"Welcome back america. I'm hugh hewitt. Thank you for joining me. On this thursday morning senator. Tom cotton from arkansas. Is my guest. Good morning senator. Thank you for joining me. Good morning to you. It's good to be on with you as always. I've got a lot of things to covering begin. Perhaps counter intuitively with your on the senate judiciary committee. I played part of your questioning of the nominee jennifer sung the night circuit. I would not vote to confirm anyone who signs such a letter. Will you know of course not huge. Jennifer song is a far left lawyer who signed a letter the day after brett cabinet. I was nominated. I think she called him intellectually and morally bankrupt and predicted that people will die if he's confirmed Look i'm saying disagreeing with kavanagh's rulings. When he was a judge now justice. I disagreed with the here and there as well Disagreed much. every justice's rulings here and there. So i'm a lot more than others. Obviously but i'm not aware why you probably morally bankrupt and it is sung obviously couldn't predict the person or the person who has died in the last three years we vertibrak break capping off to the court. I gotta say no. That's just the tip of the iceberg. The by the ministration has nominated dozens. Maybe hundreds of people whose twitter feed. Show them to be totally unhinged. I i mean they really went off the deep end in the trump or some people that i genuinely respected from the obama era. Maybe i didn't agree with them all the time. But i thought especially in the world of national security. They were responsible sensible sober-minded professionals even if we had our disagreements here and there about say how to confront isis or What our policy iraq was. And then you look at me. Twitter speeds. When i come back in front of us to be confirmed this time around. And they sound like crazy people ranting in the

"Systems like ours institutional conservatism produced. People like lindsey graham. You know who are. Basically the leaders are basically fragile. The really good at performing giving some three minute performance in judiciary committee hearing on behalf of a supreme court nominee. Who were all supposed to believe is gonna save us right bret. Kavanagh's gonna save us. I mean i never thought that. They one springboard. I don't wanna system. Which supreme court makes these kinds of decisions. That's not democracy. Second i never thought brett cab not single super impressive. I hope he is never seen it to me. But lindsey graham who is absolutely elastic. The Goal of the American Marxist Is to Destroy the Current Society

"Depression in this country. The Democrats know it. Keep something in mind. The influence of the American Marxist on the Democrat Party is significant. And what is their goal, ultimately, to destroy the existing society, replace it with some kind of Rube Goldberg Marxist socialist system. They're never very clear about what it is, but it doesn't really matter. Any important storm critical race theory, critical immigration theory Critical trends theory. I call them those things and that's fine. And so for them. It's a win win. But they have to also control the political system. That's precisely why They want to control the Supreme Court. I don't know why they pretty much control it anyway. You can see. Tony Barrett Kavanagh. They've already buckled. John Roberts wants to be the next, uh Chief Justice Warren, So that's three. Um Pretty much there's there's three Constitutional is left on the Supreme Court to in particular one most of the time. And that's where we are. But that's also why they want to change our election laws. They're breaking their backs. They're afraid the house will be taken by the Republicans. Given the economic situation that's right on the horizon. To try and institute with no majority in the Senate. They don't the majority in the Senate. It's the Constitution that gives the vice president of vote. They have no significant majority in their house. They're hanging on by a thread. And by the way, the finished thread in 100 years.

"Ticket accommodations. All that jazz. Go with a couple of buddies like where. Where would that be for you that you haven't been to. I'm trying to think no budget. There's no budget no budget. It's on it's on the house. You're too young to know. But have you ever watched fletch. The movie fletch. Just put it on underhill. It's the tab at the country club. Yeah i don't know. I mean i've been i've been to all corners of the us and i never been to australia. I feel like australia would be pretty cool We fortunately went on a cool trip to italy after My sophomore year at notre dame team trip. That was really cool. I guess i don't know. I don't know i don't know about each. I feel like yeah. Well you got some time to think about and we could back. What did you mean when you told me that like you were into events is at like concerts. What is that. I mean just like in terms of like just like washing sports in just like being at live sports i think that's like one of the coolest things You know washing. Tv in watching movies is cool but like seeing live sports and and live concerts. Unfold in real time is is is great. Have you ever been to like a european soccer match. I had now probably world. Cup is probably topped the bucket list so being a hockey guy would would you rather be at like a world cup event or i don't know like a. You can watch a like a russian hockey league game live. What what are you doing. Out of those two k. Shelley you gotta. You gotta have your head on a swivel in those k. H. chill games. i've seen. I've seen some videos some scraps in the crowd. I don't know i don't know I think that the f one race was really cool. I feel like that's very like european You know style event But yeah there was like a hundred thousand people. There are just like the sounds of the cars and the sounds of the crowds was was really interesting and very unique and something that i hold on hold on attending another one pretty soon. I'm gonna leave you with this. This last has been really hard for all of us like the you know with the with the pandemic. And you know you're you're working from home and remotely and you know your overall touch with humanities not the same as it was just say two years ago but when you think of this past year what do you think you've learned the most about in regards to yourself. I mean i guess you know taking a step back and you know all life kinda slow down a little bit And then just reassessing. You know what your priorities are and what you want to do and how you go about achieving that you know through the pandemic and getting geared up for the appeal last summer now getting you know close to training camp this summer. I think you know you're you're more Need personally a more prioritizing. How i spend my time and and you know what i'm doing on the weekends and and how i'm taking care of my body and stuff like that so You know not all negatives came out of this this past year thing. I think it's been good to take a step back in and reflect on you know what's worked and what needs to change if you know i want to continue playing at at at such a high level but Yanni in you know being home quarantine with my brothers Was was pretty cool win and konak going back to our early days competing with each other. "There's obviously only one ball and having everyone by in two two team Where we can be successful And ultimately risha goal of winning a championship. And you know whatever. I have to do if i have to be off ball player if i have to carry the ball more You know. I think that's just something where we as a collective group had by in And you know just sacrifice or be willing to put in more work to to achieve that goal because we've been close. We lost in the championship. That first down in philly and then we lost in the semi is to the website again So we feel that we're super close. It's just you know putting everything together you know when it counts. How important is it for you to make a run a team. Usa is important. I mean i think that would be great. it's definitely a few years away. I was pretty close You know in two thousand eighteen hours. Basically the last guy cut So our taste my mouth You know washing those guys win a championship. Knowing how close i was and and just knowing that i could have been there and been a part of that group which was Such a special group you know. I don't know the trials. Were i guess in two years from now but i'm gonna stay ready and and you know hopefully the asked to try out again but You know obviously that's something all across players dream about is representing team. Usa winning a gold. Also stuff in the back of my mind and Something that. I think about daily when i tran. You know i look at your game and your experience with with hockey in the back round. You know in terms of your your journey and your ability to to play physical and how craft are you. You are with the stick. Like i think if you could have been like an incredible indoor player. Why didn't you make a legit run it at plane indoor I mean i think there is. There's a lot of things and i think it was just body maintenance After my four years at notre dame i was pretty beat up in i. i did get drafted by georgia. And kinda just you know. Took a step back from lacrosse. super competitively. After that for summer winning with the outlaws I just. I just needed a break. And then you know never really ventured back to playing indoor Maybe it's something that i wish i had done. But you know it's not you know it's not something where you on beating myself about not being able to play the indoor. You know you've been able to influence a lot of younger kids when they watch you play. There's kids that wanna play like matt cavenaugh that you've also been involved from a business perspective with with the lacrosse industry. Tell me about that. Traveling across company. You founded with bryan adams and nikko sela clinics sports and you know we were doing a little bit of here and there are clinics You know and you know traveling lifestyle. It's it's always cool You know seeing new places we we decided to you know tie that end to to across And you know just spreading the game in planning more flags and growing some non traditional hotbed areas and and making it. You know pretty affordable for those Communities i felt was important. And we're continuing to do it Britain necker out in oregon right now. on a tour of their in their in portland This weekend but you know. It's i think it's important to grow the game outside of the nontraditional hotbed areas in and make lacrosse accessible. You know to to those kids that wanna play in and watch it But don't have the coaching Necessary to improve their game and not only..

"Well that's why you're like a psycho competitor and a good way. That's what makes you you. I look at the success of notre dame and it's it's unbelievable especially the last couple of decades it's been you know at the national level. But they're still that missing piece like why don't you think notre dame's won a national championship. I don't know sometimes it's bounces. Sometimes you run into a hot team. my four years there. We lost the eventual national champion. All four years. So you know just being unlucky was do my freshman year In the quarters duke in the finals my sophomore year denver in the final four and then. Unc got us in the quarter so You know all four years. It's like you look back in here any say while we could have won that year we had one this year You know more recent years. I don't know. I don't know i wasn't really to involve you know with the day to day of the team But i feel like you know the culture is air. The leadership is there From the coaches now to win But i mean you gotta hope one of these days that that they finally pull through on memorial day so this year you know i look at their team and i i look at the pieces i just feel like there's so athletic in the middle of the field. They have to face off guys who can be as good as anyone even when they're not they find ways to get possessions. I look back the regular season game. The first time they played duke. And you know they. They lose seventy three percent of the fe sauce but they caused twenty two turnovers and your brother at attack is been playing amazing and the defense is the defense like they have pieces. Certainly to win it. I actually think like they're the outlier of all these teams. Because they have an offense but everyone has an offense but notre dame also has that defense that could buckled down in. Make stop where you know. Times those other teams. That are a little bit more inconsistent. But i want to. I want to talk about you now. Being back in the program because brother pats. They're a game day. What is game day like for you when you watch him play in the rest of the irish I mean just kind of trying to relax in just watching and let the game you know developed like obviously having no control. It's very nerve. Wracking pat now having a lot of success. It's like all right. Just hope that he stays healthy in doesn't get his head taken off too many times but you know watching some of these acc games. It's so competitive in teams are so good. It's you know you're you're don washing the game and it's it's like you just had like a workout or you just played nuts. I couldn't imagine what my dad was gone through watching nin and brennan play at hofstra. It's like i don't know. I don't know how he does it but but yeah it's it's really fun and seeing pat and his success now Translating so well and him kind of taking on more leadership role in the second year. It's really cool to see and You know whatever happens during games like it's just fun competitive stuff and just you know really thankful that i that i get to watch one of my.

"Shooting You know all around game ride ground balls everything and you know. I'm very competitive guy and always wanna win And i do whatever it took. You know to win an that sacrifice my body go onto the net taking head. Whatever it was. I was ready to do itself just being super competitive and wanting to excel That extra your gave me that time to assess my game and and really work on on things. I needed to improve. That which you know ultimately led to some success that spring. I don't know if you remember this. But before you even arrived to notre dame like prior to that season. I i actually saw you play in high school and i saw what you were doing in that prep year and then leading up to the usa team and playing with that team in dominating like i knew you were going to be to be great. I actually said it like before you even started playing at notre dame. I was telling some people like wait till this gets on on the field. They haven't had an attack him but for a player. You still need like validation. What was your validation where you felt like okay. I belong here. I can be a dominant player right away for noting the first week surfers days of practice when i scored a couple of goals on john camp who is a i i was. I was scorned him. In weird ways in ways that i had never scored before so i think everything was just going in. You know from the first day of practice building confidence in you know practicing as a freshman against notre dame defense not easy easiest thing So you know showing that i can play at and dodge against guys like matt miller and steve o'hara Who are first team. All american caliber players. First couple days of practice just gave the confidence going forward. Even though i did have some success with the nineteen and previously in highschool. It's obviously going to college..

"Currently the coach at harvard and coach you for your four years at notre dame and i know you guys have a unique relationship and he mentioned to me like shamanov being one of those places that had such a profound impact on his life so outside of the sports like how did that moment in time and in that experience at shamanov the four years there change you not not sport related. I mean you. You're going to school with you know when you when you go there. I went to school with a couple of my best friends from rockville centre and then ended up meeting a bunch of guys from all over the island. So you you get to know different people from all over the place And form those relationships in an shamanov is tough a that. Academics are super challenging. And it's it's not a cake walk on you really have to earn it Competitively in the classroom and A. n. on the fields athletically too so You know obviously challenging yourself to to be the best With a with a crop of kids from all over the island it you're kind of stacking yourself up against against kids academically and athletically and want to be the best sell Shot has always been a place of of course excellence both in the classroom and on the athletic fields So you know just always want to be the best. I guess which is was is auto there. Yeah for sure now. I think back to like my high school days. Look i hope. No one from your towns listening but like it wasn't very challenging. I'm not like some genius by any stretch. But you can skate by and and you know and do the minimum. Get your homework done on the bus. do it. during your free periods. Like i've heard stories about shamanov like what could be a typical night of homework there. I mean i guess our reading but if you really wanna know what traumas is about like the your finals are fifty percent of your final grade. So yeah Yeah man talk about putting heat on young kids if you fail your final is. You're you're toast. So i'm not gonna say that was the reason i had two year a probably probably a little bit so you went. You went to hotchkiss right that. Yep yeah why did you do a pg year. So i was committed to notre dame and then my junior year You know kind of had a hiccup in in a class and just gone through the initiative process That june coach corrigan. You know said it would probably be you know a lot smoother transition into Getting accepted if i did next year and kind of boosted the grades up a little bit but you know looking back on it. Maybe it was academically. Where i had to improve but it was also athletically where you know going from shawmut where there's twenty commits on the team to two hotchkiss where you know. You're the guy on the team. I think that was where like a kind of switch Went off my head has like kind of being a ball dominant. You know reliable player as opposed to just being one of the guys at shawmut where there's so much talent think. That's a great point. Because i look at some of these schools whether it's the shaman odds of the.

"Yeah one of the best in him being my mentor at such a young age. When you know you're learning how to play He was the coach of our team. So you know some pretty pretty good minds kinda influencing influencing early on in my in my playing days of influencing you being one of six like your mom and dad are troopers and obviously they molded you guys to be tough and competitive but like outside of that. What's been the biggest influence you think they've had that lives in all six of you know. I mean just consistently being there for us You know kind of sacrificing their their work in their you know social life You know obviously having six kids is a huge commitment. And i kinda trace it back to my dad just always someone either. My mom or dad was always there for for us and that's kinda rubbed off on us As as you know their children and my siblings just like always being supportive You know we have. We basically have a team like roster That we that we hang a playground at back backyard but You know a personal story like which you know kinda kinda showed through with my dad being so supportive in being there for us You know one of the most middays. My childhood was nine eleven. He lost to really good close buddies of his And then our town got was was greatly affected by about thirty people. Arm from from our town died and that left a lot of kids my age without parents and he kinda took that in made sure that you would be there for us and kind of help out the kids. You know who who lost those parents. is actually named after christopher panel tr. Our next door neighbor in stephen tie who is another close by my dad's so As you know seeing that and seeing how life can be taken at at any given moment he he made it. He made it a. You know a fact that he would be there for us and push us along the way and be a really good supportive role model. It's amazing stuff so you have one sister. It's colleen right yup and where does she fit and all. This bs agreed younger than me. She's a great younger than you so these she's smack dab in the middle of all the cow. Yeah that's that's what i want to get at like. I think of you five cavenaugh boys in it's just i can. I can see the. I could see the visuals in the back of my head. 'cause that was one of three boys in wages dominated the house trashed everything and it was just a it was honestly moments. I would never wanna change because it was so good and we all learned from just being there from each other but being competitive being toughened sister. Too so i get that and we only had one girl in the house. So how did your mom and your sister colleen like balanced that madness. Yeah i mean she..

"But you know you kind of see it with those guys and then try to hang out with brendan and doing his stuff. And then brennan's connor pushing them away but you know it's cool being a little bit older than them and You know we have a big family. So everyone's super close and super tight. But i think it's a pretty cool dynamic and something that's obviously benefited all of us. So kevin's older. And you guys share the bond of hockey together and you the first cavenaugh boy to really get into lacrosse. So take me back to those days on long island as a kid like when you first were introduced to lacrosse like what were those experiences like ria own so we were always just playing sports. You know no matter the season hockey in the winter I grew up playing little league. Baseball I played soccer In the fall. was never much of a hoops player but little vertically challenged maybe you never never played football You know so. They contact sport hockey and that was basically at growing up. Our dad would take us. You know all over the place. We grew up playing for the goals on long island and then as we got older. We played junior hockey in long beach. So is pretty close by and convenient But those trips up to you know massachusetts toronto buffalo syracuse. For you know were were fun. but very taxing on us at know younger and just you know growing developmental chip on your shoulder just competitive lies so we were always you know. They do in hockey by by birth year. So cummings ninety ninety two so we were always just like super close Playing lines but time that into lacrosse. Who has never really like. Hey let's put a stick in your hand. It was just something to do in town. I grew up in a town on long island. Where you know. Pretty good lacrosse In in the town But i got actually introduced to the game my free. The i stick that i ever saw was at He was a former buddy of mine. I haven't really stayed in touch with them. Taylor right son of coach. Jay wright villanova Bass who was the head coach at hofstra at the time and taylor was in in my class. It's ama- solemn. Entry school in rockville centre. And i guess. They moved down to to philly when he got hired villanova when we in like third fourth grade. So haven't really seen him. Since then. But i remember seeing it in his garage. It was. I think it was like a girl sticker. Something seeing was. I didn't know what it was. It had leathers in it So pretty unconventional looking stick but Now is in like frawley you kindergarten first grade and then another buddy of mine. Mike stars zsa. His uncle is dom starter. And then you know growing up. We went to all those. Uva lacks camps in the bunk cabins in the woods. I forgot that it's called Never got the look from dom recruiting but I i hold that over his head You should he missed on you man. He missed on you. But yeah i mean there is you know john d. Jeff rate is known for making hilarious online video sketches where he plays all the characters ben. Jeff hello go Jeff you make all these amazing videos on tiktok and instagram i. I don't know how many you've made over the years. I don't know if you keep track i. I've made a lot of videos and a lot of bad videos. Only post the good stuff. Only really. there's there is a a pile a pile of all. That's the real talent. I think knowing what not to post the talent. That's a good point Better that way before you entered obviously the writing for late nine. You're you're creating tons of content still in videos that you were in school. You're majored in neuroscience. Yeah yeah that's yeah. I i did like doing the research and but i found research to be really slow ultimately in a lab. And you're like asking one very very specific question that take several years to get a possible. Answer yeah in addition to having a background in science you also act. Including what am i ve favorite films because i found it. So chilling joker. Yeah favorite experience. Why was it your favorite. I felt like working on that. I was just learning a lot very very quickly. Like for instance. I wasn't supposed to be doing the stunt where i got killed spoiler alert. There was supposed to be a stunt double who got shot and falls and like it is falling on the concrete and crawling and blah. 'cause that's technically stunt. The stunt double shows up to set and he's wearing a different suit than i am and i think technically like you know they didn't know how they would. Maybe they would have to delay day or something like that That's huge amounts of money and inconvenience like you ruin the suits work. There was like a custom sued so it wasn't like they could just like men's warehouse. I was like i can do. This can fall and you know. Do the stunt. I was a child gymnast. Like i know how to do that stuff. Okay yeah i can feel. I just tested this day. I can still do it. Yeah okay then we just try doing. I'm running away from joaquin. And he's firing a gun at me. And i'm like they decided on the day of the like maybe you've already been shot in the like but once and what does that look like. I haven't liked prepped. Running with a bullet in my. But let's try try it and then after after walking comes in like empties the gun into the back of me and runs up the stairs and jed quiet. They'll be they'd yell cut. And then i'd get up and then me and todd and joaquin would go watch playback and be like we'll how did that look that look right. I don't think that's how you'd run if you had a bullet and you're like no i do. That's exactly how it is. And i and i was just felt like i was learning so lightning vast ultimately at the end of it. I felt like it really paid off. And like after i wrapped walking pulled me aside and said some really nice things to me. That was very encouraging awesome. He said hey man. I like the way you like it. I would like to offer you ten thousand dollars to shoot you for real sometime. All right we have a couple of great games for you. Are you ready. Ready to dive into some games. Jack ass excellent so. This first game is called real or fake hallmark original movie. We'll describe the plot of a made for tv hallmark original movie. And you just tell us if it's a real movie that actually exists or a fake one that we just made up all right. Jeff chasing leprechauns won. An american company. Wants to build a smelting plant outside as small. Irish village troubleshooter michael. Garrett is dispatched to help. He soon learns. The Last Four Years, The Last Five Decades (with Rebecca Traister)

"Idea for a future radio story. Today, is January twentieth. Two Thousand Sixteen. Donald Trump was just inaugurated. That was me four years ago I wanted to capture my fears and concerns about trump's presidency. So I hopped in the recording studio my old job recorded a little audio time capsule. I've kept this file on my computer for four years. Didn't listen to it until recently. So many people in this country are so excited about trump. Is can't believe I could disagree with this many people. Innocent innocent extremely privileged belief. But I guess that's why I wanted to ask you avery of the future. You who have lived through one term of. The trump presidency. So weird just a few questions. So I recorded fifteen minutes of questions about the state of the country for my future self, which is to say me. Currently. To answer did he build a wall around Mexico or did he try Oh man I mean yeah. He's still trying like actively according to customs and Border Protection, there's been three hundred, seventy, one miles of new wall completed but there's still a lot more to go. So we'll see is marijuana legal. Depends on the state you live in, but it's fully legal in eleven of them. So yeah. Yes or no Legal. Well, no. It could be. There were a bunch of other questions that I won't bore you with because I. Realize I can't actually answer most of the questions from my past self. Like they're all kind of complicated and still in process and it turns out a lot of the rights I was worrying about four years ago are still very much under threat now. Including the issue that I was most frightened about. On Donald Trump's inauguration day. The very first question I asked to my future self. Was this one. Are Abortions illegal. Did HE DE-FUND PLANNED PARENTHOOD? Of course I, know abortions are still legal for now the law of the land upholds Roe v Wade. Although I'm not sure I really understood how complicated the answer to this question actually was. And is especially now that trump has appointed three supreme court justices. So I want to start asking you that big question. Are Abortions illegal. Well, yeah. They are legal right now for some people, they have been inaccessible to millions more preceding trump's inauguration. Rebecca Tracer is a writer at large for New York magazine and the cut. So where we are right now is that we're closer to abortions being illegal than we've been in my life time nominated by President Reagan and serving thirty years on the court. He was often the crucial swing vote you know Anthony Kennedy's retirement breath Kavanagh's confirmation, and here today not because I want to be. Terrified riding completely over the testimony of Christine Lousy Ford I. Do not believe that these charges can barely per bed judge cabin from serving on the court Susan Collins vote for breakfast all these things on a court. level. were sort of big publicly covered wakeup calls and there has been women in the streets. Right there have been women and men in the streets there have been people in the streets. Four years into Donald, trump being president the like. The reality of that is hitting a lot of people hard. But one of the ways that we got to this point is that the inaccessibility and the project of making abortion illegal. Didn't hit anybody hard enough. Inaccessibility isn't just recent. It's now it happens now around the country for millions of women for whom enough barriers have been put in place that that role might as well not exist because it actually doesn't serve as a barrier. It doesn't serve as a protection of their right to get the care that they need. So there are states. In the country where the the laws are so prohibitive where there have already been people jailed for abortion.

"Judging Amy"

"Amy Coney Barrett is is talking to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. She's not saying much One thing that's clear from her hearing is that Amy Perez, shifty Amy Kuney Barrett is smart amy. Barrett is smarter than Brett, Kavanagh like of the. Smarter. Than Bread Kavanagh her confirmation hearing significantly less irritating on its face is it's got less screaming in it but do you think that her being? More, pleasant. Than other. Nominee his I'm specifically talking about Brad. Kavanagh, has lulled into a false sense of complacency. No, I don't think. So I really don't I think that we all probably learn a little bit more because we listen because we're not being shouted out about shouted out about making beer and squeeze in some calendars. You know I, think that we in some ways. I can't tell you a ton. From my memory of like policy questions that Brett Cavanaugh answered right like we were really put off by his temperament and everything sort of fell from there. But with her I think that senators have asked very good questions of her I think she hasn't answered most of them I, that that tells us a lot you know. I. Think especially because she is you know for someone who says that? It's my job to not forecast or say how I would vote if I were on the Supreme Court but you know she tells us that she has told us a lot. She's a very Christian she's pro-life and she brings her kids everywhere and I say this because she's a woman but I don't understand why people bring their small children to confirmation hearings it no sense. Have you seen? Pictures from Antonin Scalia is confirmation hearing He brought his entire big family. There's something to me read like sort of hat tip to her mentor Antonin Scalia who she clerked for Oh interests during okay I. did not know that during his hearing. He had like I. Think he has nine kids or something like that, and they all were sitting there in the chambers and he was. Confirmed during a time where things were a lot less contentious I mean bork already happened but he was things were a lot less contentious when he was confirmed and so there was a lot of like it. It's super weird to revisit that now because there was a lot of like people on the committee complimenting his big family and it was it was very, very strange but I think one thing that you know her family life is pretty irrelevant to. Her capacity as as a judge and her being a nice lady doesn't really have anything to do with her capacity as a judge what I was disturbed by that like. These hearings always to me seem just like an exercise and gas lighting. We know what she thinks about Roe v Wade we know what she thinks about it it is. We know and so she spends. Days pretending that we don't know and that her views are somehow something that she's going to rule on without input from her like she signed onto a letter that was written on behalf of a group that believes in vitro fertilization is manslaughter. Anyone asked her about that I didn't not yet. Did they somebody did on Tuesday they asked her if she felt like that and she said that she just signed the letter her way out of church or something I. Did hear that part that's fucking nuts i. just I hate how were being gasoline here I I it here's my question for you. Do you think because you know there are a lot of people who think that Democrats should have boycotted the hearing to show what a sham it was. I don't know how I feel about that. What do you think? I don't know I feel like the the right thing to do is. I think the platonic ideal of a member of the Senate Judiciary for this has been amy, Klobuchar Amy Klobuchar who the good aiming the good amy as you know as as she was running for president, she wasn't somebody that I whose candidacy I was enthusiastic about She's somebody who falls to the right of me on many issues. But as a member of this committee, she's done a really good job of asking pointed questions that seemed to have simple answers but that Amy Coney Barrett the bad, amy. Has Been Dodging.

Charlie Kirk: Coronavirus stimulus

"And you have Schumer Pelosi. In Biden one hundred twenty five years, Charlie Kirk of failure, unmitigated failure, swap failure and I. Think of my kids. You met my son. He's twenty one years old. My daughter's eighteen and I would think about your America their America and when I say you know, live free or die, American, the world on the brink I'm not joking. And very specifically will be probably the biggest choice election by far in my lifetime, and maybe since eighteen sixty, and there's a lot at stake We can go through the issues if you want, but it's. It's there's there's not one issue we agree on that. I can think of for the most part yet, and you wrote this, and it just really sent chills down my spine. You wrote this book to sound an alarm as a warning. Warning to my fellow patriots about the left's undying commitment turn America into a land, our parents, founders and framers wouldn't recognize it. It's perfectly put, and that's the direction that they're headed on page twenty seven. You have a great part about how Ben Franklin says we ever republic. If you can keep it, can you talk more about how this truly is? A referendum election in some sense and the left is trying to do to our country. Well the the story about Franklin's interesting, because it's, it's the constitutional convention and somebody says he comes out one days, says, is it a monarchy republic republic? If you can keep it Reagan, I quote him off. When I give speeches, said Freedom Charlie and you know this is but one generation away from extinction. And you know when if you want understand if socialism is adopted if their stated goal is adopted America as we know, it then becomes unrecognizable look, I can understand psychologically. There's a component of maybe people that that have been indoctrinated in schools, and you're great at this because you're going in to hostile environments every day, and you're saying you know what there's another way of thinking here, so maybe the idea that people think Charlie that some things are oh, everything's going to be free and they're gonNA forgive my loans at I'll have a guaranteed government job guaranteed government food. How did obamacare workout now? We're GONNA have Medicare for all or or double down on the stupidity of Obamacare and guaranteed retirement. Guaranteed vacation sounds great. But simple math shows you that you'll never get there. And that's why in the Fourth Chapter of the book did this whole history of socialism which is a history of failure? The point is look at the issues. If if we're talking about law and order. They've cited in Portland in Seattle and new. York and Chicago with the radicals. Joe Biden his yet that I know of said one good thing about the ninety nine percent of cops protect and serve and put their lives on the line for us every day. You're right. Okay, so law and order taxes. He's pledging to raise your taxes through the roof. That will destroy the economy Then they're gonNA just add all the bureaucracy. The Donald Trump spent almost four years. Eliminating that'll be gone. That means nobody's GONNA WANNA DO Business. That's why the Biden Obama economy was so bad. Then you look at where now energy independent for the first time in seventy five years with a number, one producer of energy in the world will lose that for sure We'll shut down coal fracking. Oil Gas exploration production those tens of millions of jobs high paying jobs career jobs for people. Then it's about amnesty. Or the United Sanctuary states of America versus Border Security and law and order of never mind foreign policy. We haven't even touched that part yet, so. There's a lot at stake. If those plans stated plans are implemented. America will go down the past you know. The Trash bin of history as Reagan, said Freedom One generation away from extinction we will. It I shudder to think what will happen the three you and your children by kids, and and maybe one day grandkids. ARE READY FOR THAT And I love the framing, because as the founder said either we're GonNa live free and defendant right now, or we're gonNA. Have a country that you know. We don't WanNa live it, and that's really the framing. That is so important right now, and you talk about and I'm really pleased about this. Shawn because I think we have forgotten about the Russia hoax too quickly in. In the conservative movement, you have been the leader on this every night. You were covering it. You didn't let us forget you help. Muller Accountable, you had investigative journalism and it just seemed that an Oxana names, but other conservatives just kind of drifted away from like Oh. That's what happened happened. You have two chapters on this in the book. Can you talk about that? Yeah I mean I call it Charlie, the the biggest corruption abuse of power scandal in history and the Ukraine was oh. Okay, we failed with Muller after three years. We won't. We won't even bother with a special prosecutor not to I'm going backwards here but to get to Ukraine. You? Know they're talking about quid pro quos, but you have to ignore their presidential candidate on video saying you're not getting a billion US tax payer dollars unless you're fire. That prosecutor is named Shokhin. WHO's investigating my son Hunter who went on a and said? Do you have any experience in oil? No Gas, no energy, nope, any experience in Ukraine. Nope, why are you being paid millions? No, because you dad, so there was a quid pro quo and millions of dollars for the Biden I call crime family. That's exactly right, so. Listen and China's even worse. You get to this whole thing what we now know and I believe what's coming. It's like, and this is where the media's corrupt because. They're just the propaganda wing of all things democratic. Socialist. We now know and have all the evidence that we'd ever need is that they protected their favorite candidate. Hillary Clinton. For things you and I and everybody you know that follows you and you have a massive audience would. Literally never get away with. If you had subpoenaed emails Charlie Kirk and you decided to delete them, and you decided to acid. Wash your hard drive with something. I had never heard about bleeped bleach bit and bust up your devices with hammers. You'd go to jail. If you violated the espionage act, you'd go to jail. They protected her. Then the narrative began we now know began in August. We know crossfire hurricane representatives actually went to brief. President Trump General Flynn. Flynn on national security, but they were there to try and get information on trump and Russia, the most amazing part of this, because the Democrats and the media live for all these years is that they knew and they said and they wrote, and they even testified. There was never any evidence, but there was a dirty Russian dossier. And now we know even the New York Times acknowledged full full of Russian disinformation and that was used. And they were warned not to use it, but high ranking people abusing their power, wanting to take out candidate, trump, transition, team, trump, and then deep into the Presidency Donald Trump. They use the dirty Russian misinformation dossier to ruin Carter pages life and roomed his civil liberties and constitutional rights, but more importantly to spy on candidate trump, and then they had their insurance policy. The fact that the mob in the media ignores it is beyond comprehension. I have so I have two chapters. One is on the Russia hoax, and the other is on this whole impeachment witch hunt. And I want everybody in your audience to understand one thing here if I can get one point across. Yeah, they hate Donald Trump, but they hate us more. They think we are as Peter. Struck, said the smell by the way I probably shop at Walmart say money. Why not you have a woman I love Walmart I love COSCO's. I Love I love it all. And I've shopped there my whole life I mean people always stopped me when I'm in a grocery? So, what are you doing here? Shopping? Wa I like to eat a cracks me up. So but think about that. smelly Walmart Shoppers while irredeemable deplorables, wow! Bitter Americans as Obama said that WANNA cling to their God. I'm guilty their Second Amendment Rights Guilty Bibles and religion I'm guilty of that, too. But. It's contempt for your audience. It's contemporary my audience. It's because they knew better. And they will ling. This was an attempted coup. Now do I think there's going to be arrests and prosecutions I? Do spend much slower than any of us would have liked, but the evidence is overwhelming. It's incontrovertible sad actually that this could happen. That was going to be my follow up. Question Sean because when I travel and we get thousands of e mails a on this topic. When are people going to go to jail? And can you give me insight on this? Can you give us any clues any crumbs that we're starting to see from Durham? It's I call them. It's funny. You say crumbs because call them the the Attorney General Bar breadcrumbs. It's like Hansel and Gretel. Remember. We're we're trying to follow and see the trail exactly yeah. He did say that the president was spied on. It did happen illegally. The. Think about this. If you go before Judge Judy I wouldn't WANNA lot because Judge Judy I. I've met her once she'll eviscerate. You I watched her show. You. Don't go before a court. The information that you have not verified. It actually said at the top of a FISO Warren Charlie. It says verified. Okay. We now know the dossier was unverifiable. The sub source we now know, said this this bar talk. We were making this up. This was never meant for anything and again Hillary paid for it funneled money separate issue. And so, what is going to happen I don't have a crystal ball but I. do know all of the facts that are in the public. Are Enough to indict many of the names that your audience is most familiar with. I would argue. Komi McCabe struck page. I'd like to know a clapper. Brennan's role in all of this ends up being and and others. The more fascinating deep question is. Will they get to that January fifth twenty seventeen meeting inside the Oval Office? This is when member Biden said George Stephanopoulos Oh I. Don't know. Anything about this, you know this whole impeachment Russia thing. He was the one same. Bring up the Logan Act fifteen days later Susan Rice in that meeting did the Cya memo the day that Donald Trump was inaugurated. Obama in that meeting shot Sally Age by saying a He. He knew everything about the Kislyak Michael Flynn call. If we look. To sum it up. I think we're GONNA get there because the evidence. Is that overwhelming? If we don't. I fear for the country? Because of you. GonNa Raid Manafort's home predawn raid and you're going to raid Roger Stone's home. For lying to Congress by the all many of the names I mentioned were referred for the same crime and you're gonNA. Pull it twenty nine guys in tactical gear, frogmen and tip off CNN cameras and. Have a biased jury for person. We won't have equal justice and equal application of our laws, and worse than that Charlie is. We lose our constitution. Yes, all our laws are are predicated on next great document and some `perfect, but it creates the path to perfection at a more perfect union so. Long answers. I'M GONNA talk. Show I love it. No, this is what our audience needs to hear, and and thank you for that and look I I completely agree because if we do not have people and I, say this as carefully as I can in handcuffs for what they did Donald Trump then I I will lose faith in the American justice system I. Don't want that and I don't want revenge I don't retribution I want people to be held accountable and I would want the same if someone did this to Barack Obama because it should never happen to a leader ever. Yes. and. They've gone after every single trump friend confidant, and yet if you oppose Donald Trump you get different treatment, talk a lot about the constitution in your book and the founding of our country, Sean going to be honest, I've been very let down by some of these supreme. Court decisions lately Can you comment on that and the importance to get more people like Kavanagh? Who's actually ruled brilliantly? Unlike John Roberts. I! I'm a little. I don't know what's happening. Roberts I have my theory I guess I have my sources people that. have their own ideas based on some knowledge? For whatever reason and I think this goes back to the obamacare decision. He has allowed. How the court appears to influence his decision making. I also sense with no evidence whatsoever. You're not a big fan of president trump, but that should not come into his thinking. Now. If getting rid of bureaucracy and lowering taxes and energy, independence, and securing our borders, and law and order are all part of this election. Let me tell you another big part of it. And it's you know we're taping this ninety. Whatever days away from the Election Day, I what about and we got asked. What about the Supreme Court? Yes, I go through a whole list I. Forget what paid maybe sixty seven I forget. A. In the book. Of. All the things Democrats would do if they're getting power one, is they? WanNa, stack the courts. Get rid of the Electoral College. And I. What, they're saying they. WanNa do is scary. They used to hide it Charlie. When I every single Liberal Democrat running for office, they would run to the left in the primary. They race back to the center, but you knew they wanted the left. There now openly embracing the most radical elements in the country and you know. Unfortunately we're watching it all. Play out nightly on TV and and that sad what I see happening when I think we have to remind a trump supporters that these are not trump appointed justices, a gorsuch I think ruled incorrectly on one ruling. That's it besides that gorsuch and cavenaugh have been tremendous and terrific verses Roberts. I just think we have to give the audience a sense. Sense of continued conviction that the trump appointed justices will continue to rule correctly and Clarence. Thomas and you know the the Thomas Family. They get no credit at all. I mean what he has done. And can you comment on that? 'cause I, E, you've actually been you open my eyes to that like eight years ago and I never learned about Clarence Thomas as a high schooler until you I mentioned it just as a quick aside on his incredible career. I like to do on TV and antidote on radio, too. Sometimes I call it the Hannity history, lesson 'cause I lived through all of this. I know this is going to see. You're not even thirty three, but my radio journey started in nineteen eighty-seven crazy right. Now on my twenty fifth year of Fox, I didn't think I last two. So I feel very blessed. As a side note if you haven't read my grandfather's son. Which is about Clarence Thomas is life. It's amazing. But. You know it's interesting because him and Scalia. To my opinion, my to most favorite justices in my lifetime. Scalia this incredible wit and genius and understanding and. They got a little acerbic side to when when he was questioning Clarence Thomas always set by quietly. What they called a high tech lynching at the time, the more modern. Let it. You gotTA. Remember Yeah. And you know. It was then Senator Ted Kennedy you know Robert Bork's America the borking of America. That was Clarence Thomas. Now we see it more recently cavenaugh. It exposes. The, who is Joe Biden? Who is his team? Because Clarence Thomas and Justice Scalia or the people we need on that court. We call them constitutionalists or originalists, the original intent, not people that would sight foreign law as liberal justices have done or not people that feel that they can rule by judicial Fiat and dictate or legislate from the bench. Democrats always wanted the court to do that which they could never. Do legislatively or win at the ballot box and that's why they want. We call them. Activists Justices Clarence Thomas. has shown a fidelity to the Constitution at the Antony Scalia. That is beyond enviable And the differences styles always interesting, too because Justice Thomas will always be quiet. That's very few questions. Anthony Scalia was in there in a wrestling with people. I don't know about John Roberts. I can't get into it, but I do believe the next president United States is a very good chance. You have a lot of older justices may want to retire. And I think that the next this election in just three short months. That's on the ballot and that's that's generational now. And Sean I think we have to pressure the Biden campaign to do what trump did and release a list of justices I mean president trump was so transparent and Joe Biden hasn't done it yet. Intentionally, of course, because he'll probably put repeated to lieber something on the United States Supreme Court I mean as horrifying as that might be so in two two quick closing question Sean and thank you for being so generous with your time anchorage, everyone you know. Know go by live, free or die. the first is this. Can you just talk about? We are heading into the election. A lot of trump supporters. They're failed. They're falling victim. They suppression pulse I wish that wasn't the case, but it seems like the memory of two thousand sixteen as faded where people forget. We were down by double digits. Can you just give a little vote of confidence to some of our listeners out there? That think we're just losing. I WANNA. Give the vote of confidence, but I want people to feel this way. I want people to think I'll use a football analogy that our mutual friend Linda that you know. Who's your biggest fan? My radio producer? He's amazing. Amazing, but she doesn't even know how many points you get a touchdown, so I'm giving these football analogies. I, want this election. I want people to feel the way I feel which is. We're on our own twenty. Two minutes to go. We have no time outs We're down by six. We got a cross. The plane marched down the field, cross the plane and hit the extra point to win. So if people feel a sense of genuine urgency and worry and concern, I'm cool with that because fear often as a great motivator, not irrational field fear, but if people do not vote, you will get the government that they're telling you. They're going to give you believe. That that is their agenda. To be a Republican and win. You GotTa always use this analogy got to run the table I gotTA. Get Florida Georgia North Carolina can't win without Ohio. No Republican's ever become president without it right? You got hold Iowa then you got pick off Pennsylvania Wisconsin hopefully Michigan maybe MINNEA- Minnesota will be play. Maybe the city of Arizona will be in play. By Joe Biden reference for those of you. That didn't get. We got a hold Arizona Gopher Nevada New Mexico. New Hampshire and Maine's second congressional district. If every single mom, this is a battle cry. You started out this interview with this. I wrote this book not because I like writing books. My last book I donated every Penny I made to charity I don't care. It's not that. This is a tipping point. Charlie this is I, don't. See if these policies are implemented how America recovers. Irreparable harm the to the rule of law to our courts to our economy, they want to wipe out the lifeblood of of the world's economy. This this promise of socialism and I go into such detail about how it's always failed. Here's a quick socialism of example. Member obamacare. Keep your doctor keep your plan. Save on average twenty five hundred dollars a year per family right? Okay. Millions lost their doctors. Millions lost their plans. We're all paying about two hundred percent more and add to that. Forty percent of Americans almost forty percent have only one obamacare Biden Carriage James Choice now. How did they do with that promise? Medicare is going broke. How did they do it? That promised social security. Charlie hate the break this here. He paying into it. You probably won't get it I. Barely Skate through, and they might give me ten cents until they means tested and then take it back, How does it? How did Liberal government work in New York City with all the anarchy cutting a billion dollars, so please? How's IT WORKING IN CHICAGO? All. These liberal cities have where the violence we've been talking about takes place. They all have one thing in common. They've been run by Liberal Democrats for decades right. Most of these states have been run into the ground by Liberal Democrats for decades. If you WANNA know what America will look like if Biden Bolshevik Bernie. Pelosi Schumer and Bozo. That team gets place look at new. York state and city look at Chicago the City Illinois. The State Look at California. Look at Oregon. Look at Portland, the city. Look at Seattle. Look at the state of Washington. Yes. And I. Love this country too much. You know it's an all hands on deck moment and Every everyone of you've got this connection with younger people in this country. You have this incredible. A credible platform you built, and it's become powerful and meaningful and transformative to the country, and you're going out there, and you're fighting on these college campuses and you. You know it's not easy to be in the middle of a I call it a shift. Show all the time, but let's well put, but you do it. And it's freedom works. Every time you give up freedom for security, you lose your freedom because the security that they're offering. These promises that can never ever be fulfilled. In America. The land. I'll close with this unless you want to go further I can keep going the. Barry Farber who was a mentor of mine. Just recently passed away like ninety ninety one. And he always said there's never been a country in the history of mankind that has accumulated more power and abused at less than the United States well I add. A country in the history of mankind that has accumulated more power abused at less, but used it to advanced human condition. The reason America is great and exceptional. If I can say that today, it's not perfect, but it's great. An exceptional is because of its people, and because of the fundamentals of liberty and freedom. So that? Natural rights versus government or rights, natural rights come from God doubt by our Creator. Life Liberty pursuit of happiness while you can't pursue happiness these days in Chicago New York Moreland Seattle. So there's a lot on the line. I love your audience. I'm so thankful for all you're doing, and you've got a great team that you building review and you're out there fighting the fight and I just urge you guys. Just fight like your country depends on it. Because America's, we know it. It's all hanging in the balance. Yet was Sean. You've been so generous the last quick thing I defend the president all the time personally as a person. Can you comment on that because I've had the opportunity to meet him? not as much as you obviously and get to know him, but a lot of people here misrepresentations in lies about who he is as a human being. Let's close on this note. Can you just mention one or two things that that people can take away from that? You know first of all. It's interesting. Nobody seems to understand Donald trump yet. They don't want to understand. I mean Donald Trump. The Dog Bites the beasts, things you feeling sad or get cancer. You Complain Trump. I mean that's how saying the leftist. But here's a guy that is so unique he this guy is like a soon nami force of energy like I've never met my life. The most distinct and unique quality he's had is as president. You mentioned the Supreme Court. He put those people that he said he put. He cut the bureaucracy as he said he'd caught, and he cut the taxes as he said he'd cut. He did the North Dakota. A keystone pipelines Anwar Likey said he would. He's building the wall or almost four hundred miles. A wall by the by election will be over four hundred miles. He found a way it was. It was an uphill climb He said he wanted to pull us out of foreign conflicts, but not back away from evil defeated. The Caliphate took out. Baghdadi and Associates took out Sola Mani took out the Al. Qaeda leader in Yemen. So? What makes him special and unique in terms of presidency is that he is who you see is who you get. The guy that's fights on twitter is the guy that's fighting for a better trade. Deal the guy that fights. Against Liberal Democrats and the media mob is the same guy is fighting to keep his promises that to me makes him the most unique transformative political figure in our lifetime. And Right now. The. We tip the scales. You have a choice. It's never been a bigger choice. He will keep his promises. Coronas been a little bit of a curve ball to the world, but even that ten days after the first case, the only guy that I know of thought about a travel ban will be donald trump. They were teaching at the time and Joe Binder Biden was call them Sinophobic, so he's a man of his word. He's a man that will fight to his last dying breath for this country and the promises he made, and that makes them in my view very transformative. Men will. The Supreme Court case that could transform abortion

"Just this week on the first major abortion case of the trump error the justices are considering a Louisiana law right now requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital the case could reveal how willing the more conservative court is to roll back abortion rights a decision is expected by late June according this morning to Supreme Court reporter for The Washington Post Robert Barnes this case comes from Louisiana which is a state that passes a lot of abortion restrictions more than any other state in the country it's almost identical to a case that this court struck down in twenty sixteen but the court had a different membership then in that case justice Anthony Kennedy joining the liberals to strike that wall down of course Kennedy is now retired he's been joined by two of president trump's nominees Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh how does the questioning by the justices go to this particular case rubble justices made clear that their minds have not been changed by anything that this kind of law is unconstitutional so the two people who seem most now I wouldn't say inclined to join them but the two possibilities to join them would be Chief Justice Roberts and maybe just says Kavanagh both of them ask questions about the twenty sixteen president which indicated that they felt that that the president was still in force and that they had to abide with it but they wondered should you look at this state by state so if this admitting privileges requirement was a problem in Texas does that also mean that had to be considered a problem in Louisiana or do you go state by state as you might imagine the lawyers had different opinions on that and Chief Justice Roberts nor justice Cavanaugh gave their own opinions on what they thought the right answer was yes the justices uphold the Louisiana law what might that mean for other abortion cases down the road well I think it would be a real signal that the court is re re examining its abortion jurisprudence as I say this case was just decided four years ago for the court to come back now and do something different I think would show that the court was very open to restrictions passed by the state's on abortion and that they would receive a much friendlier reception at the

The Mcstay Family Murder: Setting the Scene

"The mcstay family had recently moved into their new house on on a nice cul de sac in fallbrook California Nets. At the time they disappeared. They had relocated from a beachside apartment in San Clemente. Joey and summer next day had been making plans working on home renovations when they stopped responding to texts and phone calls on February Fourth Twenty ten Joseph was forty he owned and operated earth inspired products misses a business at designed installed water fountains. It had been. Joey's dream to be self employed Loyd in order for him to spend as much time as possible with his sons Johnny h four and Joseph Junior h three. Joey's summer was a licensed assist real estate agent. She taken some time off in order to be a stay at home mother. Yeah and to work on the house. 'cause there was a lot of work to be done there. They big cleanser this house. Stay Dead Joey and summer had each been married once before when they met and according to friends they fell in love quickly and they were just crazy about each other and quite happy. So let's go into summer. Joey's history is a bit just to get a better understanding of who they were as people and who they were as a couple before this all happened. So Joey's birth name was Joseph Allen Ashley. His Mother Susan married his biological logical father. Robert Lee right out of high school but the marriage just didn't last very long at all. Susan then met Patrick mcstay. Nineteen in seventy one and Patrick was quite happy to take over his. Joey's father he and Susan married in nineteen seventy two. They were married and and Patrick adopted Joey with Robert. Ashley's permission which I found pretty interesting and with this adoption Joe. His name was legally changed to Joseph. Brian mcstay then in nineteen seventy-three. Joey's brother Michael was born. And Joey was a doting big brother. Who really love to help out with Michael's care but unfortunately Patrick and citizens marriage didn't last long either and they divorced in nineteen seventy five and and they would continue to have some back and forth issues over the years? Although Susan remarried and maintained custody of Joey and Michael the two boys did continue to spend in time with their father Patrick and for a while in his teens joey went to live with his dad in Dallas Texas. So according to Patrick the father he was is very close with Joey. A very good relationship is consistent adopted kid right right Berkeley her very good relationship. Well I mean. He came in pretty early in. Joey's life so there wasn't a lot of you know arguing back and forth about anything not a lot of that. You're not my real father stuff through now. Joey met his first wife Heather in nineteen ninety and they got married in nineteen ninety two in nineteen ninety six. They had a son now. Al Joanne Heather lift in San Clemente near the beach. Had his father's pretty wealthy Yona jewelry store in Laguna beach but he really likes Joey and he helped give his daughter just an absolutely beautiful wedding and before he met and married Heather Joe. It had several jobs he worked as a waiter and bartender. He also started his own small business designing and selling products now later. He began designing small waterfalls and fountains in his garage. He borrowed a little bit of money from his father opened a shop which he called Naturally Dana Point and by late nineteen ninety six was quite successful. He had made over two hundred thousand dollars in sales then he brought his brother Michael and open naturally DP fountains with the least warehouse for the production. So he's starting to move up a little bit here. Yes very hard worker very motivated. But Heather enjoys marriage. Rich fell apart and he found out that heather was having an affair and she had become pregnant by her lover but still he kind of blamed himself at least in part are because he'd been working a lot so he wasn't spending much time with her. He tried to work things out even told heather that he would happily raise the new baby as his own But it was too late. Heather was already in love with this other guy and she decided on a divorce but apparently this was devastating to joey. He was still in love with heather so he was pretty heartbroken and depressed any moved in with his mom and according to her he went through months and months of depression. He and his brother Michael continued to run the fountain business though and eventually they got together with a computer expert named Dan. Kavanagh Dan and help them build a website so they could begin doing their business as earth inspired products online so people could go online and order fountains so this is really opened up things for them then. Joey did meet summer. That was in two thousand four. They were introduced by. Joey's friend who was named macgyver. So I don't remember. He had enough his parents liked the TV show. It's a strange name choices in it or yeah so summer was just breaking up with her longtime boyfriend. Vic and Joey and summer's relationship moved fast but she was worried about how vic was going to react to her being with someone a new so soon she didn't own a house with vic and had to go through the legalities of getting her name off of the property in the mortgage and getting some money out of that so summer was a bit eccentric and she had been known by more than one name so this would end up causing a lot of speculation after the family's family's disappearance like what was going on with her. She was born Virginia Lisa Aranda and had also been known as SUMMER MARTELLI SUMMER ARANDA RANDOM MARTELLI LISA Aranda and Lisa Martelli Summers mom raised her and her two siblings on her own as a single mom in both California and Chicago and according to summer's mother Martelli was the surname of Summers Stepdad. Now another thing that summer did that would lead some people to question things was that she was also known to have taken some years off her age when speaking to people. But there's no evidence that she used this new birth date on any legal documents family members including her sister. Heavens suggested that her name changes were just her own preference and it wasn't anything anything to avoid any legal entanglements. She was just the kind of person who wanted to make up her own name. She went to live in California and be named summer and she did did. She did it so summer gave birth to Joey's first son Johnny in two thousand five and in less than two years later Joseph Junior was born a summer had an aversion to hospitals and both boys were delivered at home shortly after Joseph. Juniors born Joe in summer got married and this is a small ceremony in Orange County. The summer side of the family didn't attend. She didn't seem very close to family. And this worry. Joey's mother so the night before the wedding summer had called her family s and not to come to the wedding and stole his mom. Susan was never quite sure awesome redundant no but it seems like. Joey knew why he wasn't questioning it. So you know there were issues but what family doesn't have issues really. Were your those issues. His issues right and these were a little extraordinary. I guess but who knows what was going on and it was a small second marriage. So maybe it wasn't a big deal. Having family. There is a bigger deal to some people than others where I would put that as a priority. I'd like they're where my family at my wedding. Of course right. Yeah but not all. My family came to my wedding. We'll important one stood. Oh okay well. According to a lot of people though summer was very jealous of Joe his first wife Joey and heather shared custody of their son Jona. Joey's friends friends and family said that summer was very caring Jona even though she wasn't always thrilled with heather. Summer did complained to her sister. Tracy that heather would barge barge into their house regularly. You know even walking in when Joey's in the shower kind of weird and she would drop off Jona without calling ahead and just kind of expect. Expect summer to Babysit so summer was trying to get along and she put up with it at first but eventually she told Joey that she was going to have to break up and leave if he didn't set some boundaries with the ex wife now to me that seems totally reasonable for those to me too yeah. I'm not just a working or drop off daycare right. No Yeah and you're not married to him anymore. So what are you walking into the House for is if you live here. Durham my house. Yeah Komo Yard. That's right so I totally get that. I mean it's territorial thing if nothing else plus. It's disrespectful very disrespectful. To summer summer and to summer and Joey's relationship maybe not the best thing for Jona to see either possibly not

Those interviews came as we mentioned earlier. Would Oscar you know. There's a lot of talk. There's a lot of people nitpicking here and there and I am asking you to great job. I'm sure like your first time interview. CONOR McGregor straight after a training session in front of all training earners is a is a an awkward position to be put in an awesome. Yeah Oscar Mayer and he didn't seem awkward booed 'em or did no it was declared that areolas border with them we connor and he's sitting down. He seems we use an old air. Does he seems like that. That's the calm cool. The little joke about the flu like that stood out to me a million dollars like I was going to mention not to because he goes on of h you know ought to respect for him his family his grandmother and then has fuck dig in there. And that's why we're going to see something turned turn. It makes you feel like you know it. Is there still. And you know the fact that he's joking. He's nearly like he can't believe that arial even suggested he could lose the like it's not even like he's planned this is like Oh my God are you serious. Yeah but that's what we need to see yet. But this is what you're saying you're saying he should have come out unexplained to be bluish change on Tom Toys and fury faces. Portal's Ain't it wasn't just the toys and fury came out in one of he went on a press tour telling everybody how would you change. Explains in ways changed expanding of all the things he does at to help himself to how. It's still a struggle. Here we still working on it. I think that was the one key component. We're missing here instead. Headed ahead of this void after everything that's happened. I tink based on that little clip when I'm looking at their I'd say it was one of those conversations with everywhere if he puts all his cards on the table here which I expect not doors and I feel like it's going to warm him to the public a lot more. Yeah a town from the sniper thought it was way more relaxed chilled little joke oke was thrown in there and I think a lot. I think this interview sat so the week well in terms of is going to do saying the media it code goat. It's up one one. Eighty three sixty four can knows what way it's going to go. I think this week noisy. The interest is going to be there from the GECKO on. We'll see what conor McGregor on the Wednesday. I'm intrigued intrigued by this past press conference to see what said what's asked. What does answers are like? Hey we Reacted Donald honestly. Think there is going to be some some real sort of books. Foyer works the press conference because he's being noise. I think this is a psychological plan from Conor McGregor to okay. What was watching these going? Oh He's not about Dude and then boom flip on Wednesday on. It's all going to fucking kick off. I would not be surprised at boy. What means Bruce be wasting away in just final face off on just goes ballistic unusual because I feel comedy control themselves face offs? Yeah like ever. Since he's a kid he was doing this. Switches Outlook Dave Hill for turn out on yes gone bonkers not so I would not be surprised. I think the whole week is intriguing. Boss I just hang just how this man that we're gonNA see some focused mantle on Wednesday and I just WanNa say You know if you hear Arial using colloquial slang this is teacher don't let those other guys these foreigners go. Oh Yeah we know it's always and maybe more here I don't know I don't know I think but talk noise to finish off nolte where I'm very sad that you won't be in Vegas at this time we haven't been Vegas together sixteen. It's probably for the better of Emma my findings coverage on the week what I mean. It's been a long time. Yeah I'm listening. I'm disappointed. You know things things work the way it would have lied to over the last year. Here in certain aspects of Miami makeovers so yeah and it's not there and we'll have to take it on the channel be pissed off during the week but I'm sure you'll have a drink at some point. I can't believe it's boredom you know is it doesn't feel like the thousands are sailing over. Vegas watched that's just for like you know it was it was Connor Mendez although even diaz legends and they wear like sport and moments 'em mm-hmm so it's like the feeling it's hard when you go over. I'm sure that you were Habib. And it isn't the same as that which also WANNA be like trauman water on on the fact that it is a huge Japan boy going like oh not the same right. Just hang you know. I think the difference from the Mendez to maybe by Connor became so far removed from from society from the people he no longer belongs the world to the world. Yeah and I think many become famous you know. You can't really go out as much. Maybe people see you in a different light. which carry the do conor Mendez fight? It was sort of transitional a point where he was one of the people to becoming a world massive star that's where the separation and became between. It's like a soccer player. Cristiano Renaldo or something. You know you've people going to games every week. You know. CRISANTO is getting two hundred grand a week. Maybe he's not he's not paying your no mortgage that sort of thing yeah. I don't think you'd ever top the jazz man. That was a special special time for mixed martial arts on all your sports in our sport it was. It was unbelievable and it's hard to replicate those feelings on it all. We'll ever really replicate those feelings. Because it was it was probably the most a special event I've ever covered in my life. One eight join dot under. You'll see that was the first one. Yeah I I am as well yes. Deadly am damage to go back there but last one am will end on a cliche. Let Studio Predictions Main Event Noel. I don't see you on four or five which John said a couple of weeks ago unless conner wants to talk with him if he's confident but I don't I don't think not only on cable wins is the only way he wins the fighting the fight to the grounds and the mission. I don't sit seven to one on paper but I think second round Conor McGregor is what I'm going for. I think it'll be early in the second round. "Now very interesting. Stole from John M great to be on that conference call with him. With all those lovely lovely journalists like him a lot and Gareth Davies Moi Spirit animal even though he ruined ruined out an email again. I'm GonNa hit you with air quotes so you can hear what is first of all. I'm just going to talk about something. That was a big moment. The Oscar interview him saying the conner looks better than ever now. He's doubled down on that sentiment in here on the conference. It's called says I think my opinion that has changed. This was about it. Being in the later he said what I would really say is that I see this void a lot. A lot of people said his forward. Eddie Alvarez was one of the most perfect voice they've ever seen it was so technically correct. And that's what I see in this for it and that that could be short or could be long the temple will will be exactly as connor set for May will be annoyed. That will be studied for a long time because it will be beautiful. It will be perfect. Is that like putting a lot of pressure on Connor. Yeah aw yeah because we don't always that's that's that's the fascinating thing another fascinating element. Because he's fought. Once in the octagon in since the sense that how many goals choice of we saw take a guy like a gop off like even from from from the Habib boy and come back and beat at like resounding just knock over like doc and Alzheimer's Donald's Oni. Not many not many so crews against music. Aki that's she's for a long time. It's it's a tough one on all you'd be more sort of you know if any sort of thing about lookie Yadav void for me if he has not that flight lightening Now obviously that's all bullshit talk from me but it would be a totally different sort of bowl game so I think you know him coming back in having not happy for you maybe a bit of fire under as ours on WANNA go out and make a statement. I'm listening to you. Know he probably was injured. The to- we heard all the rumors before how many broke the dislocated a toe into the void. You know maybe that was a massive issue but clearly connor has been training for the last six months. Is he perfect. do you anticipate debating being perfect. That's Joe Johns says. No you just can't if he does he as every bit as special as we have said in the past us you know what I mean. Listen to his body looks great statically physically. He looks really really big looks frustrated in his face. Although a he's he's sort of got old look and I think in the last couple of years. So maybe that's shows where he's out the mental and physical level his. He's a lot more series. I think in the interviews. We've seen scene perfect. It's a very. It's an out their common from his covenant. Okay here here's the clarification on the training camp to him. A lot of people had been talking talking about this came out and he said I saw your tweet. Well what else are we meant to do. A here's what he's training company awesome to clarify and I'm actually glad he did we. Of course that the training schedule what each day will be meant more. The Connor has an ability to see where shots are going to land. Better than me or anybody else I've ever seen. If he can see what shots are going to land and communicate the asked and we can make sure their parrot of pods action for example on that. Oh you can inform sparring partners that these are some of the luxury want to see. It's not like every Monday. He sends the seven day schedule and says on Wednesday. We're going to. We're going to ruin seven K.. On Thursday night. It's me and the team setting the schedule. But I meant it more in terms of floyd or I think I think that's very connor probably has better for you than than anyone and Orleans. So that's that's that's Fernow of book. Yeah but I taught it came across when he said it originally would Oscar. You know in terms of Oh it definitely across that way I I can understand what he said. There seem very different answer and it it. It's GonNa work out and I think we talked what but Roddy it said and what John said last week as well and it was very conflicting even in that so yeah cassani means there. I am a little bit foggy flabbergasted again. I want to say it somebody install. I think it's a big shift big shift. Maybe they're doing on purpose. Maybe they want they want us to think they just they just listened to your Bashan pissing themselves. Yes yeah probably closer folk. It is the whole last two weeks of these interviews. I'm just I'm sitting in bed and counties. What about this before can alleman? Yeah here's the. Here's the loin on popularity which I talked about beforehand and you can give me your reaction hand. I'd love for people to spend a little more time. Laguardia driving through town connor or calling into a shop O'Connor and being mobbed for salvation people shaking his hand and congratulating. I think people confuse twitter. Low Foot real-life UNBELIEV- stuff on twitter in real life going to yoga and the airport there crowds of people screaming on ruining to us. Maybe a couple of people on twitter. Who Will Roy that if he wins? But I wouldn't hold my breath on that I'd say when he's talking about will roy that if he wins W. talking about is his popularity dwindling in Orland 'em it's an interesting way. He's framed because he didn't really answer the question in terms of house. He noticed the droppings aboard on twitter. He's said the positive things when he goes into shop on the car. And we've all seen gene on the reason that there's a lot of things that connor has done that have gone largely. You'll notice a lot of good things that he's done children's charity the Children's Hospital. Should I say the same in the. US He's done lots of really really good things but yeah. That's an answering the question. That's looking on. The positive side is what he's experienced. Ah when he's been with conner conner's very different person. I think when he's away from the compound away from John Calvin and we've seen that time after time. The connors best behavior is obviously when when he's in comp in Virginia. He's he's a very very different person. Yeah I mean it was actually that answer that M. oil. Actually when he said that I was like people are GonNa think make this loop. So that's what I went out to the street like. That's what I was like all right. We've got we've got to do this am they. Can always wanted to see as well to be honest. I was like maybe I do. Have it is ways did you you see dod video. Watch it there this afternoon. You know. Yeah he was fighting now. I might stay up like this. Does that is there. It's getting across and here comes across is going to be the press conference next Wednesday. I agree with you I mean but I do you feel as though the thing I got from. It was Roy Moore by saying the popularity has definitely gone down the dogs in the streets but the popularity is definitely gone down. He still still the most probably the most famous sportsmen in Orland easy I also got the feeling that for at least eighty percent of people interviewed that there is that room for reconciliation. They are going to say maybe. We'll maybe we'll get back into our good books. You know what I mean. I don't think they're GONNA as us at area. I don't think they're gonNA be as big as a you know. He has ever been or anything like that but I do feel as though he has room to get back into better graces. Yeah I think anyone does win on. I think it's going to be very important to consult himself himself this week. Because you know Mino Habib press conference last time. His brand where people were gone. Jesus maybe we don't rely posting though before right in Brooklyn over the yeah that would have been the first one then. The heavy thing and it's trades brag there's been a loss and bought. Yeah no that's that's what I mean in terms of. We don't forget I think as this is quakers useless even mentioned there. You've just given the perfect example of dots people in Ireland. And they're gonNA Balk Talk Shit. Their focus is being really so it is hard to forgive and forget and I think we're such a small nation news rain quicker. She gets around foster on both. I mean mean rumors like fucking hang. "Now very interesting. Stole from John M great to be on that conference call with him. With all those lovely lovely journalists like him a lot and Gareth Davies Moi Spirit animal even though he ruined ruined out an email again. I'm GonNa hit you with these air quotes so you can hear what is first of all. I'm just going to talk about something. That was a big moment. The Oscar interview him saying the conner looks better than ever now. He's doubled down on that sentiment in here on the conference. It's called says I think my opinion that has changed. This was about it. Being in the later he said what I would really say is that I see this a lot. Lot of people said his forward Eddie. Alvarez was one of the most perfect voice I've ever seen it was so technically correct and that's what I see in this for it and that that could be short or could be long the temple will will be exactly as connor set for May will be annoyed. Although a he's he's sort of got old look and I think in the last couple of years so maybe that's shows where he's out the mental and physical level. He's he's a lot more series. But I meant it more in terms of floyd or I think I think it's fair to say conor probably has better for you than than anyone and Orleans. I think it's a big shift shift. Maybe they're doing on purpose. Maybe they want me. They want us to think they just they just listened to your Bashan pissing themselves. Yes yeah probably closer folk. It is the whole last two weeks of these interviews. I'm just I'm sitting in bed and counties. What about this before can yeah? Here's the here's the loin on popularity which I talked about beforehand and you can give me your reaction hand. I'd love for people to spend a little more time. Laguardia driving through town connor or calling into a shop O'Connor and being mobbed for salvation people shaking his hand and congratulating. I think people confuse twitter. Low foot. real-life unbeliev- stuff on twitter in real life going to yoga and the airport. There are crowds of people screaming on ruining to us. Maybe a couple of people on twitter. Who Will Roy that if he wins? But I wouldn't hold my breath on that I'd say when he's talking about will roy that if he wins they'll be talking about is his popularity dwindling in Orland. It's an interesting way. He's framed because he didn't really answer the question in terms of house. He noticed the droppings aboard on twitter. He's said the positive things when he goes into shop on the car. And we've all seen gene on the reason that there's a lot of things that connor has done that have gone largely. You'll notice a lot of good things that he's done children's charity with the Children's Hospital. Should I say the same in the. US He's done lots of really really good things but yeah. "It doesn't seem to be what everybody thought. It was to be very where they're just going there and doing what he wants. He talked about that he also talked about you. Know we asked him about Connors popularity in Orland and he said Paris in the in person he hasn't noticed any dwindling popularity. Can you believe that like until oh no it's totally nuts can believe if we're on a wouldn't notice look it's eight when you walk into a place where people are putting input as far as we're aware from what he said you know they weren't talking for quite some time so I don't but that's not the deal with his popularity. No but I think you know obviously being removed from content that he would have seen Neela. Oh yeah but he he. Didn't he said in Paris. I have noticed it. Can you believe I think again. It was certain extent. Yeah if connor and stuff like that and yeah obviously being around the top. You're obviously going to see the phones and everyone's GonNa be don't go mental as the always do so. It must be weird being in that situation because he could probably walk down grabbing three now when people we'll be all over him and then you know when when he's not there people. Yeah I mean that's not a faucet element to this is if it's GonNa Focus Orcas had open on terms of if needs to be Booze Vegas me comes to put this money in that. You never know like you never know when I think there is adds more pressure on him. I think to a lot of a lot of pressure on connor here and people don't realize how big a part of his halting the Irish people are. I mean the the UFC Dublin card when he's like looks like he's the savior of Orland basically because everyone's losing their minds and it sells out in seconds into the loudest crowd ever for this guy and now they don't like him that's mental. Like if you're if you're American looking into that must be so strangely. Yeah just noticed that as well and he hasn't made with the Irish phrases and slang and seines as much as enormity has so maybe he realized that in his head that the support is gone away with a little bit and he doesn't is monitored atop Dan those lines so that's that's an interesting one to me and the other sort of dynamic and you know there's so many so it's mental. It's all fucking year to be honest. Yeah well so let's get onto this conference. Call apologies for the feedback in the background. That was all jared days. And you know she. He just left his phone on the ground walked off came by ten minutes few questions. He's all realize the gangster border. Look I think this is some great stuff here from John Eh. U.S. Supreme Court takes major case that could curb abortion access

"Majority the US Supreme Court today added abortion rights to its docket for the new term agreed to hear a challenge to a Louisiana law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals joining us now is a B. season as they look at Tara and so what are we expecting to see here in front of the justices because this is an issue that they have been long reluctant to take up. thing here as they had been reluctant to take up kind of controversial issues especially after everything that happened with Brett Kavanaugh he's been kind of boring awhile when and to keep the same amount for this terms are very controversial issues so expecting to hear a lot about the Supreme Court through the twenty twenty campaign fever and I'm sure it's something that democratic candidates will be talking a lot about on the campaign trail the latest news is that they will be adding abortion rights to their doctors and they're gonna be hearing a challenge to this without leaving a lot like you mentioned this is a lot of the signed in in two thousand fourteen and critics of the law say that the requirement to apply for those admitting privileges are are costly and burdensome incidents that will likely ultimately limit women's access to abortion procedures supporters of the law say that the state have the right to regulate abortion clinics and the doctor is not this is all ages with the end goal of ensuring safety so the president of the March for life without about all this she said that stricter clinic regulations are in the best interest of women for the other the the two arguments on both sides there what's interesting here is that this will not only be the the first abortion case heard by the new conservative majority of course of the two new justices no courses but Kavanagh pointed by president trump the Supreme Court now you know has the five food for conservative majority if it'll be interesting to see what happens with this case but it's also coming at a time when a number of states have passed laws to restrict or even fully banned abortion so you know and again as I mentioned it is the three unit Miller they're gonna be hearing this particular particular case and early twenty twenty for this will no doubt become a

Insiders are selling stock as recession worries mount

"Things were AH unsettled in a certain part of this economy today. The political part is what I'm talking about with the tide turning toward impeachment and one imagines the already high level of economic uncertainty only increasing in the months to come but there are some in this economy who are completely certain certain that this is a good time to sell L. corporate insiders which is to say board members and C. Suite executives are selling shares of their own companies at the fastest rate since two thousand back in the DOT com bubble well days that's according to some analysis first reported by the Financial Times and we ought to say and you're probably thinking right now well. What are those people selling know that the rest. I don't good question marketplace adjusted. Ho went in search of the answer investors like it when corporate insiders own stock in the companies they run says Karen Kavanagh now at voyage investment management. They WanNa make sure that the company executives have some skin in the game. There are plenty of reasons executives might sell some of their stock. It could be to buy a car to to be their kid's college. Tuition Hillary Kramer of Kramer capital research says they could also be doing some estate planning passing money onto their children making sure or that they're diversified in terms of planning. It's just a fancy way to say. How are you gonNA leave money to the next generation but when a lot of executive -secutive start selling at the same time like they are now Kramer says market start paying attention because it may very well be just a reflection of what executives it is believe the actual overall economy will do and that a downturn may happen in the very near future corporate insiders might also be thinking about the political future in why you finance Professor David Your Mac says they may be selling because taxes on capital gains could increase after twenty twenty selling shares of stock will be much more expensive. If the Democrats win the presidential election reverse some of the trump tax cuts and maybe put in some new taxes on the very wealthy in your Amac says after Obama won the twenty twelve election companies paid out more in dividends before the Bush tax cuts expired the following year an insider selling picked up back then as well in New York. Abortion advocates promise to fight back after controversial bill signed into law

"Inskeep. Supporters of abortion rights say they're fighting back. They are responding with protests to new laws in state after state restricting abortion. The laws deliberately contradict the terms of Roe versus Wade, and they were approved by lawmakers who say they hope the supreme court will reconsider that nineteen Seventy-three decision, NPR national correspondent Sara mccamman is in our studios. Good morning. Good morning I should note. Alabama's governor even as she signed this law said, probably unenforceable law that bans nearly all abortions in Alabama, how seriously do abortion rights groups, take these laws. They take very seriously. They're feeling very threatened by the fact that legislatures are passing these very restrictive antiabortion laws. Remember Alabama's bands of worship at all stages of pregnancy with no exceptions for rape incest, several states, including Missouri last week have passed laws banning abortion, as soon. As cardiac activity can be detected, which is often before a woman knows she's pregnant. And so we're gonna say that Roe v. Wade is under the greatest threat in generation now that President Trump has put two justices on the supreme court, Steve, I talked with Elise Hogue of Nero pro choice, America. She says her group is hearing from activists around the country, even more so than last year during the confirmation hearings for Justice Brett Kavanagh. We are seeing that same level of energy, possibly more. Because some people didn't believe even with Justice on the bench that row was was threatened. But these laws so that it absolutely is that there is a goal coming out of these states with a national anti-choice momentum criminalize version of women, and I should mention that these laws tend to punish doctors who perform abortion rather than women who seek them the one in Alabama includes a penalty for doctors who perform abortions of up to ninety nine years in prison food clarification. But why are we seeing? So many of these laws at once. Well, a big reason is because of the new energy and optimism that abortion rights, opponents are feeling in light of President Trump's nominees who've been confirmed at the supreme court and moved it to the right. They're working hard to pass these restrictive laws. And again, hoping to see a challenge to Roe v. Wade, and we've also seen a few states like New York pass restriction protections on the other side protections for abortion rights, including removing restrictions on abortion later in pregnancy of worship opponents say that's energize them and in push them state. Lawmakers in the midwest and south to to try to push further for these restriction role of sick about how this would end up in the supreme court. You pass a law in Alabama or wherever number of states, someone then challenges it in court, and that would be someone who supports abortion rights. I guess are, are group's lining up to challenge these, these laws in court. They certainly are. In fact, there is a hearing today in Mississippi on one of these bands, that, that bands of worship after heartbeats detected and I should note Steve that none of these early. Taken effect yet. Some have already been blocked in court. Is it likely that some of these challenges will make the supreme court, not anytime soon? It takes a long time for laws to work their way through the appeals system and some of these may be never, because, again, they may just be thrown out by lower courts as obviously in conflict with Roe v. Wade. But what we should really be watching out for is some of the other laws that are already working their way through the system or are somewhat less restrictive laws. For example, that, that ban abortions for specific reasons because of genetic disorder and others. Some of those are very close to the supreme court and could be taken up soon, and move around the edges of ocean rights, rather than going directly at the fundamental question. Sarah, thanks so
