"Mango on spot markets to massively increase the price of mango, which made the protocol think that they had a huge amount of collateral. And then use that huge amount of collateral, they borrowed all the real money in mango, meaning like the USD C and the soul and whatever. They barred all that out, mango, of course, then collapsed on the spot markets after they stopped buying. I think they used like $10 million to buy up this huge amount of spot mango to massively shoot up the price because it was very low liquidity. And then mango markets, the mango price collapses, and by that time they've already borrowed all the collateral out of the protocol. And basically sees everything besides the mango tokens. So as a result, mango markets was totally drained. Then so okay, you're on Solana. So long doesn't have a huge amount of TV all anymore. It's like between one and 1.5 billion, I believe. And so trying to fence like all the money in mango is pretty hard on Solana, right? There aren't a lot of places for you to hide. And so what happens is that the protocol hacker ends up giving a governance proposal to the protocol where he proposes to return the majority of the money, but to keep 40 million for himself as a finder's fee, as well as a promise not to prosecute him. And this proposal ends up passing governance, which is absolutely insane. Then, shortly after, the proposer of the actual hacker ends up being doxxed. And so we now know who the hacker is. The hacker is this guy. Avi, Abraham eisenberg, he claimed in his tweet, I was involved with a team that operated a highly profitable trading strategy last week. I believe all our actions were legal open market actions using the protocol as designed, even if the development team did not fully anticipate the consequences of setting parameters the way they are. So he's now become a little bit of a micro celebrity within DeFi. It's like this kind of like Ken bone kind of character I almost feel like. We're like, now he's like kind of playing it up in the character and he's kind of owning it. What did you guys think about good old Avi and his mango markets exploit? Well, I'll start with the one side perspective. There's obviously a number of people on Twitter who view this guy as a folk hero. I'm going to take the opposite side, which is what he did was market manipulation, whether you believe that it's legal or illegal, you know, my view is that it is illegal. As clear market manipulation, it's also deeply unethical. And even though coda's law, he completely violated the expectation of the protocol, the users, the community, and you can rebrand a hack or an exploit however you'd like. You can rebrand a hack or an exploit into a profitable trading strategy. I could try to rebrand bank robbery or some other horrible crimes as profitable trading strategies. It doesn't make them right and it doesn't make them legal. And at the end of the day, I think what he has demonstrated is that, of right now, he has basically robbed the protocol in broad daylight and this bragging about it. And it's really curious to see where it goes from here. I think one part of him is correct in that every protocol has to address the risk parameters, assuming that some black hat asshole is going to try to exploit it, right? And it's a great wake-up call for every DeFi project on every single blockchain to take this moment as a wake-up call. There was already a copycat attack for the world's tiniest borrowing protocol on cello, where there was like the mood token or something like that. Mulan markets. Yeah. Imagine it was like, you know, a market way smaller than mango, but the same exact construct. That was already attacked in the exact same way, where mu, which I even less liquidity, you know, was used to attack it. It's a wake-up call for every DeFi protocol every DeFi team, every DeFi community. They're just assumed that some black hat is going to be attacking you. What's going to slow them down? Well, you know, conservative risk management, both technical and market risk, but also, you know, this is one of those things where I think the community itself has to say, hey, it's not cool. Or exchanges have to say, hey, we don't want your money. Robbed from a protocol. There need to be more of a community response in general where it's going to continue and it's going to escalate. This guy is shopping around, you know, similar trades to hedge funds being like capitalized me and I'm going to go after bigger fish by robbing protocols again. At some point, this has to stop and like either it stops from the government coming into the sector or it stops from like the entire community saying like dude like no. This isn't like a good thing, even if you call it a profitable trading strategy. So I think he sucks. I guess there are a couple things that are worth pointing out with regards to this attack and more like general or

"One of the main things that a lot of teachers forget when they move to remote learning is one of the reasons why students enjoy coming to class. And one of the reasons they enjoy coming to class isn't to learn stuff, I'm afraid. It's to see each other and spend some time with their friends and things like that. And I think this is a really important aspect of any online class, is that you make some time for socialization. You know, sometimes sometime when they can just sit together and have a chat, you know, whether you have 5 minutes in the middle where you put them into breakout rooms and they're unobserved and can chat with each other or whether you organize games or structured games so that they can play together or whether your school even has a kind of social active remote social activities program. Having something like that to where students can just relax together and chat and be friends together without the pressure of having to be taught. No, I think that's very important. And I think that particularly during the pandemic, when students were in lockdown and weren't able to leave their homes and see their friends, you know, that's something that's so important. And it's one of the great the weaknesses, I guess, of online learning or remote learning is that you can start to feel very isolated. Often one of the things that you pick up from being in a physical class is you kind of judge how well you are doing by how well other people are doing. If you're struggling and everybody else is struggling, you're kind of feeling well well, and it's a difficult lesson. But when you're on your own and you're struggling with it, that much more difficult to deal with because you think it's just you. So having that element and socialization, I think, is one of the things that can really help classes go that much better. Yeah. I think when you were talking about that solidarity, I think even it might just even be a glance might in it from the student next to you to the glance that says, oh, I'm finding this really hard too. And that might just give you that feedback that you need to carry on and without that. Yeah, the sense of isolation is huge, isn't it? City, what would you say? How do you bring the best of those face to face classrooms into your remote teaching? I think one realization I have about doing things remotely is it doesn't have to be done on this spot. We always have options to teach and assign tasks offline and as well online. And I think if I reflect back to when we had the Cambridge schools conference online back in April, I had the opportunity to learn from doctor Rhonda and her session about student engagement really outlined that we have effective behavioral and cognitive engagement. So when it comes to making the classroom more alive doesn't mean that we really need to ask the students to always behave in one way and meet our expectations because then they will feel forced and like Nick said like they were isolated, the last thing they want is to be told not to interact with their classmates. And it's kind of sad, really. But to add to that, I think one thing that nobody can replace or replicate from USA teacher is who you really are, your personality and what you advocate will always shine through, no matter what class you teach online or physical, I always have set a routine. I sounded like a broken record when in physical classroom because I just want them to have their mats class mode started. So I always say like books on the table, devices, screen down, bottles on the floor. Because there's always flood on the table because they love their water bottles too much. So setting up a simple routine really, really sets the tone at the beginning of the class. And this can be done. Simultaneously or in parallel when you just have your online lesson. So we tell I tell the students, okay, please mute yourself and on your mic when you need to speak, text me when you need help and let's support each other and contribute together. So yeah. That's great advice. That's great. So there was those routines that you had in the classroom that made everything go smoothly are every bit as valuable when you move to remote learning. Yeah, that's wonderful advice for teachers. Thank you so much. So we've talked about individual lessons very much now, but thinking now about a series of lessons, maybe a project that goes on for many weeks. City, how would you keep students motivated and on track in that kind of situation? First of all, I think anything that comes in the form of shared document helps because as much as we want to assign students with any long-term tasks, they must be briefed really clearly about the expectations, the rubrics and what is expected of them on weekly basis. It's a good thing to also set up a group chat if we assigned the task by groups or individual. But of course, very much this depends on whether the students want to respond to us or not in the first place. But this is the mode of communication that you can always attend to, not only during school hours. Because I think one best thing about this is, of course, some teachers don't like the idea that, oh, I'm not available after school hours. But sometimes we don't really know what happened at home, especially when students are sharing devices among their siblings and the only time they have is maybe slightly a couple of hours after school to reach out to us and ask questions. So I am like an advocate of group chats and all those texting thing going on when communicating with students doing online learning. Yeah. That's a really valuable point about a devices and the amount of devices that might be available to students in a household and having that flexibility. Yeah, group chat sounds like exactly the way forward in that situation and share documents. Are those things you use and what else would you suggest in that situation? Yeah, I think that's really good advice, really good advice. And one of the things that I would add is that which probably comes from my background as a project manager as well is give them some project management tools. If you're developing projects and those are kind of great tools for students to learn how to use. One of my favorite ones is the idea of the kanban board. I don't know if you've heard of this concept of Ken bone. I might not have been pronouncing it correctly too. But a kanban board is like sorry, can ban board? That's the Ken bone. And basically what it is, you can have one, you can have a digital one, or you can have one with sticky notes, physical one. And what you do is you put, you break down the work that you have to do on all these different notes. And you have them in three columns you have the list of things you need to do, then you, as you do them, you move them into the list of things that you're doing, and as you finish them, you list move them into the things that you've done. So there you have all your work laid out in your first column. You see your progress and you see what you've achieved in your gradually seeing all these notes gradually move across your kanban board until they're all concluded. And this gives you a sense of, okay, this is the progress that I'm making. This is what I've achieved. This is how much I have left to do. And seeing that visually and sort of knowing what they have to do, I.

"Another really useful application aside from bedding is filling out your bracket. And I was like, our model really liked Arizona last year. So, you know, just to be heard again. Yeah. I'm talking it up. I should say that I didn't come up with the model, so I'm not, I can't take all this credit for it. You know, I just have sort of figured out how to use it. But I mean, obviously Aaron was the big one, but then also Zoe, I will help them out a lot with the model towards the end of last year, so really a bunch of credit goes to them. But yeah, if you just go to our website and go to the schedules page, please towards the right. And look at any given day if you look at a day in the past, it'll say, what's the prediction was of that game or whether it was right or wrong in any if you look at like today or tomorrow, it'll show you what the prediction for every game all the way down the list. That's on the schedule. So it's pretty cool. Yeah, exactly. And for anyone that's familiar with Ken bone, it's very similar to the camp problem scheduled papers for each team. You can see everything. Exactly. Exactly. And you can click on a specific game too, and you can see what the prediction would be if that game where any different locations you can see. Any hypothetical, it doesn't have to be a game that's actually on schedule. You can just look up a hypothetical matchup and see if these teams played at this school or at the other school or on a neutral port, what would the prediction be? So really, you could look at any matchup. Right. So if you want to say like South Carolina and Stanford is going to be the national champion, who has the best odds to win today on an neutral cart, you could go look that up even without their video game and schedule, which is fun. Exactly. But we all are. And it is early April for talking about championship games, but still. All right, so we covered that. You can bet on the spread. On the over under and on the money line. Yeah. So from there, how do you go about deciphering the odds and which ones that you want to put actually that on? Yeah, that's a.

"On another night. You know you talk about the x. g on another night rail madrid. Run away with this was hilarious but this was what was it point. Four sheriff. Terrace ball had and I don't have it in front of me but you know row madrid attempt to thirty one shots. It was their most in a champions league game since two thousand sixteen against warsaw when they had thirty two bit this was relentless from madrid. Vinicius had chances. Benza had chances debris the late block on luca yovich is attempt would like when i saw it in real time. I think it was the eighty seven th minute or so i thought yovich just he just scoffed it but then on the replay you could see the angle where there was an unbelievable block. The deflected harmlessly to the goalkeeper preserve the lead. I mean real. They just couldn't finish. I dunno i guess this happens sometimes in this sport. Now you can it was. It was unbelievable. You'll have nights that for sure. Absolutely we mentioned a little bit about so. This is a great story but it's also not quite what it seems. I don't know if you can class this fairytale. Twenty seven hundred. Come on right okay. That's true did you see what else sharon geico did. They sent a reporter to the airport to interview the sheriff players that were leaving and one of the questions was are you a professional footballer like like. They wanted to pile madrid and he goes. Yeah yeah yeah. And he goes. We don't have any other job right. It's not like you're this is just your profession and he goes. Yeah yeah it's my. It's my one profession. Let's just so they had to find a way to demean rail madrid. So what they did. Was they also demean sheriff players at the airport by asking these questions but md baltimore-based journalist. Slava mahmoud mahmoud was born not far from this region and so he does a thread that everyone should read. But i am going to read you just a few things about sheriff because they are fascinating so we talked about the the area that that sheriff or in. It's not technically moldova. It's like a self self contained a state. That doesn't recognize moldova. It's on its own this. What's laverick rights. I'll just read a few of these. The country in inverted commas was created as a project by the kgb to keep moldova from slipping out of russia's sphere of influence. Its i in in inverted commas. President was some dude from siberia with an extremely murky past whose full biography is not known to anyone. The country's second president basically assembled cabinet of ministers most of whom were very pleasant looking. Single women in their thirties then chose himself wife from among them. The minister of internal affairs and retired happily. How does a country like this survive russian assistance and drug and gun trafficking. The entire business is owned by a couple of very powerful families families around the country as one big mafia organization. One of the companies. They own sharieff. Transnistria is only supermarket chain and also a convenient front for trafficking. This is where sheriff terrace ball comes from. The team was founded by the owners of the company. Both former kgb agents of course who have bankrolled it as a giant money laundering operation. They've built a huge football complex. In the middle. Of quite moldovan cow pasture. it's literally the only modern building in the entire country. The only building of any size without soviet mold growing on it. And it's fancy head. This is the building where sherry play opponents from hint zesty attach an aura whose home grounds are actual pastures in fact. This is the only stadium in the entire nation of moldova. That can be described as such everything else in the country is literally pastures. Are ruins like the stadium and bednarz are dumps in some towns. There are pies of construction construction junk just beyond the touchlines. It's it's a story it's a. It's a crazy story. I don't know if it qualifies. The wind qualifies as fairy tale. I'm not sure if the club do. And rory smith does another piece in the new york times as well which is very good. He talks about how dave literally eviscerated the competition. In the moldovan league which they play and even though they're technically not in moldova. They've believe their unbeaten and seventeenth straight. Yes all competitions by the way they won their first. Two champions league matches well yet. They they hammer teams. They destroy teams and they've destroyed that league really because every other club has to find its players. In the moldovan dovan league from its environs from it surrounds from its locality. So they're all local guys and a lot of them are part timers whereas sheriff have the money and a two hundred million dollar stadium and they've the money to pay foreign players know their second rate brazilians and maybe they're not secondary it they just beat real madrid. But you know what i mean. This is kind of fairy tale. Well you've gone and done it. You have once again found a way to take a seemingly glorious moment in this sport and you have ruined it no i. This is called reporting. That's slava mahmoud and you can follow him there. He's just excellent threads on on a lot of a lot of different things You have made this into the hungarian fans. We thought they were incredibly passionate and we learned more. Ken bone all over again. We thought he was just an adorable man. Asking a question during a presidential debate than we saw his credit history. This is this. is that all over. What have we learned andrew. Don't ask questions just accept what you see the way to go head-in-the-sand on all right. Let's move on to to a much better story which has impeccable ethics and morals esther city against g. man. Well it was a fun game. That's certainly true A memorable goal for messy to put. Ps up two nil. I wonder about ps g. Because like we've talked about on this podcast. We have not seen right out of the gate the version of them that we thought we would see Maybe that's only reasonable that it wouldn't happen right away. Pacino also spoke about how it's gonna take time the second goal the messy goal to put them up two nil. I do wonder if that was kind of a glimpse as to what we think they can be like those three players messy name our imbaba if they can get the ball and space which messy did you know can they. Is there enough time. Basically for them to develop the kinda chemistry were they know the runs to make you know. Messy can just direct traffic. The way he wants to that goal was so interesting to me. Because bobby does the right thing. He makes the perfect run across the box. But messy i feel like almost deserves his own assist. They're like the way he passes that ball to embody imbaba. Really the only thing he can do is kind of flick it right back to messy and if it was another player i'd say maybe that was just kind of a happy accident with messy. I truly believe he's good enough and smart enough where he just knows if i pass it to that exact spot on the grass imbaba has no choice but to just immediately flick it back right where i need it to be and it was. It was brilliant. It was such a fun. Goal to watch developed. And i was angry at first with edison. Because it's not right in the top corner on. I'm thinking wait. Isn't he do something more. But messy is done with his is how many times has messy slotted out to the right of the keeper and it's gone in the bottom corner lots of times but he decided this side. That is the site. That edison is moving towards. So i will completely flunk some go. The other way and edison's made the slightest move and as a goalkeeper. You can't react to that so he's already he's committed to one side and that's it it's game over because it flashes into.

"Let's get the latest on Tropical Storm Elsa from W Awards. Weather Channel meteorologist Ken Bone. Good Morning, Ken. How you doing? I'm doing fine yourself. Well, uh, I didn't leave my house this morning because I thought I'd be drenched. When is this thing gonna let up, And when are the one of the winds going to start with it up? Yes, well, the center of circulation is still a good bit offshore and it is moving towards the Northeast and it's going to come very close, if not potentially move over Far eastern Long Island. So we're still probably another hour or two away from the strongest winds which I think will be seen out across Central and Eastern Long Island, where we might see those tropical storm force gusts of wind up over 40 He maybe even 50 MPH. I don't know that the winds are going to get all that strong in New York City as sustained, Um, but we will see the winds pick up as a centre approaches the coast but we're still probably another hour or two away from that center of circulation getting closer to Long Island. But the heavy rain we're already seeing and radar shows all the heavy rain associated with storm really on the north side in the Northeast. The northwest side of the circulation. So as the centre approaches, things will actually start to get better from a rain for perception is, uh, there's not a lot of rain on the back side of this storm, so For the next couple of hours. Still dealing with a heavy rain. We're still probably another hour to two away from the strongest winds and those will probably occur out over far Eastern Long Island as we get towards mid morning. I can't remember a storm of this size moving as fast as is moving. I mean, just yesterday it was it was in the Carolinas and then today is already here. Yes, moving. 31 MPH officially the last check, So he's moving very, very fast, typically well, and it held together pretty good to its proximity to the coast as it moved through the Southeast Celtics and its forward speed help to stay.

Now. Weather Channel meteorologist Ken Boone joins us now with what this storm is done and what it still hasn't store for us can't As we take a look at radar. Still seeing some pretty good snowfall rates across parts of the North jersey Lower Hudson Valley, even out over Eastern Long Island, we are seeing just generally some light to moderate precipitation and around the city right now, as we head through the rest of the sickening and on through tonight, we're gonna continue to see that precipitation off it on might be a little bit of some warm air in the upper levels of the atmosphere, so potentially overnight, maybe sleet, freezing rain, rain could mix it in spots, but primarily snow. And it'll continue often on through mid day tomorrow, so quite a bit of more snow. I think we'll see That's what's gonna get those snow totals up in that 15 to 20 inch range in the city. Overnight. Some areas northern New Jersey Lower Hudson Valley could end up with over 2 Ft of snow in spots so travel certainly gonna remain hazardous through the overnight hours. Also win to deal with not only cold with wind chills in the teens overnight. It. Also, some coastal areas could see some flooding with those strong, gusty winds coming in off the water, So that's certainly another concern for people living in coastal areas on also, we potentially could see some of that water move a little bit further to the inland areas as well. So watch out for coastal flooding the snow to continue here overnight. Certainly a better picture by tomorrow afternoon, but definitely overnight. Certainly indoors is the best place to be all right.
