"Guys, listening to recent episode of the Bill Barnwell show with me Bill Barnard in terms of the broader see FOX organization in terms of their water off season, independent of what may or may not happen with Russell Wilson. What do you think of what they've done so far? You surprised are you is it pretty much right in line with you expected. You think there's more they might do in advance of the draft. Or maybe after the draft in terms of adding an veteran talent. Yeah. I think at this point, you know, they are projected to have, you know, all four of their compensatory picks next year just because they've been relatively inactive in free agency and had a much guys leave. So I think that right now, I think they are intent on keeping those four picks. That's why you've seen the deals that they've done recently last week. It was NATO orchard and Tacitus Mara to pass rushers who were cut by their previous team. So therefore don't affect the the complex situation. I think that is sort of been their goal and will continue to be their goal is to add guys, but not at the expense of of you know. Draft picks. So you know, this has sort of been a somewhat cynical off season for them. And you know, it's not the type of off-season that's gonna get fans really excited. But this points before free agency that you have to go back to two thousand fifteen and Kerry Williams of all people, we all know how. But you know, carry Williams was the last guy that they signed outside three Asians that they signed to both your deal more than like five million dollars and ever since. Then if in, you know, either one year deals worth a little bit more, or it's been, you know, those those sort of middle tier just sort of inexpensive veteran guys they really have not made a big splash says Carrie Williams, and you know, they've also they made the big Percy Harvard trade to fourteen and made Jimmy Graham trade two years later, but for the most part that has sort of been teams in free agency is sort of, you know, staying out of of the big spending in the early wave and going after those value plays. So as an exciting as it might be. And you might look at in a lot of other teams got better, and they didn't really get better. They just sort of stood Pat. But that's that's really been their MO. I think for for the last few years. I absolutely agree is their position you think they might try address via trade the problem is they just don't have a whole lot to trade right now. At least in terms of draft picks only have four draft picks. Just because a lot of the trade that they've made in the past. There was you know, the traits. That's why they don't have a second rounder, you know, Shalom lewanda backup safety in the sixth round bread. Holly last year in the seventh round round they have gotten those two mixed up. But at any rate, they only have four picks. They don't have a ton of trade. I think in terms of these something that they might address the draft is is still edge rusher. You know, I mentioned that they side Martian Nate orchard. I think those are two short term fixes that position. That is still a big need for them, especially when you consider that Frank Clark playing a franchise tag. And you know, as we talked about earlier, there's really no guarantee that. They're going to be able to pay him just given the, you know, the landscape of who else is is up for contract. So I think I think edge rusher still defensive tackle a run stuffing defensive tackle just because of how poor their run defense was last year and Bill under interesting one is wide receiver. And I think that is tied a lot to Doug Baldwin situation. You know, he had a brutal year last year. It terms of injuries. It was just one injury after another. We know he's going in for either has had or he's about to have his third surgery of the off season. And interestingly back at the owners meetings a couple of weeks ago with p Carol confirmed that he was gonna have that third surgery. I asked and okay is this it, we know he's had shoulder surgery. The knee surgery. He's gonna have the sports. Hernia surgery. Is it is there anything else, and he didn't say definitively that would be it? So I think you've got a you've got to start, you know, looking hard at finding eventual successor for Doug Baldwin, whether that's this year or next year. Just because again juries have taken a toll on his body and. Also, just in sort of emotionally so receiver position I could see them targeting early in the draft in addition to address her and fortunately for them. It's a pretty good draft reg rushers. Yeah. Absolutely. I think that makes sense that they would target that position. I with traffic's they do have Brady, it's always a pleasure to have you on. I mean, I certainly if we have more developments in the Russell Wilson situation. I will certainly have you back on I agree with you. I think it just the logical thing to play out the way that I think we both expect Russell wasn't to sign a big deal. You know to maybe thirty five million dollars a year. You know, the quarterback's you brought up and just think about that. I think about the they're making pre Russell Wilson. I would be willing to pay thirty five million dollars to not go back to Charlie Whitehurst and Matt Flynn as my quarterback options such as me. I don't think you're allowed there worth thing. All allow that Bill April fifteenth is the deadline, right? But the question I'm asking is. Okay. Well, what if the Seahawks come to him in June? You know with the deal that he's wanted all along when he turned that down on principle, or you know, what if they're making really good progress. They haven't had to deal done by fifteenth. But you know, Wilson side feels like they're making really good progress wouldn't be he'd be open to extending that go shooting window so fifteenth we we've heard that the deadline, but I wouldn't rule up off ability that if if they feel like they're making good progress..

"Jillian happens to be the immaculate reception which is the greatest plane history of football, or at least was up until the Phillies special, which is now the greatest plane history football. How can we say anything else? Okay. It was throwing my Terry Bradshaw. Who is one of the great quarterbacks in the history of football. And it's funny because my radio went on the Fritz the other day, and it was not the Jack Fritz, but I swear to God, I heard you say that Terry Bradshaw. Was either the most overrated quarterback in the history or not a particularly good court. How did this guy win Super Bowl, by the way? He won four. I don't want to miss characterize what you said. So tell me what stupid thing you said. Thing. I said is he's one of the most overrated quarterbacks of all time. He had an fifty one percent completion percentage. I understand. It's a different era wholly different era of defense and everything but a little bit fifty one. Pretty close to completing less specify Flint. He had a two hundred twelve to two hundred and ten touchdown interception ratio, basically one to one he won because of a great defense. He won because he played in an era where the best teams can keep all the great players. He's the these are Troy Aikman of the seventy s great quarterback propped up by everybody around him. Yeah. Well, he did plan a great team. And there's a lot of hall of famers on that team and deservedly. So and by the way, I'm in no sense. A Steelers fan I'm just kind of looking at the integrity of history. And this is where when you just look at stats, you don't see the true picture. Okay. This is where and I'm a I'm a stack eek myself. I was reading I was getting Bill James when he was putting this stuff out a mimeograph before it was even a book, sending it out by mail. Yes. This is grew. I really was when he would type it into thing. And Xerox it. But Terry Bradshaw. Yeah. The stats aren't great. Certainly by any stretch. It was a different era. He's the only quarterback to throw a touchdown pass in the fourth quarter four different Super Bowls. And what I'm speaking to is. He was one of those guys who was always able to elevate his performance on the biggest stage. His greatness was not that he was playing Cleveland Tober and throw in to intercept writes his greatness was that when it came to be back, then plants probably started in December, January whatever he was magnificent. And was always always that big game player, and it was the dead ball era. So you're saying that he was the Nick foles of the seventies. Well, he was when Nick foles wins four we got one in one in the hand, we got one in the Bank. We got a few to go. All right. We got a couple minutes. Let me ask you give me, you know, you're rundown of what you expect to see what you wanna see. I think we're to see a lot of points today last week was a weird game. Great the best defense in the NFL on the road. I thought the eagles took them a while to get themselves in sync. I thought Doug. Last week was trying through balance for the sake of balance. And then at some point in the second Athi realize I got to put the ball in Nick's hands. I think earlier today, Glenn they put the ball in Nick's hands. And I think he's going to have a big day. I I could see today being like that Texan game. Where could throws the ball forty five times. And he four hundred yards. We'll see how many points out. But I I think there's place to be made for the eagles on offense. So I think we're going to see a game that gets close to the thirties if not into the thirties for both sides. I think we're in for shootout. Okay. A few things have to happen in everything. I'm about to say is really really obvious. Can't lose the turnover battle amazingly. They beat the Chicago Bears last week. They turn the ball over twice the bears. Did not that doesn't happen. You cannot lose the turnover battle drew Brees. Threw five all season, which means next. Gotta be perfect. Okay. I think they're going to need something on special teams. And it would be great if it's a guarantee. Roles return be awesome. Right. If you remember the playoff game that the eagles lost to the saints. When chip was the coach, they they Nick foles left the field with the lead in the fourth quarter. Layton to four hours, right? And they kicked off to Darren sproles he returned it for thirty eight yards. And then there was a penalty a horse collar penalty on Kerry Williams and that killed him. They end up losing that game. That doesn't happen. If they get a good return from sproles from falls. They can win this game. They can. And that's where I'm going eagles gonna win. We're back here next week. We're back here next week everybody. Enjoy the game that's going to wrap up the PICO, smart ideas..

"Dan, west Westchester joins us, Dan. How are you? How are you? Good. Thanks. I just have one statement real quote. I wanted to make how about them Cowboys. See we we do that in Philadelphia. I want the eagles to win tomorrow. I'm not gonna I don't want to spend time worrying about the Cowboys sign. I just don't I don't care about the Cowboys came about the eagles. Okay. I just the Cowboys had won tonight. The eagles would have taken them out next week. Hopefully, or whatever this I'm happy they lost. But part of me was kind of hoping they would win because I think the eagles wanna take them out for sure. And now they have to take out the saints. The Rams and all I once an eagle Super Bowl. But I understand what you're saying. One hundred percent. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I just wanted to make that point. But I am so tomorrow. So. Have to do to win this game. This is the thing. I wanted to talk about I was looking at the teachers and stuff and how to stop the saints. And it looks like, you know, the Panthers and stuff looks like they were rushing four guys. And then at the lead with with five guys. So it's almost like going to have to wash four that way. Got a mood changed the one thing. They have to do is get debris if they don't get to breeze. Goodnight. Irene because breeze, very rarely as a bad day. Let me ask you this. Dan to me drew Brees is the greatest quarterback of all time. Not not simply that statement. But at reading a defense pre snap, and that seems to always hurt the eagles it hurt him in the playoff game few years ago. He seemed to know what they were doing before the snap. I didn't him sports has to change it up. You blitz him you usually dead. But if you don't blitz him, he usually debt as well. I agree you have to pick your spots. But you have to get to breeze. Do you agree with me? Yes. Absolutely. He throws at like fifteen yard pass over the medal. And it's so accurate. But it always kills teams. You know, I think what they need to do is a lot of times just jump routes tried to get a couple of turnovers from him. Don't play scared. We got to be careful with avant manage from announced last week, and it almost cost them the game. Yeah. If you're going to jump products, you better have plans on and. Have a safety back. You gotta be very careful with that. Because obviously high risky was high reward. But it also equals just itself high risk. So I agree you have to take risks against this offense or just hope for has a horrendous day, and that doesn't usually happen. Especially in a perfect environment like the dome. Yeah. Yeah. No doubt that one that everybody talks about the saints. You know, not too long ago when we lost in the playoffs. I remember seven with Jeff Garcia that was a really tough one to take. I don't take back for that one too. So you the last coach to beat the saints in a playoff game in New Orleans is the less Saint to the play. Oh, yeah. Tight though. But you never listened to those games. Don't matter the saints haven't lost in a while. But these guys aren't those guys lost and thirteen with Nick foles who you know, he left the field with a lead and Darren sproles. Now, the dumps face NASCAR Kerry Williams. Yeah. It was last week. The special teams could hurt us. Also, the kickoff return, but scary to just gotta have things go, right? Gotta turn the ball over. I mentioned the same things all the time. But third downs red zone touchdowns not field goals and turnovers. And then he just kinda play sound play a game. Don't make any big mistakes. There's a lot of things you have to do tomorrow. But that's what you have to do to get the number one seed in their environment with a hall of fame quarterback in a team that has no discernible weaknesses. Maybe take advantage of Sean Payton's egos sometime. Because he does have a huge ego. He admitted a mistake, by the way this week. Daddy said Malcolm Jenkins, letting him go to free agency was a big mistake ever, Sean Payton and minimum state before. No, he never done. We showing that his players on the sidelines. I remember Adrian Peterson was looking at it like stared, right? Adam like white. You basically ran up the score against the eagles. Maybe that can contribute some angle. But thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Yeah. I'll go thirty thirty one twenty eight thirty. He goes, all right. Pneumatic God's years thirty one twenty eight eagles should be. I got to tell you something. Sean Payton does Cesar Comanche producing the show, by the way. John Johnson with the updates Anthony forwards a nice job. First couple minutes this show. Sean Payton does something Caesar that is absolutely idiotic. It may not matter tomorrow. It hasn't mattered all year, tastes them. Hilas seven tastes some hill. The backup quarterback very athletic running kid from BYU. He puts him in at different times and Phil flank breeze at wide receiver. He's gotta be the trickiest guy in town. If I drew Brees is my quarterback and absolute uproar and all time hall of Famer. Is there any kind of plan unless I'm on the one yard line? And I wanna taste the mill to run the ball in behind six offensive lineman. There's no situation in which I won't taste Miller quarterback. Instead of drew Brees. He should never throw the ball. Not the taste some hills. Anything wrong with him. But what do you want to play for drew Brees for just to be tricky? If they can use Sean Payton's ego against them or turn the ball over and play with trae, smell bad, snapper. Whatever just thinking away thinking of ways thinking of ways. He's Sean is on sports radio ninety four w I p hockey, Sean what's going on. I'm a big fan. Thank you, buddy. Always call up. Regain. Game. Score. They're going to need to score points. Sixteen will not get the job done against the saints. I doubt although did get the job done for a couple of teams. But I didn't play their best ball is gonna take more than that. What do you think? It'll take. We don't need scores early. We're going to turn the football over scouts. We get him for some states. And we got hope they come a rusty, man. You do have to hope they come off the bye. And you gotta be careful. How you blitz breeze. You can't go blitz wild. If you're swertz. Can you know, you can't because he'll pick your court? You were if you remember back in the Super Bowl in two thousand one two thousand and two the patriots were kind of in this situation against the Rams are fourteen point underdogs to the Kurt Warner greatest show on turf, and they were able to get to him with four guys and cover with seven and without making a long story longer that that basically won the game for them. It's very hard. But they got Fletcher Cox, Michael Bennett off is healthy enough to play and play. Well, Brandon Graham, and then that cast of characters TIMMY Jernigan on the inside Chris long. They gotta get to him. If they get to him. They give them stuff a much better chance, but they can't be fired eight or nine guys safety blitzes corner. Blitz all the time because that's suicide against. Breeze. Pick your partner gone you like an onion. Right. You're right. But I think they'll be done, man. I think this one's pretty shitty. This one I don't care who is for me for the milkman as long as far as I'm concerned just do a few fans to a for for yourselves. Let me ask you questions. You ready Keyshawn? I'm ready. What is the significance of Westlake high school in Austin, Texas to tomorrow's game? That's where jubilees and Nick foles. They both would score there. What is it? We've done this before. Absolutely. We we visited this in two thousand thirteen but what are the chances of one high school producing both quarterbacks in an NFL playoff game. Is that cooler what if you go let high school, you gotta be so geek tomorrow. I mean, I'm rooting for whatever, but they got their pick, right. Yeah. That is pretty cool. But no moon for go eagles. They wanna give us an eagle chair. Thank.

"Would you love that? And if they can get through that. New Orleans another trip to the super dome. Who knows? As bad as they played the first time those two met. Could it be the fate of one Saint Nick Nick foles to get them as far as they can possibly get again zone. One. Do do they all want? They all morning long. Right. Forty. The last eagle playoff loss at home was too. You All Saints on a Saturday night. And I remember the thing I remember most about that game. Number one. It was about one degree Fahrenheit with about minus twelve wind wind chill factor that night. And. The NFL took over our broadcast booth. So they put us down on the camera. Well. The eagles were great about. I'm not complaining. He goes a great about it. They gave us electric heaters. They gave us the eagles parka, which is beautiful coat. I still have it. Yeah. So they kept us warm plenty of hot chocolate all night, whatever I needed. They made. It is comfortable is actually I started sweating after a while. But that was the game. The Nick foles left the field with the eagles in the lead. Sprawls has expels was Saint as the big kickoff return Kerry Williams with a personal foul at fifteen more yards. They were basically I right near the fifty on either side. I don't remember exactly where they were. But I know there were near midfield. Was drew Brees. And just a couple of plays later. They kicked the winning field goal is a walk off win by the saints. That's the last home playoff game that the eagles lost was against New Orleans. We shall see first step. I first things first beat the Redskins which has not been an easy feat down at FedEx field the last few years. Or is my buddy? Mike wallet calls, Dan's dump. For Dan Snyder. And then at the same time believe me, I will have some kind of a monitor. We'll figure it out. We'll have the technicians at. At FedEx field hook up my ipad or something. Somebody's gotta come through with a with a picture of of that Chicago Minnesota guy.

"Let's get back to the phones with Mike in Ewing. Michael. How you doing Mr. Frank doing great, Mr. Mike, are you? All right. We're talking about. Oh, and you know, Wallace Jackson. Changeable? What are we gonna do about Hicks? We got nobody to replace him. He's a great ball player when he's healthy. What are you going to do? Well, I mean, I I don't he ever healthy. He hasn't been helping since Texas. Yeah. Like saying, well, you know, his first year he was healthy. I think you can't you can't rely on them is just too many injuries. I I really liked the kid. And I know he really wanted to stay healthy this year. He was. You know, it was how did the flyers blow that game the flyers lost? They were one of the whole game. They lost to one of the Panthers. I'm sorry. I just got sidetracked there. But I don't think you count on them. I think that you bring them back. Nobody's going to give him a ton of money might because of the injury. So if you could bring them back on a on a salary friendly deal, you do it. And you just can't rely on him. You gotta find linebackers. You can rely on. I think Camus played really. Well, I was wrong about Camus. What else I'm happy to say it I thought he was really just a special teams player. I didn't think he could play fulltime linebacker, and he proved me wrong. I thought he started out a little slow, but he's been really good and Brandon's been good. The Bill the last six weeks or so so they Gary gives you good effort. So. Gauguin linebacker Paul Warrilow cubs back. We'll see what you know if he's in the mix. Drafty guy. Sign a guy. But I just don't think he can rely Jordan heck's. It kills me to say that because I think he's very smart instinctive athletic guy, go sideline to sideline. He's around. The ball is a play maker. But you just can't commit financially. The guy gets hurt that much. My feeling too. I was just wondering who we're going to put in the seat. Camus Nate they're fast. I like those fast Steinbeck's cameras. He I mean, the they're special teams guys that you know, I I didn't think he could be alive. I just thought he was a special team where he's proved me wrong. But yeah, he's he's a flak and he's fast and. You know, he's got to catch the interceptions that are in his hands. If he does that that's the next step for him. But they'll they'll find, you know, they'll find guys Mike afar. Linebackers and and if if their biggest issues replacing Jordan Hicks, though, they'll replace him. I I think it's going to be interesting one thing that always intrigues me is when a team. What a team plays poorly for a good part of the year. And then gets hot at the end. Know how much as GM how much credence do you put into the the resurgence versus the first well for this team the first ten weeks or four and six. Know, do you do you change your evaluations of players based on a handful of games at the end of the season? Because there's you know, I don't think Bradley had a great year. But Radames had a a really good last six weeks. And there's other guys in that same position. You know, how much how much do you change your evaluations based on if they finished five and one or two it's a good finish. I think it's a mistake. A lot of teams make like well, he played wealth the year. That's who he is. I think you really have to look at the full season and kind of be honest in your assessment or guys who may have finished strong. Oh, but overall they didn't have the best year. I think that's something that's going to be facing them. Once the season's over how you know how much stock. Do you put in these last five or six weeks? I keep coming back to defensive line offensive line and running back as their biggest needs. Whatever happens from here on out. I think Josh Adams is a is a. You know, he'll be in the league. I just. And he shows flashes. But I'm just not convinced that you know, he's the guy. I don't think they have the guy. And again, I think this team needs to get back to having lied running back and catch a bunch of passes the this offense, it really handicaps you, and it's something they didn't have last year. Either. L Garrett doesn't catch the ball. JJ doesn't catch the ball Corey clever does, but he didn't really play till the end of last year that this year us hurt. A lot of the year is a really good receiver. These in every down back. I think they need a running back. You catch you. You know, you look at this. This franchise. And they've always had like one of the best receiving backs in the league going back to to Keith Byars who was catching seventy eighty balls a year. It wasn't a great runner beans. A really good receiver. You know? And then it was you know, and then it was it was garner and Ricky and deuce. They're all really good receivers. Ricky watters. Great receive reduces gives anybody out of the backfield. Now. And that it was and it was Westbrook. Who's like the best we've ever seen screed passes running his space making people miss. Shady was catching forty fifty miles a year. So there's this line of running backs from from Keith Byars to shea even DeMarco Murray is as bad as he was he caught fifty balls here. You caught fifty passes. So there's this this line of receiving backs and it ended last year. And they want a Super Bowl. So it probably suits down. My theory. I still think that this offense functions at its best when you have that extra underneath option. And right now, they don't have it. You know? You know, they have the tight ends. And I think it's one of the reasons, you know, you saw Nelson catching somebody short passes early in the year. They just didn't have that dump off option. Josh Adams isn't a receiver. That was. Yeah. Four catches all year. Dolls does a decent receiver. But now he didn't even play for most of the season was even get any snaps. I think that this offense. That's why I think you draft a guy thirty second Rafter around four even fourth round, you could find a decent running back who you get you. Get you seventy five eighty yards. Catchy. Four four Balza game block people which I think is working progress for Josh Adams work in progress for small would your best blocking back is sprawls. You'll be thirty six. I have a bunch of different pieces at Ronnie back. But. I think they could really really use a young really talented versatile. Receiving blocking rushing kind of multidimensional back. And and I think you'll see them go after that this year most likely the draft, maybe they could find a guy out there. But I know how he doesn't like to. You know, spend a lot of resources on older backs 'cause they they have such a limited shelf life. You get a guy who's Twenty-three you try to get four or five years out of him. Now, you'll never see them. Garrett was an exception. And it worked out he was he was fantastic last year. But I think they they kind of tied that just just to tie. Plus, you saw the Garrett at the end of the year, you know, didn't have that juice. You arrested him he had a big Super Bowl, but they're gonna go young back. I just I think that's it. Almost at a time. I I wanna just kinda look look ahead to tomorrow just for a minute. There's always that. You know, there's that letdown what the season ads, especially when you go into the final day of the season with a chance to you know, to do something special. I don't know what's going to happen. I think this is a team that is just finding itself now in on both sides of the ball specialties. They've been better a special teams to and I think it'd be a shame. If this team doesn't have a chance to play the playoffs. I think there were dangerous team if they get in the worst thing you want to do. And I think this'll be the lesson that Doug tells his team if they don't get in is this is why we talk about every game matters. This is why September matters. This is why that fourth quarter week three is just as important as that fourth quarter week seventeen. These that extra point you might miss in in week nine or that late touchdown, you might give up in week five or that that seventeen point lead, you might blow in week three that you know, that game you let get away from you in the first half tap in week to whatever it is. It's gonna catch up to you. And you gotta take care of your business. And if they don't get in it's going to be a really painful lesson for this team if they win adult get in. They're just gonna have themselves to blame. And the mistakes they made the first half of the season. Hey, ricky. You know, I'm dying to ask you a question. What do you got? We're going back to the scene. Tomorrow afternoon to where I don't know how you think about this. I love to pick your brain about this that first half of football of game one of the chip era. Yeah. Was some of the most dynamic offense. I have ever seen ever what happened from the second half of that game through the rest of the chip era. Do you know the eagles had more yards in that first half than in any other half chip ever coached in his first half of coaching in the NFL? There were theories in that game that the rest it was too fast for the wrath. Yes. Yeah. I couldn't keep up my score. I was it was comical it was like, yeah. But I think that was part of it. I think teams caught on. And learn how to defend a better. Plus, he just got rid of good players. Remember him? I remember him walking off at halftime is Monday night football who had a monitoring in in the booth and chip had that smug vile of like. Yeah. You see this is what I told you that smug smile is. He walked off the field lesson. We never saw that again, though. I mean there were times, you know, certainly moments. I mean, they won twenty games the first two years. And then they were what the next year they were ninety three right? Correct. The second year there night night of learning three of their last four. Right. And then they went up to New England beat the patriots third year. So there were moments, but and who knows what of a different if they hung on to beat the saints in that playoff game at thirteen Kerry Williams his penalty on the ensuing kickoff was a big kickoff by sproles penalty that had the horse collar back on the fifteen th they they went down to kick the field goal. But they were they were leading. When Nick foles went off. They closes never left the field in the playoff game with losing Tralee. No, you're absolutely right. But I've never seen to my memory. Yeah. During the and ears. Chip Doug as far as my. I've never seen. Thirty minutes of football is dynamic is those at FedEx field that Monday night. Yeah. They almost three hundred forty yards in the first half. Yeah. It was crazy. I have to go back and watch that just it's magnificent and Michael Vick in sync with shady with the Sean everything was in sync for those. I I almost blew that game. Lose out. They came back. Yeah. Orgy three. Yeah..

"Eight hundred seventy nine nine four nine four summit this game. Tomorrow the eagles I'm conference. They're gonna win this game. I I know those issues I know this eagles team has been poor. And I have been saying all the year. There's something often. I didn't think all year all summer. They were going to be better team or as good. But I do believe this is the right match up for the eagles to get right? If they do three and three and then we'll have a different season to talk about. But with all this going on all the talk this week a lot of rumors out there about somewhat shady McCoy. And I said last night, and I still say tonight, I don't want shady McCoy my football team, but levian bell. Is the interesting in the biggest name because he's the biggest star potentially available. And there's been a lot of talk this week that has changed my mind a little bit on if this could happen last week. I thought it was more just like fantasy football. Yeah. Go get Levy on bell this week. It's felt like there's more Domino's starting to fall here, including the eagles creating legitimate cap space by restructuring card Fletcher Cox's deal. So Jason lockenfora. It's been on this from CBS words from the start that the eagles could should might have some real interesting love EON bell. He gave an update and the latest in the situation. Here's lock it for it's very real. I understand them not wanting to set the bar too high and not wanting to get fan expectations to ratchet it up. But this is how he rose when we're talking about. And he doesn't do complacent. You know, he's not going to be complacent. He's not going to sit back and just be placid as the season goes and indirection nobody's comfortable with and now he has an acute need. So then got two games in five days. Not much is going to happen this week, they'll reassess after this Thursday night game. And he's touched base with the Steelers. He's touch base with the Buffalo Bills about shady McCoy again, everything pretty preliminary. But I think he's making at least one significant trade, and maybe maybe more it could be a corner as well. I mean, they they've got a need in the defensive backfield as well. So yeah. With running backs love EON bell somebody who interests them. He's restructuring some deals to where he's at a point with ten point eight million in cap space right now, he could absorb the big salary, and that doesn't include eventually trading Nick foles, which could obviously create more space for him in the short term. So yes, Howie Roseman is certainly one of the key players to watch in these three weeks ahead of the deadline for it's real. I mean, there's lock for saying. And I think how we I don't know if the restructuring of Fletcher Cox's deal with strictly four Levy on it feels like how is getting himself options here that if the Steelers call tomorrow or a week from now or at the trade deadline and say, okay, we'll give you Levy on for a third round pick. We'll give you a Levy on for one of your picks and eagles. You are okay. With the price. They can actually make the deal. Now, there's cap space that would make the deal palatable now two weeks ago that just wasn't there because Lebanon bell is on a big number because of the franchise tag. But now, it's at least possible this whole idea is actually possible now eight today, do you think they trade foles for anything at this point? I mean what what team would want him like the Niners are the ones. He people brought up when they lost Garoppolo. But it feels like if they don't like if the forty Niners didn't do it right away. Jack. Why would they do it now because they're probably gonna lose two or three more games for the deadline? And then it's like, well, we're done anyway. Yeah. And if you're the eagles if you can get a third round top pick for him. Right. So if you don't do better than the third it's almost like what what's the point? Right. And when you know the belt thing, I came up folds his name was attached. Like, okay, maybe they'll move falls, and they'll save the Capra. But now that they restructured Fletcher Cox deal. They don't have to do that. They could they can have full still on this roster. And that's the most amazing part Howie. We say it all the time. But how he really is amazing with the cap that he could do this didn't have much cap room and now actually room for running back on a franchise tag. It's almost like he doesn't even talk to the players. He just does it. There's no negotiating. It's just like is going to happen. And you got nothing you can do about it. I keep waiting for. It's a cost then maybe it will in a year or two because they've they've pushed a lot of stuff back, and that's always comes back to get you keep pushing money back. You have to pay that money eventually on your cap and add to these players like urge they keep they pushed money back. They did it to Malcolm, they did it to lane now Fletcher Cox as long as there's players keep producing, and they are good. We're not gonna care. The eagles aren't gonna care. I guess if one of them had an injury or really decline, suddenly, Malcolm, maybe it would be the one because he's older then it could come back to bite them. But somehow he keeps doing this, and it doesn't bite them. Yeah. Basically, I was watching CNN Anderson today on ESPN she said that before this move for Fletcher Cox, they wouldn't have had a cap space to bring in either McCoy or bell. And now this allows them to do either one it just feels like that's the move. Right. It does. But I also think there's there's some options. I use a hinky word. It was like there's optionality has now. Because now let's go to the falcons I brought up Kevin Coleman last night like before. For the other day, Jack, it feels like the falcons could have been like, hey, you can't get any expensive back. You have Coleman or any of these guys are cheap. If felt like those teams had leverage over the eagles because everyone knew the eagles NFC cap space. Now, how we could be like I could get anyone I want like no one could hold the eagles up for a high pick price because he's got the cap it could be cheap Coleman or Jordan Howard, a younger player or he could spend on McCoy which I don't want it to do. But he could or Levy on belt how he's how he's got the power again. How does he always do this? He's got the power again. Let's talk Zach out Jackson, New Jersey. What's up, Zac? Can you hear me got you, buddy? What's on your mind? Okay. So basically, I don't think they though a bad team. They're just playing like a bad team. The whole team is just doing awful. It's like every day. I listen to every every radio show throughout the day. And you pick a new person to talk about because there were just all underperforming. It's unreal. Unreal. The whole team is just collectively doing that. They are. And it really it's every area and Zach I've been saying this for two or three weeks. Now, if it was one thing if it was just the offensive line. It was just a defensive just the secondary. I think we'd all feel like okay, how we will do something or coach it up, and they'll figure it out. But it's not it's five or six things. And that's why this is so frustrating. The whole the whole team is just not is just not playing off the stuff. And and the other thing I wanted to say is because I hear you guys thought about it. The whole door skews to the NFC is bad is totally bogus. I mean, even if we win the NFC east and the whole. I mean. All right Zach losing a little bit there. But I do I heard Jackson earlier, but the NFC east and the whole bogus thing about the division. It is frustrating that we just keep going back to that. It doesn't make the eagles any better. It is real Bo. Bo said it with us during birds with friends, the division does stink. So it changes the equation of how how we we talk about the team. You know, if if there was a thirteen and three team emerging in this division. Then you have to basically say this is over like if there was another great tea, or there was a great team the NFC east the panic would be that they're going to actually miss the playoffs. I don't think anyone yet feels that way or at least not many people despite how poorly they've played. And I I don't believe they will. I think the eagles will still win the NFC. Lamar isn't Philly? What's up Lamar? How you guys doing tonight, man? Good. Lamar what's on your mind? I'm just to the radio stations like every day. I here everybody. All the all the comparisons of Halley mills is killing the defense and Alex. Maybe a cornerback needed at the trade deadline, and then you guys ever mentioned the fact that. Schwartz scheme. He asks his rookie where a young second-year player like MARCY Matic play the whole entire secondary. As the only single high. That's what kills you. And nobody mentioned that they always sing a lot of player. I just don't get that. So you want to single out the scheme. The scheme has worked before though the Mara. And look, I'm not saying are you saying it's worked as an it. Kept people under four hundred yards a game. Visit were really work. They found a way to outscore theme. Giving up a tremendous amount of yard. But that but a lot. Well, first of all in the NFL today that most teams go a lot of yards. It's a league were three hundred and fifty yards isn't even a lot. I'm just saying Jim Schwartz has had good defenses in the NFL. Whether it be Tennessee, whether it be Detroit or here that was a good defense last year in the Super Bowl, they got torched. But for the most part over the course of the season as a full year. It was a good defense Lester this scheme can work. It has to have a pass rush that that's what the it starts with the pastor us when they don't have that it looks bad on the back end. Yes, I understand that. But if that's the case. And if it just about killed they'll give up yard. He don't give up point. But that's your capability should be off the hook. He's giving a point you've given up yard altogether. I feel like it goes hand in creating law. Well, sure, it does the more yards. You give up the more times. You're putting the other team a position to get points. Lamar I appreciate the call Jila mills gets beat up too much. I I agree with that doom is here's the problem, which the Jalen mills discussion, and I I felt this for a long time, but it's becoming more and more of a thing. Chillan mills is an average football player that has some above average skills. He's big he could be physical in the red zone. Like he's good in those tight spots. He's just not a very good football player. Why I don't know why we expect greatness out of jail Jalen mills, I expect like he is what he is. He doesn't have great speed. He gets beat on double moves. He'll get ill always get penalties because he's a physical player. That's never going to change the guy. He reminds me of is Kerry Williams. And you might say he's better. Carey was a good player with the ravens before we got here. And then he wasn't as good here. But the ravens won a Super Bowl with Kerry Williams. And then let him go because he had deficiencies like we sometimes we expect greatness at all these guys corners. You know, anytime there's a position player that is on an island. You're going to get upset more than make a mistake. Jill doesn't really bother me much..

"Verizon wireless, cell phones. What's your biggest concern right now? Mine is that despite issues are going to happen every season despite issues they're gonna have with injuries or guys losing focus here or there like the Corey Graham issue coaching got them through it last year. They coached up the talent they coached through the problems on Sunday. They couldn't do that the players lost the game. And the coaches didn't help them with it. That's a problem because this team might not be as good as last year. They might not be perfect. But at least I knew last December last January Doug Peterson would call a whale of a game. Doug Peterson would be on top of everything. And Jim Schwartz is defense would find a way they're not doing that right now. Eight eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four. That's how you get aboard. So you mentioned earlier about the about this team looking like eight and eight nine seventeen right? Yep. What'd you say? During before the first four weeks last year after the first four last year. Well, there were three one three months, but they weren't playing eventual Super Bowl champion they were but I wasn't expecting that. So to answer your question, I was thinking differently because I- expectations different. We all have to we off to base the way we feel about things on our expectations. I thought the eagles last year to win ten games. So I talked about them in early September early late September early October like a ten win football team. I thought they could get their this team was supposed to be better than that. And a whole field advantage in the playoffs or repeating. I just don't feel that way right now. You know, I think my biggest worry is what is it the offensive line for two issues one because I think they can get Carson Wentz guild and the way they've been playing they might get killed. Mhm last season. Getting this Jason Peters doesn't look like the same. I think Kelsey is banged up a little bit lane. I have ever seen him struggle ever supposed to be the strength of the team. So if the strength of the team isn't where it needs to be it could turn into a loss of here's a staff where this is the first time since the last two weeks of the two thousand ten season that the eagles have allowed four or more sacks two weeks and think about that for a second. This is the first time in eight years eight years, they have a lot four more sacks in back to back games. That is a problem. Eight eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four your biggest concern right now because we all have them if you if you have no concerns right now. Well, I don't know where you're watching. Let's talk to dug in Connecticut. What's up, Doug? That's going on. Thanks for work. You guys put in. It's been a bad week, man. I was a that was a bad and ending to that game. The way that I felt about the fourth and twenty six back in the day was pretty Mitchell. The exact opposite. I felt looking at the fourth and fifteen that's going to be burned in my memory for a long time. Hey defense. But it is what it is the other thing that bothered me about that game was and deregulation a minute and seven were at the titans. Seventeen yard line. We gotta waste clock. We can get a first down. It's certain three. I would have been playing for the first down. And then and then start to Chuck it in the end zone a few times. I mean, I really think that was a missed opportunity. There's plenty of times in that game where I think feel like we gave it away. But I guess for me that the biggest thing I'm worried about is. As we continue to play like this. We're going to go down nor nor Orleans we're getting get stops. And then I'm going to be embarrassed. And I'm gonna be pissed off. And I don't want that. I like feeling the way that I've been feeling like a champ walking around here. Connecticut the way that I'm feeling and yeah, they gotta do something on defense. They gotta do something on offense. I just hope that a loss like this can galvanize us the way that you know, Elliott's kicked it and the trip down to San Diego and the the winning Carolina Calvin IS galvanize us gotta find a run I hope to God. This loss can wake us up. Even though we should have gotten waking up in Tampa Bay. We should have got waking up in week one. But they gotta wake up they gotta do some because we're way better than this. Yeah. Then they should be Doug. And I hope you're right. And but what you just said their concerns me that the the loss in Tampa should've woken them up. That was the story that was sort of that whole week and even week one when they won barely. It was like, well, there's a lot of coaching points here. I always hear I say. And obviously that that different mentality because he knows what it's like the week after a win or loss. He's been in those situations. He was for years and years in the NFL. And I always hear I say this the coaches Huelva coaching point off this. They could use this as a okay now, we're going to get on the guys for this. Even in a win. We've done this already. The eagles already had their bad loss on the road in Tampa there another one on Sunday. How many do you have to have restarted to say when are they going to wake up, and I don't think the personnel issues are going to just disappear. They're going to have this using the secondary all year because mills is what he is the guy compared to he reminds me of Kerry Williams and not even so much to carry Williams that was here because he was a little bit older when he was in Baltimore, they want a Super Bowl Kerry Williams, you can win with jail and mills, but he's going to get beat. Sometimes he's not gonna be great. He's not a great player. So this defense going to give a big place. They give a big place last year. If the pass rush isn't great. The eagles defense is great. And I think a bigness misnomer. We had come into the air was. Well, the eagles defense is great. It's not not a great defense. You can't just play like this on the road and say, oh, we're good at home now on the road. No. They're not a great defense. They need the offense to be great. Last year's team was led by the offense that that's why they were so good. They had a great great offense. The way the Rams kind of do this year and the chiefs do that. That's how those teams were dominant and the eagles offense so far this year has been good in spots. It looks like it could get better here. But they haven't been great eight eight seventy nine ninety four ninety four Donny is in Delaware. What's up, Johnny? Going on Joe. Hey, welcome back. Glad to have you back on the night time. Thank you, buddy. What's on your mind tonight? So I have a a statement about Sunday's game here, if Roddy McLeod doesn't get hurt against the colts. The titans game is not even close. There's one reason why because then you have knock him Jacobs down in in a linebacker position spying? Marcus mariota the entire game. They didn't do that. They had to leave Malcolm Jenkins. At at a high safety position because they have no other options because according Graham is not what he can be. I think you're right dining, I think that that's the truth. The problem is mcleod's not coming back. He's on the I R. And I don't think we have a definitive answer. But it seems like from what everyone is kind of alluded to he's probably not coming back. I guess if he gets healthy. They're allowed to take two guys off the I R and bring him back to the active roster. But that's not happening any time soon. So we have to figure out and they have to figure out how are they getting through this? So I think there's a solution. I think personally Mike Mitchell who used to play for Pittsburgh Carolina before that. Yep. He's got above average sideline us song speed. He can run back and forth. Just like Rodney McLeod could he can cover a single high safety on either side of the field. I say you go throw a veteran. Minimum adam. And he comes here. He says, okay. We're hopping on the train they just want the Super Bowl. And there you have it. You can't have a team out expect airplanes. And safety. I don't know why you don't try out result. Douglas it safety. He's at least got the size. Yeah. And he plays the position like safety to he plays corner safety when you watch him Donna, I appreciate the call. Look, I don't know what Mitchell's do. I don't know what kind of shape he's in. I don't know if he can come in and play tomorrow and upgrade would help certainly. But this goes back to coaching wise Fonte medics playing safety for the first time in his life. On Sunday in a game that you're trying to win against a titans team that is trying to come back. It just feels like it's a recipe for disaster. They have issues with injuries. They have issues probably with complacency because they want to Super Bowl last year. And you have to shake that guys. I get all that. I assume there's going to be issues. Offense defense blocking penalty throughout the season. Every team has that what it is expected to come on here. Our first show the first evening show back in a long time and say eagles coaching is worrying me because it wasn't his great needs to be that. I.
