So the heat health tracker, for example, you can identify where there's concentrations of elderly people who live alone. And these are these are places that you're going to need to target your resources. Heat is the deadliest form of extreme weather, according to federal data. Recession, yay, or nay seems to be a major topic of discussion amongst economists at the moment, but which way things are going depends largely on who you talk to. Major problems at the federal prison in Atlanta are under a congressional microscope. Reports on today's hearing in Washington. Terry Whitehead is a former administrator of the federal prison in Atlanta. She told senators about the Atlanta way, where bad behavior of staff and inmates is not punished, and regular building maintenance and repairs are not done. Whitehead shared a story that she says shows that danger to those inside the prison and those who live around the southeast Atlanta facility. There was so many rats inside the facility dining hall and fruit preparation areas at staff intentionally left doors open so the many stray cats that hug them around the prison could catch the rats. It is never a good idea to leave prison doors open. Georgia U.S. senator Jon ossoff chaired the hearing that included senators grilling Michael carvajal, the outgoing director of the federal bureau of prisons, your unaware of any issues at USB-A Atlanta. It's clearly your most troubled facility. You are ignorant of these problems until the middle of 2021. That's your testimony today. Senator, things like that because of the delineation of authority would normally rise to my level, we have a chain of command and procedures that are followed. So yes, you are ignorant of this until middle of 2021. Senator, it was obvious that there was a breakdown. Other major issues brought up included problems with mental healthcare, suicide prevention and the treatment of inmates who had not been convicted and were waiting to go on trial. And the State Department of public health has confirmed to the Atlanta journal constitution that the first woman has been diagnosed in Georgia with monkeypox up until today the department had confirmed 268 cases of monkeypox in Georgia but all had been among men. Record inflation has a lot of Americans pessimistic about the economy, and this week we are expecting some big economic news tomorrow more interest rate hikes are likely on Thursday, new data about economic growth is coming. Offices sparking talk of a possible recession and with an election not far off that has the Biden White House preemptively trying to reassure people. Joining us to explain is impaired White House correspondent, Osmo holiday. Hey asthma. Hi there. Good to be with you. And with you. All right, so the economy has been a drag on President Biden and his message for months now. It seems, why are Democrats worried at this particular moment? Will it has, but new GDP data this week could show two consecutive quarters of negative growth. And that is something that is often used as the conventional shorthand for a recession. I do want to be clear here that is not actually the accurate way to define a recession here in the United States. That actually happens by a group of select economists who sit on something called the national bureau of economic research as business cycle dating committee. They are a nonpartisan group that looks at a range of economic factors. But The White House does know that this is a messaging battle. A senior administration officials have been holding calls with reporters trying to explain that the conventional definition is not accurate, and that it's important to remember how the overall economy looks right now with record job creation, and then yesterday, in fact, we heard from the president himself who tried to reassure the public during this virtual event. In my view, the employment rate still on the lowest we've had in history to the 3.6 area, we still find ourselves with people investing. My hope is we go from this rapid growth to a steady growth and so she will see some coming down. But I don't think we're going to God willing. I don't think we're going to see recession. You can still hear he doesn't sound quite like himself there, still coming out of COVID. But I wonder, you know, to his point, technically whether we're in a recession or not, how much does that matter if a lot of people feel the economy isn't doing well. I had that same question because a number of recent polls show that a majority of Americans, in fact, think we are already in the midst of a recession, and the argument I hear from Democrats is that the negative feelings folks have around the economy are reflection of how they feel about inflation at democratic pollster salinda Lake put it this way. People are personally experiencing rising cost of living. They're not personally experiencing a recession. They have in the back of their mind, worry that we might head to recession. Mainly because they're pessimistic about the economy. So what's next? What's a negative word about the economy? Well, recession is a negative word about the economy. And you know, Republicans are certainly pouncing on the current economic unease. Yesterday on the Senate floor, the leading Republican Kentucky's Mitch McConnell accused Democrats of trying to redefine a recession. The White House isn't folks in their energies on corrupting their mistakes and making the economy better for working families who are hurting. Instead of their priority is telling everybody things aren't as bad as they look or feel. I asked them to just set aside what the politicians say for a minute. What do economists say? Are we actually entering a recession or not? You know, I talked to an economist who served on that NBER committee for more than two decades, and he said he does not see the signs of a recession right now, job income levels unemployment, they are all solid. But a recession is a moving target, and multiple economists I spoke with pointed out that whether we are in a recession right now is very different from whether we might be in one in 6 months or a year, and the economists I interviewed seem to express this degree of caution. I will say publicly, I don't hear that caution from Democrats, they are projecting confidence, which feels somewhat slippery. I will say it's a difficult message to sell right now Mary Louise, people often vote not necessarily on the health of the economy at this exact moment, but the direction they think it's headed, and that is why the economic messaging battle is so important ahead of the midterms. And fierce eyes. Thank you. Much of Texas is in the middle of

"Hip feel like America has gone on this current trajectory in just a few years. So Blake, let's talk about your opponent, Mark Kelly. And what is the state of play in Arizona right now? So it seems as though Arizona has been moving steadily from red to blue. It's now firmly in the purple camp, and then you have a Republican governor of Republican State Legislature. But you have two Democratic senators. How much of that? Is a simple result of the positivity of good Republican candidates and how much of that reflect sort of underlying changes in the state of Arizona? I think it's both. But I don't think Arizona's blue In fact, I know it's not, and I think it's it's. It's too much to even say it's purple ng or it's inevitable or something like this. Um Arizona's about one third Democrat, one third Republican, one third independent, no affiliation, and I think Republicans still have a little advantage. But it's basically one third one third, one third now those independence They want to break right, I think temperamentally their conservative to the extent their ideological their conservative, But it's also Arizona. It's a little bit of a libertarian state a little bit of an individualistic state. You know, we have that wild West Bird, Goldwater. Heritage, and so they're looking to connect with the candidate. Personally. I mean, there's 50,000 people. I think, who voted for Governor Doug Ducey, but then also for Kirsten cinema in 2018. And that that group of people, mostly Maricopa County, mostly registered independents. That's who's going to decide the election. But here's the thing. We're right on the issues. They want a border wall. They just wanted articulated in sort of the right way. They want voter ID. You know, they know it's not racist to have voter. I d. They don't want to defund the police. They want more police in their communities in Mesa and Chandler and Gilbert, So I think we won the right candidate with the right messenger. Arizona can still win. Republican Republicans in the office. So one of the things that's been happening in Arizona is that the two Democratic senators they make noises as though they are in the middle of Christian cinema has actually shown it more than Mark Kelly has. She's actually crossed party lines a little bit. Kelly seems to be voting almost directly down the Democratic Party line, as opposed to cinema has seen more as sort of an almost John McCain maverick from from the Democratic Party. So maybe you can talk a little bit about Kelly's record in the Senate. Yeah. And I do that by distinguishing it from cinemas, right? No one thought Kelly was the right winger. No one thought he was going to, you know, vote like Tom Cotton or Senator Holly or something like this, but Kirsten Cinema promised to be independent. She promised to buck party leadership as appropriate. And look, She's not a political ally. I don't trust her long term. She's doing that, like, Thank goodness she's holding onto the filibuster. Right? Hurry mentioned. Kelly made much of the same noises. You know, I'll roll up my sleeves and be independent for Arizonans. Meanwhile, he's voting with Chuck Schumer in lockstep like 98% of the time voting against finishing the border wall voting for mass amnesty voting for the crazy spending and infrastructure packages these Democrats put together and so I think Democrats are really good at this right running moderate candidates who don't appear to be far left but who are in fact Far left that fits Mark Kelly to a T and I think by pointing out the contrast between him and Kirsten cinema, that's one way to show people. This is not the guy you thought you were voting for. So, you know, blankets interesting. When I talk to people from Arizona. They seem a lot of kind of higher ups in the Arizona Republican Party. They seem very concerned with the voter audits and with 2020 and all of that, and it seems to me that whatever you think happened in 2020, and I've been pretty open that I think that Trump lost the election and that there are many reasons why he lost the election. But whatever you think of that I don't see. Why be who's the Arizona Republican Party to spend sort of time and effort they have on relitigating 2020 when it seems perfectly obvious that the future battle is 2022 2024 beyond Where do you think the statuses of sort of the the state Republican Party at this point and do they need to to start looking forward as opposed to looking backward? Well, I think you've got to do both. Um, I don't. I don't think that's a cop out. I do think you have to look forward and win. 2022. You don't do that, Just by, you know, airing sour grapes about 2020. That said, you know, I don't know what happened, right? I look forward to reading the audit report. I think the vote margin between Trump and Biden, as certified was like 10,500 just a few less. And we know Dems ballot harvest in Arizona, right? We know they do. All these things were on the margin. You can find boats. So even if you don't believe in the world, Wilder, you know, Dominion switched votes stuff. I still think it behooves us to go and and look and see. Is this count? Accurate? How do we know? Um If only so that people can see right, President Trump said. This himself like Let's run the audit. Let's see if I lost. I lost. But let's see right and it feels like there's an awful lot of gaslighting Blue Check journos in Arizona want to tell this base? No, This is the most perfect election of all time, right? What are you talking about? If you have any complaints at all, shut up and go home. Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi as late as 2019 was saying the president Trump was not a legitimately elected president because of Russian hacking Russian interference, right, So I think, Let's see what the audit says. Absolutely. Though we got to tighten up election laws going forward. We've got to look to 2022 going forward. It's 2022 2024. I do think we need forward looking substantive agendas because if we win those elections We solve a chance. I think we can put America back together and have a prosperous American future. If we lose 2022 2024. I think it's all over. I don't think it's been too dramatic to say it's all over. The Dems will add seats to the Supreme Court. They will add states to the union. They will federalize elections. And then whatever you think happened in 2020 as soon as HR one s one as soon as they get something like that past, no Republicans ever gonna win again in Arizona or anywhere else. The revelation comes as many afghans resort to desperate measures outside the airports. Do not get any smaller. I just don't know what does speaking to. Cnn's wolf blitzer. Deputy national security advisor. John finer says the administration did respond to some of the concerns detailed in the cable from the diplomats and began evacuation flights of some afghans in july. After a stand off that lasted for hours a man who claimed to have an explosive device in front of the library of congress was arrested thursday. Multiple buildings in the area were evacuated as authorities responded to a quote active bomb threat investigation. The forty nine year old man was identified as floyd ray roseberry from north carolina and has a history of supporting donald trump. In video he was live streaming during the standoff. Roseberry called himself a patriot and said that all democrats should step down. Us capitol police said no bomb was found in the man's truck. Although he did possess bomb making material authorities are investigating after a family of three was found dead on a hiking trail near yosemite to my knowledge. I've been here twenty years. And i've never seen a incident like this before. That was mariposa county. Sheriff jeremy breeze talking about the discovery of john. Garish ellen chung there one year old daughter meizhou and the family dog search and rescue found their bodies on tuesday after they were reported missing the night before the county sheriff's office says they were no immediate signs of trauma no suicide notes or any clear indication of what caused their deaths. Brees says the family was well prepared for day hike and they're looking into all possible causes of death. I know there's been some speculation that we haven't confirmed that but there are seionage from the forest service regarding a algae bloom. There's some sign up there that could be poisonous. But at this. Point that yeah. We can't rule anything out an autopsy to determine what happened could take weeks. The r kelly trial continues today. The singers charged with racketeering and violating an anti sex trafficking law among other offenses. Kelly denies all charges. Here's c. n. n.'s. Daryl forges with what we've learned so far from the trial in day. Two of testimony in r kelly trial. We heard from toronto pace. She was the first person to take the stand on wednesday. She continued her testimony on thursday. She claims that kelly recorded the two of them having sex when she was sixteen years old and also. Another person that was key and taking the sand was dr chris mcgrath. He was r kelly's personal physician for twenty five years. "I mean, he's got I don't know who is or who is going to be just suspect consistent, and, uh, I just I know well enough to know that you can play. If you just write material running, which I think he has. That offensive line gives him the time to throw. These will be awesome and then talk about my record shop. I knew that even before decisions started last year, that those records drunkards stay around journal, they throw the ball. More than what you ever did. Okay, so that last points very important here. Number one, and so was this point. So Jim Kelly took a bit of a different route to the N F. L went to the USFL made it made a few bucks. Josh Alvin got the football immediately. Uh, as a rookie couple of years this year number four he was 22. When he began playing out of the University of Wyoming. Jim Kelly started playing at the age of 26. That's and that's one very important aspect to to incorporate. The other thing is You know, there's no Thurman Thomas, where you have to give the ball to 25 times a game as a prerequisite, which was also a good thing, though, for absolute bills team during the turn that their heyday Yes, it just it made it so much easier to do all the things that they did James lost that had to create some of his career numbers because I mean, you gotta put eight guys in the box all the time. Audrey read exactly. Hold the favor. Andre Reid finally got in. That's right. Love Andre. He's been on the show before. No doubt BB even made some plays. You know, I I got you. So it's not apples to apples. Obviously, it's a different era. It's a different way to attack the end zone. It's a different method of deployment different athletes, while Jim Kelly was big, strong, tough and fast. And he has always been renowned and revered by his peers. For that, or for for that physical description. Josh Allen is next level. He's bigger. He's stronger. He's faster and believe it or not. He's got a better armed Jim Kelly. Jim Kelly had a rocket. And don't forget Rocky is a great athlete is what I'm saying. Pastor as a runner. I'm talking about as an athlete, not just just being fast, but But the other thing you know, we know that eventually, if if if Josh Allen stays healthy, he's going to get a long term extension is probably going to happen sooner rather than later. We've had this discussion before, as well. You never played quarterbacks too early. Josh Allen's one of those guys, you can probably pay early and be confident that you're heading in the right direction with that signing, but he's going to break Jim Kelly's records. As Jim Kelly said, as long as he's here, and he's healthy, that's going to happen because of how much they throw the ball how good he's become at throwing the ball downfield. Making, you know good decisions, not turn the football over and leading his team towards towards victory as we also, obviously they won division last year, but I think the the challenge for Josh Allen as it pertains to being the goat in this conversation in Buffalo. Gotta win a little bit. He's got to win and he's got to win. Big, right. Jim Kelly, as we all know, went to four straight Super Bowls. They did not win one of those, but they were like they were the Patriots of the time like not not that they had the longevity, but they were like without question. The best team in the A F. C. And that's That's the starting point that Josh Allen has to hit. If he wants to be the goat for the Buffalo Bills, you gotta at least for some extended period of time. Be the best team and one of the best quarterbacks in the A F. C. And that's going to be hard for him because of because Who else is there? Because obviously as part of the conversation homes, etcetera, but I don't I hear you. I really truly here you but If he If he has superior numbers, which he will That's But I can't put that in the equation. Okay, I know I know where you're going. I got you. I can't like But does he have to be? What if he's one of the top? Five quarterbacks in the conference. It's to me it's got to be top one or two right because and the hairs, though it's not because at the end of the day, you can go back and say Well, Jim Kelly, never. You know, never lost an NFC championship game. Jim Kelly was consistently in the A F C championship game. Yeah, he didn't win a Super Bowl. Okay, but whatever. We're not talking about Super Bowl when I'm trying to compare him to Tom Brady, we're trying to compare him to Josh. Josh Allen doesn't become that. There's there's There will always be that argument and debate about whether or not he actually has some pass. Fair enough. I'll relent on that. Jim Kelly. Here's a quick little side staff before we get to the other quarterbacks. So last year, Josh Allen threw the ball 572 times. Jim Kelly, never through more than 500 Once. Wow, That's an acknowledgment of how stats are distorted. Same for guys like Phil Simms, et cetera. Got even Boomer Sison, our body down the hall, who was great. It was Boomer was a terrific player. I mean, a boomer was playing the ball around now, right? He'd be a 10 Time Pro bowl already tell you he was a 10 Time pro bowler. Alright. So who I want to give you first crack? Give me two players right now. That has up that they've already played. So it's not. Yeah, it's not Trevor Lawrence or any of those guys. Yep, that has already played enough. Will you see enough evidence?.

Trevor Lawrence Phil Simms Josh Alvin Jim Kelly Josh Allen Andre Reid Tom Brady James Josh Buffalo Bills Andre 572 times 25 times Thurman Thomas Audrey Super Bowl two players last year Rocky N F. L

"Of a running game and they couldn't really get anything going because mahomes is running around the whole time. The books defenseless fast and aggressive him like a chicken with his head. Cut off sacking three times for twenty seven yards in losses and ten. Qb hits chain qb hits that shows you kind of pressure. They were bringing. They allowed just three of thirteen third down conversions and only one of three four down so it finally happened. Mahomes had a really really bad game. No magic know anything from this prolific offense not even a td just a whole lot of pressure incompletions running for his life and not enough points per espn. Mahomes was pressured on twenty nine to fifty six dropbacks fifty two percent of those the most pressures of any qb in super bowl history passing. Jim kelly's record of the buffalo bills back in super bowl twenty six. That's insane and we thought as always if they gave mahomes enough time that no matter. What kind of lead the bucks gut. That she would always have a chance to come back. Always have a chance to strike back but they never had that chance. They never brought that strike back. I do believe that homefield advantage came into play. I believe that because the bucks did not have to travel and the cheese traveled the day before. I know they didn't make any excuses. I'm not making it for them. But in my analyst. I believe that that had some sort of effect. I don't think you can travel the day before such a big game and get proper rest and things of that nature. I understand it's happening. So we all gotta make do. But i think that did have a little bit of effect. I don't think that would have made up for everything. I still think they would have lost a game because they got their butts. Basically as well as losing two offensive tackles on his line. That had a lot of impact as well because the other tackles just weren't able to cut the mustard to be completely honest. You know they weren't as good as the starters for reasons are not the starters but that definitely impacted. He had no time to throw deep to any of his receivers. And so i think there were other factors involved and we're gonna get into that right now with nfl expert. Shane thank you for coming back and joining us on the show again for the super bowl. Fifty five review my friend. How are you doing. How's it going great to be here. I definitely appreciate you having me on. I'm glad to be here to answer any questions you got. That's awesome so as i mentioned earlier in omar's overture. I believe the travel had effect on key cities performance and vice versa had an effect on the bucks in a positive fashion because they didn't have to travel anywhere. What is your opinion on how. The travel affected the team's performances. I actually think opposite man. I don't think it had an effect on either team too much to affect anything. They're both professionals. They do this every year every week of the football season so i mean maybe you know the bucks getting to sleep in their own bed helped a little but it helped enough to do anything. Omar right..
