"Your deck with the perfect accessory. It's available at Wayfair dot com, Home Depot dot com, Amazon, or shade mount dot com that's shade mount dot com, and it's a fan. I've seen it. It's a fantastic product and a really useful on your back decks in the summertime. Day Freeman is with me is my special guest co host Dave a few minutes before we have to get to our number two, which begins with trainer Kenny mcpeek, he is getting ready to send out creative minister in the Preakness later today. What do you think of that horse? Do you give him a bit of a chance in this spot? I think he's a little bit of a wild card, right? He's only run three times each race has been better than the next. I don't think any of his previous races are good enough to win, but if he chose the improvement that we have seen, race after race after race, if he gets a little bit better, he could be very, very interesting at a nice price. We have seen horses with prices hit the board at the Preakness routinely year after year, I think we had a high priced winner last year with rom Bauer. I think we had Jesus team hit the hit the board at a pretty big price. A couple of years ago, there was an enormous show price, three or four years ago. This is a race that we tend to get a number somewhere and creative ministers, a horse that I'm interested in. I think creative minister has to get better to win. I think that's possible. I'll be interested to hear what Kenny mcpeek has to say about wheeling back in just two weeks. They ran on the Derby under a card and ran very, very well and won, why not be a little bit more patient? They must think that this horse is ready for a huge effort today. Yeah, he's probably sitting on a big race. I would imagine. And Kenny wouldn't be here if he wasn't. So we'll get a chance to talk to him coming up in just about three or four minutes from right now. Before we segue into that second hour, I want to I have a special announcement here on the show this morning. It's the first time I've been able to announce that I know Bobby talked about it with you yesterday on race day. I'm really excited to announce that starting next Friday, listeners can spend every single Friday afternoon betting with our very own Bobby Newman on the all new bedding with Bobby show presented by Caesar's race book. You're still going to hear the live race calls that you become accustomed to during race day, but in addition, Bobby is going to be joined by a special guest to talk about different things, like betting strategies, multi race wagers, future bets, and so much more. You might even have the chance to be part of the show yourself and talk with some of the top handicappers in the sport. It is our newest show here on the horse racing radio network. It is betting with Bobby.

"Mine that bird, he ran forth in the sunland Derby. And giacomo finished fourth in his prior race before The Kentucky Derby. So I mean, that's probably the sentiment you're going to have if classic causeway comes up and wins June. I have to use him now. I have to put him on my ticket somewhere because I've been beating that drum all spraying. And then that clunker in Florida, I still have to I still have to throw him in there somewhere. I'm never going to try to talk people off long shots. I just deciding not to use him myself. Speaking of long shots, tis the bomb is a horse I think can make some noise. If you're looking for a trifecta horse, a super effective horse, I just have this sneaky feeling about tis the bomb. He's a tough read because even his trainer Kenny mcpeek says he's best on turf. When's the last time a horse that everyone knows is best on a different surface wins The Kentucky Derby. Yeah, it's been great on turf. He's been great on synthetic. He hasn't been great on conventional dirt yet. But his speed figures say that he would have a chance. Yeah, he broke his maiden on conventional dirt at Ellis park by 14 lengths. It was just by the way. There's no such thing as conventional dirt. It's just dirt. It's dirt. Not synthetic dirt. Yeah. We broke his maiden on dirt by 14 lengths at Ellis park last year. So he handled that, although it was an off the turf race, the competition, not what he's going to face on Saturday, certainly, but yeah, I just had this sneaky feeling about being a long shot for the tries in the supers. And how do you know speed figure wise like from synthetic turf to dirt? I mean, you don't. How do they correlate? We've seen horses like animal kingdom. Come off those races and surprise everybody in The Kentucky Derby. Maybe this is the next animal kingdom. It could be. I mentioned why the barrio and his trainer saffy Joseph junior, the native of Barbados, who is going to be with us on this program tomorrow, white a barrio is four for 5 lifetime, his only time he did not win was here at Churchill downs last November that was in the Kentucky jockey club when he finished third behind smile happy and classic causeway. So we'll see how that plays out for him. Hopefully he handles it better on Saturday and he did that day. That's roundly considered the best of the two year old races we saw last year. Even better than the breeders cut juvenile because all of those horses got tremendous speed figures and they all came back and have done at least something as three year old smile happy classic causeway white a barrio. So it's a wide open Wayne Lucas was saying what a wide open at oaks. This is here. It's a.

"And. Jails in a wind tunnel and I think that and I think that zandy right now is I know that past derbies aren't won by the horses with his style, but I just think that this horse has plenty of upside and he's going to be on the top of a lot of my tickets. Dale are you buying him or selling him? No, I'm buying him. He's a good horse trained by a great horse trainer and he was super impressed with the bluegrass. And I'd love to see a winner come out of the bluegrass. You got to figure in this wide open field. He's a major contender. All right, I'll stay with you for the next horse then. How about the bluegrass runner up, smile happy? Buying him or selling him. I love smile happy, but I'm selling. I don't think he can get the distance. I think he's been around past a couple of times by horses and when he stretched out more than a mile and a quarter. We got 20 horse field. I like the horse. I think you'll do some great things down the road, but I'm selling. Timmy? You know, this was a hard sell for me. You know, Kenny mcpeek has been so high on this course since the since he got him. And you know, but he's had this first start this year, there isn't star. He couldn't he couldn't to catch epicenter. Granted, that was his first start in three months. But then in the second start, he couldn't hold off sand on. So, you know, and Kenny was going into that race. He said something to the effect of you better have a bear to run against me if you want to beat me. And then afterwards, he said to the fact where he likes where he's at and that you can see the horse will be peak performance and the first Saturday in May, which he very well made. But I don't see it on the win end. He does a very, very nice horse. But I'm selling. All right, what about the Santa Anita Derby runner up messier buying or selling? I'll take this one first again. I think he might become my top pick. I think that he's got all the credentials going into the Derby and I think that even though he got beat, it wasn't his taxing or race on him. It could be straightened out ready to roll first Saturday in May. He was on everybody's short list. When he. Rolled to win the bob Lewis by 15 lengths, and you know, you got a party going on there and what? Out of trying to keep trying to spot a quiet and I keep moving from one of his not working out. But anyway, that's the, you know, he dominated in that race, the Lewis, and in the San Anita Derby, he got run down by taba. Stablemate was in his second start, messier is going to be a horse that's going to be prominent early in this race. There's no doubt about that. Whether or not he sticks around till the end, I don't know. I'm selling on him, even though I do respect and fear his speed. All right, that was fun. I'm going to pick three more horses next Saturday and then the following Saturday as well. And we'll see if you guys are still on them or maybe starting to think about selling on those forces as we get closer to the first Saturday in May. All right, topic number three, later today, keenland is going to host the final Derby points race. That's the Lexington stakes, which has produced 37 Kentucky Derby starters and two winners. We talked about those earlier, swale, and charismatic the only two horses that come from the Lexington and win the Derby. We could see a Derby starter or two emerge from this year's race, but guys should handicappers take courses coming out of this year's Lexington seriously, or should they simply cross them off and move on. Dale, you went at first. Yeah, I think this is such a wide open year. And I keep saying that, and I don't think this is a bunch of bad horses. I think there's a bunch of good horses. So whoever wins the election, I think, has to be considered a contender. I haven't seen many horses that I think are complete tosses. And I think a horse that runs big Alexa this year could come back and run very well in the derbies. Tim, what do you think? Dale, if a horse comes out of Lexington and wins the Derby, I'll wash your car every day at Saratoga. Okay, yeah. I like that. I like that because I think like we said earlier, I don't know where to Derby winners going to come from this year has been so different in my opinion. I think there's so many nice horses out there and there might be. I think there's some yeah, there are some nice forces in the Lexington, but I think there are definitely a cut below of the contenders that we've seen. And there's horses in here that obviously they need some points to get into the race. I mean, Brad's horse, Tony point, I believe he should be in already, but D Wayne's coming back on a week's rest with ethanol, E thorough road to get some points, call me midnight, major general, dash attack. I mean, damn, you gotta Halloween times in that race. Are you even looking towards the Derby with him? He wouldn't have enough points. Woody? If he wins, then they let me in. I'll be there. And he's doing very well. He's going to run a big race today. Because it's only 20 points to the winner, right? Yeah, but I don't get it might get down to 20. Yeah. Well, yeah, you don't know what the defections will be, but yeah, I think there's some nice horses in that race, but. Color me, the guy that says zero chance the winner of the Derby comes out of this race. How great would it be of howling time is the reason that Tim has to wash your car every single day at Saratoga? Wouldn't that be nice? And I believe I'll have that car muddy every day. Well, I know you would. But we're going to just beat dust in it off, too, I mean, I drive out fo I go find a place off road. Well, I think that I'm going to hold off on bringing my hose up there because I don't think I'm going to have to do it. Does that include vacuuming too? He has to vacuum it too, right? No vacuuming. It's just a splash of water on the windshield and off we go. All right, topic four before we get to our final segment, the winner of the week, claiming foul segment that we do every single week here on the program. All right, for Erie announced that they have hired a new announcer for their upcoming meat. That's a gentleman by the name of Doug McPherson. And that got me to thinking about some of the.

"Feeling a test from Harlan's holiday, they've been in this position before and they're at it again. Straight Jenna's third coming to the 8th bowl. Harlow's holiday works his way to a narrow lead final burlock of the toy on the bluegrass. Harlan's holiday has the advantage clear from Brooklyn. He opens up by two and a half further back straight Jan and a zillion running late, but it's too late to catch Harlan's holiday. He will take the 78th running of the Toyota bluegrass stakes by a convincing margin in one minute, 51 and two 5th seconds. Welcome back to the equine forum, I'll present it by twin spires on this Saturday morning in every Saturday morning throughout the year. Mike Pence Barron in the backstretch with you on what is a super Saturday a thoroughbred racing coast to coast. You just heard Kurt Becker with the call of the 2002 bluegrass stakes. Harlan's holiday, a winner under Edgar Prado for trainer Kenny mcpeek. And Kenny is back again today and looking to add to his resume with a couple of really good opportunities to take down the bluegrass yet again and I'm joined now by keenly vice president of racing gatewood bell who is going to take a look not only at this weekend. We'll look back at yesterday. We'll look ahead to the rest of the meat. Gatewood, good morning, my friend, happy bluegrass day. I was going Barron. Thank you. To you too, bud. Are you staying warm? Ew, I am now that I just ran into my office to have a chat with you. A little, it's a little raw out there. Oh, it was a little ominous, but it can't be any crazier than it was yesterday, so. Welcome to springtime in Kentucky. We've seen snow on bluegrass day before, so that wouldn't be a shocker, but nobody likes to see this. Yeah, we had all four seasons in one post parade yesterday, I think. Yeah, well, you know, it's not going to dampen the spirits of the folks who are going to come out. Look, racing fans are a hearty group, right? And nothing is going to be them away from bluegrass stakes day at keeneland. That's for sure. Sure. This card, you could run this card on the moon today, I think, and people would be excited about trying to go watch it. It is loaded. It's an 11 race card. You have the 5 greatest stakes, including that grade one, Toyota bluegrass, which is at 5 ten Eastern Time. It goes as race number 9. Let's start by looking back on what happened yesterday. The great one Ashland was the feature race of the day, but that was the card that included three stakes to kick off opening day of the spring meet. We saw a nest the daughter of hill and Dale stallion kerlin for Todd pletcher get the victory and that one. Fill me in. Your thoughts on what happened out there yesterday. Well, yeah, it was bizarre day with the weather. We had a lot of fans here. The racing was still great. We were able to keep the races on the grass somehow. The track was Jim and Alfredo did a great job keeping the track surfaces safe and fair all day. I thought, and then yes, the real stars were the horses, which is what you always want people to be talking about. Nest performance was just, yes, it was incredible. I mean, higher ad was riding with a lot of confidence when in the last three and he made that big four wide move. I know it's into the early wire, but she was ten links the best. It looked like and that was a nice field. I mean, she'll have a big chance of four weeks and Louisville. So great connections. That was a really happy director's room celebration. And then it was a great race. I mean, a smaller field with a Transylvania, but fantastic race. Again, higher ad with an incredible ride, grand motion, undefeated colt for Saul cumin. And then that Lafayette was just wide open. It was loaded obviously 12 horses and it was really cool brinkman brought that brought that guy up from Delta downs off two daylight victories and really tested them for class and man. He ran away from him. So it was really exciting getting mister brinkman a big win. They were fired up fun in the director's room there too. And the betters here, you know, the fans, they really supported the signal and Ben Huffman and his crew and all the trainers that are stabled here right now put together awesome overnight and we can't take credit for any of that. That's just the owners and the trainers entering up here and wanting to win at keeneland and sticking sticking with it through some tough weather conditions. And then it was that incident and I think it was the 5th race where that was just an unfortunate air and sometimes that happens and we're going to look at that and how we could have handled it better. I was I thought we handled it well, but you can always improve. So we're going to go back and review that, but it was just it was just an error from the tote company that it got placed in wrong and then it wasn't corrected as quickly as we would hope, but mistakes happen and we'll learn from them and try and put more safety so it doesn't happen again more I don't even know what you call protocols that doesn't happen again. But it was just a mistake and those.

"The horse racing radio network, big stopper with the call of the honey bee, the Philly secret oath, another dominating performance. It's one that earned her a spot in the Arkansas Derby, a chance to run against the boys and maybe punch her ticket to The Kentucky Derby if her connections decide to go that direction. It's exciting. It's a great time of year. The NCAA tournament isn't full swing. There are teams, long shots, lower seats, higher seats coming from all different regions of the country. They're all working toward the final four. I guess horse racing is kind of in the same position with horses emerging from different regions of the country. Of course, that one Arkansas would secret oath. You also have Florida. You have Louisiana. You have New York. You have California. Horses are emerging from everywhere and stars are emerging. And nobody knows that better than Marty McGee from the daily racing form. He is with me now, Dave grennan going to be with me at 9 o'clock to talk about the New York courses, but right now Marty will take a look at Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana. Marty, good morning. Good morning, Mike, how are you this morning? Doing very well, my friend, and I should mention too that this interview presented by our friends at jellyfish water. We'll get to secret oath. We'll get to Arkansas, but let's start with the race that you had a chance to attend last week. And that was the Tampa Bay Derby. Really, really impressive win down there for classic causeway. I thought it was Mike. And the fact that it came back in 85, excuse me, an 84 prior speed figure kind of through everybody for a loop, including the trainer of classic causeway Brian lynch. He said to his eyes, he thought visually he ran like a 110 buyers. So the way that classic causeway dominated the race was very much like the way he had done it four weeks beforehand when I was down there for the Sam Davis. And it's pretty clear that once classic caused what comes to the bluegrass of that will be the litmus test because it looks like smile happy and zan Don and some of the other major contenders for The Kentucky Derby are going to be in the bluegrass April 9th it came and be there, Mike. Yeah, I will definitely be there. I'm not going to miss that one. I have been a classic causeway fan for much of this year. I love the way that he won the CMF Davis and to kind of solidify that form with that win in the Tampa Bay Derby. I thought it was justification for the talent that this horse had showed even as a two year old. Urich Gulfstream park now, Marty, so you're getting a look at all the horses down there in Florida, all the Derby contenders is classic causeway, the best horse in Florida right now. Oh gosh. Well, I've been here since the day after Christmas and it's always interesting to per view the Derby evolution, so to speak, how they all kind of develop. You've got Todd pleasure up there at Palm Beach towns and del Rey, where he's got four or 5 legit contenders for the Derby. You've got Kenny mcpeek down here with, well, he had four of them to start with with dash attack and tis the bomb because the bomb of course went up to turfway. And we'll run into Jeff ruby on April 2nd, but his two legit intenders are rattle and roll. Who is going to wheel back 3D weeks from the march 5000 into the Louisiana Derby, which I found kind of interesting and wrote about earlier this week. And then smile happy Kenny is on the record as saying bluegrass or Florida Derby, Florida Derby's here on April 2nd and that's already mentioned in April dying at keenland. I think that he's leaning towards the bluegrass, so we've got the winner of the very roughly run and found of youth simplification who, by the way, worked through this morning for trainer and Tony will say no, who we all know from can have from 5 years killing the therapy. So he looks like he will be one of the favorites along with the end of time in the second with you. And also wide a barrio who skipped the youth after having won the holy bowl February 5th down here. So as always, Mike, as you mentioned, there's low C tie seeds and everything in between. We got all kinds of countries being heard from down here in Florida. So it sounds to me like classic causeway has work to do to be considered the best horse in Florida because there's a lot of good ones. Well, as you know, J preven and I do a Derby watch every week and this Friday we have smile happy as the second one favorite and then there's literally a handful of forces who are 8 or ten to one that's being classic causeway epicenter star and the likely favorite for the Derby forbidden kingdom who we all have our own somewhat skeptical as to what kind of distance he's going to be able to get he was an easy way of sampling today. Simplification is in that group and then zan donn, whose Chad brand it pays instead of running him back in the Florida Derby or the Louisiana Derby. He's waiting for the bluegrass with him. Yeah, you basically got to have dozen up right there together. I am on that Derby watch page as we speak and I'm going through the rankings as you're walking through each and every horse and it's a fantastic page. There's a lot of great information on there. All you have to do is go to dot com slash Derby watch or just search for Derby watch on the daily racing form, it'll take you right to that page. You mentioned epicenter and the likely favorite in the Arkansas Derby. Going to face off with the Philly, who is going to get a lot of attention,.

"Can't bounce back with a much better effort and win the iowa oaks. I'll come back with army wife. Who like i said. I really liked her effort. In the black-eyed susan. She was a ways behind search results in the gazelle or at the big a another philly You know she started her on the turf from. She's just a better dirt horse despite being by declaration of war filling beat her Earlier on in her dirk races In fact her last race is a two year old. The church show those little interesting. Olivia the debt of the desert. Who won the local panthers. She was seconded pimco and then panthers boy. Kenny mcpeek as he showed last year which was sky this three year old daughter. Bernardini's run eleven times. Already she's wanted ellis kentucky downs keeneland churchill remington park oaklawn turf park pimlico and prairie meadows in her eleven races. The only duplicate so far have been at ellis park and churchill downs. You're in seven times as a two year old last year and you know what her dirt races are pretty good She could use a little pace. Shoud be alternative me. So i'll go with a little Little army wife over olivia of the desert. Re seven tonight goes as the great three iowa oaks knicks go try to rebound from his odds on defeat in the grade one mile and belmont stakes day. Less than four weeks ago by going nine furlongs. In the great three pre meadows corn husker handicap race. To for years was run across the border at exorbitant nebraska. Field of seven sign on here next goes even money. Favourite for brad cox. Joel rosario in the pilot from post five. I gotta say something about brad cox. It's very refreshing compared to most other big name trainers out there. This is the second time where he's had a horse coming off a subpar performance that he just makes no bones about it he says. I have no idea what happened. I don't know why he ran so poorly we. It's not trying to adjust anything and it was the same thing with mandolin. Before going to the kentucky derby he was befuddled by why mandolin ran so poorly in his race before the kentucky derby and he said you know he's doing well. Maybe that was just an anomaly. We're gonna run a back and obviously mandolin van. Very well in the kentucky derby nikko. Maybe he needed a race coming in from that race in Saudi arabia where he was defeated by mishrif and charlatan He was disappointing to say. The least after making the lead in the met mile the met mile field much tougher than what he sees in the corn. Husker tonight big question is what number. Four last judgment is going to do. Because he's got a got a lot of speed and these drawn inside of next. Go which i think is bad for last judgment because i don't think he's faster than nikko. And if he's duke it out hadn't had. I think nikko was the one who keeps going if he lets knicks. Go go then. It probably spells doom for everyone in the race. So how hard will jose ortiz to us. Last judgement to get to the lead and not be bothered by knicks go. I'm not really sure it's possible. I'm gonna give knicks. Go one more chance the racist. He ran at the end of last year. Beginning of this year. Not only would beat this field. It'd beat this field by five lengths I don't know if he's got that in again. But i trust in brad cox. I trust and joel rosario. And i like the fact he's drawn outside last judgement. I'd actually try to get last judgment off the ticket and probably play exact as five three and five seven using tenfold and modernised underneath. So i like. I think who's a little bit of a goofball i like tenfold tonight and i'm gonna tell you why i think. I think there's a chance that there's gonna be a pace in this race. I don't think is going to let them go. I think next goes gotta go. And i'm gonna give you a real goofy one. This is really goofy. I'm not so sure the horse on the inside isn't going to try and force the issue either drifting west now maybe a wolf delacruz tries to take him off the pace and and make one run with them and sit behind a pace. I don't know he's he's he's fast. He does his best running on or close to the leaf. And i know he's a little bit of a of a long wall but between the rail draw and you gotta remember this. There's a pretty good run to that. I turn apparent meadows. These horses can put some pace on. I like tenfold tenfold. Never gets a pace. He never gets base. We go back to three years ago when he got a piece of the preakness he came flying when he gets paces he comes running when he gets an abundance of round. He comes running now. he's not going to get. The abundance of round in here is only getting a mile in eighth right. But he's not going on mile eighth at charlestown around three turns. You know he's going to go a mile and an eighth and he's going to get some paster on it. And i think tenfold is going to be dangerous than i. I'll make an exact the box. Three five three seven. Because i respect nikko and modernised may be the horse that works out the best trip india but i got a funny feeling. They're gonna hit. I think tenfold has more of a kick than modernist doesn't think monitors as more of a grinder whereas a fast pace. You would say well. A fast paced will help him a fast paced. Might hurt him. He may not have enough of a turn of foot like tenfold those to come running. I'm gonna try tenfold upset the applecart tonight race. Number eight goes as the prairie meadows corn. Husker the grade three for three hundred thousand right. Friday actions in the book will turn the page after the break will start talking about the saturday action. We'll kick it off at beautiful belmont park. One of my favorite horses and training via dera set the return in the perfect sting. You're listening to the weekend. "I don't know that rock your world is gonna go as hard as he did in the derby that he went in the santa anita derby because of where he was drawn he had to go down there We're talking horses. You have good sprint. Speed versus route speed. So there's just there's still a lot of other things to two way here As to what goes on with concert tour but but you know my take away from the race the other day was at as of right now going a mile nathan beyond if he has to go to fast that he he can't handle it as of today i don't but if he gets to go slower next time or maybe three months from now might be able to handle it better but that that would be my away from the radio. Today you know invincible agree to a and what was to me. What was what was so surprising about it was that it felt on the backstretch watching the way they were. They were going that that that he was comfortable rating that way and when he did when he and rosario went forward going into the turn it kind of felt like he was taking him there on his own without even any encouragement so i thought oh he's you know he's but then then when they straightened up it became evident really quickly that you know the two of them were going to. We're going to be overhauled So that that's why we put them in the gate as as they say We'll circle back j to and go through the perspective Field and and your your reporting and you're a contact with with. A lot of the principles will do that in the second. Let's talk about the lexington result where You know proxy all eyes on him to see if he could possibly run a a race and propelled him into the derby. We got that answer. Pretty quick and Kenny mcpeek polls kind of the rabbit out of that with the king. Fury fury was You know you were just referencing. He'd had a pretty ambitious campaign last year. They crammed a lot of racism to him in a short amount of time towards the end and then they gave him time off and he's obviously just a better horse now for.

And i think he's one small stake here their sense but But this is a lot better. this is another. This is a lot better. Horse and senior investment was going into the lexington years ago and i said to mr van and you need to watch today because we can win this race again and if he does it's gonna maybe take the bigger better things and Chris it off and eighteen ones was around. I loved it a new. A new stake winner for colon And actually. Now he won now. He won the new We can call it a new great at stake winner because because the street sense she has street. Cents is is listed Going back to last year but now a stake winner at at two and three and plenty plenty ahead For king fury. Coming out of this kenny. Let's talk a couple of other Stay on the weekend for a minute before we dial back toward crazy. Beautiful 's oaks win and you had the had that fighting cb win. I want to mention that and Came close with front street in the maiden race As well i ran into obviously a what looks to be a f- a major a major horse When it comes to The the justifying sibling. But it doesn't look like that one doesn't look like Front street will be made law. She's good solid philly. Yeah she was getting into the of being you get to. We've had to gear down a little bit About robbie road really well that day. Because she's she's wanting to go to the front and then quit which is a really bad habit for me to to watch and we're we're Trying to get her so she'd rates a little bit and and Get a better habit of sitting behind horses and then making a run. And i do think she wants to run longer this so She still got a bright future. She good solid silly. Peter galley and greg backer partners on her well and i mentioned the runaway winner. But it was. It was the friday runaway winner. Not saturday was The motte caramel. Swirl that was the resounding witter upfront. I had a front street. Exactly kenny. Let's slip in really the only probably the only frustration disappointment in the last couple of weeks Going back to the ashland last week and simply ravishing explain to everybody what transpired. well She she developed a breathing problem over the winter and You know it's not something that we felt something we can't fix in the short run We're not going to try to force that and didn't wanna get into any surgeries along layoffs and we decided to retire It's unfortunate and i think she's a freaky talented philly You know she's legua. She's perfectly sound but she's not going to be able to compete at one hundred percent at the highest level and she's already won a grade one so we done our job in that sense we only gave fifty grand forks a yearling and her kalemie and i say this i wouldn't. I nominated the derby. Did i did the derby. Nam and Because i thought i could win another preakness quarter I'll be honest. She could look she can looking very in the any.

"Here we are. it's the twelfth. And we've got now less than three weeks to derby and oaks and all your points have been met it out and now there's just some decisions to be made in terms of who stays who goes. Who participates who waits maybe for preakness opportunity. And we'll go over this morning. Jay primm and actually early At that early our to jay's gonna visit we'll do the prep season wrapup on derby watch with jay and the watch now is on some orces like sainthood who appears to be from. All indication appears to be ready to participate for todd. Pletcher and windstar and ron bauer. Who seems to be more interested right now. In preakness so some of the horses down at the bottom of the list after two upsets one that instantly impacted the derby pecking order that with super stocks. Win the arkansas derby and one that becomes potentially impactful when we talk about king fury. Kenny mcpeek actually will join us. And i'm actually glad kenny was Was tied up. What two weeks ago after The crazy beautiful win. So i'm actually kind of glad the way it turned out that he couldn't join us then. And there's a bunch of things we can talk about with. Kenny including simply ravishing. Who is as we mentioned. The other day was retired after the ashland. Try but king fury's upset in the lexington. A quick twenty puts him at about twenty third on the list. And and you got the sense listening to candidate. They would certainly participate. If you know the the marginal line of of derby participation drops down the that far and of course superstock jumps in with one. Hundred points had nine going in so that puts him third the total list. And i'll give you a quick rundown essential quality of course going to be your derby favourite hot rod. Charlie sat and of course they'll be some decision making on the part. Joel rosario and ron anderson over the weekend results he would thought that if concert tour performed to certainly to the way he was bet An expectation that that might have been the the lean now. It's hard to believe they wouldn't give serious consideration. Dodd charlie but in ron's going to let the chips fall is plenty. Things happen here in the in the next ten to fourteen days. Superstock the amazing stories. Steve us the anderson steve. Asmussen will join us after kenny in this hour. And it's a wonderful family story with superstock. Who was really cleverly written by ricardo santana junior basically let that speed duel on. Fold front caddo river and concert tour. Know we talked about this and you know it's funny because it looked like cattle river was the one that was was under pressure and that concert tour was was rating comfortably. It looked like on the backstretch and then when they turned for home. You could see that they were gonna get swallowed up. The the way superstock kicked off the rail and ran them down easily and kettle rivers state on well enough to rest the placement away from concert tour so anyway. The decision making process will unfold Like the king and like the king hasn't gotten much conversation. We talked to wesley ward the other day last week but like the king working on turf i get the sense that there's maybe a decision pending with him even so we'll see known agenda. Of course all set pletcher in a rat rock your world set bourbon. Pletcher karsh sat medina spirit baffert johnny concert tour. He's got plenty of points sitting comfortably but going to have to regroup vafa called it a kind of a head scratcher. Is it a issue. I mean certainly you would think fitness wise. I it's a rarity. I not too often. The the baffert horses is going to go to an assignment. Like that and be you know under fit so that's got to be figured out a way. Burn of course heading for the belmont so he's tenth in points but cross him out midnight. Bourbon will get an update. He's kind of out of sight out of mind but the night bourbon. He's your tenth on the on the list. You know with me kind of keeping the the people leather the points under consideration but Even though they're taking a slot on the official leaderboard we know they're not running in terms of the mandolin. Talk the other day to brad cox seems like he's he's participating cattle river out of this the initial reaction from brad cox was preakness for him. So even though he's sitting what would be thirteenth probably not participating highly motivated. All set for chad helium. All set course off the tampa win. Panadol would be next fourteenth on my list and there's a decision pending this week. Having kirstein told me over the weekend that panadol not guaranteed to come there the initial reaction out of the uae. Derby performance was that he would for shadwell. But they'll make a decision this week soup and sandwich all sat and tyler kathleen got mount over the weekend for mrs weber. Marquette worked very nicely the other morning to what was that saturday morning soup and sandwich. i've got him. His fifty dynamic one sixteenth. Set for pletcher. I guess jose ortiz Sainthood i i i mean personally. I would think that you would take your time with him. But if the b.'s. What is third third career. Four th career start is a lot of those types of.

Concert tour basically. I joel rosario. To me was a big part of the difference because he he quarterhorse that out with concert tour in the rebel pan giroux kind of eased off and that may have been all. It took so concert tour. Moderate takes a eventually. I think paired up to say a percent the win with a ninety four buyer. It's going to have to have to keep a going to have to keep going hosur. Actually the other baffert that he told you about last week was going hosur got second but frankly he got. He got lucky to be second. Let's let's be frank. big lake. Caddo river was stopping in front of big lake and a cost big lake. Second so i. It seems to me that this was a race that we sort of had a certain at this patient for this.
