"He's not lying though. People in with a only know lick is on the block. This was I honestly was on the edge this episode. I was I was like frozen in fear. I was go- stressed out. And then after the veto it was like, okay, never mind doesn't really matter. Like, okay. But but for like half the episode. Investing. Rob. That was a great veto draw for. For them. They had the best veto dry. All they have to do is beat Lolo. Because honestly, if chain Marcotte it, I think candy could have convinced her to use it like, I honestly think something could have happened. I don't think it was like they were drawing dead. If k mar one so literally all they had to do eat, low low and not only that this was a comedian competition. Reading watch comedy. I don't even understand. Oh my God. This is four Tom Cato. This is them this is their veto. And then it was like oh. And four Kato all he had to do was witness events happening and reliably able to recount the events if you're OJ, you gotta be like, hey, get this guy back out here, and he's reliable. He can't remember things that happened. Todd. It really built for them. I will say that taymor really wanna Kato out. So I if if she when the veto I don't think there's any way she was using it. I think that there was a chance at possibly I think if Tom veto that's catering veto. That's where we're Leslie Natalie. Even Marie goes up. Doom reminds me in the chat, but Natalie Marie probably would have gone home. If she was, but I don't think that necessarily would have been that way. If anybody else on the okay, I mean, like consider the fact that the other possibility is that Ricky Lolo and Natalie all play in veto anything. There's no chance there. And so this was just I I saw the players for Vito. And I was just like RA we got this. This is very exciting up. So we're about buyer works. And then it was like nothing. So Brent was this all everything about okay, we're gonna potato on the block we're going to go after Kato Kato in the. Kato go should go home over Tom green. Is this all going back to the taymor being upset about the the miss Cleo, slur, in-house, no, not just that this celebrity should Milikian crown had come to byu Kato as sort of being alpha to Tom, and I know that sort of weird shipping about on the outside. But he was coming off that way in the house on the fact that he's a pretty physical guy and one of physical competition and Tom has done a pretty good job of sort of giving up. I mean, he's not giving up, but it's sort of an action that way, I think there have been times where he has given up in the house, but then ever been other times where I think he was maybe laying on a little bit thick. And I think they were also really pissed off at Kato from that conversation that he had with Lolo where he banged on the table a couple times and then white about it afterwards. I can't remember it was like one or two, but they were convinced that it was more than one. He gets saying it was one eight. And they wouldn't own shit then. So they wanted to they wanted to get him out of the house, and that combined with the fact that they thought he was running the show with him. And Tom meant keta was going to be out. If you didn't win the veto and did Melissa. Would you say that this isn't a steak that Tom has more win equity? Then keta us. I do think Tom as more win equity. And I think if the situation where if they got Tom out, I I don't see a situation where KEDO can really find a way to work with these people at all or like finagle his way to the end. Whereas I think Tom I think he has the possibility to work with them. And I think that they don't nearly see him as as much of a threat. So if anything happens between the three the no lick each team or whatever, and they're all extremely volatile. So anything could happen between them to break up this alliance at any minute, literally any minute. So if anything happens, I think Tom can kinda slip in there and like fine his way..

"Today's charges serve as a warning that the FBI does not and will not tolerate businesses that file our laws obstructing Justice and jeopardize our national security obstructing Justice stealing trade secrets Bank fraud. Those were the charges the Justice department levied against Chinese telecom giant while way on Monday mung, Joe the company's chief financial officer who was arrested in December. And several of its subsidiaries were also named in the pair of indictments. It's the latest development in a series of crackdowns. Carried out by the United States against China for its cyber espionage theft and unfair trade practices. Kedo kief is a reporter covering Chinese money in politics for the US for the Wall Street Journal, and she's been following all of this. Thanks for being with us. Kate, thanks for having me. So we were expecting that. There would be indictments were you surprised that the scope of these indictments? That's a good question. I think we generally had a sense of the. The content of indictments that were on the way. But one thing that I thought was really something to hold was how many top officials from the US unveiled these documents. I mean, you had the heads of the Commerce Department the department of homeland security, the head of the Justice department and also the head of the FBI were all there at this press conference to announce the charges, and it was the very first day that the US government reopened for business. So I think that gives you a sense of how seriously they're taking this. Let's talk a little bit about the charges themselves. We mentioned obstruction of Justice stealing trade secrets what are some of the specifics here what some of the backstory behind this what type of trade secrets are we talking about? So yesterday there were two different indictments that were unveiled one had to do with wall way being accused of lying about its business dealings in Iran and aiding sanctions and that indictment implicated both the company and its chief financial officer among Joe who is currently. In Canada because she's being held there due to the US extradition request. And it's important to keep in mind too. That MS mung is the daughter of Wallis founder, so that's pretty serious for the company and for China as a country, and then the second case is a trade secrets case, and it involved alligators that while we had stolen proprietary robot technology from T mobile US, and that's a pretty interesting one. Because the underlying the case are actually known for some years, and it was already tried in civil courts and actually while way wasn't found to have benefited financially from the theft of these secrets but in the indictment that came out yesterday. We saw that actually US prosecutors believe there's evidence that while we systematically instructed its in place to steal trade secrets and technology from all sorts of companies, and that they actually. Rewarded these employees with bonuses? Well, in one thing, of course, the to be aware of is that trade talks are starting this week between the US and China. What does this mean for those talks are what could this mean for those talks, you know, the trade talks it's been such a roller coaster, and the certainly isn't, you know, throwing out a welcome mat for China. So I think we're probably going to see a bunch more news today and tomorrow when the talks are supposed to resume in Washington. And I'm wondering if you could give us a sense of the dynamic that exists currently between the US and China when it comes to this type of innovation. We've always seen the two superpowers if you will competing, but where do we stand today in terms of a lot of emerging technologies, the US and China are really sort of battling it out. You know, there's technologies like artificial intelligence and a next generation wireless technology five G tech, which is really at the heart of Lois business. Those are. Areas where we're still trying to get a sense of who's doing what and which companies have which capabilities quantum computing is another area like that. Where you see publications all the time claiming that certain companies or countries have advanced in certain ways, but a lot of this technology is still quite new, and it's hard to get a sense of what's really going on. How broad is always technology and operations in the United States. So since two thousand twelve one congressional report, basically flagged while way, as an espionage threat, the company has been largely prohibited from operating here. But interestingly that hasn't stopped them from expanding quite significantly around the globe. And right now, while we as the world's biggest maker of telecommunications equipment, and the US has no equivalent company that produces that type of equipment, and it's also the second biggest smartphone maker. So while we recently overtook apple to get that. Position and they're only behind Samsung, which is a Korean company, and there's also talk that the United States is drafting some sort of executive order that would ban American companies from using Chinese equipment in their telecom networks is that even realistic. I mean does that he even coming down the pike. It just seems hard to think that that might actually be effective. I mean, we've been hearing about it for quite some time and the details of it would be really important to nail down. Because as I was saying while way really doesn't have much of a presence here in the US. So I feel like four the executive order to have a huge impact on wall way. It might have to be a little bit stronger, or maybe the US would take actions through some other means I mean, for example, earlier we saw the government put Z T E, which has always big rival in China. Something called the entity list, and that meant that Z T couldn't use any US equipment. Or products for its manufacturing. And that really hurt the company, but they were they ended up being taken off it because President Trump said he wanted to make a deal with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping. So if the US did something like that to wall way that would be really really huge. And I think that's what everyone sort of looking out for, but that likely would be done through some sort of Commerce Department or treasury action and not necessarily an executive order. Those are areas where we're still trying to get a sense of who's doing what and which companies have which capabilities quantum computing is another area like that. Where you see publications all the time claiming that certain companies or countries have advanced in certain ways, but a lot of this technology is still quite new, and it's hard to get a sense of what's really going on. How broad is always technology and operations in the United States. So since two. Two thousand twelve one congressional report basically flagged while way, as an espionage threat, the company's been largely prohibited from operating here. But interestingly that hasn't stopped them from expanding quite significantly around the globe. And right now, while we as the world's biggest maker of telecommunications equipment, and the US has no equivalent company that produces that type of a quick moment. And it's also the second biggest smartphone maker. So while we recently overtook apple to get that position. And they're only behind Samsung, which is a Korean company, and there's also talk that the United States is drafting some sort of executive order that would ban American companies from using Chinese equipment in their telecom networks is that even realistic. I mean does that he even coming down the pike. It just seems hard to think that that might actually be effective. I mean, we've been hearing about it for quite some time and the details of it would be really important to nail down because. As I was saying while we really doesn't have much of a presence here in the US. So I feel like four the executive order to have a huge impact on wall way. It might have to be a little bit stronger, or maybe the US would take action through some other means I mean, for example, earlier we saw the government put Z T, which has always big rival in China. Something called the entity lists and that meant that Z T couldn't use any US equipment or products for its manufacturing. And that really hurt the company, but they were they ended up being taken off it because President Trump said he wanted to make a deal with the Chinese leader Xi Jinping. So if the US did something like that so while away that would be really really huge. And I think that's what everyone sort of looking out for, but that likely would be done through some sort of Commerce Department or treasury action and not necessarily an executive order. "You can't get caught up in the moment, or whatever his lame excuse is going to be for this. But he also never apologize. So we then get. Dna is also upset with Kato because because she was the whole Dina thing. Let's let's talk about the other side of where Kato's wrong here. Is that DNA really likes Cato really liked Kato really was on board with working with Kato? But. But KEDO decided not to tell her about the vote for Jonathan Dina was upset about that Kato did her wrong. She was upset because she was upset Cato was like. Now, eight her she's upset with me. And she's on the block somebody that he should be able to work instead of apologizing and just being like, I'm sorry. I just I didn't know what to do. And I know you like Jonathan I didn't want to implicate whatever he nominated her. And so now she's obviously upset about that and about the deteriorating relationship here. So that's that's happening as well. Right remarkable game play is just like any person who might possibly nominate you at any point in the future. Just get rid of the don't try to build any prince because totally work. So tame our talks with Lolo and her solution to their conflict is all right? You know what? We just won't talk game. I'm not gonna talk game with you and Natalie anymore because I just I wanna be able to remain friends with you guys. Yeah. And not only that. But she's also not gonna talk to Ricky anymore because Ricky didn't come in check on her or check in with her at all during the day after all this happened. So, you know, she's also really mad at Kato. So she has just decided to with. With house and not speak. But for people now, here's the thing about taymor. If she is upset, and you don't go and see if she like how she's doing then you're dead to her. If you do come and see how she's doing then she'll probably get into an argument with you because she's upset, but that's better than not coming to see if she's upset because if you don't come to see if she's upset then you're dead to her like Kato and Ricky or just dead to her right now, and she never wants to see or speak to them ever again. But she will end up having a couple of hours later conversational Kato. So maybe maybe voiding her is actually the best Raji, and then talking with her after things have settled who knows who knows is. It's a tricky. It's a tricky situation wrecking situation. Tricky ricky. So we get a conversation with Natalie low low, Tom and Kato they come together to talk about the plan for the week. They discuss back Doering Ryan that seems to be the main plan right now is let's take off taymor and will end up back during Ryan and everything will be fine. And happy lo lo is kind of like what about Joey though, could we do Joey instead Ryan like maybe thinking about Joey because I still have some weird relationship with Ryan. Maybe I dunno argument, and I can't possibly I give her enough credit to not believe that she actually thinks this. But her argument for keeping Ryan is so funny to me, which is that like America is going to turn on you hit. Oh, if you nominate Ryan because Ryan is so popular it's America's sweetheart Ryan locked e who like we only know as like. Being a moron and be like lying about having a crime committed against them during the Olympics. Like is. He's the someone that people are like, no, not our poor. Sweet right. Not Ryan locked -i. I mean. To be fair as he points out when he's in the diary room there apparently telling him that he's made for TV. They're loving everything that he's giving them in the diary room. And I don't know I think he is kind of coming off as one of the more likely people on the cast, which is probably saying more about the cast. Hundred percent agree with? I think he's pretty good on this..

"But what it really hurt? We're all those all of us who argued for Georgia to being -cluded, and then the narratives, well, they didn't belong. Well, they did a long on the day that they were snubbed. But ultimately, you have to do something about that. If you're curvy smart, and he failed to do that. Andrei is in Atlanta, you're on the air. What did you say? Andrea coach, Paul femme. I guess smoking. He's talking about Tempa gonna make a bone there shift coat now. Tiffen hasn't done anything since they have Paul palm. But you told me to call you back after this season, and you gonna evaluate what you thought about LSU's total season. Well, I I tell you what I don't know. I cannot could not be more impressed with what coach show has done because he survived all the bad tidings of August. He survived a loss or to that. Right. That hurt. And and in the end probably should've beaten in that was a game that we can debate the end of time, but I should've refloated to coat. Yeah. Probably right. And in the end it was it was a great season. I mean that that is a possible turnaround career and program directions type season. Hosed? Drag is up next. We say, Greg. Hey, Paul, thanks for taking my call. LSU in Georgia play yesterday. You couldn't see two more different teams than than watching those two games on fold, and you know, the credit is due to coach for being able to use wide receivers in the backfield to play defense to finally put a nail in the coffin of a good power five team and UCF. And I'm sure after the game there were plenty of bans Martian through New Orleans. Playing funeral dirge for UCF. I. I came away. Maybe more impressed with UCF than I had previously. I thought they put up a great fight. They got a bad call early in the game that that may have just absolutely destroyed their momentum. But I never bought into the UCF championship stuff is you know, I got caught up in some crossfire with their fans, and I did say for the record that I would go to their championship parade and as I was leaving Orlando yesterday. I was glad I didn't have to go back. But having said that. Yeah. I mean, they represent a section of college football that that is very respectable in terms of what they do. And I thought their record was unbelievable..
