"Very significant earlier in the show. We were talking about r kelly who is often seen as and i think rightly as a musical genius. And we've talked a little bit about how that framework of being great can also cover over paper over and allow people to turn away from bad actions and so an actions that hurt others. So i'm wondering how you think about That responsibility of of carrying something like activists or civil rights activists or genius and how that reflects on the responsibility. We have that goes along with the title like that. Were you know. I fully embrace Whatever comes with named the genius and that responsibility especially at the person like i said Where i've come from being homeless addicted to drugs and contemplating suicide and so i took on that responsibility long before Macarthur awarded me. This honor Because i believe that you know that i was chosen that god chose me to work And that work was really number one Just so people. There's so many folks in our society who are facing obstacles and who you know looking seeming lee. You know feeling like they. There's no light at the end of the tunnel. And what. I do my body of work and who i am. Individual is a message to them that no matter what obstacles are in front of them that they could overcome those obstacles and avenue impact in their community in addition to that and equally as important. You know if body of work that i that. I'm engaging also shows people who may not have walked a mile in my shoes that cannot foreclose. On the drug addict they can't automatically foreclose on returning citizens informed car serrated individuals and that they could see what happens when we're giving people like me given second chances knowing that we have the potential to be a great asset to our communities and so this was something that i took on many years Before getting the recognition and so i fully embraced the responsibility that comes with being named the genus today. Talking about that that opportunity to use your talents your gifts your abilities your second. You know a law degree or your second. The one that you earn hum in these much more tough circumstances i think you and i have talked about my older brother before. Nine years older than me and i hadn't seen him at about Not i have not seen him face to face or touched his hand in more than twenty years and we recently lost Family member and he did not know that he'd been released and he showed up at the graveside. And i i saw my brother for the first time in twenty years. The first time that we've all been together all the siblings and on you know whatever. I see my brother. I thank god. He's he's so tall his good-looking. He's funny he's smart. But i know that's not what so. Many employers see. I know that sounds so many landlords. See you know what the work gets you off the track that i mean the track in front of that train. How do you see yourself so so. Let me tell you so. This is so amazing that you you share that story in about your brother. Because here's the deal you know. I remember Just a couple of years ago. I was one of the one hundred most influential people with time magazine. Right and i remember telling One of the negative there that they missed the mark because they put the rock on the cover of time right and i told them that they should have put me on the cover. Because you know. I think folks need to know that you don't have to be a movie star. A celebrity athlete or billionaire or politician have impact on this world right that if they could see a a a a drug addi a convicted person convicted of multiple felonies can homeless could overcome those obstacles and have an impact not only in this but on the world itself that they can do it that we all have what it takes to actually do something great while we're here on this planet but the other part of that is also showing and speaking of what you're saying. Is that that employer right today. That employer who headed the higher person with a criminal pass right could look at me and say man. We're not be denied desmond a job working for my establishment or the landlord. You know that that hesitant or these. Cities municipalities and police departments have these crime-free housing policies data so inherently A racist and discriminatory right. Would they now rethink that. Because they see someone who their policies would say. You're not you're not allowed to live here. You're not allowed to work here. You're not allowed to go to school here. You're not even allowed to vote to have your voice heard right and so i- diff- moment i think is a moment to really elevate that platform to help start shifting some narratives right because what you saw on. Your brother is what everybody says. Senior brother i and that is his humanity right. Not if the mistake that he made but his humanity and when we're able to connect with each other along the lines of humanity we treat each other mold humanely and we understand that that some live and not more valuable than other that we're all deserving of being treated with dignity and respect. Have you thought about what you're gonna do with the money you know at the end of the day you know i think Where my blessing come from is when i take the blessings as god gives me and use it to help others. I've done it before in the past Would find him. Fees fund where. We're helping people pay off fines and fees so they'll have to choose between putting food on the table voting and i will continue to do so because god always blesses me. When i put people first desmond. Meade is a civil rights. Activists and executive director of the florida rights restoration coalition. He's also author of the new book. Let my people vote. "Place and just know that if you're agitating someone that much it's because you were doing the work and you are right where you need to be a nanda. Thomas is executive director of act for a thank you for joining us today and promised me that you will keep us up to date on What happens next. i absolutely love. Thank you so much. Melissa on tuesday the john d and catherine t. macarthur foundation announced this year's twenty-five recipients of the so called genius grants this year's cohort is an incredibly diverse group of people twelve women. Thirteen men eleven of the fellows or black six latino and asian american and that diversity also cuts across ability geography and so much more like in previous years. The work of this year's fellows reflects a prep taking a scientific scholarly and cultural contributions. Taylor perron is a gio. Morphology working at mit trying to understand the mechanisms that create landforms on earth jecklin stewart is expanding the public imagination who are groundbreaking archival work on black film and monica muna's martinez is a public historian. Escalating the history of racial violence along the texas mexico border. Listen there's a reason. Macarthur fellows are colloquially referred to as geniuses. And we're joined now by one of this year's macarthur fellows desmond. Meade is a civil rights activist and executive director of the florida rights restoration coalition and author of the new book. Let my people vote desmond. It's so great to have you here. Melissa i am thrilled to be with you today. You just don't know you know. I gotta say this you know this recognition started with you many years ago when you name me a foot soldier. Arcade don't make me cry. We got live radio to listen. Macarthur grants are often called genius. Grants and i'm wondering out feel free to be called a genius. This is so surreal. You know and and i hear you talk about the diversity but another distinction of this year's honorees were that two of us myself and reginald. Dwayne bet were formerly incarcerated. People right and i think it's it's so amazing that know people like me. And and reggie of getting the recognition and the platform to really elevate. You know the work of people who are closest to the pain. I'm thinking about that. And this way that if you say genius just out in the world folks often think of scientists right and sometimes they really are right or or mathematician right kind of sitting alone in their office doing work and you know people who had straight a.'s in school and followed all the the right path and had all the right outcomes but one of the things. I love about this class of fellows is genius is so collaborative. Your genius is in fact in organizing in moving people in changing systems. Wow i'm still trying to process this melissa. You know Just to say genius next to my name. I mean i'm still in all you know. I remember back in the days. I used to tell people that when. I got my Law degree. I told him. I had to do a doctorate degree. A doctor in law and the doctor of the streets you know and and i just you know this is like surreal to me. I'm like i said. I'm still processing this but i am extremely grateful because this is an amazing opportunity to really elevate the work. That's being done by formerly incarcerated people throughout this country. Tell me about some of the restrictions that so many formerly incarcerated people. Continue to face the things that you are barred from accessing even after having served time let me tell you me academic myself you know And i write about it a lot in my book. But you know even though i was able to overcome so many obstacles because back in august of two thousand five i stood in front of railroad tracks waiting on the train to come so i can jump in front of it. You know recently released from prison homeless addicted to drugs. I didn't see any light at the end of the tunnel but the trained in coming out with able to overcome all these obstacles to eventually graduate law school and obtain a juris doctorate degree. But because i had a felony conviction even to this day i still cannot practice law in the state of florida. Because i can't even for the florida bar and believe it or not after all the success that i've had i still don't even own a home because a lot of hoa's have Provision written within their by laws that restrict me from evening owning or renting a house you know in the state of florida and so there's so many collateral consequences that people like me facing to me. I think the biggest one is being a prevented from participating in democracy. But at least we were able to overcome that barrier by successfully passing amendment for now tell me what amendment for remind folks what amendment for does and the effect that it may have an incoming years. Yes so amendment for basically Was a constitutional amendment. Florida that restored voting rights to people with felony convictions. After they had completed their senators and our efforts had an immediate impact on one point. Four million people in florida and so florida being such a critical state and federal elections or presidential elections right. This amendment have the opportunity to significantly shift the political landscape. Not only in florida but in this country nor For many years people fayez. Florida goes so does the rest of the country and you know with exception of last year. That's been true and so to be able to reinforce. Ranch is a significant number of people in the state in which presidential elections are typically decided by no one hundred thousand votes sometimes less than that was.

"That establishes collective bargaining rights for our police union. But more importantly establishes that anything in the contract can supersede local and state law giving further bubble and shield from any type of accountability legislation that the city or the state would want to pass officers. What wait how. How can a union contract supersede. I mean like technically. How is that even possible. I can't kinsley writing employment contract that says by the way i can do this thing to you even though it's illegal in the state correct so the idea behind it was that if they wanted during negotiations to establish stronger discipline or accountability or amended enrolls like creating less restrictive officer personnel file. Rolls that they would be able to do that. But on the other end on the other hand it can also allow them to put up barriers and shields to laws that would establish better transparency and accountability. So it is created this slippery slope. Something meant to be a tool for justice and accountability. Being used as the complete opposite. Okay what was proposition. B proposition b was a ballot initiative to remove chapter one. Seventy four now originally. We were collecting petition signatures to remove both of these chapters however chapter one seventy four only required twenty thousand signatures as a cap while chapter one. Forty three is based simply off a percentage of the amount of registered voters in the city with no cap so that's currently closer to eighty thousand signatures in san antonio and Unattainable during our first go round. But we absolutely plan to go after that again. But this would remove the collective bargaining rights for our san antonio police officers association meaning. The contract is null and void and they would have to create a new contract under a meeting confer law a different chapter which would allow us to finally have a larger say in the creation of that contracts and create one that allows for more accountability transparency. Absolutely stronger police discipline all right. So i'm gonna listen to a clip of john or danny de as president of the san antonio police officers association. He speaking here to news for san antonio and has a somewhat different perspective on it. Let's let's let's take a listen. We have over six hundred officers. Twenty years on more could retire. That's not including the young officers. There's no guarantee that the city is gonna give us the same pay or even less it were at the city's mercy same thing with the instruments. They're taking away insurance. We don't know what the city will give us. Okay so is that accurate. That the the work that you're doing here around accountability could also lead to a mass exodus of police who might retire also might leave them without insurance which which does not seem fair. This is part of the tactics. That police unions have used decades here scare tactic. for voters. there is no evidence that officers would leave in droves without a contract the city has no incentive to not hold a contract with great benefits with great pay for officers because public safety is such an integral part of our system. And you know the the six hundred officers. He's talking about that are eligible for retirement. That's any given year. Many officers folks and other industries are up for retirement and choose to stay for whatever reason so it was just a false claim that officers would leave in droves if we lost collective bargaining because suddenly the city would try to not pay officers or give them insurance even though they're city employees. There's there's no basis for this We do have other cities under meet and confer in texas. They tend to have more officers per capita and the same or better pay and benefits. That's what the facts and the data and the evidence show so why not want to go to meet and confer. Then what is this that is simply about being able to be protected. Even in the context of bad axe guess. The collective bargaining rights do set up a negotiation process. That will favor the police. Union always a grandslam more power and a simple difference really between collective bargaining and meet and confer is bargaining requires book parties to meet where meat and conferred. The parties. must choose to meet. But there's never a time where a city would not meet with their police officers association or police union When these are needed services around the city that we rely on so heavily. So you didn't win this time. What did you learn yes He know we learned a lot about fighting disinformation From our opponents We learned a lot about being able to take these complex issues and topics of collective bargaining and contracts and legislation that pages and pages and pages long and condensing it in a way that is digestible to your every day voter and we learned a lot about resources. The police officers association he ran a million dollar campaign against us a grassroots organization. That had not even been around for a full year yet. One of our founders didn't even know who our city council member was until she became active and involved in looked into this and they poured resources and disinformation into this We've definitely learned that we need to go heavier on fundraising but also just that that voter contact and using the narratives of folks that have been abused by police or lost loved. Ones here You know amplifying those stories because it does get the hearts and minds moving. And i absolutely think we can do this next. Go round now. If if you don't live in san antonio but you're kind of looking to the city for advice or or strategy or hope what other people learn from your experiences. Do the research We spent about three months before we ever collected our first petition. signature Every state every city every county is different on petition. Rules whether it's notarize in every page of a position or language that needs to be on their walking through these laws to fully understand them To be able to put it into digestible soundbites and we learned a lot about coalition building. I highly recommend that anybody trying to do this or similar work reaches out to community. Partners organizations It really does take a village to take on the power structures that exist Everywhere we live and suggests be brave. We faced intimidation throughout the campaign. So i also would like to amplify the need to have those safety protocols in.

"Little trip down to texas san antonio texas. Now here's a few quirky facts that you may not know. Did you know. President lyndon johnson married his wife lady bird right there in downtown san antonio. Did you know that. Fritos were invented in san antonio and of course the five-time nba champion san antonio spurs well. They're actually the only former. Aba team to win a championship in the nba. One more fact san antonio police department has the highest rehire rate in the nation right. Okay so rehire is when a police officer is fired for something like excessive use of force or domestic abuse but then is rehired because of union required arbitration having the highest police rehire rate is not the kind of statistic. A city uses to advertise its quality of life and in san antonio there is a grass roots organization fighting for change. Act for a a nanda. Thomas is the executive director of active for essay. And the former deputy of fix sap last may fix sap campaigned for proposition be. That was a measure to replace the current police contract with one that would allow for accountability transparency. And voter engagement now. The property initiative failed to pass but the margin of defeat was so slim so now those activists are reactivated. And they're determined to act for san antonio. When i spoke with an i asked her why policing matters are so important to the residents of san antonio texas. San antonio is a majority latino city but very very diverse You know they say we're military city. Lada veterans come to retire here. We bring in a lot of diversity but you know our police contract in our police. Union really kinda laid the groundwork for police contracts all across the nation and specifically we have an issue with having one of the most unaccountable contracts that has led to us having the highest rehire rate for fired officers in the nation at almost seventy percent. And that's due to our contract. Okay so you're going to to walk us through this step by step so i what do you mean a rehire rate for fired officers. If you're fire you just gone peace out. You're gone right so Just like exists for many unions officers are allowed to appeal their firings. Here it's through a process called arbitration where they use outside retrievers to look over the decision from the police chief to decide subjectively if the fire rain or disciplinary action was too much or not and so there's several options here. When officers fired they can appeal. Use an arbitrator it either goes through an arbitration process which is very costly. It takes a lot of time in resources from the city and arbitrator. Can overturn the police chiefs decision or the police chief and the arbitrator and the officer can have a settlement agreement outside of arbitration to speed up the process which often results in officer being rehired. How long uscis form of the union contract been in place since the nineteen seventies. It was brought in through a ballot initiative that had about two percents of the total voting population. Vote before we even had single member voting districts so representative voting through city council districts. Okay so you've got a police contract that means that well actually let me back up for. I had more time just making sure. I'm getting all this right. When officers are getting fired typically or do you even know from the data typically. What kinds of actions are causing them to be fired. So this is for general misconduct. Something that is not criminal or has gone to court so some of these actions are for excessive force domestic abuse. We had a case of an officer here who tried to give a homeless man a dog. Bc sandwich fellow officers turned him in. He was fired due to loopholes in the contract when he went through arbitration he was allowed to be reinstated and often. These officers are reinstated with back pay. Because of the time they've spent off of the force. Okay so you have a contract in your city. That's been in place. What nearly fifty years now that allows an officer to to basically abuse The people he's supposed to be or that she is supposed to be protecting and serving. And because it's so expensive to do a public process then basically there's not accountability that the public can even know about corrects. Also because our contract has restrictive rules on officer files we until recently have not even been allowed to view the arbitration cases themselves. So we can find out the results of an arbitration after it's happened but nothing that happens in the process in between the investigation the recommendation from our civilian review board to the chief. None of that is accessible to the public so it hasn't been a transparent system for decades now. Okay but what. I love about The reason that you're talk to us because you didn't just sort of look at this know obviously huge problem and say oh well i guess it's that way you've been working to change it talk to me about the campaigns that you've been involved in around altering this contract yes absolutely so under fix. Sap apd we really started taking a look at our police contract and we have to local government codes here that establish our contract. One is chapter. One forty three that was brought in through ballot initiative in the nineteen forties before most of us could vote right heavily. Latino city black people couldn't vote let the people couldn't vote and that sets up municipal civil service laws that are commonly referred to as a law enforcement. Bill of rights hiram firing disciplined sets limitation on investigations helps establish arbitration. The other chapters chapter one seventy four which also is brought in through ballot initiative. In.

"You made it. Through day to day. I had something That not one of the women that i interviewed had which was a history of engaging in therapy you know and And some resources to take care of myself you know. They were my own personal resources. We don't get rich making documentaries and that's a surprise to people but But i did have this history of knowing how valuable therapy was. So i immediately put myself back in therapy. I wish that we could have done that for the survivors. Whatever second my experience was nothing compared to them having to relive this for the cameras knowing that they'd be opening themselves for derision knowing that in this social media age where they all have accounts most of them public That that you would see the kind of comments that you saw even on dorando paces instagram. Yesterday you know There are still being trolled And and that never feels good know. So i made it through but i wasn't the most important person on the set and and and by the way yes i had to do all of the interviews and hold these stories but everyone was affected. Our sound guy. You know this white guy in his early thirties had never heard anything. Like this Everyone who worked on this project the women who had a pre interview. The victims from the team They had to hold these stories so everyone was affected. Why do you think we care so little about the assault the abuse the the actual missing black girls and women. Why is it so easy for us to literally look at it happening to them to watch it on video And to make a story that it's somehow their fault. Yeah that's a hard one you know and Growing up black and female. It's it's this is a new story to me. You know it's not a new story. There's a legacy of black feminism. That i certainly didn't make something as amazing as you know for colored girls or a strong as alice. Walker's color purple And those are just two examples. You know From particular generation black feminists been taught us that this cognitive decisions. Is you know something that we have to struggle against our impulse to protect black men often Outranks any notion that we'd have to care and love for Not just black girls and women but you know black children. Amine r kelly has. He's victimized people on gender spectrum and And by the way are kelly himself was a victim you know. And there's this way that we fail and it's not disconnected to white. Supremacy is not disconnected to a criminal justice system that has framed innocent black man for sexual crimes. We know this history it has been written about and it seems like we have to start at the.

"Down the statue, these people, you know, you can put all of them together, and they would not come up with half of what you just came up with. How do you know all that stuff? To get around you can do. I know you can find it. But I mean, you, you, you rat. You rattled it off off the top of your head. Are you one of those civil war buffs or what? Yeah. Yeah, I do play testing with GMT games. There are a game company in California and They do Civil war games and other other era. I could never get into the civil war stuff. You know, Some people do the reenactments in the battlefield. I went to Gettysburg. What the reenactors are expensive. The reenactments are very expensive. The original, you know, they're kind of reenacting equipment. It's a very expensive Harvey. But we're doing a board games. I do board games and No, we You know what they're like, risk, but the higher level you know, much higher level. Wow. And risk was pretty hard. By the way I've risked was risk ripped for me. I like street ego. Remember, ST Ego, captured the enemy's flag and win the game. Yeah, they Yeah, they have simple as now you still have a game like that? Yeah, There's a forget what it's called. But wait. Hold on, Bob. You you test games for a living. No, no, no, no, no, It's a hobby. So we we play test New New games. There's a new game coming out child. Queens College in Flushing, New York. Hey, yeah, you and let's see Jerry Seinfeld and, uh, Dr Frank Fields. I think it's a great school. Yeah, well, yeah. I also went to Stuyvesant High school, and there's a lot of people went to Stuyvesant, including somebody who we can't stand that liberal. Jerrold Nadler, that guy. He graduated the year before. I did no kidding. Yeah, the congressman. He, uh Yeah, Yeah, yeah. Yeah, Well, you got to be smart to get into Stuyvesant. You got to take that test, although they're changing that they want to change it. And, uh, anyway, Bob, thank you very much. I am very impressed. Uh, you to write, Kevin. I mean, that's a lot of stuff. To know what's that game company again? I should have asked him GMT something. All right. How we doing? What's my plan here? Okay. I got to take a quick break. "Jesse Kelly Show. It is the Jesse Kelly show on a Tuesday. All right. I promised you a little economics talk. Not boring Nerd economics talk, although it's about to descend into nerd them here any moment I make it up and give myself a wedgie at some point in time during this, so just allow me to explain something. As always, I was always talking about going into the break life for all of us for you. Me, everybody. It's about to be different. No, I'm not saying the world is coming to an end. America's about over. I'm not saying that I'm saying you're going to start wanting things that have that have always been available to you, and now they're not there. Oh, there's no chicken and the grocery store and that's coming to it. If you're not already experiencing it a little you're starting to see signs and restaurants. We may be out of chicken items. Chicken unavailable. You're seeing construction supplies. I brought this up going up. Allow me to explain something briefly as somebody who came from that world. When city let's say I'm in Houston. Let's say Houston wants a gigantic sewer line built the town's growing. They did a lot more sewer lines out there. People are full of poop around here. Okay. They're gonna figure out what they need. Bill. They're going to have An engineering firm. Design what they need Bill. Okay. They do this kind of pipe. They need this. This this much of it. The planet will be this and this And this And this. Okay, then they're going to generally this is in general how this works. The city of Houston will put that project out to bid. Hey, we have this big project. It's 10 miles of sewer line. Every contractor who's licensed for it will come in and put in a bid for it. Low bidder in general gets the job. Obviously, there are all kinds of crap affirmative action things that can throw that off, But we're not going to go into that right now. Talk about systemic racism. Do you know in a place like Houston? If you're a minority owned business, you can be 3% over everyone else and still end up getting the job when you're not the low bidder. That almost sounds like what's that racism, But we're not going to go into that right now. Forget about that. Okay, So what do say this matter You, Jesse? Why do I care about a sewer project in Houston? Your area has water lines and sewer lines underneath the ground. I promise you it does or any other public construction projects. Everyone does roads. Whatever the case may be..

"Greg Kelly is on the Air 77 W. ABC. The Taliban is now telling us what to do. I heard a warning from The head Taliban guy. He looked Taliban to me and he said, Uh, America has to get out of Afghanistan by August 31st or else They'll have to deal with the wrath. Whoa! Can't they just speak? He would deal with the rat. That's a lot. Um, I thought of September 11th was the no kidding. Cut off date, right? Anyway. Now we're now we're we gotta worry about them and what they say. We gotta I don't like this at all I do here now. The fake news trying to say Well, consider this. No Americans have been killed. Isn't that great? There was a guy on the news this weekend, saying You know, if you really think about it. No Americans have been killed. But you know how many people have died of Covid in the past week. Like it doesn't work that way. All right. That's it is it is it. We only care when people die, is it is it that it doesn't? You heard people about? I remember even back 9 11. There was some idiots saying well, You know 3000 people in a cutting shut up. This is a calamity. There is no denying it, but they're trying to deny it. And they're trying to move on. And I think it's insane that some folks are Actually like yesterday, dedicating half the show to covid crap. Half the show to covid crap. And just moving on past this thing, it's not over. Chaos reigns. Our troops are in harm's way. It's the opposite of withdrawal. Where, plus ng up And as President, Trump said on Saturday night, even a five year old child could have figured this one out. A five year old child. And by the way, Remember how Joe Biden was going to be the kind gentle nice guy empathetic he was going to have so much empathy. And George Stephanopoulos, for all of his fake news faults, asked him last week about the people falling off the plane running by the plant running next to the plane, Remember and jumping on and falling off the plane from 100 FT. In the air, a couple 100 ft in the air and dying. What? What did Mr empathy say about that? But we've all seen the pictures. We've seen those hundreds of people packed into a C 17 We've seen Afghans falling was four days ago five days ago. That was four days ago. I would have been empathetic back then you should have asked me. It was two days ago. Your dummy. It was two days ago. Somebody pointed out. You might have been lovin when you saw them on Friday. Um, his whole cabinet. They were all wearing masks. It's one of the few times those mass really came in handy. They wanted to hide themselves. Because they were so embarrassed by their own failings by Joe Biden's It was just There's there's just no getting away. Uh, from this. This is a catastrophe. But Lisa in New Jersey wants to say something about the brain surgery. Comment I made a while ago. I, Lisa Hi great. Great. Yeah. Hi. Let me switch from Greg. I'm gonna I'm gonna die. Hold on. Okay. Hey, Nice to talk to you. I'm a big fan of yours, but But I have a correction a little bit. I'm not a brain surgeon, but I did have a brain aneurysm. Um, three years ago and My doctor that you know that's on your station. Her husband actually did the surgery and and my well, here's the deal. You got it three years ago. Three years ago. You got it, So that's 20 Let me do the math. 2018. So Joe Biden got it done in 1988. And back then it was a totally different situation. I've talked to brain surgeons about this and I dabble in brain surgery myself. And they told me no kidding that it compared to how they do it, how it was done to you. It's it's It was barbaric back then, and now it truly is precise and you can go on and have a normal life. Tricia, did you Wait. No, Lisa, Did you learn anything along those lines? What they did was Greg, as they did actually have to cut my head open. I was cut open from my forehead to my ear. Yeah, but they did it. Look, they did it. I did have, um, an angio. Great. They did go up through my groin. Yes, they did through your groin. Yes. Yeah, he did. Don't tell us anything else. Keep going, General in an angiogram, right? And all right. But little Lisa. Bottom line. You're not a brain surgeon. I'm not a brain surgeon. But brain surgery. Brain surgery is much more sophisticated today than it was when Joe Biden had His situation and look It's not definitive. His issues today might be related to that they might be related to just overall cognitive decline. It can't be discounted. We don't know. I talked to a brain surgeon who said even back then people would go undergo brain surgery. Sometimes they're belong term. Um you know signs of mental decline, and sometimes there wouldn't be So couldn't rule it and couldn't rule it out. Hey, by the way, So, uh, did you almost die? I mean, what happened? Well, to be honest with you, Um I was experiencing massive headaches and actually, my dog detected it. Um, she would not leave me Alo the night before, and I was I couldn't even It was the worst pain of my life. I can't even explain it to you, but I went to an emergency center. Well, how did the dog detected? What do you mean? The dog detected it. She knew something was wrong with me. She kept on. She would not leave me alone. She kept on pressing her. Head into my into like you know, into my chest and she would just she was nonstop. Wow. Yes, I've heard of this before. I love that. What kind of dog She's a boxer pit. Amazing still around. You still here? If you're sleeping on her bed right now, I'd love to hang out with that dog. Make sure everything's okay. No. But Yeah, So next day I went into the an emergency center, and from there, I went to the hospital. And from there, they detected it and A couple of you know, some decisions had to be made and how I was going to continue with what surgeries and then it was done. Well, presto, you proved my case because you are obviously normal and well adjusted and articulate. And Joe Biden is none of those things and he had the surgery in the 19 eighties. So I think we're on the same page here. Order, But they did have to cut my head open just to let you out. They did have to get in there somehow. Alright, I'm sure the whole they had to make in your head is not as big as the whole they had to make in Joe's head. Quite frankly. All right, Greg, I'll take a picture and send it to actually I would be intrigued. All right. Thank you, Lisa. Very, very much. How about that, huh? Near death experience. Um well, actually did she almost No shoot? She's gone. How about that dog? Oh, a boxer pit mix. Tricia has something to say. Are we good for time? Do I have to take a We're good. Alright, Tricia. Real quick. What's going on? Well, I want to talk about corrupt demand to Joe. But just on cackling Kamala, she deserves all the snark. You can give her but give Cathy Ho show uh, you know, break on the looks. Look at the substantive issues like her connections with the working families party and HRC and stuff, not her looks. But, um, can I just say one thing about the looks? Yeah. There is something about people. Who spend a little bit too much time on their looks, which is a little bit of a you know, it kind of puts me off. People are always looking at themselves in the mirror. You know what I mean? You're getting this done that done the other thing. It does sometimes indicate where their priorities are. You know what I mean? She? I mean, she has a very determined working class background Catholic immigrant family from Ireland. She she was not made lieutenant governor because she's All that. Cuomo was up was looking for somebody. Who would not outshine him would not in any way pose a threat politically to him. I don't. I don't understand a one term congresswoman. She served one term in Congress. And then she was a county clerk before that, my my big takeaway is, I think And I could be totally wrong on this, But I think it was a fundraising thing. You know, the thought the husband seems pretty rich. Am I right? I don't know, but she she was a lawyer, and she served in different people like Daniel Patrick Moynahan. He's a liar. Liar or a lawyer. Lawyer, while some are both that.

"How many people have you seen out there who have had their reputation and their life absolutely destroyed by accusations oftentimes real looking accusations. And then there eventually found innocent and don't do a day in prison. Well, that doesn't get your reputation back. That doesn't get your reputation back. Let me tell you something. Because is there anything worse than people hurting kids in some way, Right? There's nothing worse than that. In my opinion, that should be a capital offense, and I don't I don't even I go back and forth on believing a capital punishment, But people who hurt kids throw them out of a helicopter for all I care. How much effort Do you think this system would have to put in if the FBI was aiding it? To convince everyone you know. That you're somebody who hurts kids. How many news stories do you think they'd have to plant? How many sources do you think they have at the local newspaper? They can give a story too. And then that paper runs it. And then another paper runs it and senior boss finds out and he can't be associated with a scandal like that. And he had soon you're fired. And then your wife finds out your mom's calling you This isn't true, right? Your kids can't go to school anymore. Are you starting to understand? How dangerous it is. I'm not done yet. "The most Kelly show if you listen to me any length of time, you know, I love to talk about Tech and we talk about the associated privacy issues. And I've always said, and I will continue to say Privacy is an illusion. It's something that you think you have. It's something that you believe you have a right to is something you think that you deserve. But you don't have it. Every email. I sent every text size in every social media comment or direct message that I sent, I assume is going to be for public consumption at some point, and I'm not going to delude myself into believing that Well, it was stolen. It was hacked. It was it was illegally taken to that somehow is gonna make it better for me, so I always work under the assumption. That everything I write everything that I do, especially in the view of a camera will be somehow publicized. Whether I like that. This is another example of that. I can't tell you how to live. I could just tell you beware. There is a home a lot. Home alarm Tech. Who back doored security cameras that he installed to spy on customers having sex. Home security technician has admitted he repeatedly broken two cameras he installed And viewed customers engaging insects and other intimate X As a general rule for my, um Laptop camera. Don't necessarily always tape it, but I'm not doing anything untoward in front of the laptop like Jeffrey Toobin or anything. It's far as my desktop camera used for television appearances that's usually Covered, so I'm not worried about that. But I always assumed that they can be hacked. And this is just another example. If it's connected to the Internet, it can be hacked. It can be misused. And I'm not gonna tell you about all my home security system. But just know that None of the cameras. They're going to catch me having sex. You know, I don't even go out in the backyard in my draws. Because we got a camera looking into the to the backyard and we have a reading system, so I know you know that can be misused and abused but tell us 40 villas, a 35 year old former employees. Of the home in small office security company A T T a lot of friends I now have a T T. Said that over a five year period He accessed the cameras of roughly 200 customer accounts on Maurer than 9600 occasions. Without permission. All about all without the customer's knowledge. He said he took note of homes with women He found attractive, then viewed their cameras for sexual gratification. Guess, And I'm just guessing some of most of these cameras. I should say most of these homes had Inward cameras, cameras on the inside of the house showing what was going on inside of the house, right? I don't get down like that. You know, I'm looking for someone breaking in. I don't need to record what's going on in the house. If I see you breaking in, I know you stole my shite. That's good enough for me. This may be people who have established like Manny cams or just home security systems, whether monitoring what's going on with the people that work in their houses, so that makes sense. Right. He said he watched nude women and couples as they had sex. Avila's made the admissions Thursday in US District Court for the district of Northern Texas, where he pleaded guilty to one count of computer fraud and one count of invasive visual recording. That's weird. Only one cast all those I know. I know. He faces a Mandarin occasions It gets worse. He faces a maximum of five years in prison, which is consistent with one count for a federal offense. One count. If I steal one piece of mail, that's a federal offense. If I were to take someone or have possession of someone's credit card possession. It's one count five years. This guy was doing it with impunity. And obviously there is a record of him doing it more than once, how he was only charged with one crime just I don't care that he confessed him, like did he give up someone else? I mean, did you give up a ringleader to Ah, Sex Cold room was a trafficking people or so I mean, why would you give him a deal? Just for him pleading guilty because they obviously had him dead to rights as far as his meta data and his digital footprint. There has to be something that he turned in something that he was able to show them within. All the video are you know digital content he had collected something. Something. Maybe he showed them How and 80 t said. Hey, take it easy on this guy. Maybe showed and also that we didn't know existed. Yeah. And 80 T is probably like we don't need all this type of negative scrutiny coming to our devices because in every story they're going to say a T T and eighties he was buried in the story wasn't like in a headline. I'm sure A T T does not want to have some front page story about how their home their cameras, they're susceptible not to hacking but just abused by their own employees. That's not good for business. But if that wasn't unsettling, maybe this will be unsettling for you. U. S military spies have been paying for American Cell phone data without a warrant. I would love to hear from me. If you have a question you want talk. Hi Tech. That's what we're going to do right now with Adam and Putnam Valley, New York Hello, Adam. Real. How are you? I'm great. Welcome to the show. Thank you. Thank you. You helped me out a few times. The last time 2013 and picking out a computer for my son for graduation gets too. That's a long time ago, but I bet it felt like it went pretty quick. Oh, yeah, absolutely not Put it past just a few months ago. His own nice. Yeah. What can I do for you this time? Yes, Here's my situation. So I have and old 2007 I'm Mac that I want it still good, And it just will not go on the Internet, a more some powerful enough. Um, but I want to use it as a sort of display. Um, I'm now using a 2013. I'm Mac. That Catalina operating system. Um Cannot. It will not show the library from photos APS through the eye photos that that's on the old system. Oh, um, what can I do? So you both systems need to be on the same iCloud account the same Apple account. So make sure that that's the case on both of them. You could do that in the system Preference pane, other accounts. If they're both in the same one and you open up. You're on the old computer, the 2007 model. If you open up photos you can check to see if it's fully synchronized. If it's up, they call it updated. It'll say right at the bottom, updated or updating. It takes a while, but it will upload them all. Now you may have to go into the settings and say I want to use the iCloud photo library before it'll do. That s O. In fact, I'm guessing that's what happened is that on that machine? Photos is set. It's actually for that age of the machine is called I photos that I photos is set not to synchronize with iCloud. So let me just check. I think you do that in the preferences of photos. But if not, Yeah, there's a well see, I'm looking at more modern one. But you want to turn on iCloud photos. Make sure that that's on it. Well, that I'm looking at it right now says, automatically uploaded store all your photos and videos and iCloud so you can access them from any of your devices and on the Web. That's exactly what I want. Yeah, right. There's this thing I do have I cloud but I don't have photos on it. For one thing, Isa that I have 37,000 photos in my Anna if I will go ahead and upload all the that is cost me an arm and a leg. So I hear enough GI taken external hard? Yes, you could do that. So what now? What you want to do is you can manually move it over. But you're gonna find immediately that where are those photos? So what you have to do Is you right? Click the eye photos library file. There's a big file. You'll know it's where your photos are because it zbig and if you right click on it. You can select Show contents because it's not actually a file. The iCloud photo library photos library is actually a folder and inside there, there's a folder If you show contents called original photos. That's where the originals that you uploaded are stored. And you could just take that whole photo folder copied over to an external drive. Then move over to your new computer plugged that external drive in open photos on that new one. And import the contents of that original photos file and it'll all be part of your library. Okay? Yeah, That's yeah, Of course. I should have asked you. You're not storing in iCloud. Well, it won't do it automatically, but you can't do it manually. All right. It will recognize because that's using Tiger. It will recognize the ID photos after or the that's why you're not copping the library. Well, it might actually you might be able just copy the library, but I suspect what you're gonna want to do. Well, here's the thing If you want to get all the modifications you made to those photos on the tiger machine, you know all the editing. You didn't all that stuff that's stored separately from the original photos. In another file, if you want all those, Yeah, you're probably gonna want to open The eye Photos, library. So in that case, copy the life photos library the entire folder. Get over to the external drive, and you could do an import and I can't imagine that apple. This is something people do all the time is they migrate from an older version, the operating system to a new one. Would if they don't. Then they've really blown it. But photos should be able to see recognize an import everything from that. I photos library, So Yeah, if you want the modifications, you should take the whole thing. Now this is going backwards. That is going from a new system or you're going the other way. Oh, no old if you're going new told that may not work because, of course. The new formats or not. So in that case, the original photos is the right answer. Because that's the photos has taken. That's the J pegs and the other, You know photos as taken. And you can import those directly into the tiger machine. Yeah, You're right. If you're if you're going from if you're going from Catalina to Tiger Tiger, I photos is not gonna know what the heck it's looking at. I don't think no Well, yes. So in this case That's that's where it comes in handy to know that inside that I photos or in this case PHOTOS library There is a folder called Original Photos. Mo'Kelly responds to former Trump adviser Roger Stone calling him a racial slur during interview

"And you have questions. In fact, I have questions during the program. During one of the breaks. I was told Eric if he could get the What Roger Stone allegedly said and want to get to that in just a moment. What would you do an interview like that? I have certain responsibilities. And if you watch any good reporter and I'm not saying I'm a good reporter, but there's a technique you watch report like during a White House press briefing. And the president may say something personal may make a personal insult. Notice. They don't respond to that Their job is to get their questions asked and get an answer. My job as I see it. Was to keep Roger Stone on the phone. And regardless of what may have transpired, regardless of what person that may have felt about what he was saying, my job was to keep him talking. For your benefit as the audience and my benefit to have that conversation. And it's not always comfortable. And since I'm processing, quite sure different people heard different things or wanted to know different things. I'm going to turn this over now to to all his sharp producer wallet. Take it from here. No, uh, first of all, fantastic job That was quite possibly one of the best interviews that has ever been on the Mo Kelly show. Hands down. Great questions. Fantastic. I okay? Maybe I heard wrong. I need to go back and hear the audio. I swear this man Off the cuff said. I cannot believe I am arguing with this Negro on the air. Okay. If you did not hear that portion of the conversation, I was pressing Roger Stone as faras his commutation. That his relationship in proximity to the president probably had something to do with the president showing him favor and he he was just talking about how unfair the justice system was. Well, that's the likely follow up question. How can you talk about an unfair justice system when you are benefiting from that same justice system? If you're not the friend of the president, then You probably don't get the commutation. I think he took exception to it. And Eric, are you Are you queued up on your end? Yeah, I got it. Okay. This is where everything went. Left, everyone pay attention. Let's all listen to this together. Hit it. I do believe that certain people are treated differently in the federal justice system. I do absolutely believe that. But I also believe that your friendship and relationship in history with Donald Trump weighed more heavily than him. Just wanted to make sure that justice was done by AH person in the justice system that you were treated so unfairly. There are thousands of people treated unfairly daily. How your number just happened to come up in the lottery. I'm guessing it was more than just look. Roger, right? Rose, You're arguing with me. I'm sorry. What is that? Roger. Roger. I'm sorry. What did you say? I'm sorry. You you argue with him. I thought we were having just a very spirited conversation. What happened? Would you not like to continue the conversation, sir? I hear that the line is not dead. You're back. I don't know what that is. Well, Yeah, I was, uh, I was talking and you said something about Negro, so I wasn't exactly sure. Our did not Okay. You know your mind your mind? I okay. Well, we'll let the listeners decide. Let me go to the next question. Then why? Whatever the next question No. Do you literally have ice in your veins? Well, let me put it on for you. How were you able to keep that going and keep your composure? How do you do that? I'm sitting over here losing my mind. I didn't know it first. I need to figure out this is what's going through my mind. I had to figure out whether he was going to each yet. And then when I had chest really think about it during the break, this is something I noticed if he honestly couldn't hear me, what is it? Someone says, if they can't hear you and in the middle of a conversation. Hello there. He didn't say that. It's just silence. And he obviously wasn't talking any exhale. I heard what I heard. And the audio is what the audio is, But let me tell you swallow what I felt about it. And this kind of I'm loath to talk about race on the Mo Kelly show. I'm loath because by and large people don't respect the conversation. They don't respect it at all. They want to hear what they already believe. They don't want information. They want confirmation. They want affirmation. And a lot of times. I always say I can show you better than I can tell you. I've had seven pressed to my count seven presidential candidates on this program either while they were running or sometime later in their professional history. Seven. We've had any number of senators, you have any number of Congress people. I've been in radio 20 years I have been a BBC political commentator for 10 years have been published in The New York Times. L A Times Chicago Sun Times and been on. Good Morning America. CNN MSNBC H L In MSNBC, NBC it just about any alphabet, Fox 11. I say all that to say not as a boast. But the only thing that I felt was true, honest and sincere. That Roger Stone said was in that moment that he thought I was not listening and all of my professional Crit accolades. All my professional bony feet days went out the window because as far as he was concerned, he was talking and arguing with a Negro. It didn't matter that I went to Georgetown University. It didn't matter that I did my interns on internship on Capitol Hill. It didn't matter that I've interviewed the best of the best in All walks of life. It did not matter because in that moment he was flustered. He obviously was angry and He? It was almost like, If you want to know how a person actually is. Well, get them when they think that the cameras aren't rolling. The microphone is off. And no one else was around. That moment was the closest thing we'll ever get to that with Roger Stone. He didn't think that I could hear him. And he seemingly turned to another person in that room and says something unintelligible in said something like I can't believe I'm argument this Negro. Can we isolate that, Eric? Do you have that isolated anyways? We can listen to just that. What was she like arguing with me? One more time. What was she like arguing with me? Well, I don't know what the first few words but this Negro is clear as day. I don't care what precedes it. It is what it is. But But 12 here's my main point. That's why I'm low to discuss race on this program, not because Because I think it's a silly conversation, and people don't actually want to have a sincere conversation. Because not a day goes by which someone says to me on some love with my email and you see the twat posted all the time. You're not on Ko Phi, but four or you didn't get into Georgetown but four Or you don't deserve to or you're only there because of every single day. It's a perpetual audition to prove myself having nothing to do with my actual professional accomplishments. And I can say that, but in that moment it is demonstrated for everyone to see and everyone to hear. So going back to how did I keep my cool? That's Tuesday in America for me, that's every single day, but my job was to keep him talking because people wanted to know. Was he going to get a trump tattoo? See, We don't get that question if I reject or I chase him down this warm hole of Negro He denied it. In that moment, he lied about it. What is there to discuss? I know him on the radio. I know that there's going to be a podcast. I don't need to chase after that. Because I knew

Trump border wall: the hypocrisy of Trump's immigration agenda

"A cited said in his staff is cited factually, accurate, then why not just go ahead declared the national emergency Bill the wall and stop with all this grandstanding. Just do it. Right. Also, this idea he's also floated the. That the money that comes in from the new tariffs on goods is going to pay for it. Does this guy not know how the government works? That's not what happens. Okay. This money. Must be appropriated by congress. It doesn't come in from tax revenue. It has to go through congress. Okay. Through tax revenue. It's still has to be a portion by congress and congress is going to keep saying, no because guess what they were saying. No when when Paul Ryan was running them only, they weren't saying no as overly. But the fact of the matter is is the Republican party's donors are not happy at the idea of not having all that cheap labor being shut off. So this border wall thing is a game that they're playing with their base. Okay. See we want to keep out the Brown hordes from south of the border to protect America sovereignty on the other hand are businesses will die without him. I have a question for you. Donald Trump hiring illegal immigrants at his resorts. Evidently a bunch. Yeah. And at all of them. Yeah. In New Jersey. The attorney general of that state has turned this matter over to Mr. Mueller. Okay. Because he feared that Mr. sessions when he was attorney general would conveniently bury it and that Mr. Whittaker would do the same. So the fact of the matter is is that the same president of the United States who says we are in dire need of immediate border wall hires and lures illegal immigrants to the United States to work here. I recognize the two people that adore and idolize Mr. Trump, I might as well be speaking Swahili Healy standing on my head in a bucket filled with water for because they're not gonna listen to me. You know, we always talk about the individuals who've been snapped out after the final snap. She's a new character. That's being added to avengers for her role. Many right now are suspecting that she is going to be Kate Bishop who is a character who took on the mantle of Hawkeye within the character within a cast of the young avengers.
