Here's a little absolutely fabulous. Of the Zahra lotions, potions, Things places people monuments, etcetera that we love and we want to share with you. It's our version of Oprah's favorite things, but we call it absolutely fabulous. Eso. Today's AB Fab is a classic Twin Cities restaurant. We could also put it in the category of Still getting her done. Still getting her done because it's it's easy for food writers and of foodies to focus on shiny metal. You know the new the new restaurant or You know, Gavin Cason gets new paper towels. You know, it's a It's easy to write about that. But the restaurants that year in and year out still still do great work. That's what this is today. I'm naming Chow Bella Bella. Any Dina? Absolutely fabulous. On DH. "And it goes back to Michael Jordan saying. Guess what Republicans by shoes, too? So the smartest thing to do for any business would just say We're not dealing in that. We're not giving opinions. And we'd prefer if we didn't see yours no matter where they lie while you're working, and I realized that some people's belief You are so strong. They want to share them while they're working. But as far as a successful business being successful, I think you've just gotta wash all that away and do that on your own time when we knew that Chick fil A was a Christian company, closing on Sundays to give their employees the day off to spend at church or with their families. Nobody really made us. Think about it, even if you're an atheist, because they made a good chicken sandwich. It's when their founder went so far and above and beyond, to donate to anti gay groups that they ran into a little hot water. If you never found that out, you'd still feel damn good about guzzling down the chick fil A's a sauce Or maybe you still do and there long and their lives were still longer than ever. So I don't know what that is what I do, and they get through it like that. They really do. The chick fil A. Should Hold a conference for all other fast food places ever first every drive through. We should have to go through Chick fil a Training program alive. Who are you? Going after Kenny Kenny, What's up, man? I'm not much, sir. I hope everybody's seen Welcher. Um, I'm just wondering if maybe the cancel culture has been weaponized by both sides. Where false information could be put out on then all of a sudden it blows up and everybody decides. You know, just this is how we're going to go with it. This is where we're going, but more than likely are more The reality is the fact that People that are some supporters are just sick and tired of everybody for 4.5 for years now, 3.5 years running every single thing that could possibly go wrong. By the president as something that he's done now tweets and everything like that. It was weird when I hear people say things like that. Because the you know I don't want to turn this into us versus them. But like that side, the Trump supporting side are the first ones to go. Snowflakes, participation trophies, blah, blah, blah. But then the first thing out of your mouth is your little baby feelings got hurt? Because everybody blames thing on the president. Well, guess what. Ever since. There's been a president. People blame things on the president unfairly and inaccurately, you know, though, drew the few getting to the point that I can't hold on John's talking hold on city, but I mean the Trump Derangement syndrome. That's real. It is real and it's he is into something in people's brains that pisses them off. Maur than anybody else has ever pissed anybody off because he pokes at them. People say that Obama people hated Obama and a lot of people did. He did, But the thing is, Obama didn't go back at the haters, and I think that's what riles up right riles people up. Obama took it. Donald Trump doesn't point and that's and that is, in part why people hate him is because they hate him. And he's going to make it clear that he knows who hates them and come right back at them. That is true. And they're just different personalities, I think, And now people like Kenny are empowered. They personalize it like Oh, they're coming up my president. I'm gonna damn sure speak about it Well, so what do they blame everything about on Van Buren and Fillmore and presidents past. It's just they took that as part of the job, and Donald Trump and some of his supporters seem to take that personally. But do you subscribe Kenny to the philosophy of Will they do this canceled culture and I find that wrong, But I'm going to do it too, because I find it. Okay. If we're doing it, or do you find it reprehensible either way. Why are the way I think I've been told to wrongs don't make a right and as far as being able to discern just the President Donald Trump himself, even though I am a supportive I still feel that I would descend any person that every single day that they wake up the news media are people around them are trying to do nothing. But I mean, um, and that doesn't mean whether it's Obama. That means whether anybody who does nothing but negative talk about a person every single day that they wake up. Well, yeah, there are there are those damn people. I mean, there's no doubt about that. There. There are people on either side who just can't wait to wake up and express their political opinions all day long. And I think of what I see a lot of people posting, which is ah In certain variations. Youre not going to change anybody's mind only know the only thing that's going to happen in a political argument on Social media. Is you're both going to be upset and nobody's mind is going to be changed. You're going to get mad. They're going to get mad and no one's going to change anybody's mind. And I think those those type of people in that dynamic is one of the biggest reasons why there's such a divide because I don't think that the people that love the president so much That that support every single thing he's ever done. I don't even think they're really supporting him. I just don't think they're willing to give an inch to the mob. On the other side. They don't want to appease those people ever or let them have a moment where they could say Oh, I told you so. See, Look it he did that and you know they would, too, of course, and that's what's pushing people away. Or pushing people closer rather than what he's actually doing right, And that's why I try to have as much as possible discussion about the issue itself, rather like a president. Calling for a boycott and an American company no matter the circumstances should be unacceptable to you to anyone, especially those of us who love American industry. But because of the nuances here, there are those of you who are okay with it, And I don't think you should be. Well, I think you know when we're talking about the president. There are there are a chain of things that could take place when you're the president getting this information, so he's on Twitter. He sees a screenshot of something that supposedly happens A good year, he could probably have the CEO of Goodyear on the phone. Having a conversation in 2.2 seconds. But rather than do that, he took a screenshot, which Goodyear claims is fake and ran with that theory. And said, boycott the company so Yeah, You're right. Lot of AA. Lot of things could have happened if you'd just go. It could just go different. You know, I could just go differently and productively Judo alive. Hi. Who are you? I drew it. Alan. How are you? Alan? What's up, man? Oh, is this Alan the blasphemer? Get the blast tomorrow. Oh, man just did me a huge favor. We got a lot of real Christians who listen to show Alan. Not fake ones like you. So if you could avoid, Yeah. If you could avoid saying g d So you don't offend those people today, we've got a lot of angry E mail from people saying Tell that fake Christian Alan not to use G on the radio. Yeah, I'm sorry. I never claimed to be perfect like you, but, yeah, it's okay. And I deflect all the time when I've do you not hear what I have, You know that. Chul. Attention on this phone line is just writing. "We have Kenny Kenny, welcome. Hey, good morning, Harry. Happy to you out that another weekend full of fun. Vigor. Couple years ago, almost three years ago. I bought a fixer upper. Spent the last couple of years remodeling literally every square inch of the house windows doors. Driveway. My last couple of projects. One of them kind of scares me in the basement. Okay. I had. Come out and do a program for me. Okay. Corner of the basement where the cinderblock is damp. There's no water coming through draining. No toddling any of that. But it's damp. I want to know what you think is the best scenario for me to do. Shelf. Well, the first thing I would do when you said you hit a basement systems done. Have you called them? Was there any warranty? I'm just checking. Of course, there's no water coming into. Okay. It's just moisten their. Itself is no water running down the wall on the floor of that is the wall. Anything has the wall ever been painted or anything along? Okay. Have you looked outside to check my killer? Geez. Which is the gutters free flowing moving at water away from the foundation. In our city, north ridgeville here we don't have stores. Okay. Great degrading, fine. Extenders on the end of the, the gutter downspouts. Okay. Okay. All that stuff. Yeah. Okay. And no puddle of water around the foundation or anything like that at all. Okay. If it's just damp, the first thing I would do is I would get some dry lock. And dry lock is a water proofing paint. And I would paint that wall. Products. Branding. In the best by far by far. In terms of even how much pressure can hold back. And it won't even be an issue for a wall. That's just getting damp. In fact, we start off today show talking about putting dry lock on a wall, just minimize water vapor penetration through a foundation wall which can be up to eight to ten gallons a day. Wow. It can also stop rate on penetrations through the walls. So that would be the first thing I would do without a doubt. Dry. I mean if you wanna just do it over that area. Okay. But, you know, if you want pinup, a whole wall, even better. But again, the reason I asked about the paint is paint on that. Wall is the first thing that cans going to say is pain on a bare substrate. Okay because he can't waterproof old paint. Now vicious. Well, that or a paint stripper there's a, there's a environmentally friendly. Indoor safe painter for you can use called blue bear. It's called blue bear with Safin all give you a website to get it. You can get it on Amazon, too. But their, their website is f r a n. M A, R friend, mar dot com. A. M. N. F. A. N. M A, R friend, mar. Right. And you put a real thick code on it on where the pain is where you're gonna be paying you. Let that sit. In fact, I'd do it late afternoon or evening. Just let's set overnight and scrape it away. And then get the dry lock and there's even a dry lock extreme or just a regular dry. Luck will be fine. Just damp block, or a Dan foundation is nothing for that dry. Lock to seal it up. Jerry. Very good. Good luck to you. Take care. Bye bye. Now, let me just tell you a little something something here. Okay. Because I talk attention here. I talk about a lot of things when it comes to the basements, right? We talk about the killer. Jeez outside the gutters. Grading groundwater. We've talked about the whole system where they do the exterior digging interior digging. That is the ultimate ultimate. Okay. So if there's flowing water, I always cautioned myself on saying, get some hydraulic cement PECH thing up put some dry lock on it. You're good to go because I always ask, where's that water going now, usually once their water flowing in got a bigger problem fits, damp, wall? You gotta problem but maybe something you can kind of control with the dry lock eventually, if that problem becomes big enough in a good because. Why, why, why is that will getting wet wool? My guess is the primitive pipes on the outside of that home are getting slightly clogged. Maybe a little crushed maybe tree roots getting in there. Serves a little bit more water pressure that was there than was there, ten years ago. So we're gonna put the dry lock on there. It'll stop the problem will stop the problem for ten years. Twenty years, thirty years. I don't know. But it will solve your problem for right now. Eventually may be you end up having to look at the alternate whole system, the little troughs that helps a little right? It's bringing water in its controlling it in a drain to the sup, well, kind of half the system, but for that wall getting damn sure try that'll that'll do great job for you. John, welcome. Gary, how are you? Yes, sir. Just fine. One. Time. Just wondering if you still. Or something? No of something that would be better. It is a very niche product. I was thrilled for years when I recommended it the reason I don't talk about it as often now is a little complicated product. And there was some folks that let's say the expectations were a little bit different than what the actual performance would be one. I'm talking about is remembered the one time would is not a solvent. It's not a water base. It is a liquid solid, which means it dries, not from evaporation. In fact, it doesn't dry at all. It's cured by the sun. And when people were using index in full sun, Walla, perfect last for six, seven years beats a lot of product, most products if not all products. But if there's just a little bit of shade or a little over, hang it can't cure, and it stays tacky. And that's a problem. Nothing was ever. Yeah. Yeah. I know it's still being manufactured. If I want to use it again, can I just go over the old you can? And that's one of the beauties of that product that is certainly one of the beauties, we are talking to the fellow from the five would stain. He was talking about, you know, in a couple three four years wash it off with soap and water and reapply, the, the five would stain, the worst time would is what right along those same lines in your at the end of its life that six seven year period. Either washing it down or using a oxygenated bleach, or debt cleaner, and in replying to one time, would you will not have to strip that great? All right..

Maybe Maybe prove prove you you can can still still do do a a handstand handstand world world rolling rolling for for asking. asking. You You know, know, we we live live the the very very focused focused light. light. So So we're we're going going to to stick stick to to our our plans. plans. No No there there is is no no new new resolutions resolutions for for twenty twenty nineteen nineteen other other than than make make sure sure we we stay stay focused focused and and for for skateboarding. skateboarding. And And past past the the past past the the point point of of being being a a pro pro skateboarder, skateboarder, but but I I still still try try to to do do a a hand hand stand stand on on the the skateboard skateboard at at least least once once a a year year to to make make sure sure I I could could still still do do it. it. And And I'll I'll probably probably do do that that with with my my team. team. So So looking looking forward forward to to a a great great CDS CDS this this year year lab lab test test eight eight Lacerda Lacerda sight sight to to see see the the when when I I was was researching researching you you I'll I'll let let you you a a Detroit Detroit native native who who grew grew up up with with roots roots in in the the automotive automotive industry. industry. And And I I believe believe you you started started your your career career working working on on the the manufacturing manufacturing floor floor at at General General Motors. Motors. But But soon soon found found yourself yourself leading leading Detroit Detroit for for new new opportunities opportunities overseas overseas and and in in Silicon Silicon Valley. Valley. So So can can you you expand expand on on that? that? Tell Tell me me about about the the transition transition from from the the manufacturing manufacturing for for for for new new opportunities opportunities older older season season in in Silicon Silicon Valley. Valley. Sure. Sure. Sure. Sure. So So I I worked worked at at General General Motors Motors between between junior junior and and senior senior year year of of college college to to make make some some money money for for college college snow snow university university in in the the US US is is quite quite expensive. expensive. And And I I was was supposed supposed to to be be programming. programming. Robots Robots at at General General Motors. Motors. Will Will it it turned turned out out the the robots robots were were delayed delayed from from Japan? Japan? And And so so the the plant plant manager. manager. L L Harris Harris came came out out to to us us twenty twenty eight eight college college students students who who are are supposed supposed to to be be doing doing programming programming and and said said men, men, I've I've got got good good news news and and bad bad news news bad bad news, news, robots robots won't won't be be here here for for another another nine nine months. months. Good Good news news is is you you can can work work on on the the manufacturing manufacturing floor floor as as production production supervisor. supervisor. And And learn learn manufacturing manufacturing is is all all about, about, and and we we we we were were like like deer deer in in the the headlights. headlights. I I really really needed needed the the job job slide slide state state about about half half the the people people left left and and took took their their backup backup jobs, jobs, and and I I had had to to manage manage you you cranky cranky twenty twenty to to thirty thirty year year veterans veterans of of the the United United Auto Auto Workers Workers union. union. And And as as there there is is a a nineteen nineteen year year old old with with you you knowing knowing very very little little about about management, management, and and I I tell tell you you they they just just rip rip me me apart apart for for the the first first few few weeks weeks until until I I finally finally earned earned the the respect respect in in delta delta relationship relationship with with them. them. But But it it was was probably probably one one of of the the toughest toughest things things I I ever ever did did was was managing, managing, you you know, know, people people older older than than me me different different races races different different backgrounds, backgrounds, and and it it really really took took a a lot lot of of humble humble pie pie to to be be able able to to do do that that job. job. But But I I still still love love technology technology and. and. For For me me getting getting out out to to Silicon Silicon Valley Valley was was goal goal at at least least getting getting out out to to the the west west coast. coast. And And I I took took a a job job with with a a startup startup chip chip company company as as a a chip chip designer designer and and moved moved out out to to southern southern California. California. And And that's that's how how I I started started my my technology technology career. career. Incredible Incredible journey journey you you all all to to the the CEO CEO of of Campbell Campbell based based company company called called Mojo, Mojo, which which is is a a leading leading SAS SAS platform platform for for connected connected cars cars and and carry carry a a brand brand new new IOT IOT services. services. But But Mojo Mojo is is also also you'll you'll six six outing outing the the CEO CEO I've I've got got to to ask ask where where did did your your passion passion for for using using technology technology to to solve solve real real world world problems? problems? Where Where did did that that come come from? from? It's It's interesting. interesting. I I was was looking looking back back and and turn turn it it throughout throughout your your we're we're we're we're the the roots. roots. My My dad dad was was electric. electric. So So he he always always had had switches switches and and light light bulbs bulbs and and circuits circuits we we built built radio radio shack shack electronics electronics kits kits together. together. He He actually actually built built a a TV TV from from a a heath heath kit kit project. project. Can't Can't we we actually actually take take all all the the components components and and build build your your own own TV TV in in so so tinkering tinkering with with electron electron at at early early age age really really helped helped with with that. that. And And I I look look back back and and now now that that radio radio seconds seconds defunct defunct and and all all the the stores stores are are shut shut down. down. You You know, know, I'm I'm hoping hoping somebody somebody resurrects resurrects those those kits kits because because as as a a young young kid kid playing playing with with those those cats, cats, you you know, know, really? really? Really Really taught taught you you the the basics basics of of how how hell hell electrcity electrcity flows. flows. Have Have switches switches work work relays, relays, transistors, transistors, building building your your first first transistor transistor radio radio component component by by component. component. Those Those are are things things that that kids. kids. Now, Now, just just take take for for granted granted everything everything just just works. works. Are Are you you don't don't need need to to know know how how it it works? works? I I think think understanding understanding understanding understanding how how things things work work is is a a key key part part of of building building out out love love and and curiosity curiosity around around technology technology for for people people hearing hearing about about Mojo Mojo for for the the very very first first time. time. Could Could you you just just set set the the scene scene ill ill failed? failed? Exactly Exactly what what as as the the real real world world problems problems that that you you solve solve what what makes makes stop stop out out of of solutions solutions outlet. outlet. Sure. Sure. So So some some OJ OJ we're we're in in Vancouver Vancouver based based company company with with offices offices in in Silicon Silicon Valley. Valley. Also Also Sofia Sofia Bulgaria, Bulgaria, we're we're quite quite global. global. We We build build a a cloud cloud platform platform for for IOT IOT starting starting with with the the connected connected car. car. And And what what that that means means is is we we for for just just ten ten dollars dollars or or ten ten year year olds olds per per month month of of mobile mobile operator operator provides provides a a device device that that the. the. Sumer Sumer plugs plugs into into the the vehicle vehicle into into their their on-board on-board diagnostic diagnostic court, court, which which every every car car since since nineteen nineteen ninety ninety seven seven has has in in by by plugging plugging that that device device in in you. you. Light Light up up for for G. G. Lt Lt me me WI WI wifi wifi in in the the car car see see of of high-speed high-speed wifi wifi in in the the car car that that works works anytime. anytime. The The car car is is on on you you also also decode decode all all the the secret secret information information hiding hiding behind behind that that on-board-diagnostics on-board-diagnostics port, port, for for example, trouble codes when you check engine light goes on. And you have no idea what the problem is. We'll tell you not only the severity of the problem. But what the problem is the likely cost of repair. So when you go into a mechanic shop you as a consumer have much more power than just driving in and saying, please help I have no idea. What's wrong with my vehicle? Now, you can drive in and say this catalytic converters failing it should cost about six hundred pounds. Can you do it for six hundred pounds or less? So So just just those those two two features features not not only only give give the the customer customer more more convenience. convenience. But But also also save save them them time time say say that that money. money. It It also also lets lets you you know, know, if if your your car car has has been been tampered tampered with with has has been been bumped bumped toters toters being being stolen, stolen, and and you you know, know, that that your your loved loved one. one. Ones. Ones. Are Are also also getting getting into into a a safe safe vehicle vehicle for for me me I've I've got got teen teen daughters. daughters. So So knowing knowing that that they're they're driving driving safely safely knowing knowing where where they they are. are. And And the the cars cars are are safe safe is is also also great great peace peace of of mind mind for for me me as as a a parent parent and and with with that that we've we've gone gone from from zero zero to to eight eight hundred hundred thousand thousand connected connected car car last last eighteen eighteen months, months, and and we'll we'll put put you you off off Moderato. Moderato. If If you you let let you you close close twenty twenty eighteen eighteen on on an an incredibly incredibly high high note, note, we've we've moved moved T T mobile mobile Poland Poland as as long long as as the the small small cost cost pilot pilot by by Mojo, Mojo, which which takes takes you you to to nine nine operators operators in in six six countries. countries. But But could could you you expand expand on on these these and and how how incredible incredible journey journey which which seems seems to to be be gathering gathering spate? spate? Now, Now, doesn't doesn't it? it? Yes. Yes. Thank Thank you. you. It's It's it it really really is is celebrating celebrating Deutsche Deutsche Telekom, Telekom, which which is is majority majority owner owner of of T T mobile mobile also also t t mobile mobile Poland Poland t t mobile mobile Germany Germany Austria Austria Czech Czech Republic. That That Goto Goto telecom telecom has has been been amazing. amazing. They They have have a a partner partner in in group group with with a a couple couple of of key key people people Ota Ota Chesney Chesney Gabby Gabby that that actively actively work work as as hard hard trying trying to to help help the the startup startup that that the the that that the the big big corporate corporate has has invested invested in in as as they they do do making making sure sure the the corporate corporate gets gets there there initiatives initiatives completed completed so so that that group group has has been been really really helpful helpful in in helping helping us us to to find find the the product product test test the the product product make make sure sure it's it's carrier carrier grade grade also also making making sure sure were were fully fully compliant compliant with with GDP GDP are are the the new new regulations regulations in in Europe, Europe, and and then then helping helping us us work work through through each each of of the the different different countries countries which which still still are are allowed allowed to to make make their their own own individual individual decisions. decisions. So So that that investment investment from from Richard Richard telecom, telecom, and and the the partnering partnering group group in in working working closely closely with with them them have have been been really really instrumental, instrumental, and and we we are are super super happy happy to to have have our our most most recent recent launch launch in. in. Tell Tell the the town town has has number number one one market market share share there. there. And And they're they're really really excited excited about about being being used used this this technology technology to to make make their their car car safer, safer, put put WI WI fi fi in in it it and and helped helped her her consumers. consumers. Save Save time. time. And And if if you you look look back back at at your your ago, ago, we we were were searching searching for for an an automotive automotive big big brother brother in in automotive automotive industry. industry. So. So. You You know, know, insulated insulated a a difficult difficult to to penetrate, penetrate, a a very very slow slow decision-making decision-making and and very very much much not not invented invented here here mentality mentality of of companies companies trying trying to to do do everything everything themselves themselves sweet sweet felt felt having having a a strategic strategic investor investor and and dig dig brother brother would would be be really really helpful. helpful. We've We've talked talked to to most most of of the the OEM OEM suppliers suppliers in in the the world, world, and and our our our our our our hope hope was was we'd we'd get get the the number number one one supplier, supplier, which which is is Bosch. Bosch. They're They're twice twice as as big big as as the the next next biggest biggest supplier. supplier. They They have have amazing amazing technology technology the the invented invented the the can can bus, bus, which which is is what what our our technology technology talks talks over over through through the the Opie Opie deport deport and and happy happy to to say say on on this this Boston Boston investor investor today, today, but but we've we've got got five five different different technology technology tracks tracks that that were were working working with with them them on on including including having having our our platform platform work work directly directly with with an an embedded embedded telematic telematic solution solution in in brand brand new new cars. cars. It It will will be be doing doing that that side side by by side side with with Bausch, Bausch, which which is is pretty pretty pregnant pregnant headed headed when when when when you you think think about about it it so so company company with with four four hundred hundred thirty thirty five five thousand thousand employees employees hundred hundred billion billion plus plus in in revenue, revenue, and and they're they're sitting sitting there there side side by by side side with with Mojo, Mojo, our our you you know, know, ninety ninety person person growth growth company company so so super super excited excited about about that. that. And And what what what what a a difference difference a a year year mix mix of of close. close. You're You're going going to to be be probably probably cool cool impact impact about about me me in in CAS CAS promoting promoting Mo-jo Mo-jo pushy pushy pup pup to to a a romantic romantic gondola, gondola, ROY ROY of of close close with with to to celebrate celebrate diversely diversely unto unto you've you've got got skateboarding skateboarding tricks tricks to to perform, perform, but but if if you you do do any any down down till till enjoy enjoy CS, CS, which which is is probably probably doubtful doubtful is is anything anything that. that. You'll You'll excel excel about about checking checking out out while while I I am am Vegas Vegas has has an an incredible incredible new new hockey hockey team team Las Las Vegas Vegas nights. nights. So So in in law law and and fear fear that that can can we we got got lucky lucky never never made made the the power power luck. luck. Not Not back back home. home. I I believe believe you you also also do do guest guest lectures lectures at at stunt stunt fits fits engineering engineering entrepeneurship entrepeneurship program. program. Can Can you you tell tell me me a a little little bit bit more more about about that that program? program? And And why why you you think think so so important, important, absolutely. absolutely. Why Why looking looking back back to to the the first first company company I I started started I I wrote wrote my my business business plan plan in in that that class class and and the the class class is is a a combination combination of of engineering engineering master's master's students students and and business business schoolmaster schoolmaster students students in in the the Inkatha Inkatha that that class class is is a a business business plan plan that that you you present present to to both both the the professor professor Mike Mike lions lions and and also also the the students students and and eventually eventually to to venture venture capitalists. capitalists. Why Why wrote wrote might might first first business business plan plan in in class class in in actually actually starting starting my my first first company company I I go, go, which which I've I've actually actually took took public public ninety ninety nine. nine. And And so so that that class. class. Nice Nice has has a a real real special special place place in in my my heart. heart. You You know, know, healthy healthy launch launch my my first first business business in in so so Mike Mike lions lions invites invites me me back, back, and and I I come come back back in in disguise disguise myself myself as as another another student, student, and and they they do do the the business. business. They They do do the the case case study study on on my my business business plan plan and and students students just just rip rip apart. apart. All All the the silly silly things things that that I I was was thinking, thinking, and and how how strategy strategy was was off off and and the the always always different different things things were were were were blemishes blemishes or or problems problems with with the the with with the the business business plan. plan. And And then then eventually eventually Mike Mike asked asked me me to to come come downs. downs. I I take take off off my my baseball baseball cab cab come come down down to to the the further further class class and and tell tell her her what what actually actually happen happen says says a a real real fun fun kind kind of, of, you you know, know, live live case case study study around around the the business business that that that that actually actually worked worked despite despite all all the the problems problems in. in. So So that's that's a a lot lot of of fun fun for for me. me. You You know, know, I I got got my my first first big big break break from from a a Stanford Stanford alumni, alumni, John John Michael Michael who's who's very very first first investor investor if if he he had had come come up up with with the the original original idea idea for for the the business, business, and and you you know, know, he's he's been been a a huge huge proponent proponent of of entrepreneurs entrepreneurs is is a a first. first. Estrin Estrin Staples, Staples, kinkos kinkos copies copies and and was was really really the the guy guy that that stood stood by by me in during the tough times. After starting the business said, listen, I believe in you believe in the business steel stick through this. You're gonna make it instead of worrying about each of the issues to send me a fax. This is back. When people did a lot of faxing semi a fax every Friday in the one good thing that happened and you'll see after time, you're you're making progress in you know, it turns out he was right in. So I'm threader thankful now into Stanford. But also, John Michael for gave me the confidence to stick with it. And not let the first second third or fifteenth problem. He'll. Knock you down every startups have problems, but you probably saw beginning one more step closer to the solution. So that's a key part. And the other is just being back on campus. Really energizes you being around you all students the energy, you know, the taking you back to time. When you remember that anything is possible? There's nothing like that feeling of being on campus. So I get a lot out of it as well. Not you have enjoyed a fantastic career experienced a dramatic is on lows of entrepreneurship since we can help from shop floor. But But can can you you share share the the finished? finished? Oh, Oh, most most interesting interesting story. story. This This happened happened to to you you since since you you began began late late in in Ulan Ulan company company had had -solutely. -solutely. Well. Well. You You know, know, I I started started at at the the chip chip company company called called Silicon Silicon Systems Systems right right out out of of college. college. And And after after on on a a couple couple of of years years working working in in different different parts parts of of the the genera genera team team invited invited to to a a CEO CEO dinner dinner and and the the CEO CEO of of the the company company car car of of I I didn't didn't know know this. this. But But he he didn't didn't fight fight six six seven seven people people out out to to dinner dinner once once a a month. month. Trying Trying to to get get them them a a little little liquor liquor up up in in in in having having few few glasses glasses of of wine, wine, and and then then he he would would say say all all right, right, Kenny. Kenny. What's What's the the one one thing? thing? You You would would change change in in this this company. company. Just Just one one don't don't give give me me ten. ten. What's What's the the number number one one thing? thing? You You would would change change his his company company right right now, now, what what is is it? it? And And I I said said well well for for customer customer meeting meeting last last week. week. And And I I noticed noticed that that your your sales sales guys guys are are confused confused about about some some of of the the products. products. They're They're missing missing opportunities opportunities in in customers customers really really frustrated frustrated trying trying to to figure figure out out which which of of the the products products to to use use and and how how to to apply apply them. them. I I think think we we need need a a two two day day technical technical training training class class for for our our sales sales people people and and Karm Karm says, says, you you know, know, what what you're you're right right at at a a lot lot of of complaints complaints about about that. that. Hockey Hockey seemed seemed like like you've you've got got a a good good personality. personality. So So starting starting Monday, Monday, you're you're going going to to be be transferred transferred up up to to Silicon Silicon Valley. Valley. And And you're you're not not going going to to be be in in technical technical sales sales way. way. We'll We'll what what what what that's that's not. not. That's That's not not what what I I suggested suggested he he says says no no that that that's that's exactly exactly what what he he suggested suggested in in is is perfect perfect and and start start packing packing your your stuff stuff tomorrow. tomorrow. He He can can move move over over the the weekend weekend report report up up to to the the general general manager manager John John Tamil Tamil up up there there on on Monday. Monday. And And that that was was it. it. I I was was pushed pushed from from a a technical technical career, career, which which I I was was really really enjoying enjoying into into sales. sales. And And you you know, know, I I thought thought of of sales sales is is used used star star sales sales people, people, I I never never understood understood or or appreciated appreciated the the importance importance or or the the art art of of professional professional sales sales and and went went into into his his office office and and said, said, I'm I'm not not I'm I'm not not a a salesman salesman engineer engineer design design products products Bill Bill products. products. He He says says number number one. one. This This is is not not a a democracy democracy decisions decisions been been made made number number two. two. He He says says nobody nobody in in this this company company gets gets paid paid until until somebody somebody sells sells something something and and number number three. three. I I heard heard you you wanted wanted to to be be an an entrepreneur entrepreneur some some day day will will if if you you wanna wanna be. be. Sure, Sure, sell sell better. better. Learn Learn how how to to sell sell get get out out of of my my office. office. And And you you know, know, might might might might sales sales manager manager John John John John Tamil Tamil was was a a true true pro pro taught taught me me all all the the ropes ropes of of selling selling in in in in the the importance importance of of a a professional professional sales sales career. career. And And we we just just crushed crushed it it became became number number one one worldwide worldwide eventually eventually at at thought thought TD TD k k at at later later TI TI in in that that experience experience combined combined with with the the other other lessons. lessons. I I learned learned it it so so consistent consistent stay stay with with me, me, my my whole whole career, career, and and I I look look back back because because I I had had a a chance chance to to go go back back to to General General Motors Motors and and IBM IBM which which I'd I'd also also worked worked at at and, and, you you know, know, if if I'd I'd taken taken that that easy easy path path which which actually actually paid paid more more money money than than what what Silicon Silicon Systems Systems offered, offered, you you know, know, we've we've never never learned learned as as quickly quickly as as they they did did it it growth growth company. company. And And I I also also think think it it would would have have delayed delayed in in in in maybe maybe even even prevented prevented me me from from ever ever starting starting a a business. business. So So the the taking taking that that path path less less traveled traveled in in the the more more difficult difficult path path I I really really recommend recommend especially especially when when you're you're beginning beginning your your career. career. So So if if anyone anyone listening listening wants wants to to meet meet you you all all your your tape. tape. At At CS CS the the way way obey. obey. "That can only mean one thing that my buddy John Rich's in New York, and he's in studio just told me what your tenth wedding anniversary, your kids are eight and seven now, I remember the little teeny boppers. He just had your baby. Now man there are seven and eight have been married. Ten years today. That's that's an accomplishment, man. I save a horse ride a cowboy. Yes. So all of a sudden, I'm watching a huge country music fan my whole life. You, sir. And then all of a sudden, there's this video of you. And and Kenny Kenny, and I'm like what the hell is what just happened. What just happened? And then you create the music, mafia. Right. And you add all these other incredible artists. Yep. You one of the most prolific and and really best writers of music. I know, and I get to be your body and hang with you and watch you do your thing. What do I tell you every time? I see you. Why couldn't God make me a singer? Do this while you're welcome onstage anytime with us. You know that ruin your song? Man. It's it's been a great great run. We've got new music out. Now. I mean, it's it's pretty incredible to see the impact big and rich music has had around the United States. But. I'm in New York come up here and talking about the folds of honor, which I know is a group that you're big time. Big time. Honor puts kids through college who lost a mom or dad fighting combat or a spouse to college he lost a spouse. And I've got this new whiskey. Sean, it's called redneck Riviera American blended, whiskey, and you know, me we we've been out a couple of times now. But I'll tell you Sean takes it easy. I don't take it so easy sometimes around shock because I get excited around Sean, Hannity, you know. Telling the right story. I gotta be honest here. You cannot hang with John, Richard. Unless you're willing to stay out to the sun comes up number one number two, whether you like, well, I guess it's going to be redneck Riviera whiskey for now. Crown Royal guy. Well, I was going to say you a crowd and crown Royal just tastes like crap to me. Well, it's Canadian blended with I've always drank that and I got to wondering a couple of years back. I've been drinking this Canadian blended. All these years, where's the American blended whiskey? Nobody had it. Right. So I said, well, I'm going to make it. So I worked on it for all the 2017 seventeen. We put it out the beginning of this year. We're now in forty one states. So if you go there actually in Vegas you own a bar. It's called the redneck Verbier one in Vegas. One in Nashville is downtown. Yeah. So I'm hanging out with you one night you and big guys big and rich are up on the stage. You're singing a bunch of songs, but you got a bar in the back right of that. And tell the story about what you have to do when you go to the bar in the back, and you're a you can show. Oh that you're a military person. Okay. So if you're active duty of your vet, and this goes for all the redneck revere bars out there, I drinks on the house and Nashville, it's bits buy one get ones on long after drinks. We have we hire active duty in vets to work at redneck Riviera so we're employing veterans and active duty, and then we give ten percent of the prophets tie as we know my dad's a preacher maintenance me about growing up. Ten percent of every bottle of revere. You're you're like your dad must have done a lot of prayer and fasting still does still man. He's always praying for your your tearing it up. Well, I pick my shots nowadays. But I was gonna say ten percent of every ball redneck Riviera whiskey that we sell goes to honor. And I just wrote them a check that covered thirty seven college grants and my goal. This year, though, was forty I wanted to hit forty college grants with the whisky swum three short. So I wanted to come on your radio show and say guys gals if you're out there, go to redneck Riviera dot com. How much is it to get to the how much do you need to get to the forty total? We need we need to sell a couple of thousand more bottles, which can be done. We can pull out here, and I can buy one hundred and give them out to my audience. You could do that. I could do that. You could do that. We'll done redneck Riveria dot com has got a store locator. You just click on that put your zip code in bone the stores pop up. Listen, this is real for you. Now, I work with the Freedom Alliance for a lot of years. They do scholarships to honor. I know a lotta guys have folks at FOX folds of honor, great charity or the one I work with lately is building home for heroes. Andy that runs it. Unbelievable guy one of my favorite big enrich songs, and they're all my favorite. Honestly. I when you guys jam it is a party. It's just fun. I always have fun around you. So you guys did a song about the eighth of November? I wanted to play a little bit of it because okay. I watch you guys perform it it blows me away the reaction of the crowd. Explain what the stories about because you start by Kris Kristofferson starts that. Yes. By telling a story. Yeah. So November eighth nineteen sixty five was the first major ambush in the Vietnam war. Thirty Americans went out only three survived the ambush, one was our friend. Now's here's who lives in deadwood, South Dakota. They can't even I met him many years ago. He was a bartender, and we met him at the end of one of our sets found out about his story. He was at Walter Reed for two years after that. Got out of Walter Reed. Signed up into three more tours of Vietnam for one hundred seventy third airborne brigade out of Fort Benning, Georgia. We were so blown away by historian patriotism, buddy. Like, our buddy, Marcus Latrell lone survivor. Absolutely. So we wrote this song. That's literally a play by play of what went down on the eighth of November with our friend Harris play a little..
