"That kind of money as a guarantee, you've got to use these guys a lot. And they're none of them are kids. They all got, they wanted limited schedules and things of that nature. They could spend more time at home or a more specifically more time off the road. And if you're going to pay that kind of cash, you need to get every date, squeeze every amount of blood out of the turnip that you can. Well, we know we've talked about Kevin Nash's return to WWE in 2002. We did it last year here on our 20 year look back. Let's talk about the unfortunate end of that run though. He blew his knee out on live Monday Night Raw. And that really is the end of this NWO rerun, if you will. What do you remember of that moment? I mean, you're on the call for this. You've been on the call for some pretty big major moments. And I know you've been pretty clear in saying Kevin Nash is one of your best friends. And you see one of your best friends go down with a pretty debilitating injury right in the middle of a match when you're trying to breathe new life into this angle, the seemingly on life support, you just gotta feel bad for the guy here in this moment, no? Heartbreaking. Yeah, heartbreaking. Because you knew coming back was going to be challenging. Again, we've established Kevin getting in the business later than norm. His knees running that hardwood, all those years because you got to think he had high school basketball, he had college basketball, he ran a lot on hard surfaces and so it didn't surprise me that he was going to he had knee problems. Certainly didn't know there were going to be that severe. And I believe that it was just so depressing and so, you know, it's just tough. It had knee surgeries before. So he knew what he was up against, but it was just such bad timing. And to me it was a little heartbreaking because I always been a proponent of Kevin's fan of his which comes down to strange people because at times he could give you problems. But that's just working with people, Connie. Right. Worked with highly motivated alpha male type people and Kevin certainly checked all those boxes. But it was just a sad thing because it showed you he's got to start all over. He's got to do all the rehab. And it was a very distressing and very and just sad. God damn it. Just was horrible. You don't want to see anybody get hurt. Especially a former athlete that, you know, is doing what he's got to do to keep running a living. And now he's going to start back over and rehab and get all this body back ready. And that's not easy, because you're rebuilding these. You rebuilding those joints and boy, that's a daunting task. Well said, he's going to return in early 2003 and the story is that Vince actually wanted him to come back here as diesel. We know he comes back as Kevin Nash, but do you think these are coming back in O three could have worked? If it booked correctly, sure. But I had no issues with Kevin ash thing. He had established amazing name identity and street Cred, shall we say, as Kevin? So I had no problem with him coming back as Kevin Nash because that's what, you know, those big ratings that WCW was getting was a great exposure for Kevin. And it enhanced his name identity over that period of time. So I didn't have a problem with that situation whatsoever. With a diesel thing of work, probably. But Kevin Nash would work too. Because he had already had that resume updated from his NWO days. Kevin is immediately put back in the top spots, building towards a match with Triple H for the world title. I'm sure he had a lot of fun here. Working with his opal and he gets a shot at hunter and Judgment Day. It ends in a DQ that builds to a match at bad blood and Hell in a Cell match. And the build for this doesn't go all that great. It's the side of the Mick Foley as needed to put the match over the top. He's made the special guest referee and of course he's had some pretty memorable hill in the sales. Hunter gets the win and everyone's bleeding, including the referee after a sledgehammer shot and a pedigree for the rear and for the win. Kevin Nash, just two weeks later, is going to be losing the test in under two minutes. Crazy. It's hard to look at that logically. And I understand a Tess is younger. He was healthier in some ways he was healthier. In some ways he wasn't. There you go. And I thought that was just I understand that logic, you're trying to get a young guy over big guy. Fairly athletic. You know, part of that Canadian connection that I hired, but it was just, I don't know. It was just, it doesn't make any sense. I'm just trying to figure out, was the logic? Right. And I can't see it even to this very day where the logic was in Kevin losing the test. And two minutes. Short matches. Just illogical. A month

"Again, you just don't give up quickly on a 7 foot athlete. That's got a great mind for the business. As it has great stage presence, that he walks through an airport, you look. And believe it or not, Vince, based some of his decisions on things like that. So, you know, and that's just old school promotion. But honestly, I refer now two or three times here in the last few minutes about it looks good on a poster. Right. It looks good. It's a good 8 by ten type thing. And I believe that's just an old promoters adage. It looks good. You know, I get these, I'll show you see them too on social about the old school posters and things that like that. Who's picked out to be who's picked to be in the ad? So to speak and so things change, man. Things change and this changes lock the wind. And I can see Bruce's passion because he had to sell this stuff to Vince, and that was actually the Bruce and pat Patterson. A lot of Bruce's philosophy, he established through his relationship with pat. And Paterson was not a mainstream sports guy. He was a worker. He was an old school worker. And that affected Bruce a lot, and a lot of those, I learned a hell of a lot from pat Patterson. So as Bruce had not learned a lot, then that was a hugely missed opportunity, but he did. But you can tell this has got to find something. To fix. And he thought that one thing that could fix the woes of the business is changing the champion. But one of your books like the champion was booked, seeking a Kevin ash, sometimes you damage your goods. And how you book them and how the perception is. So I really thought that the company didn't do a lot of favors and how his booked. That's just me. They tried things. There will try it. But she also got to understand that Kevin was succeeding Shawn Michaels as champion. And I don't know if Sean Michaels is a polarizing figure. There's no doubt about it. He said, do a great job for WWE at this point in time. NXT operation. And he found his home in that respect. So things changed. Wrestling is so fluid and what's great today may be you may get that powerful weapon out and which is the erasure. And fix that. You change casting. You change booking. And rock and roll from there. Well, I'll tell you what, you're going to be rocking and rolling with some extra cash in your pocket. Thanks to our sponsors at rocket money. You know, the average person has around 12 paid subscriptions. Think about that. If you think you're

"Cameron Grimes is interesting. Well, it was going to be Adam Cole with Keith Lee, right? Remember that rumor? Oh, yeah. I mean, if you're gonna pair someone up, pair up fucking Raquel Gonzalez with Rhea Ripley. Get rid of fucking Nicky ash tag team. Yeah. Yeah, that's not bad. I think grime should come to the main roster soon and do something. Even if he is just anything, right? Like a manager or right? I mean, he's got that whole different look now. He doesn't have a homeless man reared. Yeah. There's a little bit cleaner, you know? Jake baker pushed for a very next to win a world title. Liv Morgan? Kevin Owens before he leaves? Sami Zayn before he leaves. Gonna fire Sammy. I want to push live. Kevin. 'cause they're leaving anyway, who cares? Right. If Owens is leaving in January, where he's going to be champion for a week. Right. What's even the point? Or hey, if we make your champion will you stay? Okay, give me the payroll. Yes, okay. I'll hang around. And then we're gonna do one more year. You're gonna lose it at the Royal Rumble. Fuck you. Why don't I resign for 5 years? Paul, so WWE logic, Sony DeVille is allowed to slap Naomi in the face just because she's her employer. Uh huh. If I were Naomi, I'd file a lawsuit. Yeah. I mean, I've been a manager. You can't hit me, but I can hit you. No, that's not true anywhere on the planet. Except for wrestling. Because wrestling isn't real. Yeah. Don't have to worry about rules. Adam bushfire berry, having the undertaker streak, stay undefeated. Getting the Scott hall Kevin Nash pay scale in WCW. Yeah, fuck the undertaker. I'll take their money. Or have the Brock Lesnar treatment and only work 8 times a year, but still get paid millions. Oh. Fire the taker straight, because these other two were rich. So true. I'm gonna push the Brock treatment, go to work, 8 times a year, and still get a few million. Not bad. It's got home Kevin ash at that too. Yeah. Right? They worked more though. Yeah, but they would never wrestle. Never ever. Pop culture junkie if you could sit on Santa Vince McMahon's lap, Santa Vince's lap and ask for anything for Christmas, yeah. How about tag titles for the women? The women's division. We should get San events every year, just to help us make fun of them. Ivana it, what? Ivana it must Ivana. Ivana. Eat my ass. Oh, well, it should be. All right, Yvonne. I guess. Like your own. I want to eat my ass. I want to eat masks. I've eat my ass. Come again. And again. Do you think the next Roman Reigns is currently on the roster? Is it possible for AW to create bigger star than WWE, organically, organically meaning Nazi and punk Jericho, Cody Rhodes, et cetera? MJF could be the biggest fucking star in wrestling. I think if they do, Braun breaker right, he could be a big star. I don't know what they're gonna do. It's a shame that they future endeavor anyone. Everyone before they even give them a chance to be big. In today's climate, like you listen to how John Cena was almost shit canned. Yeah. He would have already been fired. Of course. Oh, yeah. Stone cold. You imagine with his gimmick would have been today if he was an up and coming guy? Oh, God. I love all y'all. He'd be Otis. He'd be talking. Where's the mate, ducky? Come on. It'd be a brand new brother love. He just like a drunk guy that is related to someone, and another bear. Yeah, he'd be on NXT. Yeah, taking a shit. We like manjiro. Oh man. Next time. Super slack. Gerald's shitting in one stall in Austin's throwing up beer and the other stall. Yeah. Maybe one beer. I'm trying to barf over here. Where's there in a way in margarita? Jason Durham. Two pi Tony. Well, I guess that confirms page isn't coming back now that they passed that gimmick. An X rated episode of what's wrong with wrestling? Holy shit. Pretty much. That's today's been that. Yeah. Yeah. Chef Cain, have you watched ruthless aggression season two yet? I've watched the Hollywood rock episode. So not the Shawn Michaels one yet? I want to watch those. I did Shawn Michaels. Second coming. I can't do that voice. Good lord. Good God. No, I was about him his second coming episodes. Yeah, one of the episodes is about him. Tell me more, Eric. It's about me coming. Yeah, no, but season one of the ruthless aggression era was good. Yeah. It was just easier to access on the network and not on the cock. Yeah. So now it's all on people. It's always harder on the cock. It is always harder on the cock. Yeah. Wow. All right. So all right, what's wrong with dick jokes? All right, guys, make sure you subscribe to us. "I feel that way about jeff Even if even if matt this stuff happened with matt but yeah it did and it makes it even more. It makes it even more for gimme that they shouldn't be doing this. Yeah does i mean they're brothers. I mean just for pr reasons alone. I mean sadly i think. Tna probably looks at this point like pr just it's a messy situation down. There major changes need to happen or they just need to go away. Honestly i'm to the point. I don't care. I would hate to see a lot of people lose jobs and all that for that reason i care but as a viewer if that show disappeared though we talk about how we sad if they lose their jobs and yes in the in the big picture. We are but like unimak last week. Jerry lynn interferes or yells at the referee about not counting farrah band down fast enough and the referee disqualifies rob van dam. I mean it was. Just it's like it's just the lowest of low iq booking. Why would the referee punish rob van dam because a guy at ringside jumped the railing and yelled at just all the referee has to do. I mean i'm not i. It just sounds like what you obviously haven't watched racing. Wait if you think people act in a common sense way but my argument is booking away where everybody connect in a way that makes total natural sense. And tell your story that way. If you can't tell your story without people acting in a way that seemed like the natural way they would act couple put the new storyline. What the referee should've done is pointed to the back and called for security. Come out and said get this guy out of here so these people can fight. That's what the referee should done. So the referee does it. It's boneheaded it was stupid it was clearly unfair and the referees should be fired for making a decision that asinine but what are the but by biggest problem isn't with the referee doing that under high pressure. Oh he made a mistake. My problem is mike today and tasr sitting there saying nothing to the viewer about Mike today and tasr grow a set and call out like don west did back when he was on commentary. Call out the asinine booking. And and so when you say oh. I don't want people to lose jobs mike today. Tasr don't deserve their jobs if they're not willing to speak up and call out this product when it's asinine and i don't mean do it in an unprofessional way. I mean do it. In a professional way where venture so backstage is listening on headset going. I see again. Maybe he's not smart enough to know that this would be theriault. Act this way but he could go. Oh that isn't obvious thing. Probably all the viewers thinking. I'm glad today and task covered for that gaping hole in logic in my own booking. I need to think about that next time. Thanks mike and tasr for at least making the promotion not look like. We're all buffoons. At least we got somebody on the microphone. Who can say. Why did the referee make that call. Why didn't he just ban jerry. Lynn from ringside. But the reason is because bins russo venture so wanted to tell the story of robin being upset at jerry lynn for costing him a match but what he didn't do figure out how to tell that story in a way that made any sense So my argument is people in. Tna don't deserve any. I don't feel bad for them. Losing their jobs because there's too many people who know better who aren't speaking up and if they don't know better they don't deserve jobs and wrestling by making you and me jason and everybody watch a show that it's completely needlessly inferior. What could be if they just added a little bit of anti until intelligence to the way that they approach writing executing it. Oh don't get me wrong. I'm not endorsing the wrestling wealth. Or the bruce. Bruce talks about it. But i do know people in that company who really do have the best intentions in mind. Those are the people that i would hate to see. Lose jobs over the but hopefully they would land on their feet and end up in a much better situation. I it's just to that point. This is just dead. And i really do think that's where they're bringing hardy back. I don't know where goldberg's going. He's saying he's back. And i it just. It's the it's the vicious cycle of tna you you can't already because you're booking is so horrible but you're going to bring in some new stars and think that's gonna be. That's that's what you need. No you need new management. You need a number one new creative outlook new creative regime this way. We talk about it all the time. He is frigging incompetent. He does not know how to book effectively to make money. And there's no way around it. And dixie carter just refuses to budge. I what is wrong with her. How can you sit here. she does. she's not a novice anymore. She's been around this industry long enough. I mean she has to have people in that company telling her what the real problem is and she may not wanna hear it. But i mean at some point you just. You deserve to lose your family's fortune if you're not gonna listen to people telling you what the obvious thing is that this guy doesn't have a clue. He's been a miserable failures since the day left. Wwe what has he accomplished since he left there. And it's on spy tv too. You know i mean. They came to trust that some people. Who aren't you know when i just get the sense that some of the people that spike are complete marks for the attitude era and think we've got through so and staying and we used to have kevin ash and kurt angle. Well we'll settle for him even though he was never really big star in the nineties. Like i just sense that they're like well interest scripting on time and and he's reliable and so you know and he was part of the attitude era and vincent man couldn't have been that stupid. Let vince russo. Right his shows back during them and they don't they don't know any better but they don't understand. It's you know. Fourteen years later since vince. Russo was doing Being a good contributor on a team that included vince mcmahon at the peak perhaps of his creative incentive to try he was fighting to stay alive willing to take chances like never before and russo was right person right time and he absolutely in history books deserves credit for the things that he did to spur. Wwe on to great success but he has overwhelmingly had more bad years. More awful years than go to your by a wide margin and spike tv. People need to stop Making it seem like that. As long as dixie and jeff don't make major changes then spike will keep them around..

"Many like who do you really go against. Who are shown said taker rami. Growing those matt only a lot of thought about kevin acid rain on a band ones. Kevin ashes sucky is wrestler. Oh i'd be the only good magic. The adver with bradshaw asked who he faced it. I mean i could list. I'm pretty sure. Vader was in there at one point. I mean i'm not saying it was good match. I mean the ninety s. I don't even really remember for good match. But also he was seven foot. Tall people liked him invincibles in love with them. So you have the belt for three hundred years. Yeah right that's how it goes man. You both have golden role models on yours. No one else does z. You got them at number two smitty. You have a number four. Why do you feel golden role models when the number two Because i thought okay so this year is the first year where i feel like. They have actually put some emphasis on the women's titles. And i think giving them to bailey and sasha and the story they told and and yeah it all lead up to sasha beating bayley for the smackdown women's title but i think what did you say. They only held them for eighty days some days like that. All right see for me. It felt like longer When you originally subtitled. They've held him logger. I mean this is bad. The longest near of all of our lives so eighty days felt like one hundred and six news But i think that okay eighty five days. But i feel like they did more notable things for the title stem you know. Say the kabuki warriors did by the kabuki warriors held for longer and they were a much more polished team. But they didn't do anything for the titles. I in my opinion. I i think putting them on sasha bailey and giving sasha bailey the run they were probably supposed to have before sasha up it must the company just to make a point or however that. Play out Today i i. My my list is more based on. Who did what for the title or the position they were in not necessarily based that. How long titles were held or anything like that. Like these are my personal i personally. They did good for that division. They built it up. I think w w dropped the ball with sasha our core. Sharon quarterback Jack's having the title. I don't think they did very well with them So yeah. I mean they're number two just for the basically saving that women's tag division for a little bit fair fair smitty you hate to give any props to hangman page. Because because of his name barely only say his name once every twenty twenty one. What you have them at your number five. Why are they your number five when they held the titles longer in a tag division. That you say is really difficult. Dave had better matches than in the tag division. That you say is really difficult. As a matter of fact a lot of people have them as their match of the year. Our mind as well against the young bucks ws revolution. So all of the things that you have stated for why f- tr is your number to actually apply to an even greater extent to your number five tag team. So why do you have them at number.

"That's the only reason. I put them under the north. Because i still think that The street profits are a as big of a draw as any tag team has been in the wwf. A long time and it goes it goes a long way With montez ford and angel dockings and their charisma their character factor the way they go about it. Their fashion sense the way they just make everything in that ring. Also look so effortless very very good tag team. Smitty start shaking your titties. And they're having all the fun and you can see it. S fine disease mideast. Your latest comes right with minis meets just used to go back clemency. Well somebody's meets. Twenty twenty twenty promo crimes committees make. We need you. Yeah son of a bitch that motherfucker gotta be all sick and shit. Okay so then everything. Switches i is many you have. Tr number two. I didn't even wanna put them in my fucking top five z. Put them at number five. Why do you think was the second best over street providence. As much praise that we just gave the street profits. You still have fdr over them. They wanna most talked about taxes throughout the year. And then they had. I think they had a decent with those titles. I really good match in the way. W highlights tag teams in tag wrestling late. They edged over street profits and they did and the strategy. That's why i think. Street profits are better because they were in a company that doesn't highlight tag teams and they were still as popular instill ran more time with that. Anybody can be popular when you're featured when you know you're going to be featured but when you don't know when you're trying to stay feature that's why the new day was so amazing. That's why all the stuff that was so amazing it's a company that does not push tag teams unless they have to and the street profits made. Wwe have to push them and they and they all started that with nothing but fucking promos while they were still in an x t and all i did was come up and talk about so i understand what you're saying. We can agree to disagree. I'm not saying you're wrong for putting them to. I'm saying i think it's more impressive. What street profits did then. What number five pieces of shaking human beings the Affiliate rain even though they had a great had the great matches. But i feel like the competition was he is a week division. It's like kevin ashes. Wbf title is a yes. It was impressive. Run but.
