"It doesn't burn itself out and we've seen that all of the country, the obvious comparison being Kenosha where a somewhat reluctant governor. Did Bring in National Guard, you know small amounts at first. But when he finally put enough people there after some more violence happened the president had urged him to do so. Peace broke out and has remained in Kenosha This is the peace through strength. Concept that Ronald Reagan made famous in international relations simply applied to domestic tranquility and that's the goal, the goal, the president. So the goal of many people but apparently not the mayor of Portland or the governor of Oregon to achieve peace. So let's talk about Wisconsin here for a second If you watch that video and I'm not saying this kid should have gone down there but that is what people do I mean you know it's crazy that. We were just talking about it right and so people show up because they don't see the government doing their job and defends them, and so they show up to help out their fellow American right and isn't this kind of thing? Isn't this just happened in Charlottesville? I mean the. Were there and the left decided to show up to stop it, and that caused the problem and those of course were the good guys according to the media. Now somebody shows up and says A. We got at least protect to these businesses et CETERA. He's a bad guy. But that said I, I wouldn't have had my son there and I would be really upset if my kids went to that. However he the video looks like it was self defense especially with all of the other video showing this guy really trying to jump him several times. And the left his acting like it it like none of that matters and they're saying look first degree murder Ken. How are they charging this kid with first degree murder? Well first of all, they did it. So quickly that you knew they were just slapping on a charge..

"Caesar is one of those things that could follow it if if present trends continue especially without president trump and his closest allies fighting them. I think the country as we've known, it could break and then something has to follow and that Caesar is and Co could be one of those things and Caesar Ism could. Emerged from either side, it's easier to Imagine Caesar ISM coming from the blue side the democratic side just because they have all of the commanding heights powerful institutions in America. Now, except one, the White House which they're determined to get back this fall it's it's harder to imagine a path for a Caesar of the of the other side to happen but not impossible and I you. Know. I give all of the reasons and sort of speculate about how this one might happen or that when might happen just because I think no one's thinking about these things and I point the finger in particular at conservatives. You know I'm not gonNA name names necessarily but there's a strain of conservative thought which is so in love with the idea of American exceptionalism, it thinks that Nothing can ever get bad in for America for America fundamentally changed for the worse. So human possibilities that have been around since there has been mankind. You know the fall of Republics, tyrannies, civil wars, things like that. We don't even have to think about them in America because they can't happen here anymore and I think that's foolish and somebody needed to begin the conversation about happens if it does get bad enough and so I I stuck my neck out and did that. So Michael Anton author of the stakes and I WanNa talk to you about because I think we're closer to these things. Michael, than most people do I could see a breakdown on the election. It's already going to happen with the Democrats saying mail in votes it'll be days before we know that will be a shock to the system and it will probably will end that night with trumping ahead then in these these. Ballots will trickle in and trickle trickle in and it will appear as a stealing. Even if he even if trump continues to hold, they are going to say look how many people are being disenfranchised. They're throwing all these ballots out because the typical number of ballots on mail-in that are thrown out is about twenty percent and they'll make this into some new scandal. I could see either side. Standing up and saying, that's not my president not my br and secession serious talk of secession where state say I'm not abiding by usage you're out of control. I worried about this too I. You know I do go into some of these election issues in the book I couldn't you know They're so vast and complicated. Entire Book about how? To do modern election fraud especially with the way these changes are taking place. So I'm foreseeing exactly the same possibility that you foresee. You know we probably won't have what we had in two thousand sixteen where by about two or three o'clock in the morning. If you're still awake, you knew who the president was going to be right. It was over and and you know days maybe optimistic it could be weeks or months. So I haven't done that famous chapter well famous it's not famous yet, but it might be in chapter seven in which I say states could succeed and this could happen from the blue left or the read write depending and I I I don't necessarily even know that you know there's two ways to talk about succession right one is actually pulling it off right because you..

"They see on TV and they're destroying the community, the the their livelihood. And they'll tell us that needs to this spun. Back is probably getting that they'd never have been a party to the left and then and more we out there like we don't right now the more they're gonNA they're gonNA understand it. So I I think there's GonNa be a big change to be honest with you and and I'll say this. I've always believed that the black community and Hispanic community and the as those minorities that we've been kind of a marginalized degree of going to be be communities that as a tool ourselves back from the best, we'll put our country back history told the black community minority communities that truly was the savage nation. 'CAUSE WE'RE GETTING IT we're waking up and as we do so the had so little power and they can't they cannot get there. Fast enough to places. So it can't get enough of towards the ballots in two places. So this will go down in history as. As as a minority those who had trouble in stimulating as being the the people that bring our country back and show the rest of the world would America we looks like. burt we're talking to Burgess Owens he is a candidate, your fourth district in Utah Right yeah. Not something. I've known you for a long time not something that you've ever wanted to do. Which? which I think you should wear that as a badge of honor Glenn we're now conversation is always about the second chance. You was all about the kids that that we all believe this is out our future and I realized that this time last year that if we don't get the house back I'll kids here in Utah around the country is not how they chance because it's always been about policies and there's we know the left the latest loves putting. Positive. Keep people miserable, dependent and hopeless, and you see that now across the country so and and we have such a good group. I'll say those are listening look at your your district. If you have got Republican is standing though for him or her support them. This is this is a very different class of individuals that are patriots. They know how to replicate a president who understands what? Leadership looks like we can change this country and such a big way by getting the house. There's more backbone and I said a lot. More years we I say we have a renaissance. Grace names will come together and we're to point out who are enemy is as each other is that hard left Muslim socialists event so much damage to so many who tries to pass..

"That's what we have to realize there's nobody exempt from it was just have to embrace it not hoard those tough times. Let people know this I I know what it looks like so As long as green big long as you hang tough and just keep up the good work keep a good things to happen. That's what it's all about. So I noticed during your speech they put last night, they started putting up to. Register to vote. Text this number. And I. Think the RNC has done the best job of reaching out to a community that they have only just kind of scratched the surface because they've never believed. It was worth the time that nobody would ever change their vote. No black person would ever vote for Republican over a Democrat. And this convention is. So different than any RNC convention, I've ever seen. Well you know what it is. We're at a point Glenn I'm I'm. Out of this. Year, but it's also a year in which the more gray we're seeing foot for the no question what they're talking about for years there's no longer hypothetical associated with Fox's looks like we still full face and we have America's cross-border can finally have conversations about what we don't want. We want light. We want we want hope we won't opportunity we don't want dark the depression. Death and destruction that we have been there and I I think that the the left just because they have no vision, they have no idea to push the. Way Too far in America people is not GONNA put up with it. So Burgess, let me ask you this I know. Some degree because I've been told what it is like to be a conservative and black. and. So many times and I had this experience being conservative in New York where people will come up and say I'm conservative to don't say anything. Is that changing in the in the black community where they're not whispering as much. Are you seeing Margaritis? A sea change it is I think the greatest the greatest president, President Obama was such a lousy president that black people find you know whatever happened hoping changed what really was the deal and we have people when I go through airports black, they win magazine we have we have a walkway campaign have the blessed that is scaring left so much they have been addicted to us but decades we're finally realizing that we walk not not just walking away with sprinting away. So no I'm excited about what's happening and for those. Who just kind of you know what I think is GonNa happen those are still don't quite understand all of the the the ways that we believe in turn out party they're realizing when they see their their homes being destroyed or they're they're the lies the the business being just up in the realizing that there's something wrong with the part they were part of, and I'll have to have more of what's like ours and that's going to continue to to move in the right direction I'm doing very, very hopeful grant what's happening across? You know it was a lot easier to make this case before Kovin. Because people were actually seeing it. Now, they're struggling again and the the black communities and it's not helping in some cities when they're burning things down to the ground antica is doing that. Is. How is the attitude towards the economy because when people are hungry? You know they they. They're hungry. Well. Here's the deal Would you have a black people who all they want is life liberty and pursuit of happiness and they see these these white-bearded. Dot Ain't people coming through with a few blacks that are with them..

Be told me that he was there both to protect the business and to make sure that anybody who needed medical aid would get it. and. He also did note the absence police incessantly for somebody to provide a degree of law or so that was knows only about to happen fashion. I. Right okay. So. You were there when he was, he didn't trip in fall he was kicked to the ground. And a guy came at him with a skateboard was going to beat him with that. Another guy came at him with a gun. I mean he he this looks like total self defense to me the juicy. Did you witness that part of the shooting to or were you with? So Actually I. was in the hospital by then. Okay. Well, heading hospital by then the shooting that I witnessed was the first shooting right the one. Playing right now and that was. When things really started I believe that the second shooting that took place right barriers natter. But after the shots were fired, people were just looking for individuals with guns to. So the or whatever? So Yvonne even the New York even the new. York. Times said in their TIKTOK that they released today that. The the guy who was shot was. Pursuing, we have him on tape as being a real antagonised to these guys. Calling him all kinds of names that we can't say on the air the N. word. CETERA ET CETERA. He was picking a fight. He had tried to jump Rittenhouse several times at least two that we know of. And when you look at what the New York Times is reporting, they're saying that and you can see it on the video tape your videotape. There there is a shot he's running. He sees the guy behind him. He hears a shot. He thinks he's being fired at he turns around and tries to shoot at the guy. The guy continues to chase him I think it six shots ring out from elsewhere. That you can. You can hear, right. Yeah, actually that was my. Two of my colleagues. WHO Is actually six or seven feet behind them at once I realized that the situation was turning into a situation where somebody get John Actually focused more on what was in front of me than. Anything else I thought man and actually I was about seven feet behind that when. The, pool. Dot. REACHED FOR KYLE's weapon. I saw that Apple. And he basically avoided. Reach. Is it reasonable to believe that that kyle was freaking out thinking they were shooting at him? So, actually I was running behind that because meeting the middle of three brothers, my first instinct was to yell at them to chill out because I knew at. Seattle I've been in Portland the been these these protests on things spiral control very quickly. "I've got a gun and I'll shoot you on my property. Well, and and honestly self defense is the most the single most important thing. The Second Amendment is four right Ryo. There were no police in seventeen ninety one when when that was ratified and You know there weren't for many many years in the united. States. So people are used to cultural requirement of. Being, protect being the their first line of defense. We our own first line of defense direct and when you are in cities where you've got politicians who refuse as we see in Portland to to do police work. then you can fully expect to see more of this kind of response. People are GonNa take things themselves and they don't have you know crowd control munition when they're threat and they only have one nextstep Goto and that's shooting. and. We want to avoid this. We need. We need better leadership in many of these cities. Can I know you are you're a little busy today? So I know your time pressure. Let me just ask you one more question. I started the show saying normally the biggest storm to hit Louisiana in a hundred and sixty years the most powerful storm to hit that area in one hundred, sixty years would be the lead story in all anybody's talking about. But we have so many other things. I don't want to lose sight of that. What are you guys doing down there? So Laura made landfall at two. Am this morning eastern time it was it came with a big storm search very big and you know we we measure these hurricanes on wind but the water does so much damage and and and that's that's where fear resides more than anything we've pre positioned five, hundred, thousand meals hundred, thousand liters of water and numerous team is to be prepared to respond. As soon as the danger struck and. Teams are inaction right now Laura has not moved out of Louisiana it's moving north east probably crossing the state for the duration of the day headed into Arkansas and The secretary's talked to. Both governors yesterday and you know there's much teamwork in preparation as we can do is in place and we in the federal government are supportive. That's our role is to support the state and local responses, and while Louisiana's experienced at this, it's not the kind of experience any state once? Yeah. So we're we're prepared to do an awful lot of work to to help keep folks safe there and the help those communities recover become and that's something. The PRE president already declared emergencies. He's got. He's he's got US leaning forward as far as we can eighty one miles north of Lake Charles. The real scary thing in New Orleans really is a New Orleans because it's just a bowl. And if it fills up, how is New Orleans doing? Have you heard Well as of yesterday I actually talked to folks in New Orleans and and When you compare weather across the whole front they were doing pretty well as as you know you know we talked about water The flooding can can hit New Orleans later, it doesn't have to be immediate. So that's something that the army corps and the rest of us will keep our eye on as well. Kim. Thank you very much Ken Kuching Allie from the Department of Homeland Security. Thank you. "How? That that's pretty. knee-jerk reaction and you know they're charging him because he shot people but you're going to see undoubtedly self defense or made I tweeted on this yesterday noting with a Lotta the interviews that this can happen give beforehand he was not speaking against any of the people protesting or any us. So so you know you've gotta my point in that I was tweeting about is this is complex investigation and to your point that the instant labeling is likely inaccurate though I don't have enough information draw conclusions neither do I don't WanNa do that either my my point is neither does anybody else correct and but there's a desire to. Paint a narrative out there that There's a lot of evidence just with this particular kid that doesn't seem to fit. So I would know that to our earlier discussion when you let violence runamuck like this, you get people who just feel like they're you know doing their duty backing up police obviously without the training without the coordination of mutual support of other security forces going out there and and trying to do with this kid was doing and you end up with this kind of scattered violence and and I don't think anybody wants that no anywhere in any of their cities and yet I mean Canosa, it's not like. You know Detroit but I tell you can any city in America they. We had several reports. Last night of neighborhoods people walking down the street three o'clock in the morning. Wake up wake up, you know, give us your houses that what? Else, from Richmond, you know there's nothing has happened in richmond per se email yet this morning about incidents like this from last night and win that multiple gunshots as well. When that happens, you will have you know Citizens Watch. Parties and they'll have guns. "Glenn it's you bring enough law enforcement responsibly executed and there is no violence we saw that happen in Minneapolis after the. Tragic. Kilian George Floyd is the first reaction Minneapolis was given room to riot the old bulbs more concept that didn't work, and so then they brought in the guard and Lo and behold things were calmed down because those who contemplated violence new there consequences and That shift take place in Wisconsin. Do we wish it happened pastor? Yes but you'll see the Department of Justice is moving over two hundred. Marshals FBI agents ATF agents into Kenosha They've also got extra prosecution help, but they're all in addition to the to the guard commitments from the president and the willingness of Governor Egar's to use them. So here's the problem that we have the left. Has Run unchecked. And the American people in five million new gun owners in the United. States just in the first quarter of this year or second quarter of this year. And that's all because people feel like there's there's nobody to protect me. This is why the Second Amendment says a well regulated militia and a militia is happening as your last resort. There's there's nobody coming to help you, and that's I think where people are starting to feel and that becomes very dangerous. So how do you guys at the federal level because I'm a I'm a federalist I believe in the state or yeah you too. So how do you balance this? So it doesn't spiral out of control because the left wants a fight they want it. They do in many respects I mean you can see lots of these politicians on the left who encouraged the violent protesters, but without condemning the violent correct and and even using the phrase violent protesters is not accurate. And criminals, some cases, terrorists. So you know we we we need to do need to fix that even myself but but that kind of encouragement reaches a situation like we saw in. Portland last weekend where you then get 'em Kenosha, frankly you get people who don't believe the law person is going to be provided or allowed to do its job adequately, and they start showing up to do it and very sort of frontier mentality if you will in some cases but also it's other groups who. Are, looking to fight, and if you don't calm that violence soon in relatively quickly, you invites that kind of islands which really spirals out of control that that's that's war in the streets between different Americans, and they may all be misbehaving put it mildly but but there they've been given free rein to do. So by the left wing leadership in those communities and you, you ask the federalist question, which is when I'm very sensitive to I'm sure that's no surprise to you that we have limited federal. Jurisdiction, the federal government isn't just another police we can't or office..

Cuccinelli defends federal response in Portland

"The acting Deputy secretary for Homeland security, Ken Cuccinelli, said that the sweeps by federal officers were the result of intelligence showing targeted violence against the federal courthouse in Portland. Are they within their rights to be defending the federal building in the abstract? Yes, A federal building is federal property, not necessarily everything around it, but sure, But the question is, is the level of force being used here? Justified by the situation? I mean, there's been videos that have gone viral that show these sort of mystery. Federal troopers using pathway, excessive force on people who pose no threat whatsoever. And when you get into things like shooting tear gas and concussion, grenades and flares and things like that, That is on the very aggressive side of enforcement. I mean, that is far more than just defending and protecting a property. The other thing that alarms me from a sort of criminal justice and former prosecutorial standpoint is process or lack of process here. I mean, people have a right to know who is arresting them and what they're being charged for that for a couple reasons. One. Anyone who is charged with a crime has the right to challenge the arrest. And you need to know who you're being arrested by two is in order to make a federal rest. You need probable cause and there are a couple ways to establish probable cause you can go to a judge. You can go to a grand jury. Or if an officer sees a crime committed right in front of his eyes, those of the three ways but just randomly picking up protesters and throwing him into cars and then releasing them without charges is completely against the way our system works

"As Renault Mani is with us. So where do you start with people who have good hearts, but are believing the press on all of this? Well I place I. Try to start is from a place of humanity and I tried to say to people. The place where especially folks with good hearts can can agree which is juicy humanity, and all people, and do you believe that we need to be kind and compassionate to all people and I I? If we start from that premise, this entire uses of critical race theory and black lives, matter and the Islamist doesn't survive because ultimately as you can see from the streets to the. Boardrooms and the workplace you know retraining. Have People on quote anti-racism? All this racism propaganda. It's about shaming people, and if if you believe in being kind and compassionate and recognizing the humanity and goodness of all people. Good this potential say of all people then you cannot participate in that kind of movement. You just can't and what happens, though. Let me just tell you they what I've learned that they trick people is that? One of their tricks is to use stories and because and they say that in their approach, and so I want your listeners to know that if they're subjected to these kind of trainings, this is a tactic I'm a storyteller, your storyteller, we know the power of it, but what happens is they hijack our brains? Then they go to the back of the brain the amid the hippocampus. You know the neuroscience. Deal, that feeling and empathy and so. What they do they try to keep. You stuck there so that you don't move forward and have your entire brain working with your prefrontal cortex and rational thought, and so that's how shame works, and so when they have you stand up and say. We want you to share a racist moment in your life, and then you give some confession of foam when you are nine years old, they'll now you're that against you as a human being that they keep stuck in that place, and then they have you. Have you listened to other stories too of up to make you avoid critical thinking until that you cannot allow that to happen to your brain, and you'll have to be smarter than them. I can't thank you enough for all you have done. You have big fans on my staff. Really big fans and they were very excited when you agreed to come on the The program I know how difficult it is to stand. And you are you are because you're Muslim. You are even more brave. Than the usual. Brave Person. Out there are already hard to find May I. Ask you one other question to to see if you think that I am over stating this. The people that and I'm not talking about the regular people in St. the people who know exactly what they're doing the communists, the real radicals, and the Islamist. This is a group of people. If they get power, we'll kill people if you don't come on board with them. And they will probably end up killing each other. Do you agree with that or not? Is that an overstatement? I mean I. think that we. I think they're like with all communities and groups there will. There is an element of them that will actually resort to the physical violence, but I think we have to do is look. We have to look at the example of the one perfect example is a lawyer in WHO ended up throwing a Molotov cocktail into a empty police car George Mentally. Along with another lawyer, violence is part of the decreed, and that's what we have to be careful about about well ultimately. It s essential threat we. Federal officers’ actions against Portland protesters raise fears of civil rights violations

"Today, police in Portland, Oregon, declared the ongoing protests. They're a riot overnight. After the Portland Police Association building was set on fire and exits to government buildings were blocked. Police told protesters they would risk being arrested if they did not clear the streets. For more than 50 nights, hundreds have been gathering in the city's downtown to protest racial inequality and police brutality. Last week, federal agents dressed in camouflage and tactical gear took to the streets, unleashing tear gas meeting protesters bloody and pulling people in tow, Unmarked fans. The state of Oregon is now suing several federal agencies, citing civil rights violations. Portland's mayor, Ted Wheeler, called the actions and attack on democracy and has demanded that the Trump Administration remove the federal agents from his city. I asked him if he's heard back. The only response has been from the interim secretary of Homeland security, and he's basically told us to stuff it. The problem were experiencing here is we haven't already heightened situation. It's already tense. But after nearly five weeks of demonstrations were starting to see that small handful of people who are engaged in criminal activity. It was dissipating. It was coming down. We believed a week ago it would be over by this weekend. What happened instead is. The feds stepped in with a very heavy handed approach, and it blew the lid off the whole thing. Mayor Acting's Homeland Security Deputy secretary Ken Cuccinelli spoke to NPR Friday night and he said that you quote hold back. You're law enforcement. Preventing them from using certain non lethal tactics. He cited 49 straight days of violence and destruction as justification for deploying federal agents are those accurate descriptions of your actions and what's unfolding on the streets of your city? No Again. It's rhetoric. It's the kind of escalating rhetoric we've seen from Donald Trump and the White House and he sent in the troops. Despite the fact that the governor are two United States senators myself is mayor and others have said. We don't need them and we don't want them. My residents don't know who a federal officer is a local police officer or a county deputy or a state comptroller. They don't know and they don't care. It's all the same to them. On Friday night after the federal police started gassing people. About 300 people came to my house and wanted to know why I allowed our police officers to gas people, which, of course I didn't and they didn't But there's a distinction without a difference in the eyes of the public, and I believe the president and his people know that well. The police in your city has also been criticized you about that. There's no question that in nearly seven weeks of nightly demonstrations, the police have done many things right and they've done something's wrong as well. But the difference between local and federal law enforcement Is that we have clear policies. Clear directives. We have a complaint process. We haven't independent accountability and review system with the federal government. They won't even identify who they are. We don't know why they're here. We don't know the circumstances under which they're making arrests. We don't know what their policies are. What accountability mechanisms There are to the point where even the U. S attorney here in the state of Oregon. Is calling for an investigation wondering where was the probable cause to pull these people off the streets in unmarked cars. Cuccinelli also said that this is a tactic that the federal government intends to continue, not just in Portland. And this is a quote but in any of the facilities that we're responsible for around the country, are you in communication with other mayors about this? Yes, I am. And what I can tell you is that this is coordinated by the administration. It appears to be a blatant abuse of police authority by the Trump administration is best is I can tell this is an effort a last gasp effort. By a failed president with sagging polling data. Who's trying to look strong for his base? And so he's actually using the federal police function in Support of his
