"We have elections coming up in just a few months. And we need to make sure that all the is are dotted and the t's across. If there is ever an election where we just can't have any uncertainty is going. Be this one? Ah, given what to this nation has gone through the last three and a half years. Innocent to ring. We have Dr Kelli. Ward and doctor you Dr Ward. Stuff I think his name is Steven Richer in attorney that was hired in back at twenty eighteen election. He's uncovered some very interesting information about our Miracle County Recorder and it turns out. A lot of money might be owed. James T. it is great to be here with you and you are exactly right. This is an extremely important election. We all know we see the violence in the street. We see what the Democrats have rain down upon us and Maricopa County is an extremely important county. Maybe the most important county in the country and we've got Adrian Fonterra's the recorder Almighty I think is how he refers to himself puff possibly because despite knowing that he was going against what Arizona State Law permits. He told his colleagues in the middle of March that he was GonNa mail out last-minute ballots to voters who were not on the permanent early voter lists. Now the board of supervisors. Toll Font is that it was unlawful. Quarters in other counties told Fonterra's. It's unlawful Democrat Secretary of State Katie, Hobbs, told bond as it is unlawful, but anyway nonetheless vaunt went ahead with it, and when he did that, he misused hundreds of thousands of dollars in County Fund our money. Under the statute, I think it's thirty five, one ninety six font could be found individually liable, not the county, not the taxpayers Adrian himself, because he abused his power and violated state law and I think he should be found individually liable. What are the chances that he is going to reimburse to tax payers? Well I mean. If we have laws on the books, they should be enforced. I think that's what people are out there. protesting for, isn't it? I think so equal justice under the law, and that is for every person it is for George. Floyd, but it's also Adrian Pontet and you know he has a history of violating rules norm belong, and this is just the latest instance of it as the recorder, this is the fifth time that he's either violated the law or stepped into a gray. Area and he does it without any documented legal opinion, from from the county attorney or from any attorney he does it without the advice or the approval of the county attorney and so I. I can't figure him out either. He has some kind of a warped hero complex where he thinks he can do no wrong, and so he has to put everything into his own hand, even if it's not legally within his power to do so or truly truly, he doesn't understand the laws that govern our state and. Both of those possibilities really should be deeply troubling. They are to me. I'm sure they are to you. But it begs the question we have as E. GOP DR Kelli. Ward entering begs the question. It could be one or the other, but. He is allowed to continue in this position. Well! How why is he allowed? Because he's elected, I mean he is an elected official as we all know, it's very difficult to oust an elected official between elections and you know I'm not really a big fan of doing that woman. We're talking about the ballot box. I'm not talking that I'm talking about if rules have been broken, if laws have been broken violated here why? Why is anyone not pressing pressing him on that? He can't be found guilty, right? Well there's there's there's people that run for office bet from. Electorate. You're right about that. Ultimately we get what we deserve, but this is I as you said Dr Ward I mean this is a very important election, and it seems like we already have shenanigans going on. Oh! Yes, well, look at what happened in twenty eighteen with the opening of emergency voting centres that somehow only the Democrats knew about also in heavily Democrat sick Lee controlled areas. So you know what the law allows here is for Adrian volunteers. The individual who has violated laws abused his power in elected capacity as the the county recorder to be held individually liable for the hundreds of thousands of dollars that he misspent. That is the recourse at this particular time right this minute. Come November, third twenty twenty. The recourse is to out out Adrienne. Phantasm put someone in there who can assure our election integrity in Maricopa County and make sure that people have faith in the electoral process..

Dr. Kelli ward is now the head of the Republican party after ousting former GOP chair Jonathan lines over the weekend valley, political experts stand Barnes says ward is certainly qualified for the job. And it's a win for conservatives. Kelly wards ascension as chairman of the party is proof that the party in Arizona is with Trump is allying with Trump the Republican party suffered major losses in two thousand eighteen races including Kirsten cinema becoming the first democrat to be elected to the Senate from Arizona since nineteen eighty eight. And there was on a Republican says he's not too optimistic about lawmakers striking a deal on border wall funding by February fifteenth. Congressman Andy Biggs tells there is on his morning news that both sides are to blame for the gridlock. We should have got something done on a border wall. Over the last two years, we didn't and. I think the president's advisers were telling him, I think everybody was saying, look, you know, we really need to do this through congress. If at all possible bigs also says there's a statute that allows the president to declare that the southern border is an active drug trafficking corridor. We basically just changed the name same donors to attack the conservative to attack the conservative rather than to say, hey, we've got a lot of Republican shared values. And we want to get somebody that Arizona wants into Washington. I, you know, and we'll never know. We'll never know if that would have happened. But I think that we would have had great much greater shot. We have a five floor Republican majority, and we'd have two Republican senators right now, you would have been nice Kelli ward is you're listening to on Canada's t- AM seven ninety. So what do you think? Well before he talked about what happened. What what are you doing? Now people want to know where you're going to run again. Are you just a practicing? Well, what's going on? Well, I'm looking to get back into medicine, not full-time. But part time, my mom, and I are are working to establish some community outreach in lake havasu. Doing mother daughter practice once again. So that's pretty exciting. We're saying active in in politics. My husband, Mike, and I have created a company called atlas alliance, and so we're working in the political realm there. And then, of course, we still have Kelly pack, and Kelly pack was a single candidate pack, but we have converted it to a multi-candidate pack that we'll be playing in the twenty twenty elections and beyond. So people wanna find out about that? They can go to Kelly pack dot US. You can find out all about it and get on board with us. So that we have the voice that it isn't the the big donors who have controlled things for so long that that have a stranglehold on our party. We want to be able to have that strong voice. The conservatives, and we're gonna do it through Kelly pack. So are there any plan this plans to run again, or your, you know, that's good? My husband says, no, and I say never say never relatively young. Then there's a lot of life ahead of me. And I think that I have skills and abilities that are good for the people of our state and for the people of our nation. And so I I may run at some point down the road. But I don't have any concrete plans at this point how badly I know it's a lot of work, and you don't want to do it. But I mean, the Arizona Republican party is a disaster. This guy that runs it this John lines who wouldn't even talk publicly wouldn't get a debate between you and Martha going because they didn't want anything to hurt Martha the most protected candidate in the history of candidates. This guy's a disaster. So two things one I wish there was some how you could we could get rid of all the old McCain clan. That's still run the Republican party in Arizona. And maybe you could take it over as more Trumpian person to to should the Republican party in Arizona be doing more to fight back. Anything that's going on with these random votes coming in showing it seems like the Democrats always have. Something in their back pocket, and the Republicans are always left flat-footed. And that's exactly where Johnson lines has left the party. Well, I- it is it is a shame. You know, an and after the primary I go in and meet with the party with with the chairman, and the RNC committee men and the RNC Representative for Aaron Zona, and basically talked about a lot of these issues bed, and at that point, I was told well, Washington DC, wouldn't let us do this that or the other there were people Corey Lewandowski name was thrown out as a person who was basically running the show in Arizona, which I I have an issue with Arizona's should be running the Zona Republican party in conjunction with the RMC that should be a group effort, but yarn see should be listening to what Arizona was not the other way around. Federal government should be listening to the state and not the other way around. So when you say so Corey Lewandowski was calling the shots in Arizona that that was one of the names that was thrown around to me as to why certain things happen certain ways. And that's sad. It is that. And then why why wouldn't Corey Lewandowski then get behind you as opposed to squishy, Martha? I have no idea I had an opportunity to meet Corey. And he basically really kinda just blew me off at that point. Which I think was bad. Because I I know what you know, if I were Washington DC, I would be supporting the America first agenda, the President Trump and being very effective on communicating on an issue where Republicans have fallen down again, and again, and again, and that's not healthcare healthcare really was Martha's. I'm doing, you know, she she had no message on on healthcare and the party. Our party doesn't have a message on healthcare. So I'm hoping that I will be able to come forward and present the message to voters Republican independent and democrat in a way, but they're going to understand because I know everybody out there, regardless of their party affiliation want high quality healthcare that they have access to that they can afford and Republicans can do that. But they can't get the message together. So I'm hoping that that's going to be a role that I play in these next couple of years as well. Kelli ward is who you're listening to on Canada's t. AM seven ninety. So let's talk about that. I've been saying, you know, messaging was awful like literally there was nothing that was making Martha standout. There was nothing on the issues. Nothing pointing out how bad Kirstin is her per pass the media protected Martin and the Republicans could have put out, you know, commercials a whole narrative about it. Why do you think Martha lost? And here's ten one. Well, I'm curious than had from October of two thousand seventeen she was basically uncontested and she had money and she had backing and she had a positive message and people are tired of the negativity. I'm sorry. You can't just run a one hundred percent negative campaign. But I mean, I think that's something that this is shown and expect to win people want something that they can grasp on to to say I'm supporting this person because they are pro-life their pro second amendment. They love our our military, and they want us to be strong not because they want war. But because we want peace in the world we therefore economic growth in a plan behind it. They don't just want to have someone hitting the other person because it becomes well. She's bad. But I'm not quite as bad. And that's not a winning message people. I think they need more substance than that if Republicans expect to win. Manno man. And you know, and and the McCain PR machine was handling Martha mcsally, we know this because they canceled on us as soon as she said she's going to run they actually said, yeah, she'll be on the show. And then it was a Friday. And then on Saturday emailed Ryan, my producer and said, no, by the way. Sorry, we have to cancel my bad. She has a breakfast when she's supposed to beyond. We'll be in touch never heard from again, and we Google the name the person, and it turns out that person that sent the Email for that PR campaign was part of the McCain two thousand eight presidential team. So it was just like a total disaster. Have you ever seen a candidate hide so much? I mean, they both did. But Martha wouldn't go on a lot of shows. She wouldn't put her name out there. She was like afraid to speak afraid of own shadow. Yeah. It it is sad. And and you know, I talked to Martha I did get to talk to her directly a couple of times. And I I help and I really tried to present. A believable message from our side. So that our supporters were feel okay about voting for Martha. Now, I mean, most of them weren't out there being her biggest cheerleader because we were in opposition in the primary, but I know that the vast majority of my supporters voted for her and voted a straight Republican ticket because they want to get the party a chance they want that they they know that our Republican ideals are are love of liberty and freedom. Our our love of secure borders and putting America first is the right way for the country to go. And they were willing to sacrifice that loyalty that they felt to me in order to make sure that the party could prevail. I am thankful that we have a Republican majority in the United States. Senate I'm thankful that we didn't lose more feats. I mean, Trump lost fewer seats than any president in recent history in the mid term. So we as Republicans have a lot of work to do. And the establishment wing has to realize that the base is important. And that that they're going to have to do something to bring us along to make us feel confident in staying with the party, I with the Republican platform, and that's why I'm a Republican. I want all Republicans to identify with that platform and to go out and sell it to their friends and families and people who are less informed than they are. So that we can win elections. But more importantly, so that we can do the work that needs to be done at the state level. And in Washington DC to continue this country on a great path..

"So now let's talk about the real story with regard to end regal in the media, doesn't wanna talk about Andrew. Gillum is a socialist, his democratic socialist along the lines of Alexandria. Qazi Cortez which is to say that he will conveniently praise capitalism when he must. But he will generally say the capitalism is a bad thing, and he will claim that he's not a socialist when he sort of is socialist. This is the new game that we play. If we are Democrats who say we are democratic socialist was, which means we don't want to nationalize industry or abolish the profit motive unless we're talking to our base in which case, kinda wanna nationalize all industry or abolish the profit motive. But we have to do this gradually and we wanna start off Norway like Norway where we have capitalistic principles, but lots of social programs stacked on top of those capitalist principles. And if it costs just a crapload of money, then we'll just do it anyway. So Guillem Andrew gillum is the is the mayor of Tallahassee as I talked about yesterday on the program, the f.. Is investigating the Tallahassee mayor's office for use of public private contracts to toss money to some of Andrew, Gilad his, some of Guillem friends. It is worth noting that Andrew gilliam's rise is paid for by rich people. So Andrew gillum is is making, hey, right now specifically because they're billionaires were backing him. It's also important to know that Andrew gillum one, this particular primary because he's running into three way primary and the votes split so much the same way that Martha mcsally who wanna pretty clear cut victory over jar pile and Kelli ward in Arizona. She won in part at least because that vote was split. I think seventeen percent for our pilot twenty eight percent for Kelli ward and the right person one in Martha mcsally, who's a good candidate air force Colonel, I believe in any case, the same sort of thing happened in Florida where Andrew gillum won this race specifically because the votes split between two other viable candidates in the Florida race. Both of them ignored gillum and he ran directly to the left him. He just ran the inside rail basically, but he was also backed by literally millions of dollars from liberal billion. So Tom Steiner dumped millions and millions of dollars into this campaign. George Soros dumped millions of this is not conspiracy theory. This is reported by the New Yorker Gillam had recognized that big money in the Democratic Party Thomas tires money, George Soros money is now on the left, not the center last year. Gillam watched closely as Soros as cash helped propel progressive candidates to victory and several local elections, including the Philadelphia district attorney's race Gillam was familiar with Soros and his organization, the open society foundation, a few years ago, he helped launch a national network for young progressive elected officials, and the open society foundation was the group's main donors. This is Soros guy. He'd been in the financiers New York apartment addressed his board of directors and the spring with him in San Francisco. When the two men happened to be in town Soros committed tobacco gubernatorial campaign. He says, if I'm remembering correctly, it was, we don't know if you can win, but we would like what it could represent. I interpreted to me that it'd be significant to see a person of color taken seriously in a statewide race. No, it actually means the George Soros backs. A lot of Socialists. I know we're gonna turn everything into a color issue, but it has very little color and everything to do with gillen's economic policies, which. Are indeed extraordinarily left and you wouldn't muck up the economy. You would screw up the economy. If you actually were to embrace all of his policies, even Gillam understands by the way that if he runs too far left, he's actually honest about his own ambitions that he ends up undercutting the economy. So he was asked Pacific about his Medicare for all plan. So Medicaid for all is what Medicare for all is what he's pushing. Just like Bernie Sanders. Just like Alexander causal, Cortez sure. It's going to cost a minimum of thirty two trillion dollars. Tripling the federal budget over the next ten years. Sure. It's going bankrupt virtually everyone in the country. Sure..

"Dollars to nine percent to to to mcgurn like levels in New Jersey and and and also stripping out another referendum that would kill a student, an education choice programs. So this is going to be a big. Right? Left showdown in Arizona this year. Yeah. And I think in that race, I believe that Garcia. The is also a military veterans harming another. Another veteran, which the Democrats, I think cleverly us. Some two one last thought on the mic salaries. Not only did she win against Kelli ward share for our patio. I think that if you add the vote totals up, she had more votes in both of them combined. I mean, that's a pretty strong wind going in. The interesting thing is that both she and her rival Kirsten cinema are giving up seats in the house that make those open and vulnerable. So it's going to be it's going to be very, very interesting. You know, one is one is one. Again, the Republicans are running Latina leeann Marquez, Peterson against a democrat former former Representative, Patrick. So it's, you know, it's kind of one of these musical chairs. You set up here, you catch one, but you make the other seats vulnerable. Well, yeah. And I think Kim that says this, this is maybe a bellwether state this this year be and may determine a lot more than just the results. In Arizona in the sense that it was it is such a closely fought state that if there's going to be a democratic wave, this is one of those states where they could really sweep everything. And but when the open house seats when the Senate take back the take back the governorship. And if that happens, of course, we'll also pick up a lot of seats in the state assembly and Senate. Absolutely. And if you look at the outside groups, they're clearly looking at this as well to the bellwether state. You know, if you look at that MC Sally cinema Ray so far, there's already been eight million dollars spent on it in ads and promotions for the different candidates. So it's a very big deal. And then you add in there, the seats that Bill is talking about which will be closely fought, but also the governor's race where you have Doug Ducey who is running. Again, he is running very much on his economic results in the state, but he has hampered by. By this education issue that you mentioned there was an enormous teacher walkout what's known as the red for Ed movement. There. He ended up giving a pay raise. He's tried to suggest that those that were part of that movement and oppose them wanna to take over the governor's mansion so they can reimpose higher income taxes. And that has certainly been something that others have been talking about. David Garcia is running on a refunding education. As he said, he is an educator as well as an army veteran, and so they've got a strong candidate there and in this wider race which haven't got as much attention for the state houses and governors. Remember Republicans have had a very good run, but Democrats are hoping with this election to to change that and to put a number of these states back into blue hands will be the tax increase referendum on the ballot, which deuce us opposing. I don't know, of course. Yeah, has endorsed it yet, but it's going to be interesting. To see how that plays because you're talking about on on normal increase in in tax rates, doubling the top tax rate and not in a very high level of income. Two hundred fifty thousand dollars is not that much. When you think about that kind of income th that that kind of tax rate, what that does and the and and at a lower level, it raises a two eight percentage points of income. That means you're gonna put AirAsia in the area of New Jersey, New York, not quite to California levels. Where at the top rate is is about thirteen percent, but still very high. And of course, so many of the people who've moved air Zona have moved from California have moved from high tax states in the midwest, so they retire there and it's going to be fascinating to see how that referendum affects the ultimate race. If it drives turn out that that helps do see in Paul, I. Thank you..

"Meanwhile, it is on the cusp of electing its first female Senator in a race to fill retiring Senator Jeff flakes US Senate seat congresswoman. Kirsten cinema won the democratic nomination and she's going to be facing off against Republican congresswoman, Martha mcsally who defeated former state Senator Kelli ward and former sheriff, Joe or Pyo in her bid for the GOP nomination and there Heidi. Well, President Trump didn't endorse an era zone is US Senate primary, but he did take victory lap anyway. Not exactly sure posting to Twitter at twelve forty, four pm Washington time. Martha mcsally running the Zona primary for the US Senate was endorsed by rejected Senator Jeff flake and turned it down a I in b. c. news, captured video of MC, Sally reading and reacting. To the president's tweet in which appears to say, oh, no. Earlier she refused to comment on flake service to the state. Looking replaced, Jeff, flake deflate when his election here back in twenty twelve representatives safer eighteen years. What do you think of Jeff flake yet Representative today is about the next Senator for this state, so you guys can make the comparisons because he served the state. Well, you guys can sort that out. Well, so let's. Heidi, obviously there the Republican party's changed a great deal. Since Donald Trump started running since Donald Trump got elected. That's the sort of thing you would never see in the past where a candidate even talk about a man who served a state honorably, but. Talk about Arezzo and how Aaron may have avoided the Zona Republican party may have avoided a disaster in the fall and actually moved away from the person who was desperately trying to tie herself to Donald Trump. This is the best possible outcome, Joe for Republicans. If anyone showed us how to walk this tightrope of trying to not completely embrace Donald Trump at trying not to alienate him, it was Martha mcsally. She did not endorse him when he was running for president, but she did not alienate him either. She at one point called him a friend. And then in the final moments of the campaign, she tightened her position on immigration. She'll be running against karston cinema who is by all accounts, a moderate part of the blue dog coalition. And I think this race will be very good test of whether. Or not someone like Martha mcsally can survive though in the end, having somewhat aligned herself with Trump in this race because it is so close and I think it's going to expose as well. Joe one of the really undercover d- stories of the twenty sixteen election, which was just how close the Democrats came in some of these traditionally red states in Arizona. Hillary Clinton only lost by about three point, four percentage points. So if Martha, if they're Democrats can do a good job there of tying Martha mcsally despite her efforts to walk that tight rope to Trump and really gin up their turnout. It is possible that they could pull off an upset even though the prognosticators at this point are still saying that given the traditional patterns, they're mixed. Allie may have the early advantage early vantage just so at least. Well, what's your takeaway from the election results. Are you looking at the Florida race and surprise in Florida as. One of the most interesting races in the fall? Well, clearly the Florida racist fascinating just because you have to young politicians the same age from just the far reaches of both of their party. So that of course, is going to definitely be something that I'm excited to sit back and watch and see how it plays out. But also in Arizona. I think that what Representative mcsally has done is incredibly interesting and the fact that she managed to preserve her authenticity and not alienate Trump voters without going too far in the other direction has been somewhat of a model to watch. And so we'll see how that plays out for for an estate that Heidi as she was explaining, isn't as close isn't, is resounding Republican as it has been in the past. I would say that you can't understate how good a job and how relieved Mitch McConnell and his crew are over this result. It could have been a total disaster Kelli ward. War, Joe are pile would have been a surefire loser in that state..

And they're open all, the way until seven pm here's the reason, why you might have a lot of company, today even though it's just nice eight Justin like finger quotes that primary. So much is. On the line. And a lot of the experts who. Look into this stuff hardcore. Say. The early voting turnout where people turn in your information early was so strong especially in south Florida if that's. A good indicator or of the interest in the primary coming up today so it's usually is. Is, going to be a big one today and there is a lot, on the line obviously now in Florida is where we got going on that you. Will Oh we've. Got the primaries for governor race that very important senatorial racier to, at, a lot of the experts say that former democratic congresswoman, Gwen Graham we spoke to her dad. About a month ago she's leading. Strongly over the other democratic candidates looked like she'll take that one if. The if the poll stay true who knows if those are right and they're also saying the. Notice here too and, this is going to, be interesting to watch here Ricky this is a really big referendums especially in Florida. And Arizona on the, president's endorsements because he's endorsed run Santa's yeah, Rick Scott and who knows if they're going. To, take this home for the primary and then and then in November Here's. What he didn't. Do in Arizona he didn't endorse anybody. Running, for that. Senatorial seat the the other one that John McCain had yeah, we're, Kelli ward we've actually talked to her on the air is going up against your former sheriff up there in Mira COPA county boy and they're, saying that this Martha mcsally is the clear favourite. There Trump didn't endorse anybody so maybe it's. An indication they didn't feel anybody. Was strong, enough supporting his agenda out, there Republicans got together and they. Figured this MC Sally's their best chance to win it kind of look like a dope when he. Got, he got Bambu sold by by Sasha baron Cohen not too long, ago, that, was very uncomfortable how do you not know that he's who he is in any way so out of touch. So, outta. Touch and that's a that's a, very good reason that could be a very good reason. Why he won't endorse him because he, needs somebody that seems that needs to seem a bit in touch I think. So, and that. Would be a smart move actually Kelly War I thought he was a Kelli ward seems to be what I thought was real big Trump supporter yeah so I thought maybe in fact going into this morning. I thought she. Had his endorsement but that's what I. Thought, too back. We talked to her I thought that was the one that It's not like we're. As in tuned Arizona's we, are Florida obviously but that that kind. "Josh crusher the political editor, foreign. National journal Josh welcome back to mornings on. The mall there is there some primaries, today, in Arizona Florida and. Oklahoma in Arizona you've got Jeff flake deciding that he is no longer going to to be be running. For re election so you have more mcsally Sally Kelli ward and Joe are in a, three, way race four that seed votes are going to be split three ways who stands the best chance though out of these three of of beating the democrat Kirstin cinema in a head to head matchup Martha mix Rick. Sally has all the momentum in the, race, she sort of the. Favorite of the Washington leadership she's got a very distinguished military record which is sort of similar to John. McCain in many ways and she's managed to consolidate establishment conservative support in the state of, Arizona, so expect MC Sally to win pretty comfortably against Kelli ward in Pyo in you have two candidates running to the right so they're splitting up the more conservative support necessarily the state of Arizona Could you get into Josh a little? Bit about the Arizona electorate and how much has changed if at all I mean you look at two senators like. Jeff flake and John McCain and he's like okay those are not these are, not the, most right, wing guys these are not the most conservative guys. They often divorce on the moderate side of things or even on the left on some issues is that has, the. Electorate continued at that pace or are they. Moving further to the right in Arizona Arizona is. One of the weirdest Republican parties in the country where you have to the most outspoken anti Trump, Republicans but you mentioned in a state that has one of the most. Pro-trump Republican electorates dilemma MC Sally a faith in this Republican primary like Donald Trump she didn't say John McCain's name before. That when there was a defense authorization Bill that that bore his name She's been trying to pander to some of the more, hardline elements in, the, Republican party also. Not going too far away from a message. That can win over general election voters. So this is a challenge in Arizona across the country really where President Trump's support and being to the right of the party is necessary to win a primary but he's also looking at a very? Tough general election against another democratic congresswoman Kirsten cinema and she's trying to make sure you know hurt her general election. Electability too much and real quick here Doug Ducey the governor they're expected to, easily win, today's primary, correct that's right he may have a tougher general. Election but covers a pretty pretty consensus Republican his favorability ratings of a state so he to win pretty easily In Florida the Republican governor, Rick Scott is leaving he's going. To run against a Bill Nelson The? Senator is going? To be pretty drama free today but what about the race to replace Scott how's that looking so this is one of the more interesting Republican primaries, out there where you had Adam, Putnam. Things to be leadership in here in Washington, and congress, and became the state's agriculture secretary Florida he was seen as the parents become. Rick Scott's successor but then President. Trump got involved in this race and he endorsed Putnam opponent Ron Disentis do very conservative congressman you seem a lot on Fox, News in defensive. Has all the momentum in this race and President Trump's tweets and his endorsement this race dramatically so it shows how powerful President Trump is within. The Republican party, and how it's we'd. Endorsement can really change the dynamic of campaign And how does, that. Affect I guess nationwide and how does that, refer affect, the Republican party because you're seeing a lot of never Trumpers who are choosing. Not to not to run for. Election they're just leaving and you see what a President Trump endorsement if it's given early enough can can do for a candidate, that's seems to. Be pretty powerful and it looks as if the president is kind of pulling the Republican party into Trumpism into his way of thinking That's right. Maryam Trump only have all the Republican candidates Trump endorsed in. A primary only one of them have lost he has a near undefeated record so Republican candidates. Are looking at that record and looking at Trump's support within the Republican party in responding accordion is that one loss Foster freezing Wyoming is that the one meiomi, in the Wyoming primaries Last week or this. Month but overall President Trump, makes a dramatic difference. In Republican primaries you mentioned the Oklahoma race the runoff coming up it's another race where you know the Trump forces are propelling and underdog ahead. Of a guy who was originally considered the favorite in that race so Trump really define. What, it is. To be Republicans, these days and his whole. Lot yeah that's right in Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallon is term limited so leaving and the and, the people who, are racing to replace. Her on, the Republican, side. Oklahoma City mayor Mick corner and gateway mortgage company founder, Kevin stick Kevin sit is the Trump era of the two. Candidates and. He's been attacking corn for not being sufficiently pro-trump, here that's right and even in, the races where Trump hasn't endorsed like like the one in Oklahoma the candidates that are attacking an. Opponent for not supporting Trump or now for a case of corn. I don't think the endorsed Trump in twenty fifteen Election and, that's becoming a major issues part of a primer on Arizona real quick is John McCain's death playing. A role in that race in a meaningful way I mean everyone even people who. Disagreed with John McCain in Arizona. Everyone respected the Senator out there a couple of weeks ago and I was that from Party events and even, the people who really disagreed with McCain on immigration and other issues just admire good service and terrorism. In his career, so there's a pause politics in Arizona and Arizona is also. A state where a, lotta votes are cast early state where people vote early. So you, know, McCain's that hasn't really made a big. Impact on the primary and like I said MC Sally is built a pretty sizable advantage of that firmer interesting Josh. Thank you so much for joining us we appreciate your. Insight and. I guess, we're gonna find out tomorrow how much of an influence President Trump. Signs but freedom of speech usually wins out which, doesn't exactly Lead to freedom to see much, of anything else at some intersections over the last few days somebody or somebody's took action to face the signs of. Some candidates sneaking suspicion this has less to do with, trying to rid us of the signs and more of a wish to rid us of certain candidates someone chopped up Kelli ward sign so that it now reads serve war. US Senate but the piece of resistance I saw, was a modification of a sign for corporation commission candidate, Rodney Glassman he probably now feels a, little bit of a kinship with Kramer from Seinfeld Asni These. Don't belong to me I'm not the ass man I think there's been a mistake All right the twelve year old me, thinks this stuff's funny but the truth is if you're caught, the facing a campaign. Sign you could get more. Than just a few days. In jail a fine and probation Maybe a better punishment would be to force them to listen to a speech from the candidate who signed they, destroyed forty seven. Times at a role there's an incentive by the way ask man is not the worst case of campaign signed tomfoolery, I witnessed in Arizona politics that would have occurred back on July twenty first two thousand ten you see the night before the, rubber inflatable. More Women Than Ever Are Running for Congress in 2018
"Deal Jennifer Kushinka in for Gordon Deal along with Rasa Kaye we know there are more women running than ever for congress this year. And while many democratic women have been fueled by the Donald. Trump era and the metoo movement the GOP contenders aren't playing up gender on the campaign trail Keat, Lynn Huey burns has written a. Piece for, real clear politics called female GOP candidate so shoe the gender card and joins us now. Caitlyn, why are female Republican candidates not focusing on gender issues for, a couple of different reasons I we have seen the surge in women candidates across, the spectrum but we've seen it even more on the democratic, side then on the Republican side and there. Are a few different reasons for that number one according to strategist and operatives and candidates themselves but I've talked to they note that there has been a along disparity between Republicans and Democrats in terms of, infrastructure here towards your crusading and helping and fundraising for women Candidates who seen that a. Lot on the democratic? Side and number one this this time around is the idea that Donald Trump and the metoo era is really. Fueling women on the democratic side and so that creates some challenges for Republican women running this cycle a, couple of candidates I talked to noted that are running on. The Republican side noted that they don't like to play the gender card as they called it they, don't like to play identity politics. As they, called it while running for congress and so some of these women candidates who could be? The, first women to represent their states and some cases in the, Senate for example have said that while they liked the idea that they could break, a barrier this way it's not really a focus of their, campaign instead they want to focus on the. Issue Caitlyn one of those women you just referenced Marsha Blackburn likely to become the Republican nominee for Senator in Tennessee is kind of issuing the gender card what is she Running on Well she is running as a top ally of. President Trump she is very close, with him has made clear that she would be an ally of his in. The Senate she has long represented Tennessee as. US congresswoman, in fact when she was elected to that post in the early, two thousand she was the first woman to go to congress from Tennessee who did not succeed her husband. In office so she has recognized that she has broken. Some barriers and she talked to me about ways in which she is encouraging women to get. Into politics but she also is very supportive of this president supportive of his policies and welcomes his endorsement and welcomes his ideas and. Her state it's very different though in Tennessee compared to other places because Trump is still very popular, in Tennessee traditional. Republican state he wanted pretty handily in two thousand sixteen candidate Like Blackburn it makes sense for her to. Run as an ally of Trump even though she's a woman candidate and some other places it's a little bit more difficult we're speaking. With Caitlin Huey burns of real clear politics in those states that aren't heavily Trump country are the, women who are. Running getting away from the Trump message at all It really depends on the district and the state so for example and in. Arizona which has never sent a, woman to the US Senate before and we'll likely, do so given that the candidates on both sides our women it's going to be really interesting to see what the Trump effect will be, Arizona is a state that the president won, by just three points at the, state that's really changing demographically towards the Democrats. And so you have the the, the women candidates on the Republican side Martha mcsally a current congresswoman who was the first female combat first female woman first woman, to fly in a combat mission and in the air, force and you have Kelli ward. Who's a physician both vying for the Republican primary and that's not until the end of August and so in a Republican primary the goal is really to endear yourself should Trump And motivate base, voters and then try to tack, a little bit more moderately during the general. Election that'll be kind of difficult, and that's Caitlin Huey burns from real clear politics This.
