"I've been very fortunate and lucky to do so. Yeah, the I mentioned the 20 straight, have there been a few years where you had to really grind it out, sweat it out to like the last week or two. Man, to say the least, yeah, there was one. There was one year I'd have to look out for three or four years into it. I had not qualified and there's no online. There's no there's no tour point, getting in. Actually, that year they started to get in. I want to say top 5 got in, then the highest, I don't remember how they calculated that, but in the standings. And so I had given up I said, well, it wasn't a big streak at that point, right? Yeah. It was three or four, so I thought that way, whatever. And I remember I looked on Christmas Eve or I guess I can't believe my life let me do this. But I was goofing around and I saw a flight. There was a contest out at del mar. And I saw a flight. Like 50 bucks or something in a hundred bucks. So I asked her if I could go on Christmas Day and for some reason she said. And I went out there and on the last contest in the last race I hit to get enough points to barely get in the top 10% for points and that was enough to give me the last spot. And they got in on points. I mean, that was like the ultimate almost didn't go. And I just can't believe that that all worked out. It was pretty cool. So yes. Another times, but that was you couldn't get any not making it in that time. Well, like you said, the layout of the contest world, not that long ago, it was that there wasn't online things, and you had to go to the tracks, right? I mean, I remember emerald used to host theirs and it was like they had 9 seats, their big guys flown in from all over the country to go play in this tournament and to try to get to the NHC. Now you can obviously do it from your underwear on a Saturday online. And I was one of those people shooting for those 9 spots. Because now you could try every week. You could try to go back then. I was going maybe once every two or three months because maybe Sam Houston had a contest. Or maybe I tried all the every adjacent state fairgrounds and Louisiana down has been the Oakland qualified at zero that's a real hike. Yeah, that was another one. My wife thought I was a little bit one, but Thanksgiving Day and went to a contest that weekend. And yeah, so but yeah, you could only go to which you could physically get to. And so there's only so many impairments you could play when you actually have to show up instead of just turning your computer on. Yeah. I read an article that you had said, you kind of prefer the win place contest live money for the NHC. And I remember talking with someone about that and saying, you know, the I mean, it's called the national handicapping championship, right? So is more handicapping versus betting, which is the breeders cup betting challenge, which is the more live money thing. Do you prefer in general the win place format or is it more, I mean, just for yourself and your style or is it more just for that tournament, you like to keep it in place? No, I like when place formats for the most part, I think for whatever reason, if it fits me, I seem to have more success, but I also I like well let's put it this way. I like any contest that requires people to make a whole bunch of waiters. And a lot of times the live money wants to turn into one or two wagers. And right or wrong, that could be wrong, but I think if straight up in one race, I think somebody can beat me more likely than they can. We had to play a hundred races. So the more races that are involved, the better chance I think I have. And so that's kind of why I like the win place format. It makes everybody play a bunch of races. Instead of even in the live money, where they have minimum wages. You make that you tread water and then you go all in generally on the last race or some race that you're high on, which I get that, that's nice to be able to pressure your opinions, but I just would I mean there's so many people that compress opinions that are something's going to happen crazy and but then again, you see a lot of the same people pop up in those formats as well. So oh, there's a skill to it. Sure. Yeah. I don't mean to say there's not. But just what works better for me. Yeah. No, I mean, I definitely think there's I know a lot of guys who prefer the win place because they have better results than they think he's worse. Yeah. Anyways, well Sam Houston racing, of course, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and then the big days on a Sunday, right? The big day is on a Sunday. There's big days on the Sunday of NHC. I will not be there. I'm kind of bummed out. Miss out on the big day. That's true. So it's not log order. I mean, it's two weeks from this weekend, right? Yeah. Exactly into the month. Coming up. Only Sunday all year. It's been some really nice race in recent years. There's some really nice horses. You do get a lot of low odds, favorites and some of those races. But it's still we've had some it's been pretty neat to be able to say I saw some of those horses run, especially anyway that ran here and then go on. I think they handled like 5 million last year or something or something close to it. It was a big, big day. It's kind of cool because they really have kind of turned that particular weekend into their big day, and it's obviously there's some big tracks running right now, and Sundays as a whole are not big days. You know, everybody shoots for the big Saturday. And so I think it's kind of a neat little spot they've found themselves in. Yeah, Frank, hop over there, does a good job of picking the right days and even within which days are on just like with the Thursday opening day was awesome, right? I mean, and actually it said do you think they were handled over 5? I had just asked because we did over three on a Thursday. And I was like, how close is that to the record? I mean, it's gotta be certainly for an opening day record I would think. And that's when they told me that 5 little over 5 last year. Last year's big day was the record, but still, that was pretty awesome for just like a regular old Thursday afternoon. Early evening card, I was pretty cool. Fun fact, Frank hop from the town next to where I grew up. He's from auburn, Washington, I'm from Kent Washington. We're grew up like 5 miles apart, never knew it. That's pretty funny. That's kind of weird. That's a high density population. I mean, it's suburban Seattle. It actually Don Stevens went to high school deltas and outsource with auburn high school where I think maybe where Frank went to high school. I'm not sure, but I'll have to ask him about that. But yeah, a little racing a little hot bit. Well, because it's where emerald ounces, auburn is where emblems. Maybe that's part of it. Trey, really appreciate you take some time for. So folks want to find you on Twitter. You're at ride that pony. And of course they can catch you on the pre show at the same Houston. Thank you so much. All right, man. No thanks for having me on. Let's go to back to 1999 my fourth birthday. Kent Washington, where I was born and raised now live in Covington. But that was a good day. June 7th is my birthday, and we went to Chuck E. I could think of, because when we were there Had this fear of the chuck e cheese mascot when I was because you know when you're four years old, your love you squirt it so justifiable fear. It's not unattractive Mouse so that it was. It was a funny combination of trauma and excitement on that day being at my birthday go. All right, Frank. I can remember as a very small child. Laying in my bed in the room that I shared with my sister. And, um, having trouble going to sleep and singing and singing into the mattress, and the singing echoed in the in the bed springs, Right, And I remember doing that. I don't know how old I was, I'm sure I was much younger than school age 17. Problems. Way way. Yeah, I remember that doing that. I'd say mine is, in fact, I know specifically what? Minus I was three and I remember very vividly. With my feet on the sort of back little bar on the stroller and holding onto the arms and my little sister in the stroller as we went to pick up my older sister, who was five at kindergarten, So my aunt was watched would watch us. She lived with us for a while. And so she would. She would walk us to several blocks down to Washington grade school and and I would always ride on the back of the store. I'd walk in wonder around, but generally she needed to have me right on the hold onto the back because I wandered off frequently, And so that was more of a disciplinary move. Then it was anything else. All right, round.
