You wait until Election Day. She's she's disenfranchising me. Should I change my vote? Because new information comes out? This election coming up is basically going to be a vote about not about Corona virus because it's that's turned into a steady, ongoing drumbeat. But rather the new three headed monster, which would be how we police in urban areas specifically on what level of proactive policing we have in the United States. Is it become a referendum on that, as opposed to Corona virus. I think it's becoming more and more of an issue. The national media won't talk about it. But if you look back when we didn't have enough personal protective gear, we didn't have enough Then laters. He Worked with the private sector and got those going and now we have ventilators and mass we have, but he'd look there was no playbook for the Corona virus, and I think he and Governor DeWine have done a really good job with that hand that they've been dealt. But We're moving faster with a virus with a vaccine for this virus, and I think, but we know how to treat this virus and I think it people are going to see that. Well, I don't know. I mean, I know that you're the spokesperson of the Ohio GOP. Jane. Tim, can I appreciate that? But I think we're in stark disagreement with the president's handling of Corona virus. Now there may be some of the trump people believe that, But by and large, most Americans look at this and go It was there was a failure of leadership from the top. Their failure of more or less empathy is what it was. He's not an empathetic human being. And he was exposed their times. We want our leaders to be empathetic. We want to realize look at them and they're gonna look as go. Hey, you know it's going to be okay. You didn't have that sense with the president. You can't change that about the man. That's part of his makeup. But this happened for him at the wrong time. In an ad element he was exposed. Well, I You know, I think that look, I think the president has always come on. That's fair. Jane. It's fair, right? It's a fair. That's a fair criticism. Well, I actually that I think to be honest with you. My father passed away in June of this year, and the president called me and talking his condolences to me. I think that there is a side of the president and a lot of people don't see And I think you carry deeply about the people whose lives two blocks I've been lost on DH. I think he's just trying to do his level. Best to make sure this country is coming out of this pandemic and with a better economics into the great American come back, and I think that, as I said previously, there is no playbook for this, and I think he and his administration and the people that have been working on the Corona Virus task force I've done a pretty good job. Well, I would say that, you know, you mentioned Governor Mike the one..

Seattle Public Schools plans to delay start to school year
"Education Association is pushing back the start of the coming school year by two days. The Seattle school District says the delay will give teachers more time to train for remote instruction and issues surrounding racial equity. More from Kemal's calling Johnson teachers will now have six full days of training in common learning platforms and culturally responsive instruction in a remote setting. Superintendent Denise You know, said the additional training will help them keep the commitment to reach every student and every family. To engage them in remote learning whatever it takes to ensure that every child can achieve their highest potential in any learning environment. So this two day delay means school will begin September 4th for most students September the eighth for preschool and kindergarten students. The school board's still must approve the new calendar in recent weeks. They've criticized the district for lack of details on How grades are going to work, how attendance will be taken and how much instructional screen time versus independent learning will be involved. "Difference between his wife and his sister. You know, this is not exactly the kind of person you want with the nuclear codes and his hand. So you know, he may forget what they are and think their zip code and press a button. So you know, I think that they're going to do everything they can to hide him and try to put Kemal Harris forward as this great example of the Indo Asian African American experience, and the question here. You effectively show that identity politics is one of the things that's destroying the mission of the United States that the strategy adopted by the Democrats has been to get people focused on the most narrow interest. It's almost like tribal or family or racial or religious or what's going on in their neighborhood and ignore the fact that we are culturally a nation and a nation that was imbued with a mission by its founding fathers and founding documents and again. This is something that the president has to make clear that when he talks about American sovereignty, just not talking about being against the rest of the world. He's talking about the idea that a sovereign Republic has to act in the interests of all its people. Not just, you know, gay African Americans with you know who are Muslims or You can make it so extreme and and narrow that it loses any sense except for people who are demoralized and frightened. So I think a call to a national mission, uh, which did work in 2016. I think that could work again. Today. Biden has nothing to counter it. So if I were the Democrats, I would come up with Run an excuse after another. And of course the media will let him get away with it. The deep state focuses on chaos, chaos operations and one of the latest chaos operations. Has been the BLM antifa quote, peaceful protests and quote that they're nothing more than riots, looting death destruction in the like Harley. What do you believe is the best way that they should? Because black lives matter? I mean, But look, all lives matter. Black lives matter what you name it across the board. But black lives matter is described by one of its founders. Patrice Coolers in 2015 is being a Marxist terrorist organization. Harley. What is the How should many people you hear the headlines right? Just today? 19 people shot in Cincinnati we had the black lives matter is destroying the magnificent mile in Chicago this week. Parley. Obviously, the way is it is being handled. They are still having an adverse effect on the on the American public on our country and freedoms of every American. Charlie. How should they be? Did what should be done. How should they be address? Both Antifa and black lives matters Well, I saw a poll that said that 80% of the African American community runs more. Not less. Police protection, right? Exactly. I think that's where you start. If people don't feel safe in their neighborhoods, it's not a question of a racial question. It's a question of whether you have a commitment. To protect the security of people, IVs and property and one of the best ways to address this is to expose who's funding these operations and then their stories out there about the role of sorrows through the Tides Foundation, all sorts of other fronts. The Ford Foundation, they're extorting major corporations. On the basis of if you don't give money to be, Alem, you're racist. So you have you have to expose that. But then, as I said, the other thing you have to do is we have to restore the idea that our nation has a commitment to the dignity of every human being. To give.
Initial Reactions Vary To Biden's Choice Of Kamala Harris As VP
"Election in 2020. Unlike anything we've ever experienced Joe Biden, who will be nominated next week in a mostly virtual Democratic national convention, announcing that California Senator Kamala Harris will be his running mate. They had their first appearance together Wednesday, and Wilmington, Delaware. Everything we care about our economy, our health, our Children kind of country we live in. It's all on the line, and with that history was made the daughter of Jamaican and Indian immigrants, Harris will be the first black woman and the first Asian American woman on a presidential ticket. Women across the country weighing in on the choice Commission. Grant is a professor of Harris's alma mater, Howard University in Washington, D C. Surely the attacks will come and I hope that It'll be the case that women around the nation not just black women, but all women will have this woman's bag. Keisha, Middle Mass is another Howard professor. If they get elected, which I hope they do, will actually be able to help him govern like a true partnership. And I think that's really important for America to see that black women are good partners that we will do the work that we will be aggressive and more currently, being a black woman with ambitions is not a bad thing. Georgetown University Vice Dean So Eka Colbert tried to figure out why it was such a monumental moment. It's difficult to decide for her. Because we're not used to seeing black women in these roles. She is a 10 black woman elected to the U. S senate. We have never seen a black woman on the Supreme Court. She is the first black woman to ever be on a major party ticket as a vice president. What I'm suggesting is that perhaps our inability to see her has to do with our vision for our country. And our third reconstruction. We need to reform that vision of the nation. President Trump also weighed in with his opinion. She is a disaster. She's going to be a disaster. I think for their party, and so did the man. Harris will eventually debate Vice President Mike Pence when he spoke with farmers in Iowa on Thursday, Senator Kemal Harris said she would change the dietary guidelines of this country to reduce the amount of red meat Americans can eat. Well, I've got some red meat for you. We're not gonna let Joe Biden and Kamala Harris cut America's meet next week, Harrison Biden will be nominated by their party to take on Pence and Trump will be nominated by their party a week later, both at party conventions that will be online on zoom on radio on TV on our phones, but not in person. "First appearance as a political couple. Joseph R. Biden and Kamala Harris. Take the stage at a random gymnasium somewhere in front of Have about a dozen people trust 105 50 k of why I appreciate you being here. It wass, a trump bashing fest. More than it was a Kamala Harris introduction to the world as we've already been introduced to Kemal Hairs were introduced to Camilla Kamala Tomato Tomato Harris in the Kavanagh hearings. As she was, as Donald Trump called it nasty. And he Waas starting, she wass. What was in polite. Disrespectful was the word. I cannot believe that disingenuous. Everyone is right now it's insane. This was a an event that started 35 minutes late. The reason why I started 35 minutes late was what we know is they were just needed to get Joe moving. And I'm not saying that to make fun of the man they were blaming a power outage. But as the news reporters were commenting on all our powers working, all of our laptops were working the lights or will his memory the lights didn't even flicker. And there was nothing. There was no evidence of any type of power outage, except for somebody heard a generator turn on. That was about the extent of it. Other than that everyone else's power was working, but they blamed 1/2 hour delay on the power being out one of the campaign advisers for Joe Biden Tweeted out a picture of Joe Biden sitting in a chair very, very awkwardly like he was resting like he was recuperating. And they said, Let's just say that at Joe Biden is ready for action. It was embarrassing and looks like there's somebody told him, Joe, please, just sit down. Just just just sit down and rest. That's what way they had to blame a power outages. It wasn't a power edge because Joe needed to gather enough strength to get up to the podium. And he came out with Kamala Harris, and he was walking very slow. She was walking a lot slower than usual to keep pace with Joe Biden and he took the stage to tear in to Donald Trump. To say some nice things about Kamala Harris and to talk about what an amazing thing that they're going to do for this nation. But make no mistake about it. There was one intentional one intention only, and that was to make President Trump look bad. We all knew was coming. You could have set your watches to it. Donald Trump has already started his attacks. Calling.

So I asked him that in this area that we're going to play for you here in a few minutes, and in his answer, he gave me what you'll hear. He said. He's gonna have forensic people, you know, Take a look at it. He also I also asked him about some other people that he's called Negroes in the past. He answered to that. I asked him about the use of the white power symbol Meghan Kelly, saying that she had nice cans. Ah, he responded to that as well and many other things. We even brought up Ana Navarro. He said that that was a quota quota higher. For CNN to hire Anna Navarro. He's he spoke about that isn't racist at all to say about well when you say somebody got hired on Lee because of their race. I think that could be very offensive. And that's what people are saying about Kemal Harris right now, which is absurd, which is absurd, while Joe Biden did go out and say I want a woman and I wanted a woman. I'm going to go. I'm going to hire nominate a woman of color. Who was you know, but to say that we're only here to to suggest her say that that is again whether it be hold on whether the Ana Navarro or or Camilla hairs just suggest that that is the on ly reason CNN hired Anna Navarro or that it is the on ly reason. Joe Biden. You know, picked Kamala Harris is extremely disingenuous and offensive. That's the point. I think we most people are trying to make on. That wasn't one of the reasons sure, but to suggest it's the on ly reason to me is completely absurd. But anyway, we spoke to Roger Stone earlier in the program, and when we come back from break, we're going to play you that full interview. It was an interesting one to say the least. We even got into his Richard Nixon tattoo on his back, but we touched on all the subjects we talked We touched on Camilla Harris, Joe Biden, Donald Trump the issues I have with Donald Trump. The issues I've had with some of the things Roger Stone is set in the past, even the night he was arrested, which was pretty pretty wild and pretty crazy. We get into everything. So we're going to take a quick break. And when we come back our interview with Ah, the man himself. Roger Stone. Take a quick break. Be back right after this. You are listening to the Vegas take and, uh, folks before we take a break. I have to know. I'm in the mood for a steak tonight, actually. And it might be a Kansas City steak it very well. There is no way That he can pick. Congresswoman Karen Bass right at that. He can't make that decision. Her ties to communism that plays right. That would be like a gift. He might as well just donate to the Trump campaign. If he's going to do that. I don't know why. I mean, there's there's something to be said about being thoughtful and trying to project fossil misses The counter to Trump's like just, you know, deciding by the gut, But I don't get why Ah, you know, Karen Bassett's in that mix I don't get there's a couple of other people, you know I get you want Susan Rice, but there's some people that just listen. It's Kemal Harris, or it's like one other person or else. And that's it. I mean, it's just You know, especially because You know, we are with Joe Biden. We are. You know, if you're voting for him, you are very much. Rolling the dice that that person is going to probably still in Yeah. I mean, I don't understand, built the directions that there's vice presidential search has taken. I mean, it can't be Susan Rice. I do not. The last thing I want to hear about is Benghazi for the next couple of months. Talk about just a horrible ending 2020 Karen bass with the ties to communism. I mean, they're right there. You know, That's where the Trump campaign wants to take the election. She's also got that stuff that she did with Scientology. I mean, they're gonna have a Field day with that to me, I look at it and I say based on the names that have been out there and I get the whole Kamala Harris thing, But I think Val Demings Tammy Duckworth's. Those are solid choices. They they enter in some, I think difficult. Circumstances for the Trump campaign in terms of lines of attack. I think those are the two most interesting to me. I don't know if that's the direction he'll go, but that's where I would be looking. You know, sometimes I think I think there's a lot in politics. But If it hasn't been Kamala Harris, then I guess it's not gonna be Kemal Harris at the point. That's what I said, You know, e mean, we're you know, we're in August 4th right now. You know if you're going to do it, man, you're going to do it tomorrow. Maybe Thursday morning. You know, just the way cycles go or you're going to hold up the next week. Something must be there something she must not like. They must not be. You know, I think your body's term has been simpatico. Maybe they're not. Um and something is Duck course, is such an interesting choice because Agents, just the exact opposite of Donald Trump. But I just I don't know. I just don't know if she is If she's up for this kind of, um, attacks from Republicans. I don't know if You know, are they? Well, they how NASA will they be to someone who even served her country and has given life and limb for her country. You know, I just don't know if she wants to. Get into that fight with these folks. I think that puts the Trump campaign and Republicans in a difficult position. And if I'm Joe Biden? I'm looking for two things right now. I'm looking for somebody who is going to scare away moderate voters, eyes going to scare away Maybe some people disaffected with the president, and I'm looking for somebody who puts the Trump campaign in a difficult position. Who kind of you almost want to go them into an attack where it's gonna backfire. And I feel like on a number of different levels. Val Demings and Tammy Duckworth's could potentially be that person. Where is Kamala Harris or Susan Rice or Karen Bass? They will go after them with everything they've got, and they'll enjoy every second of it. Yeah, I guess I really Karen Bath when I mean, you see how bad it's played, especially here in Florida. Let's hope that that one The Democrats sake is off the table. Let's talk about governor to Santis and I'm joined by Florida politics publisher Peter Shore. She confined him online at Florida politics dot com. His interview with South Florida TV host This was the 1st 1 that he did. Where was pretty extensive interview where he was challenged a bit. What were your big takeaways from that discussion and some of the things that he's had to say over the past couple of days? Rhonda scientist really wants a reset. They really want to restart. Ah, and but I don't think he has sold himself on it yet. You know, it's like one of these, um you know, it's like the Michael Scott joke. On the office where you know, he says. That's what she said. You know, and he can't resist saying it. And so, you know, the Santos wants to say no. He wants to say, X and want to say why, but he still wants to get in that little jibe against the media. We still want to get in. You know the dig on the data, and it's just, you know, as you're watching him. And you got somebody like the CD, you know, going out and defeating, asking the great follow up questions. I mean, this has basically been this great week of political interview. Follow up questions. You know, you don't just take the answer. You're like, Wait a second, sir. You also said this We saw that with Trump and now the Santas, and it's just like I don't know if the Santis his heart is really into the recent. I think he still thinks, you know, especially as you're watching today when he was at the senior center, and I was talking about like hugging. Your relative and that that's okay. And everything like that. He still doesn't want to get to that mass mandate, even though places like Mississippi on getting the Mississippi Alabama Now, he said, And this is a really infuriated me The other day. In that interview, he was asked about masks and he said, Um I also think its important to just be honest with people. You know the mass. There's a lot of disagreement in the scientific literature about how much protection that gives you How does he still not understand? When you wear the mask? You're mainly protecting others, not you're so I mean, this is like basic stuff. And there is no disagreement in the scientific literature about the protection that mass offer other people when you wear them. It's certain Insanally zero, You know, other than some people on O N O A And and, you know, touting a douchey interview from four months ago, where he made a mistake and said Mass don't work as much. All of the evidence shows. Not only that it affects other people. But increasingly for your own self interest. Like this week, we saw so much medical documentation coming up it protect you that even as you get it. That if you're wearing a mask, get a left screen of it. Alexis William went strange. So if you don't care about the west of the world, but you just care about yourself, which is so many people. Just where you know Hashtag where? Math and again I just don't understand why I don't understand why it doesn't start every interview with Hey, where math park about stuff. I got to go by the way. Beware, Mac. I mean, how hard I don't know, And he won't do it, and that opened the door. And that's the last thing I want to touch on with you that opened the door for our agriculture commissioner Nicky Free to put out her own messaging campaign on this. What do you make of that? Is that just she had an opening, so she took it. Is there some broader strategy there is this just her trying to show for a potential race for governor or Senate race done down the road that she can lead during a crisis. I feel very British Parliament to me feels very shadow Government like you've got to come up with your own thing. Even though it really you know, I don't know what the impact or effective it is. You know none with, um And Unfortunately, the Santas and free just can't go on the same page again. It would be amazing. In the time of a pandemic. I'm.

Stop a number of people being pretty disappointed with the outcome. Yeah well. Absolutely I mean affair is such a symbol, not just in Turkey or not just in the region in the whole world at points it was built in the sixth century. It was the biggest cathedral in the world. It was the seat of eastern Crescenzi for more than a Millennium and then it's really been kind of the symbol of the struggle for the soul of Istanbul. I guess when the autumns took control of the city in fourteen, fifty three, they converse into a mosque, and then when Kemal Ataturk the first president of the secular republic. Took over the country he then. Signed an order basically deconsecrated intending into museum in nine, hundred thirty four, and that's the status it. It's actually quite quite mean that's mostly because of the current virus pandemic coming normally at this time of year that would be crowded with tourists actually took his most visited tourist attraction, but I think the interesting thing. Is that inside Turkey this debate? That's not new. It's been going on for a couple. Couple, of decades, it's a question that sort of comes around quite six. In fact, you know I've I've been in Turkey for seven years. Now is the ton. This is come up in my time here and so there is this of feeling of fatigue I you know this is just the same policy policy again but I think it's undeniable, the for certain positive the Paul is. Very, much behind prison on the move is part of the society would be seen as. A big victory pick symbolic victory, but I think in terms of the kind of. The opposition to it. A lot of that comes from outside country. As you mentioned that the star obviously the Greek government's in holy. They still see Istanbul Constantinople. This is the as the center of Greek Orthodox also the Russian Orthodox Patriarch earlier this week, voiced his objection and of course UNESCO Ted. This is a world heritage sites listed by UNESCO. That's partly because of the The mosaics that were uncovered once this was ten years. In the nineteen th that is. On. The big questions is of course. If this is ten back into a mosque, what will happen to those mosaics depict Christ pizza version married picked him of the apostles. You know seen in, Islam, FIT Is is not allowed inside mosques. So this is the kind of places where the real objections are coming from, but it's quite interesting I'm you know it's? Really doesn't feel like much. Is happening at the moment here high? Sophie, let's see. We got the announcement in June a couple of hours. That's what we're expecting so. Possibly something will happen after that, but it's kind of. Yeah. It's still the same very peaceful, very unique. Is indeed sort of an eerie call just on some of those other international stakeholders. And he'll be watching on. We mentioned already you mentioned the Russian. Orthodox Patriarch of course. What about the relationship mean does this tell us anything about the relationship between assemble in Moscow more broadly, maybe more politically because there's various other sort of proxy disagreements agreements. There's other places Libya that seemed to sort of muddy. The waters is this. Does this need to be to be viewed in that context in your view? Show, I think the relationship with Russia is actually the one thing that might give president or pause for thought on this now what we see as I said before the Greeks are. Very opposed to this the US. State Department might POMPEII stems as well, but you know that's kind of old hat fred when he doesn't really care about. Stoking rows with Greece and with the US. Because he's got huge amounts of disagreements with those countries anyway, but when it comes to Russia, it's been quite an interesting situation in Russia. Turkey for the past five years on one level as you say in Libya also in Syria they're. Backing opposing forces, but at the same time, the personal relationship between two President Putin has gone incredibly close, and in other ways. Russia has been backing sick. I guess trying to woo. Tick to a certain extent away from its more traditional allies in the West, so we've seen for example side of the one hundred defense system. From Russia Turkey we've seen many many pets meetings in about trade and defense mutual security between. One impeach him now. The question is if this. Decision goes ahead and the conversion goes ahead then how much opposition will come from from the Kremlin? Clearly, the Patriarch Russian Orthodox Patriarch. Expressed his opposition. That's to be expected, but we also know that religion plays a big part in Russian. Politics today, so would it. Would it carry on further? The featured does it were? Would President Putin be the next person's kind of expresses displeasure, and how would that affect the relationship Tweeden's? I stopped really great to speak to you and thanks for reporting for us right from the scene of this Hannah Lucinda Smith In estan standard joining us on the briefing Monaco Twenty Four.
