"kenosha" Discussed on Red, Blue, and Brady

"Opinions shared on this podcast along Sully to our guests and house and not necessarily Brady or Brady's affiliates. Please note this podcast contains discussions of violence that some people may find disturbing. It's okay, we find it disturbing too. As I'm sure most of you know by now, the events unfolding in Kenosha Wisconsin are drawing national attention. Essentially, we're living in two Americas, one where intimidation by armed white vigilantes glorified. And we're protesters decrying police violence are vilified. And the other were Black Lives Matter and police violence is gun violence. To talk about what happened in Kenosha and what continues to happen along with what actually is a militia. And what are Wisconsin gun laws? Today I am joined by three fantastic individuals. Now, first, I want to make clear to everyone. This is actually filmed live. I would really recommend that everyone go check out our Brady Facebook page. We end up doing these lives. I would say at this point about once a week. So some of this audio has been edited down for the sake of time and clarity. So for the full uncut version, go check us out by following Brady on Facebook. I want to go ahead and get us started by just introducing some of our phenomenal panelists. I want to start with our Wisconsin expert, anneliese dickman, Anna Lisa, has been a public policy professional for over 25 years focusing on local government issues, important to neighborhoods and families. One of the things that I think is great about annalisa is after the sandy hook massacre, she left her position as the research director of the Midwest oldest think tank and decided to dedicate her skills to reforming gun policy. She joined Brady in 2018 as the program manager for the combating crime des initiative in Milwaukee. Kelly, in addition to her fantastic role as co host on Brady's podcast redwood Brady, she is also senior counsel and director of racial justice at Brady. I think by now we should all know about how fantastic she is..

'Fiery but Mostly Peaceful' Author Julio Rosas on Frontline Journalism

"We have a really good guess with us right now. Fiery but mostly peaceful is the name of the book by Julio rosas and he's doing a wonderful job and again it's called fiery but mostly peaceful one of the best frontline journalists in the country a legitimate journalist unlike the people at The New York Times The Washington Post. Julio, welcome to the Charlie Kirk show. Charlie, thanks for having me. So Julio, tell us about your book. Tell us about kind of being on the front lines and being an actual journalist. And we'll go from there. Yeah, so I mean, I started covering the riots in 2020 when everything popped off in late May. And it initially my thought was, okay, I'm just going to cover Minneapolis and then that'll be it. But then I went to Seattle to cover chaz that whole little experiment that happened in Seattle. I went to Atlanta, Washington D.C. where I'm based out of and it just kept happening. And then it shifted from, oh, so this is going to stop to. What is it going to stop? And it reaches a point to where not only was I obviously seeing the devastation and destruction that BLM and Nancy varieties were bringing to American cities. But then at the other half of it was, well, the media was really downplaying or trying to excuse or trying to justify what was happening because of who was committing the violent acts and it was kind of well the ends justified the means or you're not really you're focusing on the wrong things by focusing on business owners who have their places destroyed. You know, this is what really matters. And for me, it's really, I take really big offense to that because like I said, I was seeing this firsthand and the city after city. And more importantly, people were innocent people who had nothing to do with, for example, a George Floyd or Jacob Blake in Kenosha. They were suffering. These were just ordinary Americans. A lot of them were already struggling with the effects of the COVID-19 lockdowns. And now this was being thrown on top of it, and then the people in power, both within the media class and political class saying, well, it doesn't really

Getting to Know the Real Kyle Rittenhouse

"David and I were talking about the interview I did with Kyle rittenhouse yesterday and we were reflecting about how different the real Kyle rittenhouse is from the Kyle rittenhouse that was you could almost say manufactured by the left. And how different Kyle rittenhouse's story is. From the utterly deceitful narrative that was created around him in the aftermath of BLM and antifa riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It's kind of funny. I was reading Kyle rittenhouse's post on social media. I messaged him and I go, hey, you know, you should come on our podcast. And he agreed to do it. But the woman who kind of handles handles Kyle, you know, basically contacted us and said, hey, listen, you know, Kyle's not that political, so don't ask him about the Ukraine or political issues, because Kyle's just a kid. Which I kind of knew, but I thought it was funny that Kyle has been doing a couple of interviews and some of these hosts have been like, oh, what's your position on the landscape? And when you saw Kyle out there, you realize why that's not the right way to talk to Kyle rittenhouse. This is a kid a very modest kid who's trying to live a normal life. I mean, I was kind of touched by how he said, yeah, I tried to drop out of high school. My mom kind of needed me at home. So sad. You know, it was a lower middle class white kid who is trying to find his way in the world.

How They Did It: Exposing the 2020 Steal in Wisconsin

"70 special counsel gableman, Wisconsin election commission left a trail of victims. There are 92,000 nursing home residents in Wisconsin, and the Zuckerberg 5 cities in all of those counties, those nursing homes, report a voting rate of a 100%, 100% turnout. Welcome to the Soviet Union, play cut 70. These were not academic exercises. These were real world and had real world consequences and left a trail of victims. We've only been able we've been able to interview a number of people. But we got 92,000 residents in continuing care facilities in Wisconsin and in the Zuckerberg 5 cities. We've been able to look at the numbers and the Zuckerberg 5 cities in all of those counties. Those nursing homes reported a voting rate of a 100% anywhere in between 95% and a 100%. He continues in cut 69 saying that Facebook CEOs $8.8 million into Wisconsin Democrat cities was election bribery in violation of the law cut 69. And one of the important truths that has to be mentioned is recited in chapter one of our report, and that is that the center for tech and civic life, $8 million 800,000 Zuckerberg planned grant with the cities of Milwaukee, Madison, Racine, Kenosha, and Green Bay. Facially violates the Wisconsin law prohibiting election bribery. Cut 71 is an example, just one example of many as we theorized of an elderly person who was taken advantage of and had ballots cast in their name in the 2020 election. Now, some of you might say, Charlie, this is not enough to potentially tilt the election. I want to remind you that Wisconsin was decided by just thousands of votes, especially in these key areas. If you subtract the illegally administered

The Importance of Citizen Journalism in the Kyle Rittenhouse Trial

"Elijah talk about the importance of citizen journalism when it came to what happened in Kenosha that one night. Well, the importance is in the fact that all of you guys here have a phone in your hand. And while the media had billions of dollars of funding, they couldn't do what a millennial could do or Gen Z with a phone in their hand. My screen is cracked. I have a fat Italian guy shirtless on the front screen my friend eating chicken strips in Las Vegas, using that phone. That device that communist device or the company that hates us and taking it out there and doing what the media won't do, which is to risk your life because you have to take a risk to get value and you have to just be there because the media will never be in the right place at the right time because they're intentionally not telling the whole story. They're liars, they're sick, they're demented, but you are the truth tellers. And that's why independent media is so important. It's because we're the only ones still willing to tell the truth and that's what it takes.

Kyle Rittenhouse Only Tries to Help People

"Kyle from the first moment I saw you in the news and the video of you defending yourself, you know, I felt like we had something in common. We both grew up in the same neighborhood, you know, kind of a shared story. And you always just wanted to try to help people. That is correct. While growing up, my mom was a single mother working as a CNA at a nursing home helping old people and inspired me to start helping people wanting to go to nursing school, becoming a lifeguard becoming a firefighter EMT cadet and a police explorer. You grew up in Antioch? I did. I grew up in Antioch Illinois. Well, I lived in Lake villa for a couple years. I actually moved around a lot but the last place I was living was Antioch Illinois. Growing up, what did you want to be when you got older? Growing up, I wanted to be a police officer to be able to help people and help people when they're having bad days because cops see people on their worst days. Jack. When so they made this whole big deal during the trial and binger and I call them lunchbox. His sidekick there because he brought him along like a box lunch. They said, oh, well you're not even from Kenosha, you know, you don't even live a Kenosha, you cross state lines, all this business. But it seemed to me when I was hearing you'd speak about it. And then when you took a stand, you talked more about it that it seemed like Kenosha did mean something to you. It did. You had a lot of connection. So what is Kenosha mean to you? Well, Kenosha, my best friend Dominic lives there. My dad lives here. My entire family pretty much lives there. I go grocery shopping in Kenosha and of course they have the best cheese curds in the world as we all know. Tank confirmed. Yeah, I've been there a couple of times since all this. I was there, I guess, two weeks after that happened. So I was there like mid September of last year and then I've gone back a few times just to see it. It's actually a really nice talent. I really liked it. I enjoyed it. I went there with my brother, we had a great time. Oh yeah. It's down to earth people who is just people that are just like wanting to be it's a Midwest. They offered a session with a quote racial trauma specialist. For employees distraught over Kyle rittenhouse being acquitted. "Myself So Bill you know you do the no spin news You've been a no spin guy for a long time that's your trademark right there The rittenhouse case was obviously not no spin or no It was full of spin news It was all spin all the time There were a number of components of the rittenhouse case bill that anyone with an IQ in the triple digits could have figured out where nonsense from the start He was not in fact carrying a short barreled rifle that was illegal that's false He did not cross state lines with a rifle that is false And I don't know why that would be a bad thing anyway His mom did not drop them off in Kenosha today the riots He did have a connection to Kenosha his dad lived there He did not shoot anyone who was black all of the people in the case were white Just the litany of misinformation here I think this promoted you know I sense with the prosecutor they had a case here when they didn't show him there's real world implications to full of spin news The prosecution always knew from the beginning it would lose It was virtue signaling for the state of Wisconsin to bring the case Once a video tape showed that the people rittenhouse shot were threats to him physically the case was over If you read Wisconsin lawn I'm sure you have It's stand your ground state So somebody attacks you and it doesn't matter whether you put yourself in a bad position which rit now certainly did No doubt about that It doesn't matter Sometimes it comes after you and puts a gun in your face that you can shoot them And that's what happened So everybody knew from the very beginning and the legal circles in Wisconsin that this was a loser Yet they spent millions of taxpayers dollars Virtue signaling to the population that rittenhouse was a white supremacist And then the media of course picked that up The kid at 17 was some kind of Heinrich Himmler It was absurd because if you were that would have been all over social media and everybody would have known it But it was not This was an immature boy who did any irresponsible thing by getting into a dangerous situation and I'm glad that no further damage was done to

The Most Insane Leftist Responses to the Rittenhouse Verdict

"Excuse me, the daily wire. Collected, they listed. We're going to post this, Mike online dot com. The most insane leftist responses. To the rittenhouse verdict. President Biden, while the verdict in Kenosha will leave many Americans feeling angry and concerned, myself included, we must acknowledge the jury has spoken. What do you mean you're angry and concert? What are you angry about? What you wanted this kid's head on a platter? Is that what it is? Self defense isn't supposed to be self defense? How about Gavin newsham? This nutcase, governor, America today, he said, you can break the law, carry around weapons built for a military. Shoot and kill people and get away with it. That's the message. We've just sent to armed vigilantes across the nation. You see, newsham, these kooks never condemn the rioters or the looters. No, no, no, no. The guy that had a gun in defect was trying to protect a business and was defending himself. He's the bad guy. Not the pedophile trying to kill him. No, no. He's the good guy. How about governor J B pritzker, of Illinois? This classic. He heard about Newsom evidently instead hold my beer. Pritzker said, carrying a loaded gun into a community 20 miles from your home and shooting unarmed citizens is fundamentally wrong. How about the congressional black caucus? Here was their statement. It is unconscionable our justice system would allow an armed vigilante who traveled to Kenosha Wisconsin and killed Joseph rosenbaum Anthony huber and the wounded gauge grows gross Croix to go free. Colin Kaepernick. He said, well, but I can do you better. We just witnessed a system built on white supremacy validate the terroristic acts of a white supremacist. NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace, ha, let the boy be black, he said, and it would have been life. Hell he would have had his life taken before this BS trial. Sad. House judiciary committee chairman Jerry Nadler. These are not insignificant people. This is a very prominent Democrat. He said, quote, this heartbreaking verdict is a miscarriage of justice and sets a dangerous precedent which justifies federal review by the Department of Justice.

America's Political Left Explodes After Kyle Rittenhouse Acquitted

"A moment. Of course, the other big breaking story that happened after we left you Friday, Kyle rittenhouse found not guilty on all counts. And again, the beast is wounded. If you're a new listener, I call the media, I call academics. I call Hollywood. I call the I call the big media machine, the Democrats. I call them the beast. And sometimes the beast gets injured and the beast houses in protest because the race baders over on MSNBC didn't like the outcome. They had a very predictable response. Here's one of their stars at MSNBC, despicable, despicable response by a woman named Tiffany cross. Ellie, I'm disgusted at what I'm saying. It's not just this trial. It's other trials, but this in particular, the fact that white supremacists roam the halls of Congress freely and celebrate this little murderous white supremacist and the fact that he gets to walk the streets freely, it lets you know these people have access to instituting laws. They represent legislative branch of this country. What are we to make of that? She's given a camera and a microphone and a platform to be on national television, and she spews that kind of bile of just just garbage. That little white supremacist are you kidding me? And it got even worse, consider her guest. Ely miss stall. This happened because this is what the white justice system was designed to do, all right? This is not a miscarriage of justice. This is justice working as intended for white people. And the way you know that is because of the judge. The reason why I was able to predict that was because of the judge. The judge was in the tank from the defendant from the jump. I mean, literally before the trial, he was making motions and making rulings in favor of rittenhouse. He continued that bias throughout the trial. That's without even getting into his maga ring tones without even getting into his off color Asian jokes. Not even getting into all of that, his actual decision making favored the defendant the entire time. By you. I can't even get angry at this anymore. I feel nothing but pity for these pathetic, pathetic people. I honest to goodness. I do. I feel sorry for them. You know, if a jury verdict came down, and the shoe was on the other foot, and it was a black kid. Accused or on trial for shooting white people. Oh my gosh. If anybody on Fox News or newsmax or what America news or the Salem radio network or sale of news channel, dared to say one tenth of what those people say about this white kid in Kenosha, all hell would break loose. Kevin McCullough on the Nuances of Unrest in Kenosha, WI

"Today right now is Kevin McCullough. He's talking about the Kyle whitton written house written house verdict that just came in just about an hour or so ago. And let's continue on with that with Kevin McCallum. Kevin? Well, we were talking before the break a little bit about the dynamic. I think the media really missed on this because when you're talking about police violence in New York or Chicago or Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, LA, you're talking about a very different dynamic than you are in Kenosha Wisconsin. I've been to Kenosha Wisconsin, a bunch of times. It is a college town. You have the big university of Wisconsin there. You have the it is in essence. It is a city technically, but it is in the middle of farmland. And you don't have people just rolling up to go protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin on a regular basis. There's a very different sort of vibe and feel. And when people are saying, why would Kyle rittenhouse who didn't live in the exact neighborhood where this went down? Why would he come over there to do that? Well, in the Midwest, farmers have each other's back in small towns look out for one another, and so forth. And by the same standard, if you had these protesters bust in causing the perpetrated and very intentional chaos that they were trying to create, then why wouldn't people that were from the region also say, well, wait a minute, not in my house. I'm not going to let this go down. So I think the media fundamentally misunderstood the fabric of who they were covering and where it was from, but they also obviously got it quite wrong in that the prosecutors just did not have they didn't have much of a case. When you have one of the victims saying that he pointed a gun at the accused and has to admit that, you know, he had basically threatened him by pointing the gun at him. That's an immediate wash. I'm surprised that the judge didn't almost at that point throw that case out completely just on

"Kenosha. What? Kenosha Warwick Osa was not going to let that happen. And candidly. I agree with a couple of our textures. I hope that that's a model for things as we move forward. Jeff, I think there's a difference between pro testing and harassing. If I protest I'm not shining lights into houses. Yeah, Jeff went is protest and become anarchy. They have been at this for over 130 days. Enough is enough, and officials condemning the Wauwatosa response should be ashamed of themselves. Jeff, I live in wallet Cosa. It was so disturbing to see all the boarded up buildings if the damage that occurred with if the damage that had occurred with all the police presence, what have had would have happened with minimal Police presence. Yeah, absolutely. Jeff. I live one block from where arrests were made due to curfew violations. I live three blocks away from City Hall where other protests occurred during the rest of the weekend. I would like to thank you for giving me this opportunity to say thank you so much to our city leaders and police departments and the National Guard. For doing such an amazing job in keeping us all in Wauwatosa safe. The protesters message has been hurt, and it's time to start marching for many of their unattainable goals. Those changes they're marching for that are attainable. Now need to happen in meetings around a table. Stop the marches stop scaring people in the peaceful community who has seen so much violence occurring around. The country under the guise of peaceful protests. Well, that's it, Jeff, the role is to protect and serve. The people. That is what the police ended up doing. Um, yeah, You know, I just I think you just kind of look at this. And you understand? Believe me, that you're not going to please everybody, and they're some people say, Well, they turned put the current wall with toes into this armed encampment. Well, what they did is they were protecting the citizens of Wauwatosa. They wanted to make sure that the protests did not get out of control. They achieve that and that they're going to be on top of this moving forward, And so That's the bottom line is if people are intent on roaming through the streets late at night, and trying to create disturbances and trying to shine lights in people's houses, and it gets to breaking windows and stuff, you at least know it's not going to be tolerated in Wauwatosa, and I think that's the appropriate message to send. I give him an A, regardless of criticism from the county executive and the county board chairwoman. Both of whom his response to this, I think could charitably be described as both disappointing And as I said, Clueless stick around. Jeff Wagner is right around the.

What did President Trump get yesterday president trump went to Kenosha I don't know if you saw the pictures they were floating around the interwebs. Streets lined with people black white everybody cheering taking pictures, holding flags, thanking President Trump for being there. Because if you suffered a tragedy, the president of the United States comes to your small town. That's a big stinking deal. But what is Reuters right? They tried to get him yesterday What about the shooting Jacob Blank what about Jacob? Jacob Man What about him? And trump dodge ZIP pretty well. But. What what did you? What did you want to do because he was going to be painted negatively no matter what we all know that script you know the the lawyer for Jacob Blake calls at the playbook. All right where's that guy that got shot like fifteen times? Where is he is my guy? But what? What is Joe Biden GonNa. To do in that regard, we're gonNA talk more about. When asked specific questions say about your family, he feels terribly for anybody that is going through this. Is that enough for you. Know not enough. We need people to stand up in office take responsibility of things that happened under your watch is like being the captain of a ship is it goes down you can't say you are responsible. This. Has Gone on under his realm in in being president and we need. Jessica. Sorry. I didn't mean to interrupt. The the connection is going in and out but we are hearing almost everything. You're saying there one thing the president did do today was promised more support and more funding for the police. In Kenosha, what do you think of that approach? Let me tell you where I lose to go, but he needs to go on the African American community so we can have a children can have. A chance to be successful funding should go in education communities like this funding should go to giving businesses an entrepreneur, an opportunity to rebuild and be functional be support of their own community. It happens all over the United States monies are given out to all types of organizations, ages at People's other than African, Americans. I think you can hear me again just and we did lose you for one more second. They're one of the things you said to me a moment ago was that the gloves are going to come off. Now what does that mean? Because your family consistently has said and continues to say that in no way do you WanNa see any violence on the streets and Kenosha? Peaceful marches in Kenosha, Wisconsin, against the police shooting of a black man gave way to fires and destruction. Oh, did they? They gave way today. Just magically. They gave way. "Text line let's talk to Jeff in Kenosha Jeff your first hello hi good afternoon how you doing when you think about all this hello my concern was I mean I think you had a collar on it the other day about some of the small towns that you know some older people live and and they're concerned that people from all walks here Illinois gonna come up in their cabins and you know use their stores and okay are you going to wait for the help break in these little towns around that would probably kill somebody told people that live there and I'm wondering if they would ever be allowed to come up your cabins the summer heat for many one of the town yeah thanks to call yeah I mean that that that's the question is how how long do you do this as a matter of fact I mean people can still still do that now I mean they they discourage you from it but I mean if if I had a place up in door county and I wanted to go up there tomorrow they're not going to arrest me I mean so there's always that risk that is is out there which is why I see I just it's frustrating me that we don't trust people now I mean I think most people don't want to do the right thing most people as I was saying or are going to practice the social distancing they're going to you know avoid being around crowds and I will tell you that in other areas where there were concerns if you let people migrate from one place to another you're going to have huge operative X. destroyed after the Wall Street journal The New York Times the couple days ago looking at some of the snowbirds from Florida who have have had decided to leave Florida and and go back to you know they're the communities where they came from because they wanted to be closer to home and and they're not seeing that this is bringing any sort of noticeable like increase in infections into those areas we want to be smart to me don't don't get me wrong I I understand we want to be smart we want to continue to practice this I just think that you have to be smart and saying we're where is the problem and how do you justify putting restrictions that have real world implications for people that's why I started the segment by saying for me it's an inconvenience okay so I I can't get my hair cut out I can live with that I can live with that but for me it's an inconvenience but for all sorts of people who live paycheck to paycheck whose jobs have been just taken away I think those folks have every right to say wait a second we you where I live there there's no reported instances of this there's not a curve there's not a speed bump there there's nothing to flatten I want to go back to work and if it turns out that all of a sudden we we sort of have an outbreak okay fine we we can deal with that on the chance that it might occur but there's probably just as good a chance that it's not going to occur in any sort of significant way because it happened in the past all right we're going to get a lot of great calls online if you're on the line please hold on we're gonna continue this conversation just a couple minutes I'm I I understand that this desire that we want to be safe I get what the governor is trying to do but it doesn't seem to me that there's any consideration of what the effects of this is in no balancing it's going on back with more calls in just a moment this is Jeff Wagner stay tuned Jeff Wagner.
