"To ten. Okay. You can do that. But da ball, they're 9 6 and one. I still can't name three receivers on the team, even though I watch football every week. Dave ball saved Danny dimes career. And I got to say, I'll admit to feed on the Danny dying thing. My whole philosophy on QBs were like, you kind of should know after three years, right? If it's not there after three years, it's not happening. And I think that's 19 out of 20 times the case with quarterbacks. And he seems like he's the 20th where not only do they have to resign them now. I actually think he'll be in demand. I think teams would want to have them. It's because of what you said, like this experiment, whatever. This union that wasn't supposed to work out in 12, 14 games, but they will and Daniel Jones, right? And it certainly wasn't supposed to work out with Richie James and Darius slayton. Isaiah had a zombie Kenny gallaudet. Oh no. Remember the first few weeks we were joking that they were trying to kill Danny dimes because they kept rolling them out into like three guys. They were just trying to kill him so he could play Tyra Taylor? Nope. And his numbers aren't even spectacular. I think he was 19 for 24, 19 for 25 and less than 200 yards, but he extends drives, right? I don't know. He was just cold game as everything. But he's scary. When you bet against the Giants, you're scared of him on third and 5. For sure, right? That's like the ultimate test. And I go shit. What's time's gonna do? But you give it the table over sirianni? I think he's the other one. That's gonna get it. Yeah. I don't know. I think they had saran and kind of blew that one. Right? They're good, but their record's not really that much different than the other 6 teams. They have played, I don't know. I think it's day ball. I can't believe that teams 9 6 and one. I mean, we were trying in the before the season trying to make a case for the Giants. I remember. And I was just going to talk out of it by giants fans of my life. No way. We don't have the talent. So it was like, no, they got the easiest schedule, it's a weird division. The cowboys are going to be worse. Every once on the eagles, bandwagon, I don't know, maybe there's a Zach here with the Giants and all the Giants fans were like, nope, there's no zag. It's not happening. The draft pick. Absolutely. Yeah. I mean, not a good guy. Rubbing it in. When a guy's basically crippled next to him, he's doing snow angels, but no, but and he didn't even play a lot. And they didn't buy the receivers playlist. Like I bet them over their win total, but if you would have told me the receivers are out, we're not gonna say thibodeau for a while and all this other stuff. I might have turned around on it, but yeah, they're damn good. They're gonna be tough. I wouldn't want to apply them. More stuff from week

"I've been thinking about the ramifications of this and it's just not something that computes in my brain. You know, you're thinking, okay, what if Derek Carr is a season like this or someone, you know, guys that can really start shuffling the pieces in the dominoes. But like, you know, okay, what if Geno Smith is like the 12th best quarterback in the NFL? What happens? Like, that has big time ramifications. You're Ben mcadoo fanfic, really just takes on a whole life of its own at this point. The alternate universe where he gets Gino Smith as his starting quarterback and things end up okay with a giants. Ran up against the Manning cabal in that one. And just they shut big bend down and Gino and they had, this was what it was supposed to look like giants fans, but instead but yeah, ugly game, which has been a giant's trademark at that point, but boy like we talked about. There are some young players on this team that are playing extraordinarily well. And you can't be upset, I think it's 6 and two if you're them, right? I mean. This is so much better than you thought you were going to be. You're getting some decent plays out of some out of some of these younger guys. They're playing bigger than themselves and Daniel Jones doesn't look like a clown out there. You know, I think everything looks like every Sunday it looks like a professional football game. And that's really good. That's important to say right now. Again, we don't have to play this game with every team, especially the Giants, but I'm sure we'll play it a few more times this year, but you know, when you were coming to the season, if it was like, okay, here's the Giants rosser. Oh, also like kaderi Tony's gonna be a complete non factor and they're gonna trade them for draft picks later. Also Sterling shepherd's gonna tear his ACL Kenny gallaudet is still gonna be complete non factor. It's gonna be basically Darius Leighton David sills and just a bunch of street free agents. Marcus Johnson, like guys of that ilk, you'd be like, I don't know, that's a four win team. And it'd be like, well, what if they went 6 and 11, you'd be like, oh, it's a nice year for Brian table. And they're sitting at 62 right now. They could lose out. And it would still be like, yeah, I don't know, this was still better than reasonably you could have expected. Yeah, I completely agree. I mean, a lot of times that I pick records, you know, you think about, oh, well, you know, would a coach not take offense to it because I don't really care, but like coaches and teams do read this stuff. Our. Predictions are red, Gary. I'm just gonna let you know that. They are red, people are taking note. But and sometimes I'm like, ah, if that guy saw that, do you think he'd be mad? And honestly, like I thought about it. I picked the giant single 5 and 12 this year. And I was like, yeah, I mean, I think they'd be pretty excited about that.

"Be on this show. He is getting an undue amount of heat, I feel like based on that based on that cowboys game, I'm glad he had an isolated game. They're the only game going on there. It was another chance for everyone to see him. I'm glad he had a performance like this because I thought he played really well in that Monday night or where they lost to Dallas. You have to consider the fact that he was just under siege all night and on top of that he is throwing to David sills and Kenny gallaudet and strolling shepherd who I think has the is a good player but might have the smallest catch radius in the history and the NFL. And he's basically a couple of inopportune drops and a phantom offensive pass interference call away from sort of winning that game, not quite single handedly, but pretty close to carrying the Giants to a victory. So to have this kind of performance was big, obviously this receiving core is Darius slayton and I don't know, the rest of these guys are, they're street free agents. It literally, in some cases, Marcus Johnson was there. Richie James is still getting a lot of snaps. David sills still getting a lot of stuff. David sills V there you go. Let me tell you something about David sills though. Because I've been to giants can I go to giants camp every year? Yep. And every time I go, he makes some incredibly theatrical, wild, perfect play. And you're just like, holy crap. Why isn't this guy play more? And this is now we're finding out. Not why. I mean, you know, he's made the catches that he's had to make. This year. I mean, he's been, he's been fine, but you know, I guess that's why all of us watching training camp at half speed are probably not equipped to properly judge roster strength. When he's toasting the various NAI cornerback camp that invite types. Two other quick things about David sills, one of them, I'm still shocked that he wears odo Beckham junior's number. I guess I guess I didn't expect the Giants to retire the number, but it's just super weird. Considering how many, you know, we both live in sort of the metropolitan New York area or extended area. I don't know, technically how far it goes. But I see a lot of Odell Beckham junior jerseys in my town. And it's weird that it's like, oh, you should just rip off that nameplate. Make it sills V yeah. The other thing, I don't know, I don't know if I'm about to give you the Ryan Fitzpatrick, went to Harvard type of factoid here, but do you remember David silvers was the 9 year old who got the offer from lane kiffin as a quarterback? Quote unquote offer. It was all just sort of a PR stunt for, I think it was David Clarkson's QB program. But yeah, he was that dude back then, so it's always kind of funny when he pops up because that was the thing. I think I wrote about it when I was at Sports Illustrated kids in like 2010 or whatever that was. Wow. I didn't know that. So yeah, I didn't know if that was out there. Some people might be rolling their eyes because it might be like a very well-known factoid and Connor was the last person who didn't know it. But there you go. There's some David sills facts. And the only thing I don't want to make this like a versus type of thing, but when you think about what's going on down in my aim over the first three weeks of the season where it's like two is playing at this offense now with Mike mcdaniel designing it, which is just spectacular. It's tyreek hill and jaylen waddle. It's just, it's impossible to defend. And you know, everyone's sort of rightfully saying they're like, oh yeah, two is starting to take off here. I mean, if they were reversed, if tua was trying to function in this offense and Daniel Jones was down in Miami with the two fastest men on the planet, running a Mike mcdaniel off. My point is, it makes a difference. Like you have to grade this on a curve to an extent, Daniel Jones is playing very well. That's the main takeaway. Daniel Jones is playing well and you're right. And I will be, I will be magnanimous where you are while you are being a little bit tepid. If Daniel Jones was in that offense, God Rohan's gonna come on and just punch me in the face. But you know what? It is what it is. Because left handed people don't know how to throw a football. I'm just kidding. But if Daniel Jones was in that dolphins offense right now, I think we would be talking about him on a tear below where we were talking about Joe burrow going into the playoffs last year. Like a tier a tier below. So a tear is a big thing. It's a long, it's a long way, but it's not, you know, it's as long as it needs to be for you to not come back, clip this audio and come back and bother me about it. Yes. How about that? Yes. Well, look, all these guys are obviously unique. Daniel Jones is unique in that he will make an occasional back breaking mistake. Losing fumbles in the pocket is like the worst thing you can do as a quarterback. It's much worse than an interception, which tends to be thrown, you know, downfield. When you lose it in the, you know, when you turn it over on a strip sack, which happens to him still too frequently, though not nearly as frequently as he used to. You lose the ball and you lose the field position at that point. But he also, on the positive side, he creates plays where there are none, which to me, every system in the NFL is really good. This giant system is really good, even if they don't have the weapons right now and they're a little bit limited. What you want in a quote unquote franchise quarterback is someone who can just lift that system up a little bit more. Just supplement it a little bit more. As well as obviously operate it. He is probably not as efficient operating it as you need to be, but he can create. He can lift it up. He can make you some plays where there are no plays, which, you know, boy, the giant obviously they're taking themselves out of contention for like a top 5 pick here. And I just, I think you have to make like a three year commitment to them. Not top of the market, but yeah, somewhere in the high 20s. I think is what he gets and what he deserves at this point. Yeah. And I will argue too that I think that there was a drive at the end of the third quarter in the beginning of the fourth quarter were actually sils V did catch a pass on that drive. But when they tied the game up at 20, where there was twice where rashawn Gary had him in the backfield, but he was behind him, right? And so those are plays last year and dating all the way back to Daniel Jones rookie year that are strip sack fumbles that are returned for touchdowns. No question about it. He gets banged in the arm. He loses the ball. And he sensed it and both times ran for at least 9 yards. And that speaks to what you're saying about creating a place, but I also think like some of the turnover stuff, I mean, it just takes time. And yes, I'm gonna sound like, God, who's the most milquetoast analyst that says the same things, like Meryl Hodge, you know? Is Meryl Hodge still around? I don't think so. I love marijuana though. You like Mari Hodge? I loved him as a player. He's fine as an analyst. Meryl Hodge march slayer, like all those guys that kind of say the same stuff. But

"They were counting on high priced free agent Kenny gallaudet and first round draft pick to Darius Tony, but so far, those two have combined for only two catches. John stash hour Bloomberg sports, Nathan. Okay, John, thank you 6 37 on Wall Street time to take a look at stock some of the names moving in the pre market. We've pride Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent creedy Gupta away from watching the UK market this morning to let us know what's going on in the early trade here on Wall Street. What are you looking at creating? Do you know? Do you know how hard that was, Nathan? I bet. It's like watching a train wreck. It looks like it's having some kind of impact on the futures as well. They've been whipped song. They are, I think if you're just trimming some of their losses here off the announcement, which is interesting, really reacting to the bond market, perhaps things there's some maybe some stimulus on the macro front, perhaps coming or I should say less hawkishness for that matter. Let's go to the U.S. though because there seems to be a perhaps a little bit more semblance of calm, although I wouldn't call it I wouldn't go crazy with that phrase either. Apple shares AAPL is what's taking the cake with taking the spotlight really this morning down about three and a half percent. This comes after a Bloomberg report actually a Bloomberg scoop, I should say that the company is likely to ditch its iPhone production boost. Remember this was going to be their major kind of shift forward. They were shifting to production lines from China to India, a really amping up what they're going to do for the iPhone 14, as well as creating perhaps a more lower cost version to be able to tackle some of the more emerging markets that rarely Apple doesn't have the majority of sales in. I'm really taking on China a full throttle. So that news looks like undermined a little bit here with that bloomer report. And the ripple effect here is going to be all across their supply chain. So Apple shares AAPL down 3.4%, but then you have to look at the semis as well. Micron, for example, MU's your ticker down 1.2% Qualcomm, not far behind it. QC OM is your ticker down 1.8% in the morning and of course skywork solutions also part of the supply chain. Down about 2% Nathan. So once again, a reform effect. And of course, the other big corporate story this morning creedy is Biogen and that Alzheimer's drug. That stock's been soaring all morning long. Oh, it absolutely is a 43% gain, and that's not even where it was session high. So for BIID, that's your taker for Biogen to your point Nathan, it is talking about its biggest gain since its 1991 IPO that is, of course, if the move actually holds the way it is right now, analysts saying it's all about the Alzheimer's drug study with their partner, I sigh, looks like things are going well on the Biogen front. And remember, Biogen was actually looking for alternative ways to diversify their portfolio. They were actually basically thrown under the bus for a while because of the lack of diversity they had in their portfolio. So this is really good news that they were finally able to get a little bit of success there. I'll leave you with one more very quickly locking Martin LMT down about 2% this morning. This comes after it was downgraded to an underweight over at Wells Fargo. Taking a little bit more of a cautious view on the defense sector. All right, Bloomberg radio and TV markets correspondent creedy Gupta will let you get back to the UK market. Now it is a very busy early session and looking at futures this morning it's busy there as well they had been lower for much in the morning right now S&P futures are up two points. We'll call it little change. Dow future is up 54

"That should have been a category. I'm staying away from that team team. I think the car, I feel the same way about the cardinals. I don't want to bet on them. I don't want anyone on their fan. I just want to pretend they're not happening. Put them over in a corner. Craig, who do you have? Clyde Edwards. I hate myself for it, but I'm bad. You're bad. You're back on CH. You're three. I've done it every year. I'm not giving up yet. The second I read that the cheese are gonna opt for like a more power run offensive scheme. I was like the Michael Corleone godfather three move. It's like, damn you've changed. I'm back. You know, we should have done with Clyde Edwards to layer. We couldn't even make an acronym out of his name. That should have been our first sign that it might not have worked out for him. He doesn't really roll off the tongue. All right, next category is I wouldn't take him even if he was free guy. I'm just going to do it. It's a podcast. Let's make some noise. McCaffrey's not on my team. I'm Jesus not. He's played ten games up two years. I don't think he could stay in the field and he's not on my team. I have crossed him off my list. He's not in my draft board. I've told my scouts and everyone in my war room, we're not drafting him. He is a D and D do not draft. This is how the patriots number one draft too. Look at all the best players like AJ Brown, not on our board. I love high Fitz lab shots at the Patriots, like he's rooting for this amazing juggernaut of a drafting tape. You painted like the last 7 giant straps? Well, I hated the saquon fic and that you were out here just like trying to defend it for I'm still in. I'm still defending it. You caught me at a bad day with pat straps because we waved Devin assassin a couple days after waving. Our two third round tight ends that were so bad. We then had to overpay hunter Henry and Johnny Smith to make up for these two other third rounders. Anyway, it's kind of like the pitcher spot all these clothes after they got dumped and then like a couple months later you're like, man, these don't work for me. It's really bad. The last 6 years were tough from a job standpoint. Who do you have for wouldn't take them if you were free? So I probably would take it for free, but for me, it's Josh Jacobs, like for the Raiders. I just can't, there's no point in the draft he falls where I'm just like, when he had 250 carers a year, Josh Jacobs made nobody happy. And then now he's going into a Josh McDaniels timeshare where there's just no way he's going to make anyone happy. I would take him if he was literally free. The person I literally wouldn't take if they were unwavering is Kenny gallaudet. I wouldn't take him on my fantasy. Yeah, that's not fair. He doesn't count. He's going to get away with two damage. He's already pretty much free at this point. I got Darren Waller. Dan walking. I'm not walking away. He hasn't played all pre season he's been hurt. There's contract situations, devonta Adams is there. I don't love the Vegas offense in general this year and I don't need Darren Waller in the second or so. He's like fake hurt. I think he's waiting for his money to get his holding in. Yeah, that team definitely needs to spend more money on offense and ignore the lines in the defense. That was the wave leatherwood today. I couldn't believe it. I mean, if you just stack up all the John Gruden draft picks and you're like, every first rounder was a miss. It makes me feel better about the drafts. Who do you have DK? Well, I had gallaudet. He's trending towards being free anyway. That doesn't count. The other person I wrote down here is Michael Hardman. I'm just not falling for it again. The opposite of the Corleone. They're not sucking me back in with this equal Hardman thing. I refuse. That could have been a category, Craig. Michael Corleone? No, the you showed up at my door again. Batting your eyelashes at me and I'm not letting you in this time. That's my Cole Hardman. Somehow, we've all had him. He's been in the league three years. I feel like he's been on everybody's team. I've never been seduced. Oh my God. None of us took Zeke Elliott, which I think is an absolute outrage. I had him written down too. All right, high fits. Who's your somebody's got to get points on that team? Talk yourself into him guy. Craig mentioned him earlier. I mean, Michael Pittman for the cults, I mean, Michael Pittman literally has more receiving yards in his career than all the other culture receivers on the roster. Also, Michael Pittman played in the NFL for two seasons. And yet somehow that's true. They have nobody else. Who do you have, Craig? Christian Kirk on the Jags. Oh no. Who else is catching passes on this team? There's Evan engram. At tight end. The other receivers are Marvin Jones and zay Jones. He's the new Brandon cooks. I'm going to pay it right now. He will be the new Brandon cooks. You'll get a thousand yards every year with Trevor Lawrence and nobody will care about him. DK? I'm going to go with Wanda Robinson, rookie receiver for the Giants. Okay. Here's the deal. I'm nervous to get excited about a guy who's like 5 890 pounds. Or whatever. Like I got too excited about Ronda bor last year. You should learn from this. I should learn from my mistakes. I'm just not going to do it because the Giants don't have anyone else right now. They got Kenny gallaudet, who we've talked about. They have canaris Tony, who is, he plays once a week. The most chaotic player in the NFL maybe. We just don't know if he's going to play any given week. Starting shepherd coming off an Achilles, Colin Johnson, who was probably going to take over for Kenny holiday, tore his Achilles. The Rookie tight end, Bellinger, who Craig, San Diego state alone, Bellinger, he just got a concussion I don't think he's going to be playing week one. Who's going to be catching passes for the scene? They drafted him in the second round. Ostensibly with the plan. So I'm going with Wanda Robinson. I really like that one. I debated one day for my shameless Homer pick. Yeah. That's a great one. I can't believe I'm picking forth in this category that none of you took my guy.

"Than the Patriots and maybe the Texans name a team with a less sexy wide receiver room. Chicago Bears. Yeah, bears was the first one that came to mind. Boom, done. Darnell Mooney's better than anyone that's on there though. Oh, stop it. I'd rather have, well, I'd rather have Burke's treylon Burks than Darnell Mooney just out of pure upside. They also have coal command versus Austin hooper. Dude, Austin hooper's about the ball out this year. He has finished top 5 titles. Probably better season in his career than now I will say met is my boy. So you are absolutely right. You don't want to talk down on him. Name another one. Another writer receiver crew that's what was the two you said? New England and Houston. I like Houston's wide receivers. Well, I like two of them. I think personally, I think their top bottom 5, wide receiver room. Probably aren't great. It's Kenny gallaudet. It was always hurt and a lot of unproven guys. Yeah. I think you're probably right. I mean, they don't have great wide receivers, but they have a ton of potential with Kyle Kuzma. Jacksonville for that. Yeah, I think I would rather have the Titans. Yeah, I would too. I mean, Robert Woods is probably better than Christian Kirk. Yeah. Because the number one. I mean, even if you look at, well, I was going to say the jets, but they have Elijah Moore, and then literally a guy that the Titans got rid of. They had Garrett Wilson. I really have Garrett Wilson, but you just said that the Giants have unproven guys. I mean, garibaldi hasn't proven anything. When I say, when I say, said it like three times, why on a while, it keeps coming sexy. People that I would want to draft and store. Like I would take, yes, trailer, so I would take in, but I would take Elijah Moore or Garrett Wilson before anyone else on the Titans. Yeah, for sure. Yeah. What about the packers here? I'll throw one last one out there. That's pretty good. A couple of rookies and Sammy Watkins. I think it's definitely still probably have a top or a bottom 6 at least wide receiver crew. Cool. Let's pick their games. Brian can't pick them to win every single game? Oh, sorry. Well, I'll make you pick week two because I'm interested to see what you'll say. That beat the bills in week two. We're both picking all of them, right? Oh yeah, yeah, that's right. Rob you go first, New York at home to start the season. Which New York team? It's the Giants. Giants. I do want to say with this one. It could be a potential. I know it's week one, but this could be a look ahead spot for the Titans where they're looking to week two with big money that football matchup with the bills. So I don't think it'd be crazy to say the Titans go out there and lay an egg week one against the Giants. I don't expect them to lose, but I think this could be like a kick a game winning field goal kind of game where they're struggling all game. Giants come out with a new head coach, want to play hard. I could see them losing, but I'll take the Titans. I could see it. But I think the coaching is way too good for the Titans for that to come out and actually manifest this happening. So I'm going to go with the Titans. Want to know, week two. Let's go. I mean, I'm still doing it when they're home opener.

"But certainly as a distributor in a well designed offense and also a guy who can use his legs, there are things you can do with Daniel Jones besides ask him to stand in the pocket while you receivers all bump into each other four yards downfield, which was essentially last year's offense. Did you come up with abracadaniel? It's an adventure time. Nod there. It's no, it's just stolen from adventure time. I don't know why I'm trying to soft play that dimension time is a great show. We should all steal stuff from adventure time. I really like abracadaniel. I think that's just because the name Daniel and Daniel Jones in general just has this very polar opposite to a magician feel to him. You know, he's just like, I'm Daniel, you know? And boy, does this really warms my heart? It makes me very, makes me very happy at a deep level. Man, and no chance of him ending up with the Bengals next year, so no like Daniel Tiger. Nickname coming out. We're gonna have to put all those away. Next generation, when Joe burrow, I don't know, he'll make it to what 20, 39 or so. Before we get another Bengals quarterback. So those dreams are dead for now. What did we say about Carson Palmer? You know? Oh, that's a good point. None of the stuff is guaranteed. The bank is like, do they have any money to give Joe burrow a question mark? I don't know. But anyway. This is a pro dime's podcast. There's no doubt about it. I think that there are people in NFL circles who would take him like if Daniel Jones, we've talked about this. Daniel Jones and Baker Mayfield are both available this off season that they would have preferred to have Daniel Jones. He's big. He's tough. He's only known largely crappy situations, right? Duke, it was less than ideal to play in the ACC with that supporting cast and that offensive line. And with the Giants, it's just been tough sledding. That said, I think there's been some moments and we'll see him now in a far more, I think, organized offense that has a lot of playmakers, I don't know what you're gonna do with kadarius Tony this year, but a lot of guys you can catch and run. Plus Kenny gallaudet who had the reputation is that 50 50 ball guy. I think that there is a chance of a very flickering Daniel Jones renaissance here. No, I agree. I really like cady's Tony. I think we built like one Dale Robinson the second round traffic here. And not to mention, I mean, do you have a healthy sake bomb Barkley? You would you'd hope so. You haven't coming into these here. So, you know, you got something going there, kind of like the bears did. We talked about Chicago last show, but they rebuilt three fifths of the offensive line, but did it with the pretty good pretty good guys here.

"I always talk about their non Patreon people as freeloaders and you guys are not any way you want to listen to the show or support the show. I'm happy. Thomas says I'm a massive fan of your content, both strong opinion sports, and Zach schandler talking. And I'm a huge Giants fan from Australia, down under. I often wake up at 3 a.m. to watch games live and it's been a massive effort to do so these last two years due to how bad we've become as a team and organization. Yeah, 3 a.m. to watch a giants game, wow. My question for you is do you think Daniel Jones has a legitimate NFL future? I like how we brought in Tyrod Taylor this off season because I feel like he will really push DJ during camp and Tyrod has proven he can be a serviceable quarterback in this league if DJ doesn't work out. I personally think Daniel Jones can improve and be a good quarterback if given better protection and if our weapons around him can stay healthy. Example, Sterling shepherds take on Berkeley, Kenny gallaudet, Carrie Tony. I truly believe that if we moved off of Daniel Jones, he could go somewhere and have a Ryan Tannehill like resurgence. What are your thoughts on this statement? And keep up the great content mate, I appreciate you. Okay, here's what I'll say. Dana Jones has a ton of potential. I think you're right about that. I see a possibility where Daniel Jones becomes the franchise guy that we think he could become in New York. He's a great athlete, he's a smart guy. I'm very excited to see what Brian dabel can do with him. Brian Davis, a head coach now in New York. He was the offensive coordinator in Buffalo with Josh Allen. He developed Josh Allen into an elite quarterback. And Josh Allen worked his butt off did a lot of stuff with Jordan Palmer. It's not all the credit going to the coach, but the coach did something right there. And I could see a world where he does something right with Daniel Jones and Daniel Jones explodes and is really, really good. Because the ability is there. He fumbles too much, but he can run. I'd love to see him extend plays a little more, do some different stuff. I think with a good coach, helping him out and giving him advice and working with him..

"Maybe like Joaquin Phoenix Joker where it's like I don't like maybe he could be evil but also could just be really silly and like maybe he could be evil and powerful or he could also just be silly and kind of just weird and not know what he's doing. And so I think it's the first one, but we don't know because so much of what he's done so far in free agency has really deviated from our expectation, right? And I'll get to Kirk in a second, but like basically swapping out one guard for another guard, you know, one linebacker for another linebacker like same age, same relative skill set, but you're just paying more for the other guy. Maybe he's laundering money. It could be that kind of thing where you're just sort of in your hiding it in NFL free agents. It could be like a fun scheme, but season 5 of Ozark is going to be absolutely insufferable. But Kirk is, you know, one thing I'll give him credit for, which I didn't realize as much as, you know, and kind of went back and looked at it was he really is an accomplished sort of 50 50 ball guy. Like he does win. I think last year since Kenny gallaudet was hurt all year. Kirk was the 50 50 ball guy last year. I think he was the best 50 50 ball receiver beyond 20 yards in the NFL or whatever it was. That said, you probably draw in the third cornerback for most of those. Second or third cornerback for most of those. And it was striking to me that cliff Kingsbury, the combine, just listening to him talk. He's like, yeah, we just didn't have any options when Deandre Hopkins went down. It's like, well, you know, you did..

You're listening to balance of power with David Weston on Bloomberg radio Bloomberg reported this week that the Treasury Department and other agencies will give the green light to a plan for the SEC to take the lead role in regulating stable coins something chair Gary gensler has been pushing for likening the coins to bank deposits that have to be backed up by reserves to explain the move and how it fits into the larger issues of regulating cryptocurrencies I talked to Todd silverman of Superman compliance services The SEC is sort of drifted into this area in the past It doesn't seem like this would be this kind of congressional action If it's security the SEC has the authority to regulate it I guess that could be challenged But I think it's pretty clear I think I'm pretty solid ground here It is the basic idea here for stable coins which are as I understand tied to a Fiat currency that in fact there are reserves that basically are reasonably liquid to back it up because that's the promise as I understand it of the stable coin Yeah that's how it's supposed to work Now how that exactly will work is a little unclear which currency is backed up and where that will be held And ultimately who's going to be the party on the hook to the extent that you have a breaking of the valuation Is this a like money markets essentially That's how I understand it So money markets with a crypto overlay Yeah I think that's exactly right So this would be one step in that direction Maybe not requiring congressional action What else needs to be done Because this is just stable coins we're talking about For example Bitcoin would not be covered by this as I understand it Yeah I think look there's a lot going on in the crypto space As I'm sure you're all aware the SEC finally approved a Bitcoin futures ETF fund the pro share is fund which is done very very well A lot of demand for that And then there's a lot of pushing for additional crypto funds those that potentially will invest in future invest directly crypto The SE isn't there yet I think the future is fund is testing the market but some of the concerns with investing in futures are solved as opposed to investing directly in the cryptocurrency things like valuation and liquidity It's much more difficult in a direct investment And that is because with respect to futures as opposed to the underlying Bitcoin or other cryptocurrency there is a regulatory level inserted because of the futures right I think that's part of it The futures market is a fairly well established market It's regulated futures prices are regulated So I think the SEC is more comfortable with that And obviously Gary Gus are used to run the CFTC So he is not a neo fight when it comes to the futures market I think the commission and many people in the market are just less comfortable with direct trading and the coins themselves although we're moving in that direction There's no question about it Talk about some of the other issues that would not necessarily resolve just by making sure that a stable coin is backed up by the Fiat currency it's supposed to be tied to What are some of the other issues that regulatory authorities should be concerned about or for that matter Congress I still think at the end of the day this is not affirmation market right Valuation is still a little fuzzy and what I would say is volatile I think that's in volatile markets create situations and in consequences or unintended So that's a big one Will those markets actually liquid will they seize up I think there's security concerns around the underlying technology and then of course you got some tangential concerns like the environmental concerns which have been raised around crypto mining which have not been solved either So there's quite a few things that we need to be addressed But I think they all can be addressed primarily with disclosure and with some of the SEC's traditional mechanisms Are we in a competition globally here with other jurisdictions that are more accepting of cryptocurrency than perhaps the United States Oh I think absolutely Look I think crypto is here to stay Either as a currency or a payment mechanism et cetera Someone's going to someone is going to be the primary regulator because people got to feel safe I think it should be the SEC they're the best and most knowledgeable regulator in the world is secure financial markets But if the SEC continues to push crypto away somebody else will take on that regulatory responsibility whether it be one of the European regulators perhaps China perhaps the offshore regulators But I think yes you should just step in here and make the U.S. the primary venue for crypto trading So the SEC as you say has a long track record of being a very sophisticated regulator At the same time going back to the very beginning you said as certain aspects of a security But does cryptocurrency have aspects of security Do you have an ownership represent an ownership interest in some asset which is what the security typically does Well I don't want to get to inside legal mumbo jumbo but it has to do with whether you're under the SEC how we test whether you're benefiting.

I'm very adults you're listening to masters and business on Bloomberg radio My extra special guest this week is Lisa Jones she's CEO of Amanda U.S. that is the American branch of French investment giant amandi which manages over $2 trillion in assets they are one of the ten largest investment managers in the world leases division runs over a $100 billion here in the U.S. let's talk a little bit about what it takes to build a diverse team You talk about the importance of relationships and how trust is a two way street and loyalty is important How is that a business imperative How do those factors translate into a business environment Well simply if we were to take it Barry from let's talk about portfolio management for a second For anyone who has sat down with a portfolio manager or with your financial adviser and looking to invest in a U.S. equity portfolio what you constantly hear is the benefits of diversification But diversification spreads out your risk So not that I'm the first to say this but why doesn't that then matter when it comes to the people you hire And the versification that you have on your teams And diversification today and I love where this whole discussion around diversity equity inclusion has kind of gone over the last several years Diversification doesn't mean today solely whether I'm a man or a woman or a white non white You know it's really diversification of thought because we can get into trouble when you have group think and you're not challenging status quo So I do believe that building a diversified team is a great way to harness intellectual curiosity to challenge status quo And frankly just to look at the world through the lens of our shareholders and our institutional clients who are super diverse It's been pretty clear from everybody who studied the space that the more diverse points of view you take into any sort of situation the better the decision making tends to be I would agree with that Now obviously you're preaching to the choir because I've grown up I've grown up in this industry for 30 years As a woman you know I have the great honor of leaving this organization but I've had many experiences like others on the call where you walk into the room and you're the only one of your kind However you want to define that And how sometimes that can silence you or it never silenced me by the way but it could make it more difficult for some people to contribute and to participate in a conversation And that's where running in organization and being more focused on inclusion inclusion of thought inclusion of all perspectives and building a respectful work environment You end up Tapping into all of your employees rather than just a handful of the go to employees that may stand out for one reason or another So I think there's a lot of momentum in the market I tend to see the world with the glass half full I'm ultimate optimist but I like what I'm seeing with the energy as we have a lot of work to do but there's definitely energy and commitment around it So what sort of advice do you give to women who are struggling to become advocates for themselves and advocates for women in the workplace be it employment or promotion or governance as part of the member of the board or C suite What I would love to see more women do is really advocate for yourself Don't allow decisions to take place around you But to really sit down with management and communicate what are your career aspirations Where do you want to go And how can I help you get.

"First of all, the Giants have a tough schedule. They play Denver week one that could be a tough game, Denver has a great roster. They play Washington twice this year or they'll pay the rams, Kansas City, Tampa, Miami, the LH chargers who are a team that I think could win their division and maybe even win a Super Bowl like the Chargers are way better than people realize Dallas looked pretty good week one. New Orleans is tough, the Raiders are not an easy win. So I look at game after game after game like, man, this is a really tough schedule for the New York Giants, and people don't believe that, but that's what I see. Now, here are my two biggest problems though with the Giants. Number one, it's a twofold concern. I know I said, too. I guess it's really three. The schedules hard my second concern though about the Giants is that I don't believe in their young quarterback Daniel Jones. I have no faith. I just we can argue on that. I don't think he's the right guy for the future of their franchise. And I think that's going to be a problem moving forward. How many games this year through the Giants play and where the other team has a better quarterback than them? It's almost every game on the roster. Like that's a huge problem. You can't overlook. Now the other problem is I don't have any faith in this offensive line. The Giants have all these receivers and skill players and say, quote, Barkley, and it's like they forgot about the offensive line. I just fundamentally do not like how this offense was built. I do not agree with the strategy and the philosophy of the Giants general manager, Dave gettleman. I believe that winning and doing well enough and starts with the office of line. Like lineman, win games, you need a good offensive line, and you also need a good defensive line. Being good up front really, really matters. And this team, the way they've drafted the way they've made moves of the recent years. It seems like the giant's front office does not put a value on offensive lineman. And I really don't understand that. It's very weird to me. They made all these moves. They went out and got Kenny gallaudet. They drafted saquon Barkley running back. They got kadir's Tony at receiver. And in the last four years, the New York Giants have had 6 first round picks. Three of those 6, by the way, were top ten picks. And so in the last four years, the Giants have had an opportunity. To completely rebuild their offensive line..
