I love the power dumb as to you. The folks of power lynch and not happy with us but federal express is what we're going to talk about here. They reported. I believe on june twenty fifth. The jerk reaction was whack. The stock traded down to two ninety one or so. But you will notice that the stock is treated really well ever since number one. That's tell here the three reasons that i like at first valuation current prices. It's trading about thirteen times next year's numbers in comparison de chew. ups trades around eighteen. And a half. I'm not suggesting. Have the same valuation but it certainly should be close so valuation is number one number two improving margins and you saw that their ground ground being the number two revenue generator in the company and number three fedex has business update believe on august tenth. I think they'll say wonderful things. There you know what say what you want but this is a company that was doing everything wrong a year and a half ago well. They're doing everything right now. I think for whatever reason the pandemic force them to take a hard look at their business efficiencies are there. And i think it's going to manifest itself into stock going higher. I can make a very compelling reason argument that this stock should be north of three fifty based on evaluations. And some of the other things. We talked about our over the last year. This is a stock. That's up nearly ninety percent but it has stalled out as of the last few months here. Karen feinerman step up and take a swing have you. Have you have a question for guy on that particular move. I do so you know. There's an argument that the shipping space is crowded. How do you look at it right now. Well it might be crowded but you know what they're still need to dominant player. So say what you want. There are other ancillary. Sort of tertiary people guys and gals getting but fedex and ups. Still the granddaddy of them. All to quote the great keith jackson if you recall chew so and they also have pricing power. Something you and. I talked about before the show. Say what you want but the pricing powers their costs will go higher but they've able to pass it on and you see in their margin improvement that it's working for them so yes. There are other players but the two players that really matter still remained. Ups and fedex. Fedex this just too cheap at these levels all right so the ketchup perhaps at ups all right. No more questions here. It's time to vote. Are you buying guys pitch on fedex or not care and we start with you. Yeah well he had me at. Hello i love this company. A big position.

Washington DC's Bike Boom Shows No Signs Of Slowing Down Amid The Pandemic

"Geneva Sharma ordered his first bike just weeks into the pandemic. He lives in a small downtown DC condo with his girlfriend just trying to get out in a safe manner. I figured a bike is the best way only one problem I just. Didn't think about that everyone else was going to be buying bites at this time and I googled IMOs like Lo and behold there's a bike shortage in in America Sharma's bike was back ordered. So it took a while to arrive since he got it Sharma's been exploring all over riding up to twenty five miles at a time for many in the city outdoor space has become a premium cycling, his boomed as it's one of the safer socially distance ways to exercise. During the pandemic, some local trail sensors of shown twenty five or fifty percent increases in traffic over the same time last year if you want a new bike, it could take a few months waits for repairs, stretch three weeks or more at some shops demand his far outweighed supply that's been tightened. Thanks to the pandemic and shortage of parts from China. The US market is competitive. Two things have been terribly busy. That's Keith Jackson who runs operations for gearing up bicycles. A used shopping eggington I've been in a bicycle business since nineteen, ninety, five and everybody would tell you they've never seen anything like this between the desirability of bicycles. All of a sudden people stuck at home and people no longer doing comfortable mass transit Jackson found a line of people outside shop when he arrived for work the first weekend after DC, shut down in March, I sold everybody that Saturday all fifteen used bikes gone in an hour and a half. Wayne Sousa co-owner of Conte's bike shops has also seen unprecedented demand for new bikes. He sees a lot of first time cyclists and families who are looking for group activities outside the House. His biggest suggestion for those who may be looking to get into cycling. You don't need to necessarily buy a bicycle that's the most expensive one that they have or the fanciest gadgetry that they had of just get a bicycle that you feel comfortable on and start writing but getting comfortable running bike in the city doesn't come naturally for all the Washington Area Bicyclist Association has had record demand for their learn to ride and riding in the city classes. Wobble plans to restart in person classes. Later, this fall was social distancing, but for now. Everybody. Thank you so much for tuning in to today's women are rubbing. Short has been teaching cycling skills for more than three years. But now she's sharing knowledge online. Wada has created online spaces for beginners to ask questions and learn more about how to get into cycling. Short shared her favourite safe trails in Prince George's county during a recent Webinar but she also had a call for action. We need you out there a lot of us live in the county or little frustrated about the lack of bicycling infrastructure. But a lot of times that stuff is based on the demand sold more bikes mainstream more infrastructure more trails more all of that cities across the world or adapting to how people are moving around during the pandemic Peres is adding four hundred miles of bike lanes. Austin Texas voted to spend one hundred, twenty million dollars on new bike infrastructure. DC and other surrounding areas haven't committed like those cities. The district is staying with its plans to add twenty more miles of bike lanes by twenty, twenty, two, the Bike Association says, that's too slow. Officials have created some temporary space for walking and biking, and DC, in Montgomery County but it's not clear. These changes will last Sharma's he hopes those kind of spaces stick around because he'll be biking even after the pandemic is over climate change and his own health are among the reasons I think I'm GONNA keep to it I whenever we get back to the office I. Think I'm GonNa Start Cycling to work once I forgot how to make sure I'm not sweaty when I got to the office. He's not sure when he'll go back but until then you can catch him in tons of other new cyclists out on the trails for WMU Jordan Paschal

"O'clock six newsradio six ten all right Friday night your show we we go around the horn now via telephone as we practice our our proper social distancing instead of just getting one brewery and in studio for a full hour week we try to check in with everybody and see what's going on out there way and let's get with Keith Jackson from combustion brewing Keith how you doing man I'm good thanks for asking are you don't you hang in there okay yeah we're going in there yeah I'm sure you know I gotta tell ya I when you came into the show I don't know what it was I I have you been here twice I think maybe okay first time I think it was the first time you came in you brought a combustion brewery taproom cap and just just an FYI it's it's become my favorite cap to wear because it's gray it fits perfectly on my head it matches with anything not that I'm like super fashion conscious or anything but I I noticed that the the inside because it's you know it's got the great bill and then the gray whatever you call it in front and then the rest of it is white all around in the end that I get him don't have any hair on my head starting to get a little dingy looking from the oil so we'll have to hook up and I got to get a new hat from you sometime soon but how are things are used are you still are you still making beer combustion yeah we are we are we kind of the the very first week then when stand wholesale home was ordered and gets all the restaurants and bars were told the close up we did put a hold on production there for the first week we kind of just everything was gonna put on hold we kind of assess everything and we require we first day and then that we started our to go pick up online ordering system like right away we're not normally open on Mondays but we opened the very next day on Monday for the eight and we've we've been running like that we actually did this past week we we could start taking on those awesome for the pickups but either way we've been running pretty strong with it but people are coming out and supporting us in this pretty amazing to see and that second week we wanna have started back into our production schedule and we think we've got five prison it's S. three weeks so nice back on track and we cannot see where we're at going on next week whether or not we're gonna be another factor to his owner once what's moving the most for you right now well actually the funny thing is we've had a bunch we had a bunch of new beers like plan you know because we're going into the spring and our anniversary is coming up next week and so we had planned a lot of really cool beers come up we saw in the past three weeks I think we really six different districts like new ones we were listening style Helles call them or that one's going really well we got into the NCAA right now because I was concerned that someone really well and then our kind of our our typical peers are also moving just like they usually do so really the payments kind of caught sight of those weeds we've been doing is within make your site and now for a couple years and we've been accusing ciders with some different fruits and what not on our side or is it really gonna go a little bit crazy arms releasing those must again because it really it really brings people out so that's going to be kind of a blustery weekend so be a good weekend to get some sort of some cider don't you think no yeah absolutely we'll we'll be releasing our our blood oranges from their most popular cider than we do and we're gonna have that available tomorrow but it usually it usually sells out within two or three hours and well anyways yeah it's it's it's it really is like kind of nothing else we've done before it just immediately it's just now it's free for all people just wanna so this and you said your anniversary was coming up how many years it'll be three years okay on April sixteenth so send test yep pretty excited and then what about as people you know describe the process how do how do people get beer from you now it kind of go into that did you did you say there was online ordering and they can stop by and pick it up and you run it out to the car how how does that work yeah that's exactly right with you online ordering three orders only so we don't have people coming up and ordering the apps that are we have a doc set up with the curbside pick up so you just get online at our website combustion right dot com you won't miss it first thing you'll see is says order online you should go through that process and our menus up there you can punch in whatever you want the checkout you'll you'll pick a time when you want to pick it up if you order ahead far enough you can pretty much have your choice of what time it is but if you're kind of order in life you know like you're like a I once I'm gonna grab a sled run in about a two hour wait from the time you place the order but what you got on there now you you could specify whatever time you want tomorrow during our pick up towers and we'll have it ready for you so you just drive through a drive and like backfire doc there's no way you'll miss it and well you know you just kind of what's your last name will grab their order and you'll be on your way we could bring it out even on a cart so the card is about six feet long so we will you know we wear protective you know gloves and sanitize cans everything before they get to yourself there's no actual contact work we're keeping our distance inside and outside are you open Sunday yeah we are we open to to six for pick ups all right yes so once again Keith Jackson combustion brewing and Keith hit on your address combustion growing dot com where we're in Pickerington eighty west Church Street the Clinton Ohio perfect well glad to glad to hear that you're you know making lemonade out of lemons are key server or or cider out of blood oranges so everyone is safe and anything you'd like to add in closing no just thanks for having me on dimensions to kind of talk about what we're doing all right he's good luck moving forward and again we'll get you back in the studio for for for a full hour once on all this crap gets beyond us all right all right Preciado okay Keith Jackson combustion brewing will get back for the final segment of the Friday night beer show next newsradio six ten WTVN we.

We've done it for three decades now, and it's not working, but other people from the Bush administration see differently Edward McNally worked on the bag of crack speech to he says. Yes, mandatory minimums lead to unfair sentences for some people, but he made this analogy between the war on drugs and other kinds of wars. I don't think there's been a war yet where we've been able to avoid any Americans dying from friendly fire. So it's a really tragic unacceptable and unwelcome reality. I don't think collateral damage is acceptable. But maybe unavoidable. Let's say that may be a reality as well. But if Keith Jackson and potentially hundreds of thousands of others became as at McNally called it collateral damage caught by friendly fire and the war on drugs. At also wanted to make sure to point out in his mind. It wasn't all in vain. He reminded me of how bad things were when crack was at its height it destroyed whole communities. It was block after block and whole neighborhoods taken over by corrupt crack gangs, a lot of those realities have changed add told me, and he credits the kinds of tough on drug crimes policies that came out of the Bush administration. He worked for there are many key elements of the so-called war on drugs that were successful in bringing about that result. Things have gotten better when it comes to crack and the violence that surrounded it, but the real question right is whether the war on drugs, the steep sentences the tougher punishments. Whether that was what made things better turns out. There's no good evidence showing that it did..

They went to prison for ten years. And if we keep this up we're gonna put a generation of young black men in prison. Keith Jackson was released from prison in nineteen ninety eight. I spent months trying to reach him to see what's happened since I tried old numbers. I sent him letters. Eventually I did talk to some of his family found out. He has a job in an office. But that was about it. And then keep called me one night to say he didn't want to be interviewed. He wants to move on with his life understandable. But there are so many Keith Jackson's out there or I should say in there. So many young men of color charged with low level drug sales and put behind bars for a very long time. Guys justified. "People that for directly affected negatively by the consequences of what the president didn't fit. I put that question to Bush speechwriter Mark Davis. He's the guy who came up with the idea of using the baggy of crack as a prop. I was talking actually to a former teacher of Keith Jackson's. He was angry with with you with with the speech writers who sort of began all of this. And he said, you know, you guys were part of the problem. And he wanted to to ask you how fair do you think that situation was to someone like Keith Jackson? What I don't think it was fair at all. And it wasn't the situation to the speechwriters envisioned. But I do agree. We we've do. Doing what we're doing? We've done it for three decades now, and it's not working, but other people from the Bush administration see it differently. Edward McNally worked on the baggy of crack speech to he says. But maybe unavoidable like you're saying that may be a reality as well. But if Keith Jackson and potentially hundreds of thousands of others became as at McNally called it collateral damage caught by friendly fire and the war on drugs at also wanted to make sure to point out in his mind. It wasn't all in vain. He rem. Minded me of how bad things were when crack was at its height it destroyed whole communities. It was block after block and whole neighborhoods taken over by corrupt crack gangs, a lot of those realities have changed at told me, and he credits the kinds of tough on drug crimes policies that came out of the Bush administration.
