"No coaches ever go is coming actually. No i'm coming. I'll be there all right boys. It's officially fall. Which means baseball is here. Football is back in pucks in hoops. Just around the corner so head on over to your local bar and make sure to order some pink whitney to enjoy with all the game that any game. That tickles your fancy. I'm a big football guy. This time he was down football a little bit wet but a couple of shots of pink. Whitney boom right back at it. Speaking of which tampa bay is a six and a half point favorite. Right now. wouldn't be shocked. That goes up toward the end of the week in my survivor pool. I had i bought four picks at the beginning of the year. I lost one when buffalo last week. One i picked them to pittsburgh. Steelers beat him. But i have three left. One of my three. This week was baltimore. And i was playing golf and i had no idea and i looked at. Oh nice they won. I had a group group chat of the guys in this in this pool and they were like body. You have no idea. Sixty six yard longest field going history to waste your off the bottom of the crossbar and then rolls in just so i had. I've been watching. There's no chance misses it by twenty yards. But i just thought it was an easy win when i looked at the score out. So the cherry on top is. I want to say somebody who was recording it behind. You remember when big cat ended up going to the game with those guys who were in those silly hats most ridiculous night ever detroit on someone else i think it was so he has a kicking it against detroit and somebody who was videoing. Had those guys in front of them in the shot and hits the crossed links over. Oh my what. A what a treat. We've gotten pretty deep into the football. Talk but okay so we might as well talk about aaron rodgers assumed shaved. Save that for the back end. Say that say the the for the back end because we do get hockey to get to first off. We do have a guest. We're not bring him on quite yet. We'll later in the show. We have Vegas golden night goaltender. Robin leonard joins us for nice lengthy chat about an hour and a half and very interesting fellow. We talked a little bit much though he kind of kept to himself. I don't know if you guys are like the the is a very opinionated guy and we love guys when they come on and let it fly. And i don't know if you guys have seen some pictures online. He is looking absolutely shredded coming into the season. So this is a man on a mission. And i'm interested to see him in the starring role. Yeah so a little later will bring him on. But like i said in the intro. We've got some more drama up in buffalo the latest in the soap opera up there unsurprisingly. Jack eichel did feel as physical given given the situation. What his neck Then he was stripped of his captaincy. Of course we've said before he wants the artificial disc replacement team watson have the fusion surgery. It's crazy they're fighting so much over this. You gotta wonder if the shots are being called from somewhere pile. Like if i don't know. I mean kevin adams really digging his heels in this much or someone above him saying hey you gotta do this season first time. Gm he's gonna he's gotta take orders from the boss. But i don't know man it feels like this has got their hands so far up his ass. He's a puppet master at this point. 'cause yeah this is jason. I'll be honest. I thought there was not a chicken. Dick's chance in hell that this would be dragged out as long as it has. That's why i never really gave it much. Deep thought earlier on the summer. I thought he was going to get moved over. Maybe towards the end of summer this is just. This is fucking embarrassing. This is a guy who should be getting ready for an olympic year A starring nhl. Who's know the pinnacle of his career. And when all throw it over to you but this is a fucking joke. Yeah i said it from the beginning. And you're right. There's no chance you can give kevin adam schiff for this hulas telling exactly what telling him exactly what he's gonna do and not giving in to the surgery that the player wants to get on his own body and we actually talked to robin letter about this because he was a part of some issues in buffalo granted. It was a different staff and a different time years ago but he had opinions on. What's happening to jack. We're we're biased in a sense that we're friends with jack eichel but in looking at the whole scenario forget that this is fucking insane that there's a player in the league any player in the league that wants a surgery and that the team won't let him get it and not only. Is it hurting the player hurting the team. First off. he's getting paid. He's getting paid duty. He got injured. Playing hockey. do didn't get injured in on a motorcycle. Doing something off ice. This guy got injured in a game and now he can't play. The team gets nothing out of the team. Can't even trade them because they can't get an agreement with any other team on what surgery he needs and the whole issue really stems from buffalo being such a dumpster fire and really ruining this from the get go now i i see their side in the sense that when the cbi was was discussed in figured out like this the teams ended up having control over over players injuries and surgeries. That's definitely gonna be looked into next time. The as what you what do you call it all right. What's the renegotiate renegotiate. Whenever it is negotiating again this will good job is there will be talks about this because it's a bad look for the entire league like you say one of the best players in the league one of the biggest young guns going. He's not even playing. Nobody has any clue when he's going to be playing and he was skating all summer. I talked to guys at boston flying around looking on real now. He can't be hit. There's contact but he looks great and you just feel for a guy. I don't care how much money has disguise loves. The game hockey's all he wants to do. And you're sitting there in limbo right now. I listen to elliott and merrick on thirty one podcast and they were talking about how with tarasenko and tarasenko request trade from saint louis. His medical records were made to be seen an open to any team that want to see them in terms of talking trades. They look at it. They could have their doctors look at it. Nobody seen eichel's. So maybe at least come in and elliot said this in terms of getting his medical records to any team who wants to see them so at least they can have doctors give their opinions on what's going on and maybe a trade could happen before the surgery goes down but the whole thing is embarrassing. It really is embarrassing for the league. It's embarrassing for the sabres and you're looking at a guy you strip them of the of the sea and he's just gonna be they're getting paid and where does this end dude like. At what point does this is gonna do..

"Keeping score this season. Okay if you if you get the predictions wrong. You shouldn't get a right to come back on the air and believe me. I'm going to do everything in my power keeping score just saying. Here's here's the bottom line and it's the it's the tweet from stat stat guys daniel. That might have been mike. Tomlin's biggest statement game since the twenty eighteen win against the patriots. Remind me what happened. What happened in two thousand. Eighteen against the patriots was big big win. I remember that it was. We watched a game together. As i remember correctly certainly the end of it. It was when. I think. That's the i you know it's it's hard not to think of it as the jalen samuels game. I believe the one where we're bella. Check dropped everyone back in seventy one hundred twenty yards on eight carries or something That was vince williams interception. It was incredible game. I can see that. I can see that argument for that. Being the biggest statement game just because for all the big games that they won in twenty nineteen. There was rarely that feeling of like okay. They're going to win the super bowl with even after the big wins against the browns. The big wins against the chargers. But yeah i'll buy. That is as big a statement win in three years house shows. How many statement wins. You have that you can have two in three years. Oh well yeah. I mean the i what i remember that game about. That game is the defense shutting down. Tom brady at least if not if not i mean i think they held ten points the entire game and key drive at the end. When you're stopping brady on the two minute drill. I mean that's the that's the best you can do. Talk about statement games. So let's see we. We're talking this week against the bills. Twenty eighteen against the patriots. What about what about duck against the browns in twenty nineteen. That was a good one. That was absolutely incredible. I don't know who else could have coached team to win that. The only thing that i can see that not being a statement because know there at the time there was kind of feeling like team really win the super bowl. You're not thinking that in the moment these are all statement wins. They were all underdogs whether by points or by how the media them. These are all incredible. Wins like i'm thinking. What about batch versus the ravens in twenty twelve. What about danny dixon versus the titans in twenty ten was that was a great one to these again. It shows and we're probably missing so many statement wins because that shows just how many when there are so many wins. There are a lot of statements to choose from. Well i i tried to find all the fourth quarter comebacks from ben in games and i i had to give up because it was like. Yeah that's gonna take all day two thousand four. we're down ten in the fourth to the cowboys. Two thousand six. We're down ten in the fourth to the browns two thousand seven. We're down twelve at half against the browns. two thousand eight. Were down ten in the fourth against the cowboys. Dish with the with the pick. Six two thousand fifteen down. Seventeen at half against the broncos two thousand seventeen down fourteen at half against the bengals a two thousand eighteen down sixteen in the third against the jags and then of course the ravens. Twenty twenty and the colts twenty twenty down ten at the half so It's just a career of statement games. Let's get to the. I think this is the this sums up. A lot of steelers nation but only at kevin adams twenty-six had the guts to put it out there. He says mike tomlin hall of fame. Resume lombardi winner proven winner. Kevin adams five foot eight midget football experience. I apologize coach per usual. Wow what someone being man enough to apologize on twitter. That's incredible that is that's the lesson that all of steelers nation be better on twitter. I want to get to the the final word you know. Derek carr everyone has their media days. Okay but derek carr had to go and make it personal. Derek carr quarterback of the oakland. I'm sorry not oakland the los angeles the los angeles. The las vegas raiders said that the immaculate reception ball hit the ground. I can't even. I can't even what what. What else did the derek carr say. He probably thought jesse didn't catch it. You know derek carr. He probably thought the killer. Bees were the the pirates of the eighties. He probably you know he probably thought that. Tell me what else is thinking. What i was going to say was that i won. Derek carr has to say that because derek carr is even more removed than you. And i from being alive to see the immaculate reception. And i just keep thinking what would imagine if derek carr hadn't said that he'd been like no. No no absolutely franco caught the ball. Look i've analyzed the film. Long time i've seen frenchy fuqua gave his lecture. It was absolutely a touchdown. I'm sorry. Everyone raiders nation. But it didn't happen. That would have been way more bizarre. Of course he had to say that he's seen the same youtube videos of it. That so many other generations out at this is somebody who you know merely is may not making the next. Aw lost angeles. Beg raiders awkward autograph session less awkward. You know he went a bridge too far. Are you can talk about you can talk about. Xs knows you can talk about strategy but when you go against our gods dance. That's a bridge too far. Derek carr okay. The immaculate reception was a catch without there would be no. There might not be steelers today. It might be you know. Might be the salt lake city steelers if not for that immaculate reception who knows what what weird variant timelines are going to have to watch. Marvel's what if to find out what. The immaculate reception wasn't caught it's a blasphemy derek. Carr you know and we we all know what happens when you stamp on the terrible towel but But now you've you've crossed our you've crossed our gods and legends derek. Carr we'll see you in the fourth quarter german. there's there's a la- disrespect the terrible towel. You see what happens. And i remember to. Tj hooch man zeta never ends up winning anything in the league not that much longer later and it makes a living essentially private coaching a bunch of steelers wide receivers and And i thought oh lyndale white disrespect and then he was. And i don't remember what happened. I think i saw him in an audition last time. A commercial edition a few weeks ago. I mean i. You know whatever happened to that guy. That's what disrespecting the terrible towel is like the hope diamond of football. Like as soon as you do it you invite some sort of dark unseen forced to Wreck havoc upon your life. "There's a chance and so. Yeah it's it's gonna be fascinating to see the timing of all this and what they ultimately get out of it. Because i think there's a there is a there is a world in which they don't get what they otherwise. It was her friend. David pinano the fourth period reported As a matter of fact and reported it Was that today's that dated today. Dodgers twenty-second that lasts. I yesterday saying Still no surgery means by all accounts he won't be ready for the start of camp or the season. So i don't know i mean they're doing things differently with the buffalo sabres these days. Tearing kim gula kevin adams who perhaps wasn't the most qualified general manager. I think that's putting it mild hate the fact that the surgery is part of the storyline. It'd be a great storyline just for the fans to watch. If he was just being true totally healthy being traded. You know this would be like one of the best players in the league being dealt. It'd be great story. But the fact now and i'm sad for us. All of us is hockey. Fans that one of the top eight top ten tells certainly the league may not be one hundred percent this pretty invasive surgery into a neck. I mean maybe we don't see the same michael again that'd be too bad. You give up four or whatever for that right like yeah or whatever they're asking no i and that's why i think when you're the kings and you have all these prospects and all of these picks you have the luxury where you're able to burn some of them on if you call a gamble now a gamble this fine fine to way. Centerman is going to be fine physically and is gonna float your center exposition going forward. I think he will. It's a physical game over. Sure he's going to be targeted and all that neck to sing messenger. Necker back turning the surgery wants is. They want the fusion of the deaths in the neck. And yeah you're right. Nobody's no nhl players add more. Yeah yeah so. That's why the sabers doctors are. My cousin just flew in from over to get fusion. Surgery here real. She can't get an expert because.

"And we're not really talking much football. We did a lot yesterday. We did a lot on Friday and then also the first hour. Of today's show, but I don't want to get some hockey mixed, especially Sal doing 10 to 12 little more football flair in that time slot than you normally would get. So we had Anthony Shandra from expected buffalo on at one o'clock, And now we bring in Joe Yard in the noted jerk AP died by the blade, Joe. Thanks for joining me here on the Western Hotline. How you doing today? Doing great job. It's good to be back on talking with you. You had a pretty good take the other day on the NBA Finals. I'm trying to make you want to make sure it was you. I'm looking through your Twitter throwback uniforms for the NBA Finals. 100% How good I need two bucks eighties jerseys, and then I need the sun, nineties jersey or even their eighties jurors and honestly, like, Yeah, just do it that way. I mean, I know some people love those bucks nineties jerseys from like the Ray Allen Todd Day. Days with like the giant deer on the front, But like I don't know, man. I'm old school. As I love those like Carrie Cummings, Ricky Pierce jerseys from the eighties and Yeah, just give me those all the time, man Like those are the best looks. Yeah, they are throwback uniforms for the sons. I love especially I don't think I've even seen The Bucks ones. I have to look them up. Um, but I have an idea of what they are in my head. So Yeah, I I like it for the NBA the NHL Finals. By the way, we were just kind of riffing about this in the last segment. Me and Corey. Like I don't know if we can figure out really like who were rooting for like of these markets, like much depends much like Montreal hasn't won in a while. But you've 24 Stanley Cups in Tampa just one last year. You have the Super Bowl. Whereas NBA finals right now like I could make the case that you should root for both markets, Phoenix says just the Diamondbacks Championship World Series from the early two thousands. That's pretty much it and then Milwaukee is one since the seventies. Mm. Yeah, I mean, Don't know, NBA one. I'm just kind of like I'm in that. I hope both teams have fun spot. You know, Like like, if either team wins. I think it's pretty awesome. I mean, obviously, you know, Phoenix hasn't won it before. And you know they're 93 team ran headlong into the bulls. So it's like, you know, Barclay had that unreal season that year, and you just say, Michael Jordan, and that's good luck. That's how you're not winning that. But like with Tampa, Montreal, I've been really surprised to hear a lot of people around Buffalo being okay with being okay with Montreal winning and I'm like they're way more history here with the haves like I'm surprised more Sabres fans are more like you know the hell with the house. Let's you know, Let's sample what it again. I don't care, but I don't know. A lot of lot of Sabres fans don't like the Southern teams winning For you know, for provincial reasons, which I mean, I guess I get that too, but but I don't know if he winning the Stanley Cup twice in 10 months. That's pretty special thing. If it happens, yeah, last year, too like they wanted in Edmonton, like their fans were. I'm sure enjoyed it. But not maybe the same extent as if you know if they win it tonight, especially on home ice. Um, Joe, we brought you on, of course, Talk a lot about the Sabres that you wrote about at the AP last week. I think it was about Michael surgery and the status of that What? We were just kind of wondering and speculating because you wouldn't really be able to know this without inside information. But doesn't it sound right that If the Sabres doctors are preaching rest and rehab that Over the course of enough time. I mean, if it's not working, wouldn't you think surgery has to come into play at some point? I mean, he might not be on the team. By the time that point happens, but it's just a thought that I've had. Yeah, To me. That seems like the eventuality Just because her knee I mean I said I'm not a doctor. I'm not even gonna pretend to be one on the radio here, but, uh, but I mean, a herniated disc in the neck just does not sound pleasant in any sort of way. I can't imagine trying to play hockey with that kind of with that kind of ailment. Because I imagine it's painful. I imagine it makes doing basic things very annoying at the very least, if not painful, um and you know, playing hockey. I mean, you're always at risk for having some kind of You know, some kind of injury at some point. I mean, we saw last season the last game that he played. It was against the Islanders and you've got shoved from behind by cases of Zika and then the last, you know, Last time we saw him on the bench was him like rubbing his neck just being, you know, and Pretty, You know, pretty considerable pain. So I mean, like those kinds of things can happen. You know if you're digging into the corner or some, you know, some guy comes truck it in from behind and plows you over. That could you know that could put you on put you on the injured list for a long time. So, uh, you know, I mean, as far as I'm concerned, but, you know, I get you know Well, all things considered. What Eichel seems to want to do is kind of experimental, but I know the view has been taken from from the Sabres and from other people saying that you know it is an experimental surgery that you know elite athletes haven't had it done on him. But I'm like, I don't know if an M A guys had that surgery and has been able to Continue his career. I would argue that Emma is a lot more physical and a lot more dangerous than the NHL is. Yeah. Where are you at in a trade right now. You would. Would you say you're closer to optimistic or closer closer to pessimistic on what the return will end up looking like if Michael is traded? I don't know. A lot of the experts seem to be kind of throwing up throwing a blanket on on things. And I should say the insiders and in saying that they, you know, the saber should basically take whatever you know Whatever good offer they get which I don't know. I don't know about that to me. Iculs, a top 10 player in the NHL. Yes, there's there's the worry about the next Um, but I mean, you're not completing a trade without you know, without him getting a physical without getting looked at in the first place. And you know to me like that's you know, I think that's the the thing that happens If he clears a team's physical, you're getting a top 10 player and that you should have to pay the price for for what a top 10 player. Get you, You know, I mean, that's at the first round pick. It's it's a top prospect. And it's probably somebody you know a younger, you know, top player on the roster like that's that to me. Seems like what the deal should at least be. So you know what? What? It seems like a lot of the, um Discussion about this trade is going on through reporters. Uh, um You know where, you know we're hearing. You know, we're hearing stuff where, you know, Um, you know, they're the Sabres asking prices, you know, super high and you know, than other teams. You know, other guys are saying, Well, these teams don't want to give up anything and I'm like, well Your your middle point in between seems to be where the Sabres are ultimately aiming because if you're if a team is willing to give you that super package that's the Sabres supposedly are asking for great. If you have to, like negotiated down to find that soft middle point That's probably where Kevin Adams is aiming anyways. Joe you're done is on the West. Her hotline AP Sports died by the blade at Joe you're.

"Go all out for this player. At the end of the day. I think there has to be a bidding war. That happens because it's an it's a It's a player that doesn't hit the trademark it ever Once you know, decade opportunity to get a player of this, this magnitude John Tavares came available once and for agency. Is that it? Can I compare him to anybody else's the Thornton trade. When does an elite young franchise center like this become available? It deserves a bidding war. It deserves desperation from owners to get this guy. But who's going to be the team that fires up that desperation? I keep thinking of Vegas for that. I keep thinking Vegas will be that team that goes ultra aggressive and pushes everybody into the better into the auction room. Let's go to Randy and Montreal. Randy, you're on the night cap. Hey, Joe, It's Randy. I'm a huge saved as far and I've lived in Montreal my life I've been to Buffalo for bills and Sabres games and I'm really disappointed that the Canadians are in the Stanley Cup finals because I hate them more so their fan dates Than the team itself. Fans here are really they know they are not at knowledgeable about hockey. As everyone seems to think they are they pick. The Canadians are going to win the next three and win the Stanley Cup. I mean, it's hopeful but unlikely. I'm just hoping that Tampa Bay does whatever they got to do to finish them off tomorrow. All right. You want Montreal the loose Of course, yes. Why don't you like the Canadians? Wow. If it goes back to many years, I've been a saber response since 1993. It's more about the cocky fan base. They're they're worse than the New York Yankee fan base. They think they deserve the Stanley Cup every year. And they'll they'll do whatever they want to rip us soft. Reichel. They've mentioned some some friends of mine. They think that they could get Aiko for Romanoff and, uh, a first round pick and Ryan, touring Yeah, I told them get lost with that. Uh, yeah, I've been a Sabres and bills. France 1993. I'm almost 47. I love the buffalo teams. I don't like the Canadians. Uh, I did like the Montreal Expos, but they moved so hopefully they come back one day, but the Canadians are very annoying. As you could ask Lee fans or jet fans, Uh, They're probably one of the most annoying fan bases in the history of sports. If you don't feel that way, I don't know, but that's the way it is. I Yeah, Rainy. Thanks for the call, Man. I'm glad you called in. And thanks for listening on Montreal. I don't get the sense. From around here that Montreal's like that, But I think it's because we already see Toronto was being that we already see the Leafs as being that. So I'm not saying your wrong you would know better than I living in Montreal. What that fan base is like But I don't think we get a sense of that around here because we view Toronto as being the Yankees as the Cowboys. The team that's always in your face. That you're always hearing about that everyone's always talking about on TV. And as always pretty mediocre. I mean, at least my lifetime. The Yankees have 27 World Series, but in my lifetime, that's how it's been. So our hands are like that, too. I'm already rooting for Tampa. I don't love rooting for the the favorite, but Montreal does not deserve to win. The team is not built right? It's not It's not sustainable. Tampa did it perfect. They nailed draft picks late. They weren't afraid to go for European players, especially Russian players. Vasilevskiy Kucherov surrogate, Kev. Big name players, core members of their team. They weren't afraid They weren't They weren't staring at where they were born. Where they played junior hockey. They looked at the skills. And they determined Who was most likely to play in the league based on that, and that alone. It's not an accident that they took that mindset, and they are here about to win a second consecutive Stanley Cup. Two Stanley Cups coming off the greatest regular season we've ever seen from NHL team by the way. That is a dynasty in the making. And I want to believe that if you build the perfect team, you'll be rewarded and not What we get a hot goalie. Let's look into it. That's Montreal. So I'm rooting for Tampa as well. Let's roll through some more calls. While we're still kind of close to the ankle topic, Let's go to Jonathan and Alden. Jonathan, you're on the night cap. What's up? Hey, Joe. The call us to called Hemi to basically to my thunder. Um, basically the favors. The only reason to keep Michael is if no other GM gives you the correct off, I mean, Deep cycle If people keep offering Kevin down the A Ryan O Reilly type trade, then just keep Jack Michael as long as you can. I mean, yeah, I'm trying to stay optimistic with Kevin Adams. But if he makes a Ryan O Reilly trade, I think you should be fired. All right. Jonathan is already ready to fire the GM. You know what It's the defining moment of his career. And it will always be his. That's that's what's so tough on Kevin Adams. His entire general manager career. Most of it will be judged on this move this offseason, possibly the next three weeks. That's a lot of pressure. And You can mess it up real easy. A lot of luck involved..

"Because those guys have done everything they can to try and help this team win. But when you look at what the other moves that management has made over the years Those guys have been your top line contributors. I mean, especially when they went on the 10 game win streak. It was Reinhardt, Michael and Jeff Skinner on the left wing. Those guys were putting up all the production and everybody else in the lineup just It wasn't enough. They didn't have the depth to be able to continue that success. After that, 10 game run, you saw the fall back that they had afterwards. I just It is so hard to be able to see. How these guys want to stick around at this point now, especially After all, the losing that they've done. It's really, really tough, and I hate to say it because I want to keep these guys I'm with you there, Bobby, but at the same point If these guys are so set on Being, you know. Moving on. They don't want to be part of a rebuild. I get it. I don't think this team is going to be competitive and be a playoff contender for at least another couple years. Unless the returns they get in the Eichel and Reinhardt traits are so good and they get the right assets back. That it helps them turn around. But I just think it's such a tough task for Kevin Adams, a guy who's only been a general manager for about a year and a half. Now, not even a year and a half. It's only been a little over a full year that he's been at GM, and before that he had zero experience in a front office as a hockey operations manager. He worked as a vice president of Business administration. That's the business side of hockey, not the hockey operation site. It's difficult to kind of pan out and project. It's tough to see why they'd want to stay, but It is what it is. 80305 50 Thank you for the call Bobby. We gotta step aside. Take a break because I got Marty Biron coming up next. He's going to be joining me to talk about the Don Granado hiring the Stanley Cup final. And, uh and, yeah, we'll catch up with Marty for a little bit,.

You know our stance hasn't changed and where we're at, and it's in the hands of the medical experts. That's what I said previously, and it's where we're at right now. So that's the best I can give. You understand the question that you need to answer the question, but that's where we're at. A lot a lot about I go from the zoom call yesterday. I think that would be the most noteworthy part of it. Adams did also say that he had a he was asked about lines of communication to Jeremy's comment, basically said, We talk all the time with lots of players, lots of agents and then a follow up, said specifically, what about Jack's agent? He said. They had the two had a long conversation on Wednesday. Um, angels are angels. I'm sorry, Iculs, representative Peter Fish told The Associated Press. Yes, they are headed towards Resolution. Take that for whatever it means, Since apparently the sabers aren't changing their minds on medical one would think that leads to a trade. But here's a question for you, Jeremy. What are the chances? That Assuming this assuming the trade the trade window is between now and say, the draft because the sandwich would like to get another first round pick in this year's draft, in all likelihood, probably high pick if they can. What are the chances? Adams just looks at the offers and thinks they're not good enough. Maybe teams are low balling because of the contract injury, Whatever. What are the chances that he says? Yeah, It's just not enough value. Jack. We're talking everybody. We're looking at trades, but this isn't fair value, So, no, we're not trading you. Well, okay, Here's one crazy scenario that probably wouldn't happen but would solve a problem. If that happens. You might be afraid. Well, he has a no movement clause that kicks in next year. So if you wanted to say you want to get out of here, the offers aren't right. We want to make it happen for you. People want to see you play. The problem is they don't want to let him play because of the surgery and all that, right. So that's in the way for a moment. Pretend that's not in the way. Okay? Yes, sir. Pretend that's not in the way and he's 100%. You can play this year and he's got to prove it to the league. The Sabres would simply say. All right, um, wave your no movement clause next year. Now you and we'll move you. Yeah, we'll move you. You'll prove it will move you We can talk about it. You know if you want to say maybe we'll give you a four team. No trade list. You know, we'll modify it. You want to prove yourself? We want to make sure that you can't hamstring us into sending us sending you to one team. So for one year this upcoming year will modify that new moment claws and we'll give you eight teams and four teams. The the reality is As long as they have the option of five or six teams. If he proves what he can do, all five teams would be. Oh, yeah, if he's healthy in place like we know he can play. It wouldn't be a problem getting value back now. I think that's all of course very unlikely. He's just gonna get traded instead. But You know if you can't trade him, What do you do your at an impasse, and he doesn't play because he wants the surgery and you don't want to let him get it. So is he continuing the long form rehab and I am. The whole thing is just a mess. That's why Yeah, and that's why I mean I've operated all along that I'm convinced he's going to get traded, but I guess that Yeah. Made me think reading the comment from the agent. You know, you see, we're headed towards a resolution. Of course, your first thought I would think would be the resolution is he gets traded and you know that the GM basically told the agent Yes. Look, we're talking to teams. We've got a lot of stuff going on. You know, he and he's going to get traded and there's your resolution because clearly, the GM yesterday said on behalf of the franchise, they have not changed their mind on the medical situation. They still don't think surgery is the way to go right. So that doesn't change this whole scenario. That's it's the only it's really the first time I thought, Is it possible the resolution is He stays for the time being, and he starts the season here, and he traded by the deadline next year or, you know they get into the off season and he's traded before. What is it July one. The no move kicks in. He would be traded before the no movement clauses kicks in. I think it's a very Low percentage chance, um of happening, but I thought about it yesterday only from the standpoint of the pressure. That's on Kevin Adams. I don't I don't think he should. Operator is operating and I've just got to take whatever I can. For Eichel. I have to trade him. I have no choice. And even if I don't like any of the offers, I just have to make take the best. Of the bunch and move on. And I think that would be a bad way to operate a few The Buffalo Sabres. So I try just brought it up. I just was wondering We went with the chances in doesn't get a trade worked out and says it's just not good enough for us. I'm still expecting a trade tap. Yeah, me too. Sadly and you know, and Reinhardt to. I don't think anything changed yesterday, listening to Kevin Adams. Uh, he actually was asked One of the questions he was asked was in relation to the whole comment about. We want guys who want to be here. And basically, he was asked when you say we want guys that want to be here. Are you essentially singling out? Michael Reinhardt wrist alignment Because here's cycle talking about a disconnect, Reinhardt seemed rather You know, not wasn't really excited on his zoom calling. We're still line and basically said, I don't care if I'm here. I'm traded, which is kind of the definition of you don't necessarily want to be here and he did, you know? No, no, We're not singling anybody out. It's you know, it's the attitude Everybody's got to have. It's not just one guy. Two guys are three guys, but basically nothing You would have heard in the zoom call yesterday would have made you think anything other than They're going to trade Eichel. They're probably going to trade Reinhart and you would think they move on from risk the line and because Why not? You know, um or he'll be exposed in the expansion draft. And maybe you trade him at that point. I don't think anything changed yesterday from the zoom call with that There wasn't NHL trade yesterday. That I think with all these potential Sabres moves looming, I can't help but think I wonder if that's a setup Move, Viktor Arvidsson. Right. Traded to, um the King's Yep. Viktor Arvidsson. A nice player. Yeah, I like Viktor Arvidsson and I immediately thought Ezeli getting him because they want a couple more pieces. If they trade for Jack Eichel that they would send away or do they think this is a nice piece to go with Jack Eichel, but immediately Don't know how you feel about Viktor Arvidsson. I mean, maybe not. Everybody knows him Brighton on how you feel about it immediately thinking about an NHL or you might want to return in an Eichel deal. I thought of Victor Robertson. I think he's a good, solid NHL or that I would like in a package if I'm going to make some sort of trade Well, they had They had some scoring on the wing. Um, my first thought, well, my thoughts on that in terms of how it potentially could impact on the Kings and Michael is that They first off. They didn't give a first round pick. They give up a second and the third. They didn't have to give up any top prospects. They didn't give up. I don't think they gave up just the two picks right so they didn't give up a body. And they didn't give up their best draft capital. So all that's still on the table..

"Blatantly unfair. Oh, Come on, please. 100% accurate. Like what? You sort of have one topic in mind. And Paul will call in and just bring up something completely different. I do that. I do that all the time. Uh, poor Paul. Come on. You re met when he was. It was more when he was in the building. That's obviously he would call the show. But like he'd be he'd be doing sports but with us a long time ago now. And we'd be having a conversation and he would just interject the like Most non sequiturs things into the conference table. What are you doing? Why are you killing us right now? Alright would text you from the newsroom. Right? Right. Alright, Paul, Your career speaks for itself as far as I'm concerned, but I don't know. I don't know. Maybe Bulldogs right? Paul Hamilton on the West. Her hotline. Don Granado at the press conference today. He's got that White board behind him. The stuff is written on it. You get anything off of that board? I didn't know. No, I didn't take anything away, okay? In a five field. Pennsylvania is the number two center. I gave it a good two minutes, but I couldn't read anything on there that matter to me. All right? What they make David? What the hell? What? What? What did you take out of today? Lot. I mean, there is nothing really new or anything like that. You know, you know Kevin Adams and you know don Granado there They're pros when it comes to dealing with the media and that type of thing, and, uh You know they're not And, uh, you know, maybe I'm naive, saying that I don't remember Granado lying to us last year. Adams doesn't like to do that, either, but you know, he there are things he's just not going to talk about, so he'll beat around the Bush and he did. He had to be asked twice if he's actually had a conversation with Jack.

"Sabres and a lot of your listeners are trying not going to want to hear this, but I look at it. I say the flavors are in a no win situation. They got a guy who wants out and it has the injury with the neck injury that everyone seems to be so worried about was how to fix it and everything. But how do you sell that and get what he probably would get if he were 100% healthy in a different situation? I don't see how they can get a ton for him. They can get something good for him. Sure, but you know these reports about how they want to win the trade and how you know you have to be kind of a landslide deal to move them. What's the alternative? That is Brian Hedger from the Columbus Dispatch. He was on the show yesterday as we Circles through a few different potential stops in the Jack Eichel sweepstakes and to see who might be interested in who are the top prospects are Should the sabers actually pull a deal for Michael at some point today? Hang on Blackhawks 9 30 this morning we'll be chatting with Dave Kerner WBBM radio in Chicago about possible Blackhawks. Interest in Mr Eichel. You think Kevin Adams has run into any GM that Makes the point. You know, as the cycle thing has kind of played out. Some thought Michael was Opening up the curtain to tell everybody what happened with him and the Sabres the disconnect to kill his trade value or to force a trade right? Had he not done that. Had that not become public knowledge about the surgery and all that. Where would we be right now? I wouldn't be feeling that It's a foregone conclusion. He's on his way out. We might let's just say that he didn't say everything about that. That he said would Drager still report looks like a foregone conclusion. Would we be basically asking Why? What's happened? How could it have? How could the relationship had gotten so bad? We probably would just accept. That it's this way because of losing a desire to play for a different franchise. That, um I don't know operates a different way. But I guess I want to know what I'm asking is That that press conference kind of let everybody see about the disconnect and some thought that would kill his trade value. Well, if he wants to get traded, he wouldn't want to kill his trade value. Wouldn't he be doing that? Because he feels like there will be teams that will see this as an opportunity and get me out of here. If that's in fact what he was trying to do, he might have just been trying to tell the truth, You know, just Hey, this is what this is. Why? It's so bad right now. Yeah, I wonder, um, the the easy answer. Well, first off. Circling back, we'd be wondering what the heck is going on. It's entirely possible if that zoom call never took place, or Aigle never said what he said It's entirely possible. The draggers and the Friedmans of the world might still have be reporting. Hey, the Sabres are taking calls on Eichel, right? I mean, they did it. What was it a year ago or whatever it was That the Rangers had called and there were reports that they were, you know, at least taking phone calls. They weren't necessarily serious about doing anything. It wasn't the right time, right? Is that how it was portrayed? I think we'd still hear those guys reporting and then I would be going I would deduce. I would say. Okay, well, if I could wants out, it's because he's tired of the losing. He must have gone to his agent said. Listen, I want to get out of here. I want to make the playoffs and I'm tired of spinning my wheels here and you know, going through all and another coach is coming in and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I would assume he was unhappy went to the agent and the agent asked Kevin Adams. Please try and trade my guy. But By him coming out and holding the zoom. Call it to me. Um, I guess for me, Jeremy. It made me realize. Okay, He's definitely out. I would have been not surprised. If there was no zoom call that I could be unhappy, but I would still look at him. Go well, screw it. I don't care if he's happy or unhappy, Say Sabres build a better team. He'll be happy. We'll all be happy. Start winning hockey games. But don't trade Jack Eichel. What are you crazy? Eichel zoom call made me realize. Okay, forget that reasoning. He's gone. For whatever. Whatever reason, the disconnect the injury, the losing all this stuff. The zoom call was I don't think the relationship is irreparable. And that's the significance of that day. And those comments for me I just felt like that meant there was a point of no return now. Well, does that mean But but I actually get before you let me get back to the other point you brought up about leverage. And and what is it? Yeah, so If I were Eichel Um, like I think a lot of people would see that and say, Well, what the heck is he doing? He just made it tougher. Didn't make a mistake, Pers. Did you make a mistake that day because his emotions correct. And and that's in that scenario. If he does that with, you know, a ton of emotion, which it seemed like he did. You know, I think we all think, and there's a reason to think this that Any player that did what he did that day. Has a mission has a point? He's going to do it, right. You know, he and his agent have a plan. It's also possible that he came right out of this because when it all happened, he was late. He was in his exit meeting right in his exit zoom call, And I guess his agent might be on the call. Who knows?.

"I don't know it was going to win on the same way. I don't know who's going to that did get easier last couple years. No. Right, usually like no, they're not. Probably not. You could Paul you could have, you know, at least stuck your neck out a little bit. I mean, it was easier to predict this team that it has been other times it has, but they surprise you every now and that's right and win a game that they weren't supposed to, or whatever. And A decent so, uh, that's hockey. Yeah. Well, um, here we are again without any sort of Exactly any sort of development. We didn't just listen to these comments from Darren Dreger about how he thought he says he thought there could have been an announcement for Granado this week. Paul. It sounds from listening to him like Coach Search is over. And that's what I had told you on. Um, yesterday. I think it was two days ago that Had been hearing the same thing that, uh, you know, it probably could come down this week and somewhere, expecting it to Um I too would say the same thing. What would the holdup be? The only hold up would be as if Number one. You wanted to talk to one of the assistant coaches there in the final Now. Final three. When we talked last time it was final four. Or, you know, there's some type of a hold up in the guy you've chosen who is not named Granado and maybe a contract thing or something like that. You know that you're that you're trying to get all figured out. So, but I too believe that you know, it probably will be Don Granado and, uh, I won't say I'm surprised They didn't announce this week. Not nothing, really in the in sports surprises me too much anymore. Um, but, yeah, it's it's getting down to it and you've done your due diligence. You've done your interviews. Now It's time to move forward Paul and your experience covering these sorts of things. Would would you expect to that? The Sabres in talking with You know who matter? I guess they could decide who they want to disclose this to exactly amongst the candidates, and it sounds like they've talked to quite a quite a large number of guys about this job. Um, what would you think they would be divulging like, Look, we're going to trade Jack. Michael here. Here's what we're hoping to get. Or maybe even not even telling him what? We're hoping to get What? We're going to trade him. Like, Don't don't come in here. We shouldn't be talking about you taking this job or us hiring you for this job. With you thinking you're going to get to coach Jack like a well, maybe even Sam Reinhart. I don't know how far you want to go down the list. Wrist align is another one who's in the last year and sounds like, you know, he certainly welcome getting out of here. So when Kevin Adams says, we want guys who want to be here, I feel like those three guys very obviously are not not in line with that, Um, would they be telling these candidates That up front or do you think that they would be playing it more conservatively? I don't even think they'd have to. I think it's fairly well known that the Sabres have decided they're trading Jack Eichel. Now that could change. How How could that change? Well, you don't get fair value. Well, then you don't trade Jack Eichel. I mean, unless you're not a very good GM. But if you're good GM and you can't get fair value, then Jack Eichel's just going to have to suck it up and Play here or whatever. They're going to have to go to some sort of arbitration on the injury or whatever move forward, But I still will staunchly maintained. You just don't Take the best offer available, but you know they've made the decision that they want to move on from Jack Eichel, and he does not fit what Adam's vision is for this team, and, uh, So you know that's that's what they're going to try to do, And I think that's fairly well known knowledge. I don't think Adams would have to spell it out for somebody, but I'm sure he will be happy to in that type of an interview situation. Now next week if they introduced Granado. Well, we should we expect All parties to maintain that they haven't decided on that yet, right? Because they're not going to say I don't know how. I don't know how Adams will word it. But I doubt he would say we have decided to trade Jack Eichel. But he would fight because I don't remember. I asked him. I said, We're asking the wrong question here. We keep asking you. Michaels asked to be traded. Have you decided you're going to trade Eichel? He didn't say no right. He kind of danced around it somewhat. But it didn't say no, that's when he got into. You know, we want players here that want to be here, and that's how we're going to build this club and you know when you know how he went through the whole thing that way. So you know, he'll find a way to get around that, But, yeah, I say nothing surprised me That was shocked me if he came out, said No. We've decided trade Jack Eichel. Guys. If you'll indulge me for a moment, I just had a thought. It's It's something that's popped into my head a couple of different times, while the three of us have been talking over the last couple of weeks here Um, is it possible that the holed up in an announcement on the head coach even specifically on Granado, his head coach? Is because they don't want to deal with questions about Eichel or in even even for not just the trade, but his health, right? I mean, we we We're well past that deadline. We last time, Kevin Adams spoke, He said they'd have information to share. Soon and we're three weeks past soon here, I think, um so like, I wonder if they're just trying to avoid having to sit there and fend off speculation about both Iculs health status and his trade status. You know, it's 11 reason why you might want to wait to hire your coach until after Eichel is traded like Dreger said Today, he thinks that they'll hire the coach before Iculs traded one reason the way it is to avoid having to answer questions about Eichel. 100% and you as you said, and I think it's an excellent topic an excellent point. Especially if it's don Granado. What's the rush? If you've decided to hire don Granada and you've told him so?.

Most definitely will have interest. What is the package look like they're the Anaheim Ducks will have interest. Columbus is looking for a one center. I don't think Columbus has the assets to Philadelphia. Philadelphia definitely wants to make a splash Montreal know Well, where? Where's Calgary? Where's Calgary and Mac? It took at these days. I mean, good question. Now that that matter, Chuck signed that bridge Steel with a huge qualifying offer of $9 million with the purpose right so he could control the process. He's not even as a restricted free agent. Uh, it feels like a stretch for me. Um, you know, even though Michael can't control this process Yeah. You can have conversations with General Max pictures as agents where you just say, Don't bother. Don't bother. I mean, you, you know, e guess he's gonna acquire the peace without any bonified protection. I don't even know. Does he have these two young for trade protection, right? I should have his contact. Michael. Yeah. Michael has one more year before is no more kicks in. So it kicks in before the 22 season. But I guess that's the question drags his eye. I don't think And maybe it's me being the person I am. I don't think he gets traded this summer. I think he has to play some hockey and the sabers have next year to be able to evaluate But You have been in in, you know, hockey for a lot longer than we have in the media like, what's your sense You're getting on the phones is that trade happening before the start of next season? Well, only if you get what you absolutely need, and I understand that position to um if you know the top end, players aren't available in a package. Then what's the rush again? You control the asset here on D only way. There's a push on this is if this is a big if Pakula's just say we've had enough. We've had enough So you've got to find the best deal and we expected to be a terrific deal. We don't want to have to deal with the bad press and everything else that's going to go along with this. On Gluck. Unless something has changed very recently. Jack hasn't asked for a trade. I mean, when you go back to last year, there's semantics. All of that. I think based on how he approached the media on Monday, It feels likely that that's what he's angling for in the bigger picture, but the sabers control it so as as long as Kevin Adams has the flexibility to manage this process entirely to its conclusion. There's no guarantee that he gets traded, and maybe it's more likely he doesn't because of the fear factor that exists and what Frank reporting when Elliot is suggesting and how I feel. I just I don't think teams is much respected appreciation they have for Jack, I I don't think they're stepping up with their top prospects. I just don't And if they're not there, then maybe the answer is you hold on to Jack and see what happens. I ask one more team, a team that Be honest with you. I haven't heard any inklings that they're even interested in this, but I'm going to throw a team out there and you just tell me it's the Vancouver Canucks. Allies. Patterson this year had an injury riddled season. I know the Travis Green and couple articles that I wrote was not happy with his play, and is there an opportunity there? Where you can make a trade for lives. Peterson for Jack Eichel. Hmm. I can't say no, I haven't heard. That s O. I'm reluctant to say yes, I know that Jim Benning. Every conversation I've had about those young players. Patterson, for sure he's looking forward to Podkolzin coming in. He's looking forward to, you know the further development of hope Berg. He's God, Bester and horror about all those good young pieces. Um I'd be surprised rubs. I'd be surprised. And you know the Vancouver Canucks even though they've got more flexibility coming, you know, just with the expiring contracts and whatever else they're not entirely out of cap purgatory here. So and what it would be Patterson and what I mean, again. Um, it was it would be a big person. And maybe another Another player. Um, you know for for Jack, because I I honestly when I when I look at it Ah, Last Patterson, you know he's a sentiment and league his first two years. He had fantastic numbers in his first two years. He's still a very young guy 22 you just turned 22 years old. He's a real deal. First Line center in this league, so no question. I just I don't know. Aside from getting again, a bona fide star in Michael, assuming he's healthy I don't think that bending in the Vancouver connection know yet what before Developmental upside of Paterson is And because of that, it's still too early. It's too early to pull that trigger. Yes, and hockey Insider Darren Dragger. Joining us here is he always does Friday's now at 11. If your regular listener for a long time we know there are millions of you so he's normally in 11 thirties. He's agreed to come on earlier. So we for this exact reason, So we have more time another conversation that's going to be had in Buffalo. I know there, Sam Reinhart and I know there's Rasmus crystalline, and I'm sure you have thoughts on those guys as well. But Don Granato, who is my front runner for the head coach for next year for many different reasons that don't matter right now because you're here. What are you hearing, Kevin Adams said that he wants to go through the process. Hey, learned a lot from the process of hiring the American League coaches. I think it's Zawisza. Move s. You can gain relationships so What are you hearing who could be interviewed and is dangling out of the front runner? I think you asked to be just because he's an internal candidate. It was proven on the job that he can do the job that the players have responded to him that he deserves more time. To help get hockey operations back on track s. Oh, that's my personal view of Don Granado and I look historically at his track record and the success that he has with young players and developing and that's what the Buffalo sabers are going to need moving forward. Beyond that I also tons of time for Kevin Adams and Jason Karmanos and the group going through this process. I mean, how do you experience and learn from it until you go through it? What's the rush? There's no rush in in any of this. It's not disrespectful to done Bernado that the season ends and you don't furnish him with Ah contract offer to be the head coach, moving forward. S o. You know, you look the usual suspects. We know that the jar Gallant whose head you lopped trio with Team Canada tomorrow. Two actors, Canada's head coach at the men's World championship, is interviewing and perhaps has already talked to Chris Story. With the New York Rangers about their vacancy. I'd be real surprised. If Rick talk it doesn't get a good look at that New York Rangers job. Why wouldn't Buffalo inquire on these guys? You know it Z not like I mean, there's a difference today, where the New York Rangers are as compared to where the Buffalo sabers are, and you look at some of the other teams with coaching vacancies, and I guess you could apply that same logic. But the men that we're talking about here Ondo experience, guys, especially in pocket and gland in Boudreau. I mean, our Boudreau story go down, the less these are the guys who wanna work in the National Hockey League again. And they wanna work. So you're just you're gaining experience. If you're Kevin Kevin Adams going to the process, But I'd be I'd be surprised if Don Bernardo isn't top of the list going in, or at least at whatever point they're in. The process now drag so many things in my mind right now and only a couple of minutes. So if and I loved on Granado, I think he's a great coach. But if they go that route, are we thinking rebuild for the sabers that's about the young players development. Not about plate making playoffs next year. It's about gradually getting better. Is that one in my second question is you talked about Chris Terreri World Championship..

"I haven't even brought up the discussion about Kevin Adams because I just think it's a nonstarter. They're not to the previous caller to theirs. Salad. You correct me if you're if you're thinking differently, there isn't a single piece of me that thinks they're going to fire the general manager and he's entrusted with with hiring the next coach. They just entrusted to general manager with hiring a new assistant general manager. They have apparently decided, OK, we had too many cuts in the hockey personnel Department. Hey, Kevin, hire some people back to help us with scouting. Like they're putting their all their eggs are in the Kevin Adams basket. Now, if you want to talk about and I've never been fun of the whole president of hockey ops, But maybe in this situation with the young GM, it is a good idea that if anything, changes with the structure of the sabers There's no way they're firing the general manager right now, I would say they would bring in a president of hockey operations, and I don't know that they would do that either. Quite honestly, I don't see that happening. But no Kevin Adams now isn't getting fired. I think I will tell you, though, is I didn't expect to Murray to get firewood. Maybe some people did. But I think Miles more was okay. Maybe. But then Murray not born as well, right? But then also remember, it was. We were all kind of We were told that house Lee was a housefly. Right? I'm I think it was kind of blends in all together. Doesn't it sound after a while? It kind of all meshes together, right? I think that happened. So at the point I'm making is you can always be surprised This would be completely shocking unless something really went wrong between ownership and the GM car As you just laid out, he has been entrusted. To even higher his assistant, and to get through this to hire a new coach. It seems like so that's not happening. You'd have to you. You have to have some kind of scenario like this would have unfolded right. Something happened to permanently fracture. The relationship between the GM and ownership and May Okay, I'll just I'll just narrow it down to this cycle Discussion. Like you know, the owners want no part of trading. I call in the GM says Listen, we're gonna have to do it. Well, you know, not really. I'll fire you and get somebody who doesn't trade I call for the job or reverse it. You know, maybe maybe it's the other way you'd have to have a major major disagreement or all of a sudden somehow, whatever. Kevin Adams vision for the hockey team going forward is all of a sudden it. Is Completely opposite of whatever the Pakula's vision for this hockey team is, I just don't see I would be. You should never go on the air, I guess especially when talking about Buffalo sports teams sound and say you'd be shocked by something. Although yesterday was quite surprising to me, I'd be shocked. If that happened. They will entrust they have and will entrust Kevin Adams, if need be. With trading Jack Eichel and getting the best possible return. You can. I don't see that changing. I don't see. I don't even see someone like a veteran guy coming in as president. They're going to hire a president of hockey ops because they know they're trading Eichel. And they wouldn't trust the GM to get the better deal. So we're gonna bring another guy and put him in the chart above the GM. Well, then you would just fire the GM and find somebody else for the job, and that's not happening. We circle back to that. We've talked a lot, and there's been a lot of suggestions over the years about you hiring a president of hockey operations. Hockey's our If you will, however, you want to phrase it. It just seems like it's something that they're not interested in doing for whatever reason that is. I don't see it happening here. It could. And I think there have been arguments for and against it logical ones over the years, but it just doesn't seem like that's going to happen any time. I don't know. And I know you look, we used to talk about it with the bills. If you hire the right GM and the right people, you're fine. I mean, you don't need a president of football operations Brandon beans there and and Joe Shane and Brian gain and I don't have to go through the whole front office there and McDermott. They're all there, and they're fine. It's almost like you know what sound if I'm not looking at this from ownership standpoint, because I believe when it comes to the sabers. I'm thinking back to what conversation we had with Kevin weeks of a couple months ago from NHL network. It was a depressing conversation, and basically he was saying In a nutshell. The word around the league is that ownership gets too involved with the hockey team. They have no idea what they're doing. And they screw all this stuff up. The only way you bring in a president of hockey ops, I think, and it wouldn't be ownership. Is if you wanted to get Another voice in there to kind of run almost like run interference, like keep ownership away from the GM. If you think the Pakula's are making are involved too much And they're getting too much involved in who sign and who's not. And who is this? And who is that, and that's the real problem you might look at. If you're Kevin, just go. Listen. I need another guy to run interference in the organization. We got to keep the per goal is busy with something else You'd hire another person to basically keep the big old is away from day to day operations. Well, that's the problem. Ownership's not going to do that, right? I mean, I don't have an Adam's unwanted. Only Kevin Adams can go. It would be the GM is the one to make that call right And that's why this I don't think it's going to happen. But you don't get the GM go toe ownership would say Hey, look. I know you trust me. Thank you very much. I'm going to do my best. But I tell you what, you know what we really need. We could use another hockey executive in this department, not an assistant GM, not an associate GM. We need a president of hockey operations to oversee the hockey department and help me out and all this on a day to day basis, And that person can kind of be a liaison with you and Just again. I don't think that's going to happen. No, I agree with you. I think there's been a lot of suggestions and talk about it and people want to get over the years and every time it's come up. It just seems like it's it's a dead end. It's it's just something that they don't want to do. We will get more of your calls. If you're on hold. Hang on. We're talking all morning long about Jack Eichel's.

"Aidan my boy. All right exactly so lots to get to here. Start with the hockey, always a safe bet to start with hockey, and is kind of weird timing of this whole thing, because we've just gone through Cova, women played hockey game in over three months now and the buffalo sabres suddenly decide yet. We're firing everybody. They cleaned house today. Firing their general manager Jason. They also fired Randy Sexton who is the former Ottawa senators GM from way back in the day. Yeah, and He's the assistant GM in Buffalo. He's gone as well and Kevin Adams who played the NHL for quite a while. He's been hired as the new GM. In role with the Buffalo Sabres, so he takes over as the new general manager. It's all very odd I mean. The sabers have struggled. BOTTERILL was kind of a golden boy. He was with those great Pittsburgh teams as the assistant GM their buffalo hires when they think okay. We got the know this this hot commodity, and it did not go well in Buffalo. They never made the playoffs in the three seasons. He's been there and so the revolving door continues in Buffalo. But what about the timing? Why now why not like you know two three months ago? The quote from goal is Teri and Kim who owned the team. They said this decision was made after many candid discussions with Jason during a full review of our hockey operation. We recognized we have philosophical differences regarding how best to put ourselves in a position to compete for a Stanley Cup, so we decided to make this change, and this was just three weeks after. Kim, Pohjola told the Associated Press that borrows job was secure and he'd be returning for a fourth season, so that goes also into the open ended question I have. Why now what? What's the deal with this timing with? We haven't played any hockey. Your new buffalo was out of it why? Why have you decided all of a sudden like? It's almost like some sort of inner. Blow up occurred. Or maybe because a Lotta fans wanted this guy gone for some of the moves. He made like Ryan O'Reilly. If you have a moment checkout Ryan Riley in the trade. That buffalo made there. Two years ago, Buffalo traded him away for three guys and a draft pick. Really none of the guys have worked out Ryan. Reilly immediately won the Stanley Cup most valuable player a season after he was dealt, so. Sabre fans are pissed. Maybe maybe that got to them after a while when they finally said man this guy so unpopular. We're GONNA make a trade. We're going to change. No. That's not the reason, okay? No, it's not the reason the the reason it happens. Where was getting into? Is the owners in the in the League the teams? Get word that there may be some guys available. The thing I I understand that that in general certainly can be the case if Kevin Adams their new GM was seen as a hot commodity around the League, and maybe he is maybe I'm just not hearing it, but I don't think he has the resume, or and like I said I haven't heard anything about him being A. A a the next up and comer. But Kevin Adams was the senior vice president of Business Administration for the Buffalo Sabres He really has had a long resume of working directly as either a GM or an assistant GM in the NHL. select see one of those things before I start saying yeah. Yeah, it's a guy. That's the next guy so I don't know if it applies here or not. Maybe I think in general. What you're saying is true, but I'm not sure if it applies to this particular situation. So, it's It's an interesting deal. Though because the ghouls who are loaded by the way, they're exactly the kind of owners you want their Saber fans at heart. Like Terry grew up being a saber fan, and he's got so so much money, and so it's Kinda an ideal situation there, but sometimes, when you're a passionate fan on top of being the really wealthy guy, your patients level ain't real high. You have kind of that fan mentality and he's now gone through think. Is Ralph. Krueger's been there for one year. He's now gone through I. Think it's six head coaches in about seven or eight years, and now he's on his third or fourth general manager in that same time period so like I say it's been a bit of a revolving door. What we got the same owner here same type of cates right Scott endless platoons of cash right and was a massive weather. Anyway, my theory will be proven Steve. I bet what happens. Is they name a guy within forty eight to seventy two hours? That will that will prove. My thing that they got a guy in mind they hurt. He was out there wham. Let's lock them up turf. The other guy let's get going. Kevin Adams has been hired. He's their general manager. Oh I see! Oh let's already done done and done. Oh, all right like I say I was I was trying to give your your theory some credibility, because if Kevin Adams were guy that were highly saw after a round, the NHL as maybe being GM somewhere else all. Let's give it a botterill, and we're hearing Kev. Adams might leave, so let's give him the GM job now. Okay, that's reasonable, but Kevin Adams is our. It's already a done deal. He is the GM of the Buffalo Sabres well there we go I. Should I guess I missed that. That's all good. Okay moving right along to the next thing and the issue of hazing in junior hockey has come up again to former member of the kitchener rangers. That alleges hazing a couple of years ago. The guy's name is Eric guest and he played three seasons for the Rangers and last year was his first year out a hockey.
