"You know, drinking and calling the ball game, right? I mean, can we get what are we doing? Can we give some can we give some turducken over here? So I think we're fans of innovation and it's hard to ignore what's happening on the innovation side with EVs. Okay. And here's the finest. Here's the finest example, key, right? I just lost my wingman. So that's okay. He'll be back. So you like Ken block, right? Yeah. You like the hoonigan series, right? You like the GM cona files, right? He liked all that right? It's fascinating. Again, let us remind you what did Ken just bring out? What did he bring out? What's he driving? The E Tron, the Audi electric all wheel drive drift car. So are you now not a fan of neutron? Sorry, who neutron? It's an E Tron. Are you now not a fan of Ken blocks because he's driving an electric vehicle? I see what you just did there. Yeah. Well played, Jay. Yeah. I'll just say it. I mean, if there's ever you're saying that, wait, so if I say that I'm a fan of automotive, but I don't like things that aren't power to certain way. I'm inauthentic. Yeah, I think that's what's up. People are pretty much poo poo in the idea of electric vehicles. Look, the argument, we understand some of the arguments out there about electric vehicles, we get it. But we're trying to pound home to you guys that they understand it too, and they're addressing those concerns every single year. They're getting better and better at these things. Just as we broadcasted on our last podcast about rivian dealing with the icing over of their headlights because they're leds and they're not halogen so they don't create enough heat to melt off the ice. Those things will change. That will change. Somebody in the aftermarket is already fixed and even in the week since we've talked about that or longer. And so my point is leading into this next segment is that we want to talk about these things because it's not going away. It's fun to talk about and there's a pretty cool stuff that comes out of it like this particular one, right?

"Camping stuff, and they went, you know what, you guys, first thing we want to tell you is anything can happen in Vegas, as you saw right there. And second, that is not a fair classification for the hellenized product. So they are really more with you anywhere chairs. Absolutely. Event chairs. Yeah. Intervention cheers. Jay and I started thinking about it and we were like, well, these things are super lightweight. They're super easy to put together. Pack right on our backpacks. Let's take them to the show and we've got our own chairs. Yep. Instead of trying to steal other people's tables and chairs. So that's what we did. Now, we like this so much. We bought these with our own money. We are not being paid by Helen ox, they didn't give us these chairs. We went out and bought them. But we did work out a partnership with Helena, and we will get you guys the link if you are interested in the products that we were using. Here, now I will say that the cafe chair sit higher than a lot of their other we prefer those. We didn't want to be close to the ground. For this event, but when if you are at an event like, say, an outdoor amphitheater, what's a grassy area? Well, they have a sloped slurred chair that you can use. So you just need to go to hell and dot com and take a look at that, but actually you can go to parts kind of guru dot com and he just said yeah, we'll put some links and put some links in the video when you can buy these cheers. And we're not done with that. We're going to do some videos. We've got Roth Meyer involved. We're going to kick the tires on these things, so to speak, but it just was a nice sort of, hey, let's see what we can work out here. So you guys can tell we are literally outside in the line. Yeah, yeah, we're in the lot. This is where the build section is, where they invite people who build their vehicles and we just talked to a gentleman over there, he built a Chevy cobalt. He's from Canada, drove 1800 miles into to be here. They're all over the place. And as you can see behind us here too, there's a rivian R one T sitting there. There's rivian's everywhere here, actually. We told you that last night, right? Right there. But anyway, so exactly. We had a very full day, guys. That did not come without having a few snacks. Keith and I put in a few extra miles today for some power cord issues that we had. Now this is the podcast. So we can get into a little bit more of that because we have more time than we would have on a YouTube video segment. So yeah, let's start at the top. First of all, if you're not following us over on socials, particularly YouTube and Facebook, we're doing a lot of streaming there. We're throwing all kinds of video content there. YouTube dot com slash parts counter gurus. I'm gonna mess this one up Facebook. Facebook is Facebook dot com, four size parts kind of gurus. Instagram, however, is Instagram dot com slash the parts count of gurus. You can follow us over on Twitter. We are our handle is at the counter show. And we're actually also putting some live streams on Twitter, believe it or not. Absolutely. We are. We are. So, and then make sure you go to YouTube dot com for size parts kind of guru, or you can go to just parts kind of guru dot com and you can get to any of those platforms. So back to the drama at hand. We edit video on the fly and I have a laptop and overnight has started having some weird power issues where the power supply would not charge. Like it would sit there and ding ding ding and we're like, yeah, that's not good. This is not good. So you got no power to the laptop you got no way to edit the video. So anyway, quick trip to the Apple store today at Caesar's palace and. 5 miles to our day. Well, there was a couple of beers involved. So the very first press release, which started the minute that the hall opened at 9 a.m. was by Volkswagen, who is back for the first time in a while. It's one of the best press pressors I've ever seen. Yeah, and you were very excited. I was not there. I was staging because they had the Toyota press event. Starting the moment, the VW press event ended. And they're not, they weren't in the same hall. One of the same haul. So I had myself position Keith came over and we covered, we covered both of them. However, the Toyota press event was not. It was not as good as we thought it could have been. Yeah, so I'm going to comment on that, but first, how are you going to let me sit here with these headphones on before you point out that I forgot to look good on you, pal. All right, let me take this off. So if you were still in the soundtrack, it's a style thing, man. Yeah. So they had Tanner Faust. And the delivery, the products that they brought, some of them were, I wouldn't even call them prototypes or concepts. There was a little bit of concept in going on. Right. Like, for example, they worked out a vehicle with the Tennessee valley authority with TBA. That's pretty cool. Now, I've got, we've got that video that's in a separate video. We'll get it for you. You have to be to subscribe, but we'll get into the details of that presser. Live TV people. Yeah, by the way, that's not the unlock button. Just make sure you're subscribed and you'll have access to that video as soon as it comes out. But just the delivery, Tanner was walking around talking there was no cue cards. There was no stumbling. It was very natural. You know, he knows what he's talking about. Yes. You've been involved with the Volkswagen people for a while. And then we went over to the, I met you over at the Toyota press. Right. And Rutledge wood, Tanner's old partner from TV, was helping with that one, and Toyota was so scripted. The jokes were scripted, it was uncomfortable. It was not, yes, it was not organic at all. It was very forced, it was not polished at all. Brett was walking around with cue cards looking up on the monitor, checking the cards, checking the teleprompter. Yeah. And there was a Toyota had a lot of stuff that they well, on the TRD side, the off roading, they had a reveal and look again, if you make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel at YouTube dot com slash bars kind of gurus and you'll see these press events and you'll see some of the videos about what we are talking about here today that we will be releasing here throughout this week. So make sure you're subscribed to that and hit the notification bell so you'll know when those things get released. But the things that they were talking about or revealing were actually not vehicles that you or I could go and purchase today. It's just they're just not available. Their concept vehicles. We get what they're doing. They're cool and everything, but just on the Toyota performance side, as far as that goes, but the off roading or the overlanding side, I think they hit that out of the park with what they reveal. Well, they usually do. Yeah. And it was a Toyota tundra concept vehicle. It was the trail boss or something. I was insane. It was insane. And they just watched the video. They are going to and they even said from the ground up, spend time building for the overland crowd. Yes. They're going to be factory OEM overland built purpose built for overland vehicles Toyota today made that commitment. So that was interesting. That was one of the big positives of that press event. Absolutely. I thought so too. It was a short one too, which kind of helped us out because we were kind of juggling some scheduling. With that, so that worked out for us. But again, you know, make sure you go to our YouTube channel and check those segments out when we get them released. So let's point out where Toyota did with their booth is in Ford's old location. Ford's old booth location. And so Ford, not here, they pulled out GM not here. However, you know, did we miss them? I don't think people did. I don't think they did. So we were worried that the turnout would be lower. You've got two big heavies that potentially aren't there. You've got potentially space that's not being used and a lot of the vendors and they have to shuffle all those spots around. Right. Fill the room. They've got more vendor attendance here this year than I've seen in the past. Four years. I would say so. Yeah, I'd say so I think they're heavy this year. I think this show is busier this year than it was even in 2019. Well, they're using more space. Absolutely. So I would agree with that. The whole west hall, guys. It used to only be a segment of the overlanding. It's now turned in the entire hall everywhere you look is overlanding. So if you have the opportunity to get to see my next year, oh my goodness. Or this year. This year, still two days left. You can buy tickets on Friday night. They call it seam ignited. They do welcome the public in. It costs you a little money. I think it's around 90 bucks a ticket to get in, but that's a fun thing to see if you want to see some of the vehicles that are still around. They have a lot of fun with that. They've got beers for sale. All the beverages, all the food, no, that kind of stuff for sale. So anyway, just make sure you go to see what dot com for that. And you can find all that information out and buy tickets. But outside of that, we had and you know, yeah, there's a lot of Fords and GMs around in some of these booths that are represented. Broncos still lead the way in SUVs out here. Wouldn't you say? Well, outside of G in terms of number of actual vehicles here to represent, I'd still, the winner is Bronco, which makes it weird because there's still a shortage. Yeah. There's still a shortage. They can't fill orders, man. So including one special one that we, this was another video segment that we will get out. There was a, the sema business women's network sbn did a build, and it was a Bronco. Yes. And that was really cool. It was an all women built vehicle, and it was a pretty large group of contributors, and you can tell they all had fun doing the project. They did, they all had huge smiles on the face. They should be very proud. It was an awesome build. We'll have a segment out on our YouTube channel. We'll bring that to you as well. Go check them out. That's the sbn, which is, again, like he said, the sema business women's network, all female build, and we had the luxury of being on the monorail this morning with one of the ladies that was involved with that group. However, she was not at this particular reveal. She had to reveal earlier in the day and we didn't get to that one and we apologize if you're watching this and thanks for talking to us this morning anyway. But then we had Keith and I took a little walk around outside and we wanted to come out where Ford used to be out out here. And you know, you got a huge hoonigan presence. I mean, they're doing burnouts, man. They're drifting. They're doing all this stuff. Just right out here. Then you've got eBay motors. The presence of eBay, it is eBay motors. They're making a huge push in the automotive industry. And people think, well, they're just used cars. They're selling parts also. Now, eBay has been somewhat troubled in recent years on the non motor side, right? Like used merchandise. Yes, yes. Absolutely. eBay started as kind of a flea market mindset and they've tried really, really hard to never let people acknowledge that. They try to compete with Amazon and some other stuff. But yeah, so they come in with a little bit of a black eye from some of this, but they do have a huge presence here. eBay motors and hoonigan dominated. This lot. So the hoonigan thing. So Ken block has quite the enterprise going on. Things went quiet for him for about a year when the partnership with Ford was in the contract was up. Right. And we all thought, well, I thought, you know, is that the last we heard of him? He's been really busy, and that business enterprise that he's got going on is big. It is, it is huge. Here's what's funny about that. When he parted ways with Ford, that was just the end of contract. It was not a ugly divorce or anything like that. It was just the end of contract. And everybody speculated, well, what is he going to do next? And Keith and I on the podcast said, we think that he may go all electric and lo and behold, what did he do? Oh, the electric Audi, who neutron is what they call it. Videos are running everywhere up here on big screens. And they released that video. I'm sure purposely the week before sema. Absolutely. It's a life. If you haven't seen that video, it's ridiculous. You'll find or just Google him. Ken block, just go Google Ken block, electric Audi, and you'll find it. Trust me. And we speak of the electrified side of it is because we're excited about what we have going on coming up tomorrow. We have a scheduled podcast with optima batteries who has a huge presence here, the silver lot, the pretty cool surprises. Right, they've got over here in the bronze lot. They've got a neat array of my finger on the beat button in case you go ahead. They have a neat array of builds over there, including one that I found very fascinating. They have a hydrogen internal combustion engine resto mod. And we will talk about that tomorrow. We're going to be talking with Jim with optimum batteries. They had a product release. We'll let him talk a little bit about that. They've got some exciting things. They've got a couple of rivian sitting over there. For a specific reason, then we'll talk a little bit about that more tomorrow in that podcast. So make sure you again are subscribed to our podcast as well as our YouTube channel because we will have a live feed there. So YouTube dot com slash parts kind of gurus. Now, what else did we have going on? Oh, our guys over in the overland expo area, we got skinny guys, skinny guy campers, we're

It's an all electric. That thing was insane. If you haven't seen that video, we'll try to get you a link to it. Check it out. They're playing it back on the screens here in the hall. So yeah, so there's a lot of love being given to that sector of the automotive industry. We're happy to see that because again, I think there's some cool things that can happen in that sector of the industry. We're just kind of peeling the layers back a little bit now. But it's going to be fun. The other big thing that really that Keith and I noticed it was happening when we first started bringing you guys these shows we first started coming here in broadcasting. Is the overland experience. The overland experience has really basically taken over an entire haul now. Yep, go ahead. Yeah. So anyway, he's gonna take this and walk you around. And you can just see. So what I was trying to tell you guys was that there is carpet rolls everywhere right now. They've yet to get all this stuff down. We're actually sitting in a lunch area. That was probably for the crew firsthand the crews I should say, but this will all be carpeted, so they'll have to move all this stuff out as well. But this thing will be loaded with signage and lights and music and you name it. They've got until probably about midnight tonight to get this finally completely set up for tomorrow, show starts, I think, at 9 30 a.m., Keith and I will be here first thing in the morning before the show even starts before they start letting the general population in here. And we're going to just absolutely have a blast. Go when you around the entire show, we got some events that are going to be going on outside. That they posted up that we're really excited to see as well. Gosh, I mean, it's endless. It's endless. We could sit here and talk about what's going to be happening tomorrow all night long and probably not even cover everything that they're going to be doing. Oh, so hey, I'm back. Anyway, I don't know what I miss. You did miss anything. I don't know that we really need to get into much more. Oh, you got to listen. I'm not going to give away the farm tonight. "To do something and now for a mayor is ironically discussed as the team to be or Salva is the team to be. Now, Daniel Ricciardo doesn't go to hell pain. Here we go. Have a spell at alpha Romeo next year before it involves in two Audi, obviously it becomes a factory team. They also bought S either retires or has had enough or is trounced by Daniel Ricciardo. And stocks up Ricciardo at a factory Audi team becomes an Audi ambassador. You get to drive an Audi R 8 with Ken block in LA probably in between basketball sessions and Heidi burger. And it's an okay move. It would be Sonya hood's plan bay at north Melbourne. Put it that way. Our pain wasn't there. Yeah, I think Alfa Romeo isn't a ridiculous option. If you have hang on, let's just say, yeah, let's see what black women does actually. This instance. We're Oscar lens, because if Daniel Ricciardo is available, imagine the gross injustice for magic oddball getting that message. Just going, you've not only lost Oscar piastre, you've lost your hand or Alonso. It also lost any Ricardo to Alfa Romeo. It's my heart's breaking already. I don't think that's going to happen, but if it does, and robs the drama strikes again. Wow. Let it be known on Tuesday, the 23rd of August. That I came up with it first. Now I do like that I like a lot of things here. I like that because I do think the Alpine is the favorite one, but I do like or I don't like maybe I should say I don't like that at the stage of Daniel Ricciardo's career where we're talking about what might be an okay move. That's an okay move. Okay. It's okay. Well, it was good enough for Valtteri Bottas for Mercedes. It seemed like a hell of a step down, but he's actually. Compared to 12 months ago, stocks up bodice. I do like how much Valtteri Bottas has improved Alfa romeos, reputation. Very big 100% combination. Yeah. And he looks good in red and white. Yeah. It's amazing what a change of environment does. Big fish small pond syndrome. That's what that is. And for I mean, imagine having to ask people about tests and Ricardo is you draw a lava. That's a superb driver lineup. Underrated. I would describe this underrated. Dangerous almost. Absolutely. Now the final piece of this puzzle potentially. We did not talk about mixture back here because I don't know if he's going to be resigned, but again I'd also don't know who they would replace him with. Daniel Ricciardo. Would that be an okay movie? He's McLaren and Alpe. Now, in some senses, to start the show right before the first race after the break, talking about the drive market. Massive reason for boxes of neutral, huge risk because knowing how it normally works. If we don't get the announcement literally upon walking in about Fernando Alonso. Then we're missing out the announcement on the next day that piastre somehow left Alpine and all hell's broken loose. I am just checking to it now. No final, fine. So the question is, when or is it going to be our pain stand your car or is it going to be? Maybe Haas, maybe IndyCar? Not harsh, not hard. What about supercars? Absolutely not. No way. I mean, I know. Yeah, maybe the Blanchard racing team looking for maybe never say never. You would be. You were a half respectable rice team. Yes. You had at least put the offer out here because you never know. In all seriousness, if you have not had a conversation, if not just slipped a little business card to team Ricardo just then they're not doing their job. You would have to ask the question, you have to ask the question. It all depends as well, I think, on how good the hashtag would be, 'cause we know Porsche's trademarked finally with a wire. Which is very low hanging fruit to be on this. So I would have expected a little bit better. But if you could come up with a good Ricardo to whatever team hashtag. Yeah, F one cardo. Books of neutrals. This break is brought to you by liquor land. We have a special promo code for loyal listeners of box of neutrals when you shop online at liquor land. Use the

"Is almost everything has been done already, at least. So you can, you can shop around to companies that specialize this and have them go, yeah, yeah, we know what you're talking about. We've done something like this before. If you have to invent the process, then it's very expensive. Oh my God. Oh, no question. And then if you don't have to invent the process, it's just regular expensive. Okay, here's an option. I get a shipping container. Because they sell, they sell 2020 and 40 foot shipping containers that are that are indoor ranges that are air conditioned heated. That's right. Ventilated. So there is that option. Now, the problem with that option is if you put a shipping container, even though it may be finished on the outside next to the garage that I'm building that looks quite futuristic. I mean, you're going to defeat the purpose of the aesthetic of one versus the other. Yeah, it does, but there are some really, really creative shipping container builds out there. There's even an entire Instagram account because they follow architecture as well. That's all container builds. And in Venice, Marina area, they just rebuilt an entire little office complex. I say little, but probably 5 or 6000 ft², two levels, and it's all shipping containers. Like some of the shipping containers are the entire wall is gone and it's all glass windows. Then there's regular doors, and there's like a catwalk bridge going up at the top. You can trick them out anyway. Yeah. Ken blocks building in Utah, whereas for his car collection is and his office is and everything there. He has a giant warehouse and within the warehouse are all shipping containers to build the offices and all kinds of things. So you can finish them, however you want. But yes, you're basically using that steel shell in your case as the level of security that you need. But you can hide the inside and the outside. You can do what you want and take the doors off and do your own kind of doors. You know, you don't have to swing that big stupid metal door with the latch that like on the back of a truck. You can do something completely different. I'm a fan of that, by the way. Because I do like, I do like the shipping container architecture. I think some of that stuff is pretty cool. I think we've got here Adam Scott, I don't know, at least three, maybe four of the 20 foot ones. And we just had to move them because we're re paving the lot. And Sean over there has got them stacked. He's got like shipping containers on top of shipping containers. I think there's four, I think there's two and two, like two stacked on top of the other right now. And the 20 foot ones, and then there's another one sitting there. And then these guys should stacked up on top of that because we ran out of space. So up on top is like cars. Now, it helps that Sean being Sean owns like a crane truck. Well, yeah. Forklifts in a crane truck and yeah, he's got very creative with what he's done over there. But I'm a fan of that architect. The whole point of this was I'm not complaining. I'm just saying, you know, as anyone does and you pointed it out to me many a time that any alteration, you know, is time and money. And that's where I am right now, and it's only just begun. I haven't finished on there's no finish on anything in the garage yet. You see the speedy work and then it comes to a screeching halt and then it's all about the details. Yeah. That's where I am. Yeah. Well, I mean, an interesting thing would be the 20 foot shipping container. If there's room, you put it in the garage and you have this office within an office, which, you know, in my little warehouse because I told you it was rented. I just got like a gazebo, like with walls, like a winter kind of gazebo that somebody in the Midwest would put in their backyard. And strong some lights in it. And I used it as sort of, I use it as an office. I said in it every day. And computers in there are couches in their TVs in there. But the doors and the walls are open now, but I can close them, right? Well, there's a shipping container version, right? You could put a couple of windows in it, you can change out the doors, you can decorate it a little bit, and kind of figure out how you want. Or you could do a version of it, like you said, outside that connects to the building. Yeah, I mean, as I'm thinking about putting it inside, I'm about to throw up because, you know, I did just open structure to have as much open space as humanly possible and it's all going to be very finished. And I look to my right and there's a shipping container inside. But look, you got to go Ken blocks. Garage. And see, because we're thinking 20 foot long shipping container with the doors at the far end, you can cut out the long end and the whole like an entire front the entire side of it is like a step up, two steps up, kind of an entrance. With glass and whatever and sliding doors and then now you're putting the shipping container up against a wall and the entire front side is open, but you've got your steel on the top, stealing the side, stealing the bottom, stealing the back wall, and now you're just addressing a long wise, long ways, open wall, right? So it could feel it would feel kind of open. I don't know. I want to do. But anyway. Well, I'm talking about cars. Yeah. Some more stuff. But we took a little road trip out to Chris's wedding to Palm Springs. We road trip than the Cadillac Escalade. A lot of people have been asking me about the escalade. The new escalade has the big screen in it. It starts kind of a small little screen like on the left side of the driver and then the gauge cluster screen, and then the infotainment screen. I think it's like 38 inches long. It worked well. It worked fantastic as you're getting into that vehicle and driving it and spending some time. You're like, they did a pretty nice job with integrating that screen without going the way of just tacking on the giant like iPad onto the dash. Like this is a very nice integration of the whole thing. I thought the thing ran it ran great. It was smooth. This one was the sport model with the air suspension. So you can tell when it's going up and down or if you're loading stuff in the back, three row, but with the second row captain's chairs. The front seats, heated and cooled massage seats,.

"You know who's going to buy the escalator? I think it's going to be bought by a lot of racing drivers who cover their own vehicles. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I could see that. Because if you're rolling into the paddock and you need something to scale and size to tell you about your power boat or your race car or something and you're doing it yourself, and a lot of people just enjoy doing it themselves. Yeah. Then this would be a cool thing to turn up in the paddock in. Yeah, it would be. And you know it'd be beautiful inside and comfortable and it'd be great. So I can see that. What's going on? What's going on in your world? Another thing that excited me over the weekend that I just never catches on in the U.S. but I was watching the Monte Carlo rally and there's a guy called Sebastian Loeb, which hopefully people listening to this will know. I went on the acropolis for rally when I was like 22 and starting out in this world. And the EU is about three years older than I am. And he was this really young French king Carlos Sainz and Colin McRae were driving for Sichuan in the world rally championship. And they were both unlike multi-million dollar contracts and superheroes in this little French guy who barely spoke any English at that time, turned up and was just mighty. And they couldn't get over how fast this kid was. And here we are like 2020 something years on. He's 40, 8, next month. He just finished second in the Dakar. He could fly straight from the duck car to a test of a brand new rally car, which was a puma, which is Ford's little SUV in Europe. It's a puma hybrid. He turns up in the north of England to test this thing. Tens have been Monte Carlo. Takes on Sebastian ogier. I think he's an 8 time world champion. Loves a 9 time world champion, and at 48 years old beats him. I did get the two of them who've got 8 and 9 world championships each. Then they were taken on all the young guns and were just in a different league and it was just it was a bit like the Verstappen Hamilton in Formula One, the two of them just kind of took each other to another level. And it was just an incredible story. And what made it even better is that sebs now won 79 world rallies. He also finished second at Le Mans for Persia in a prototype. All sorts of stuff is extremely all sorts of things. He turns up, it a normal co driver isn't co drive for anymore. So he turned it with a 50 year old lady who had been he had done some testing with him over the years. She's a part time math teacher. Yeah, I was gonna say she's a teacher. Yeah, this is a teacher. She's 50 years old. He's 47, nearly 48. They get in the car. They dust everybody. They win the Monte Carlo rally, and it's just such an amazing story. And if you look the so much onboard footage from, you know, if you go across Twitter or any social media. And I know rallying doesn't really do it over here in the same way. I know Ken block came over and made a bit of a bit of buzz around it, but it's just extraordinary to see. And this guy must be right up there when you talk about the best ride drivers actually the best drivers. I mean, he was mighty at Le Mans. He's been mighty in everything he's done. Finished second on the dark car, flight the UK when the flight to France win the Monte Carlo rally go home. It's just fantastic. Yeah, it was an exciting weekend. I saw all the news and the buzz around. It certainly through Ford and the brands in the sponsors that were pushing it. But yeah, I saw some of the in car footage and always just blows my mind when you see some of that in car rally stuff. And you see this guy just haul an ass sawing out the wheel and someone's just sitting there reading a book next I'm going, yeah, you're gonna turn here, you're gonna turn there. They never even look up and see what's going on. I stare at my phone when someone's driving a car for a few minutes and I start to get sick looking at my phone. I can't imagine drive it like bad out of hell. It just read to map the whole time and talk it to somebody on my head to go and yeah you're gonna turn up here and you're gonna turn it up there and then some of the clips some of the carnage you see that there were showing just someone goes, they make it, they're flying through the air. They hit the turf. They go straight. Somebody just misses and they lawn dart off the side. Then they always cut to the in car footage. Here, they got going, oh shit. You're like, my gosh. There was a mighty crush with one of the pumas over the weekend. I think that's also on social way. He literally just powered off down a ravine. I've been on those Monte Carlo rally Rhodes. It's like, you know, it's like going at the canyons near LA, a lot of time there are no barriers or even if there are Barry as you go over the top. And then they send cartwheel down the cliff and yeah, and then the next thing you see is catalyst guy going out backside first and you're either okay or you're not right. I did I did a rally many years ago and there's a British co driver in the fortune got killed a couple a few rallies later and the treat where you hit a tree and you know it's still it's amazing what they walk away from, but it's still a dangerous sport, but yeah, I mean extraordinary skill, incredible stuff. Yeah, it's the whole thing is kind of nuts, but it was kind of exciting to see and congratulations to them for winning. There's a lady to go back to teaching at this point or she gets some kind of bonus maybe. I heard that maybe AC back in the classroom on Monday. And what I like about lobby actually both, but certainly about Sebastian is he looks 48. You know you get, you know you get these like Bill, obviously who don't look. And the guy looks 48. Look at the pictures of him, you know, he's got these kind of like weather beaten face, he looks, he looks a bit, but he was like a championship gymnastic gymnast at his teams. It is teens, so his signature is doing a back flip like a standing back on the podium. He was still able to do that at 48 as well. So he's like, it's like, I don't really like hero worship people, but he's pretty much up there in terms of yeah, you know, just in terms of skill sets, amazing. Yeah, by the way, I like that shirt you got on there, Bill. I knew you were gonna say. Big man's wearing his Provo sure. Make sure we get some screenshots of that at some point. Is this an alcoholic beverage that you might have something to do with? Yeah, it might be. Tell us a little bit. I guess we got to get into the EV part of the discussion at some point, so why don't we just touch on that for a minute? Tell us a little bit about the Hyundai. Because you guys got your hands on, is the ionic. The ionic 5? Yeah, the ionic 5, which is looks like something out of the 80s. It's also it's a cool looking car, sister car to the Kia EV 6. Yeah, we've been really impressed with it. It starts to cut the car we had was like a fully loaded dual motor all wheel drive thing, which was like 56 grand, but actually that's not really, I think where the sweet spot is, the sweet spot.

"Or maybe even if you took a dino Ferrari or you took a I don't know a Daytona Ferrari or something. And you really went out and sort of tried to drive the wheels off it. I think it would overheat immediately. It would stop like vapor lock. Those cars really didn't work very well. Right, especially in the street trim. But I keep thinking of like Goodwood revival and my slide around the corners because you're right, they're on the ten speed wheel tires, basically the bike tires. They're just slide on the guys doing all this work behind the wheel. Those old timers got skills, but no, it's true. I mean, I feel like I feel like the Goodwood cars and I've said it once they'll say it again. You will have a new found respect for Jaguar. If you go down to Goodwood, you for sure race those Jaguars. You're like, oh, this is not the temperamental divorcees car from Beverly Hills. This is like a full race car. I gotta believe that those full race prep Jags for Goodwood, those engines, you know, obviously they've been built by modern day, whatever using lubricants and cooling and those things are those things are ready to go. But listen, you want a lesson in car control. I get it. You can watch gymkhana videos in Ken block all day long. But you got to watch a bunch of those old timers saw it out that we all know it's old cars. And then you put on a modern day F one race or IndyCar race. And you're like, yeah, these guys are fantastic. But look at all the work those guys are doing just trying to get around the good one. Well, the Goodwood revival race is the best for, you know, it's not just the best for vintage racing. It may be some of the best racing. You're gonna see. And especially once it starts raining and inevitably it rains. That's when they really get after it. You follow Goodwood's social media accounts because they constantly post little clips of racing. And it's the greatest social media accounts Twitter and Instagram accounts. You'll find because every week you're gonna see two or three videos of just like you're saying just like an E type flying around a corner and a guy almost spinning around and getting it all. And then you hear some British commentator going, no, got a little loose there. Not nice save and keep moving on. It's the best 18 seconds you're gonna get every week of just watching cars fly around the track. I agree and it's the only time in a world where you watch Indy, you're basically looking at the same car with a different paints, different liveries on it. You watch F one, same car, different livery, you watch NASCAR, same car, different livery. A little variation in the GT class, but this only place you're going to see like a big block for galaxy and a mini Cooper. Yeah. And the kind of big block galaxy is trying to hook it up and he's pulling away on the straightaway and then here comes the guy with the mini Cooper through the asses and he's catching up now and it's like it's just it's just a feast for the eye. Yeah, it's super fun to watch. It's super fun to watch. But I do, I do feel like not enough car guys put that on their bucket list. I talked a lot of car guys and like, oh yeah, I've never been out there. Get out there. Go and watch it. And then everybody gets dressed up for that event for the revival. It's different than the hill climb. But everyone gets dressed up for that event, and it's a nice vacation. It's a cool event to go to. I mean, both the Goodwood events. The hill climbs a great spectacle as well. Right. But if you can get to the revival and you can find a seat on the lawn somewhere, just in a lawn chair watching some of it. It's fantastic. It is fantastic. And you will see multi-million dollar Ferraris priceless Ferraris and they will be going at it and they will be trading paint. Speaking of Ferraris, I think I saw in one of my vintage sports car emails or whatever. I think the most expensive Ferrari is showing up to some event. Some museum or something. Which is remember everyone thinks the most expensive Ferraris at GTO, but as we figured out from talking to Bruce Canopy, it is the it is that two 50 LM because it's the last Ferrari to win Le Mans outright. I think yeah. We're the last factory prepped one or whatever, whatever it is, production based or something, but that is the most expensive Ferrari. Yeah. And speaking of that, I was watching there's a Netflix so you guys, if you listen to the show, you'll probably be interested in this story, but there's a Netflix show called bad sports. And it's up there if you pop on your Netflix and it chronicles, you know, basketball players who are shaving points and you know trainers that were doping horses and you know, each one is a bad sport. Sorry, bad sport. Not sports. And, you know, it's an interesting watch. They're like mini docs. I don't know. That's about an hour and 15 minute Doc, hour and a half. I guess maybe different lengths. And it's the usual story, you know, the NCAA playoffs and the mob got hold of the raft and paid them off and but they do one on Lanier. And I can't think of linear first name. But Randy, Randy, that's right, Randy Lanier..

"Attack a minority man of color who grew up in Crenshaw in heinous conditions and manners And so you have this situation where the press played the race card on Larry elder And they played the race card on every black conservative like yourself or Ken Blackwell Thomas sole whoever it is they played the race card to shut you up because you're such a danger to them Explain how you process the easy defeat of Larry elder who himself by the LA tribune was called a stepped in Stepan infection black man the worst racial epithets were used against Larry elder and he's a conservative who simply wanted to get someone out of office that has failed but they played the race card on Larry elder and the liberal press did it Why Yeah well first things were putting me in the mention into some of those people you were talking about like common full and Ken block Waterways Walter Williams But because I certainly don't feel like I deserve that type of praise but back to Larry you're exactly right I mean the description that I gave a Larry the situation where this white elitist essentially calls a black man a racist because the white elitist his policies have failed and not only failed failed miserably and failed mostly minorities in his state and they have the nerve to call area this But my quick summary is what else is new I think if let's just play this mind game for just a second Bill What if the Gavin Newsom were a Republican And he tried that strategy against very older He'd be pilloried right He'd be dragged through he'd be put on the back of a pickup truck and metaphorically dragged politically because he couldn't get away with it But they will let Gavin Newsom get away with it And Larry becomes the poster child for everything black people shouldn't want to be And now what is Larry's background You just described part of it grew up in Crenshaw grew up poor becomes a household name now I got a jurist a juris doctorate and he's a lawyer and an accomplished one at that TV Fox News contributor radio host I could go the same thing Now here's the good news People like Larry and myself we don't care Call me whatever you want Because let me tell you something We are warriors and we're going to push back on it every single time whether it's coming from feminists or racist white leftists enablers who've created every single problem we've identified You want to talk about a race problem Look at the southern border You want to talk about a race problem Look at any city in this country and look at the crime rate where it's occurring and who's allowing it And I could go on Look at they racialized the woof flu They're the guy Ibrahim ex kendi who says the reason why blacks aren't getting the vaccine Bill is because they don't have access What nonsense is that you could go to any CVS or walgreen and get this shot for free The reason why blacks don't want to get the shot is they know what the federal government has done to us And they're sick of it How about an incident with Larry elder about a week before the recall where a white liberal woman put on a gorilla mask Hurled racial epithets at Larry elder then threw eggs at him And that was somehow either not reported or justified can you imagine If somebody on the right had done exactly the same thing to a black in office Maxine waters with the media covered it differently No let me don't even go that far What if Larry were running as a Democrat And they were trying to get rid of a Republican mayor who was a white guy with Gavin Newsom's background Well what do you think they would have said then I mean you don't have to look we can play these games all day We know the answer But what people need to understand listening to this program is how do you fix that How do you get to the point where you say you flip the script on them and you know exactly what would happen but nothing happens on their side And it's a very simple thing How about let me just say this thing to Billy Cunningham Step one because you're listening to non fake news that allows you to think for yourself and you got to find others and you got to tune out all these other media sources And when you stop I only look at their headlines I don't read their stories But when you stop feeding them when you stop beating social media when you start feeding Hollywood and this cultural morass that's out there and you start feeding it from the other side we will start to win And it will be a quick transition because that's you voting with your money And clicks are money believe it or not Kevin Jackson some of the morning shows of course president Joe Biden say you got to pay your fair share buckle up The congressional research service issued a report a couple days ago Saying that Joe Biden improperly used an S corporation to avoid paying taxes on book sales and speaking phase that he owes the U.S. government Medicare et cetera taxes in the range of a half a $1 million or more After all these cries about Trump's tax returns it looks like the big guy is the one who cheated the system but that is not yet been reported by the so called mainstream media Why Because it's not Trump I know Biden is a tax cheat and he participates in human trafficking I would think that'd be a big story but guess what It's not a story at all that Joe Biden is a tax cheat Hey Bill if you can't get anybody to report on Joe Biden's crackhead kid How do you think they're going to report on this I mean they won't even cover hunter when they've got a laptop that's got him with a prostitute talking about the Russian stealing his laptop Look there's none of that that's going to get reported And I got to tell you this is the reason why so many people There was a mass exodus from the Democratic Party to Donald Trump and to the Republicans And it's going to continue.

They have out there and it's so technical and just sideways the whole time. It's just so much fun And that's really what. I'm hoping to bring from nicer. Rallycross is what we found with nicer. Circus is if the writers and the drivers and the competitors if they're challenged if they're entertained that enthusiasm that that's contagious. The crowds going to see that they're going to feed off that when the drivers are excited. I mean shoot. I was just talking you know. We were midnight one o'clock on race morning. And we still got matisse extra and we got timi hansen and Your steve arpan. We're all out there and too many cooks in the kitchen for sure. But it's a a series made by the drivers for the drivers like okay. What do you want. hey. I'm not comfortable with that jump. Thank you scott doesn't like a lot of jumps and he's like okay. This is why okay. What can we do scott to make this. So it's safe and it's still entertaining okay. Great will hey. How can this race better okay. Well let's do this. Let's add this and you know it's cool because all of us we're all track builders to we all jump on her own doses and machinery and Learn how to run a bunch of different stuff at including sweepers all kinds of stuff at At eric so it's been a really fun process. And i hope that it does as well as all the drivers believe it can do. Because it's a lot of fun. I mean i tell you what rally cross. It's about as much fun as you can have. When you have rallied for so long you die. Couldn't be happier people. I can tell you. I know i wanted to be on site. Had so much going on. I wasn't able to be there but as a fan watching online. I gotta say i mean. There was five drivers. There you trav- brandon ken block and obviously we've got very in the wrc car but you guys at the start were trading stage times. I mean it was just a few seconds separating all five of you i i haven't seen a rally that close in the us in quite some time david. That had been exciting for us. A driver to be in a fight like that. Probably one thing being craig always said that the the ultimate pace at the front of american rally. And there's always been really strong but what's let it die and the over the years. If one guy has a problem then it almost becomes at such a big got through the ones with this valley..

"Come and live from the new england force rally chris leoni media director standard by at sunday river resort at least one stage in the books. I think we'll probably as we do. This interview might begin. Reports stage to chris but man You know the big story is david higgins is back in and this is probably one of the biggest north america or the one of the biggest. Us rallies. i would say in. Probably the last four or five years you when you say chris for sure. Jim and you know the first thing. Though that i've got to say about this event is that i can't talk to anybody here without having just an engine or a vacuum or whatever i had to pack up by media just to make sure that you could hear me because they were vacuuming the lodge and then i get on discord to talk to you and immediately. I've got some guy with a giant pickup. Just revving his engine behind me. So we're having a real fun time out here. Yeah no it's. It's a huge entry for any f. Are this year. We've got a thing about eighty-five cars. You've got all the big names. you know. Not only obviously the subaru squad with the strana seven. Can ken block running berry mckenna running. But yes the return. The long awaited return of david higgins to american stage rally to an event that he's won multiple times over the years and technically speaking. I believe was the defending winner of Because there was twenty. Twenty new england forest rally so Yep we're here They're out doing the second pass. It conquered pond right now. So it's gonna be really exciting to see what Those time shakeout to be you know what's funny. You mentioned that it you know about david's return. Obviously when kim block returned earlier this year it was a big deal. Travis has become kind of a staple on the championship. So he's kind of expected. But you know. Obviously i will decide i. I let the disclaimer earlier in the show. When i was talking about some stuff that you know we represent david. So he's been a close friend of our longtime company represents him but that being said like the fan feedback we say returns. Legend returns everybody side about. It's only been a year and a half. Since he's rallied and last year we can. Can we can kind of say. It didn't even really count. Because because a covert and everything else. So i'm like it is funny the fan reception online and from what i understand on site there about david and i think you know what i've learned from this experience chris what he actually means to north american stage rally. You know because. I feel like i mean people see him and they just associated with this championship exactly and so. When i was talking to david earlier this morning he was kind of joking around like. Oh i thought. I was going to get a little more backlash but it's it hasn't been that way. It's been pretty universally positive. It's a lot more important. The david is here and that he's running than what he's running in and that's kind of what everybody has shown over the past week ever since the announcement finally came out on On tuesday afternoon early evening..

"You've got a lot more longevity of a career when you're in a roll cage and i feel like andrew saw that you know and You know is racist. No cross racing motor causes young man sport. You know what i mean and it just is you you. You reach a certain age. You're just not competitive. When we saw levi lavallee levi's one of the greatest of all time levi tapped out on the racing side stayed on with the freestyle steidl. And now he's doing content. He's a team owner and things like that. But you know he kinda evolved. He he goes. I can't compete with these guys anymore. I just can't do it so You know he started concentrating on freestyle and free ride and content and you know and obviously he's got an amazing infrastructure. They're they bring up young and upcoming a snow cross athletes through their system. Things like that but he he adapted you know and i feel like Carlson same way you know. There's a year or two. I think where he was doing a little of both and then he went fulltime into Into short-course you know. And and they've got amazing facility the rx and he's totally dedicated to and he's one of the best in the world at it you know but it was one of those where he saw that you know he shelf life in short-course and you know and it was time to time to time to make a change and you know he's kept his career going. I think to be a professional athlete. action sports or a professional racecar driver. Nowadays you have to you have to do that. You know you gotta keep keep pushing ahead. Keep looking for new opportunities and carlson family. They only are extra part owners and they've got their shop. They're but they're doing events. I know nitro rally crosses coming there. They've got the short course event. They've got a bunch of snow across snow. Bike stuff they've got Trade shows that are coming in there. you know and they've really put a nice package together for For partners and beat a. b. and they're the total package you know. There's a few people that check all the boxes and motor sport and carlson's definitely doing that. You look at You know you look at a guy you know. We we talk about ken block..

"But whatever that's what he wanted to do. So i said okay i'm gonna i'm gonna help them out. And that's how. I got introduced to the whole sport. You know and and slowly like he had one co-driver in the states Ben bradlee and and there was one event. Ben couldn't make and i'm like okay. I'll sit in there. And you know i took a little driving course enough. I went and i wasn't very good. And then but you know that was like he was pretty good about it and then about two months later. His canadian co-driver in mccurdy he couldn't make one of the canadians. And i said oh. Okay i'll sit there too. And so that's how i started getting in the co-driver see we're just from managing his team and just kind of sliding in. Because he needed someone and so. I did that with him for a little bit. And then i moved to australia and i did a few rallies while i was down there and i said you know i love it here. This is a great country and you know whatever. And i said the only thing that would bring me back to. Canada is if i got a really good rally gig and lo and behold my brother called and he said okay. Do you wanna be on subaru. Rally team canada with me. And i'm like hell. Yes so. I picked up all my stuff and i moved back to canada and and then it went from there so that was two thousand and four and That was Ended up being a kick ass year. I when we won the canadian. Us and american championship. So that was the first triple crown right there with my brother and his first year. So yeah it started off well. What it truthfully e. That's another story. But i mean your brother to honestly go from really never even to a rally five years later like being with you know. Factory subaru canada and winning triple crowley. That's crazy that you i mean. You are part of that ride with him. But i mean that's that's a very fast i mean. Normally people take some four or five years to figure out how to drive a car properly. That's a crazy career arc. They're you know for both of you. Yeah like pat so pot is one of those guys that you know. It doesn't matter what it is. Whatever he puts his mind to like he is going to aim for the top. And you know he's he's a really smart guy. He's brilliant you know and he. He decided that this is what he wants to do. And and he put all of his effort into it and he he was really good. You know he had a lot of talent and and he went up the ranks really quickly. That's awesome. But then when i came on and he was already light years ahead of me where where he needed me to be and so he was He was pretty hard on me. When when i first started Like brothers and sisters. Are you know. And then but the good thing is and and i give them kudos to this because he was so hard on me i had to you. You know become good at what. I was doing really fast. Because if i wasn't then i knew i was gonna be under the car so it was the the pressure. And i guess maybe the competitiveness and both of us and whatever but it it worked out really well we. We had a good ride together. Well as all this is going on. I know you'd said the only thing that would get you to move back from from australia. Canada was good rally gig. I mean obviously your financial planner. Now did you have a day job then when you were doing all this crazy stuff cross-border racing in canada. The united states. I mean there was that whole decade. There where you were just kind of insane travelling in that where we're you working the day job or where you strictly dedicated. No i I wasn't it wasn't lucrative enough for me to just rally you know. So i did have some part time stuff on the side and so my my undergrad is in business and commerce. And so i've always been involved in the investment industry. You know since nineteen ninety seven. I guess it was whatever. But i also got my post grad degree in teaching so it was a teacher as well and it for a while. They're like i was doing for judge. You know the main one was Co driving and so that was my number one you know in terms of scheduling whatever and then working around that. I was doing some substitute teaching in french. Here in halifax. And then i was also working for my father's financial planning business and i was also translating press relates releases for for from french to english. So these four jobs. I had all worked really well around each. And then and i never got bored. I was always doing something different. You know but It all it just worked really well and so I'm lucky in the sense that i was able to do all that. And and you know. Do what i wanted to do my passion which is rallying and still make ends meet by doing all these other things too. So it's i was lucky. Not everyone can do that. So no and i kind kinda there was. I feel like this period. And i don't want to call it. The golden era of rally in north america. That's that's discrediting a lotta guys like john. Buffum and people like that in the past. I don't i want to be careful with the way. I word things but there was an era of rally in the united states and canada. Where a lot of it was. When the action sports people pastrana came. In and dave mirra and obviously a factor teams in candidate here in the states and x. games got involved. You're able to do x. Games a couple of times but i mean. Do you feel fortunate like there was just that era there where rally became really almost mainstream. You know in north america. And i know it has been in canada and you guys have had a great television package up there but here in the states. I mean you're a part of that. And and i really i. It's hard to replicate it. I mean it was on. Tv allotted and things. Like that. i mean you know. Do you feel fortunate to be a part of that and been able to do x. Games because like i don't see that changing in the next decade and i look back previously and it just wasn't there you know but you are a part of that i don't wanna say golden era but that special era rally here in america. Yeah it was really cool to be a part of for sure. Like and i think it's it it was just before like social media really caught on. You know now everything. Is you know social media all online and whatever but just prior to that Like you said you know. There were the the amazing tv packages in in canada. We had a great tv show. That was the year after year after year. And of course you know. They tried in the states as well on espn and whatever was involved in that too And and with x. Games and everything. It was gaining momentum. You know in the average person's home and more and more people were you know new rally was it was it was becoming a bit more mainstream like you say but Now it's different in the sense that you know there's still a lot of exposure but it's not you know you're not Necessarily seeing it on the espn zone the tsn's and already yes and whatever It's just a whole different outlets so for me to be part of both in front of the camera and behind the camera on both sides of the border it was just you know it was amazing. And i'm glad that i was able to to be part of that. And like you said with travis. And dave and ken block to they all kind of came in around the same time and it was it. Was this injection of a different kind of life into the sport that we didn't necessarily have before so it was pretty cool to be around for all that and.

"The people in New York who won't leave The ones that are still under rent control. That has ridiculously low rent and it suits they move out. That's it. They go to whatever rent the apartment manager wants to charge, so those get passed from generation to generation. No one leaves those Well, you know that there is actually A strategy in New York City. When you're looking for a rent controlled apartment, people go to Ah, funerals. To see if the person who just died lived in a red control of her home. Yeah, And then they present themselves as a niece. You know, someone of the family isn't there Seinfeld episode about that. Where Lane tries to get in. Yeah, yeah. It's actually a strategy employed by real people in New York, because that's what you have to do. S O. That's on there. You know, it's nothing surprising. Unfortunately, they're all moving to my home state of Florida. Destroying it further. One of the reasons I left Florida's because that New York, New New York and New Jersey creep was coming up the state. You know, used to just be in southeast Florida, like Fort Lauderdale or Fort Lauderdale, Delray Beach, Boca. You know, West Palm, Several family members that I have moved there. And, yeah, they sound like that, too. Yeah, um, great video by John Stossel on the block today, And there's a guy on Iraqi gentleman who is now an American citizen, and when he left Iraq and realized that there was all of this Kind of printed material and information and books and authors writing about freedom and the Enlightenment. He started an organization that is now translating them into Arabic. And for the first time ever People in Arab nations are being exposed to the ideas of the enlightenment, and this could be a sig significant change. I mean, a significant change. And if you wonder why Yesterday. We didn't get to the story about Homer Homer's Odyssey has now been removed from curriculums because idiot teachers believe that nothing written beyond 70 years ago has any value which is insane. Do you know why they don't want you to read that stuff? Because that stuff is the stuff of the enlightenment. That is the stuff that talks about freedom and democracy and Um free men doing free things and they don't want anyone exposed to that because those ideas are powerful, especially when you don't have them in your society, and hopefully that's what's happened in the Arab nations. We're going to take a quick time out here because I haven't even finished with what's on the blogged. And at one o'clock I've got Congressman Ken Buck. Coming up. Live there in a joint session. Right now we're going to talk to Ken Bucket one and then at 1 30. I've got Blake Street average. Chris. Views like coming on. Restaurants are back open under level orange, not at Foca Pass City. We're going to talk to him about how things are going in the industry. Overall, we will do that at 1 30. But first we're gonna talk to Susan with Ken and find out what's coming up in her news. As you said, Ken Block is gonna be talking to you. They are in a joint session, the house and the Senate, although they are now deliberating seven. Really and the capital is on lockdown, because if you checked it out, yes, the capital has been breached by Trump protesters. Actually, there Trump supporters and they're trying to get in and they're being pushed back. We've got tear gas being fired all kinds of things going on. And we're going to hear what the vice president told lawmakers just before that session started. 12 30 right here. Kayleigh, NewsRadio, a 50 a m 94 1 of him. Well,.
