"H P h I'm Roger Mari Governor David Ikea on Friday Approved Kwai Mayor Derek Color Khamis request to temporarily opt out of the States Pre Arrivals testing program, which essentially stops all non essential travel to Kawai. The decision is effective Wednesday at 12:01 A.m.. And means that all transpacific and inter island travelers arriving in Hawaii are subject to the 14 Day quarantine, regardless of test results, Lieutenant Governor Josh Green told the Honolulu Star Advertiser the way to perfect the system for testing inbound Hawaii. Passengers for covert 19 would be to extend the mandatory preflight testing to four days from three And then require a second test upon arrival. Thea extra day to get tested for covert 19 before boarding a Hawaii bound flight would allow passengers more time to find a test site on the mainland and received their results earlier. Green said There is little reason to change the current system because it is working. Why health officials on Friday reported three additional coronavirus related deaths on Oahu and 92 New Corona virus infection statewide, bringing the totals since the start of the pandemic to 240 fatalities and 17,708 cases..

Hawaii Wants to Lure Visitors---but Keep Out Covid-19

"Hawaii is riding out the covid. Nineteen storm but geographic isolation isn't the blessing it may seem by a. hundred algata when hawaii's corona virus infections were rising in late august. Honolulu mayor kirk caldwell visited doctors in the covid. Nineteen ward of the queen's medical center the state's largest hospital. I could see it in their faces and in their eyes caldwell says the concern and fear. They had that by the following week. If things didn't change they were not going to be able to care for people that they were going to have to put them intense outside. It was a crisis that leaders in the fiftieth state hoped they would never face between march and may when a stay at home order was in place. Hawaii was averaging only a couple of new cases every day but as some restrictions were lifted in june resulting in a patchwork of state and local rules. The numbers soon began inching up by late. July hawaii was metaphorically ablaze with the bulk of cases centered on oahu. Home to two thirds of the state's population. The island lost one hundred and nineteen. New cases underlie thirtieth by mid august. It was averaging over two hundred today four days after his hospital. Visit with more than three hundred and fifty people hospitalized for covid nineteen symptoms on his island issued a second lockdown order with the blessing of hawaii governor. David ige our hospital administrators had informed us. If we didn't do something that they would become overwhelmed says he gay three months later. It seems hawaii's response may have worked as a new deadly wave of coronavirus infections sweeps across the us. Hawaii is one of the only states in the country experiencing relative reprieve. It reported one hundred and thirteen new cases on november twenty third according to data from johns hopkins university slightly more than its weekly average of one hundred six daily new cases. Only vermont reported fewer cases that day hawaii the fortieth most populous state has a low case. Count even when adjusted for population as of november twenty third. It has a weekly average of seven cases per one hundred thousand residents the lowest in the country by comparison. The highest per capita figure is belong to north dakota at one sixty and wyoming at one fifty four infection levels in hawaii have stayed relatively steady since mid-september while nearly every other state has experienced an increase it remains to be seen whether a slight uptick in recent days could be the start of a new upward trend however how has a wii so far avoided another major covid nineteen surge. The clearest reason is apparent on any world map geography. It's so obvious yet. It plays such a big role says thomas lee. An assistant professor of epidemiology at the university of hawaii at manoa and co chair of the hawaii pandemic applied modeling workgroup. He also served as the lead outbreak. Modular and forecaster for the hawaii emergency management agency this spring for hawaii. The pacific ocean has helped serve as the world's biggest moat travelers arriving there by plane. Essentially the only means of reaching the state with cruise lines. Shuttered have since march required to self quarantine for two weeks though since mid-october visitors can avoid isolation if they test negative within seventy two hours of arrival while the rules may have kept visitors from seating new infection clusters. They have also devastated. Hawaii's tourism sector which accounts for nearly a quarter of its economic activity. Some hawaiian leaders. Still don't think they're doing enough to prevent infections part of a broader split among hawaiians over whether and how to welcome visitors back during a pandemic derek kawakami mayor of quite county says new infections on his islands are related to the reopening of travel from the continental us. He's proposed a requirement that travelers get tested a second time after arriving. This virus requires layer upon layer of intervention and mitigating measures. Kawakami says we have to be able to respond quickly and boldly because it can spread like wildfire kawais. Recent uptick is tiny in relative terms on november twentieth. It reported six cases. Its second highest one day count so far but kawakami has good reason to be worried koci home to around. Seventy two thousand people has just nine. Icu beds and fourteen ventilators. Isolated and with limited healthcare capacity and uncontrolled. Outbreak could quickly spell disaster. The holy grail is prevention. So that is what we put our blood sweat and tears into here on kobe. Kawakami says we're almost always on the red line. A similar imperative applies across the entire state of one point. Four million people with nowhere to turn of hawaii's healthcare system is overwhelmed leaders. There have little choice but to be proactive. In preventing covid nineteen outbreaks. We are geographically remote and so our healthcare system is really vulnerable says catherine purple an associate professor of health policy and management at the university of hawaii minoa there really is a strong motivating factor to try to keep those numbers under control. Hawaii's isolation then is a double edged sword. Thousands of miles of ocean are a good tool to stop travelers from seating new corona virus clusters but if infection spin out of control anyway. Assistance could be a long time coming. We have been from the very beginning focused on the science and public health recommendations because we are twenty five hundred miles away from any help. Says the governor. We learned a long time ago. That we have to be self reliant and that we have to act as a community epidemiologists say it's difficult to attribute hawaii's relative covid nineteen success to any one factor isolation included for one thing cold weather which is forcing many americans indoors where the virus can spread. More easily is unheard of in most of hawaii. Honolulu's thanksgiving day forecast is eighty two and sunny. Other government measures may also have played a part unused hotel rooms and a wa who have been repurpose to isolate nineteen patients and restrictions on inter island. Travel have prevented. Local spread mask wearing has helped as well on kauai and a who mask. Mandates were instituted in april while an august survey found that ninety. Six percent of hawaiians are masking up. Unlike for many americans. Wearing masks to prevent illness isn't an entirely foreign concept for hawaiians public health experts. Say that's likely due to the states relative proximity to asia where facial coverings tend to be more prevalent. Many hawaii residents. Who commented for this article also cited the state's heritage and cultural values as a reason for high adherence to public health mandates. We have a culture here that comes from the first people's the native hawaiians called ball says the term juliana means responsibility and it does the people here in hawaii still leaders in hawaii have come under pressure over cove nineteen restrictions caldwell says people sometimes drive down his street to yell outside his house either at him or his wife and daughter. Some people certainly have reason to be upset. Travel restrictions have ravaged the state's tourism dependent economy hawaii's overall unemployment rate was more than fourteen percent in october according to the us department of labor the worst in the country for the second month in a row called bo says he understands people's frustrations but needs to prioritize. Public health. people are impacted. Their businesses are impacted. their life dreams are impacted. He says. I get why they're upset. But i also believe that in order to protect health and safety which is always the most important thing that comes first. And i think it's tied directly to the economy to after months of travel restrictions. Guy says the state's pretrial testing program finally bringing in visitors and helping hawaiians get back to work while keeping cova level stable still. Despite hawaii's current low case counts it remains to be seen if the state's leaders can revive tourism based economy while at the same time staving off a devastating rise in cases which would likely put the tourism business back on ice anyway depend on travel. Uk says but everyday day. I get comments from members in our community that continuing to bring visitors into hawaii during this time is really putting our community at risk. It's something that weighs very heavily on myself. And the mayor's every day as we see the virus counts increasing on the mainland.

Los Angeles Clippers Complete Historic Collapse As Nuggets Take Stunning Game 7

"Well. This night is going to be remembered for a long time and there's a whole bunch of different reasons why people are gonNA remember it. The laker fans have their reasons. the clippers fans have their reasons. The nuggets fans have their reasons I think I just clip. Yeah they're there It's it's rough right now. I mean I I I think any team that had duplex have experienced. What just there? That is a devastating blow, but I think I just watched. McMahon I'll see if you agree. was. An Absolute Total grade a choke. Oh, not just. All much in the three one aspect I mean that jokes who actually in the three one aspect especially in the blowing double figure leads in the last three games while choke in that even setting that aside, I'm just talking about the actual performance of night. Oh, what it only took him seven minutes in the fourth quarter to get a bucket. Yeah. Okay. We're of P. turnovers than frequent hold on hold your fire is just for a second dinner decided the backboard hold your fire for a sector. That would i. I think what I saw was that was a historic choke job and combined with a spectacular game seven performance by the nuggets or. Spectacular Three game comeback by the neck and look. Let's give the nuggets credit to straight series down three one comeback when Bo series Yokich. There's no. Yeah. But with Yokich is at minimum a second tier superstar right behind the parental VP candidates well. He was a I hear superstar in this game. For sure. He totally eviscerated Kawai Leonard in this game and really in the back half of the series but in this game. especially. Yeah I mean he he was great in this game I mean. Just. Look at the box score Paul millsap only had six points but. his buckets were huge. He played on the better six point three rebound performances. I've ever seen Jamal Murray. We've gotta get in this guy's on the Kahane's factor starting five this year forty points in a game seven. So yes. Absolutely, give the nuggets credit and we've got time to talk nice about the nuggets. But what we need to do right now is pile on the most arrogant bunch of guys. The most Arab arrogant franchises never sniffed a frigging conference finals and hey, props to the Portland Trailblazers back court for completely unloading their troll game. Warden CJ mccollum absolutely deserved to just fire away because you got Paul George and Patrick Beverley acting like they're on some frigging dynasty. They've never sniffed the conference files. Why are they act like there's some you know I mean come on now. So yes, I. I'll be honest I thoroughly enjoyed the collapse and the troll jobs that came along with it.

Clippers vs. Nuggets: How the teams match up for playoff series

"It's the clippers nuggets this one tips today Thursday at nine PM Eastern. interrupters. Ton of Christ, says, this is weird because that is my sister. Okay well. I. Now, it's good. Good good It's too weird. All right. The clippers took two out of three regular season Games including one twenty, four, one eleven victory in the bubble. So let's get to the keys to this series clippers nuggets, and then we'll make our predictions task whether you're watching. Well, Jamal Murray is going to be the number one objective for the clippers defensively. They're just going to be a Angel Momma and I think. This is GonNa be one series where quiet Leonard has to guard Jamaa. I think whoever's playing point guard for them is going to be too little to guard Jamal Murray whether it's beverly or Landry Shamet and I think Paul George is too big. So it's just GONNA work out. That Leonard is going to be on Jamal primarily that's going to be as matchup like it has been the last two times they played during the regular season. So that's GonNa be exciting, just watching Leonard. Have to exert a lot of energy expend energy. You know it's not just your plan pick and roll Shimomura he's going to give up the ball. He's GonNa frigging run around off ball and he's going to be dancing and I think. We know that guys are going to help out. With those guys I just mentioned and if zoo this is going to be a really big really big series for him. We saw what happened in in Utah if Rudy Gobert comes up and plays Jamal Murray. The numbers change so that's going to be there huge huge vote because this is going to be so hard for me to go and come after what he just did. Now he's going to be watching Kawai. Leonard and I think we can sort of lock in on this end of the floor because I think this is Paul. George series to take over on the other end and I think it's good Paul George. He's he feels like he had a nice fresh manscaping grooming fact that the fact that this is a new series he should feel. A little rejuvenated. Also. Because he's not going to have a tough assignment I think going up on the other end. I think Jeremy Grants going to be guarding quiet he has all year. Paul George at millsaps Tori Craig's little too small former. Michael. Porter. I don't know about that. I saw Paul George should have. The Freedom and the ability just because the defender he's going to have to go offensively and. Can expend all that energy. So I think that's what's going to happen. We're GONNA have we're going to get Jamal come back to Earth a little bit because this is the clippers defense here. Yeah

"Crushed the Mavericks last night. 1 54 1 11 is Kawai Leonard and Paul George, combined for 67 George, with 35 to break out of this shooting slump He's been going through, says he finally adjusted to being stuck in the Orlando bubble. Bubble got the best of me. I was just in a dark place really? Wasn't here checked out these past couple games just just difficult George, courtesy of TNT, not the laugh at the anxiety or depression or anything, but I might be the only guy who's ever felt anxiety and depression being stuck at Disney World. Most people usually enjoy those, but how about you know the honesty? Yes, it's refreshing, and I appreciate him talking about mental health. It's a big thing that a lot of people do not want to talk about because they feel it comes with the stigma. Yes, so good job by him coming out in the open and talking about that last night, And he said some of his teammates like mantra is Harold helped him by forcing him to get out of his room place. Madden kind of common down a little bit seemed to help. He was 12 of 18 from the field in last night's Was that the thinking?

Not a surprise to Clipper superstar Kawai. Leonard. You know we're doing everything You know, under the guidelines of testing every day. Trying to keep you know are so social distance from everyone. "Us well, but I'll say this. The one thing I think that can really hinder the Clippers is if Lou Williams decides that he wants to for gold the season and focus on the other things that are going on that he's talked about he ahs far as I'm concerned, the best of my knowledge he had necessarily committed just yet. So if he doesn't play with the Clippers, I think you take a guy that can give you 20 to 25 points off the bench. I think that that that would be Ah, devastation A so far as I'm concerned for the Clippers. Not that they can't compete. But when you have my leg Lou Williams, who was able to come onto the floor and play against a lot of second string guys, And even some of the first strange guys with his ability to score and create opportunities for others. I think that's a huge asset that that that allows the Clippers tohave even more comfort with Kawai and Polish hoards on the floor. Now the other you might catch a team that can get hot. But I think the team that plays the best defense that was born that they're gonna have any easier time. Coming back from the layoff, because if your principles and your foundation is based off the defense, then you understand that there's a moment in the game since you may not scores much, But if you're just the opposite thing, you're going to come in and outscored teams. I think that's the wrong thought process at think those seas will fall by the wayside a lot quicker. And those seeds with a little defense of foundation. And hopefully that'll be. The thing will be talking about going forward through July, August and September, instead of the potential stoppage again if there's too many cases off covert 19 inside the bubble, Bruce always a pleasure. Thanks for your insight. Be safety. Well, we'll talk to you soon. Take care, fellas. The defense of aspect. Very interesting to think about the Lakers to with Dwight Howard still in question with Avery Bradley, who opted out of playing in the bubble, both key defensive pieces for that Lakers team that had two piece me a lot of that roster together after Anthony Davis, LeBron James and the bulk of the money already being taken up before the season, And obviously Bruce knows about that. Because that was his go to I will shut you down. Coming up. The MBA players were getting set to resume even though some have wanted to stay away. Two continued the causes for social justice up next we'll hear from someone who did that already with incredible results..

LA Lakers: Takeaways from the first half of the season

"Win in Denver. A tough place right okay. Heading into the all star break four-game lead. I know it doesn't matter. Homecourt advantage Blah Blah Blah. How come we're not talking about how impressive first half of the season? This is for the Lakers. Everybody's talking about the clippers in the off season during the season because we live in a Wa Lakers are okay. Go ahead the last years of the number one seed. It didn't matter they didn't win a championship. The number two seed one titles is it. All I'm saying is the number one seed especially when we talked about it yesterday with the clippers if the clippers and Lakers they're all playing in the same building and I don't think it's that big advantage to beat a number one. I really don't have when they played the clippers in the playoffs. They have seven home games. Here the Rose Casino Clippers Games. There will be more Lakers fans there. There's no doubt about I think though is because we all know about the playoff. Yes we know Lebron you know. He had this great regular season but about winning the championship for both the clippers and the Lakers. I think that's why we're talking more about this than that. Great Win last night. It was a great win but it was. One of eighty two was impressive. You go to Denver and you beat them in their place. That's news that's really really. What are we gonNA talk as much about a if they lose their next game to a bad team? We're going to talk about the Celtics tonight. Are we gonNA have the same energy tomorrow? Words darn is big and is important as the Lakers in search of Lebron's not even that it's not even that what we've seen with Kawai is even last year. We saw him in and out of the lineup. In and out of the line of all regular season and then what happens in the postseason? He says I'm playing. He obviously has to play and look what the result ended up being. So with the with the clippers you automatically say he'll be sort of blew era. We see the same recipe being built in orchestrated here in La. We'll is okay you you too are starting irk me. With this whole. We saw the result the championship. Okay can we at least talk about this? Is You love to call. The warriors chip fraudulent Kawai. Leonard faced a team that Kevin Durant played twelve minutes in this series. Klay Thompson got her done. At what point are we going to say listen? It was a nice championship. Well done you. Do you mind being down Janas. Yeah they were GONNA smoke. Sorry let me let me say this off. This is the best player on planet Earth. Stuff you argue. He's in his better. This is designed to be. Why did you say Anthony Davis was better and Anthony? Davis legs Kuwabara Lakers to the Lakers. I'm not saying kawais definitely better. Clearly he doesn't control a game initiate an office like Lebron but clearly at this point a better defender at a goal to move Kawais. GotTa go to move where he had to undergo in the mid range. Yes but that's part of the discussion. He when he needs a bucket. He's GonNa get to a few spots in the mirror. Good above sixty five percent of those shots. The Brian has to drive all the way to the hole for it to be like some. You definitely think is going

Does the NBA need to do something about Kawhi Leonard's 'load management'?

"Cannot love something but no. It's good for the business. I don't love load management but Kawhi Leonard when he's is holding the trophy. Nobody's GONNA say November sex. You missed the game against Janos. Here's the thing and I was talking to a scout in the league about this today. When you do this type below management you better hold the trophy and June? You better because if that's why. Nobody was complaining last year in Toronto. 'cause they won if if you don't win the championship then you're going to get criticized for low manager. I think it's ridiculous. You don't like it. No not at all. We talk about the fans and all that but it's also deceptive. There are people. I don't know if this is true. Some will tell you that told the clippers. He's only gonNA play sixty five games. I I I was told I was told by somebody in the building. Part of the discussion was sixty. Five right right and look. I have said Kawai Leonard under deserves to be considered the best player in the world. Right now I think is the way he what he did last year. The play offs even his start this year he deserves. It had a now. Janas honest could take it this year. Lebron could try to get it back this year. Anthony Davis whoever but right now Kawai deserves that title. But I'm telling you I can't I can't give you that if you just sit now randomly because you don't feel like how you're healthy. It's it's three weeks into the season. Eight Games why in the world are you saying now almost think it's a mental block because in his nine years in this being nine so say eight first full years he only only plays seventy or more games twice. I almost feel like he. He's like if I played too many games. I'M NOT GONNA be healthy like I. I wonder if there's a mental by why in the world are you sitting when you're healthy. Well I think it worked for him. I think I'll say this. I Like Adam silver a lot David. David Stern was the owners. Commissioner Adam Silver is the players commissioner and if I start giving my kids ice cream for breakfast they e-expect ice cream for breakfast and was that ice cream due to them is gonNA ruin health and I'll say this. I think this is bad. Optics for the League for Middle America Erica. You Go to pay four hundred bucks. And you don't get Colli Leonard in Janas and I I would tell Adam silver to his face. He is incredibly pro player. Sure and so. What are the players do they go off? Players are doing in a game here there you know and certainly the last week or two. I don't mind when you're getting ready for the playoff games. That's fine but this is just beyond the Pale. In my opinion it really is an atom. Look Lee doesn't like this you think. ESPN's Inter it hurt the players pocketbooks. And maybe that's what will change and that's why the the players Association's get involved because the next TV deal you don't think. ESPN is going to bring this up if there is no question TNT in ESPN. Dan are fury right so that will lower their offers so that will affect the salary cap and what the players are making so the players association should get involved to be like like look. You gotta play when you're healthy. Play the Games. I and here's another thing and again I I like. I said he's a tremendous player. You can't dislike him as a person because he's quiet. He's low maintenance all that but I can't let's not let's stop the Michael Jordan stuff. I see your game I love the mid range. The two dribbles no wasted dribbles to dribble. Stephen A. Smith Claims New Balance Wants Kawhi Leonard In LA

"You know, if I'm new balance and co is a new balanced guy. Anybody wearing new balance right now? One really? Oh, no. I had is are you wearing new balance? I gotta okay. Three people wearing new balance. Brian wear new now. There you go. Kawais a new balanced guy. If I'm new balance. I'm talking to quiet. I'm saying, look this Toronto thing is cute, this clipper thing, that's that's really cute if we want to sell tennis shoes, if we want to sell sneakers, go to the Lakers, you sell. It doesn't matter how many Canadians you own right? Does how much of that country yours? So the fact is, there's only thirty million of them, right? There are three hundred and thirty million Erica in this country, Canadians might still buy your shoes anyway. Yeah. Exactly. Brought him agenda. So question that new balance would rather play here. Plus from a branding stamp of part of what your new balance you want to break out into a slightly more hip market, everybody thinks this for people way, and that are under fifty. Right. We're not we just don't make running shoes with, with no big kind of make shoes that older people use to walk through all walking laps along. If you want to change that perception, you do that in Los Angeles, do that, with a worldwide brand like the Lakers, and it's you start selling shoes, and China you start selling shoes. In europe. You start selling choose all around the world, right? Because even if you own Canada, Canada, kind of reinforces the things about your brand that you don't want to reinforce, right. And there's only thirty million people, right? It's, it's not a big market. Can't all wear new. There are people in right? There's they're far more people in California than there on Canada. Of course. I think it's just a little country. It's a small. On around numbers here. I think there's more people, there's more in America. Yeah. Tell me three states. Do. Issue thing. Plays Greg, I absolutely think it does it, it doesn't make any sense that you're not if you sell purple, and gold, new balance shoes, people are going to buy purple and gold bound new balance

"A good reporter. So the report that Kawai is going to have a meeting with the Lakers. He's meeting with the clippers that there's a meeting with Philadelphia as well. But that he's gonna meet last with Toronto. Is there anything to re trying to read the tea leaves with co is basically impossible anyway? But if he's going to Toronto in meeting with them I shouldn't say to Toronto he's meeting with Toronto last. Does that mean anything to me, it would just mean it you know, I'm have that conversation with, with them and let them know that I'm probably going to do something different rather than rather than do it before everything do it at the end, you know, because if you do it before you meet with the other teams that gets out becomes a whole deal. You do at the end and you let them know haven. I had a great time. This was this was great for me, and my family was wonderful, but it's not for me for the next six or seven years of my basketball career. I'll always appreciate everything that they've done for me here. Toronto. And that's, that's what you tell them. You say thanks, a lot and keep it moving. So the question is, what is the pitch gonna be, you know, the pitching in Philly is different than the pitch in Toronto and according to Brian horse. This is going to be the pitch in LA with the Lakers looks now. Like he's going to squeeze them all into more of a Sunday Monday window, which the entire league is going to be relieved by, especially the Lakers because the Lakers can't really. I mean on one hand, they have to sit there and wait for a no. From Hawaiian kyri. That's the whole point here. You're not going to close the door on those guys. On the other hand, the signings are going to start coming off the board, as soon as six oh, one hits and players that you may want Nagel away. So that Lakers would like it to happen quickly, but that they're going to wait. They're supposed to wait..

NBA exploring options to shorten schedule, add mid-season cup and postseason play-in tournament, per report

"This thing popped out on wednesday with the n._b._a. and i laughed because you start to read a little deeper into the kevin arnovitz from e._s._p._n. reports and it just doesn't make much sense and i'm not saying kevin arnovitz doesn't make much sense he makes a lot of sense it's just the n._b._a.'s going full n._f._l. right now and making tweaks and changes or at least proposing that's probably the operative word here some tweaks and changes about what to do in the twenty twenty one twenty twenty two season the seventy fifth anniversary year and it's like because it's the seventy fifth anniversary year day adam silver and the n._b._a. front office i guess owners feel compelled to introduce a ton of changes and it's just a lie lot all at once and i don't think that it's going to be totally overwhelming because you know the people that are looking at this like the purest so the ones that are thinking never gonna watch it again the n._b._a. doesn't care about you if your response to the change right now as well i'm not gonna watch any more than the n._b._a.'s clearly ready to move on and i have to be honest that's a something of a successful league okay that's a sign of an entire league not organization not one franchise but league that's able to just say okay we've got somebody disgruntled sir of disgruntled customer doesn't matter were that big we have that much going on right now that we can allow somebody to just simply walk but you look at what's going on i think a lot of it stems from the raptors successfully resting kawai leonard that not impacting anything clearly in the postseason one thing and i guess at the start is they want to reduce the number of games they want to change the schedule from eighty two and limited i magic sixty six is a name that's thrown around there but in kevin arnovitz this report a committee that consists of approximately a dozen top team executives from both basketball and business operations discussed with the league office ideas for alternatives to the traditional n._b._a. schedule for that twenty one twenty two season sources characterize a wide ranging brainstorming session with accompanying documents participants contemplated how the n._b._a. could introduce the f. for mentioned tournaments get to that in a second because arnovitz mentions it earlier in the report i did not mention it yet To accommodate all these additional events, according to those with knowledge of the conversation. Sources regard as very exploratory the proposed reforms would be adopted initially as a pilot program, the NBA would have the chance to observe the trial run, and so on in quote. so one thing the n._b._a. wants to do which the n._f._l. has been trying to do which i don't know how long it's going to be before major league baseball realizes they must do this is tweaked the schedule now the n._f._l. wants to expand but same thing tweaking the schedule so for the n._b._a. the biggest problem that there could have right now by shortening that schedule like if you go from eighty two to sixty six guess what you just lost some games you lost revenue you lost gate so what they want to do is create a champion sleek what they want to do is create some midseason tournament where i guess you would remove the all star game and maybe have that at the end of the year i don't know what you would do that or maybe have that in lieu of but you really wouldn't have the best of the best playing in this midseason tournament i don't know what the actual reward would be but in order to get your top players playing in that mid season tournament the reward would have to be some sort of seating in the playoffs and then that would negate i think the regular season so this whole thing just doesn't really make much sense because if you want to go to eighty two or let's say to sixty six from eighty two games you know that you need to make up those games you know you need to make it up and you can't just do it with sponsors from the on add on jersey ads throughout the arenas you just can't do that you're going to need to do something else that's why they've created or at least propose this mid season tournament idea at according to this report teams would play for a second separate title as i mentioned we've seen in european soccer and i told you the champions league so that the idea here is that they're going to raise enough money for this tournament with broadcast rights and everything else sold separately as part of it and that offsets the loss the n._b._a. the larry o'brien trophy is looked at as the end all beal now i got a credit the n._f._l. it's not like the n._f._l. just created a new lombardi trophy or a second trophy because they know how foolish that would be the n._b._a. nobody could do this nobody is just capable of doing this and the n._b._a. is not nearly as powerful as the n._f._l. so i don't know what the hell's going on here but it doesn't make much sense that they think that this play in tournament of the playoffs combined with this midseason tournament you keep adding tournaments you keep adding these round robin these playing type tournaments to offset revenue but the reality is that nobody cares about a trophy unless it's the end of the year trophy unless it's the how many rings does that guy have compared to lebron james or michael jordan nobody's gonna start factoring in midseason tournament rings when you talk about well does he have to six that jordan has what technically the guy won three n._b._a. championships putt let's be honest he's won four straight midseason n._b._a. classics who freaking cares if that's the case nobody's going to look at that like it's serious nobody's gonna look at that and attribute it's anybody's legacy it's the same thing it would be looked at similarly like he got voted into an all star team why guys made seven straight all star games yeah because he's one of the most popular players in the n._b._a. even though he's only played a combined forty games over the last five years but hey people vote in and we still put a lot of weight on that this thing is bizarre adam silver talking about changing and tweaking and adding things and they believe that if there are fewer games there would be a higher emphasis or at least more emphasis put by the teams of value on the regular season just overall these changes i get shortening the season if you wanna short season that's a good premise it's a good theory but i don't know how you put it into action when you're actually looking to offset the revenue loss which is why major league baseball has not gone from one sixty to

Reports: Pelicans agree to trade Anthony Davis to Lakers

"The NBA a little bit because there was a monster trade over the weekend. Anthony Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers. No, the trades not official yet. There's some cap stuff going on. The Lakers are trying to get the trade pushed to July thirtieth for what I've read the treat is expected to be completed on July sixth. But if the Lakers can get New Orleans who doesn't really them. Anything says might be a tough sell, but they can get New Orleans to push the official trade announcement to July thirtieth. They'll get like six million dollars. More cap space, which means they'll be able to offer somebody a mex- contract. If you know anything about the NBA free agency, you generally need to get these superstars on next contracts. They don't really consider you. Or hard to get them to come and Kyrie irvings a free agent. Jimmy Butler is a free agent Kumba? Walkers, a free agent. Kawai Leonard's a free agent and there've been a couple of reports since Davis got traded to the Lakers who are now by the way, the betting favorites to win the NBA championship next season. How about that? I mean they were almost a laughing stock this year. And they are the favorites to win the title. I mean you pick up the top five player in Paramus, Laurent, LeBron James, what's going to happen, but. I just I love the move for them and makes the NBA so much more interesting. It gives free agents that want to go to the Lakers, a short term any long term outlook because think about LeBron trying to convince guys to come there on your own. He's thirty five and even though I don't necessarily think last year was him slowing down. If I was him having an injury and being on a bad team. So one could think he's he's slowing down. And do I want to join up with that, now you've got Anthony Davis was twenty six years old and the prime of his career? And you think all right, short term. Yes. Long-term. Yes. All right. I'll come there and sense. This trade, you've got two guys that seemingly were not in the running to go to the Lakers, just like that. There are reports that they could be going. There's a report out there. The Kyrie Irving. Is going to take the Lakers seriously. There's another report that quiet Leonard is going to take the lake seriously. And if you get either one of them, then you are the super team of the NBA next year because the warriors, even if they reassigned Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant. Are not going to have them until. When may maybe maybe Klay would come back a little bit earlier, typical typically achilles injuries, take longer than ACL's, and Klay Thompson is a tough, dude. So I would expect Klay to come back, maybe earlier in that maybe like March, but you're not gonna have Durant until next year's playoffs. At least. So it's not going to be a super team for ninety percent of the season. The Lakers would be the team if they can get one of those guys if you can't fullback on Kemba Walker, who was all NBA this year, super good fall back on Jimmy Butler kind of a head case. But is a really good player. So I love that trade for intrigue and this off season in the NBA is going to be nuts or should be nuts. Durant could leave and the injury now affects that but there are still teams that want to give him X contracts come a Walker. Like I mentioned Butler, whether he stays in Toronto or not. I don't know how you watch that parade today and think he's not staying. But you never know nobody knows what his motivation is. He's an interesting character for that in, especially in a sport where it seems like we know. Everybody's motivations all the time, like Anthony Davis got traded on Saturday. We've known for eight months. Davis wanted to be treated. We've known forever. And even before that, you probably would have you probably would have been led to that knowing that he will head and signed a contract extension with New Orleans. You have insinuated maybe he wants to be treated that was over a year ago. Brian. I mean people knew a year in advance that he wanted to go to the Lakers, and then happened. We'll see if Durant goes to the Knicks. But if he does that. People been talking about him, go to the next for over a year. That would be like that. And here's Leonard and just no one has a clue. Mean there's betting odds on it. You can bet on it. I think part of the reason the clippers are always so high. There is just hey we don't really know. So we're just gonna put his hometown team there from LA. Lakers and clippers put him on there. I think that might be part of that, just, hey, we don't know the guys motivations you'd like to assume the playing at home is one of them. So let's do that. Let's make the clippers one of the favorites. But that do could go anywhere. You go to Memphis, who knows? Maybe likes country music. Nobody knows anything about this guy. He's a robot that no one can hack. Oh, today he let out some personality today. That was that was fun to see you don't often. See Leonard do anything remotely interesting. That's not on the court and he did that he made mocked himself today with his laugh. You know, he's being one of the

Kawhi Leonard sues Nike over 'Klaw' logo ownership

"Rafters collide Leonard and the big shoe brand Nike. And, or in court over at battle of his logo. So Kawai Leonard has filed a lawsuit against Nike for the claw his logo. He helped design or design himself, and allowed Nike to use it up to twenty eighteen when he switched to new balance, which he's wearing now any wants to be able to utilize that logo. So Nike trying to pull a switcheroo real fast in do the copyrights his back, but it was a little too late. He called him. He's filed suit. So should you be thinking about this doing the championship finals about a logo or should you be concentrating trying to beat the? Warriors. Well, co I seems to me to be a fairly single-minded guy. He doesn't get easily distracted. I mean, by all the other things that we've seen him go through last year, Saturday, entire season, basically, the nonsense surrounding where he's going to play Nike. He seems like he's able to focus on one thing at a time. These local things are interesting when you when you are with a brand shoot company, and you sit down to you sketch out the logo, and you sit down with their guys, you may have your own in at the end of the day, paperwork gets lost in transition, and they claim it, you claim it when you want to use it without them. They say no. But then yet still, it's yours. You own it. Right. It's, it's, it's one of the weirdest

NBA: Does Steph Curry Need The Finals MVP For His Legacy?

"NBA finals begin finally tomorrow night wide Leonard comes in under the most celebration on the other side of Steph curry who in the last five playoff games has been absolutely sensational. Scoring even more than Kawai. Steph has three NBA titles to MVP's already but not a finals, MVP Colli does by the. Curry said, quote, it's a special award that everybody wants to get, including myself. But at the end of the day, the first thing I do is look up and see, did you win or lose on quote, we'll curry need this particular ward to validate his great career. No. And the fact that I never even thought about this today as much as I think about uncover, the NBA illustrates why. I mean, I've never thought about this now. It's interesting historical thing, Tony for particularly for older people like us who know the history of the league, and I think back on it, and of the people who've one of those who've won top twenty five place fifteen eighteen twenty players Julius Erving to me seems to be the most famous most accomplished has conic player who is not one because the other conic players, you know, they didn't win or they were the number two guy like Kevin McHale or, or someone like that Scottie Pippen great, great tonic players. I'm not gonna say they certainly are where they are. And I think Julius Irving is the guys is the only one. Right. I guess as Carmello Cremona, John Stockton, but they didn't they didn't. They didn't want to Patrick like you. Reggie, those are not commonplace like you. Seth curry has a chance to be an iconic. He's got a chance to win four championships in five years, he's the greatest shooter of all time. All right. I think of this as a small, it just doesn't even register on me, but, but magic Scott it and birds got it and Jordan's got it and his contemporaries Durant LeBron have this. So if you want to use this as disqualifier because you don't like curry, I guess you can not. I I he's an all time players ever wins this because of everything. He's one I think, might I think this is too small. You gotta get to the finals Griddle with you willing some place winning is the thing again. Tony, I just call it historical greatest note, but does it mean devalue Steph crises, not cement us, now

"And he's in the post, and he's on the wing. I think that they're gonna force coli. To pass the basketball is much as possible. But try to stay within their integrity when they got it LeBron. They couldn't take the ball Allah lebrons hands, because he moved around so much. He didn't handle the ball is much. He's done with the Laker. So it made it hard to impossible. That's why became let's just contain them. Let's be physical with him. I believe a problem for Kawai is foul trouble ego Dala, and clay, if they get in any type of foul trouble, they don't have an answer. I don't believe drain not king guard him for twenty minutes. I believe that the dream, lots lack of moving side to side in gray. Mama, definitely. Get in foul trouble. So I'm looking forward to seeing what the warriors, we'll do. This is the worst defensive warriors team. We've seen in this five-year run, though. And if they are going to cause I think they will do exactly what you're talking about a Fairmount, particularly if qui- is the one bring the ball court, which he has been doing at times dream on won't be a part of that. Because drain onto the key to the three Mandy. Defense they would be running if they send to Adam Jones got kind of play center field, but no matter what defends the warriors qui-. I want the audience understand the type of problem that's on their hands. Twenty eight and five on fifty three percent from the field. Forty six percent from three that's quite Leonard thought last time. He was in the playoffs. This isn't a one year wonder here. That's quite Leonard what he was doing until Zaza maimed him by putting his foot under his ankle. Like so this year's thirty one nine and four on slightly actually worse. Percentages, like qui- was building the resume of all around playoff killer, up until midway through the third quarter of the Western Conference finals that the Spurs had a huge lead on before he got hurt and they in play the rest of that series basically didn't play at all last year. And then he picked up this year exactly where he left off. He had a really interesting quote during the season that I had forgotten, Kevin O'Connor mentioned on his podcast yesterday, which was. Regular season games, he said, are my practices to get ready for the postseason and kyri. It's similar commentary, and then the postseason came, and he flow fell flat. Co I said that and he is proven himself right to load management that working on the weaknesses in his game throughout the regular season. So he is peaking at the exact right moment, which is to say, no matter, what defense, they play, they trying to play him, straight up if they blitz him if they do a little bit of both today, have a rotation of guys on no matter what defense you throw them quite as going to hurt you to question is to what degree. And when you do force the ball out of his hands who else can make shots or those guys going to miss the open shots, general with all that being said, Antoine. Let's go back to what Doc Rivers mentioned that this is the most like MJ that, we've seen what have you seen Kurai in a comparison like that one that doc made who's some Michael window because he school. He has a good mitt range game. I think Michael probably because Kawais heart plays above the rim, a little bit better than does, as far as tacking the ram. But quite lost a little bit of that. What is injury? But basketball wise. Yeah. Because he plays both the flow. Michael God, the best player dude things defensively. And the way coed does it. He knows his spots. He picks his spicy knows where he wants to go on office. And if you watched most guys plan is Lee now especially the superstars. They don't really have say had those type of games like wack wack kind of separates himself. Lebron has a game to me. I think you know, obviously James harden nest. Ow. But every night co I you know, he's gonna Hickey get mitt rains. He gets a free throw line ten times. And he's added three point shot to get forty percent. So now becomes really, really dangerous..

Kawhi Leonard free agency rumors: Raptors superstar expected to seriously consider re-signing with Toronto

"Quite Leonard has been other-worldly this post-season from what he did at the end of the Sixers series with the raptors in Eastern Conference semi's to what he's been doing so far carrying the offensive load and matching up defensively the last three games with Yaish, and it's we get bogged down in some of these off the courts story lines around the warriors in Iran, some other players, but it hasn't been discussed too much about Hawaii, who is going to be a free agent at the end of the season. Now that they're within a game Ryan of the eastern excuse me of the NBA finals up in the Eastern Conference finals three games to two. What an NBA finals appearance potentially sway Kawai to stick around in Toronto. Absolutely. And I think it's going to have to be a win of finals victory. If they beat Golden State, it would be really, really hard for Kaleida leave every moment that they win. And every moment that they push forward is going to be tougher for quite a move forward. Now, the one thing in the clippers favor because I believe right now the favourite to land. Kawhi Leonard, is that Kalis already one in the NBA you know normally there players that are chasing their first victory. They don't know what this smells like they don't know how to win. They, they haven't seen fifty win seasons or deep runs. Well, that's all that has been used to. He's really been spoiled a winning now this is different because he's doing it. I don't want to say on his own, but he is the man and nobody can question that. But you're the clippers as soon as he keeps moving forward, keeps winning things are going to be tougher and tougher on you in free agency. How do you leave a good thing? And it depends how like I said how the season winds up. I mean, I think it's interesting because the question is what does coli really want? What does he want next and, and you bring up the point Ryan that he's won a championship before? So that's not what he's necessarily chasing. I would think, and I don't have the answer to that question. But I think that for him to stay in Toronto. I think that he or to even entertain that I guess that question for me he would have to win the whole thing. I think that's the only way that it becomes realistic that he's actually going to stay in Toronto because otherwise it's like I did everything that I can do. I'm this isn't where I'm from a minute different country. I've only been here year. It's a new team is really nothing. That's keeping him there. He doesn't have roots there. There's nothing. I just holding him there. I think it's enough for him to say. I gave my all. What did you did everything that I could do I played hard for you guys? But I'm going home going to LA. What are you guys drive from this? He has voice that he wants to go home as you just said, in the second thing, he's voiced is that or at least his camp is that they want to be recognized as a star and get star money, and you would get that in LA or, or New York. So to speak by kind of leaving Jordan Brandon's saying man, you guys aren't taking care of me. I'm going to new balance. Right. Yeah. And then trying to figure out what cool, why is thinking. I mean he is one of the most guarded superstars that I can remember. I mean in terms of trying to figure out, you know, like trying to get into his head my okay, clearly this is what he's thinking because he doesn't give you anything to try to attempt to read between the lines. And that's what it all comes down to is what is thinking. What is cool? I want. And there's not much that he leads on out there. No. The only time I feel like I truly new Colli was thinking was when he shot that last second shy. I can't the Sixers that at that point. I that is the most I have seen out of his entire career. I am. I wrong am I wrong? And then he came right back to what were you doing? He just went right back into boring cliche mode. Yeah. I think that will be it'll come down to the wire. You know, we'll, we'll continue to talk about it debate about it. Try to guess try to, to get something out of his camp because we won't get it from him. And we won't know until he actually makes a decision at this point, because an end, it is something that I actually really really appreciate about coli. He leaves you guessing because he's not giving you anything. He doesn't tweet something he doesn't accidentally like something or you know what? I'm not gonna throw shade there. Charles Barkley's Warriors Prediction Was Extremely Wrong

"We promised to Charles Barkley last Thursday and today, we deliver, let's welcome back NBA on TNT analyst, early member of the ball brotherhood, and EMMY award winner ten fifteen times Charles Barkley because we love you. We're going to play a small clip here when Kevin Durant got hurt. You had some interesting comments, you won't see it, but you'll hear it 'til we play those, please. They're not going to be two rockets without K D, And they're not going to be Portland or Denver. Dow K where we all right. So because again, we love you, what have you got to save yourself, as they have moved on. Well, listen, nothing but kudos, first of all I was one hundred percent wrong, but kudos to the Golden State Warriors, and the two things strike me. Steph curry is put his name back in the conversation. Tony, we talk about the best players in the world. We took it. We talk about Katie Janas Kawai. Lebron Steph covers proven re he's the two time MVP he's been fabulous. But I wanna give shut up to Steve Kerr and his coaching staff because they got guys on the bench who have come into game going back to game six against Houston, and played fabulous. And that's the coaching staff. It lets me know when they're not playing games. They're working with those young players. So though, to two things that stood out to me doing this four game winning streak against the blazers and being the rockets in game, six Charles, you liked Portland, all year. A year. And even this week, they had double digit leads in the last three games. I mean, clearly they weren't scared the warriors, but they couldn't close. What did you see? Why couldn't they close any of those games out? Mike. I'm not gonna watch. I was very disappointed the trailblazers. I picked him to get to the finals to have three double digits lose lease and lose those games that can't happen, but was more disconcerting to me dim getting swept. You know, one thing, I'm very proud of I never got swept in a four-game series. You gotta have guys on your team. At least one guys that we're not gonna get swept. You can lose the series. But you can never give swept that tells me some stuff going on, they're not mentally tough enough Charles you. And I of course are here in Toronto for tonight's game four with bucks. And raptors can you see for a second straight game? Toronto's defense with all that double teaming ill led by Leonard keeping Janas having a mediocre game again tonight. Do you see it happening again? Well, I think it's going to be interested in night because of the double overtime game Kawai looks like he's a little injured to me to raptors. Do not have the depth to complete compete with the bucks. I think is going to be very interesting. How they come back physically from a double overtime game. I really want to run toe to win the game tonight. I would love to see a six seven game series to sit on this over out west of amendment. Walk is going to be tough to beat 'cause they got in my opinion.

Can the Sixers make it work with Ben Simmons?

"Our first name today. However is Ben Simmons because before Volonte and I got to Philly last night. We went to the game. He told me he wanted to see all the unhappy faces if Toronto eliminated the home crowd. But instead we saw joy we saw Simmons's bestself. We saw the Sixers ensure game seven in Toronto. So Bo what Dr night in Philly tell you about this team. They Jimmy Butler is about to get reach. There is no stronger conclusion that you reach attribute being in that arena. It'd be like, wow. This match is perfect. And this team absolutely needs him because he's the grown up in the house. He's the guy that could initiate the offense, and he can allow this bestself Ben Simmons that you're talking about which is a Ben Simmons. That pushes it in transition and on offense is kind of a garbage man in a lot of ways. But I thought the biggest difference was seventh was he moved without the fall, which he doesn't often always do. Otherwise, but not for one ninety Jimmy got that ain't ain't no going back on. Now. Jimmy is getting the max and everybody that we saw in that arena, at least is going to love giving him that much money. But Ben Simmons you mentioned him one of the reasons he was so affected was because they did something defensively on Kawai Leonard that opened up Ben Simmons this whole series. The raptors kind of felt we're getting away with Kawhi Leonard getting to make his way through defenses basically single cover what they did in. This game was sent multiple bodies. At him. Turns out the Leonard will pass the ball to open teammates, all of those open. Teammates missed a ton of open shots. So the raptors miss open shots and who's corralling those rebounds, the Sixers and who was pushing the ball in transition. But our man Ben Simmons who can do that. Very well, see, that's the thing. Those open shots Roger said a couple of those. We're talking about a completely different game. Like this was a good performance from the Sixers and like that I've popping plus forty number for. Envied is going to jump out. But this was not something they told me that they magically figure this out. And that they got what the solution is to Toronto. No, I think Toronto released four this series still has the best player in this series. They'll be going back home, and are you counting on another like back to back? Good games out of been Simmons. Because I can't trust after you have the raptors went I got a seven I have the Sixers not least because I am again. Got to other reasons.

"They're not playmakers. Coli get it bucket guy. Do you know the warriors have a losing record when Durant scores over four? And I'm not saying Kalis, not great. But he does feel sometimes like he's just getting points for co. Why here's where I'm going to disagree with you all those guys you mentioned co why Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant? They could fit into a System cO. Why? Makes other players better. Because nothing don't give you thirty or so some odd points. He's going to play great defense. A he's going to do it within the system, which means he doesn't take away and he's going to do it efficiently shooting sixty two percent in this series. You know, he's over fifty percent. He's going to do it efficiently. Which means I don't have to take a ton of shots to get my points. And I do it within the system. So I'm not taking away from your starter. Lebron is obviously a better player historically didn't Kawai, but LeBron becomes the system. The brand makes average players who can't really do much on their own much better. Cow Kover shame Batty and oh Allen. You know, guys like that. Did he make Chris Bosh better? You make the way way better. Did he make Kyrie Irving better? He's so good to heal. You be in position to do. What you do in shine at the tight on the finals? But he doesn't make those guys better. He becomes a system in dominates the ball. And he's a willing passer and a great passer. So you get your opportunities if you're the second guy, but that's her guy. Kevin love Bosch, you kind of back up. So you think those guy Durant? The one thing that LeBron is better than Durant not not now necessarily mystically. But the thing the ran has over LeBron or one of the things is he can fit into a system he fit seamlessly into into Golden State. That's fair. Every once in a while he gets in his ice. Oh, but for the most part his win win Kawai goes to the clippers. Are you concerned at all about hostile? No, he'll be like he fit with the tour with the raptors right away. If LeBron goes somewhere, everything changes you got to adjust LeBron. Now, he's a willing pass. He's going to do his thing. And you're going to be good, but you got to adjust. So I think those guys do Michael Jordan every championship in a system. Think about that the triangle, listen to this got a minute left. Klay Thompson dad played for the Lakers. Dad works for the Lakers. Lebron said he'd love to play with clay yesterday story comes out from wash that he would prefer the clippers over the Lakers. So let's let's add this up Paul George born in Kelly Laker fan shows. Okay. C Monty Williams chose the chaotic Phoenix Suns Klay Thompson. Now would rather play for the clippers and Dhamar Durose and went to USC loved the Lakers stayed in Toronto. We got ourselves a problem here. Right. Like. Does ending up out here. You do not have the pieces to trade for Anthony Davis is LeBron gonna wake up on July fifth and have Kyle Kuzma as his best player. Whatever look Anthony Davis because give Kyra leaves is Danny as giving up Jason Tatum for what could be a one. If I have to go through Jaanus to win the east. I'm going to get Anthony Davis. Okay. Okay. I'm looking at you on us. So I'm just saying, I agree. They're not in the driver's seat to get Anthony day. Okay. So if not have a shot now during the hail Mary Jimmy Butler, right Jimmy, Butler Kimball. But here's what if I'm the Brian this what you want from LeBron next year LeBron has got to. And I know he understands you need a superstar. Everybody's had a superstars when they win for the most part in NBA history..

So all of a sudden we have the super team that looked Ron Durant Westbrook Kawai Katie goes back to Oakland city, and he find that validation fish stew predicts LeBron Kawai CPI three Wade and Carmelo in Miami way. You go down to Miami, you men fences. Get back in the good graces. Kawai do not play another game for that team. They're going to trade in the off season the he'd have enough faces. Get Coa it's going to be a why LeBron Wade, Carmelo ball all the heat uniform next year we would have that predicts LeBron combined and Paul, George. Paul, George is headed our way. And it's LeBron Kawai at it's Paul George ticket on the Golden State Warriors, maybe eight years. Well, Stu says Joe Haden to the patriots, and he'll make a Pro Bowl on offense. I guarantee you put him on the patriots this year. He makes a pro, maybe not at cornerback wide receiver, but Joe Haden will find himself in a Pro Bowl guarantee it. "To talk about of course with a pair of blockbuster trades. In both baseball and basketball I felt like Gregg Popovich was, as close as coach pop could get to. Being giddy or even happy I don't know that Gregg Popovich, giddy going the same sentence but he was, verbose for coach pop heat a lot to say complementary. To Kawai his Spurs legacy Refusing, to rip him or to even talk about the past Heals us that I don't talk about Tim Duncan either And I couldn't be, happier is what he said about acquiring demar to Rosen who has three. Years and, eighty three million dollars left on his contract I mean who wouldn't be Almost giddy to acquire, a guy who averaged twenty three points five assists four rebounds per game and, a team that had a franchise record fifty nine wins in the top. Seed in, the other conference Now they lose Danny green as well so both Kawai. In green made that defense very tight very physical at times On the perimeter as co. I can play anywhere but on the perimeter as well, as on the wings And now we'll see how San Antonio emerges from this They brought some, previous guys back the re-signed guys they like their veterans They like is who understand the system. Tomorrow loon that quickly And on the flip side He's got one year left on his deal is indicated he's not interested in resigning with Toronto or in staying there until it's a big risk by the raptors unless of. Course they would, wanna title then you, say, who cares if you. We've we, got our ring. I mean let's be honest It would stink, to, give up one of. The faces, of your franchise But this is the business. And the goal the ultimate goal is to be the last team standing so if it, took Hawaiian Danny green. And trading Dhamar for them to get the rain the rain is thing the ring is the blaming is the thing And so what's. Your reaction now it's been about twenty four hours in fact it was this time yesterday, that I was reading. The insta- story then tomorrow then put up I hope that. He's happy in San Antonio 'cause it's it's tough When guys get blindsided with are happy in their current situation and they're productive and the rug pulled. Right out for them But Toronto needed. A change it needed a change. At the top it needed to change with its leadership and needed a change in heart it needed to change your perspective it needed a shakeup Because what. They were doing wasn't working and I'll. Say this until I'm blue in the face so that everyone can hear. Me it's not about losing LeBron. James and the Cavaliers It's about how they lost It's about. Not being mentally tough enough. It's about not fighting back You know, the Indiana Pacers lost the first round of the Cavaliers as well but was there any? Part of them that lay down or. Didn't put up a fight The raptors did the exact opposite which is why the series was, over in four games not just about LeBron that's that's cheesy that's too easy and cheesy It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio inside. "Leverage because kawai has done so much to hurt his trade value versus everyone else i it seems like the lakers should be able to get him and still keep some of their as a good pieces so you take that to corner to peace as your cornerstone and then you still potentially gotta lonzo ball and or maybe a cow coups my yeah that could be interesting team in a hurry he andre i i would like you to rank the lakers young players in terms of who should stay and who who would you would be willing to let go we're talking ku's murphy talking brandon ingram taco lonzo ball josh hart who would you like to keep most and which one would you be willing to let go for hawaiian that is interesting because i think i'm going to give you an answer that i don't hear a lot of people in the media saying to me the most untouchable is lonzo ball his his skill set is so unique i'm sitting here in vegas now watching the summer league and i i was out here last year watching him and even though maybe physically he kind of looks like placing kid but his game looks so much like jason kidd youngster but maybe even a little better so so he's doing i would i would definitely hold onto the lakers next up i would say wobbly coups mma because you know i think the argument made that ingram is a better around player when now the kouzmines was a better shooter and on this team that will be built around the bron i think that that that shooting is a much more of a premium so i would say maybe coups masecond and then ingram third and then josh heart would be you know that the easiest for me to include of that group and even see i would i would probably go i'm with you on lonzo but i think that ingram to me because he's younger than coups ma and you look at kind of and again i know this is projecting you look at the way he projects like in comparison to someone like paul george let's say in his second season he's actually outperformed him to that point and look i think that would brandon lacks a little bit of is maybe the aggressiveness that kouzmin may have but again we're just talking about a young player that i he would be the guy i think that you have to throw in into the deal i think that teams most want him of all those guys that we mentioned but i i would try my best to keep him if i were the lakers simply because of how dangerous i think he can become no i could definitely do that argument i mean i think is i was kinda pointing out in vacuum i think i would rather have ingram than coups mma i was trying to take it up the stance of okay guys did i feel like kim kind of fit around their current pieces in this championship window if you will assuming that the trade is bring it back leonard and been coups moves shooting would be maybe a little bit more valuable for for this team or for that team but no you make a great point i mean ingram is still you know he he looked really good last year and he's still on the way up he's just turned in a article about the fantasy rent mitha basketball ramifications of you know the free agents this year and i was pointing out how the bronx coming to la in especially if quiet comes to i feel like ingram's production is one that would be hurt the most because he's the one that kinda get the most with the ball whereas kuzma you know you could turn him into a pure finisher and that's what he likes to do i'm not sure ingram bits quite that easily you know looking at was happening with the rest of the league and carmelo anthony name has been batted around by a few teams with chances to actually win something do you think the best fit is houston which seems to be the one chris paul thinks is the best fit whereas other place that shit land light the lakers committal anthony is an interesting story.

"Will give max deals to demarcus at boogie cousins and campbell walker they will trade the eighth to the spurs for kawai leonard and resigned king james good luck with all of that first of all they have no room to sign boogie cousins even more lebron's money coming off to cap they're still capped they're not gonna be able to afford boogie and by the way he's going to stay in new orleans who can pay him more money than anyone else can and give an extra year on a contract so they're not getting boogie cousins kemba walker is under contract i'm pretty sure james looked at up of cameras got a player option out this year i think he's got another year to go so they can't just sign kemba walker he's not a free agent he's still under contract to charlotte so he's wrong nair they'll trade the eighth pick in the draft for kawhi you the pick in the draft going get your quiet leonard there's about four or five six or seven teams that are going to want to try and acquire quiet leonard if san antonio decides to trade him which they haven't yet but there are certainly indicators that say they might just do just that but they get more than eight pregnant draft are you kidding signed boogie almost impossible sign kemba walker absolutely impossible you'd have to trade warm he's got a year to go on his contract and kawhi leonard for the eight pick in the draft no chance no shot no way so curtis i got news for you guys might win the series you might end up being right they might even win four in a row which i think is a little outrageous on your part but i can tell you for sure your re tooling of the cavs is got no chance tap whatsoever you just tip your hand as blatantly blind loyal cabs ran when you suggest moves that have not little chance of appaling no chance of happening so good luck to your cabs dare curtis i wish you luck if lebron winds up perfectly fine with that you know i'm a big lebron guy but i will tell you i think there's a better chance that he goes elsewhere then stays in cleveland now elsewhere includes three or four four or five of.

"Yes keys in their rookie year the lakers of course there's rookies involved with the lakers they are managed by a couple of first timers in their respective roles with the team magic johnson rob pelinka you mentioned the trace is you guys think that they approved their doubters long for me i mean i think they really haven't proved anything yet because you know this is the biggest one of the biggest off seasons for them and the next two years they can't land what you know they cleared out a lot of space to to open up for lebron kawai or paul george they can't land any of these then no they haven't proved anything so they fail all they've done is set the table yeah they have to throw even even if you're the los angeles lakers salary cap space means nothing until you close i'm not i'm not saying that that but i think look kyle kuzma i think as you mentioned a great example pick it what twenty seven at you created the sort of the nist you created the build that group that core group of young players that maybe other people want to come and see now if they can find a way to pull off and i don't know paul george and then co i leonard la people back together and all of a sudden l right back in it then they've passed with flying colors right now the jury's still out i'm going on smaller increments they drafted well and that's a big thing and not something we've always seen from this organization they didn't hand out any crazy contracts over the summer it's the best time is trade and frankly i think another smaller sized test this summer will be magic johnson start to get these people in the room because lakers fell off over the last couple of seasons of even getting free at meetings guys nobody wanted to bother and i think part of the reason jeanie buss brought in magic was get these people in the room people wanna talk to magic johnson i think they will coming up we'll much more on irving season ending these surgery what does this mean for hey.

"To make a decision if he's not here and he's putting out feelers saying like you know i don't know if i want you know what it's funny guys watch each other in the nba everyone's gonna look kyrie kyri left a good thing to go pursue something that he thought was great for himself kawai might be thinking the same kyri did you know i've got a good thing in san antonio but is there a great thing for me is there a better situation he's just sort of testing the waters before he commits longterm to san antonio what is there a lebron and san antonio that's chasing coli out like i really wanna leave leave cleveland partly because he was sick of being around lebron no no i don't think there's a i know right lebron sunde him hard and he's still sign him but but there's nobody chasing quiet out i do believe that there's so many ghosts of the past though in san antonio you know from you know the the tim duncan error even now to tony parker and ginobili still being on a team but still having to figure out their new roles coming off the bench like there's so many ghosts and there's no clear to find you know popovich's fantastic love him to death he's a great ambassador for the nba but at the same time he's very rooted in what worked in the past and he's going to just have to find a new way to navigate new leadership now in the present whether it's you know trying to get lamarcus to stay which he has communicated that in a good way and then now trying to convey kawais importance and building this foundation for the future and at the end of the day it may not work or may work but we all know that code popovich he he he's able to keep a team relevant during the interim sticker on espn radio chennai ogm mckay is in for jonathan all right so we go from san antonio and kawhi to.

"This upcoming off season you'll have time to actually make a deal where you're maximizing what you get back if i thought that relationship was in a place where like all the signals being sentenced they want outs otherwise why wouldn't he be back unless he's truly hurt in a mysterious way where to be difficult to anticipate what he'd be like when he got back well this he's supposed to be back from this injury already who i leonard i think went healthy is the second best player in basketball to lebron james but he hasn't been that for the spurs year on beginning to seriously doubt whether he'll be that for the spurs again we'll hold a first of all i'm not doubting anything about lennon one he gets healthy i think that he'll be back to his old self the only question is whether or not he'll be healthy and we're not doctors he gets healthy i have every confidence that he'll return to form but let's take this consideration let's let let's think about this the second the cleveland cavaliers had kawai kyri urban under a contract for two more years some would argue they was stupid to move him regardless of what he wanted they should not have kapit elated they should have held on the career oven because what was he going to do not play basketball they didn't have to move him they automatically elected to move him in a damn show didn't have to move within the conference to the boston celtics but dan gilbert was willing to do that anyway and it may come back to bite them we don't know but it might you take a while in the consideration you're in san antonio the only reason why we talk about perspective marquee free agents and their willingness to go to san antonio this might the greatness of gregg popovich is the fact that you've gotta starlight kuwa did nobody's relying on the markets all just lamarcus aldridge is a damn good player until the playoff show up and then he shows up for one game and disappears for the.
