"Not worried about that. But I mean, uh, you know, it's pretty obvious you with with both Newton and with these guys on the bills or any other guy in the league who has chosen to not be vaccinated. That if this if this happens on a Wednesday of a regular season game week, guess what? Yeah. I think that's you know that's it and you know, and why wouldn't it? Right. Right. Like these. These guys wouldn't be surprised. Would they? Would they be surprised me? There's so many men. On the team, and this is a trainer like You had 90 players You've got, however many assistance and Everybody else you got more than 100 guys. I mean, people are going to. We're still here like there are going to be positive tests with all the testing that's done. And even with being vaccinated. I mean, that's right, Of course, just how how it's going. That's right. So what are they? What did they think would happen? I mean, I don't know. Like I'm not saying I know the answer to that. It might vary among these five players. Maybe somebody's surprised. They're probably all at least a little bit frustrated. Maybe even there. Could there possibly be some embarrassment. I don't know. It doesn't sound like the easily style to ever be sort of embarrassed about anything but Well, he's talked about this anyway. Um, who cares like that doesn't really matter how they feel. It would matter, a gas analyst. Maybe they change their mind on the they change their position that would Seem to matter in terms of the bills. Um But like Could it happen again? Yeah. So I don't know they they had Many, many, many, many, many weeks and months. To make their choice do all their research. And here we are so When like we talked about is very kind of a big big comment when Irvine said. Maybe I'm paraphrasing. It's close enough. You don't want to win badly enough if you don't get the shots. You're not doing everything possible. Yeah, right. Okay. Well, tell me he's wrong, right? Like Yeah, No, I know, right? I mean, um So Yeah. So what? So I don't even I don't even know it's Um, you know, it's it's uh, It's got to be frustrating for People, the leadership of the team at least like the GM and the coach, even the ownership who, you know, we we know that they they believe in the vaccine. McDermott felt it was important and he was concerned about it. And You know again. I'm not really that worried about anybody missing a preseason game on Saturday, um, but being unvaccinated and potentially exposed to the virus even through a vaccinated trainer. I mean, if if I'm in charge of the team, and I'm counting on these guys to be healthy, I'm I'm worried. I'm worried one of them might get really sick. And then that even takes you away from football. I mean, we just heard last week about Dion Dawkins is harrowing tale. Um uh And I don't say tell pejoratively to make it sound like it was exaggerated or something or mythical. I mean, I believe every word, he said. About how seriously he was down for the count with that thing and how much of a test it was for him emotionally and mentally to get through it. And, um, it still kind of blows my mind that you've got people who would be sharing a locker room and going to to play a very intense, highly physical sport. And still feel like like that. That's not enough evidence to support the idea of getting the shot just as just as a precaution. Um even if you haven't spent 18 months cowering because this I think is what it sounds like to me a lot of the time when people who are anti vaccine talk about it cowering in fear in a corner somewhere of the world, trying to avoid this thing like if you haven't been like that about it. Um, the reality is it's still out there and it professionally could have a tremendous impact on your ability to do your job. Yeah, it seems like that's right. Well. Just in strictly football terms here. I guess you can say Well, it's only the preseason. I'm not sure I'd want these guys to play in this game anyway. Write the bills, you know somewhat interestingly, on the same day had Isaiah McKenzie could hurt. And when we get to sell, we'll see what he was there for that, too, and we'll see what he thinks about that. But you're down Beasley and Davis among receivers for this game, and you might be down Mackenzie. And you know, I'm probably stretching it, I admit, but it's just like that that there is a it's that it's thinner than you think that that line between being deep and not is just very thin and so Maybe there's nothing to worry about. Maybe Mackenzie is fine. Maybe Beasley and Davis will just never have to sit down again, uh, throughout the season, but it's just like it can be like that. Mackenzie is somebody. You and I are both excited about. I mean, he He played an important role for these guys last year. And not only there is the return piece right there. Is that opening and so he might be. He might be mostly that we don't know. I don't know anyway, but I like the player. I mean, I thought it was cool. Like Milano was the number one. I think for a while there even keeping the how they kept their guys. Mackenzie is part of that. Yeah, he is. Yeah, he is. We didn't spend a lot of time on it because he's he's you know, his role is not as large as some of the other guys, and I kind of thought. Myself that he had performed well enough in that role last year that he would find something bigger out there, But someone would look at him and go. You know what we want you to be our cold easily. And we're going to give you a three year contract to show you how much we believe that And I don't know if that ever even got close to happening or not. I guess I sort of, um, I was assuming that that would happen for him. And I don't know if he chose to not go that route and stay here. I mean, I know he's talked about wanting to be here and how important it is to him to be here and having been here, you know when the receiving corps was Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes. And still here now and you know if I'm him, I can get that That feels pretty cool. But the security of a longer contract and bigger money would have been probably tough to turn down. But again, I don't know if that was available to him, but I was surprised when they were able to keep him at the modest price they did. Yep. So, you know, we're just talking like what happens here. The game for me is close to irrelevant. Mean last night there were injuries in the game between Jacksonville and New Orleans, Travis eaten is may be done for the year. Which You know, I mean, it's he's not a bill. Uh, to your disappointment and he is still a running back. He is still running back, and he's not going to play his entire rookie season. With this with this foot injury, or at least probably the reports. Once again, Adam Schefter, Ian Rapoport like 10, seconds apart, Amazing. Amazing reporting work 10 seconds apart. They both had the exact same report. I need to know one else. Huh? He? Rapoport said that Like possibly later on in the season. If they put him or anybody this goes for anybody, If you put them on injured reserve before September, 1st, which was a week from tomorrow, they are out for the year. That's it. And if you wait, then you can. You know it's obviously different so You know, you think about the injury a lot of which, like it's going to sort of be over my head. You think about the position in the team? The depth chart goals for a team? I don't know. I don't know how they how they will handle that. It's not our team. But it's it's upsetting just as a football fan. It's.

"That's always that's always an important part of an in speaking of not being on the field levin toilolo tears achilles during practice and as we've seen with a lot of achilles injuries for some reason with the giants over the last year or so. He's going to be done pretty much for the year he's not going to be returning. This we know is a very long recovery process. We've talked about on the show how. There are a lot of instances where you're not really the same athlete as you were before when you're recovering from an achilles injury just decreases your ability to be explosive after surgery but i think the perspective that we need to approach now with toilolo going down who was i. Guess in competition for tight. End three with kane smith who fills in right now for that spot. Do we just assume that. It's going to be kane smith and that there's no competition behind it. What do you guys think. I think i think it was going to be kane. Smith over levin to a low anyways i think the giants value levin toy lows special teams snaps but they also value the fact that he is much bigger body type of blocker and they would trust him. I think to block bigger bodied outside. Linebackers and diva thebenz. Now i watched the last giants film last year. And i saw a lot of levin toilolo on the ground to to be honest with you but i still think the giants Appreciated his leadership of what he brought. Canes smith to me is a totally different type of player than living toy low and they loved using him in that tracer sniffer type of role on the on the g. f. counterplay that they love to run so i think kate smith less calling less via or leisha penny really stepped up and earned that role that he's going to be safe in that specific role on now that would be in. Toilolo is injured. I don't even think. Kim smith up only the key. There's an opportunity for the giants not to select him but what there is an opportunity for chris. Is somebody else to step up and fill in. Toilolo shoes not Do you have anybody in mind. My friend i'm not exactly sure yet. I don't see anybody who really jumps out to me. On their current roster if cadence smith has improved his blocking over the off season you know maybe he could take that role in like the thirteen personnel packages. But i wouldn't be surprised at all to see the giants. Look around and look at the free agent still on the market. Maybe keep an eye on the waiver wire and see who shakes loose from another team if a guy who has a background as a big blocking tight end is maybe able or maybe out there to be scooped up to just directly slot into that role. And as we've seen with some of these other injuries and retirements and things along those lines. The giants have been very active to replace those players. So there's a pretty good chance. I would say that they do try to go and snag another tight end to bring him in. Just add some competition now. Whether or not that player actually competes for this spot. Or if it's just depth that remains to be seen who's even available to do that. Maybe as you're saying chris. Maybe someone just randomly gets cut. That is a decent quality option. Maybe they bring back kelvin. Benjamin now not certainly has the size we know he definitely has the way after after what we know what happened with his exodus. I would say that. The giants have a couple interesting converts on their roster people who are slotted to play tight end. Used to play other positions similar to kelvin. Benjamin only i guess he's guys are adhering to wait protocol and that's rice and john who was on the kobe list recently actually still might be there. And he's a kid from simon fraser. Who was undrafted big body wide receiver that they converted to tight end. They brought him in in our twenty twenty and they're still interest. And there's also tommy stevens who was a quarterback in college at penn state. I think he was the backup trace. Mix sorely and then he ended up transferring to mississippi state. He's another big body type guy. The giants i think just brought in so those guys can really kinda show. Hey i can hold up at the point of attack adequately enough against you know two hundred and fifty pound outside linebacker and start blocking some of the giants edges in a solid manner and they could possibly be entertained because they also have versatility which we know this. Coaching staff values and i just happened to peek out. Onto the no reason just peak at the currently available free agent tight ends. And i gotta say the only one who really jumps out at me as a name is tyler effort and yet he has been in decline. He only lasted one year with the jacksonville. Jaguars he's thirty one but he could be a guy. The giants could look at just as a veteran to bring in on. Maybe a a league minimum salary. dimitrios harris. How did you disrespect him like that. My apologies yeah. I'm not even sure if tyler for it really fits with with what they're looking for. You never know that might be a phone call that they they actually make they'd have to notre dame tight ends which would be a bit funny if that ends up working out like that but we'll we'll see if they end up bringing somebody else in. I'm sure that we'll have the time to hop on the pod and discuss it does end up happening so stay tuned for an update on that. We're going to get to talking about the giant brawl. That broke out at the end of practice early on in the week before we do..

"I'm host to nicholas fa- lotto and we are in the middle of training camp right now. The first week down there hasn't been hitting or still waiting for that. According to the new york giants there should be pads this coming tuesday. We have boots on the deck. There with ed valentine who covered many of the big stories coming out of training camp on friday. Show encourage everybody to go back and listen to that. A lot of included the kelvin. Benjamin saga that is now over. Showed up overweight. There was some sort of kerfuffle between him and joe judge and now he is unemployed. The best mine knowledge. Everything i can collect seems like kelvin. Benjamin just continued the petulance that he showed in carolina and briefly in buffalo. Didn't play football for two years and then ended up on the new york giants and now he is not there anymore. The giants will continue to go on. I i think at valentine's had this on his show. I'd be surprised if anybody worked out. Kelvin benjamin since this was dave gettleman the general manager that drafted him. But that story is now going to be forgotten. Eventually but i wanna talk to a about a little bit more of an important story. And that was the shane lemieux situation. It does seem like the injury that he suffered. He was carted off the field. It seems like it will only be a couple of weeks. He'll be ready for week. One by just estimation at this point he's going to avoid surgery and that's a great thing to hear. Because shane lemieux he had his struggles and pass. Protection was one of the worst passed protecting guards in the national football league last year but he is a very vital asset when it comes to those counter runs that giants love to utilize they loved to use. Gif and gt runs. That's guard and then the f. back which is that age back at h f. You can kinda use it. Interchangeably also known as tracers or sniffers which is played by cadence smith when they pull the backside guard and then they have cadence smith follow and take the most dangerous man in the whole of the kickout blocked from the man. On the line of scrimmage. That usually shane lemieux. They like running chenlan you as the backside gore because he excels in space and he's pretty quick out of his stance to locate that man. On the line of scrimmage brings just a ferocious nature to that play so it's unfortunate. He's going to miss some early time in training camp. We hope shouldn't be certain that he's going to be available for week one but the fact that it was carted off and now we're only here in a couple of weeks. Corn according to ian rapoport. That's a huge sign for the new york giants and was kenny. Wiggins who has some experience playing in the league didn't really play much last year now. He's about thirty one years old. He stepped in and filled in on the offensive line. Instead of zach fulton. Who's a little bit more newer to the team could be a product of that but that prompted the giants to look at a few other options which we will talk about here in a little bit. Now ed is an excellent job breaking down what is going on in training camp. So i'm not going to dive to deepen at that. But i wanted to kind of familiarize the giants fan base and the people who listen to this big blue view. Podcast feed about some of the newer giants that they brought in look with kelvin benjamin vacated with to kwon mozelle being put on injured reserve and then inevitably being released there was a couple roster spots open so the giants dipped into the free agent. Well and broaden some guys and i think it's important to recognize that these guys are available for a reason. Now these are ninety man rosters for all thirty two. Nfl teams right now and these guys were available so i think we have to break that down but the should there could be some context as to why they were available. Whether that be opt outs whether that be whether that be then being injured or what have you. But the giants went out and they signed a couple guys i. They brought back the one. The only alfred morris now alfred morris does not have the juice. He's not a home run hitter. He's he doesn't excel with his burst but what he does do well. Is he knows jason garrett system. He has really really good vision and feel for the blocks and he doesn't have many wasted steps. He's a professional. And i think it's important that they brought him back. Now that we have sandra plots gummer on the list. We have saquon barkley on the pup on the pup list and he's probably not gonna see any in preseason a highly doubt that think it's already been ruled out and he'll be very limited because the giants taken a very conservative approach as they should in training camp and up until week one so why not bring back somebody who's comfortable with the offense somebody using garrick cam rely on and somebody who did a solid job spelling wing almond yes. It wasn't exciting. He's not the most exciting running back he's never going to be but he's somebody who can get you three to four yards. Hit the whole the blocking 's good he's going to get you possibly six seven yards. And then he will lower shoulder and fall forward because alfred morris is solid at doing that. He's not somebody who's going to get hit and planted. He picks up those tough yardage so the giants bring him back to pair with corey. Clement to pair with devante booker right now. And i'm open to that. You have ninety men. I want this roster to be full all ninety. It seems like for a couple of days. They were not as they were waiting to see who exactly they wanted to bring in. That was talk that they were going to work out austin writer. Who was the center for the kansas city chiefs. I was really excited about that. But they ended up going with somebody else. And i'm also pretty excited about this edition and again like i said earlier. There reasons these guys are available. But the giants added former dallas cowboys center joe looney to their ninety man roster and i think this is a wise move because looney is has been a depth piece for the dallas cowboys since twenty sixteen he knows jason garrett obviously jason garrett's bringing back a bunch of guys that he's aware of alfred. Moore's joe looney but this is also somebody who has played significant snaps in his career..

"All right giants fans ed valentine back here on the valentine's views podcast as we continue to look at what has happened so far during giants training camp after after two days of practices at quest diagnostics training center there was a report on thursday evening that the giants are going to sign or resign. I should say veteran. Running back alfred morris guy who filled in along with wing golman for the injured saquon barkley a year ago. Did a pretty nice job averaged more than four yards a carry morris as a thirty two year old guy not going to be a workhorse at this point in his career but he's a pro. He's a guy. That joe judge and the giants. Coaching staff have respect for showed a year ago that he still has the ability to to run the football with some success and the giants are obviously sort of stockpiling running backs to make in the event that that saquon barkley isn't ready for the start of the season. So maybe this particular move. Isn't that big of a surprise. Morris joins devante booker corey clement. Gary brightwell as options for the giants behind saquon barkley. So we'll see what happens with morris. But but i have no problem with the giants bringing him back. He's a serviceable bet veteran. Who you know. Like i said gave the giants you know good production. A year ago showed a really professional attitude and seems to fit. You know with the with the joe judge program here new york so A pretty interesting roster move there by the giants in light of the kelvin. Benjamin release another Another name to keep an eye on is former giant gunnar slash wide. Receiver cody core. There was a report this week. That core worked out for the giants. And i'll be honest when it comes to looking at cody core versus kelvin. Benjamin i would take cody core on the giants roster every day of the week cody core. Before tearing an achilles tendon at the beginning of training camp with the giants in twenty twenty was one of the absolute best gunners in the nfl on that particular skill set was really missed by the giants a year ago as they sort of juggled gunners from week to week you know change that around tried to find the right combination of guys if cody chorus healthy. If cody cork and still get up and down the field. The way that he did two years ago for the giants. I would be absolutely thrilled to see them. Bring him back. Give him an opportunity to compete for one of the the final roster spots because i think that would be a huge addition to the giants special teams especially to their punt coverage group. All right something else that i wanted to talk about. You know his fans always wanna know who's doing well who isn't doing well what happened. You know what kind of matchups were there. What happened during the practices and you know at training camp in to be honest. There's not a lot to report from the first couple of days of practice. The nfl has instituted at the beginning of of training camps. Now they've they've instituted what they call an acclimation period. These first two practices were held in shorts and t shirts. they were really non-contact practices. Although of course there's a little bit there's a little bit of bumping and pushing and things like that but there's really no you know no all out contact. There's no all out competition there aren't even any real one on ones with receivers and cornerbacks. So it's very difficult. Virtually impossible to say well. This guy had a standout practice. This guy had a bad practice. This guy caught a bunch of passes. This cornerback struggled to cover anybody So we're really to this point not able to give you guys any judgments like that. One thing i will say is that wide receiver. David sills who was a training camp. Stand out in twenty twenty before his foot and lending on i r has shown up the first couple of days just in the sense. That sills is a guy who seems to always pop up first in line in in receiving drills..

"A couple of days of new york giants training camp a couple of Of interesting days in east rutherford new jersey and yours truly has been fortunate enough to to be in attendance for the first couple of practices so thought we would spend a little bit of time just going through some of the things that that i've seen some of the things that have happened over the first couple of days. So let's get right to that. As we as the giants you know get get further and further into the swing of twenty twenty one training camp and the first thing we have to talk about is obviously what happened with tight end. Slash wide receiver kelvin. Benjamin obviously released by the giants on wednesday after an odd occurrence on the field wednesday morning. Where joe judge spoke to benjamin where that conversation apparently got heated in. Also involved dave gettleman. There's a good picture That we posted on big blue of of gentleman standing in between benjamin and judge and there's also some Some video of benjamin walking off the field after that confrontation followed by dave gettleman. All of that obviously resulted in benjamin being released on wednesday afternoon by the giants an endless. And you know. I read the report from zach. Rosenblatt of nj advance media. Who did a terrific job in tracking benjamin down on wednesday evening and getting some some reaction from a very bitter very upset benjamin following his release by the giants and listen. I understand you know benjamin's frustration. I have absolutely zero sympathy for the man. This is a man who had not played in the nfl. In the last two seasons didn't play in two thousand nineteen or two thousand twenty had really one opportunity at a comeback in the nfl. And that's with the new york giants. That's with the general manager who drafted him in carolina in the first round back in two thousand fourteen that being of course current giants general manager. Dave gettleman i quite honestly. Don't think there's another general manager in the league who would have given benjamin and opportunity to make a comeback but but gettleman did gave him a tryout rookie minicamp and the giants signed him to a contract to see if he could make a transition to tight end. and listen. You know if you if you if you read the story from from zach rosenblatt of of nj advanced media this came down to an issue about benjamin's wait listen. He's listed at six foot five. Two hundred and forty five pounds and he admitted playing wide receiver out of preposterous. Two hundred sixty five pounds in. Apparently what what. The crux of the issue was was that the giants asked him after he had reported in going through mandatory minicamp at two sixty five. The giants asked him to report to training camp at two fifty one. They asked him to lose some weight before training camp rather than do that. Benjamin showed up at training camp at two hundred sixty eight pounds saying that. He had chosen to add muscle rather than lose weight now and he seemed to be flabbergasted on that judge on wednesday chose to tell him that the giants were going to find him for being seventeen pounds. Overweight no listen i. Don't get this from kelvin. Benjamin standpoint he had one opportunity to return to being an nfl player. That was with the new york giants. He's not going to get another one from another team in the nfl. No one is going to touch him. What happened this week with. The giants makes him radioactive and for all intents and purposes ends his nfl career. Benjamin had one responsibility whether he liked it or not. If the giants wanted him to report at two hundred fifty one pounds he had to make a good faith effort to reach that weight not to go his own way and do what he wanted. Benjamin seemed to have this idea that he was still. You know that guy. That was a number one draft choice that was supposedly an nfl star. Seven or eight years ago. Not a guy who was a fringe player. Who had a very slim chance of making the giants roster to begin with. And you're not going to make a roster. You're not going to have a chance at all if you refuse to follow the direction of the coaching staff. If you don't want to do what the coaching staff wants you to do. Then then you're not going to be around. You have no argument to make. I simply don't understand what kelvin. Benjamin was thinking here if he did not want to lose that weight. That's an argument. He should have made with the new york giants a month or a month and a half ago during mandatory mini camp and they should have had a conversation about what they thought would be the best course of action instead of having this confrontation. Come up you know at the very beginning of training camp. Listen benjamin set an awful lot of of nasty things about joe judge complaining about about the way. The judge treats people complaining about the his time with the giants being a hoax. And saying that that they were trying that they were trying to sabotage sham and that in the gettleman was in his corner but at the coaching staff as i said was trying to sabotage him and not really give him a chance and didn't want him around and and complaining about how much judge swears and in how he treats people and and listen. Joe judges not everybody's cup of tea. But i have absolutely zero sympathy for kelvin. Benjamin in this situation. As i said he had one opportunity to make a comeback to the nfl. That was with the new york giants. What he had to do was simply get with the program. Do what was asked if he really really wanted to be an nfl player. That's exactly what he would have done. But it's apparent to me that that's not really what kelvin benjamin wanted and now he's now he's out of the league and the giants will move on and that will be that you know as i said. Joe judge is not everybody's cup of tea joe. Judge has rough edges. He's he's not always easy to listen to. he's probably not always easy to get along with. But the guys that have been with him in that locker room for the giants for since Since the beginning of the twenty twenty season those guys seem to understand him. Those guys seem to him. They seem to believe in him so. I don't think that that you should get all bent out of shape about kelvin. Benjamin going off on. Joe judge and in saying that you know judge will will never be a success in nfl head coach and and all of the other bluster. That came from kelvin. Benjamin i just wouldn't worry about it. The whole kelvin. Benjamin experience with the giants has turned into a a regrettable forgetful of and. Let's move on from that and and see what happens and see how the giants fill that roster spot That that's vacated by you know by benjamin You know being released. The big news from thursday was the injury to starting left guard. Shane lemieux second-year player out of oregon carted off the field with an apparent knee. Injury giants released no other information other than the fact that it was a knee injury. We don't know how severe we don't know which knee we really didn't see how it happened. All we know is that during eleven on eleven he was. He was carted off the field. So apparently lemieux will have an almar. I on friday to to determine the extent of the damage and listen. You know will cross our fingers and hope that it's not a serious injury that the young men will be back soon and that he'll start seventeen games for the giants this year at left guard. It big move view. We went through on thursday some of the possibilities that the giants have on the roster if they have to replace him lemieux and include zach fulton signed as a free agent also veteran guards. Kenny wiggins who has started a lot of games in the nfl. As has fulton chad slade. Who's a veteran guard..

"He says he got nothing done on the off season like he was opening arm to figure this thing out and we weren't really able to make a lot of progress Sadly he said nfl cold business is tough. man is the way that this league goes is If you if you perform well you're supposed to get compensated properly for that. And if you underperform. I mean you get cut with no questions asked unless you have guaranteed money all right. So he's played seven seasons he's made Forty nine million up to this point cold business. He did say. I'm not broke. Everything's good but he wants to be paid like the top receiver and and quite frankly he's probably got another three to four years at that level assuming he doesn't get injured right of course is always the chance and risk. He's never wrong. he's a kassir in. does bill check. yeah right. exactly so as coaches. I've been around. Except maybe for tony dungy. Maybe jim caldwell unthank- frank causes too much will. Yeah you know what i'm saying. But you know. I most other coaches. I've been around screaming. Yes course and in really to make a point they want to get your face and they wanna give it away in these begin. Yeah i also think. Dave gentlemen because kelvin. Benjamin was one of his draft picks wanted to give him a shot shot and he didn't judge was like come on with this guy. All right so good. I mean that's the way it has to be bad here. So you're out of here. It is in the nfl to meritocracy. It's not about being liked him out like they'll give you a couple of years if you're a high draft pick but after that and you've got you've got to earn your stripes hazak wilson short yet contract ironed out or we just gonna go another day without the jets quarterback being the jets quarterback. You know I've given the jets a lot of credit over the last year and a half With joe douglas. Hiring of rob salah all the things that they've tried to do in the offseason. The draft short armed free agency signing right. The trading of jamal adams which i was all on board with who by the way does not have a contract extension with seattle and that thanksgiving contentious. I look up all of those things. I'm saying like finally the jets have stability at the top of their organization in this happened. And i was telling you yesterday. I said this is the dumbest thing ever that you're second overall draft pick is not in training camp when he is the most important player in your team and you were trying to do things that other teams don't even do and it's all based on language. That is a hypothetical situation three or four years down the road the point being and i think we've been talking about this but the point being is that if he is your unquestioned leader and you've invested all this time and effort in him and he is supposed to be the guy. Then what are you doing. I mean again. It reeks of the. I hate to say this. Because i don't buy into this narrative all the time but unfortunately in this case it's the same old jets. There you go there. You should be in training camp. Yeah leading his team and being here for every single meeting in practice. I don't care how smart he is. he's gonna get his ass kicked this year. There's no question about and and the faster that that starts to happen the better it will be for the organisation moving forward shot. I dunno. I have josh johnson. Will i mean what what what's this. What they're looking at other quarterbacks now mike white and they're taking first team reps yesterday. I don't want to kill those guys. They're trying to make a name for themselves and they have an opportunity. they're not going to be the star. We all know that yeah. I think they've left themselves. Bear in the covered. I will say that bringing bortles if something does happen to Bortles is out there. You gotta remember so. The quarterback coach rob cowpeas. He and bortles her buddies from their days. Aw bingo get them. Here makes a ton of. I don't know if that will be the case. But i do. I do know this that he needs to be in the camp..

"Good combination. We've made a lot of changes to our football operations. Staff added some talented new people. I just feel like we're moving in the right direction. I think there's a certain amount of confidence and a certain buzz in the building that maybe we haven't had for a while. The combination of david. Joe is just the right. Mix for us so a pretty positive endorsement as we know. No job is safe regardless of a positive endorsement from your owner but it sounds like going into the season when it seems like every year we've talked about. Are they on the hot seat. Is dave gentleman on the hot seep. This is somewhat of a positive sign for gettleman as he is continually trying to buy himself some time. Here at the new york giants. I'll say this is the sort of thing you want to hear your boss say in public. I think this is the sort of thing. Giants fans want to hear the team owner. Say in public but realistically My kind of hot take on. This was okay. Yes you're right john. Everybody is on the hot seat every year. It was in twenty sixteen that john mara said i believe jerry reese. He built to super bowl rosters. I believe in him. He is the right guy to right this ship then. The giants went out one eleven games. They swept the dallas cowboys. Who were that year. The best team in the nfc east. The giants had a dominant defense. And there were there. Was i think by the time the season ended. They had that early exit to the packers but they had a lot of injuries on their defense. That by the end of that year. Jason pierre paul was out i believe. He had a sports hernia dominique rodgers. Cromartie had gotten hurt mid game. They just exhausted their debts end. They just couldn't keep up with the packers in the second half of that game but the giants had faith injuries. He had proven them. Correct and excitement was high. Going into twenty seventeen. Jury was fired in the middle of that season. Well in the last quarter of that season right after eleven. Eleven win season. They fired the general manager. Who built to super bowl winning teams. Everybody is on the hot seat every year. If the wheels come off this year nobody wants to see it happen but if they do if daniel jones doesn't take the step the giants need him to. It will not be dave gettleman who picks their next quarterback. If leonard williams is getting paid twenty million dollars and has a one sack season yet that will reflect badly on dave gettleman and his seat will get warm quick so the reality is in the nfl. It is a what have you done for me lately. League and john mero. He is probably honest. Feeling excitement for the coming season and believing he has a good combination with dave gettleman. Joe judge but it is july going into august. Let's see just how comfortable that seat is in november going into december or january. Hopefully things work out in that seat will remain very comfortable and gettleman will be able to leave the team on his own terms when he is ready. But let's see what happens. Yeah and i see this as an endorsement more so from what gettleman has done in terms of showing positive signs of progression so through the draft. A lot of these recent draft picks have been quality starters for the team. There haven't really been a ton of guys who have been like. Oh my god. Why did they draft him. Daniel jones is probably the most notable that i can think of where we're still not one hundred percent sure and that is specific to the fact that he's a quarterback and he's coming into your three you're not gonna have a full understanding of what that guy's capable of after just two seasons and one and a half as starter or i guess you know two seasons as a starter with a few games that he didn't start his first and second year but besides the point. I think it's him saying like they've made the right moves in free agency. They've made the right moves in the nfl. Draft gettleman has built this roster up. It is taken longer than i think we expected and the time line was a lot different than what we thought because he sold it as this is a win now team and we can rebuild. We're trying to win instead. It's just been a rebuild and they're expected to actually be highly competitive this year. That to me is why. He's giving this positive. Endorsement is that they are in a position to compete at a high level. Possibly push themselves in the top two of the nfc east if things go according to plan but as you said chris if they struggled this season that's when things start to. We actually re evaluate. I don't think the the tune will be the same for cattleman especially if some of these free agents don't pan out the way that we're hoping or some of these early draft picks in second year players. Don't pan out the way that we're expecting. It's all based on how mayor feels right now and that feeling can change immediately and this isn't just us. This is an us being negative. this isn't as saying. Oh they're dave gettleman still going to get fired. It's not what we're saying. We're just trying to indicate that anything can change but right now. Everything appears to be very positive especially for john era. Yeah that's just the reality of the nfl. Nobody's job is safe. Your job is safe as long as you are doing it. Well and that's really all there is to it yet. It teams generally don't cut players who are playing well if their performance drops or their performance. doesn't justify contract. They're either going to get cut or traded it teams. Don't rid of head coaches who are winning. If the coach loses the locker room loses too many games that coaches go on and same thing with the general manager. So we've got a couple of headlines that we want to hit on here for today that things that we're going to be watching now. That practices are starting to ramp up before we get to them though. We're just gonna take a really quick break for some adds support for this. Episode.

"Just to make sure that things don't spread around for any of the unvaccinated players i. I'm not sure. What the percentages of vaccinated and unvaccinated guys on the team. But i would assume that it's probably a pretty small amount that our unvaccinated again. This is just trying to keep things safe and healthy within the the the locker room so there is not any spread or just passing around the the the virus itself without actually getting any symptoms yet. And i wouldn't be surprised if we get a at least a ballpark number on. The percentage of the giants roster. That's vaccinated pretty. Soon i came out today. That about ninety percent of the jets roster is vaccinated. We also heard. I believe yet it was yesterday. Ron rivera complaining. That not enough of his players head gotten their vaccines yet. Which for him very valid complaint considering. He's a cancer survivor. Immuno-compromised but yet this is i think just going to be a a new story. We see different names but again and again a because even if you do have the vaccine you can test positive and yet we want these players to be as safe as possible. We don't want to see any kind of outbreaks happened in the locker room especially with the. Nfl's new rules. Where if a team has an outbreak and they have to have a game cancelled a game that can't be rescheduled than they forfeit. That and they suffer. All of the penalties involve draft position win loss. They could potentially knock a team out of the playoffs and we just don't want to see anything like that. So it's good that could area's. Tony is off list a. He's he had some trouble getting on the field over the course of the off season the giants really need him on the field for training camp. Just because you know. He is a rookie with really one year experience at wide receiver. He needs his as many on field reps as he can get blake martinez going on the covert list. Not great but the good news. Is there some time yet before they have to play a game and this isn't how you want to do it. But at least the giants get to get some look at their inside linebacker depth If you're looking for a bright side hopefully Martinez will be fine and office soon yen. I remember seeing that take. Crowder is probably going to get a lot of reps in this period of time so not having martinez. It stinks to see. Hopefully he's back out there quick. It seems like tony was back out on the practice field or not back on the practice field but available on off the list pretty quickly after being placed on it. So i doubt martinez will be on it for long positive as you said you get out of that take. Crowder is going to be getting some more opportunities to learn. And we're hoping that he's a guy who potentially steps into a bigger role this upcoming season and progresses from year one to year two. This is probably the bigger headline. Chris but the one that popped up pretty quickly today as recording this on wednesday kelvin. Benjamin the former panthers receiver converted to tight end listed and wrap to as a receiver slash tied in with the giants during spring practices. He was signed during the off season after being listed as a guy who was going to try to make that transition to tight end. He is no longer going to be with the giants. He's expected to be cut after a situation in which he went up and spoke to dave gettleman and joe judge and then he was asked to walk off the field so it seems like they made that decision pretty quickly. They don't really see him fitting within this roster as there's been some pretty big roster churn with some recognizable names or call armstead and here. We are now with kelvin. Benjamin who is back on the street after such a short stint and attempt at playing tight end position not super surprising for us as we we kind of we kinda lead into when we spoke on this the few times that we did in saying. It's highly unlikely that something actually comes of this. It would be nice if he turns into a tight end and can actually contribute but more likely than not he will not stick around the. The situation is kind of a weird one that basically he was seen having a discussion with joe. Judge dave gettleman on the field than than walked off. The field was asked to walk off the field now. Apparently he is expected to be cut a. Yeah like you said. We don't have any details about the conversation. What prompted it. What what is really going on behind the scenes here we. I wouldn't be surprised if we do get some details. Throughout the day on the there some insiders who have who are well connected in if they learn anything. I'm sure it'll be on twitter soon. In fact it might even be out before this episode drops decisions is kind of a weird situation. Isn't surprising that benjamin will not be a new york giant when the when the regular season rolls around. But it's surprising that he didn't even finish his first practice before that that came to pass. I think we were kind of expecting him. To at least make a real go at the transition to tight end and maybe let go after. The third preseason game during final cut doubts not making it through his first practice. Something big had to have happened. That's possible and i think that the other thing too is. It was probably pretty clear that they weren't going to to get much out of him. I almost wonder if if they're in the works of adding somebody else and they just didn't have room for him. But overall i think the the window for kelvin benjamin to flash what he was capable of was going to be very very short. If there wasn't at least some positives and some some positive light coming from what he was able to do. It doesn't surprise me that they weren't going to pull the plug pretty quickly. This is something that. I think that we all pretty much anticipated. Maybe not this quickly but kelvin. Benjamin gone possibly adding somebody else in his replacement is the reason why speaking of replacements there is An indication from owner. John who has said when speaking in an immediate interview that dave gettleman general manager dave gettleman is not on the hot seat. The specific quote after saying no to that is listen. Listen i was frustrated. The first couple of years the way the seasons ended. But the combination of dave and joe has produced very good personnel decisions but in free agency. Be it in free agency and the draft..

"Plus. Yeah, I don't have the answer. I thought I did. Former bills. We saw this story brain. Do you know it? By the way, former bills you got to let me give it back. Sometimes people tune out. I was a commercial break. I wasn't going to have them. Answer it. I just was curious if he knew it. So go ahead. But people don't know what they know what they're guess. Can I give the good question again? No. They have to listen all morning long. This is why you're supposed to listen for you know what You're right. Right? You're right. The heck with them. If you're not in for four hours, we're not going to make it up for you, which former Bills receiver is attending tight end university, hoping to restart a career While not being named Kelvin Benjamin, because that's an obvious guest. I think he was also trying. It's not Calvin Ben. That's the guy who was thinking of your right. The Calvin Benjamin Story was fairly recently, right, Wasn't it? The Giants or somebody was At a camp and trying out his tight end. It's been, yes, That's what that's what he's thinking. I know I know. You said it's not him, but that's the guy that was in my head. So I would just be guessing random receivers at this point. I mean, I'm down Z Jones. Is he still in the league? No Nazi Jones. Former bills receiver former time I'm laughing because I was going to say Charles Clay that he was No, he's playing lacrosse. He's in the premier Premier Lacrosse league, I think isn't playing the cross street. He plays. Lacrosse. Yeah, you didn't know that. Yeah. Now he doesn't wear his wedding ring when he plays across that somebody else playing football. Me see this bills receiver. Was on the team that broke the Route. Did he stay the whole year? Deonte Thompson? No. The Bills Drought year he played played and started and he started in seven games. This has had 25 catches one touchdown. Carol Prior was Robert Foster here. At that point, his career came here and died. Okay, so he had been in the league came here and then he had been with one team for three years had had Close to 1000 yards in a season 8 72 9 97 8 Oh, four receptions of 67 85 73 was 24 years old came here. 25. Career. Oh, I got this. Jordan Matthews, Jordan, Man. I forgot all about him. Yep. Jordan Matthews So he's trying to go to tight end. He's not trying. He is at tight end university. Quote. If you have the opportunity to be around the best, you always take it. Um, just that energy. These guys that are all gunning for the top spot. You can feel that. Yeah. Dawson Knox is or was or is. I forget it was held this past weekend. Maybe doesn't know is that tight End university? Yep. So that is my old man at the cloud moment. Man. You're just too young to be going there, But okay, sure. I like the company. Tight end university. Yeah, this is you shaking hands in Little league. Really? Why Really? You're kidding me. Really? Why? Well, they, um, Von Miller does the same thing with pass rushers, Okay? Why to impart knowledge on young players around the league to help them succeed in the in the league. Why Because tight ends are a close knit community and they want to see others thrive. Why Because they're good human beings. Okay, so the Niners and the Chiefs are playing in a very important game, and I figured it out. I got another go ahead, say why? Why? Because if the best tight ends make other tight ends better, everybody's tight end salaries go up down the road. Sure whatever. So here. Welcome to Super Bowl 50 57, It's Chiefs and Niners and Here's kettle over the middle. He shakes his guy losing catches the game winning touchdown. Wow. What a move! Mr Kettle. How'd you do that? Travis? Kelsey taught me that. What? What are you doing? Why are you like the Chiefs? Right? Hey, what's what's a weak spot on the bills roster, you know, might be tight end. It might be tight end. Hey, You know what? I'm going to do me? Travis? Kelsey, I'm going to make sure Dawson Knox gets better. Why? What are you doing? Again. Like I said, it's an old man moment. But my first thought is like Of course they should do this. I don't actually have a problem. You're so cute. I know That's why I'm wondering why you're like I'm not quite playing devil's advocate. But it did flop flash in my head like Careful, buddy. Yeah. Should Josh Allen host of passing camp with Zach Wilson? No, no, no. No. What do you do Get get away from him. But don't you dare teach you anything you figured out, Okay, but you're also talking now There's a difference. Obviously, when you're talking about quarterback versus the tight end, I'm not sure about competition. Know that Dawson Knox walks away from that camp and all of a sudden the conference swings to the bill's fate, Train devious white bring in young dolphins corners and give them a camp. Well, you should never talk to anybody in your own division. First off, you never help. Some In your own division Now. I don't know if should someone come on radio? Is that the tight end university? I'm not fun digs like Hey, Jaylen. Waddle. Come on over. I'll teach you everything I know. No, no, no, no, no. Oh, see all of a sudden, you know, like You never help anybody. Your division. All right. So George Kittle should not help. I don't know. Did the Rams or whoever did Arizona Young tied? Never help anybody in your division? Not in the division. That's fine. For sure. Um, keep going. I like this stuff seriously, though. Yeah. You know what Should the bills help? Let's see. Uh hey, Baker. Baker Mayfield. Come on. Come on to Josh is passing. You know, on the division. Howard says it's okay. No, no, no, no. Also, quarterbacks doesn't matter. What division that position. You never help anybody at that position. Okay. All right. Well, it is the most important position in the league. You don't help anybody at quarterback. Okay? So not in the division, right? No quarter quarterback. Alright. Who else do I need on the list? Let me introduce you to, uh, safety Camp and Jordan Player and Micah Hyde are going to host all a FC opponents outside the division. Get all their safety, Okay? No, no, no, no, no, no, them everything They know nobody on your schedule that year. All right. Am I doing OK with this so far? You know what? I don't have an answer for that. You're You've done it, okay? Yeah, I don't know. Why would they do it? I You know, I guess that's just a I don't like I said Von Miller has been doing the pass rush camp for a little while. I think that's not new. In fact, was it epithets? I think was that his camp last year or the year now? It could have been a year before it was. It was a zoom call. That's what they couldn't do it last last off season because of Covid. So they did, like, uh, resume school. If you will, for pass rushers and epinephrine, A was invited and he was in on that call. Remember him talking about that? Yeah. Yeah, I don't. Why do they do it for the good of the league? I don't know. That's that's a really good question. I don't have a problem with it, by the way, except, yeah, There's no way Josh is helping Zach Wilson or Tua or or Mac Jones. Nobody. No, Baker. You don't let your quarterback help anybody at that position. Sorry. That's where I draw the line. All right, Um, quick thing TMZ tweets us out. I don't know if this was over the weekend, Bruce Smith said this somewhere, but whatever it was, Bruce Smith says, there were gay players in the nineties bills teams and it didn't matter to us. Good. I just retweeted the story at, uh From TMZ is where that was reported. He says he is supports Carl Nassib the Raiders, of course, and that the 90 bills, he says, quote we had a gay player in our locker room. I think it was the mid to late nineties and I think we might have had to. But that wasn't what we were focused on. We're done. Instigators. Next talk tomorrow..

"But in 2020, they came out and just upped the ante on all of it. With digs at it in You don't go get digs to get open deep. You get digs to do the rest of it and get open deep like he's just the communities apart. Perfectly complete, excellent receiver I just continue to ask that question. I need more before I can just sort of put all my faith in them. I just last year was so good. How did it happen one of these days. When I feel like it's safe to do it. I'm going to share with you. Just a short exchange I had with the head coach. That I tell my closest friends about That is like so part. It's so much what's on my mind about this. That you don't know about, but it's like, how did this happen? I mean, I love it. I mean, you can't take away the the success McDermott has had even in that. First year. I don't. I mean, I think it's almost all luck. But at first year to make the playoffs with the team they had it did happen. They did break the drought with that team, so you can't take any credit away from him. But how that happened last year. I still just don't know. I don't know how they got there. Here is Larry with us. Hi, Larry. Larry Yeah. Hi. Go ahead. Oh, yeah. So I was just calling. You were saying about how you know what was it that made the bill change their often and the answer is that that's what the league is. Today. It's a quarterback driven league. You either have a Super Bowl. Level, talented quarterback or you don't. And the only way they were going to find that out with Ellen was to give the ball, put it in his hands and they go throw it. You see what happened because you know it's working contract. You got the third. It was his third year. And then you got to know. Are we going to extend them? What are we going to do? Right? Right. So you know that was that was the year that they just said. This is what we got to do. And neither the guy's going to be an NFL elite level quarterback. Or he's not. That means we're going to probably be drafted a quarterback sometime soon, and that's all excellent, right. I mean, that's exactly that's what you would do. That's why this makes sense to you this way. That's why I mean every game. If you don't, there's only 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL. If you don't think the guy that you happy when you were Super Bowl, you gotta go get another one. Yeah. Bottom line. Good job, Larry. I think you might be 100% right here. Getting connected with our fans brought to you by Bon Shinnick and King. A full service buffalo law firm. Joe, I think that might be 100%, right? That it was It was more than anything else. Organizational strategy. Let's see if we can win big. With Josh Allen. And if we can't, then we do the next thing, But this is how you find out. You don't find out with game plans like they had in 2018. And they fixed the fixed up that personnel as well. That's part of the same thing. You're signing guys to augment your offense and to test that further. Which is, you know, also improving your team at the same time. You're doing both things. You're improving your team, but you're also, like all right, we're going to really be able to tell here honestly. What he can do for us, and there were I mean, there were good signs. You did win 10 games. There were good signs in 2019 his running Mean, that is that is just another great part of the story on Allen that Even in 18 like he he ran for 17 touchdowns combined those first two years. It wasn't to me, though, right? It was the running, but The other thing I want to point out here is like they didn't just change in terms of like how often they were passing. But like what version of it because when they first got here who were the receivers they brought in? It was Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Homes in Jordan. Matthews like Just the guys with big names, but nobody that I would consider to be a great separator by any means nobody with any real type of speed, and then Allen's rookie year that started to change. Hang on. Hang on, Joe. Sorry, but Those are all Tyrod Taylor. They're all Tyra to Benjamin crosses over into Alan. But that's the tailor team were. Those additions were made. Watkins is traded. Matthews is acquired Benjamin mid season is traded dragging size, Yes, but like there isn't that change over until the mid point of Allen's rookie year. When they bring in Isaiah McKenzie, and they bring back Deonte Thompson like they start bringing back in guys with speed, and then the off season. It's John Brown and cold easily. And then it's Stefon Diggs, and to me like there was a There was a mindset shift at some point that this style of wide receiver does not work. This style of wide receiver does, and that's what we're going to go for, and to me that has played and do Large portion of how efficient they're passing offenses. Also, after the last couple of years. Yeah, I like it. Well, that that is an excellent strategy like you. You sort of try to Wind it back and then look at it. And then your mind goes well. Is that what you would do? You know? Is that smart if you like Larry The caller is saying, this is what I think happened as I told him. Yeah, because that's actually how you would do it. I mean, that makes sense to you and it's Mostly. I think most people would agree with a lot of what he said. But not everybody would, and that includes bills, coaches and even Sean McDermott. In the beginning who you just didn't think believe that at all? You know that? The quarterback. I don't know if that's exactly right. I mean, if you're Rex say. And Tyrod Taylor is your quarterback. You're not going to stand at a podium and say we have no chance. We have no chance to win a Super Bowl this way. I mean, you're not going to say that you might think it. I don't want to give him Credit. I not necessarily. I don't necessarily want to give him credit, though, for We're gonna We're gonna do it this way because of who we have. I mean, you get in there what McDermott has done that. I think I might give him more credit for than anything. What he has done is He stepped in and right away, even though they sort of slow played the first year to appoint only the Benjamin That's a mid season trade. You know, that was not a nothing deal or anything..

"And what we think or the best guys. They're going to start from day one of O T A's go all the way through training camp and make their decision. They got a got a high draft pick and Cody Ford coming back off a serious knee injury. He's got to show that he can still play. Otherwise he goes to the bench. Same thing with John Feliciano and Darryl Williams. And we've seen guys come in. We saw with Quentin, Spain last year who signed a three year deal or two year deal. Three year deal came back and everybody's real high, didn't give up a single sack in 2019. Five days into the year. Not only was he bench he was gone. The bills are sitting here at least in May in late May, we're Browning. I sit in. All of us are sitting. The bills look like they are neck deep in really quality offensive linemen were we mentioned forced lamp. And this man, he started 16 games for the Chargers last late, every single snap. They are sitting here at a place where even if they find five guys are eight guys who can really, really play. They're gonna have three or four who also can play Who I'm not. I'm just saying all of a sudden you You keep all of those guys and trade them for draft picks in the upcoming draft from a position of strength at a time when other teams are gonna be desperate to find guys like that. So Which guys? They keep in which guys? They don't Right now, It looks as though there's going to be 12 guys on this roster that we're all going to be really happy with. But they're not. Can't keep 12. Yeah, they're not gonna keep 12. This is for the first time in a long time. There's gonna be some really good football players who the bills had in training camp. They just weren't good enough to keep on. They're gonna play somewhere else. Likely. They're gonna have nice careers. Yeah, but I'm more than ever now. This roster is a freight train going downhill and you better hop on because if you don't, you're gonna get left behind. And that goes for all that That goes for all the veterans. We just really want. Just signed new deals. All that, like Feliciano, Darryl Williams, all these guys that signed extensions and all of those guys. You've got her. You're gonna have to bring it. And because every day One of the things we've seen. I said this about Brown and one of them. I was thinking about this. Think back to 2017 and certainly even 2018 to a certain extent when Josh his rookie year when their offensive line was absolute mess. Think about all the extra chances people like Andrei Homes and Kelvin Benjamin got When they didn't come through and didn't deliver. Right? Well, you know what I mean? I didn't perform. Extra chances week after we get why why didn't have anybody and everybody else? It's different now. Jump on the moving train or you're gonna get left behind. Simple is that no matter who you are, it's and it's amazing, too, because one of the things that it's It kind of gives me a little bit of a Wow. This is kind of an exciting field because This coaching steps. McDermott the staff he's got around me. Chad Hall. These guys, you know Eric Washington, Leslie phrase your table's Bobby Johnson. All these guys on this Staff. The hallmark of the Shah McDermott culture has been just what we said. You gotta prove it every day is a player or you're going to get benched. It's also been that they get the most out of a roster they get. You know, in 2017, they go to the playoffs after a 17 year drought. With a roster that was accused of being they were tanking when that season started, and they got that roster to the playoffs, they maximize the talent on their roster. And then when you get to this point in 2021, where you're looking at a roster going Oh, my gosh, look at these guys, and they're gonna maximize those guys. It's pretty exciting to think about that season coming up so Strapping. Let's go strap in. Let's go back to the phones at 803. Oh, 5 50 open line for you there we go to Dave in Florida. Dave, What do you have for us? Who's on your mind? You want to see this season? Who do I want to see it? Anders is the obvious one. But my figures that you're number one draft cry, Crusoe. Oh, yeah. I watched him at, um every game. This guy can break up a screen pass. He can rush any quarterback and catch him. And he gets his hands up. Okay. I think this is the guy that's gonna surprise everybody. Yeah, You know, Dave, you bring up an interesting point that I don't think people have talked about enough and that's batting down passes. Um, this is a guy where even if he doesn't win on the pass rush and can't get home If he's in the passing lane, have fun throwing over that guy. That's the thing it no matter where Russo stands. He's rushing the passer. The quarterback is gonna have to throw it around him. No matter where he is, you gotta throw it around and he's not going to throw it over the top of him. And you know, the guy's got two tennis rackets for hands. I mean, he's gonna best things down and puts his hands in the air talking 9.5 ft, Right. That's I've said it. The only thing you cannot coach and make better is Length height. You can't coach him to be taller. Uh, you can coach and be faster, stronger, heavier, lighter, quicker..

One the biggest loser from day one on asking these questions before. I told you that we were starting with these egypt's before the show The biggest guys they ryan tannehill johnny smith and Us down smith and corey davis They're going to have to struggle to replace those guys Davis probably more. So the jonah just from the standpoint of what he was last year with his production number two receiver sixty five catches nine hundred plus yards and five touchdowns. So we'll see what they do in in in that in that regard but i think Tannehill you know. I had him as the number eleven quarterback. I dropped in the thirteen after today. Just because i think it was close between in my mind. Joe burrow and tom brady put them behind both those guys. Okay how 'bout jameis winston ryan tannehill right now. It's soom jameis winston as the starter. I still go. i think it'd be messy. You know. I can't situation we're taking those not blaming So i was hoping james would go someplace else and tastes hill. Would still be the guy with maybe a rookie or somebody. Young that they could groom continued. Just gonna to get you know too much of the mill package of james as the starter and if as milton starter. Davis is gonna play very much so it just feels like it be messy situation oil. Who do you like better. Corey davis with the jets nelson agholor with the patriots. I think adler is going to be bad. I don't trust the situation. You know i mean he. He had so many big. Plays for the raiders last year and he was so good for derek carr but he did that on eighty two targets. I don't think he gets eighty two targets with the patriots. He's going to do the same thing. So with what cam does running the ball with what jonah smith brings to the table with. What the rest of the receiving corps will look like if julian edelman on the team if he's healthy Nagla is going to be A guy that's not on many fantasy rosters middle of the season whereas corey davis could be the best receiver for the jets. I don't know if that's going to be the case. But i would take davis by far over niagara.

Browns fire coach Hue Jackson ahead of trade deadline
"General manager with their old. Hey, coach, hue Jackson. It was destined to fail. And it did finally on Monday when the Browns released Hugh Jackson with time left on his contract this season and next season. So the Browns will be paying him through two thousand nineteen but it will give John Dorsey and Alonzo Highsmith and Elliott Wolff in the Browns for an office the chance to go hire their own head coach, they are I in the pool this year. They get the start looking for an interviewing coaching candidates right now, if they want to go talk to Lincoln Riley at Oklahoma taking go do that. If they want to go talk to any other college coach, they can go do that. They don't have to hide behind anything right now. The Browns are the first out for a coaching search. And then of course, they make the change in offense coordinator firing Todd Haley and bringing in Freddie kitchens who doesn't have extensive experience running an NFL offense. So it'll be interesting to see how kitchens calls play. Days starting Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. And so the Cleveland Browns the first team to overhaul their coaching staff, but the real changes came Tuesday with a flurry of moves that made this one of the busiest trade deadline days in NFL history. Last year was very busy. Because at the last moment in the twenty four hours leading up to the deadline. We saw Jimmy Garoppolo traded from New England to San Francisco j Gye traded from Miami to Philadelphia Dwayne Brown from Houston to Seattle. Marcel Darius from buffalo to Jacksonville and Kelvin Benjamin going from Carolina to buffalo end the almost trade of AJ McCarron from Cincinnati to Cleveland, the got foiled when the Browns could not get the deal done in time by the four o'clock deadline by the four o'clock deadline this year. There was no such thing. Holding back a flurry of moves. We saw de. Ver- trade Pro Bowl wide receiver. Damaris Thomas and a seventh round pick to the Houston. Texans for a fourth and seventh round pick. As will the interesting part of that trade is that Thomas is first game with the Texans will come Sunday in Denver against the Broncos team. That just traded him. Thomas was the longest tenure Bronco and get the Broncos say goodbye to him because really they weren't going to keep his fourteen million dollars salary around next season in my mind. The most surprising move right before the deadline. Came win Detroit traded golden Tate to Philadelphia for a third round pick. So many teams had made so many inquiries to the lions about golden Tate. But they had resisted all overtures for him. But finally, they broke down and dealt Tate to the eagles who for the second straight year made a trade right at the deadline last year Gye this year Tate, as they look to try to keep up with the rest of the NFC east another team in the NFC making.
