"I'll get some of that in a minute. I appreciate your call. There's a lot to unpack there. Let's check in with trade who is in Nashville. Hey Trey. Very well. Thank you. I just want to call him talking about the Nick saving thing. I'm from national grew up in Alabama. Came in in 2007 and set the groundwork for a long time in head coach at Alabama. I don't feel like he was looking to go anywhere else. I think he came in looking at Alabama as his ending spot. I think he has been consistent around the board and whenever a player or a coach comes in, they know what is expected before they make entry into his program. I think he'll be around for maybe 5, 6 more years. And then choose to retire in a part of something with Alabama's program all in all. I think we'll have a couple of rough years ahead of us just because of the growth of college football in the transfer portal coming about Kirby smart being over there in Georgia, you know, I think we'll have a couple of rough years, but I think savings looking at at least two more championships and then a retirement. I mean, there are people that are probably going to disagree with me, but you know what? There's no right answer there. And thanks for the call. Here's a question about Sabin that I understand the confidence and there's no reason not to have that confidence, but what happens, I think the problem for saving and he's overcome it at every turn. He's not fighting. He's not fighting Kirby smart and Jimbo Fisher. People want to make that out to be the enemy as Griff tried to do. I mean, Griff's line last night about there's some fear in Alabama. I haven't heard that. I don't know anything further from the truth. There's not any fear in Alabama. Alabama fans still feel like they had the best team. Even though this was the best Georgia team, we probably ever seen and the best team in the country. That's how confident in Alabama folks are. And what feeds the Alabama confidence? They beat Georgia once. Yeah, they lost the other one. But they still beat them. And they beat them why? Because they had the better coach in their mind. Now, what happens though, if you look at Sabin's record, he wins the second title. He wins the title in his third year. In 2009, he doesn't win it in ten, which many still argue could have been his best team. He then wins it in 11 and 12, let's 13 get away on the kick 6. 14 on the lost to urban Meyer. And at that moment, people were starting to wonder, has this worm turned? What do you do? He wins in 15, probably not with the best team in that game. He beat deshaun Watson and they lost the next year, but they came right back in 17. 18 was devastating. I mean, that was an embarrassing 28 point loss. 19 was all about LA shoe and Alabama came back in 20. So every time it looks like Nick Saban has been on the brink, he has been able to put the chip down and win the title. That's kept his pressure game away from him. But it can creep up on you though. Let's say next year Ohio states, by far the best team. Sounds crazy, but it could happen. And then what if Georgia wins the next year? That's when the pressure starts and that's when Sabin 72 or 73 or whatever it is goes, you know what? This is getting, this is starting to become challenging. And you lose a game like a Texas a and M, that's a game that Alabama always has won in the past. The Georgia game. I'm not saying they had that game one, but they did have the game. They did have a pretty good position in the game. And then they folded it. You don't know. That's the mystery of football, but when you're at his age, and everyone assumes, oh, you win two more. The pressure begins to build every time you don't. We'll talk more about this in a minute. Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert and an expert on Nick Saban later on. Your phone calls continue right after this..

"Radios Mike gold junior and also look around the locker room if you like X's and O's analytics and probably too much dog talk. Money is a dog. Then give it a listen wherever you get your podcasts. We are here and really, really excited about talking to Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert. We've talked to Ken many, many times about things that have happened in the SEC. And I don't know if we've ever had a stranger 8 days. Can get afternoon. Thanks so much for joining us and I'm going to put my feet up on the desk here and listen to your analysis of what we have just got through watching at auburn. Oh, Paul, where do you start? You know, Paul, you know, you know the saying, I think it was Otto von Bismarck of Germany, said the two things that you never want to observe in the making were laws and sausage, right? And I've been on the inside of some of these upper tier programs that football and basketball and I would tell you, I would also say you don't want to see the inside of the making of some of these teams. And unfortunately, in this business, everything gets played out in public. And it's always the worst. And you know how I do these things, Paul, I try to look at this stuff objectively. I'm not pro auburn. I'm not anti auburn. I don't have an axe to grind in this. And from everything that I see and that I read, they have three objective things that they could criticize their coach over at least question their coach over. Number one, loss of players. He's not the only one that has that going on. Number two, loss of coaches and to an outsider at sure looks like kind of a revolving door. And then number three is the recruiting. And if you go to that Andy Staples article that he wrote, the athletic I think was, you know, he goes through that at length. Well, that's fine if you have performance. Those are our performance issues. If you have performance questions with your coach, you call them in. That's what an AD does. You call them in and you talk to them about it. And nobody ever knows. But in this case, it clearly looked like that that wasn't their issue. They were just looking for a reason to get rid of them. I assume it's driven by money boosters because I had heard that they weren't interested in him to begin with. And now look what they've got. I mean, look, Paul, I know. That there was a department down there in football that was out recruiting staff people for a certain position. They put all that on hold because they thought they were going to get fired this week. So now a recruiting of a staff person has been put on hold now today, parson and his staff get told they're not being fired. Well, how do they go recruit to fill staff positions now? And there are always people that want a job. And particularly in collegiate sports, you can find people. But your ability to go out and recruit the best people has now been harmed. And my guess is, it's going to harm their player recruiting. How could it not? And you just leave the whole department on this tenuous basis, like they're walking all of them walking on ice and no person and no organization performs best when the sands underneath their feet are constantly shifting. And that's what's happened there. And the fact that it's all happened publicly and started back last week with now what looks like some really kind of slanderous allegations about arson and a female staffer I don't think Hollywood could have written a TV drama that would have played on any worse than this did for that school. It's a shame. Okay, we accept that. Let's talk about what the road ahead looks like. You have a new president coming in in May. The old president clearly has done. This was his final major act. You have an athletic director that literally has not been heard. You have a general now who is apparently the aide de camp of the president who ran this investigation, and then you have a head football coach who was hung out to dry and it's not like he has a lot of momentum. He's not coming off of a good year. He's coming off of a disaster. So what does all of this tell you about what happens next? Well, now Paul they just painted themselves in a corner. For all the reasons you just said, the AD appears to be invisible and I read today has 11 months left on his contract. I would assume that if the school was high on him, they would have already extended him. That seems to be the norm anyway. So if we accept that as the norm and he has not been extended, then you have to assume that basically he has a foot out the door and he's the guy who hired arson. I don't, I mean, I don't know what record it would take for Brian to really just shine so brightly that they couldn't get rid of him. Take 9 and three and a defeat of Alabama or ten and two, something like that? But all the tea leaves say that they've got their mind made up anyway and just didn't want to bite the bullet on the buyout this year. But it's impossible to imagine a big turnaround this year in the season and therefore about ten months from now, they will be in the very same position. I can't imagine they would go through it twice no reasonable organization to want to do that. They should have a new president by then. The new president comes in in May. Okay, so they'll have a new president and he or she, whoever that is is going to want a clean slate. And you get a clean slate by taking out that AD, take it out that coach. I assume the boosters will step up and write big checks like they did with Gus and about 12 months from now, there will be a new auburn coach. I mean, it seems so inevitable. I don't know what derails that drain. Talking to Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert can in I want to go back to what you said about the slander. Because it's one thing to put a coach on the hot seat for being a bad coach. But it appears that this stuff didn't come out of the clear blue sky. Somebody was behind it. Should the university look into that even if it rubs the wrong people, the wrong way or do you just let that go? Yeah, see, that's a very good question, Paul, because that story was very hot for about 36 hours about a week ago. And now it's complete this completely disappeared. And if there was a factual basis for that report, then I believe they would have probably had a legitimate cause for the termination and that would have gotten them away from the money obligation and they would have done it. They didn't do any of those things. And so if you, if you really want, if you really want to investigate, then you want to investigate the whole array of things that events that happen. Doesn't look like anybody's going to do that. I would say, I'm not a lawyer. But I would say the only question that remains is whether person or the other party who were accused of those things, feel like they have some kind of action and wouldn't that just be the icing on the cake, right? If somebody filed suit against arvin auburn for something like that, but I don't even know if it's possible. So let's stay with one or two more questions about lurking ahead and obviously, I know, I know, can you have alluded to this and you've said it, but. There's just there just doesn't seem to be any real hope, what could save Brian Harrison other than.

"The biggest thing. I had a guy about 1231 night pull me over. And he asked me to walk the line and I just kept my mouth shut for a minute and finally he said, have you been drinking? I go, no. I mean, you almost sound guilty when you say that and obviously he could tell I had not. But you're right. But I was driving very sloppily because it was late and I was tired and I was ready to go home. All I wanted to put me over here probably two or three times in the past three months. I love it. I give them a hard time. And they put me to the little tails that I pass it every time. But they always ask the percolations. How much you had a drink? I'm like, hey, hey, nothing to drink. I'm gonna eat my sugar. You had to drink for thinking I had something to drink. You gotta remember you're not on a talk show when you're talking to the policeman. So have they ever said, are you Daryl from the fine bomb show? No, no, no, probably put me a deal there. Yeah, I got a suggestion for the playoff deal if they ever change it. I say let's go to 8. Okay, let's go to 18s. A schools 6 automatically are in. Well, I'm sorry. Let's go to ten schools, 6 automatically in. At two wildcards for 7 8 9 ten to get in and then you'll have a total of 8 total in the playoffs. I have two awkward. They never work out great. Hey, I saw something on the Internet about it. And maybe this is just a bunch of BS. About some litigation for example, just from Tuscaloosa, regard you, taking your core, you know what? No call or on this show, well, there's only one person I can think of. That if they lay off the show, it would have a major effect on the ratings. You know who they would be? No. That would be you, okay? You're the only one. And I also used to you in a castle. Since he's blocked me, what did he say? Something after I played Larry put it out there or something there he said he'd been asked to. So there's a painter decor, said Jim, I want some litigation. And he reminded us of that. I think it would be Daryl, nobody looks for litigation, but the idea of him suing would be good for one reason, we would finally get to see him in court. Yeah, really. Nobody looks like Paul. I call the horse a deal. I called him a few days ago. Let me say this real quick about college football. Something's going to have to change, okay? But his transport portal. Because I don't care how many players get upset and want to leave. Just to buy allowing them to leave. What message is that sending to Yankee this day at Dan? His teacher, Neil, you don't get your way, you just up and go. I ain't what life is about. Okay, they're gonna have anything to learn a life lesson. Sometimes you gotta fight that person and work your way through it, okay? Maybe that's just what you gotta do, but they can not allow these 1819 20 year old kids to take over college football. And you know, and let me ask you one more thing. Martin was the only one I could think of head coach wise. That's ever been fired and probably didn't deserve to get fired. We know I got fired because we didn't want to cover smart and he just Georgia to the national championship game. Look, can you think of any other coach that's ever been terminated and really didn't want determination? Usually Daryl, a coach has put himself in harm's way for some reason. Hey, thanks for the call. Ken Smith Meyer will analyze the week.

"Welcome to back here on a Thursday afternoon. Let's get back to the calls. Appreciate all of you holding on. We talked to Ken Smith Meyer and let's check in with Spence who is in Alabama. He spents a Paul. How are you doing? We're doing great. Thank you. I'd tell you when Nate's going to retire. He'll retire when mister tells him to. I was like, that's coming anytime soon. Yeah, no, listen, there's no doubt a wife is going to play a key role in any decision just like a husband with a wife. And observing them up close as I have she seems to be enjoying it as much as him. Right. Right. The guy from call from the embargo from Decatur. You don't even realize me of not accepting the laws. Of course, I'm an Alabama fan. But take kind of a remind me of a lot of people in this country still financial Trump wanted election. Well, I think that's now the way I think we view everything. Just refuse to accept it. And come up with your own approach. The presidential election is a different situation. I mean, that was fought out in court across the country. The guy who called in earlier Fred, his logic was just it was beyond absurd. I mean, coming up with happened all the time, we've had two or three Florida play Florida state in the 96th in a rematch for the national championship. They met in the final game of the season, the LSU, Alabama. I mean, this is not the first time it's happened. And there's a reason why they call that I saw the sign outside the stadium. The CFP national championship, it doesn't matter what you did previously. Now, well, I just I just hope billboard takes a little shot of tidy denied comps down. He'll be okay. He needs one. What do you recommend for getting over that? Anything in particular or a Jack or pure grain or tall boy? I don't know. Double shot a crown royal. Okay. You know what? I wish I had one sitting right here by me, but thanks for the suggestion. How about Mike up next? Hey, my good afternoon. Mike, are you there? Good afternoon. Hey there. I consider myself lucky to be here 40 years later after Georgia. What Alabama Monday night to be the undisputed national champion of college football this year. Well, you're right about that. Championship. We beat everybody else starting a September with Clemson. We're going to take a deep breath and enjoy this and we're going to start getting ready for Dan landing in Oregon. September. The run again. Well, you know what's so interesting I felt like it was important at the time and then we lost interest in the game when Clemson started losing, but that game really loomed large. It would be if there's no way to know now, but if George had lost that game, I think the season could have taken a very precarious turn. Hey, thank you very much for the call. Fireball is up next. Good afternoon. Hey fireball, good afternoon. You're talking to me. No, he's not. He just said fireball. You're next. Hey, Paul. Hey fireball. Good afternoon. I'm a couple of years older than you. I was born in three, and I'm 69 years old. I'm a fan, I've been Alabama fan from name it. Richard Todd, back in those days. I wish these so called Alabama fans calling in and finding every kind of excuse while we love is ridiculous. And you have to factor in. I mean, there's going to be injuries. Does that make sense? Yeah, listen, that's why you recruit. You try to have depth on your team and you do it through the high school recruiting and now you do it through the transfer portal and the key injury for Alabama this year turned out to be a guy that just got there a couple of months ago. That's right. That's right. And 95% of your Alabama fans don't agree with some of the EJ who's calling this calling in and kind of and just you just can't factor in. I mean, to me, they ain't got sense God capability..

"That if and when he gets to the point, one or two conditions have to be met. Either that Jeff Bezos going off into space equivalent kind of opportunity or in his head when he says, you know what? I'm not sure I can keep contributing to making this team better. He would walk. That could just be a feeling that he has. It could be a health issue. I don't know what it is. But for him, that he will not stay in the saddle and become a caricature of himself in my opinion. One final thought on that, and we're talking to Ken Smith mar I've watched this before and I'm sure you have as well. People in similar positions in different industries. Perhaps want to walk away, but it is difficult, not so much for them, but because of the people around them, family members entourage. It is like being royalty. I saw this firsthand in several cases. Number coach Brian said, the final conversation we had with him on his final day that he wanted to leave the year earlier, but he didn't want to walk away because it was going to cost so many people their jobs. Do you think that would ever enter into the equation? My short answer is no. And I don't say no because I believe coach Saban would be insensitive to that issue. But I think he's a very logical rational smart thinker. And if you take the example you just gave right there, Paul and take it to its natural conclusion. Did Bear Bryant do the people around him a favor by hanging on to the bitter end as I've heard you talk about it before? Or leaving when he was on top and making sure that the organization successfully transitioned because that's really the way that you protect the people around you. Not just staying on until your failing and nobody wants to tell you. So my answer to that would be no that he, I believe, always always always will transition out at the time and in the way that he believes serves the best interest of the team because that is what drives him every hour of every day of every week and I believe that is what will drive him when it comes time to make a decision about retirement. Always an extraordinary conversation with the judgment expert Ken Smith Meyer can come back soon. We need more of this. So you'd be well. Okay, Paul, always good to talk to you. We'll see ya. You got it. Ken Smith our joining us, so we have other guests later on..

"And it showed up in the SEC championship game. They absolutely rolled them. And I think they acquitted themselves while Monday night. They just got B 5 better team. That's not very complicated. When you talk about that, the character part of it explain a little more in terms of how obviously you made the observation. But what does that entail? So Paul, here's one of the things that I've learned about Alabama over the last few years. Everybody knows they recruit great talent. Well, there's a bunch of schools that recruit great talent and the recruiting services tell us about their four stars in the 5 stars. That's all fine. But the key for talent is not only do you have it, but can you exercise it at moments of pressure when it counts? So to put it in football terms, if I have two wide receivers who are fabulous and one of them is a high character guy, one of them is not. Then when it's third and ten and my team has to have a first down, I'm throwing to the high character guys. It's no guarantee he will catch it, but the odds are higher. Because the low character guy will tend to make mistakes under pressure. Maybe he cuts the root short, or maybe he just doesn't remember. He goes outside and he was supposed to go inside. High character guy won't do that. And I think Alabama has a history of not only finding great talent, but finding a high percentage of guys who can make maximum utilization of that talent when it matters. And you saw that auburn, right? And can there be a higher character guy than Bryce young? You see him in crunch time. But again, that doesn't mean that a high character guy is going to succeed every single time. It just means that the odds are in their favor. And I think that's one of coach Saban's strength. His ability to not only identify talent, but to identify the guys who are going to bring that talent to bear when the chips are on the table. Ken Smith Meyer with us the judgment expert Ken, let me get to Saban, it's hard to listen to a broadcaster talk about him nowadays without mentioning the obvious championships, but they also bring up his age and that is one of these things that in life it seems to be a negative. He has seemingly turned it into a positive. He jokes about his age now. I guess when you hit 70, you either embrace it or you ignore it, discuss that part of the Nick Saban equation and what it means as we turn the page on another season looking to the future. It's funny you say that about him joking about a Paul. I caught that during one of his press conferences, 20 said something about why I am 70. So maybe I have dementia, but I don't think I do or something like that. It wouldn't have said that a few years ago. But in my opinion, he's not going anywhere. I don't know if I've used this phrase and you show before or not Paul, but on the island of Okinawa and you're an amateur historian like me. So you know that name really well. They don't believe in the concept of retirement. But they have a situation in life. It's called ikigai. People can look it up. It's AI. And when you're in the mode of that, you're doing something that you like or love. You're doing something that you're good at. You're doing something the world once or needs. And you're doing something that you can make a living from. And when you're at that station in life, why would you possibly retire? What would you find that would replace such a thing, such a feeling? Another way to think about a Paul, the ancient Greeks, used to talk about solar ishing, and they had a word board to us called eudaimonia. And I would say, David is blur wishing right now. So when somebody is flourishing, what do you replace that with? I suppose if all of a sudden, college football said, you know what? This mass can't go on and we're going to merge all of our teams into one big college version of the NFL. And we want to hire Nick Saban to run it for us. Okay. That might pull him out. But that's not happening. As far as you and I know. So I think he is absolutely flourishing in his role right now. The team is going to be right back in it next year and any of these Bama fans are getting ready to jump off a cliff just because they lost this year or nuts. And I don't think Saban's going anywhere. You know him well enough to understand his work ethic and this part of the equation. But you've also seen a lot of people in industry. Nobody quite like him because there isn't anybody that like him. But how do other whether it's a CEO or sometimes there are age requirements or are there other people that you've experienced or even studied? How do they deal with age and when is the right time to leave? It's so hard to judge Paul. Let's take an example. Let's take Jeff Bezos from Amazon to follow up on what I just said about Steven. I think Bezos is worth like $200 billion, you know? He built Amazon literally from nothing. Well, what lowered him away? Well, apparently flying in space was what it took. You know? Getting on a spaceship to go and outer space was what it took to get him away from Amazon. And I bet you he's got a bunch of other things in his mind that he wants to go do. And so he walked away, you know? But again, stable is not going to walk away if there is not some sort of moonshot equivalent to what happened with just Bezos. Now the risk is, if you don't walk away in time that things go bad. I grew up in St. Louis, my favorite baseball player was bob Gibson number 45. And I remember how painful it was to watch Gibson keep going out there every year and failing because he just didn't have it anymore. I don't see that in Saban. I think he's too smart. I think he has an appropriate level of pride in what he does. And I can tell you, Paul, the first time that I met him, when he was considering whether or not he was going to hire me as a consultant. I sat in his office. He looked at me. I'd never met him before. He didn't crack a smile and he said, tell me what it is you do that can help.

"The pride passion then pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul find bomb show hour one podcast. And welcome in. It is Thursday and we are rare to go here as we continue and we'll get to some headlines. We have a couple of really interesting things for you a few minutes about how others around the country are perceiving what we do here. I'm talking about the callers to the show in the aftermath of Monday night. Let's get right to some headlines and Jameson Williams declaring for the draft. This was expected even though some wondered would the ACL injury change his thinking? He's a projected high pick. He's expected to recover in time for next season, but what happens after that? So the threat is here, the college football season, what happens next? Is it going to all work out? We'll talk to one of our featured guests in a few minutes about the future of the college football season, whether it's gotten to regional or not. We rather like it down here. In coaching carousel, is it over or does Jim Harbaugh started all over again? The Michigan job would be plumb haba expected to be wooed by a number of NFL clubs. Look at Sam. The bam pitman. That's not really true, but he's the fan favorite for the Paul Bryan award. He's got those shades. Pitman's going to make some money in the off season after a spectacular year. Give him the cash. Let's talk about what we are going to do over these next few hours, a number of guests will be dropping in. Stephen a Smith, actually, that's not correct. Stephen M Smith, the mood in tea town. Pete daml. Am I reading that correctly? ESPN college football reporter, I am reading that correctly because today it was announced that Pete is joining ESPN. Nikki fargus. Great coach. Now analyst. She'll join us to talk about a huge day in the SEC. Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment man. And Peter stoddard, the Georgia man. And your phone calls at 8 5 5, two four two 7 two 8 5. Let's start with Hugh in deep gap. North Carolina. Hello, Paul. Could we spend just a minute kind of thinking about where the future is going to how it's going to play out for the greatest coach we've seen in the conference and many, many years. A lot of guys like Adolf rep and Joe Paterno and Bear Bryant. They kind of hung on longer than they probably could have should have. And the back end of their careers were not as brilliant as the mid section. And when you stop and kind of think about this, there's a quarter of a century difference in age between Kirby smart lane camp and Nick Saban. I got a feeling Nick Saban's going to pull a John Wooden and go out on top what do you think? Well, I mean, everyone wants to. It's one of the hardest things in the world to do, as you know, you having watched a lot of coaches. It is very difficult. And it is a fact after the after one of the championships, I think it was the one in 17, Sabin contemplated leaving. I don't think he did it last year. And I think it's something you have no matter who you are when you're in a high pressure environment. Usually when the music stops and the lights are dim, you think, okay, what do I want to do? Do I want to keep doing this? And you don't know. I mean, we assume a lot of it all has to do with when the process begins. And I for one, I began to think about this. I can see long after coach Saban's in his rock and chair clip in coupons. Kirby smart lane kiffin and Lincoln rally still in the mad hunt for national championships. So the bottom line for me is, if you're a dedicated Alabama fan, you better really appreciate what you got, because it ain't going to last forever. One more thing and this kind of came to me listening to ledge in the last couple of days. You know, he's kind of like that character from all in the family. Archie bunker, except he doesn't have the warm quality that Archie would manifest when Edith would poke, man. And I think about that sum, that tension is one of the reasons you have such a great audience because if everybody made perfect sense and was polite, who the hell would care about? Stupid behavior of some of your favorite callers that set you apart, Paul, and let's hope they keep it up. I don't really give a damn what anybody thinks about it. Thank you. Appreciate it. And speaking of that, in a couple of minutes, we're going to play a clip. We don't do this very often. But the Brad legend. Conflict on Tuesday made some the number one sports show in Boston the next day. And then the legend called yesterday made it as well as today. So we're going to recapture a famous talk show in Boston in a few minutes that has apparently found us down here in the Deep South. And we will let you hear what others are saying about us in just a couple of minutes. Daryl is up next in Georgia. Hello Daryl. Hey Paul, first, I want to make a porn. Okay, I thought about this. If you going back, looking at Georgia this year, we've opened a season against number three Clinton. They gave up zero touchdowns. We played number two, Michigan and orange bow. The VPS gave up one touchdown. We played Alabama for the next championship game. The deepest gave up one touchdown. And all three of those games, the defense also scored two touchdowns..

"The pride passion then pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul Fein bomb show our four podcast. And we have made it to the final hour. It's been a memorable Veterans Day, the general will join us in a few minutes we'll reflect back on this important day with a general balls. Right now, let's get back to the calls and Carter is in Chattanooga. Hello Carter, good afternoon to you. Hey, Paul. How are you doing? Me and my dad loved me and my dad loved your show. We went to do it every day. Thank you, very how old are you, Carter? 11 years old. Well, that's a great age. Well, thank you for saying that. Where will you be set up this Saturday at the Georgia Tennessee game? Yeah, we will be in front of air as hall, which is at the top on the hill, which overlooks Neil and stadium. All right, that's where we're going to be. We'll look for you. Well, I can't wait. I hope you say hello and we get a chance to talk. All right, I can ask one more question. Sure. Do you think Jordan Davis will have a chance within the husband that you I think it's possible? Right now the Heisman is wide open and everything he'll do from now on will be on a big stage, especially this weekend. And I think he certainly not the favorite because of the position he plays, but I do think he's got a reasonable chance Carter of being a finalist. Hey, thank you for the call. We'll see you Saturday morning. Larry is up next. Hello, Larry. Hi. What's up? How are you doing? We're doing great, Larry. I know, I understand. I do especially man. I got a fan of mine. You don't mind. A fireball and he's got 5 more on 5 powerful cancer. We allow the other house to allow us to see all my family say a little purple and remark. But well, thank you for saying that. Thank you, Paul. But anyway, I'll back. That's pretty good. I'm glad I got that on TV. And read it, you know, because I can't understand it. But anyways, I remember when he said Rambo was going to go run all over the running back and he got hate John down here. Why was that running back to good back when George and I were playing, you remember? Early. Right. So, yeah, man. But anyways, rolls out, I will have a tough time of Saturday but I think we'll be okay. I think you're okay. Well, listen, Larry, thanks for everything. I hope you have a great Veterans Day. I'm glad you mentioned your friend and what both of you did for our country. Thank you following God bless you, man. Thank you, Eric. Good to hear from you. Brian is up next in Amarillo, a hello Brian. Hey, Paul, how's it going? We are doing great. Thank you very much. Oh, good. I'm glad to be on the show today. And to be able to visit a little bit with you about a and M, I tended there from 68 to 73 and my dad was class 41 part of that. But a lot of people don't realize this about Texas a and M is that it really was all male stool, a.m. means agricultural mechanical. So most of the students were there for agriculture and mechanics, which kind of dissuaded women from going there. And that was a problem for our football team. In fact, the a and E I'm graduate the second most largest class of military offices in U.S. right behind army at West Point. And so our football team was a lot like arming was. We weren't winning this championship. But I just wanted to say that. And of course, I think Jimbo Fisher is probably going to be as well loved as RC stallings. They're brought actually before it's all over with and he's done a tremendous job. How is it they often gain this weekend and it was clearly a classic game for a and E and I just appreciate being on the show, just let you know that people think that a and M was like the University of Texas, we're not. We have a really rich tradition of military history and we really weren't as athletic that much back to the old days. And it wasn't until about 2000 and we really started winning a lot of ball games. But anyway, that's all I had to say Paul. And I wanted to thank you for letting me out. Thank you very much for calling. You'd be well. Let's continue with Lanier. Is up next in Charlotte, a hello linear. Hey, Paul. Love to show. Thank you. I don't get to watch the whole thing every day, but I really like the interview with Smith Meyer. Is that his name? Yeah, Ken Smith Meyer. Yeah. This change from coach power to player power. I was thinking about the nil, name image and likeness and here's Bryce young is already a millionaire. Is that correct in 19 years old? Well, yes. And reported that Nick Saban said, so it's no secret that he has an anti all deal close to 7 figures. Well, my issue is, I've always been a post to this NL. I would rather have seen them offer the kids a financial stipend to play rather than open it up to the economics of our country that's so greedy sometimes. And I'm thinking of 19 to 21 year olds having to make decisions with $1 million and we have coaches who can't handle power very well. How are 19 to 22 is going to handle power like this? Well, it would be impossible. I mean, I've seen growing people as you have come into a job that pays them significant amount of money or at least more than they were making. They don't deal with it very well. I have no earthly idea. I couldn't balance a checkbook until I got married and somebody else helped me with it. I'm with you there. Thank you. You know, are you concerned to me about the future of college football honestly? Because you've got 1922 year olds. If that's true, if they're the I mean, you have, I would say a, an authoritative figure like Nick Saban and many others. I mean, football is very militaristic, as you know. And you run a locker room a certain way. And suddenly you can't do that because if you upset that player, he may be in the transfer portal, by the time. The by the time the coach goes back to the locker room. And it's a very dangerous thing. And I think we all knew this would affect college. But while we're seeing some signs of it, I don't think the autopsy has really been done yet. Because we're in the middle of a season, but there are a lot of signs out there right now, and I think so that in terms of Nick Saban talking about the fragile nature of that team, four of 5 star talent, and you can you imagine what it's like when you when you don't have that many people that are talented and you're dealing with maybe one or two. Thank you very much for the call. We want to stop here, so we have enough time to speak with general balls..

"And on down the list, it really provides a detailed window into the way that different athletic departments balance sheets work. Daniel libet, with a deep dive on some of the things that we've always suspected that this is a big time business. Daniel, thank you so much. Come back soon. Thanks for having me on Paul. Thank you. The best business sports reporter out there, Daniel libert will take a break. Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert, and in the final hour, retired general Vincent bolles, remembering Veterans Day. You were listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. We welcome you back. And Ken Smith fired joining us in the next hour, Daryl is up next in Georgia. Total wall. Hey there, Daryl. No, when Veterans Day comes around, I always think about my days back when I was a marine and I always, it always goes back to Iraq and we got ambushed and taken fire from a sniper on our right blank, kill one rain. I had a buddy across over the road. And we found a cyber and kill the sniper and he come back and he ended up getting hit by RPG and he killed him. He ended up getting the silver star, which is the third highest award you can get in combat and just, you know, most respect all our veterans, all those that have served in our half served in our served. I mean, nothing is blown up. In this country, since 9 11, and there's a reason for that and it just, you know, much appreciation for what all of them guys do. Paul, now we'll talk a little bit about Tennessee and Georgia. I went and watched the Kentucky Tennessee game Paul. What is going to say doing so great a lot is I saw Kentucky missing a lot of tackles. I saw Kentucky details not having their eyes in the right place. That's not going to happen with Georgia. Let's not go because this defense is only mission. They have got to win this game, because they need us on their resume to go undefeated in the conference, which hasn't been done since 1982 for Georgia to be considered one of the greatest defenses of all time. And I just, they're not going to make they're not going to miss tackles like that against Tennessee. It is not going to happen the big dog is going he will consider to Paul. I know you not want to hear this, but it's not going to be smoky, okay? It's not going to be smoky. It's going to be over. And let me say one more thing. I heard yesterday with someone, Joe's iPhone, or whatever his last name is. As coach of the year, why? Just to just be, this will be their real philosophy here. The whole thing gets a year because why, you got blown up, Florida? Usually blown up by Georgia. I mean, what is what has changed? I mean, you're 75, you're 6 mistakes or 75 or 6 and 6. You're still Tennessee, and hey, as far as Florida goes, and then there's only two type coaches that go to flora. Those equipment and those that get fired. I don't know which category damn Muller is going to end up being. But we will find out, but it's just a matter of time for he's out of there. Maybe to the NFL, probably the weekend. Who knows? And start a Tennessee coach call. You know, stay there. As soon as the Oklahoma job comes available, here we all eventually. You know he's going to say like all the other coaches there. He would get fired early in the country, Oklahoma. But to this thing, just keep bumping him down. I can not wait to say it he gets here. I can not wait till we get to the end. And the big deal is going to. Never heard that call before. Houston is calling next. Hey Houston. Yes. Wow, hey. Take my cow. My suit, I've been out, I've been trying to get through for an hour and a half. Nap it all for 22 minutes. Well, I'm glad you made it. Yeah, I'm here. Way too much time invested to just let this thing go. Hey. That one guy that fell in. That's something that was Colin Elliot. I was talking about a Jimbo leaving now. Doing how about now? Is irrelevant? This is Jimbo's rearview. We don't care about that. That guy was acting like Bo have something to fear with pictures and that LSU is a better out. Why would you leave the kingdom of Texas on Peter the universe? Well, the athletic director did what woody was about now. Maybe I understand you went to school at LSU, but he still left. I know a lot of people that went to school places that doesn't mean they necessarily go back. That's true, but guess what? Jimbo is building an empire here, fellas, so let's look at that. He's putting it building the empire fell. And that's the thing with college football right now. Everybody wants instant gratification, but you got to put the work in to get where you want to be. Well, you have to remember Jimmy. He's already won a national championship, so it's not like he's got anything to prove he's beaten Nick Saban. He's had a pretty good run. Hey, thank you for the call. Didn't convince me, but I'm glad you called anyway. Lance is up next to hello Lance good afternoon. Hey, good afternoon. How you doing? We are well. Thank you. Just real quick. Well, first of all, I want to give a shout out to the veterans. I'm a veteran myself. I just want to wish everyone a happy Veterans Day to the men and women that served our country. Thank you. And along with that, so we've heard a lot of talk about Jimbo fish. So I'm gonna take Zayn and fan. And as far as him leaving, I really don't think he would leave for the simple fact that last caller said, he has this so he built an empire. I wouldn't go as far as to say that. But he is that team on the right trend moving in an upward trajectory, which I think is very important for the state of Texas. And with that being said, there are no longer the Texas longhorns little brother. They are standing on their own two feet and they're doing very well in the SEC. I know we had two losses this year. But with that being said, no one is scared or frightened about Oklahoma or Texas coming in to the SEC. Okay, if Jimbo does leave, which I don't think he will, why would you want to go and try to spend another three, four, 5 years possibly to build up a very, very desecrated L is new program to try to bring them back to prominence, which may not actually take place. What are your thoughts on that, Paul? Yeah, I will tell you, I do not understand it, and you can not convince me that I'm going to leave my home where I or my family lives where the people have treated me like a king, and I've already accomplished a great deal to go follow my buddy who's the AD there. I mean, this is not high school. This is the big leagues and there has to be there has to be more to it than that. And having spent time 6 days ago in College Station, I didn't sometimes you go someplace, and you know it's toxic. You know it's over. There's a place in particular that maybe leaning toward that. But College Station is not it. That place is ascending. It's not going the opposite direction. We'll take a break. Two more hours to go..

"The pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the qualifying bomb show hour two podcast. And good afternoon, welcome on this Veterans Day. We certainly will be spending a lot of time talking about the service to this country by so many of you and we appreciate you being a part of the program. We have a lot to do today some guests, including a retired general. And your phone calls at 8 5 5 two four two 7 two 8 5. Let's get right to it. And talk about what is going on with the dogs and the volunteers, Tennessee expected to score a lot. That is really the question. It's all about hinden hooker who was not the starter when the season began, but he is the main cog right now in the Tennessee machine as Georgia worries about that. Meanwhile, and leach, achieve success in very different ways. These two are very dissimilar. In some ways they are similar. They meet on Saturday early morning at Jordan here. The aggies preparing for a one game season versus old mist. This is probably the headliner in the SEC this week in terms of ranked versus ranked. So we have miserably state auburn. That's the early game. South Carolina mizu Kentucky Vanderbilt, Georgia Tennessee a and M almost and how about that one at night? Arkansas and LSU. That's the boot game, isn't it? Some other news, Yukon. Has gone where no one else would. They hired Jim Moore, a former UCLA coach former Seattle coach. He was out of work, can you say he's back in the back end business now since he got you, by the way, for the record, I turned that job down. Meanwhile, Mike, resco, I don't know about you, but when Michael esco talks, I turn the channel. He's become the motormouth of college football. Anyway, I could take that back. Sporter Coe's got a cool story about the financial aspects of college football and we will talk to the writer of that Daniel limit, just a little bit later in the show. So again, a lot to do on this Veterans Day. It is Thursday. Let's share with you who will be joining us. Scott rabelais starts it off from Baton Rouge. We'll get his thoughts on the Ed O conundrum as well as Jimbo really in consideration there. The aforementioned libet, Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert. Now what has gone wrong in Florida and retired major general Vincent balls will join us in the final hour. And your phone calls the first hour. As we say hello to John in Louisville, hey, John. Hey, great show yesterday. And by the way, you can never take back your monologue in nor should you. I don't really enjoy it. I don't want mica rescue to get the wrong idea that I'm being unkind to him. I just frankly like him very much. We've been friends, but the more he talks about Cincinnati, the less credibility he has. Oh my gosh, just give him their participation award and move on. Anyways, great interview with not her, that Kirk herb straight you always modify your interviews for the particular guest and you did a well there and he knocked it out of the park at the end of the interview. Yeah, I thought the end, I thought the end there was really brilliant. When he talked about LSU in Florida and what has gone wrong. And the culture. And before I ask you a question on iceman, I do want to salute the veterans, I know Larry served in Vietnam as I recall. And the 95 year old Herald from Atlanta, I think was involved with the Balboa and I've got to put my twin brother in there too. He flew for the Marine Corps and was involved in the first Gulf War. He has a lot of carrier stories. Well, I'm glad you said that. Yeah, I think we all on a day like that I think about relatives and friends and I used to always as a kid want to hear my dad's stories. He was in the Pacific theater. During World War II, my uncle flew missions over Germany during World War II. I mean, those are those are the things John that you would love to have back. And you also wish you had spent maybe a little more time listening as opposed to jabbering as a kid, but those are priceless stories. They're leaving us much too soon. So my question on Heisman, obviously some of the well-known candidates at the beginning of the season like the quarterback at Oklahoma and Georgia probably will be playing another year to get NFL credibility. But as I see it right now, it seems like Bryce young is a good candidate particularly as well, Mac carrell. What do you see as the top three at this point of the season? I think those are both in there and I think both are waiting for a moment. I think beyond that, the quarterback from Pitt is under consideration. I don't. He has a big game tonight. So he'll have an opportunity on a big stage against North Carolina. I think Caleb Williams is the one I'm keeping my eye on. He's the new starter in Oklahoma. He plays in big games every game they have now will be big. So if he performs well, I think he has a really interesting shot. That would be the story of the year when you consider he was the backup quarterback behind the Heisman favorite. And can you imagine if he ended up winning the Heisman? You better mention the Cincinnati quarterback too if you want to get my I think he should finish 5th, just like Cincinnati is ranked in the polls. Are you man? Thank you. Yeah, but yeah, as we say in the trade, you know, he deserves it. He deserves a trip to New York. Let's talk to James who is next. Paul has heard decided if we're going to be able to have a season this year or not. I do remember that now. Yeah, he was. He was okay with it. He seems like he is, yes. Okay, well, I'm glad to hear that. Paul, let me say this. My father like yours was also a World War II there..

"Listen, this is to tell the truth mind me, baby. In a park is just old yeller. The truth is the Atlanta Braves are going to climb the mountain. You get to the door, reach for the door, trip and post their kids out on the doorknob because that's where people who sport cheese do in a single Georgia. This is the town of true London right here, baby. And the Georgia board allows them Atlanta brains are just delightful. There are difficult in your life, baby. And the truth is, I've already heard it. I got sources in the program telling me. This invent Bennett owns the locker room. The team is behind stenson Bennett. You got no great receivers. Your best receiver is a walk on. I'm sorry. You just don't have to playmakers at the end of the day to deal with Alabama to deal with Ohio State or deal with Oklahoma. Ask the purple people eaters of the minnesotan Vikings who had Alan page John Marshall and a dominant and couldn't win a championship. Because they couldn't score enough. Kirby smart is still light years behind when it comes to catching up and the office of game and it'll cost Georgia at the end Paul. Now here's another truth for you, baby. Coach hairline down at all this looking good, but it's still creep off. There's still a treat. And here's another two important call. Any playoff committee that puts sensibility and you tell me if you agree with me. Any playoff committee that Cincinnati and the top four is going to have absolutely no respect from people and fans in America. Do you agree with that or not? I agree, legend, but I've watched this charade over the years, and I think they will tomorrow, but I don't think they will at the end if things go according to play. Hey, thank you for the call. Appreciate it. Frank is up next. Hey, Frank, you're on the air. Hey, Paul, how are you doing today? We are well. Thank you. That was pretty nice of legend to reference the purple people. Oh, yeah, for our fans up here in Minnesota. Absolutely. For that. But grant would be proud. Yeah, thankfully but still kicking, but he's getting up there. Is he still around? That's amazing. I'm glad to hear that. Yeah, early 90s, but still doing all right. I'm glad to hear. Just wanted to weigh in Paul on the Dan Mullen situation. Yeah, what do you think? Well, you guys had a great guest on last week that talked about leadership. And that time made a really fascinating, interesting comment when he said something on paraphrasing, but something to the fact that leaders often have a blind spot for their blind spot. Right. To me, that Dan Mullen, his blind spot is he doesn't handle pressure very well. And his blind spot is he doesn't understand that weakness. So as he goes along his behavior week the week gets very inconsistent, he gets very defensive, very prickly. His press conference has become terrible. And he just digs himself deeper and deeper into his own situation with his behavior. He really can't get out from under his own his own way at times. Yeah, that was Ken Smith Meyer, who said that, and it really is one of the most interesting things I was. It really was. That was very good, but it made me think about Mullen.

"That saving made January eight figure I take with Stephen and I said that after the game. Yeah. After the game. No, there's no way I said that after the game all you did run the Tate. Well, you know, I got news for you. Okay. I'm pretty good student of what I say and what I don't say and I can tell you flat out when I was on, I take the day after the show, the day after the I did not say that Albama was the better team. There's not a chance in a million, I said that because stink flea said how badly Nick Sabin was out coached, how outclass they were. And you have to start to question where this. The program currently is so but I appreciate you reminding me what I said. Yeah. And I'm in Charlotte. I'll take you the lunch if I'm wrong. But time you don't have to take me to lunch because I'm, I'm whatever I said that day I can tell you right now Clemson has the better program overall. So you can hang your hat on January eighth or or June twelfth. Is it take your pick? But thank you very much for the call. Ben is in Conway, Arkansas. Hey, Ben greeting tuto's professor find bomb and saying goes for your newly reconstituted staff. All I wanna be serious here at the outset, I think that Devo Sweeney is receiving undue, criticism, and I'd like to say why if he had said after Clemson beat Alabama, if he had said, we took down Alabama, like, oh, Salva, some of in Lodden took down the world trade towers, that would have been insensitive and subject to criticism in are overly sensitive. Politically correct times. His comment should not have aroused any real criticism in my opinion. I don't see anything wrong about it because he was making a comparison between having to hide out in caves, and go through back channels, which was what Osama bin Laden did too, you know, jokingly reference to how he has to get into Alabama to recruit, and I'd like your, your comment on. Well, I think I think, you know, my comment on that I found the comments to be insensitive. I I'm not saying anything more than that, because I just think when you're talking about a subject like, oh, Salva bin Laden, you, bring a lot of negative connotations together. Never I've heard from many people that's people who served in Afghanistan, I understand all the points of view. And I'm not saying mine is right? And yours is wrong. But I think I think Daboh Sweeney has just gotten so full of himself that he made a mistake in offering that comment. I don't really believe debo Sweeney, things like that. But he, he starting to think that he's bulletproof he beaten saving twice. And I think he let that hubris get to him when he said what he did. Polish on. I disagree with those you and Ken Smith Meyer on this matter, I think Daboh has become a target, and I'm not saying that you or Smith, my or anybody else is charge. Then he's the one who is and we're not just looking under rocks and going into caves. We found that this article popped into our lap yesterday. It's three months old fact that he said it, and all I did was react, all Ken did was react. But the thing about Ken Smith Meyer, is it can about a month ago made some comments that he wasn't sure Dabbagh was ready to handle everything that is coming his way. And I think Ken Smith Mayer has been validated in, in those remarks. I understand what you're saying, and I followed this, the context of all it is, what I am saying is, I believe that Daboh is simply getting more criticism than he deserves because he has become the type. And size of one more thing he first of all that, that comes with the territory band, there's no doubt when you when you win the national championship two out of three years. When you're when you're the highest paid coach in college football. The attention is going to rain down. And I really think that's the issue for Sweeney. He plays the role very well..

"And he was widely criticized for, but, but he was he was trying to make a comparison. And it was a terrible when by the way, and we all said so at the time this, this to me is a little bit different. And I mean because he's putting himself in there. And no, I cannot I cannot imagine Nick saving doing something this, this off. More. It was just absolutely poor judgment. And like I said it took me down and notch to I'm with you one hundred percent. And I. I'm still a fan of debt. I mean you know, I, I mean, I've got some theories on it, and I think Ken Smith Meyer head some as well. But I mean sometimes it can be too much too soon. That's right. Well, my advice to them, Bo is to keep your mouth shut and just coach football. And the only other thing I want to say before going off is the guy that called in about the risk restaurant. You know what I think I, I don't know if you remember the story, I told you about of the old black gentleman that let my girlfriend go into his house goes to the bathroom. Right. Then it's the Alabama that I'm no okay? Hey, listen. Thank you for the call, Jerry, great to hear from you again. We have been talking about this dabbler Sweeney situation. Oklahoma, first of all, thanks for having me, appreciate it. But you know much like you I saw these comments for the first time last last night on Twitter. I saw it on Twitter from South Carolina, Santa count. I said to myself, surely, Davos, not say this. I saw from another South Carolina fan. Then I start seeing Georgia fans getting riled up about it. Jim, I think maybe you talked him into wanting to take this assessment that yes, I did remember that. And so you put us in touch via Email, and I wrote Jim very serious note, which I do with people. Jim, look, I'm glad to do this. But I want you to know something this is not placed off. This is not make believe this is a this is a scientific tool that I use. It's very sensitive often sort of opens up windows into person that, you know, maybe they don't necessarily want opened up, and I just want you to know that before you take it never heard a word all never were which you know, I think says more about him that does about me. Well, John, and I did take the test. It's a very difficult experience. But it's very rewarding. Because you really sometimes you don't wanna know. Sometimes you do want to know about about yourself. And I learned a lot about myself in talking to you afterwards. And I was hoping not to upstage what we're talking about here. But I was hoping that Jim could learn from it and can I Pol Josh for this? But since I brought it up he is Jim called. And maybe maybe he's on the what we need to do guys. Jim. We are you willing. What is it about you that causes you feel a need to always make your point there? You don't get enough. Typical lift that you are lifted PU you I don't have any need to do anything. I do. I do what I feel like doing. I say what I feel like compared to say. And I do it. I say it. I'm like top. You know, what my politics are what I can tell you. 'cause no is no look you guys are easily spotted your opinion always has. Has not entail your left 'cause you're liar. Twiss gym where you ever. By sticking low-life educated at what you are. My view. I don't have time for you. Jim Jim may I ask you a question for through? Can quickly. Let me ask you this hung up. When you ask them ever the service. Yeah. I don't think he was Paul. I don't I don't know that for a fact, but I'm still falling. He'd be one more point for Jim to consider before you, and I move on to something more and more important. Yeah..

"Let's talk about the times they have played. We know they played for four straight years. Right. Yeah. When did they play other than the last four years? It wasn't though it was about another coach. Yeah. Tommy Bowden near the coach. Oh, yeah. But we all we're going on man. They're saying mass Yao starting about an area areas. Foreign it's doing to overall. And maybe I'm missing the game. Maybe I'm not. But I do know one thing in national championship games. It's Davos to save in one now. Oh, yeah. But many do we have them go trophies jet. I mean, if you wanted to see Larry how many of you one this year? Well, we know about this you two thousand nine they we don't can about that. That's over. We're talking on the issue. This question. Border. They'll just lying. I know he do with his losses his him babies. And that's what I'm nice start doing to control Mary. Let me ask you question over the next five years. Which coach saving or dabuma? Do you think will win the most national championships? Oh, right down all the while by the I get a bunch of wrappers spray that stuff all over ever. Oh card Sabin, man. Really? Yeah. Larry, Larry, I hate to disagree with you. But you are not the best right now. You are number two. I shake it out. We will be. Will be in. What is or tutor for things today? Alabama is number two in the country behind nine on nine nine. We're badder than Clemson will better. I mean, look long haired little boy he just said that though some fifty fifty passes and love here. Little boy kick your ass. Oh, I see. Now, we're going down dipping down. I I'll get Jim back on your last. How about that? Br bring it on Jack. Yeah. Jack roll down time. The Alabama response. We'll take a break and your phone calls. Ken Smith Meyer, the judgment expert in the next hour. We'll be right back to listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. We're back. Glad you're here. Let's continue with more phone calls at eight five five two four to seven to eight five. And wasn't. Steve is up next eve head what school finebaum. Hey there. Guard from Georgia. He's a bigger home of the new man that Mike Grissom. Bigger Homer than me is possible. See I I was shocked my we're we're all the hate for Georgia. When they have a math to this out there. Is there a script on my supposed to be reading something back? I'm somewhat lost here. Because usually Steve the way a talk show works. We go to a caller. And he makes a point. You haven't made a point yet? Nor will you ever marry is in Birmingham. Hello mary. Paul. I am not like the other album offensive been on the show today. I really wanted to compliment the coach it Clinton. I didn't know much about Devo and wondered if that was a nickname or something. What is it? That was what I heard he told the story, and I'm trying to remember the the the Genesis of dab. Oh, give me a second. I'll save there. It's there's a there's a reason why they call him. Okay. Well, I was really brother was trying to call them that that boy is that right? And it came out dab Daboh. Funny. Well, he is he is very likeable. I don't hate Clinton. They'd beat Alabama. I mean, I'm Alabama fan since birth. I guess, but anyway, I just think he showed so much, you know, his faith in God, he talked about that with insp-, actually. And the interview when he you know, won the national championship. And so proud of those boys, and I know they're they're a better team than we are. I'm not making excuses at all felt sorry for our players. They got beat. And you know wonder you know, what happened, but it is football. And it is a game we make it so important. I know it is important in the south. But I just really felt like devas Leany. It was his time to shun and his players, and they they beat Alabama and whether your correct about Mary. And I'm glad to dabble is a genuine person Noah moderately. Well, and everything he says is who he is Tim is up next in Charleston, Tim, go right ahead. Hey, Paul, thanks for taking my call.

"I'm thinking of monster, buck and the swamp refuge over. Yes. You said he. But if Jim knows so much about football. Why isn't he owned the team teacher in the sixty one to sixty two in the sixty three Tuscaloosa high school football team are the baseball pitcher because he wasn't born in nineteen eighty-five fool. That's right. A little. Well. Robert in Texas, you're on the air. Paul how they're. Thank you for taking my call. Sure. My topic. And I wanted to get your opinion on as as a positive suggestion rather than speculating about ACC versus e versus big twelve. Wouldn't it be good? If all the commissioners, the power five for mixtures got together and said, we're gonna do where we're gonna make an effort and all of our non conference scheduling top to bottom like a Mississippi State, maybe Jimmy could play South Carolina next year. Like they the bowl game do top to bottom scared in Mississippi State versus Virginia Tech pity versus Mississippi do a lot of cross conference scaling get rid of the cupcakes and all the conferences, wouldn't it's go a lot further. And so we wouldn't have to speculators much toward the end of the year. Yeah. But trying to get these commissioners to agree on anything other than which Bank to put their payoff in is pretty difficult. Let me give you an example and basketball every year. I think it's pretty traditional. Now. They'll be like a big there's a big pan ACC basketball letter type invitational. And now, you know, they pretty well. Go down pretty will go down the four five deepen each conference plan. You hit head basketball games. I realized I little impractical and put ball. But I at least thought that. If he gets rid of its cupcake weekend, and maybe play some ACC things are big twelve teams. And vice I I think with all the not all the non power five non conference game for throwing away and other power five conference opponents were put in I think you'd get a lot better interconference feeling what's going on. And not the way I'll end this. How to fill the get beat by two mode again. Good point. Hey, thanks freesheet that we are up against a break. Ken Smith Meyer who Jim is called an idiot. Will join us in the next hour. I'm sure Ken will be thrilled to hear that more of your phone calls when we come back. Listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Technology truth brought to you by.
