal guidelines for an entity that can overrule a municipal bodies decision on a development. The state gives that authority only to the city council of a city. The board trustees of town or any other body by whatever name known given authority to adopt ordinances for a specific municipality now wachner said the save the putter and no pipe dream groups. Hope the city will opt to settle out of court. A satisfactory settlement and his view would involve cancelling the june thirtieth hearing revoking this spar application and proceeding with development review process with city. Council would have authority over the project components in city limits. He went on to say. We don't see any way possible that we can lose this lawsuit. We think their case re referring to nist is extremely weak. So hopefully they'll decide to settle. Meanwhile city attorney care dagga said that the city is still reviewing the complaint and declined to further comment northern water spokesperson jeff stella and we're going to get jeff on talk a little bit more about this next week. Jeff stella affirmed that the water district a will continue to pursue spar review for nest as city sat staff. Indeed directed said we saw the complaint. We're looking through. Its we certainly believe that. Spar is the applicable process for this project. Now some back story on this which we've been talking about it seems like for decades nesper would take water from the puzder and south platte rivers to store in two new reservoirs those would be glade and gehlsen the former would be bigger than horse tooth reservoir at more than one hundred and seventy thousand acre feet it would require realignment of highway two eighty seven near ted's place just north west of fort collins. The project would significantly reduce peak flows and the river while ultimately supplying a projected forty thousand acre feet of water annually certainly water at a premium as populations continue to grow Not only in northern colorado but indeed around the state forty thousand acre feet of water annually to fifteen growing communities and water districts in northern colorado including for collins. Loveland water district and windsor. But for collins's review of this is not by any means by any stretch of the imagination. The last step for the project. The project is awaiting rather crucial record of decision from the army corps of engineers that unsuspected to come sometime. This year and affirming record of decision would likely trigger yet. Another legal appeal now to additional lawsuits filed by save the putter no pipe dream and save rural noko related to lehrman counties approval of nece infrastructure are also working their way through the courts. Will miss ever come to fruition. Your thoughts nine seven three five three thirteen. Drop me a text on on thirteen ten. Kfi text line closing in on eight seventeen now. "The sidewalk. Have you heard about this. This thing that amazon is launching. it's called sidewalk. It's a new system which aims to create a neighborhood. Why find networks across the country. Gee what could go wrong. Oh but the good news is. It's not too late to opt out a fifty two now thirteen ten. Kfi a thirteen ten kfi k. A. dot com northern colorado's voice. Yeah after months of delays amazon sidewalk will lose. Well just a few days from now on tuesday june eighth. What the heck is that. You may wonder well all compatible amazon. Echo and ring devices in the entire country will automatically log onto the new neighborhood networks which are made up of a little bit of every customer's internet bandwith. Oh aren't you generous. Even though amazon published a white paper with all of their public privacy and security information lots of folks on social media saying yeah. You might wanna think about opting out of it while you still have a chance. Otherwise you're amazon. Devices will join the nationwide neighborhood network so begs the question or in front piece out of nine news this morning will all amazon devices join amazon sidewalk on june eighth no many but not all will update their systems to amazon. Sidewalk amazon has dubbed them. Sidewalk bridges amazon says on their website that sidewalk bridges include many echo devices and select ring floodlight and a spotlight cam so What if you would rather not be part of the sidewalk. Well if i you want to opt out of the network You can do that in the settings and in the account settings of your alexa or your ring apps. Otherwise host of devices will automatically. You got no choice. There get the software update which launches amazon sidewalk. And they run through this litany of devices a lot of the a ring. Floodlight cams are included. In this eco third gen and newer echo dot for kids echo dot with clock echo plus echo spot echo studio echo impart and a yeah last but not least echo flex now the tech giant in its own defense says that sidewalk could come in quite handy during a wi fi outage if your router goes out your ring. Security as security cameras could connect to a neighbor's to stay functioning. You have dave levin system professor of computer science at the university of maryland saying it could also be helpful for devices on the outskirts of your property. He goes on to say what amazon sidewalk is trying to do. At least as he understands it is that they're trying to leverage. The fact that while you're devices might not have the best internet connectivity within your home sometimes they might actually have a really good connection to devices in your neighbor so or somebody nearby. Now tile blue trackers some of the first devices to partner with amazon on this new system. their trackers can be attached to keys and wallets and yes even fluffy even your favourite furby before if you lost your keys. Your tile wood search for a bluetooth signal and then someone wants. A tile app would need to be nearby for you to get a notification That they had been found now in theory in theory tiles partnership with amazon sidewalk would make it more likely to locate your lost items by having more active a bluetooth signals everywhere. Oh follow the money. It could also set a precedent for more companies to signed contracts with amazon to access. What's being referred to now as its new nationwide mesh network but Yeah it's kind of funny levin says if you're concerned about how much information amazon is getting than the fact that you have a series of microphones and cameras installed in your home that you are able to send that back to amazon servers. Well i think he says you've already sort of adopted amazon as a small increasingly growing larger part of your family. Eight fifty seven out thirteen ten k. "Eight thirty seven out of ten kfi thirteen ten. Fda dot com northern colorado's voice mornings with gail from the auto collision specialists studios joined this morning by he who must not be questioned. Kevin car fat guy at the movies that kyw's at the movies. Hey kevin how you doing good this name. That's what i wanna know. Well because i remember our conversation when we're talking about news. Anchors who had hosted saturday night live. And you're sitting there and you're and i almost feel those wheels turn in your brain you're like edwin edwin edwin. I'm like no was brian williams. You're like no no no no no it was ed. Newman you nailed it. It work credit is to well. What's funny is is. I was a. I was probably young teenager then when that was so. I never watched the news at that. I wasn't i wasn't like a news junkie or anything fourteen or whatever but still somehow that that stuck in my slabs learned my lesson no longer ever question your prowess thank you. I appreciate on that topic. Yes they'll be questioned all the time. I'm sure of course all right so we've got some new releases both large and small in theaters both large and small. let's start with spiral by role. Is the latest reboot of the saw franchise. If you remember that from about it's been almost twenty years since i came out. Yeah and it's fascinating. Because i when i when i saw the first installment of the two hundred and fifty seven installments saw. It seemed like there were that then and who was. Who was the actor. The play jigsaw copen bell tobin bell. Do you know that he always wanted to be a romantic lead in films and he winds up as jigsaw. Yeah i love the fact what i loved about. Tobin bell is him braced. Ed is did he. He he was he was just sort of the somewhat obscure actor handle a bit part in the firm. He played an assassin in the firm and he stumbled on this thing. And he's like. I'll i'll go with it i i. I respect that people who who they don't there's some people that just roll their eyes and be like horror movie but he it he. He capitalized on the chance. And that was great. Oh yeah he's certainly did but what was interesting. Is you know. I had that same. Take on the first of four or five installments jigsaw. No i would say on the first couple of once. And then i went. You know this is twisted very very dark but it's almost kind of and you might find this a stretch a morality tale. Well no actually i. I've i've said this before at least opens the first ones like you said. By the time they got to the sixth or seventh movie. Innocent people were being putting these tortures devices but there was this there was this message of. You're not you're not living life to the fullest or or you're doing stuff that's wrong or there's come up you're getting and and you may have to extract yourself violently out of one of these devices but you'll be a better person for it with that in mind since you brought that up. That's one of the things. I like about this new saw is there's there's a certain level of consequence that that comes from these devices now they take a different approach than than the jigsaw character. Originally jigsaw character was he had cancer and he said people were living life to the fullest and he kinda got people that are wasting themselves But it was a But in this one. You've got the chris. Rock is executive produce. Amy starring in it and he plays he plays a a a detective who As of course the kind of criminals don't like him because he's a cop the other cops unlike him because he had turned in another police officer for Doing something illegal on on the job and so all of them you know they're they're looking at As you know suspiciously and you know. They're call him a rat and everything and there is this new serial killer who is going after dirty cops and he's still trying to solve this murder. These murderers because you know it's it's at least trying to do the right thing. And so it kind of falls into that level of a police procedural which the first couple of saw movies had that to a degree. But this is a little bit. You know it's more sort of baked into the story like you would see like like tv show like a police procedural tv show. And and that's that's why. I think it kind of goes back to the well. It also gets the the director darren. Lynn bowsman directed the first. Well he didn't drop the first one but he's drexel like two through five or something like that so they kind of go back to this the saw movies history. And and and that's kinda why i what i liked the movie I mean it's it's violent it's uncomfortable. It's visceral graphic but it's some of you kind of expect that sort of get what's pay for right. Yeah if you love and prejudice and that your favorite movie. You probably aren't going to go on. You might wanna go find yourself. Around com part tobin bell neva part. And he may have. I mean yeah. Small quick and the dead to. Yeah he knocked around is just sort of a character actor for a long time until he until you've got this role and and But one thing. I wanna point out with this one is Ah chris rock. I gave him credit. This is. he's known for comedy and he's done drama before he did the apart new jack city and of course he was in the fargo. Tv show but This is this is a different role for him. He you know he has some funny lines. But it's almost there the funny lines that he just kinda throws out there and they're almost too real There's a darkness behind it but he plays a darker character at a a meteor character. And i'd like to see tim do more of this stuff. That's pretty cool. I like when they break type. You don't expect it but when they do it. Well it's it's fun to watch all right. Let's see angelina jolie. Those who wish me dead. Yes this is on feet and this is in theaters and in each on. Hbo max so you've got a choice with this one. Where does he. Because the warner brothers release and that's how they're doing all this stuff twenty twenty one i is. She plays a forest ranger who helps fight fires and as while. She's of in one of the fire towers. She comes across his boy whose Escaped in the woods and he's being chased by assassins who killed his father and she kind of takes him under her wing to try and save them now. I want to caution you on this. The being marketed as a big action movie. And it's not. I mean it has action scenes that but you know if you're looking for fast and furious in the woods not what you're gonna get. It's it's ridden directed by taylor sheridan and he he works on yellowstone and he did movies like helen. Hi hell or high water He also did wind river. he's kind of known for doing. Classic western motifs stories in a modern setting. And so it's a much more if you pardon the pun and so much more of a slow burn It's a much more of a character piece. So so if you're going just like lickety-split action that's not what it is it's still a good movie Maybe a little overwritten at times with some of the drama. But you know what you're getting into because what always bothers me is when you see a movie you're like oh they're not quite marketing that.

"And is expected to you. Have some democrats making moves toward Packing the court expanding the supreme court from nine to thirteen now. Nancy pelosi putting kind bosh on that at least for the time being but i think it kind of as the camel's nose under the proverbial tent This as nancy pelosi says no we have no plans whatsoever To bring this to the floor. This as a legislation was introduced a just thursday once again to expand the supreme court to thirteen justices. But well nancy pelosi san now. This is a battle that we just don't want to take on at this point in time. So we'll get to that brief history of court packing on monday fifty. Five thirteen ten kfi k. Got three to six ish Then there's pockets on the west side of the city that had They didn't get to foot. They had over nine inches in some cases so a lot of water in this one This is this is a good wet one so this is going to soak in pretty nicely. The next few days and and things will be green. Which will be good. That's always a good thing especially with earth day right around the corner. So what does the weekend. Weather forecast look pretty unsettled. Honestly we'll make catch some glimpses of sunshine today and tomorrow but still kind of under the influence of this pretty active pattern And that's gonna keep us big cloudy for the next few days. It'll keep up chances for snow the next few days and keeps us cool for the next few days now today. We may not even get out of the thirties. Probably make our way into the low forties tomorrow and then try to make a run at fifty or so for sunday now with this help with the drought This recent moisture It will help in in regards to maybe very slight very slight improvement. But i think the biggest impact of all is just going to be that it's going to help keep the drought numbers right where they are In and that next up they will come out next thursday And it will include this storm data with it. And i would guess we'll probably not see a growth of drought in the conditions. Remain the same so in that perspective was a good thing to have this definitely channel to pinpoint weather. "Numerous takes. Because he's grinning seen this. i think. That's kinda hilarious. It's sort of like you know what it reminds me of kim. You originally the blob. Back to nineteen fifty sometime with stephen steve mcqueen when the when they are running out of the theater wlob's attacking the theater and they've got the whole crowd the crowds giggling and laughing the whole time as a running because they're they think it's uncertain silly and it's like well. Why are you having such fun with this. And i think that's what it is with With tom cruise is he. He's just having such a time of his life. he can't stop. That million dollar grew up there. You know. I just can't stop. Smiling reminds me. It reminds me of a story. I heard about what they were doing. The star wars prequels They kept blowing takes You mcgregor and Keeton christianson and even samuel jackson kept blowing takes because they were making the lightsaber noises. Those later they're like guys. You can't do that. You're kind of detracting. From the overall ambiance of the movie we remember the head banging stormtrooper. Yes yep yep. That was horrible. It would be like it'd be like they're making the next. John wake movie and kiana was on second pew pew pew pew pew pew pew. Look a little silly all right. So does anybody care about the oscars. I think they'd be do a little bit. I mean the the big thing that i want to highlight this week. Is the oscar shorts. They got those out in in the inner city. Been theaters for most of april Finally getting around to highlighting them. Because i got thrown off the schedule. Because they're everything's delayed but there were five You know there's five nominees in each of the blocks. There's animation there's live action. There's documentary and i just personally love short films. And i think that they give a real eclectic look at things and nobody makes money on these things. It's a short films their labors of love. And that's what makes them fascinating to watch because you can sample a whole bunch of different unique stuff that you didn't even know existed so They're available now if you go to shorts dot tv that'll tell you the closest theater and when the blocks are showing it also gives you options for streaming at home and downloading them yourself. And you know kevin seriously remiss. If i didn't say i didn't mean to denigrate the oscars and by extension all the great work that you did and rudy. My puppy agrees woman. I don't know what he's all up in his grill about something. But i just wonder. Is it going to go. The route of has it has in the past as so many other awards shows that basically. It's just kind of like inside baseball. And then we get lectured on how we are as a human race. And i've always said when it comes to the speeches they can. They can pitch amway during their speeches for all. I care because you've earned that time so you know. I don't get up in arms that people are using that time to make a point. And you know that's that's that's that's their prerogative. It's when people sort of take the option to do it. But i think he's going to be different because they're doing virtual ceremony with presenters. I think the last thing people wanna watch now is another zoom call. But you are getting that with these. So i think i've always said what the oscars they need to go. Leaner not bigger. They need to say. Let's make an hour long and blouse through to make it go quick instead of padding it out. I mean it's not the seventies anymore. Yeah and i think you make a very good point. Kevin car fat guys at the movies. That guys at the movies dot com. "Fifty one joined this morning by channel to pinpoint weather meteorologists atmospheric scientists and making matt. It's been too long. We're you been mid i. Oh my gosh yeah so. It's so good to talk to you again. I guess we got the streams crossed or. I don't know what happened there. But we'll blink coveting. Yeah yeah there you go well. Let's just say that. I think this is an official meteorological term. Things a little bit unsettled meteorologically. These days. they certainly have been martin. March ramped up on us yet We've had. Let's see trying to count the number of actual storms this month. I think we're approaching six seven ish somewhere in that range of actual storms to pass through and then we'll have one today so it's been quite frequent which is great obviously the water and all that but Yeah very frequent. So it's been kind of an impressive month in that regard. How does that stack up. Historically for march For certain limitations. Yeah for certain locations it will be one of the top wettest one of the top snowy If not be top and certainly within top five and that would be most locations within the northern front range so Potentially spots in weld county larimer boulder down to denver county Denver will be Could easily be. Its snowiest march on record and certainly one of its wettest when you look at colorado however We're not going to be in that realm. It doesn't look like the west is bone dry. The south has had hit and miss moisture. And they're pretty dry really just focused on our area well and you guys nailed it. I mean i know you're taking a lot of flack on social media as a. Was it a couple of sundays ago saturday. We expected that walker stormed roland. We're out saturday going where it there's news new and while social media social media's prone to do Never has a shortage of snark. Macular things to say about your call on the forecast but sunday. Holy moly we got pummeled with snow. Yeah that was a good one and No apologies Shocking how quick tools. Just throw the mud at you and then when it actually pans out there. They're gone they what i didn't say anything i that was my my friend. He wrote that message. I i would. Never i would never take gratuitous shot at our meteorologists who are working so diligently to keep us informed underground right. That's true no that's not. I'm john deere but that was me That was john deere. Two three eight six. He's next door. You know certainly got our attention but it's it was good for drought conditions right. I mean it didn't totally resolve the issues but it gave us a leg up on snowpack. It's sure did We we saw the drought categories drop substantially the area coverage of those dropped by more than twenty five percent some of the bigger drought categories. But most all of colorado remains in a drought. There are some pockets that are technically considered abnormally dry which is not drought and that would be far. Northern county sections of layover in down in the san luis bali but the rest of colorado isn't a drought. And if you look at you know central mountains to the west that is exceptional drought conditions. And that's where a lot of our drinking water comes from. And and some pieces irradiation water too so Where our water sources are unless it right upstream unless right up stream here The other side will were pumping that water over the divide. They are hurt and hurting in the big way and that falls squarely into the yikes category. So as soon as the weekend weather forecast for northern colorado will there comes that other system. I mentioned today. The will cloud over Especially this afternoon. Maybe a couple of chances for rain or snow You might even hear some thunder with that activity. It doesn't last necessarily all. That long may go through the evening and early saturday morning saturday morning. We'll start off with some fog. Then we'll clear off and for the weekend relatively quiet once shine saturday and will make it to rebound fifty fifty five and then sunday sixty sixty five and then monday. A lot of us will be in the seventies next system will arrive tuesday and you can send those apology notes to matt. Macon channel two if you're so inclined jail to pinpoint pinpoint weather. There's really more wind damage than Lance about damage But they're different than tornadoes than that they. "Must wash their hands at least every thirty minutes menu offerings should modified to create more kitchen space customers should and again. This is under those initial guidelines of for reopening restaurants to In restaurant dining customers should be asked to wear masks. When they're not eating or drinking that would make it rather difficult when customers should be asked to register with the restaurant in case an outbreak actually occurs. Now there was some talk of perhaps Instituting temperature check before you go into a restaurant but well that remains to be seen restaurants under the draft guidelines are also directed to notify public health officials if there is an outbreak among their staff or patrons of covid Nineteen Colorado's food service industry has been as we've talked about To a great extent one of the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic scores have lost their jobs because of the virus and some restaurants have closed their doors for good because of the financial impact in fact he had the Colorado Restaurant Association saying that a full twenty percent of those restaurants. May well never reopen few restaurants where already chafing at the proposed guidelines released by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Tuesday. William Oliver's Public House has locations in Lafayette and Fort Collins said the eight foot spacing role would limit seating to about nine point five percent of capacity and this hearkens back to our conversation. We had with tiffany. Elton Co owner of Lonesome Bach and stop Burger because again as she mentioned the profit margins are very very narrow. They're they're very very small in the restaurant business. So if governor comes out and says well. You can reopen at ten percent. You can reopen a twenty thirty percent. Is it really worth it for restaurants to indeed reopen given the fact that well once again those profit margins are just pretty slim? Colorado Restaurant Association set in a post on its website these guidelines still a work in progress however they give us a glimpse of what reopening may look like. Governor? Jared police for. His part has encouraged local governments to loosen regulations to allow restaurants to serve customers in their parking lots on sidewalks and even on streets. Now wait a minute. Where possible so that they can have more capacity. That's exactly what Lauren bogert of. Shooter's Grill in rifle was doing all. That's right I forget. There were political ramifications there because she had the audacity to challenge Scott Tipton in that third congressional district. Meanwhile back to pull us. That's really the only way with the spacing we're going to have a thriving restaurant environment for the coming months. Governor hopes to solicit feedback before he releases those guidelines Memorial Day..

'Fat Guys at the Movies' Kevin Carr on reopening of theatres amid pandemic

"We are joined by our guys at the movies guy Kevin Kerr and Kevin I know theaters are opening here in Pinellas county they're gonna open up again right now the much to the chagrin of some but the movies themselves aren't being made anymore now than it's going to be a while probably for Hollywood cranks it up again and well yeah I think people are waiting and seeing what's going to happen because the movie that's that's next on the slate the next one that that had a release date that did not get moved his talent which is David of seasoning which is Christopher Nolan's latest film he of course did inception and the dark knight movies in interstellar and Dunkirk and this is going to be a big movie part of it is it's a seventy millimeter film the once showed him thirty five millimeter and seventy millimeter to my Max but it's also two hundred million dollars so you need to have as many theaters open and you got to have them being able to play and you also have to have a sort of that consumer confidence of people going out to do it you can't deal with the suppressed audience now they just dropped attendance trailer yesterday last night and it is it does not have a release date all the trailer but according to the website it's still coming out on July seventeenth so we'll see before there's new content that that's coming out I think this is one of those you know what came first chicken or the egg the reader is going to open up a nationwide or are they gonna start releasing movies first and and that's something but I think it's a wait and see I think there's there's still some time left for this to be pondered could you see because the state of Georgia is opening up and we know that there's a lot of film incentives out there could you see Hollywood packing up and maybe going out east to Georgia to get some of this film work done for future movies well here's the problem with actually ramping up the production as well is it the there's there's the insurance issue that that every large production had carries of some sort of production insurance it says that they're going to be able to continue to produce and make this movie and that there's not something that's going to happen to it like a great example is in the fast and furious movie there this is one of the best movies there in the middle of making and Paul Walker died and then change the schedule and change the budget and changed everything they had insurance that covered that it's gonna be very hard to start up production on anything with any sort of coronavirus insurance so like the big productions are still out you know I E. independent doesn't matter where they where they go even Tyler Perry's talk about opening up but you're going to have to have distancing there as well either talking about producing smaller movies like a Blumhouse is going to be doing something Michael bay has one that he wants to start producing very soon but those are going to be smaller low budget the productions are not gonna be the two hundred million dollar blockbusters well they're going to be interesting to see how it all plays out and I guess going to be big for Netflix and Hulu and all of those like that

"Light and Kevin Carr is with us with a look at the new movie the invisible man so I saw the trailer Kevin it doesn't look like the old Claude rains or the more recent Kiefer Sutherland version of the invisible man story good morning Michael yes this is a brand new interpretation of the invisible man obviously based on the original idea H. G. wells original book from over a hundred years ago but like you said it's it's not exactly the same thing you get with the Claude rains version although that's probably one of my favorite ones even holds up today in this one it takes a different approach to the story where instead of it just being a person who used chemicals to turn himself invisible and go insane which is what the original story is it's about a woman who's in a toxic relationship an abusive relationship and when she tries to escape her abusive husband her diesel has been finds a way to tracker and stalker while being invisible and of course everybody else thinks she's going insane so they approach it less is a science fiction peas and more as a thriller or a horror movie and I think that's interesting because I think they give it a different angle gives a new perspective Elizabeth moss please a woman she was a really fantastic job acting and overall I I think it's good it's like I said it's it's it's a different offshoot of different way this person becomes invisible but I think it's certainly worthy of the original idea the H. G. wells had of somebody in saying who you can't see how many how many goose bumps are we giving the invisible man you know I'm surprised by one of my favorite invisible man's movies and over eighty years so I'm gonna give it four out of five stars I really enjoyed it well how many goosebumps so goose bumps I don't know I
