"Fucking Kendrick Bourne, who's our best receiver, we knew it heading into the year, yes, a hundred patriots fans all hundred would have said Kendrick Bourne is our best receiver. Is something happens to them in Patricia and training camp and he gets buried, right? And it's like, well, this is weird. He's playing ten snaps and so finally, I don't know what happened in the Bengals game, but they're like, fuck it. They start playing Kendrick Bourne. And guess who's open for the last two hours of the game? Kendrick Bourne, it's like doing everything. Yeah. And you're just like, this is exactly the guy we need. None of our receivers can get open. This guy's open. Why did this take 15 weeks? This is the worst coach patriots team in since the Carol era. It really is. It's just abomination. Wow. So bad. You're not getting rid of them. He's not going anywhere. I'm telling you. I still think he might be a good coach. He wants to be surrounded by a bunch of yes men and people he's related to. And it's like, go out like that now, we talked about when I was with wickersham on Tuesday's pod talked about, I had heard some Bill O'Brien stuff. And then it started to get reported this weekend. Bill O'Brien might come back. And it's like, cool. That's somebody who's an actual coach. You know, he wasn't a great GM, but he was pretty successful as the Texans coach. He wasn't bad, but I released a qualified coach on a coaching staff. Yeah, I agree. And it's also, by the way, he was bad for the most part. As a coach, but as a head coach, but I think that's what Belichick needs. 6 months? Yeah, but it's like, all right, you know, you've proven you can't make it on that level. Come back to me. Come back. I had no idea what to. I think you're going to beat me with this week. I didn't really was struggling this week. Week 18 ish type lines here because you don't know who's playing. My God. I had the Patriots as a pick them against the dolphins. I get this. I had Miami by one. It's Miami by two and a half. Okay. Honestly did not know what that line was going to be. That's a stay away. Like a 6 point swing for me. You could have told me pats two and a half, I would have believed it. That's such a stay away. They really did in a lot of ways don't deserve to be favored. The dolphins, but a page that scores score 17 and you're in this. Pats are terrible.

"To get, you might be able to pull it up on your end if you want to pull it up. I'll give it a shot. I wanted to get one in from the second era. And I remember it had a good all 22. Oh, and it came back. The second stint. Yeah, here it is. Okay. Hang on. Hang on a second. There it is. All right, can you see that? Yes. All right. Look at it difference in the video. Right? I mean, well, so this is, he's wearing 84. He's wearing red. This is ideally what Kendrick Bourne looks like this year, right? Yeah. So he's up here. This is Thanksgiving. He's up here. I'll run it once, and then you.

"Catch, obviously, without paths, but made a great catch on a play on the route combination very similar to this. When I say vertical slot, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. And there's a couple more examples in this. But that's exactly what I'm talking about right there. And then you combine the last two plays we saw, right? You had him going deep on the outside across the middle of the field. And then going deep to the sideline from the slot, that's tremendous versatility from a receiver. That's where the Kendrick Bourne comp comes in. Because I think Kendrick Bourne can handle multiple responsibilities like this. Yeah, so you see in the beginning phase of the route, you see how he kind of breaks down the release here, Evan. Yeah, so you see how you kind of stemmed it right at the corner, right? So instead of just running in a straight line off the line and then breaking on the corner round, he actually sort of angles it inside a little bit towards the corner. And what he's doing there is he's threatening the leverage, right? He knows that he's got inside leverage on the corner. So he's making the corner maintain his inside leverage. Like, you got to respect the fact that I might break this inside. That's how I'm going to start stemming it. And then you see the little quick kind of not even a move. It's almost just like a cut out here at the top of the route where he's able to just kind of transition his hips and break outside without slowing down, right? And that's a really difficult skill to do is to make this transition without even really losing momentum working his way up the field. But 21 there, he's got to stay on his inside post, right? He's got to stay on that leverage because Dion threatens it early in the route..

"D pad's part of his game is probably his hands, but sneaky fast. I think Kendrick Bourne's another guy where, you know, we talk about Aguilar and now Thornton is the speed of the offense, but Kendrick Bourne is pretty fast in his own right. So as we watch some of these plays, let's think about like, you know, think about Kendrick Bourne running some of these routes without might look like because I'd like to see him use in some of the ways we're going to show right here. Yeah, I think Kendrick Bourne's play speed is actually maybe a tick faster at times in Nelson Aguilar. I don't know if he's faster in a straight line, but when he has a football on his hands, he has a gear that's dick. That was just different from everybody else on the team. And it was Josh mcdaniel said, I don't know if coach Belichick said it but McDaniels definitely set it at one point in time that when you give the football out of Kendra Bourne, it ignites us. It's a spark, right? It's a different level of speed with the ball on his hands. I saw that, especially when we get to the end around, touchdown against Pittsburgh. You see that gear with Dion. A lot on tape. And I think that that Kendrick Bourne comparison and hoping that this is what Kendra born could become, I guess, is a better way of putting it is a good one for what Dion was. All right, let's get into some of the plays. I want to start with this one because actually this is a player that the Patriots run now and have run even as even last year. So it's a little bit different the way they structure it, but basically they're going to get this levels concept here on the strong side of this formation where the inside receiver is going to kind of run a shallow and the outside receiver here is going to run a little bit of a deeper dig route. Cross it more than dig it, but whatever. They're going to come over across the field at different levels. Dion's here at the bottom of the screen. He's going to run the deep post, right? And all Brady's going to do is read the safety at the top of the field. It was Troy polamalu in this example. When the safety jumps, the intermediate routes, it's going to leave Dion one on one with the corner here on the outside. And he's going to, he's going to burst by him for the touchdown..

"And we talked about this a little bit on the show. Of staring down receivers, right? And kind of bringing the safety to where he's going to throw the football. There's one throw in mini camp. I don't know if it was on purpose. It could have been a total coincidence, but it seemed like he was emphasizing that a little bit more in many camp where he trade Nixon on one of those deep corner routes. And he got to it late. But I think he was getting to it late on purpose because he was staring down the right side, knowing that he was going to come back left. To throw that Peyton Manning broke down where he said that he would have liked to see Matt Cole to safety a little bit longer was actually one of the best plays of the year was that Kendrick Bourne touchdown, right? Delays where the Kendrick Bourne Payton seemed to feel if Mac looked off the safety a little bit longer that maybe that doesn't become quite as difficult of a catch for the receiver at that point. I mentioned the hide in perception. I think that if you look at some of the things that he did during his rookie season, sometimes had that propensity to give things away with his eyes. And I think that that would really help him, especially as they try to unlock his deep ball. Even if you don't have the world's strongest arm, if you can hold that safety over the top for just that split second, it just gives you that little bit more margin of error to throw the football down the field. If he doesn't stare down Nelson Aguilar in the playoff game, does Micah Hyde get there, right?.

"Ronnie lott cut a finger off to play in the game. Yeah, Ronnie lott might take this away. Ronnie lott is that's before most of the people in the world. Yeah, that's before also our lifetimes. But if we were gonna do all time, it's hard to say he's not number one. All right, let's get to the breakout candidates and then we'll funnel this into your questions. And I see a lot of the questions already in the chat. If you have more than keep them coming and we're going to get to a bunch of them here. Breakout candidates. So for the Patriots, I like this segment because I think one thing that I have a tough time that I want to qualify before we get into this is what qualifies as a breakout candidate like did Kendrick Bourne have his breakout candidate season last year, right? Because even though he didn't get over a thousand yards or something like that, he became a regular, right? He became a full-time player and somebody that was a big time contributor. So in your mind is a breakout candidate, somebody that comes out of nowhere or is it somebody that's on the cusp like a kinder born and he goes from 700 yard per year guy to an 1100 yard guy. I think it can be either. I think it's more how much they increase their production or their impact, right? So I think you could have a breakout guy who goes from being a rotational player to like a high end starting caliber player. I think at the same time, it can be a starting caliber player who goes to be like a true impact player. I was going to say Kendrick Bourne and kind of exactly what you just said. He was good last year. He was really good. I think he can be even better. I think he could be noticeably better. I think he can be a thousand yard guy. You're throughout 1100. I like that number for him. I'd say Kendrick Bourne was good. I figured we'd do offense defense. Kendrick Bourne was going to be my guy on offense. Yeah, so just pulling up his numbers real quick. He had 55, 800 yards and 5 TDs last year. So you look at 14 and a half yards per catch. You look at his numbers after the catch too with the ball on his hands. I think he talked about it a lot earlier on in the season try to kind of downplay it as the season progressed. But his grasp of the playbook, I think, was a little bit of a work in progress for the first 6 to 8 weeks of the year. And that's why you saw him really break out in the second half of the season. If he can pick up where he left off, I think that he's a thousand yard guide for the Patriots if he gets that volume. You know, that's going to be the key for him..

"I do wonder if he was maybe bench for a practice. You know, but a Belichick said that yesterday all the abscesses were excused. It wouldn't be the first time that Belichick sort of wasn't absolutely revealing to the media. So I'm not saying it's the case. I'm just wondering, you know, maybe build to teach Kendrick and some of the other newer guys that this is, this isn't the way we do things here. Maybe he was told to stay inside yesterday. And then he was back out there today, so I'm doing air guitar, you know, being as usual infectious self. It looks fine on the field, didn't stand out one way or the other, but good to have 84 back out there. He's one of those morale guys that you need on the field. Doing the Hollywood Hogan out there on the practice field. I'll say about born. It goes back to the Shanahan stuff. Let's not forget. Where was he before? He got to New England. Yep. And, you know, maybe that played a role. Maybe Belichick wanting to maybe move a little bit towards that offense and seeing how born fit in. Look, I am excited for Kendrick born this year. I am probably irrationally excited for Kendrick Bourne given that Devante Parker is now part of this team and, you know, he might not get as many looks or touches as I would hope. One thing that stood out to me, Greg, I want to ask you about born. I was reading our guy Mike Reese over the weekend. And he mentioned, you know, he's talking to born or whatever. And one of the things that born said, was that he was running, that the Patriots were using his running more. Could we see he's not the same size as deebo. He's not the same player, but could we see Kendrick Bourne getting some touches out of the backfield? Maybe even a little bit more than you might have thought, 'cause I thought some of that might have happened last year, but is that going to be more part of this offense?.

"Some sneaky contributors that project on this roster. Honestly, if you want to talk about being optimistic about the offense, the biggest thing for me is James White was out there. And he was limited and he didn't do a ton of team drills or anything like that, but we heard less than a month ago that, you know, he might not be ready for camp, and now at the very least he's in shorts and shells. He's got the helmet on. He's running through some individual drills. That's an outstanding sign to me because they missed him terribly last year. We didn't talk nearly enough about what his offense meant. What his absence meant for the offense as a unit. So if I'm still not getting optimistic, he's going to play week one, just based on some of what we've read, but if they're going to get him back at some point this year, that's a huge, huge boost. So very, very encouraging to see him out there. That was on it. You know, I'm not going to do football takeaways. Like you said, it's a glorified walkthrough, but that was honestly one of my biggest takeaways was that James White was just out there on the field. That's a huge lift. Yeah, he is out there. I also thought, given the stakes and given where we're at in the off season aside, time Montgomery was actually involved, I would say in two in terms of that receiving back roll as well. So maybe they can build a bridge of James White's not ready to go and Pierre strong is not going to be a rookie contributor in that role. As we've known over the years, it takes a year for the most part to get into that receiving back role. If maybe they're a year away with PR strong, I think time Montgomery could give him some reps in that role and be a serviceable as a pass catching back as well. But I just came away from that practice and you see Devante Parker, we're going to get it to him in a little bit more detail. I thought he looked really good yesterday. Looked like a professional wideout. Kendrick Bourne is still somebody that I think is going to just get better and better in this offense and is part of the solution and is the right thing for this offense and what they need. We saw that one handed catch in that fade drill that they were doing down in the red zone. That was really impressive. You just look at some of these pieces that they have on offense. It's certainly more complete. It certainly feels like a more finished product in terms of the Ross or construction than what you're looking at on defense where we saw a big rotation at corner..

"All right, so speaking of the Patriots. Brings us to the Patriots last one of part one of our series. The Patriots at 21, boy, you really want to give them devonte Wyatt, huh? Well, I want to devonte Wyatt to be gone by now, but I have a lot of problems. I had mocked them and inside linebacker, but I don't think either of the two that we have gone right now are stylistic fits for what Belichick wants to do. He's a tough, he's a tough guy to peg. And if I'm bell check, I'm looking at this receiver class. You did some work there, but, you know, there's still a lot to like there. I mean, you have olave, you have datsun. You have Drake London who are still on the board. I mean, you know, and I mean, Trey Lin Burke's, you know, all these guys could theoretically help Mac Jones too. And, you know, I don't know. I don't think he's averse to trying another swing at a first round wide receiver. Yeah, Ole dotson both kind of fit here. I don't want to make it sound like demonte Parker is your solution for the next decade, but obviously they went out and got Parker, another big bodied guy along with Kendrick Bourne and another guy who gives you some blocking value on the outside as well, but yeah, I think again, because we all love stylistic compliments. I think my gut is olave, but I think it's gotta be either O labor dots in here. I don't know if it makes sense to go get devonte Parker and then draft Drake London or Trey Lambert. I agree. I say, let's take olave off the board here. You're building around Mac Jones. I think if your Belichick probably figure, you're gonna, he's gonna, he's gonna draft some versatile safety from Nebraska Kearney that's gonna play there for 11 years. And in the second round and everything's gonna be fine. Defensively. It's roster building one O one. That's right. All right, Connor, that does it for part one of the mock draft series. We're gonna be back on Wednesday. First thing Wednesday morning with part two, gosh, we're going all the way down to pick one O two. What a thrill ride. This is gonna be. And we'll complete our rankings of Law & Order district attorneys. The MM QB end.

"They're like this guy's good, then agal or becomes expendable. Because of the cost. But as of right now, as of today, I think Aguilar has a place on this team. And I think, you know, you and I have talked about it before that. I think that, and I don't blame the Patriots for taking this approach. I like it in we talked about it when they signed all those free agents last year. I'm a little bit worried how much it's going to mess in year one. It's normally better in year two. And I think that a guy like Aguilar stands a chance to be much better. I do think the arrival of devonte Parker. Helps Aguilar get some better matchups and things like that. But to me, Aguilar still, the outside speed element on this team. As of right now, that might change with the draft. And I think like you said, Kendrick Bourne is the more gadget, quick sort of sort of guy. But to me, I think as of right now, I think Parker and Aguilar are almost, if you go with two wide receivers, they're almost your quote unquote starting receivers because they're two different receivers. Aguilar is more of a deep guy. Devonte Parker is more of a power forward type of guy. Then all of a sudden you get born and Myers into the mix and, you know, so I agree with you. I like their mix. I still, I still think Aguilar has a place here. I think that they'll be able to move him around a little bit more to sort of take advantage of matchups and that sort of thing. But yeah, I think that I like the group that they have. They're all different. And it'll be interesting to see if they do anything in the draft to sort of accentuate that. Yeah, and of course, I didn't forget about Jacoby Myers. He's out there as well. He has proven himself as kind of a big bodied slot receiver somewhat. And I think when you have those four guys, if they can stay healthy, it is an interesting mix. You just brought up the draft, Greg, if you're Bill Belichick and you're looking at this roster right now and you're thinking, what are we going to do?.

"He knows Mack Jones capabilities. That would be a hand in glove fit. And that could allow him to go on to continue that type of a relationship with an OC. It may not happen this year. It may happen in 2023, but at some point, it makes so much sense for Bill O'Brien to come back up to New England and be that calming presence that Mac Jones needs. But ultimately, it's going to depend on what he does on the field. And according to a picture that was taken just a couple of weeks ago, that might be getting some help at the quarterback position. What about guru Tom house was shown taking the picture with Mac? There's some rumor going around, and maybe these two might have worked together in the off season. I don't have any confirmation on that, but it's clear that Mack is trying to put in the work to be able to build on the season that he had last year. If he continues to progress patriots will be just fine at the quarterback position. Yeah, I would have loved to see Bill O'Brien back this season, so obviously it's still not completely off the table, but I do, especially with the two tight ends on the team and what he has done in the past with that offense, people forget how good those offenses were. They were really, really good. Tom Brady wasn't always so pleased with Brian. But they figured it out. And Bill is coming from Alabama and he obviously has worked in college football for a while now, young quarterbacks developing guys. That's a spot. I don't think it's easy for anybody to come in and OC Tom Brady after he had his relationship with Josh McDaniels. So that's not Bill O'Brien's fault. Nor is it Brady's. But I definitely, I worry too that there's going to be a little bit of an interruption to that cohesiveness if Bill is trying to fill holes and patch them with putty rather than find a permanent solution at the offensive coordinator position. That's tough. And Bill will do that sometimes. And it was great to do that when we had Tom Brady not sure it's great for somebody like Mac Jones, who still needs a lot, he needs a lot to work on. You know, there's a ton to still develop there. And that's a good thing. I do think that going out and getting a receiver is really important right now. They still are not there on that position quite frankly. Love Kendrick Bourne, obviously super happy with what they were able to do last season, but they also need to add to that. Calvin Ridley was on the table..

"Which player would you key in on? Oh, that's a good question right off the bat with the hot stuff, Tanya. I really appreciate that. Honestly, this is probably going to sound a little bit off the cuff here or maybe a little bit against the grain, but I'm gonna go with David Andrews at the center position. Many time you have that solid veteran team captain that's directing traffic in the middle of that offensive line, protecting the quarterback, allowing him to get into position, knowing exactly how to call the game, make the snap and give him the opportunity to protect Mac Jones. That's something that is so important. You can point to the tight ends. You can point to hunter Henry, having a big season. And he is having a big season. He's become his biggest red zone threat without question. And those two are developing a really, really good relationship. You can look at Kendrick Bourne and the electrifying way he's playing and especially the last couple of games in the things that he's been able to do. These are all big moments. Jacoby Myers being a yards eater out there in the field. They may not be lighting up the touchdown column in the stat sheet, but 98 yards receiving against the Tennessee Titans last Sunday is truly a remarkable fee. So these guys are all making contributions, Trent Brown, obviously a big component of that offensive line. Michael Wayne was kind of working his way back into the fold, Shaq mason, Isaiah when they all play a major role, but to me it all begins with the team captain under center. He dictates how that team is going to be able to move. And even clogging the middle being able to clear room for the running lanes. It all starts with David Andrews. So I look at him as the key component in max success right now. But really, again, and I'm going to go with Belichick in on you. And that's why I tried to stop it..

Patriots Beat

"Because Mac Jones for the first time I would say in a couple of years, the Patriots actually beat man coverage in the passing game. The book for the Patriots really since I would say 2018, but certainly since 2019 has been play man to man on the back end and force their receivers to get off press man coverage and make it and get open against aggressive man coverage. In this game, Dallas played cover one man to man 76% of the time. And Mac Jones through for nearly 11 yards per attempt. And hunter Henry caught a touchdown against man coverage, it doesn't agile or caught it 27 yarder against man coverage, Kendrick Bourne caught the 75 yarder against man coverage. So they were out there actually beating man coverage for once, which is why I feel so optimistic about this is that Mac was getting the football down the field, throw a deep four times four for four on 20 plus yard throws. 8.68 air yards per attempt actually pushing the ball down the field and they were actually beating man coverage down the field and all of these things end up looking good on offense. Plus, they ran the ball pretty effectively on offense as well. They averaged over 5 yards per carry with their backs in this game. So the offense looks like it's starting to click a little bit. And now's the time that you have to trust it more to get it over the hump. And if the Patriots call these games a little bit more aggressively and they go for the jugular when the juggler is there, then I think that they're going to be able to win some more of these football games. Now, when we talk about how they fix the issues that are plaguing them, I think number one on the list for a lot of people is the offensive line. But I actually want to talk about the defense for a second. And do you agree, I guess Alex and my evaluation of the defense that they kind of are what they are, because sure you can make marginal improvements within the season. You get better at certain things. You drill certain things. You have better game plans, maybe. But it feels to me like this is the talent level, other defense now. They have a good not great secondary. Matt judon is really in bar more. I would throw in there as well. Those are two guys that really.

Boston Sports Beat

"Is there a design for what they want to do with Aguilar or Johnny Smith or is it just, are they not doing it? Is it a performance issue? Is it a scheme issue? It's really hard to pinpoint right now. Why everyone looks like why they look like a dead average across the board team? I think it's a different answer for just about everybody. Every Johnny Smith, he's had opportunities. He just drops them. I mean, he had three drops on Sunday, he couldn't block either. He's had other issues in other games. Agile, I think, is more about protection for, you know, I think Kendrick Bourne had did a really nice job on Sunday. But I mean, I think offensively, everything starts with the protection of the quarterback. When Mac Jones is kept clean, he's really, really good. And he's fine under duress too. And we know he's going to be under duress. But it just was not good enough. The protection for him, especially in the first half as things got away from this team. It just has not good enough on Sunday. And until they clean that up until they clean the ability to have a really good running game. Like we talked about. Before the season, about protecting the quarterback and allowing him to find these new weapons, you know, all of us all the rest is moot, John. I mean, they're just, they're not doing the basic things that we thought they would like have dominating offensive line play. And from there, it's just been a trickle down effect. Yeah, that's the killer for sure Greg. I think you nailed it. What was probably the one you can book it, count on its strength of the team was offensive line and you're right. The trickle down effect from there right now is a total collapse of the offense. So you're right. You don't have the one thing you thought you could count on. It's keeping them from being able to do virtually everything else. So it definitely starts there. We'll see if you will see if Trent Brown is healthy enough to play this week. It'll make a difference for everyone else has to step up their game, too. As Greg mentioned, a lot of good stuff over at Boston sports journal, please head over there, subscribe.

"And how Bill loves us in the media. Bill was probably like, I don't really care what we do in camp until we close the door and we have two weeks now. And so, you know, just get everybody healthy for that and then we'll go once those idiots in the media are gone and they can't report on what we're doing. And so I think that I'm hopeful that agile or is fine, I think he's had a pretty good camp. I think born's had a good camp. You know, when they've been out there. And you know, we haven't seen much of Anglo or but and I've been disappointed in this game production. It's been like nil when he's been out there, but I think he's gonna be a good player for this team. I think Kendrick Bourne is going to be sneaky productive for this team. Can you provide the background on that please? The background is pretty black and white for me. Well, number one, I never believe I will never believe when a team puts out a statement. Like ever, you know, I mean, they all have their own reasons for doing things. They can't be disproven. I mean, I'm at least gonna be doubtful about it and then go from there. "But I feel really good about Mac Jones and I'm ready to put him in whenever I can. So was this ever a quarterback battle? Or do you think Bill and his head said cam's gonna start week one? That's what it's going to be. We're going to challenge The Rookie as much as we can. But I pretty much know the end of this story. I do think it was a quarterback competition. And, you know, I say that because if it wasn't if Mac Jones didn't keep up his end of the bargain, then they would just redshirt him this year. And I don't think that they're going to do that. I think that I think that the argument that I keep making is, and I don't know if I'm not making the point clearly enough because people don't understand it. But the week one opening day starter doesn't mean anything. It doesn't if you have two guys who are really close. And you have one guy who's a vet who's been in the league like 12 years and it's been in the system for two years. And the other kid is a rookie first round pick who has only been here for a couple of months. You know, they could easily just say we're red shirting Mac it's cam's team. We're not only putting Mac in if there's an emergency. And actually, you know, we're going with Brian Hoyer as the backup and max not gonna dress. Like that would mean that there wasn't a quarterback competition. There was a quarterback competition because in weak, if it's week 6 or 7 or 8, what have you and Bill and Josh McDaniels look at it and they say, you know what? Cam has a progress as much as we thought. The offense is the passing offenses limited. We can't win like this. We need to go to Mac. Then that means that Mac Jones won the quarterback competition. Week one, week 6, it doesn't matter. Week one is an arbitrary made up deadline. It doesn't mean anything. It doesn't. And I don't know why people keep misconstruing this. But if I think Mac Jones is going to be the quarterback to finish this season for the Patriots and in my mind that all that matters and that shows you that it is, it has been a competition because Mac had to win that. You win that trust, and I think he's done that. Yeah, and they say in the NBA, it's not who starts the game. It's who finishes you hear that all the time and you can say that about the football season. One last one for you. You know, you were one of the first guys, if not the first guy watching Mac in mandatory mini camp. And the control at the line of scrimmage. And I always remember you saying he calls out the mic. He makes an adjustment with the protection. And, you know, he looked, I believe it was at Kendrick Bourne agala, and they kind of had this, yes, this is what we're gonna do and the ball was out quick. So going from that very first time when you wrote about that, Greg, so where we are right now on August 27th, 2021. Did Mack end up exceeding your expectations over the last few weeks?.

"kendrick bourne" Discussed on Greg Bedard Patriots Podcast with Nick Cattles
"The competition was wide open that anything could happen. Come Camp. Yes, they gave a lot of money to Nelson, agholor. He's going to play. He got a lot of money off. Kendrick Bourne, got five million dollars a year. It's not huge money, certainly not anything. That would really Force the Patriots to play him more than a first traffic. So I thought that I think that nikhil has had the opportunity to go earn playing time and go earn a job. And what to me here. And again, we don't know what's going on. We don't know what the conversations have been, but unless the Patriots have told them, dude, you suck. You don't have a chance. Then to me this reeks of n'keal Harry being a Founder, it's wide open for him. Look, his freshman year was injury and Tom Brady didn't didn't really care for him. Okay, we got it, he comes back. Last year. Covet is going on. All right. We all know it was during the offseason was different. It was it was a killer for a kid going into a second year to go through that to boot a new quarterback. Now, there's two new quarterbacks basically in Cam Newton and Mac Jones, but this is the first time to kill Harry, has really had a full offseason as a professional football player and for him to say, I want to trade them now before, at least, going to Camp competing and seeing where he is. To me it reeks of him quitting on the team on the team that drafted him in the first round on his teammates on Cam Newton, who from all. I've been told five people inside. The building has been one of them to kill Harry's, biggest Champions inside, the building has been pumping, a mob has has taken him under his wing. I think he calls him do boy. I think that that's just came form. Sorry, I don't keep up on nicknames, but for him for n'keal Harry, knowing all of that knowing the circumstances in his Very young career. He's this is just a third year, we all understand the circumstances and some of us, including me have been willing to give him additional chances because it has been a normal first two years for anybody in the pros. And for n'keal.

Top 10 players signed by Patriots
"Talk about the Patriots. The the Patriots grabbed everybody's attention by making move after move after move after move. Like we're watching it over agency going off. How many people are going to bring in its kind of unbelievable how many starters they've added? And so I count they added ten players that I think are very very significant to their team next year. In fact, I would say pretty clearly the Patriots are back and a lot of people saw this coming, you know, but they are going to be a force in the NFL next year here is my list my nerdy list of the ten players the top players. They added that are very significant to their roster next year. The first two are massive. It will reshape the entire Patriots offense. They added two tight ends Johnny Smith and Ed Hunter Henry. To Johnny Smith signed from Tennessee. He signed a four year deal worth up to fifty million dollars. That's Thirty one point two five million dollars guaranteed and he's only twenty-four years old. So that's Monday. That's a really gigantic Marquis franchise player. He cited the reason why it came to New England is cuz he loves Bill Belichick. He's got great respect for him. And I want to point out of all the everybody I'm about to talk about these shows to be in New England Bill Belichick got his kind of guys who sought out New England wanted to be there and wanted to work hard and win a Superbowl. I think it matters. It's very very exciting. These are not with Josh Gordon's or what's the other example Phillip Dorsett who they made a move for and they're not really like that. You think they fit they don't work out know. These are guys who all chose to be in New England who wanted to win a Superbowl. I really want to win a Superbowl. These guys went out of their way to be New England now the other tight and they brought in With twenty-six-year-old tight end Hunter Henry from the LA Chargers got a three-year deal twenty-five million dollars guaranteed. It's worth up to thirty seven point five million dollars total if he meets all those incentives. They also added two wide receivers the Patriots brought in Nelson agholor to a you got a two year twenty six million dollar contract East twelve years old. Now a lot of people do not like this move and I I get it Nelson agholor is not the most flashy player in the NFL but I think if it's very well with Cam Newton, he's good at he's not going up and getting the ball. He's got good hands did some stuff of the Raiders that I think deserves your attention go watch what he did with the Raiders and I just I'm like, huh a lot of good plays. Okay. I understand. I see the potential Bill Belichick and the Patriots would see and Nelson agholor go will give the guy a good contract, especially considering the Patriots have like our desolate at wide receiver. They need help. They got home. Who is awesome but he can't do everything by himself from the slot. They have n'keal Harry who n'keal Harry. I I think he's going to pop. I think he's going to progress and keep getting better. But she's not a number one right now. So on top of the page where it's also added Kendrick Bourne guy from my local area actually went to Eastern Washington University 25 years old. He's coming from the San Francisco 49ers. He got a three year deal worth twenty two point five million dollars. Now another thing the Patriots did they also added they signed Center Ted carriages and they traded for tackle Trent Brown. So this is the new Patriots offense right now. They've receivers Nelson agholor, Julian Edelman Kendrick born and kill hair is its own nuclear Aguilera. I'm doing my best. It's a hard game to say. They also have Sony Michelle running backs for any receivers Sony Michelle at running back and improved offensive line. Cam Newton at quarterback who I get why people doubt Cam? He's a former NFL MVP and with when you put cams Talent with a lot of weapons including two outstanding tight ends Hunter Henry Smith, right man. I'll tell you what I look at the Patriots offense and think two things immediately number one. Everything is going to run through their brand new Titans. Their entire offense now is probably going to drive down the seams of the field right up the middle. They're going to use our tents heavily lot of play-action again. I am scheme wise things will look a lot like the page words did back in the day when they had drunk and Aaron Hernandez together to start tight ends. Now number two. I feel very very confident with Cam Newton as the Patriots quarterback and it surprised me but I want to remind you that two years ago. Tom Brady was the page word starting quarterback and did basically nothing and the reason was there were no weapons there. He kept running into the same brick wall. His receivers weren't good enough. So, how can I think you and I would both agree. I like Cam Newton Tom Brady's a better quarterback than Cam Newton. So my point is if Tom Brady couldn't make it work with New England's roster. How was Cam Newton supposed to succeed? He was set up to fail will now Cam Newton's being given weapons is being set up to do. Well, I'm excited man. He's a former NFL MVP, he's hungry. I I personally believe Cam Newton's going to have an awesome year and it really is going to make extended one-year deal with like it was like three and a half million dollars with a bunch of incentives. I honestly think we're gonna look back at his contract at the end of next year and go. Can you believe the deal they got on Camden he played so well for no money. I really think he's he's a guy who can didn't play well enough wage. Last year to earn a new gigantic contract. So he's going to have to show what he can do this year and maybe earn more money next year but I think cam is poised to do very very well and make a lot of money and win a lot of games in New England
