"There. There was this aspect of the hippie era that we as conservatives made fun of and it's it's understandable because some of their demands were so outrageous and especially when it came to their embrace of the sexual revolution. But there was this part of the hippie era. Were the hippies. Were actually more conservative than the rockerfeller conservatives were not on social conservative not on social issues but on issues that came to maintaining a certain way of life it was the rockerfeller bush. Republicans from kennebunkport maine. That'll you know what it's not a big deal all of a sudden if our kids are staring at screens for seven hours a day who cares as long as our taxes are low and the hippies that were in the one thousand nine hundred nineteen seventy s. They were the ones that were talking about. How technology could become a massive existential threat to human existence.

"Yeah well what do you. What do you want to talk about me. I told my wife and i that we need to find more joy in our life. Okay so i thought better helped might help us find more joy. Have a conversation about it here from other people because the last two years have been held because your kids yes and other stuff going on. But it's like we don't have a bad marriage but we're just not as fun as we used to be. Well i mean it's it's difficult i think for everybody. Of course. yeah that's he's divorced am. I'm my second marriage. S having fun again he should just. He goes on trips every weekend. Got a we'll get to that. So what what where. Where's your stash. So you're gonna it's gonna be you and your wife with better help title game more like in a positive way done anything. So stressful with kids agree spoil shits off having more kids right. I don't know i. I don't know i'm a good dad. Uncle a great uncle but good. Oh i'm sure you're a good dad. I'm i think i'm i'm trying my hardest be good debt but with two kids to me like i'm done i would never put this way. If you think the third kid is going to be some sort of panacea to you're finding joy that's not going to be it No yeah you're panacea means like some kind of breaking up breaking point. I'm thinking of the different word. Some kind of revelation or whatever cure all or whatever close enough. Yeah yeah it's not. It's not going to be that. Maybe but maybe we'll be now but i don't like they're getting older they suck right now. So do i miss this. I look forward to having grandkids but these people have kids because they think they're going to be some sort of solution that is that is not that okay. I'm just. I'm just telling you i mean the you know what the solution is just like life life is. Life is tough when they're little. Yeah like when they get older to trust. It's fun. i think it's just a. It's a bad puff age toughish but one day. They'll be at school and you have to worry about them. The greatest thing in the world starts preschool. Next week i was i right. Christmas life is weird to me like he's you know he's a smart guy. He's been reading since he's like four months old and he but yet he seems aimless. There's not a lot of initiative not drive. yes true. And i feel like i'm driven. No i feel like. I feel like it's too i must i. I'm a passing judgment. I admire it. Because i don't think you like you don't really have a job right now. Pretty i do but it's really how do you what do you. How do you make a living very well. See just live off of her. I take care of house domestic stuff like washing dishes. But you over the kids. No kids no. I mean i work at the ice when i go to the job. Helping the animals like somebody who had a terrible car accident some brain and what you do for a few hours a day. I don't know but you're you're a bright guy. You're curious guy. And i had. I was driven by in corporate sales for fifteen years. I did pretty well there too. So they don't have a lot of bills garrison In my twenties and thirties and yeah so we we read pretty modest live short fancy cars and we actually go on trips and i find the debt. That's great. that's that's the key that's number one so you want your forty right forty one forty one. Yeah do you want to do anything i said. I'm kind of asking myself like do i. You start answering. That is it. Why because i've never been happier. Life is short. Your dad died young. Yes you could die like your dag at the you know when we pick up that box and you won't be able to pick it up but i've been on the other side i've been on the side where it's all about work and making money and doing that thing and there's a balance though. Yes you're on one. I must again i. It may sound judgmental. it's not. I'm curious mind of but maybe it's because i have. I don't know i am. It's not great. But like i'm always have fifty things in my head like if we had be a stay home gag right so not so any career. I go into now would have a shelf life in theory. Well not necessarily if you have a kid then right so a kid a year and a half now two so now. I'm going to end up not having that job anyway and jobs had been pretty. I give you more years before. It becomes selfish advocate because you didn't like seventy when they graduate high school like that. That's not that's not good. I'll give give it to you only want one okay. So it's not going to be a thing where we have fifty two or something. I the possible with my wife's vice nine years younger than me. But she's thirty two right. Okay well she could. I guess but yet right. You might need to care about that shit anymore. You think people care about that stuff. People are way more. Like when i was growing up dr. You're fifty five. Well if you can pull it off in you want to do it. We wanna be wanna be like waking up fucking fifty seven years old and changing diapers and dealing with a two year old. That is weird to think about. But don't want to do it. Of course five year window here so fair and then after that then then maybe i'll go back into corporate world. Make some money to retire early. I'm sales you can go find a good sale retiring. Yeah forty one. Yeah but you'll have any like you can't have money to retire right now. No no not enough to retire now. What's a problem. Yeah it no not specifically but basically for a living issues in the finance financial. She worked from home and she worked. She goes in the office. She boston right. So it's a massachusetts john. Okay from because of the new hampshire. Yes okay okay. Gotcha gotcha so she does pretty. Well so basically you just leech now i. I do all the dishes. I daily to people in the house. He does the dishes. I take care of the dogs laundry. Watch i suit the forest. I do the dishes she works. It makes money. I should well. She clearly finds value in it. Though it would cause a problem at this point. No one i appreciate. I like people. That are like yeah. We're not having kids right now. I i hate people who like you know. You don't have kids. Don't have kids khurana. Right young kids. So i got my buddy. Mike lacey. Never wanted to have kids fantastic. I people who do that then. Have kids is than i i. Don't get the kids. Shame she never see likes to that. I if i flex ability we can go on trips and do stuff. We have plenty of flexibility. Did well what if you leave though. Let's say you go somewhere and then you realize there's a dish dirty the house get mad. Get back but that's a lot of pressure though. Those dishes don't do themselves. There's no there's no mechanism it's been invented. That could take care of that for you. Know for sure but high. Put them any. Do you take them out. Dry them i to every single time just make. She's never done that she'd never done dishes. How she's never gonna order cooking me. Wow what's a big chris. The call me chris when the leap cookbook comes out. What's your big dish. Which january dish on the calendar pro jimmy. Just chilly but i make a really good baked chicken. But he put in the chilly. I don't put any do cheese. "To conclude are studying the book of the Bible. We have been looking at all about the books. We Wanna look at Jude and revelation a date. Normally I would have had jude I this morning and then revelation tonight. I flipped those around because we want to spend a little time. The book of revelation revelation is a book that interest a lot of people but it is also a book which seems to be confusing to a lot of people one of the easiest ways maybe to understand the book of revelation or study is to consider there is a cast of characters if we can have some insight about the characters and perhaps some of the places. It's an easier book to understand as I think about that. Look almost from the standpoint of a Parak- sitting down with a child and the challenge says there's this cartoon or maybe it's a video game. There's this video game that I've been playing and I want to tell you about the game. The child says these are the key characters and he lives here and she lives there and this is the workplace. This is the family pet and so forth after we get that basic information of weakened understand the cast of characters and what the cast of characters do we can at least have a general idea as far as what's going on what if we approached the book of revelation in that. Same Way. That's what we WANNA do. The book of revelation has some characters that we can identify some characters that we can have an understanding of it also talks about so places. The information on the next slide is where we're going to spend of our time now. These are not all the things that we could talk about as far as the cast of characters and places that if we can get these basic ideas in our head as far as an introduction to the book of revelation. This'll be very very helpful. One of the places that we read about in the book of revelation is the abyss. Not Know about you want to hear about the this. That does not sound like a good spot. That's what John says. The this is something like a home for demons. You may not have ever thought of. It will have a home but he does. He doesn't have a house quite like we do. But Jesus said in Matthew Chapter Twelve in verse. Twenty five devil has a kingdom. He has his own domain in Mexico. Beginning with Verse Twenty Five. Jesus talked about how he was going to plunder the devils kingdom completely plunder any did Satan and evil workers they do have a dwelling place and that is worse than any Halloween haunted house. Now if there is a god and if there is the opposite of God a devil you would expect that there could be or they're likely would be some type of spiritual conflict. Well that's what read about in the book of revelation. The book of revelation is fill with spiritual conflict in revelation chapter twelve in verse. Seventeen the bobble leaves no doubt about the fact that there is a spiritual war and the devil is a warrior not only as a warrior. He is a fierce soldier. You may remember that. If you've read this book John Talks About Armageddon. There are battles take place. Satan is no coward. It's not perhaps a word that lear too often now but growing up. I used to hear about yellow-bellies now. Yellow belly is not somebody who has a yellow stomach. A yellow belly is the person who is a coward. Yellow-bellied is someone who's afraid to fight the yellow-bellied who is someone when it comes to war says I don't want any part of the conflict that is not Satan revelation chapter twelve verse. Seventeen says the Satan not only is a fighter he makes war. Listen to this with the people who keep the commandments of God. Are you someone who tries to keep the commandments of God? If those few words describe you the Bible says that Satan is interested in making war with you. You are his enemy. He doesn't want to visit you. He doesn't WanNa just tap you on the shoulder. The Bible says that he wants to make war with you. That's an important point if we want to be a Christian and that's one of the things that we learned from the book row relation if we are really crying live a Christian life. We are someone that Satan wants to take out. The abyss is not a pleasant place. The Devil has surely a much better time going after us. Some might say well. That's interesting if the devil really wants to make war with me how does he do it? Let's very very logical question as you look at the book revelation you find some references to Babylon. That'll one as you said that I. It seems to describe a way of life a course of life which says that man can have all he wants all he needs in this life without God. We see that one source tried to some Babylon this way. He says it is the humanistic hope of Paradise. I like that. It is the humanistic hope of Paradise. That's the message that the devil is pushing. That's the message that our world is pushing. That's the message sometimes. Politicians are pushing. If you look society we find all kinds of conflicting ideas. There are certainly secular ideas we also find a number of different religious ideas in the book of revelation you have a reference to male bail. 'em Is one reminder that there are false religious ideas in the world as the devil makes war against the people of Revelation Chapter Twelve in verse. Seventeen one of his tools. One of his great his most affected tools is false religion and when you think about false religion or perhaps when I think about false religion my mind may immediately go to eastern religions. The stuff that to us seems very far out false religion though doesn't just evolve major air when it comes to quote Unquote Christianity. Air Can also be minor. What if communion according to the Bible is for all people but we restricted or? What if both parts? Both elements of the communion are for. People? But we say one for the preacher for the future and one for everybody else. What if God says Sing and worship but says we're going to bring in an instrument. What if God says? Give us your prosper. But someone says well. We're going to teach timing at our congregation. False religion comes in many degrees. But you know false in small doses is still small. It's false. The subject of religion is a big it is a huge topic in the book of revelation. They call it. Starts you remember the seven churches of Asia. Where eight or their issues. Their airs there. Yes there were what. Well that's fine. I don't care just what you want. No his message. Was You repent? You change run going to cut you off. That's what he said wrong. Religion puts us on the side of the devil. Now that's not a popular message. That's not the way to make friends but God says false. Religion is so bad in the book of revelation. False religion is compared to a beast. Now I don't know what God has in mind when he talks about the least. The picture given a certainly somewhat frightening in revelation chapter thirteen John Hudson to differ. Bee's he says there's a land beast and there's the CB's not literally the that comes up from the sea that least represents evil civil government. John tells us that one of the greatest one of Satan's most effective tools is civil government. Especially if it's evil think about how civil government the power it can easily shutdown in area. That's populated some years back. Chris and I were in Kenya. Monk workmate may remember that Kennebunkport was a place where one of the bushes had house and he went up when he was president from time to time as I spent a short period of time in Kennedy We've met a local and that resident told us that there were times that Bush came to work when it happened the secret service. Shut down the come. If you're coming in they margie from coming in if you're trying to go out. They had that lockdown. If you were in your in nobody was coming in. Nobody was going up. That's the power to you mentioned that you go into a community and you shut it down. Everybody's contained right here. We have seen the power of civil government when it comes to cope with nineteen. The power of civil government is massive. The devils not an idiot if he is at war with US revelation chapter twelve in per seventeen. It makes perfect sense to try.

"The book first came out a lot of attention, was paid to her feelings about the current occupants of the Oval Office, and I don't know whether it was a surprise to people are not. There had been a lot of reporting about it. But the current occupants, took that as a time to help promote your book, so tell us a little bit about that. And, and what was going on there? Well, we knew that we knew that Barbara Bush didn't think much of Donald Trump, but I think we didn't know until the book came out that she no longer thought of herself as a Republican, which she told me in February of twenty eighteen I asked her that question at the very first interview in October of twenty seventeen and she said, yes, this is coming up on the one year anniversary of President Trump's election. And I said, do you still think you're Republican? She said, yes, but a couple of months later in February. I asked the same question I said in October, you said, you still thought of yourself. Republican is that still the case, and she said, no, I'd say, no? At this point. So the idea that Barbara Bush who had been the face of the Republican party. In some ways for decades, who had been the wife and mother of Republican presidents that she no longer thought of herself as a Republican because of its current leader. I thought was pretty remarkable. And the other thing was. In the summer of twenty the other thing, people didn't know was in the summer of twenty seventeen. She was in Kennebunkport a friend gave her one of those Trump Campath clocks. Do you know this little digital clocks says how many days hours minutes and seconds left in the president's term? And friend gave that to her and Kenny bunk. She really liked it, and she put it on her bedside table and Kenny. Choosen paid the major. And then when they were going back to Houston, at the end of the summer, she liked it so much. He brought it with her, and she put it on her bedside table in Houston. So it'd be the last thing she saw at night, and the first thing she would see the warning,.

"Temperatures in the fifties. Tomorrow clouds in the morning, and then we'll see sunshine. Highs will be in the sixties and seventies. This is all things considered from NPR news. I'm Ari Shapiro. I noticed the chain. President Trump posted a pair of tweets yesterday and today stocks tumbled around the world in the US, though, they were down sharply before recovering. They were reacting to a new threat by a president who was clearly frustrated with the slow pace of trade talks between the US and China. Trump warned us tariffs on Chinese products. Could go up this Friday news like that hits home for Stephanie Netto. She owns the lobster company at Kennebunkport Maine, and it's one of many American businesses that rely on Chinese customers. Welcome stephanie. Hi nice to be here Elsa. So before these tariffs kicked in in two thousand seventeen what share of your lumps. There's went to China and about fifty percent of my business was China because I focused on that sector of the business. And now what proportion of your business what proportion of your lobsters go to China zero. I can't. Sell sell allows you to China I can't compete with Canadians. So you have lost half of your business. Yes with no end in sight. And that's because the tariff on lobsters is so much higher. When they come from the US them when they come from Canada. Yes. I mean, it's an insurmountable different. I sell Canadian lobsters most of the year. I probably saw more Canadian lobsters. And I saw the US lobsters. But I can't sell Canadian lobsters to China either, which is kind of defeating the purpose, and conversely, they made it. So the Canadians could sell a US lobster as a Canadian. So it's like, you get double screwed. That's really disheartening. Have you been in touch with your buyers or your former buyers in China? What have they been telling you? We've tried to keep in touch with them all along because it's always been you never knew when this was going to end. There was no defined end. And it's just gone on and on and on and everybody was getting a little hopeful. That we might have some resolution in the next couple of months, and we had the tweets this weekend, which pretty much puts on that. So you sink back into despair. Yeah. I imagine you have been tracking very closely every development of these trade talks. Have you have you reached out to the Trump administration or any members of congress to tell them that things are getting extremely tight for the lobster business now? Yes, we've had you know, when it first started there was some congressional interest. But I mean, nobody can do anything. Right. I mean, the Trump administration doesn't appear to listen to anybody. But Donald Trump there is wide by partisan support for the US taking a tougher line with China, but what sort of deal would you like to see? I mean, I'd be happy. If they just the way the twenty five percent tax because they can compete on a level playing field. Right. Can the tariffs? They imposed on our lunches and China. Never bothered anybody because it was equal for everybody. So it was no harm. No foul. I don't expect to get a better trade tariff rate than the Canadians when this is over if it's ever over you just can't sit here and wait forever. Yeah. So if things continue the way, they are for a few more months is there real threat that you guys will go out of business. Yes. If this continues throughout the full MTR Asli considering closing my business at the end of this year. Yes. If you did have a chance to talk to the president at this moment. What would you like to say to him? They keep moving the goalpost. I mean who knows it doesn't make any sense. It didn't make any sense in the first place. Great. It's like you start a fire, and then try and put the fire out, you know. So well, he's going to do is take out the infrastructure that moves US lobsters and keeps the money in US pockets in decreases, the US trade deficit, we just gave it all the Candida. Stephanie Netto is the owner of the lobster company in Kennebunkport. Maine. Thank you very much for joining us. Thank you for having me, President Trump's threat to raise tariffs came just days before top Chinese negotiators are due in Washington for trade talks as of now, those talks are scheduled to resume on Thursday. And to tell us more about the state of play NPR's Jim zarroli joins us now. Jim Hello Ari. The US and China have been negotiating for months about trade and things seemed to be going pretty well up until this weekend. What happened yet it seemed like the two countries were really moving toward a deal, which would be just an enormous breakthrough that happened. There were still some outstanding. Issues. I mean, the United States wants China to address intellectual property theft and stop subsidizing its businesses. So these are real issues real hurdles, but I think the feeling until today was that both sides really wanna deal and people like Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and Larry cudlow who's the director of the National Economic Council where out making a lot of very positive statements about the talks. So I think the financial markets had been sort of lulled into thinking that a deal was in the works. And then all of a sudden everything just changed and things just seem to have collapsed. So this goes back to the question. What happened what triggered President Trump's tweets while we don't know for sure. But the the president's Trade Representative Robert lighthizer said late this afternoon that China had backtracked on some of the promises it made a he said we felt we were on track to get somewhere over the course of the last week or so we've seen in a Rosen in commitments by China. I would say retreating. From commitments that have already been made in our judgment, unquote. He said we're moving backwards instead of forwards, and that is not acceptable to the president. And then the Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said something similar he said, the talks had gone substantially backward. But they did not provide any real details about what the disagreement is right now. Okay. So tell us about the impact of this. The stock market opened a lot lower this morning after the president's comments at came back somewhat after that what's going on. Yeah. I think Trump's tweets really scared people. I mean, he he's talking about raising tariffs from ten to twenty five percent on on two hundred billion dollars in imports and doing it as early as Friday. So a lot of companies that do a great deal of business in China. Like apple and Qualcomm, they saw their stocks fall. And then today Robert lighthizer said for sure that will happen one minute after midnight on Friday. So that will be a really big deal of it, actually happens. But I think a lot of people in the stock market today. We're asking, you know, how serious is Trump is this? Just a negotiating tactic. Is he tried to squeeze China? A little more on the United States has gotten some good economic news lately. Like Friday's unemployment report. And you know, maybe Trump feels like he can play hardball that the the US economy can withstand a little bit of a trade war. So I think people today we're trying to figure out what that meant. And then after the markets closed lighthizer came out and made these comments about the tariffs. And you saw the stock futures fall again. So we are in a very volatile situation. Really a high stakes environment that's going to affect a lot of businesses. And and it's a pretty safe bet that tomorrow the markets are going to open lower and then on Thursday, these talks between the US and China are scheduled to resume. What do you expect to happen? Well, the trip is still on. It was a question of who will be part of the delegation, China could try to send a message by downgrading the delegation. I talked to Issoire Persada of the Brookings Institution today. And he said the Chinese government really doesn't wanna be seen as weak the. Complication right knows the Chinese cannot afford domestically to be seen as a cravenly giving in to US demands. Which in the Chinese negative are playing by the day at the same time. China wants to get a deal. It's a is slowing a trade war with the United States would really aggravate the problems that faces that's NPR's. Jim zarroli? Thank you. You're welcome..

"Instead, he plans a daring escape he adapts and plans a daring escape in the middle of the night. And I love this moment is in the middle of the night. They commandeer every boat. They can find along the East River. But here's the key moment. George Washington slowly getting his men aboard these boats to safety, but he won't get on any of the boats until all of his men even the lowest ranking one those aboard I in a safely away. They see him giving and risking his life. But their lives. And so I love that. When you read the first and spiracy, you see the secret plot to kill Washington. But what I love just as much and why have so much more respect for George Washington. Is you see the jets of his moral character? Would we even have a country? If it wasn't for George Washington. I don't think this country would look like this. I'll tell you that. I I to me could we have won the war. Maybe. Yes. Maybe. No could we've had a president. Maybe. But to me, George Washington's greatest legacy is this is where I think all of history would change. If he died is his greatest legacy is not any of these battles. It's what happens after the war because after the war, George Washington could have been the king. He could have easily been the king of America. We were used to a king power. He was so popular he easily could have been the first king of America. And King George in England says at the time, what's George Washington gonna do now that the war's been won and painter Benjamin west supportively said somebody's going home which point the king of England says if he does that he's going to be the greatest man who ever lived, and that's exactly what George Washington does. And he does it. Again, after a second term he could have had a third term or fourth term. But instead rather than seizing power making it all about himself. He realizes that. It's better to have faith in us as a country faith in us as a people. And that to me is where all history changed. If something happens to him because the reason why we chose George Washington to be that leader, the be the first president who was a man of virtue. There are plenty of smart people. He wasn't the smartest guy in the room. He wasn't the best commander. But he was a man of virtue. What did George H W Bush think of this book before he died, Brad? Yeah. You know, I became very dear friends with President Bush and Barbara Bush. They wrote President Bush wrote me a fan letter on one of my thrillers many years ago, and we stress struck up a great friendship. He loved and read my books, and I spent many events we did together over the years where we would raise money for literacy, the Barbara Bush foundation for family literacy, and we were honoring MRs Bush just passed and a couple of months back in Kennebunkport Maine, and they brought us in and I found out that they had they were asking some President Bush's favorite authors to come in and read to him and asked me if I would reach him. I said I would be honored, of course. And we went out to his to, you know, Walker's point on in Kennebunkport went to his house and in his office went over to his office and the secret service leave it's my wife and myself, President Bush and his service dog sully. And this is the end we know what's coming and on his dad. Yes, I can see that. There's a couple like five or six books that are already on his desk. And one of them is a dog your copy like it's been read a thousand like so many times is a copy of the first conspiracy of my book. And I he he actually blurred the book he gave us one of the blurbs on the back said, the most lovely thing called it. You know, there's some book that everyone should read and he was just incredible about it. But he I sent it to him nearly a year ago. So this is a few months back, and I grabbed the book, and I brought grab my copy. And I said, sir, you want to read this, and he says because at this point, it's just not can, you know, just say, yes. And they told me listen, he's gonna fall asleep in ten minutes. Don't take a personally that. It'd be nice. I the honor to do ten minutes with the president. And I started reading one of my favorite scenes in the book, which is when George Washington, very first time has the declaration of independence present the torture ups, and George if President Bush right in front of me, of course, he's fallen asleep. And I think he's asleep. And I'm it's great. I'm thrilled that I get to do this what an honor? And I get to these words were George Washington when the declaration is being presented. Those famous words we hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal. And in that moment. President Bush's is open up wide is could be lock on me. And I you know, when you're on a hospital bed, and someone's dying, and they just have that moment of clarity where they open their eyes, my mom passed away. And my dad passed away. I had that moment. President Bush's is open up as if the words of the declaration of independence, our life-blood Tam this ultimate IV to a US president, and we get to the end of the chapter, but he's wide awake. I say, sir. You want to read another chapter we read another, and I say you want to read another and another and we keep going, and what was supposed to be ten minutes turns into a full hour. And I said goodbye to my respect and knew I was leaving it for the last time, and I can tell you when I was at his funeral. And when when he. Past one of the things I saw in all the tributes to him was this one word over and over to my friend, President Bush was decency. Cincy. And it wasn't just that he was a decent, man. Which of course, he was. But I think as a culture today the way we talk to each other. And again, they'll politics about whatever side you're on. We've lost a sense of decency. And I think we desperately the culture need that decency. Back, and it's people like President Bush men like George Washington for men of decency and humility, and you know, didn't say me me me all the time. But, but we're men who knew from that greatest generation and from the first generation of Americans that it was it was being humble and being hard working that where the great virtues to have. We've got more with author Brad Meltzer right after these messages on the Pat Williams weekend. Our it's news ninety six five in Orlando..

"The same kind of move toward leftist. The ideas that has really harmed a lot of literature and a lot of Hollywood defined that coming into the thriller field. Do we think there's enough resistance to keep the field free for all different kinds of voices? You know, I think that here's the one thing. That's most powerful thing in the world is an idea. There's nothing more powerful than idea. And as a result. What's the story collection of ideas to me the thing that I don't like an drives me crazy as I hate the shorthand labeling. We do I actually hate saying a leftist ideas much as I hate saying a right side idea. Okay. Nour's with my friend President George W Bush, and I read this book to right before he passed, and I know the Bush longtime, they're dear friends, and one of the things that I know that that drove them crazy in drives me crazy. I'll speak for myself rather than speak for him is when we were reading those George Washington parts, we were talking about the is key moment and President Bush about to fall asleep on me. And they said he's listening sick. Now. It'd be awake about ten minutes. That's going to be the end of the story. And I said, that's okay reading we pretend minute. Former president, and I'm in Kennebunkport Maine to honor Barbara Bush and has reading to him. I get to the part where we get to. The declaration of independence. And I read those words, right? We hold those truths to be self evident that all men are created equal, and I get to that word and he just bolts awake. His eyes. Go wide any wakes up. And I say you wanna read another chapter another. And we do a full hour on told me ten minutes full hours. He's recharged. And I tell you that story because when he passed away the word that got mentioned over and over was this word decency. And yes was because it was a decent, man. But I think when we label it's my long winded answer to you. When we label the left did this and the right did this. And this is if you're right. You think this mean right before you came on you were saying like, I have issues with Trump on this moral level that should not be a left side thinking idea, we should all be able to say there is good parts. There's bad parts is still we do is one of the mind everything the black and white your left your, right? That's how we just we made our decision on you. And in this book, you'll see one of the things we write about the great thing is that equality. We have to see ourselves as equal and assume we're all equal. If you do that, then criticize all you want but show respect showed decency. That's what's lost. And when we lose that we lose that those voices. That's what kills voices now. Is there a, you know, a conspiracy by the left side to keep right side readers out. I think if you have a good voice, and you have a good story. Nothing can stop it. There's nothing more powerful than that good storing good idea, and you see it all the time. You see those that, you know, no matter at you know, what you wanna say something's controlled by this side or that side. You can bring the most liberal author in the whole world and bring them through sometimes on a conservative show. And you're like, wow, that's just a good idea in the NFL. And that's what I believe in. I believe in a good idea RAD. Speaking of good stories, the story about Bush, a great story. Your book is the first conspiracy.
