"Dr joseph. Thank you for joining us. Good morning good morning. Did the guy called us a minute ago. And you may have heard me say it. His dogs going bonkers. They've tried set at a sedative. They've tried thunder coat. They've tried everything from the internet. But he said the sedative of kind of worked and i in my expert well not really said hey. Give them more sedative. Is that good for me to say or no. I think that's a fair assumption. Of what i would say is typically when they prescribe we call them. General anxiety medication That are are you for situational. You know experiences like fireworks thunderstorms typically. We prescribe them. We'll start on the lower end because we don't really know how the animals are gonna react and gives us a lot of room to go up on the dose so you are essentially right. I would definitely you know recommended. He chappaquiddick veterenarian. I and can trying to figure out a better. A better dose for the dog. But i wouldn't just say hey they don't work and give up on it dr bobby a killing okay. Now that being said. I do have some general animal questions for you since we have you. Are you okay with that warrant. What human foods should we not give our dogs and ask that. Because once i gave my dog. I dropped grapes. My dog ate grapes and it was a disaster. So what what. Human food should dogs not eat. The big ones are definitely grapes and raisins as are a little bit less less known to be bad for dogs. it's actually very interesting. One great can send a dog into full kid. Needs kidney failure so definitely knows chocolate. Chocolate onions garlic and then another unknown one would be it. Sugar free gum. The artificial sweetener in sugar free on can be really bad for them but we were just doing all normal government. We cut back when it comes to to brushing your dog's teeth. I don't brush my dog's teeth. I'll be honest with you. Should i brush. He does like the. The groomer will come like once every couple of months or so. How often should we brush our dog's teeth. Ideally it'd be rushing it rushing them. you know. every day. i realized that probably unrealistic. I if you can do at one to two times a week. Better than nothing. But they're just like us if we don't brush him plaque and tartar is going to build up. They get really bad dental disease And i can be really painful. They can get infected teeth. That can be pretty bad in there. How do i get them to freak out or to my hand if i go ahead. We have doggie toothbrushes so and then special flavor doggy toothpaste At that doesn't work. There are different like simple treats and choose. You can try to like greenies and and those essentially trying to help breakdown plaque and tartar too but brushing his doctor joseph. She's a veterinarian. i got a couple more questions. is it true. The dogs have just short term memories. I do not think that is true. Now they certainly can hold onto memory especially traumatic ones. So when they're four months old to about eight months old as a really formative time for them and anything that's super negative whether it's getting a fight with another dog or being abused by an owner. That's gonna try to shape their personality for the rest of their life. Final question is from our producer. He says his dog is thirteen years old. He hasn't had updated shots in about ten years. He's not taking any worm pills. Nothing is he an anomaly. Or could it be as breed or is he just a bad owner. Well i would say that. He's not necessarily a bad owner but it's important to say stay up to date on their shots and they're you know especially their heart pills here in tennessee and anywhere in the south. Really harm diseases but through mosquito bite and it's super duper prevalent here and i usually tell owners of your pets aren't unharmed. Prevention they're gonna get it And that's a pretty pretty nasty disease so his dog is very lucky. And then it hasn't contracted anything but I would definitely recommend owners. Keep their pets up today on their their shots and their prevention. Dr josie before we go. I have one go ahead so my dog had cut one time and i figured like i'm just gonna let her deal with it because i've heard the same lick their wounds so and i a little bit of a google research and i. It says that they literally have this kind of like antiseptic in their saliva. And that literally help them fix their own wounds. Is that true that is essentially true for a very very superficial cuts. That is probably untrue. Ninety nine percent of the time. It's really a great myth that their mouths are cleaner than ours. That is not true And what happens is dogs really fixated on their wounds and the lick and leka. Normally you've got a much bigger problem than if you had just you know taking taking them in and address it in the first place so the Then looking at usually ends up making things a lot worse. He would eat drywall off the wall. Same thing so. I would encourage you to go to vet. Let them know what's going on. I tried thunder coats. Thunder jackets anything. You could buy off the internet. I tried none worked. It was just given the dog pill that chilled them out and when a storm came he was much better. Have you tried that at all. Yeah we try the thunder self then we also just recently got him the sedatives that you're talking about and they seem to take the edge off a little bit but he's still is like he goes into a panic and tries to escape wherever camp. I mean that's the answer may not be what you know. The vet board of america says but we had to do the same thing. We had to up it until we figured it out. I'm not an expert. I can keep it secret for three more months since i've never been pregnant. I don't know how they my belly will be by then. But i expect i'll be showing. Do you think. I should honor her request. Or is it unrealistic to wait. That long signed sister in need and the timing makes it interesting too because if she just found out she's pregnant she's only during their sister she's probably just pregnant and most people wait three months. Anyone that's right so the timing does make this a bit more interesting amy. I'll let you go with this. I mean timing makes it interesting for sure but the sister has no right to ask the other sister to not announce it if she wants to. That's so selfish. I don't even understand that logic. What's who cares. It's not gonna steal thunder from your wedding day. I don't get it at all. Would never do that. And that sisters in the wrong. In my opinion i would say if you're getting married just reading. All these stories. Kayla was not at all because she was the most chill bright ever but a lot of the attention will be two or the sister used pregnant. If everybody knows she's pregnant at the wedding it will no. I'm just telling you a lot of the conversation and we'll be while you're pregnant. Are you showing are you. It just depends how much the center of attention this other sister wants to be if she someone who's extremely focused on herself and is like this is only my day. I probably consider not saying until after three months anyway because you wait for three months anyway. That's my only point about the timing of it. If it was six months away. I was shut up wedding sister some some wine. But it's three months you're probably not going to announce a toll close to then anyway so so it's not three months. It's basically two weeks. You're waiting extra. So i think first of all. You're not announcing anyway three months. We all say that's probably accurate right. Usually what people do. If that was going to be the case with you. I would hold off to after the wedding. If for some reason. You wanna go. let's go now and do it. Just go ahead and do it. And it is selfish sister but if you're going to announce it within like two weeks of the wedding. That is a bit stealing thunder your first baby. When someone's i getting married. That is a bit of thunder stealing. Okay my sister was pregnant my wedding. There's no we. In fact we move. She wouldn't be super pregnant so we moved it to december. You're gonna get married in may but we ran the risk of her going into labor and that would have taken away bridesmaids groomsmen flower girl. Was it right at three months but she had already been announced by but yeah i mean i guess everybody knew but to me. It's just not it's to me. It's not a big deal like that's just weird but i guess if you're trying to be a good sister i would just say if you were just going to announce it around that point anyway you hold off a couple of weeks and be a good sister and let her have her wedding because obviously that's important to her. If it was six months away. I would say shut up to the sister mary. Kay well we can agree to disagree. Because i say shut up. Now i'm with amy on this man the the guts of this girl. It'd be like extra guts with your family. Sure you can be really really honest with them but doesn't make it a little interesting though the three months. That's the only reason. I am even suggesting she hold off. Normally what people do but to tell someone a natural thing like absent she asked not told according to the email. She asked me to hold off on telling anyone until after the wedding asked tough one. I've been trying to you know have more fun outside of music like that but I like to play basketball. I like to y- be out in nature. Get on a boat somewhere. Go jump on one of these horses out there in the country. They are back. See what they going to do what they're gonna do never worked out for that. That's what they're gonna do. Never good well. Americans and the right to vote: Why it's not easy for everyone to cast a ballot

And he's going to use the Postal Service to try to limit mail in voting as much as possible to in effect, disenfranchised Democrats and steal the race, just as he did with Russian interference in 2016. This conspiracy theory, however, has perhaps even less evidence than the Russia collusion theory. Over the next 15 to 20 minutes. We will systematically debunk this most ridiculous conspiracy theory. Way are not going to allow the president of the United States to dismantle the United States Post office and undermine the possibility that absentee votes could be used in the next election.
