"Different teams got first place votes. Fart Atlantic did not. But the house one conference USA, outright, by multiple games, then they won the CSA tournament, and now they're in the final four with a 35 and three record. Do you like excellence? That's excellence. Do you like overachieving? That's overachieving. Two weeks ago, dusty may not have made my top three coach of the year candidates, but based on all of the data we now have about him and what he's done to this point in the season, dusty may is going to be my national coach of the year. You know, though, if we're going to go based off head to head, like I was saying, we also have to consider Kermit Davis, now fired at old myths. We have to consider Andy Kennedy for UAB and Nick mcdevitt, right? An empty SU? The only three coaches to beat dusty may this season. In that while, how did old miss beat Florida Atlantic like, I mean, I know it was November, but that's a head scratcher there. Right. But that loss is among the reasons it took Florida Atlantic longer than it otherwise would have to crack The Associated Press top 25 poll or even the CBS sports top 25 and one, but they eventually cracked both. And now, I believe the Kim pom numbers have updated Florida Atlantic is up to 17th at Ken pom. So this is a legitimate basketball team. It's an incredible story and an unlikely story, but this is a legitimate basketball team with, I think, realistic national championship hopes. Again, with most of those so called mid majors that have advanced to the final four, I gave them almost no shot to win another game, much less two more. I mean, it's one of the simplest things anybody's ever said about the final four as it pertains to traditional Cinderella's, but the thing that makes winning the national championship very, very difficult, even if you get to the final four, is because you still gotta be too good teams. And they're probably usually two teams better than you. And that's hard to do. But whatever teams are going to be in the final four with Florida Atlantic, I think outside of maybe Yukon, which can obviously be physically from a talent perspective. Overwhelming for opponents. I wouldn't put anybody else as a big favorite over Florida Atlantic. I think they can beat anybody left in this tournament, including Yukon. And so on Saturday, we're going to have a final four game. Check this out. On Saturday we're going to have a final four game between a conference USA school and either a mountain west school or a school that was in the Missouri valley ten years ago. That's where we're headed. So that's going to be a lot of fun. College basketball, man. It is something else. Well, back to the thing. You don't get this in college football. And you can't get these types of stories in most mainstream American sports. Florida Atlantic is the most talked about basketball team in the country right now. And it's a team that, unless you're a real die hard, you weren't talking about it or thinking about at all just a few weeks ago.

"Next year's 2024 NCA tournament, the selection show is, I think, 363 days from now, so I look forward to seeing everybody back here in 363 days as we see where we're going to play in the tournament. I'd like to start with some thank yous that are very important to me. I want to thank everybody for the trust and this job. I want to specifically thank Chancellor Boyce Keith Carter and Alan green. It's a special process spent extensive time with these three men, I appreciate their trust and research and me and my life and my career. And I spent some time researching this situation myself. I know what my agent was mentioning, some of the places around college basketball that we might have a chance to. When I heard old miss, it kind of the buck stopped there. It's exactly where I wanted to be. And I look forward in the next few minutes, explain to you why. But the Chancellor is a leader. He has a vision for this place. I really enjoyed spending time with him and I can't wait to work for him and with him. He told me Christian know above all what we do all miss is we build leaders. And I haven't been able to get that out of my mind because I think in our program that's what we try to do a lot with our players and staff is build leaders. And so I had an immediate bond with a Chancellor. Of course, working for Keith is going to be something special. You know, there's not a lot of athletic directors out there that played college athletics at the level that Keith did and certainly at the institution where we're both blessed to work out. He's an all conference player and one of the best leagues in the world. The SEC. So it's just special being a basketball coach, having an athletic director that's played the game at such a high level and found great success in administration. And I feel the same way about Alan very familiar with what he's done in college athletics where he is today and where he's going soon in the future. But these three men really tied it into me and I can't thank them enough. I also want to be really clear of my respect and thanks for the previous coach here, coach Kermit Davis. Kermit did a great job.

"And good afternoon, we're back in studio great to be here, although we had a fantastic time in Nashville last week. A lot to talk about to say the least and let's begin with the story of this month. And that is the tournament. Alabama. Earning a number one seed in basketball. Yeah, they're starting the football season off number one. They ended up a little bit farther down, but this is what it looks like. Alabama, of course, leads the cavalcade of 8 SEC teams, Tennessee's in there, Kentucky, playing a former player on Friday. Those are the times on the right. A and M, a lot of people aren't happy about the seating of buzz's club. How about Missouri getting in the tournament under our new coach, Arkansas slipping in there in the 8 9 game, Thursday afternoon, auburn, in spite of a slide toward the end, gets a Birmingham slot that has everyone upset, especially Kelvin Sampson, the coach of Houston, which is the number one seed in that region, not in that region, but in that part of the bracket. Gamecocks are the least surprising number one team of all time. It was, it wasn't unanimous. And then the gamecocks get underway Friday afternoon. LSU in there, Tennessee, a four seat all miss in 8, Georgia made it Alabama made it and so did miss a mistake both in men and women. Chris beard has been hired the speculation is over. That has been made official by the university. He will be formally introduced tomorrow afternoon and we'll have coverage of that live here on our program. And to talk more about that, Jeff borzel, who's been covering the story of for many, many weeks now. Jeff, thank you for joining us. Appreciate it. It's a move that has drawn some sneers from around college basketball. Good afternoon and tell us, first of all, how did old miss make this happen and what did they go through in their decision making? Well, first of all, I appreciate you having me on. So the discussions or the almost first reached out to Chris beers representatives about right after Kermit Davis was fired. So that was on February 24th, late February, a week before that, we part of that crispier charters were dropped. And so once Kermit was out discussions began with the beards representatives, old missed kind of dialed in on him as their next guy and that's when discussions really kicked in. And I'm told they did significantly more due diligence than a usual hire. Old miss officials in combination with the search firm that they had hired the tremendous amount of due diligence to make sure they were comfortable with fear. They spoke to a number of people close to beer, they gathered their gather their own information about what had happened in December. This wasn't a review of coaching credentials or anything like that. They were making sure they were comfortable with him as the right guy to hire in a leadership position. And again, discussions kicked on last week and they heard on him as the guy they wanted to hire and then it was finalized this morning and made public this afternoon and there's a press conference to introduce him tomorrow, which is when I'm told contract term should be made official. Jeff, I understand due diligence, but some cases are far more difficult than others. I realize you're reporting this you're not conducting it, but can you give us a better description in terms of how they went about it? And in the process, if you wouldn't mind, including exactly what they were trying to figure out here because he was fired under very dubious circumstances. You mentioned the charges were dropped. They were very serious charges. However, a lot of questions remain unanswered. Well, since the incident that happened in December, beard has been consistent in saying that the events that were first reported, we're not consistent with what actually happened. And his fiance, she recanted her initial statement. She did not want charges pursued on beard and I think that, I mean, the chart is being drafted played a huge part in all myths feeling more comfortable hiring him as our next guy, obviously. And from what I'm told, the due diligence was, it was speaking to a lot of people around beard, both professionally and personally about his character about his personality about the incident in December, just getting more and more comfortable or trying to get to a point where they were comfortable making him their next basketball coach. I know that they look into the incident on their own. They just didn't take the early police reports and the police investigation on their own. They looked into it themselves. They gathered their own information. And at some point in the last couple of weeks, they became comfortable in saying he's our guy. Jeff, again, I'm asking you to speculate on reporting, but you obviously have done a great deal of it. What made on this feel comfortable about a situation that Texas clearly felt he should be fired? I mean, and exactly why was he fired at Texas? I mean, I realized that charges were later dropped, but they still must have felt a high level of concern to let go of a coach whose team was number one in the country on the day he was fired. Yes, Texas, when they fired him, they made it clear that it wasn't just the charge, the charge is still existing is the reason they fired him. They said his behavior was not consistent with some of they wanted in our leadership position at the University of Texas. And even when the charges were dropped, that first that initial police affidavit, which detailed what happens or what his fiance said happened that night, that still exists. That's still out there. And a lot of schools would not be comfortable with hiring somebody given what happened just three months ago, four months ago. But once the charges were dropped and once I think the fiance, his fiance not wanting charges pursued and recanting her statement and saying what happened in that police have a David was not what really happened. I think those were pretty big steps in all miss feeling comfortable or at least confident to say that he's going to be our guy. He's got the right character to be our guy. Do you have, I don't think I would have ever asked a question like this under normal circumstances, but I do think it's potentially germane to this issue. You used the word fiance. She later back down. She recanted her story, do we have any idea whether they are still a couple? I'm not sure to be honest. I don't want to speculate on it. I don't really know the status of their current relationship. But you would agree, would you not that that relationship is an integral part of this whole situation, thus leading to any people can speculate any way they want, but I was just curious. And maybe we'll find out tomorrow night at the press conference. Yes. I mean, that would probably be the first sign that I noticed. A photo of him on campus today. He was there with his daughters, but I'm guessing we'll get him a little bit more information at the press conference tomorrow when questions are asked and things like that. No doubt, Jeff Brazil, with the reporting on the Chris beard story. And that is certainly the story of this day within the conference in relation to on the court. It doesn't seem like the university there found anything. They feel comfortable. We'll hear from all the parties tomorrow night. That press conference will be going on late in the afternoon and we'll have

"We're live in Nashville as dusk is falling and the SEC basketball tournament about to begin. We have some we'll have a preview of tonight's action and the rest of the week. In just a minute, people are making their way inside at the fanfare and we are inside the arena where the crowds slowly forming for tonight's first rounds games. Let's get back to the calls at 855-242-7285 and Sam is up next in Maryland. The hello Sam. Hey, how you doing tonight, Paul? We're doing great. Thank you for calling. Great, great. Hey, oh miss grad class of 18, the crisp beard awaken a sleeping giant and opt for they get great facilities, a brand new arena. I don't know, I think you and I might be in the final four here in a couple of years. What do you think, Paul? Sam, I think they'll naturally take a hit from critics, but ultimately he's one of the best coaches in the country. And when Texas hired him, it was considered a major coup. He, he's a great recruiter, he's a great coach, and I think you're right. On this basketball has been dormant for a while. It's gone through a really sloppy period. That's sad because the school spends so much money and so much effort in getting that new arena. It should be making a tremendous impact and quite frankly the program has regressed. Yep, well hopefully they can get everything finalized. It looks like cape Carter's got it going in the right direction, so we're excited. Well, I mean, I mean, Keith Carter is one of the few basketball ADs. What I mean by that is obvious. He didn't come from either the administrative wing or the other, the football side of it. I mean, he played basketball there. I mean, ray Tanner, of course, is a baseball coach. So he understands the game. Not that other coach, not another AD's dome, but I think, you know, I trust him in the administration there. They're smart people. They know what type of PR hits they'll take, but I don't think at this point they are going to let that bother them. I mean, we're logging to the process. Kermit Davis has been gone ten days. They knew weeks ago. So I think they've been after Chris beard from the beginning. Yep, look at the worksite if he could take my call for a hot party. Thank you very much. Robert is in Kentucky and you're on the air. Hey Robert. Hey, Paul. Thanks for taking my call. Thank you. Wouldn't you show it every day? But today appreciate the information. I love the interview with coach stacked out. I was in the regional final last night. Showed up and we know why it was recruiting and but I really like the guy and I hope that this will be on and gives him plenty of time because he says it's just that he's got his team they come up for a big Kentucky. I'm a president, but I'm also curious to have the business plan. For some testing. Gina Robert, he has had a very difficult time. And thank you for the call. I mean, there was a time when I'm not sure we were sure he would be here. But he is, he is really endured. And this is this has been a tremendous turnaround. He's highly respected as a petition of a student of the game. I have his resume speaks for itself, but I think he's won a lot of people over with his turnaround and it's incredibly impressive and I really got a kick out of seeing him about an hour ago. George is up next in Tennessee. Hello, George. Hello. Hi there. First time. Well, thank you. Great job. Thank you. It won't make a better difference. But why is ever announcer against Tennessee? I don't care who you're playing. They're against Tennessee. And I can't understand that. Can you tell me why? You do a great job. I don't mean to, thank you. You're going to have to tell me what they've said about Tennessee that's so bad. But I don't know. By the way, that's the one thing I love about this show and you could get named the broadcaster. And you get 6 different fan bases and they all think he's out to get their team. I'm not sure I can. I do understand it is fandom and we all think our team is getting the short shrift. We're continuing with your phone calls here. Let me just make sure that we have the latest gift the latest list and it's Renee next in Fayetteville. Hey Rene. Hey, Paul. I just have a little background in sports broadcasting, a million years ago. I was at U.S. shortly after coach Donovan Lapierre. And I remember doing sports talk and having to explain to SEC fans or Florida fans. Of college basketball. And it just seems like, do you think, before you decide to retire or, you know, do whatever you want to do after this part of your life? Do you think that SEC sands will finally learn how to grasp sport and not call about football, like while you're at the SEC or I mean, I know it's the nature of the beat. Football, football, but there's so many talented teams in the SEC now, you know, whether it be basketball, baseball or even some of the women's sports that just kind of cracks me up.

"Pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul finebaum show, our Ford podcast. And we're in Nashville, one more hour to go. And then the tournament begins as we have been previewing it all afternoon. This is one of the most anticipated weeks of the year in college basketball last year. We were in Tampa so it's great to be back here in music city, busy show. We've had a million guests from Bruce pearl to Rick Barnes, Jerry stackhouse, the coach at Florida and Mississippi state. We got a couple of the top analysts in the SEC coming up here in a few minutes. The game one hour from now, and your phone calls continue a couple of items to pass along. Jim beheim out after 47 years, he's 78 years old. He said after a last second loss in the ACC tournament today that it's up to the school to decide whether he comes back, they didn't waste any time. They decided they announced shortly after the game that he would be replaced by Adrian Autry his assistant. And beheim is out. One of the most important figures in the game over nearly a half a century won the national championship more than 20 years ago with Carmelo Anthony went to the final four about 6 years ago, but lately has been nothing more than lose. He's one of the top coaches of course he's also coached longer than pretty much anyone else. Chris beard considered the favorite to be the old miss coach that sounds good on paper. He's highly thought of. He nearly won the national championship a couple of years ago. He was at Texas and they were number one this year until he was fired. His fiance accusing him of initially of strangling him or attempting to strangle him. She later were Canada that story and said it was in self defense. The police did not press charges, but the university fired him. He is considered next in line at all mister replaced Kermit Davis and Brandon Miller, speaking for the first time today in 7 weeks since the heartbreaking tragedy. At what he called it, he called it heartbreaking saying there's nothing that can be done to bring back a mother to a young son. He did not say anything else. Alabama plays here on Friday afternoon. We get back to the calls right now and Joseph is first up for the final hour. Good afternoon. Thanks for taking my call, man. Sure. Yeah, I want to say that major 27. We got the debate going on in the schools about the quarterback because Dale and Miller were in college country, but the point is the best one's going to start saving one enough for us and they're not the questions he's joking. With no sense debating and no other court who ever going to get the court lecturer, the holy shit, is going to be able to do it. That's all I got to say. Point blank roll top. We will be national champion once again, roll tide. That's it. Well, I applaud your confidence. I'm not sure if the quarterback situation is in great shape, but there's still there's still a faint chance Alabama can pick somebody up after spring ball. Let's check out James next in Tennessee. Hello, James. Hello. How are you doing? We are doing great. Thank you for asking. I'm just wanting to see what. Football kids this year I'm not seeing you there. Well, we're trying to figure out I know I'm trying to remember off the top of my head before we find it. I think they start in I'll have to wait. Here it is. Virginia's Virginia first game right here in Nashville down the street at the Titan stadium. Austin P at Florida week three, San Antonio, South Carolina, a and M a pretty manageable first 6 games. Part of the Tennessee won't be undefeated. And then the fun starts at Alabama at Kentucky back to back, Yukon, and an at Missouri, and then there's Georgia late in the year, that's the second half of the schedule is really brutal. I can see two games there will be an underdog in Georgia at home though. The Kentucky game, another wild card. So there you go. Thanks so much for the call. Aubrey is up next. Go right ahead. Aubrey, you're on the air. Hey there, good afternoon. Hi. How are you? Hi everyone. We're doing really well. We're doing great. How old are you? I'm ten. Oh, that's a great age. What are you been doing today? I went to school. Oh, that's fantastic. Yeah, but on Friday. I'm looking forward to wondering if we are gonna go to the same tournament because I'm going there to watch our favorite players. Well yeah, we'll definitely be here on Friday. Who's your favorite player? Well, I have a couple. Okay. Hey, I like Taylor. And I like and I like Kyrie Bradford. Okay. Well, that is certainly going to be exciting as Kentucky plays here on Friday. You'd be well. Take care of yourself and don't forget to go to school tomorrow. Let's check out David in Tennessee next. Hey, David. David, are you there? I don't hear David. And by the way, it's hard to hear anything right now. He may be talking and I'm just not hearing it. I tell you what. Dave is up next. Sorry about that. Dave go right ahead. Hello, Paul. How are you? We are doing great. Thank you for calling. All day early. How are you doing today? We're doing great. What's going on with you? Just calling in to check in on the Arkansas Alabama game. I tell you what we're yeah, I apologize, David. It's gotten fairly loud in here. I was not completely hearing your question, but we'll try Addison next. Addison go right ahead. Hey Paul, how are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. That's good. What do you think it is of Alabama making it into the final four? Edison, I like their garage, first of all, they have one of the best teams in the country. They're going to likely be a number one seed. Now, I don't know, I mean, depending on what they do here, if they don't win the SEC tournament, they could end up the fourth number one seed. They do have some issues. They haven't played great lately, and they have a lot of pressure because of all the things that we've been talking about for 7 or 8 weeks, but I think they will clearly be among the favorites in the tournament. It's a little easier to make an evaluation though, Sunday Night. Once we've seen the bracket once we see who is lurking in their division. Hey, thank you for the call though. Appreciate it. We are live in Nashville. We'll continue taking your phone calls. We'll also have a couple more guesses. We are getting ready for the beginning, the official beginning of the SEC men's tournament. We're coming right back. You were listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast.

"Hey, thank you for the call. Do appreciate a dust in his in Tulsa. Hey, good morning from Tulsa Paul. How are you, bud? Dustin. Yes, sir. Yes, I can. Okay. Hey, man. Yesterday. I really appreciated the full on audible yawn right in the middle of AJ's call. I don't know if that just came out naturally or. Yeah, you know, one thing you do, I mean, you're always aware of the situation when you do what we all do here. In that case, I really wanted people to hear the yawn. It had me rolling, man. I've actually been under the weather for the last couple of days, so I haven't called and in that I've been listening a lot. And I think I've found that that might be the secret to being a better collar is not necessarily being here every day that kind of listening and making room for other people. So I think maybe I won't call in every day, but I'll leave room for others and join in occasionally because this place is still fun. I do have a quick memorabilia story for you since that we were talking about yesterday if you've got time to humor me for it. Go ahead. Yeah, go ahead. So the year was 99. I was a freshman in college, walked onto a D two football program. And this is the year after the sterner stumble. When we went to Tennessee and lost after Clint stern or tripped over borough source and fumbled the ball. So anyway, we beat Tennessee 28 24 and Fayetteville turns into a madhouse. In the next weekend, my roommate, a guy who was a freshman quarterback for the same theme as me. He looking and said, hey, Lin rock and I said, hell yeah, 'cause that's back when we used to play games in Little Rock. So we go play Mississippi state, beat them and for some reason like there was this impetus to rush the field again. We just rushed at the weekend before. And so anyway, rush the field down at one memorial. And I think the statute of limitation is up on this so I can tell it. But I ended up getting out of there with one of the pylons that goes around the end zone. I picked it up and started waving it around and nobody told me to put it down. So being a kind of a young mischievous scamp, I stuck it underneath my 30 year ended up getting out with him to this day I still have a pylon from war memorial stadium after the mission. Oh, that is great. Thank you very much. I appreciate that story. By the way, just happened to see a story by David eckhart in the clarion ledger where he is reporting what many have been speculating that Chris beard is the top candidate to replace Kermit Davis at old miss and the school is doing due diligence. Remember it was beard who was fired from the University of Texas. They were the number one team in the country after an episode with his fiance, a couple of months ago. We'll keep you posted on that. We are live in Nashville. We also keep taking your phone calls with guests coming in at 8 5 5 two four two 7 two 8 5. We're talking to rig Barnes to start off. We'll talk to Bruce pearl coming up shortly.

"You might have I'll give you a hint here. YouTube, you see what I'm doing on the YouTube. What have I got here? Oh, is it what's his Smith at Mississippi state? Yeah, I'm ringing my cowbell for those of you. You want to go obscure. And nothing obscure about it. He's one of the best players in the league over the last 6 weeks. You compare his stat line to Oscar she weighs over that same time. And the Oscars last 11 games, 16.1, 11.6. So he does have him beat on the glass, no surprise there. On 52.6% shooting. So best big man in the SEC right now, it's not Oscar. It's toluse Smith at Mississippi state. Good stuff. Let's talk bubble teams here. Teams that need to get at least one win to have their name called on selection Sunday. Arkansas auburn we talked to them that they should be safe. But just intriguing stuff to watch Mississippi state feels like the only team that actually qualifies here, vandy, I'm getting to you in just a second, hold on. All team sheet metrics as we record this on Monday afternoon from Mississippi state between 40 and 54. 7 and ten on the top two quadrants, they do have the loss against Georgia. Mississippi state is probably, if you want them in the field right now, they're one of the last two or three inn. I would think four quad one wins, I could go either way with this team. I would strongly advise clang a gets the win over Florida. I think it's out if it loses Kyle I gotta thank you agree. Yeah, you can't lose that game against a Florida team that doesn't have a Colin castleton. So talking about toluse Smith, no excuse for him not to eat in that game against the Gators and then you look at Mississippi state in a potential quarterfinal matchup with Alabama. They took Alabama down to the wire in Tuscaloosa, several weeks back before the Brandon Miller stuff came out. So I don't think they'll necessarily be in any way shape or form intimidated by a potential quarterfinal game against Alabama. So I mean, tip in my hand here, but Mississippi state is sort of my dark horse and they might even qualify as I quote unquote bid thief given where they stand as one of the last four in at the moment, according to Jerry palm. So they're a dangerous team, a team that's been playing well over the last few weeks. And yeah, absolutely must win against a Florida team that only chance at this point for them would be to run the table. And that's not going to happen without castleton. Now let's talk vanity real quick. This was a ten and 12 team entering February. It is one 8 of its past 9. The only loss at LSU, the 15 seat in this conference, but it is closing in. It just needs to, it needs to make a run here in the tournament because right now it's metrics just don't support and at large case. 83 in the net, 85 and BPI, 81 and Ken palm, 70 in Sagar and it is healthy and KPI at 40, and then 52 in strength of record. But it's sub 500 quad one quad two, but it's a good record, 9 and ten. That's better than a lot of other teams. And then it's got the three combined Q three Q four losses, which is what's dragging it down. Vandy, I can't call you a bubble team yet. You need to beat Kentucky. If vandy beats Kentucky, we've got a really interesting conversation, but you got to do it. We'll keep an eye on that. Jerry stackhouse has done a really, really good job. And on that note, as I transitioned, vandy is my pick for bid thief or fringe bubble team that can win it. If I'm looking at this bracket right here, you know, if you're watching on YouTube, please again. Go ahead. You don't even have to smash. How much does a little touch? We'll touch first if you could. Appreciate you so much. Vandy over Kentucky is on a conceivable because hello. We just saw it happen. And then you got Arkansas a and M or auburn in the semis. All that is a gettable situation. So I do expect the SEC similar to what we talked about in the Big Ten episode to be, I think there's going to be I think Cobb, we are going to have, we are going to see in these conference tournaments, a level of exciting finishes, but results on balance that are going to reflect what we just watched for three and a half months. I mean, there had never been more ranked teams that lost to unranked opponents this season than ever before. This was the most in any given season we've ever seen that. And ranked teams in total took more losses in the regular season than any season before. So I think these conference tournaments are going to reflect that and I think that you're going to have at most two one seeds of the 6 big 6 leagues win when their conference tournaments too. I set the over under on HQ at 1.5. I'm saying it's two. I do think Alabama has a chance to be one of them, but my long shot dark horse bid thief candidate. It's vandy on the 6th line. Who do you got? Yeah, I'm going Mississippi state and it's just because I'm a little worried about the sustainability with Vanderbilt now that Liam Robbins is done. That's a tough pill for them to swallow. And I know they overcame that their regular season finale and all the credit in the world goes to stack for figuring this thing out and going from a coach who I thought was on the hot seat in early January to one who is now receiving widespread praise for doing an incredible job. And that that praise will only grow if he does manage to piece something together here without their big man and Liam Robbins. But yeah, this would be sad as that team for me. You go back and look, they were one in 7 to start the league play this year, but it's because for their first 8 games in league, we're against either Alabama or Tennessee. It was just an absolutely front loaded schedule. And now they're deep into year one under Christians. It seems like that roster understands how he wants to play and toluse Smith is on an incredible heater. So yeah, this would be safe that team that I think could I would pick to sort of make a surprise run here this week. You mentioned hot seat stuff. The only situation in the SEC where that applies a little miss already fired Kermit Davis, everyone else, as things stand right now anyway, not expected to have any other coaching changes in that Lake before we pick our title game matchup in winter. I got to ask you about your vaults. Just talk on them real quick here. They're the 5 seed no ziegler out for the year with an ACL, a Tennessee was thought to maybe potentially be the one seat in this conference, you know, a couple months back and we look up here, they assemble the bracket, shakes out like this.

"To pay the extra money to watch his show on cable so he just comes in every day. You know, with everything that's going on and on this show this week. Aren't you glad you are who you are and I'm glad who I am. Let me ask you this. When you go home and take your foot out of your mouth is it usually your right foot and your left foot? The right foot usually because I have a harder time with my left. That's why you quit wearing them bringing them all his shoes because your gum that one up didn't you? How did you know that? Hey, hey, if it don't fit, you must acquit. You gotta quit wearing them. You know, all I tell you why I'm so proud to be me, I don't have to worry about not taking my gun or anything like that. I don't have to talk to my lawyer this morning. I don't have to talk to your lawyer tomorrow morning. I don't have to do depositions. I don't have to look over my shoulder and you know, it's such a pleasure. Just being made. Just being made, that's the real deal. That's real money. You know, I'm just where would we be right now? If it wasn't for all these middle aged people, they did not, you know, they, they were clued to Charlie's Angels and ironside. And they all stayed at a Holiday Inn express and they did that muffin. They know everything about the law. Everything about the law. And what they all failed to realize, this is multi million dollar business. This is whale damn money. They gonna do what they gonna do. And you just buy your damn ticket and sit in the cheap seat. Paul, don't you long for the days when pat dye comes on and he's explaining to everybody why Brett fool wood didn't go to school and they wanted him kicked out of school. They wanted him railroaded. They wanted pat's job. Because Brentford would then go to school. Now look where we're at. Look at these crossroads. Paul hell just two months ago, you want a huge freeze fire every damn tweeted. By the way, I still have not seen a tweet from Hugh freeze. You know why because tweets tweeting ain't a damn good thing, but you can go to a nightclub, take a gun and escape mask and gloves and take your crack pipes. You can do all kinds of things. Okay, we're enough of the call was bad, but it finally went off the road. We're up against a break. We will get an update on the Kermit Davis situation. He was fired today at all missiles in the next hour who could be replacing him. And we'll send the paramedics down to pick up Iman's miss. You were listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. Header and gymnastics, Kentucky, Florida, Georgia auburn, Missouri, Arkansas starts soon. And Booker is up next in New Jersey, a hello Booker. Hello, Paul. How are you doing? Booker, we are doing well. Thank you. Yeah, thanks for taking the call. I've been, I've been watching the ongoing saga with Brandon Miller and all of what's going on. I was just sitting watching. But one of your last callers squirrel, did he? Was he suggesting that this happened because the shooter happened to be from Baltimore, a Washington? You could infer that, yes. Yeah, well, not wait. Now, when you guys go out to recruit, do they put geographical boundaries in SEC about where they're going to bring players in? No, they do not. I mean, that's asinine. I never thought I was on a he mentioned 55. You for me with his 82 runs out of Tuscaloosa going down to Mississippi. Yes, sir. I was on a bus on my college football team in 19 60 two. Went to Tuscaloosa, we were going to Louisiana. I won't name it. My school might give up my last name. And we will stop. When we crossed in the Mississippi, by the Mississippi state troopers, guns aim is out as Greyhound bus all these African Americans and the guy came up on it because he thought all the drivers were Caucasian at that time. But where are you taking all of these and he used the N word? He said, well, football team. Football, these big blanks. They were here. They should be picking cotton. And I came up on it with a sawed off shotgun. Just to let us know that if we were there for trouble, it comes at our own, but we will only go in down to play Grammy by the time we got to Graham that nobody wanted to play football. We got beat 55 and nothing. So we want to get back to South Carolina. Was Eddie coaching at the time? I assume he was. Yeah, sure. I knew Eddie Robinson, here I go, I used to pick him up at the airport and sometime at the train station and Columbia South Carolina because the president of the school that I attended was also the president of the college where it Robinson. And it was one of his favorite students. Pick him up when he would come to Columbia to visit the college president there. Because he was like, his son, so I knew him very well, up close and personally. Booker, I will tell you. I caught coach Robinson late in his career, but I worked in Louisiana. I've told the story years ago, but I called him one day and so I'd like to spend some time around the program and he said, well, I got an idea. He said, you come over and I rode the bus from grambling to, Mississippi. And he let me spend the entire weekend in the locker room at dinner. I sat with him on the bus and I will tell you and it was more than 40 years ago. It remains one of the most memorable and meaningful weekends I've ever had in my profession.

"Hoops on Monday night, part 5, the continue of what has been a critical acclaim series and we'll talk more about it on Monday. So the news earlier today, all miss fired Kermit Davis with two weeks from a week and a half remaining in the season. And now the conversation about who will take his place. It was a rough ride for Kermit, made the NCAA tournament first year, and then didn't get back. Jeff Goodman, rejoins us to spend a while since we've had a chance to talk to Jeff who used to talk to them all the time when he was at ESPN. Jeff, thanks for your time. Great to have you back. How are you? I'm good. I'm good. All is well. The fact that I'm back here in Boston to the snow. That's not so good, Paul. I got smart though. I got one kid. She's a freshman in Indiana. So we spent 6 weeks in Charleston. And the only dumb thing was the only dump thing was leaving Charleston after 6 weeks instead of about 12. I'm not that far from Charleston. It was in the 70s here today and 80 yesterday. Thanks. Not to rub it in. Jeff, I want to talk to you about the Alabama situation in a couple of minutes, but I want to start with Kermit Davis. He is now gone, not a big surprise. Most people thought he would not make it this year. But what are you hearing in relation to who could be next? Oh, you can love these names. We got a little crisp beard. That is going to be at least looked at in researched will wade another one who I think will be researched and obviously both of them carry baggage in different ways. We'll wade still kind of working his way through the NCAA investigation right now after being fired at LSU. Chris beard as we know the charges were dropped, the assault charges by the DA, but ultimately they're still going to be some question marks whether or not he can be hired. At an SEC school this quickly with all the damage it was done from that police report, those are two dusty may, another one that has some connections, their dusty is the only coach in the country right now. In the mid major, the one bid league is at FAU, who's in the at large conversation. And we're getting the NCAA tournament. And I'm telling you, it's a brutally tough job. If you go down there, which I was there a few weeks ago to both your return, it looks awesome. Right near the beach. But if you see the facilities, if you see the support, it's one of the toughest jobs in the league and he's got them on the brink of winning the regular season title right now. And he's got a connection in that. He worked for Mike white. Mike white played it or missed played with Keith Carter the AD I don't miss. Yes, Keith Carter definitely a basketball guy. Jeff, on beard, let's talk about him for a second because I realized his fiance dropped the charges, but that's doesn't really absolve the mess that he got himself in that he lost one of the best jobs in the country. I mean, how bad is it for him? Well, it depends on who's hiring, right? I mean, obviously, you know, the hard part for him is going to be getting everybody on board, right? It's not just the athletic director. It's the board. It's the president or the Chancellor and obviously it's going to be hard for him to recruit at the same level because, you know, whether or not he was guilty, innocent, whatever, it doesn't look good. Certainly for women, right? If you're a mother, how are you reacting to crispy or recruiting your son? So I think that's something that's going to be a hurdle for him to have to overcome wherever he's hired. Can he get an SEC job? Or does he have to start with something smaller end? One big league, maybe like a wicked House state if that opens a western Kentucky for stansbury's fire, which I'm told he probably will be here. So I don't know. I mean, again, does he take the year off? I don't think he does. I think he takes a job and he will get an opportunity at a job this year in this carousel, but I don't know if it's going to be an SEC job. What's Jeff Goodman? Jeff, let me get to the story of the week here and in college basketball. And that's the situation in Tuscaloosa. I realize we don't know very much, but from what we do know, your thoughts on the way NATO and in particular, the university has handled it so far. So obviously Nate didn't handle it well from the first pressing conference, right? I mean, that was a train wreck and how he handled it. But I still listen, when I'm looking at this whole thing and I spent time with Brandon Miller in Portland, I talked to his parents and his brother prior to all of this for a story that I was working on for more than an hour. I think it was, again, I just see people crucifying him right now. And what I go back to is, has he been charged with anything? Is he a suspect? I'm just, I've been doing this long enough to understand that that's generally what I go on right now, right? I made mistakes when I was younger as a reporter. I remember Patrick Beverly. It was Patrick Beverly the kind of changed the way I looked at things and they were, if you remember, they were accused of sexual assault. Patrick Beverly and a couple other players down at Arkansas years ago. And I remember putting their names out there. And after that, I just said to myself, I'm going to be more careful with these situations because they were later absolved.

"It's flowing good right now and I'll say that and then Arkansas going to have some big things in football. I think KJ Jefferson will be in New York next year and you'll be first team all preseason and we will go 11 and one. Well, Trey, thank you. I love upbeat fan. Your basketball prediction is intriguing. And I'm not laughing at it because I think Arkansas is playing extremely well. They have everybody back. I think they have one of the most dangerous march coaches in the country in coach Musk. Thank you very, very much. Matt. All better how you doing, mister Paul fine bomb. There's some news you might find interesting. You might hurt a guest today. The actual thing in and back in Texas, I need to do that for you to play a solid film in 2024. I want your thoughts on that. And what do you think of our backlog being this? I'm impressed. I can't do what I thought. I want your thoughts on it. How does it get to be like a 2024? Yeah, man, I think browser is a great basketball coach and what you're talking about is Ross Björk, the athletic director at a and M is quoted as saying that the first Texas a and M Texas game will be a Kyle field. We had the writer for the athletic on yesterday who wrote about that. Thanks for the call. Appreciate it very, very much. And Louis is an Arkansas. Hey Louie, good afternoon. Hey, Paul. I'm not going to ask you how you're doing. I want to tell you a little short story and then I have a couple of things I want to talk about. Oh boy, he's at home. Alarm goes off at gets up out of bed. He goes outside to see the dog and steps on the dog's tail of the dog turns around biting. The guy goes back inside the house, his wife's hand and he coffee and spills on his arm, the top. And it falls and breaks, and then he goes into work and the first thing that happens with boss comes in, he says, hey, you didn't fill out these reports. And it was just all downhill. He gets in from work. And he goes inside and sits down and watches TV for a little bit, about ten minutes later. He hears a knock on the door. He opens the door and it's his tail end dragon in. So I'm thinking that's probably how you're feeling though over the suite. But this is what I do and I love doing it so I appreciate all the kind words, but we're doing great here. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who are not as a result of this absolute tragedy. You'd be well. You take care of yourself. Bobby is an Oxford. Hey, Bobby. Hey, Paul. Well, it's been interesting. Can you hear me? Yes, I can. You sound great. Okay. Two quick questions. And obviously, I'm an old mister one, and. Yet call around a couple of days ago that made it really good point and I haven't seen it in a dress on any other of the ESPN shows and they try to address everything else out soon, but he made the point that. Even if the Alabama star player or whatever isn't guilty or should have been dead and went to the investigation turns out. But he made the point that he violated the student rule of multiple issues and if you just Joe smoke, then they pull that card, but if there's somebody else and I don't pull that card and I want your thoughts on that and then finally, omens fired their basketball coach with some. And I just wanted to see if you knew anybody that maybe. Yeah, Bobby, on the second part, Kermit Davis was a go today. There's a lot of names being mentioned. Probably the most interesting name was Chris beard. Who remember was that Texas? Took his team a couple of years ago to the championship game, then he got hired at Texas, had the team number one in the country and then he got fired in this rather ugly domestic issue. Where he was arrested or he was, I think he was arrested and then his fiance dropped the charges. I think it's a real opportunity for all this to bring in a big name coach. Someone who can advance the program, which it needs. It really has gone nowhere recently. We'll take a short break. We are coming back with much, much more. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Continue on AJ is up next. Mister fine bomb, happy Friday. I want to do a BMW for the way. If you don't mind? No. I think that dust is way one of the best of the work. I've got two. Best of the week was Dustin Collin breaking up the morale for the week. That was, I literally busted out laughing driving down the road listening about him. My sister, but it was asking you for the vibe. About what to do, but unfortunately my brother is a non binary that identifies as a woman, so that might be why he's over such a hard time. You know, the best of the week, though, part is how you've proven how you are the goat of all goats. I mean, wait, the lawyers need to quit calling in on Friday today. Okay, because we now allow yours don't work on Friday, pal. And you have literally sliced and diced this debacle in Tuscaloosa. So many and answered hundreds and hundreds of questions and possible I mean, Paul, you've literally proven yourself over and over again all week. You've done, I mean, you are absolutely the best in sports talk show. I mean, it doesn't get any better. You're going to force me to like you again. No, I'm not. Let's get hang on a minute. You know, but I'm being dead serious. You know, I've kind of conjured you around about the money you make, you know? You know, but you deserve to be where you're at, my brother. Thank you. And I have to take my black cat to you. Today, 100%. There's not one person that has been hammered with questions. You spent 20 hours on your show this week. And just boom, boom, boom. You got to answer for everything or a possible or I just don't know. But what if? And you've done a great job, follow this way. Absolutely great job. I mean, I just have to commend you and I want to challenge the fine bomb nation for the next two hours. Let's leave this man alone. He's already proved and said, oh, he can say. "And welcome in to Friday, the weekend has arrived and thanks so much for being a part of the program. We will head to Tuscaloosa in just a moment, Nate Oates, spoke a few about an hour and a half ago. We'll have the latest on that, but there is some news from the SEC all miss has fired men's basketball coach Kermit Davis that announcement came this morning. He got off to a good start going to the tournament in year one that's been downhill ever since for the very likeable Kermit Davis, always enjoyed seeing him and drop into Oxford, but he is gone. And interim coach the rest of the way. How about this from the ACC, the Florida AD at a board meeting said something has to change with the ACC for the Knowles to win big. There is a lot of frustration with the ACC and the grant of rights deal and their television deals. There's all kinds of speculation down the road about FSU and other schools. We'll get into that later in the program. But we begin with the story we've been following all week long, this is a headline from pat 40, the rest of Alabama's season, seemingly fraught with issues. And Coley Harvey has been covering the story all week long. We talked to him the other day in Columbia Cohen, thanks for joining us from Tuscaloosa. I understand you were at the oats presser earlier this afternoon, good afternoon, tell us what's going on there. Yeah, good afternoon, Paul. We are here in Tuscaloosa, and just a little bit ago, Alabama head coach NATO's did address the media heading into tomorrow's game against Arkansas that is right here inside Coleman coliseum. And the big news that came out of that was that he feels as if the pulse of his team right now, despite everything that it has been dealing with this entire pest month going all the way back to January 15th, excuse me, when 23 year old jamia Harris was shot and killed in that incident involving Darius miles and now former tide player, as well as his acquaintance of Michael Davis. Just going back to that. This is a team that even with all of that happening, the post still around them is good according to NATO's. Here's a little bit more of what he had to say as I get ready for this game. The whole team understands how tragic and serious the situation that we're dealing with this since day one really the first mean we had the first Sunday. I think they're doing a great job. Just understanding that we're still focused on the task at hand, Walt still understanding how tragic and serious the situation is. But, you know, I think they're pretty good and people asked about our play Wednesday night. We didn't play our best game, but it's hard for me to know exactly. I feel like the pulse of the team is pretty good though to be honest with you. So if today's practicing indication, energy was good and our guys were doing a great job doing what we're asking them to do to prepare for Arkansas. We've been taking it very seriously from day one. I'm in the first minute I got the information I called Greg and we've talked about it. We've known the severity of it, but Greg, I thought did a great job addressing those comments on Wednesday. And I don't really have much else to add to it. We feel like we've done the right thing in this case. So I'm going to leave it at that with Craig's comments that he addressed. Now, Paul, that last part that you just heard there were oats was talking about the conversation he had with AD Greg burn. That was in reference to a question that I actually had to him about Brandon Miller, the freshman forward, and the connection that was raised during Tuesday's preliminary hearing, the connection that Brendan Miller apparently had to this incident on January 15th. And just the talking with people around Alabama also people around branded Miller. There was some shock and surprise that his name was linked to this in that hearing because everything that they've been told to this point is that he's not criminally charged. The evidence is shown that he had no culpability in the incident itself to their knowledge. And so there was some genuine concern that he was outlined in that statement. That's where his name, of course, became public in connection, possibly to this. That all being said, because there have been no criminal charges against Miller. The university has had these conversations within themselves, Greg burned his talk to NATO. He's also talked to the school president as well as legal counsel here, and they have come to that understanding that they should continue to play Brandon Miller as well as Jaden Bradley, who was also outlined in that testimony from a police officer on Tuesday. We were watching the press conference up here while you were there. Something that surprised me, and I want to ask you about that, I realize NATO's works for Greg Byrne, but it was the feeling of a lot of people with whom we've spoken to that that Greg burn confused the issue dramatically on I guess it was Tuesday or Wednesday with his interview with Reese. Because NATO said that he was aware of a lot of this early on Greg Bern acted like all that's just fell out of the tree and he seemingly according to some people with whom we've spoken through NATO under the bus. I realize I've given you a lot to unpack there, but can you help us understand that praise of Greg burn there when a lot of people saw it completely differently? Yeah, well, for my understanding here in the last couple of days, it appears as if, honestly, Nate Oates was unaware of what was going on in the moment on Tuesday when he had that news conference where he kind of said some things that people really did not take well. He essentially said Brandon Miller was in quote the wrong place at the wrong time and didn't really seem to be deferring to the loss that took place that night with jamia Harris family. That being said, he did not really get the forewarning of what was going on in the hearing at that time. The hearing was actually still live playing out across town at the moment that NATO was speaking. And so that's where some of that maybe perhaps the perception of Bern throwing him under the bus the next day, maybe that's where that came from because oats did not have quite all the information at that time. So that's why he did say, hey, we did know from the beginning that there may have been a connection with Brandon Miller being president, I should say, at that particular event, but there is no there it doesn't appear to be any concern between those two natos and Greg Byrne. They appear to be trying to get on the same page now. I can say that the other night after the game there in Columbia Byrne was present. I was not here Tuesday, so I'm not quite sure if he was in the room when coach oats was speaking, but he was present Wednesday night after the game. And even today, during that question, you just heard oats his answer. He was essentially deferring to his athletic director saying I'm going to let his statement from Wednesday stand. So at this point, they appear to be trying to get on the same page. Coy, I realized Byrne did that podcast, but has he made himself available to people like you and the local media to expound or explain some of his comments from the other day? My understanding at least for the local media standpoint is that he is not necessarily done that at this stage. I will say I did speak to him just in passing during halftime actually of the game Wednesday night. And he told me that he felt it was important to speak on the podcast that day. In order to give some balance to the story because he felt the day before that his player was getting unfairly railroaded in a sense that his name all of a sudden came out of the ether. And so to his knowledge, it was, it did feel like it was kind of coming out of nowhere. To the details of what happened. I think that's where Byrne was a little bit blindsided perhaps from that testimony on Tuesday. But it does seem clear that the university was made aware even the morning of that Sunday morning of January 15th that two other players were present, but law enforcement's investigation from that point to now has cleared those two of any wrongdoing and that's why they're still on this team and still playing.

"Win an aside last night, GP real quick on this because I do believe this top four candidate right now for national champion. I would have them there. I have that much belief in the team because of the veteran, the veteran presence on this group, man. Yes, they've got some good young talent, but between Campbell, hawkes, Jalen Clark is a beast on the defensive end, singleton is super reliable. They've just got enough there and veteran point guard play, that right now, I'd go, I don't know, and no order, Houston perdue, UCLA, you have to put, frankly, we're just talking basketball. They're going to have the guys like Bama has to be in that conversation. Did I mention Kansas? If I mentioned 5 there, that's probably the 5. UCLA having that group. I just find them to be super steady and super reliable. Are you generally speaking? Are you in on UCLA as among the three, four, 5 at most, most likely national title contenders? Yes. I have them 5th in the top 25 and one right now. They check every box. They've got the greatest coach in UCLA history. They have NBA talent, they have experience, how many podcasts is obviously both of those things. He's a future NBA player who is also super experienced. They're experienced at point guard. Yeah, they have everything you have to have to win a national championship. I don't know that they will, but they can. They have the stuff you need. Okay. Can I ask you one more question? You didn't ask me however many questions you want. UCLA's all fine and good, but I'm just a little surprised here. That's all. Okay, the pickup two quad quad one wins in one night. I mean, very few coaches can do that. It might just be cronin. But John, somebody pointed out, you never did. John would never even got one quadrant one win. If you think about it, and Mick cronin is just out there randomly on a Thursday night, getting two. And picking up two quad one wins in one night. That's all he's doing. He's just asking questions, going out on Thursday, grabbing two quadrant one wins. I mean, what are we even talking about? Why don't we stay in the court? Nail can stay. There we go. But you have to go in on UCLA when, you know, Illinois comes back from 19 down to end a northwestern 5 game winning streak, Karen Shannon returns after missing the past few games, drops 26, huge. I mean, I thought you were the conductor or as you would say, the engineer of this train, but did they just, they just boot you off in the middle of a desert passage and you're just strolling by yourself. Have you been booted off the train? Is that why you didn't want to bring up what Illinois pulled off and champagne on Thursday night? I am the captain. Look at me. Look at me. I'm the captain. Where's your hat? I need a hat. I'm the captain now. But at a respect for the ghost of Tom finale, I didn't want to bring any attention to Illinois good anymore. There's a track record here. Every time I tell you how great Illinois is doing, it gets real bad real quick. And so at a respect of our late colleague, I just staying out of it, you know? I'm just staying out of it and hoping things continue to go well. All right, well, I will congratulate Illinois on getting a good win. Continuing to molasses up that Big Ten race because northwestern is now two games behind Purdue as I've been saying for 7 years now Purdue is going to be the 2023 Big Ten champion, theta Copley. And now you've got northwestern with 6 losses, then right behind him, Illinois, Michigan, Maryland, Indiana all with 7. Michigan state has 7. And then behind them, Rutgers, which took an L Michigan beat Rutgers. That was actually necessary for Michigan's at large life, which is they're still not in the bracket. But Rutgers, Iowa also have 8 losses. It is just a complete quagmire in the middle there. And a northwestern lost for the first time in 6 games as an underdog. He had won 5 in a row as a dog. So it was on the road, no shame in that we've talked about how tough the rest of that schedule is on the way now northwestern will play this Sunday against Maryland. We had a headline break Friday morning GP. You want to get to that? Old myth has announced that Kermit Davis has coached the rebels for the final time. Everybody expected Kermit would not return next season for a 6th season. I think that's fair to say. But I don't know that we expected it to pop in February with three regular season games remaining. Ultimately, I don't guess the timing matters much, but it is official now, Kermit Davis is out at old miss and the rebels will have a new coach next season. Yeah, this is not a surprising development. There was even, frankly, a year ago, there was rumor mongering that olmes would open, Mike white would go to his Alma mater instead, Mike white slipped out the side door and got that Georgia job in the dark at night and here we are. And so all men had not been a good team. This was expected. I didn't expect it to happen this morning. But it did happen. Kermit is out. We have heap praise on Kermit. He's a good dude, good coach. And we just need more guys named Kermit and sports. I think that's been really the primary stands for parish, right? Yes.

"What's the one thing you're watching for me? It's a Kentucky auburn final. Kentucky auburn, yeah. For the number one seat. Yep. Yeah, and who can kind of sneak in there? I don't necessarily think the big 12 will hang on to two one seats with Baylor and Kansas. No way. So I think the Kentucky and auburn, whoever wins that is going to have the last one seat. So I think that to me is the biggest, the biggest story. The other one in the SEC is watch for all the coaches that are going to get fired. There's going to be a bunch. There's going to be a bike. George is already announced. They haven't announced, but it's going to happen. So just don't miss Missouri game, the old miss Missouri game today could be both of them being gone. That could be congeal and Kermit Davis. Mississippi state Ben Howland and playing Frank Martin, they're both like they're gone. So you have two matchups today in which all four coaches to me are probably likely gone. And then Georgia, that's 5. And then the thing you gotta really watch out for is so Mike white played Florida head coach played with Keith Carter, the old miss AD at old miss. Okay. Could Mike white if they make a move on Kermit Davis, could he go back to his Alma mater? Because they kind of kill him. The Florida fan base kills him. And they're first four out. Our next four hour, I think. It's probably not going to make it unless they got a B Texas a and M and B to album. Well, these Carter NCA tournament 1998 stuff. Look at you. That's pretty impressive. Yeah, of course. I mean, I know that they all played in the whole movie. Yeah. That's right. That's right. They went for our community. You locked down for that valpo community..

"WSB. Dogs lead Ole miss by six with 3 44 to go here and half number one. The big lead of the half has been 9 25 to 16 in the rebel scored seven in a row before Dogs pulled away to maintain their current lead, and Wheeler hit a three during that stretch tires. Got a couple of threes for the dogs tonight. Christian Brown, with one severe, is the leading scorer for the dogs. Thus far with eight points a couple of assists, two rebounds, Tired tomorrow, each with six Joyner, the leading scorer for the rebels, with five as old miss will have the basketball 20 Hill on the shot clock. 3 44 to go first half bill inbound left baseline under their basket. Are killed. Joyner jumps to throw it into Romelo White at the three point line. Pick out Rodriguez wide open three. Well wait ball watching that time Rodriguez was the closest friend. Yes, you were. You should have reached out and got a hand in his face. Nobody, nobody else That's got George on was anywhere nearing 31 28. That's their first three pointer today. Wheeler foul line to the elbow, skips it out of the window horn PJ curls around, gives it back to severe on the logo of nine to shoot. Wheeler. Left hand dribble through the legs. Gonna drive. Jump back pass to Katie Johnson with two with one jump pass faster tomorrow and he lays it in the clock expired yet. Katie had to take that shot at no doubt had to go ahead. Lay it up, but was not aware of the clock tomorrow made it on the follow. But as you heard the buzzer sounded and the dogs have a shot clock violation. We turned it over up 3 31 28 less than three minutes to go. So we traveled. He did. Indeed, Robert Allen took the past from Shuler top of the key, and he's glad he traveled cause he charged too. So he didn't pick up the foul, But he did turn it over. Georgia will have the ball. Tomorrow, feeds it into the backcourt. Two wheeler seven turnovers in the game for all Miss eight by the Bulldogs. Georgia has the most in the SEC. On average. We Average 17 turnovers the game to our detriment. Wheeler feeds Fagan underneath in traffic, reverse lay and will not go rebound, tapped out picked up on the run by Rodriguez for Ole Miss. He's gonna drive inside. Horn tried to draw a charge but fell away before the contact was going and he was in the semi circle as well. You need to leave. Take the God. If you're trying to fool the official least get hit, Rodriguez gets the lay and he's got nine now, and it's a one point lead for Georgia. We led by nine just a little while ago. 31 30 years Wheeler. They leave him open defensively misses the long two from the right way rebound on the baseline. Rodriguez for old Miss Outlet to Shuler. If I take Shuler right to left up the near side line gives it to Romelo wide long 17 footer left side. Good over Horn and the rebels have come back to take the lead from nine down there up 32 31 way. Just do not get offensive rebounds They've got 11. We got three horn for three. There it is the drought. DJ Horn, Right Corner three and Miss 14 straight over the last three games. He hits his first of the evening. And we needed that. Well, now, maybe that'll get him going on 34 30 to Georgia by two again. Rebels ball less than 90 seconds to go in the first half. Robert Allen pivots top of the key to go to the wing to sure feed it. Download of Romelo white matched up with horns. Right of the lane horn going to get the loose basketball swatting at it. Now, the whistle blows files on Romelo. Why it does after he lost possession. Yeah, White called for the foul. He's laying on his back, mostly out of discuss and shame. I think for turning the ball over them committing the foul. He's okay. Yeah, PJ had stolen. The ball was headed the other way, and he fouled him Horn with good defense. Got those hands in there got the deflection way. We're gonna have the ball. That's when White was called for the foul. After he had lost the possession. So the dogs have it back with 1 15 to go in the half and leading 34 32. We'll get tire Camara. Better horn and Wheeler. That's our five on the floor here on this stretch with 70 seconds to go, Wheeler behind a screen from two money dribbles left to the lane. One dribble behind the back. Too many lost the handle. Picked up by Joyner Jr killed Joyner gonna drive and lay it up for Ole Miss, and we're tied at 34 dogs quickly in the front court right into the floor. Toumani Long, Two nails on its A three. That was a three right corner three for two money. His first of the night. He's got nine and the dogs break the tie. And now lead it. 37 34 40 seconds to go now less than that here in the first half, Get a stop here. Kermit Davis, their head coach, almost all the way out at half court. He was well past the hash mark in the coach's box. Now he gets back in his box. Almost with a basketball seven to shoot Joyner tow Alan at the free throw line back to Joyner Hand in his face from tomorrow misses the three wheeler rebounds. Dogs with the ball 16 to shoot Wheeler. Gonna attack enter, threw it behind him along the baseline, Jackson enter, was cutting from the left side of the past sale behind him. Not a good pass. Well, I thought we were just gonna take the final seconds off the clock. Hold for that last shot. But we didn't. We were just attacking all the way. Now hold. Miss could do that with 12. Seconds to go in the half. It's a three point Georgia lead Ole Miss with a basketball. Shuler works it up against Wheeler Lost the dribble. Falls down. Kyra picks it up. Rolling on the floor throws. Ah, hi hangar in the air. Joyner got it who went over and back with it at mid court, however, and the dogs are.

"It looked like it was headed right in the middle of basket ball is still up over the cylinder. Camara came in from the left side was trying to dunk it while it was still over. The cylinder looked like it was gonna go. Man. That's no points missed opportunity for the dogs old this with the basketball down. Rebels work on the far side. They lose the basketball of tight Georgia defense. Morel and Joyner turned it over right in front of the Georgia bench area on the far sideline. Lose the ball out of bounds. Dogs have the possession down 10 to 9 almost just waiting to trap Wheeler soon as he steps into the front court. Well over the ball. Just get passed on the right wing to Cairo. He attacks through the lane drops it off down low. Fagan layup. Good. Justin, tired in a great job, penetrating their defense right to the middle of the paint as the defense collapsed on him. Nice little bounce past time Guy tires. 43rd assist of the season is first to the night. Here's old mess on the drive by Often down the right edge of the lane, and his shot is no good and on the rebound, there's a foul of push on the old Miss rebels, Dogs will have the ball. Leading by 1 11 10 fouls called on the Sami Hunter, who checked into the ball game, a six night sophomore forward from the Bahamas. 13 44 on the clock. First half dogs and white old Miss all in red will get a white trim. On the uniforms tonight, Wheeler dribbles around the foul lines spends kids about tire on the right wing Justin now dribbles between the circles feeds it inside to Fagan. Bounce pass. No, look down on the baseline to come, are at a reverse lay in by two money out old cause to money was doing what Tom Creen logs he was cutting to the basket. So tomorrow with four points now, and Kermit Davis calls a time a 32nd time out, as Georgia now leads it by a score of 13. 10 that matches the largest lead here early in this ballgame on Dawg fans. If you need a home loan toe, sit your team and budget Rocket can Rocket mortgage is the proud mortgage partner of Georgia athletics. So the dogs up by three the SEC Big 12 challenges going on today, Georgia and Ole Miss? Obviously, South Carolina Vanderbilt are the four teams out of the SEC, not Dissipating this year early 10 teams in the big 12. We'll figure that out, so somebody gets left out in the 14 team. SEC. And this year it's the four teams that I just mentioned here's old miss with a basketball. Sure Devante Shuler will work it up the floor against Wheeler or Bellow. White has it in the circle will hand it off to Morel. Jumper is too deep off the back iron, No good, long rebound. However, right back told Miss Rebels get another crack at it. Here's Rodriguez to the rack lay in from the right side. Good. We let it go. That's his first points of the night. Luis Rodriguez 66 sophomore California He could be dangerous hopefully doesn't get to that point. Garcia is in for the dogs. Now. Andrew's doubled on the block kicks it back out to Cairo for three here. It's a scanner Energy three just right of the circle for just well, they had Andrew double team than a third defender went to him. Justin Kyra was all by himself. 16 12 Dogs by four on Katie Johnson and checked into the ball game now is called for a blocking foul. Freshman from Atlanta. And old Miss will inbound near sideline in front court down 16 to 12 dogs of going to his own to now, Scott Shuler will try to shoot over. It shoots in too deep, no good, rebound the little fellow skies in there and grabs it with two hands. Wheeler will take it. In Iraq on the other, and he's bumped going through the lane. Continuation. Maybe so I think the basket goes. Come on. They do it in county. There you go. You'll go to the line for three point play. Wheeler gets the point. And, in all fairness, you so what severe did a heat threw his body into, but that's what he's got the right to do. Fouls on Devante. Sure, that's his first foul team, second for the rebels. And Wheeler at the line. The left hander from Houston, Texas, free throw in the air. No good Tomorrow fights for the rebound. Tried to save it over the end line on he may have been out of bounds is gonna be old Miss basketball so severe, Mrs. Our first foul shot of the night. Dogs are coming off. There were shooting proof of performance of the season in that loss to South Carolina Wednesday. Far as a percentage is concerned, anyway. 15% on threes. We were 4 26 on shot. Less than 32% for the ballgame. Ole Miss Long, Deep three by barrel won't go Romelo White gets the rebound stretches that arm out finger rolls it in on the put back. He's got four and it's 18 to 14. Now. Georgia by four with the basketball Wheeler works on the left wing near side, it comes to tire tire drives off the right wing spins into the paint falls away from the basketball lost the dribble. All Miss goes to the Florida collected on their knees, and now we reach in and tie it up. On. They'll have rebels have the arrow. Alternating possession goes toe Ole Miss, and we go into a time out 11 31 on the clock half number one Georgia by four. Overall, Miss. It's the dog's 18 rebels 14 on the Bulldogs Sports Network. I love getting prices that are lower than low on food that's fresher than fresh, then Chopper Croker, we give you more ways to save on the fresh you love with.

"In all, everything's out the window and you're going to see the Rams open things up a lot more than they want to. But I'm telling you, a key is to try and find out as well. Not only is he playing to try and find out how Cooper Cup is running, and if he's gonna be able to go tomorrow, he's another guy. That I'm telling you Unless the guy's on crutches he's probably playing. But how effective will he be? All right, That is football. You got it from Russ Baxter. You got it from Andy is go. You got it from Mork. Lauren. She got it from Brad Powers You got from all these guys all week long. So you got a lot of great opinions there. Brad, let everybody know how they can get your place because you've got everything going on Not only the football, but now you're getting heavy into the college hoops. Yeah. You just gotta Brad Powers forced calm and you could check out a lot of free information up there you download past is you see what I'm all about, as far as my my newsletter, But if you want all the pics from the NFL games, and you won't even off season football information, I got it right there. Bad cars. Four seconds. Do a great job. But I will tell you that you nobody works harder in the industry and Brad powers. And there's a reason that he isolates himself. He's not out there partying and hitting the video poker and just partying every night and drinking heavily cause He's a single guy that lives in Vegas. This is a guy that goes back. Down under like the like Grandpa Monster from the From the monsters. He goes down into the dungeon and, you know he goes down there and you don't have all the smoke coming out of the dungeon like you did when Katie was in his dungeon because Brad's not smoking, either, So he's there and he's working hard and he's trust me. If there is trends, he'll look at him, but he did. It's not going to sway his opinion. As far as you know, the Sean McVeigh 37 no at halftime that maybe something that comes into play. We'll wait and see you know and follow Brad, and if you're following him, he will give you place during the day You will get place as the games are going as well. You'll be hooked up on his VIPs list as well. Alright, let's look at some of the college hardwood tomorrow. I went through all those injuries. Ohio State in Illinois. Not sure if Ohio State will have their point guard back, but it didn't hurt him. Last time, Illinois the align I minus 5.5 and disarm you and Kofi, Man, love those two guys in champagne, 1 46.5 your take here. Yeah. I mean, I You brought the point guard, uh, then missed the last two games. Uh, I do worry with it being you know, the third game in a week for Ohio State after playing Rutgers in Northwestern being on the road. Leaning Illinois here from a Katie. I'm leaning there with you, I think along the same lines, I just think the Illinois and Illinois they'll take you off sometimes because you'll be like, what do they do and what are they doing and and they'll be down five or six at home early into the second half and trust me, they'll be that time where the defensive prowess and then they're not a great three point shooting team, but they could knock him down. When they have the right looks, and sometimes it takes him a little bit to get out of their own way. Florida State off the big route at home against Carolina, Carolina, struggling the other night against Syracuse got the cover later. Chapel Hill, Florida State minus 41 45.5. Yeah, I like playing against out liars. And obviously you look at efficiency aspect. I mean, it was one of the most efficient performances in the history of Florida State basketball. I mean, offered 32 point win, I think little bit over price in the market. Therefore, I'm gonna live with that. The Tar Heels here plus the points Right. Move on down. Let's see. How about old Mrs minus eight against Georgia Georgia team that got tattooed pretty good. And Kermit Davis pretty good squad over there at Mississippi, but he's ticked me off. There was a home game that he got drilled in pretty good, uh, inconsistent teams. I both these teams are rather inconsistent. I'd probably go with all this, but I'm not sure I wanna lay eight or 8.5 at home in Oxford. You're gonna do anything with that game. No, I don't. The Mississippi wins, But I know Michael Aid. Pittsburgh's playing pretty much better than I thought they would without sham PAG knee but They're at home. They're going to catch for at home Capel's boys against Syracuse, and even though the cues hung in there with North Carolina, look, the Cues has also been beaten by non power five conference teams this year. It's not a great behind team. I know his kid, but he's on the team, but not a great shooting pitched since Syracuse team I should say Pittsburgh, though. Uh, you're gonna give me four. I want to look at the Panthers at home. Yeah. I mean, pit out and played last 10 days. Last team. They played Wasser keys that they won outright in the carrier dome. And now you know, Chechen points. It only should be confident and circuits had to play two games since that game so on and they're not necessarily of a very deep team, So, yeah, I agree with Kitty Lean Panthers here and I do give respect to that. You beat us in our house. We're gonna beat you at your house until I got thrown by Tulsa. I really ticks me off because I was on Wichita State. I had made money on Wichita State, and then I looked. I'm like, Oh, man, I forgot which Utah one in Tulsa by a point, And not only did I get off Wichita I totally changed and went to Tulsa and Wichita beaten by 19. And we're never never trailed the game at the cook, Carina and I know that place even without fans. Is a great advantage If you're a shooter and my buddy Dave Danino tell you and you know your court. And I'm telling you, the lighting and all that stuff. And remember, there's some of these venues that are bigger, like the Marriott Center BYU That's gonna be a major advantage for BYU. Why? Because the depth perception with no fans in the stands and it's gonna be brutal for some of these teams going in there, So you think it's bad when there's fans in the stands and then at home Court advantage is ruckus, but at least you have a backdrop. Now you don't have in a lot of these venues, pay attention and also pay attention on totals because that could bring in a lot more unders. I mean, move on down here to better myself. Katie. Here you go. Let me bring in some other games. How about Missouri? They've been playing good softball pretty much all season minus 4.5. At Texas A and M and the AG E. Zahra team that Buzz Williams won't let quit in games and they've had some nice comebacks, including a one point road win the other day at Mississippi State. Your take on this one. I don't have a strong take. I think I was the Missouri that deserves to be a short favorite, but not strong opinion. All right now San Diego State. Remember I told you one of the leading scorers is out there back in Logan against Utah State. I'm telling you, Craig Smith's got a squad. He's got players. He lost players, but he's got a squad and this team there were of couple people that I know that said, You know what San Diego State's played his tougher schedule. Utah State. I'm included. Okay, Gran, and that made sense..
