"Growing, growing as a person. Yeah. I think I can echo this year. Every day I look at Alice like a mirror reflection of myself and just like I'm reading a book as something right about you and me. And yes, I realize certain things I like time management be a better person and human. That's the thing. I learned from Alice. And also learned to take myself and take myself serious in a way House. I mentally, I also went to see a lot of psychologists like people help you to. When your mom, I think I go deep down when during pregnancy also had a kind of childhood come back to me, so I also went to see somebody to profession to help me go through this. So deep down, I'm kind of like a reborn with Ellis. Yes, that's true. Yeah, that's beautiful. Yeah. Ribon. And we want to get better because we chateau shattered all the habits, bad habits, and get new way of thinking. I think the mindset is so important when you are happy when you're healthy, you can give more to your child to the world to everything you want to do. So I think the most important tip for those who are mother and want to and also don't afraid of discussing this with other with your Friends with your, I don't know, I really hope that I have friends among people who are mothers and who are illustrators and drawing people because you can discuss you can discuss and career and to discuss motherhood. I realize we will talk about it last time we met. And now you are here for the guests. That's true. So the circles around again. It's really helpful. This kind of help. Just talking just talking because sometimes we are sitting along with a kid, and you have nobody around to talk to, just yeah, it's really important to have somebody or you should listen to our podcast. That's what we're here for. I think and we're going to have happy week we were able to discuss this topic about combining motherhood and having a career in art with the two of you both amazing mothers and amazing artists. "So Alice pick up the Pito and put on her hand, and then she found a place that a leaf and she put a leaf underneath and put on the back to the nature. And such a little little gesture and I feel like I realize kids notice so little little little creature, and sometimes for adults, most of us, okay, okay, you go, you know, they took time. To really appreciate it and give kind of for me, are watching us like a ritual. And I realize it helps me to appreciate notice that things around me more and also and as I before I go on the bike and trip and the animals I try to if I go sometimes go next to the river and go say hello to the ducklings. And I never had that like a ghost especially to the river to say hello to the ducklings. It's something like it's a conversation with animals. I talk to the animals, the people think I'm crazy. I even talk to my plants. I think it's really true. Yeah, I think it's enhanced in a way that you appreciate a little things. You pay more attention of it. Yeah. And also for the art creation, I think I like more like a narrative not only painted the beautiful things, but also has because I reading a lot for Alice and also makeup story every night. In order to go to bed, you need to have three stories. I had to quick a quick makeup stories. So I think in the way by interacting with her and see how she react to the world around her and help me to notice things so many creative ideas just jump on and just wonderful subject matters, you know? I think we learn a lot from our children and also we learn them. We teach them. So because they also look at us. It's inside you already, but they awaken it. Yeah. So I think that they burn the appearing with their own personality. And our task is to guide them to guide them to show the way yes. Oh, and one thing they want to say to you one day I'm very fundamental because I was just switched from international school to Dutch school, which is good thing. Nature and more creativity. But when they say something to me, it's also helped me to think that mom, I try to fit in, person, you know, she speaks Dutch, but not through it as Dutch touch, but she speaks Chinese, but that just don't speak Germany. So English, she said, I just want to be normal. I want to be fit in. And so in a way, with being a mom, how can a despot like a very fundamental? It's very important before she goes to sleep if they always give you the idea whole day, they spend a school or something. This is very fundamental like 20 minutes time is the quality time. I never miss I never want to miss it. And that moment and I have to give a smart answer. Yeah, it's so interesting. So I don't want you to fit in, but how I can say it in a way that she can accept it. So it's also I want to make it in a book..

Yeah okay that's a great idea. I think yeah okay all right so yes i guess that's the update tried to remember that check. Did it learned that it's probably possible. You know unless it's discipline it's not even it's a discipline isn't it and we're like with anything we've got to. Sometimes you wake up and you're not in the mood to do something but discipline is. What gets us out of the house or you know to do that extra push. That's that's discipline because we're not always in them with today things. I think that's important. You've got to have a drive and if it's discipline that can motivate you than. That's so so good that you find that it's been so lovely chatting you before i let you go. I have to just do a quick fire round with you. Okay as the run plot quickfire owned. At which trainers do you run in. I've got nikes and their florescent yellow. "Can i ask how long do you. I mean the short runs. How long do you think you run for when you go well. I do five ks. So i've looked on the map. What five ks. And i go run my park and come back. And that's precisely about five k. And i tried to give myself timing as well solves that right. Let's try today within. I started with thirty minutes. I think i the that was fine. Then try to decrease the timing so go spillover faster little bit faster but then you will find like weather conditions actually have really big effect on it. Like in if it's wet and raining though you think you're gonna fast obviously may because you careful of the woods in don't wanna sly all had hilarious follow while in the modern that was bryant by the way really makes a difference in the effort actually put more effort. I find when it's raining because you careful. You kind of your body tenses. A little bit more but timing doesn't improve you know so whether different place the part but yeah on when it's wet in the park slope and i was trying to overtake people just completely. My foot slipped and our it was yeah hilarious. I love i love the reads it. It's always awful. Would i fell over not that long ago as well well last summer as well and and i ripped my favorite leggings oversaw through irritated with half. That is so true. Isn't this the was is right on the knee. So you can't even kind of just because you can't really sue them together because they wouldn't stay in place. It's just so frustrating. I was about to say you can patchwork you know and like repair them. There's always ways there's maybe that maybe what has to happen and i met. I met up with your ex. Neil the other day and i knew that you're still friends with heaven. He tried to teach tried to teach me a dance. Oh my goodness i mean. He's a great teacher very patient. Because i am not natural dancer but it did meet me realize how different running. It's to dancing and so it's great that you're mastering we've mastered the booth of them but i have to say like off find running difficult. I found in the beginning difficult..

"Flex are is has been for quite a few years already from dancing in listen in just intensity of the show is been playing up so i have to make sure i deploy lunges you know the quart so take my pick up my foot at the back. You know really push it ben. It's actually you just your legs. It's your entire body. Your lower back is really important as well so stretched out and then hot shower isn't as just really nice for all your muscles. How good does it feel to get into a hot shower after run. Oh my goodness. It's so lovely. So lovely to the strip as fast as i can just and in that showers also really good for muscles then hot and cold. This really fantastic too so go in hot cold hot cold. Yeah and then ready. Take on the of that. Do you find that because of law gain and obviously there's been so many shoes and so many opportunities to dance have all been canceled. Have you have you needed to do running. To kind of keep fit because the spurs dancing not been as easy to know in juneau. What is very true. Even though we've taken classes online and things like that are myself personally. A spec before the beginning of strict chea haven't danced at all. I found myself noting any dancing toll. So i'm happy to do workouts even with my friends. And going in the ron and got my bicycle out so i would change one day. Run one day bicycle when they run when they bicycle. Because it's really funny but when did those first runs yet that are never run before consistently my joint started to hurt a i. I thought oh maybe it's not for me my my knees hurting my ankles hurting like it's probably not good for me but then i was listening and reading and some of my physio friends. No you've got you've got to be careful of course bought. It's like anything you've got to build on it and the more on the moma the muscles my body parts stronger and it went away. All these paints went away isn't of course if you have an injury that's completely different thing but my body just kinda thought what you doing. We've never done this before. Why you running or we don't like this and then to gently east my body into it and listen to it but it's gone off to that now i'm like no i can run run it's brilliant. I'm so pleased that you've tried it. And i knew that you say you still to fall in love with it but it's i. I think the way you talk. It does sound like you like it. I do know. Is you know what talking about. It made me realize that it's funny. Isn't it when you start talking to another runner. You find that you can talk about it for ages and then you walk away on you go. I want to go for a run. No unless you've been one already but it does make you want to go and run because you realize how great is for you. Def definitely makes me feel like it now. But i've done a reggie might actually around this morning to the gym session. And also knowing the i'll veto conc- i wanted to solve experience and think i'm a what my where my thoughts go and how this my body fail just self to rian analyze it yet once again and this is quite like the sweaty feeling over..

"So i think that you go through every emotion possible in even a short run up and sold it. Gino off like i was on holiday. Molly oh shorts rotting you really sold it. Then i think you'll experience every emotion on a run and and you'll come back but you're right when you say you will. You'll never regret it. you'll just be. I'm glad i went. Because i feel good afterwards and you won't remember the heart bits. You just remember the bits that felt good. And how'd you feel with pressure. Because i think also for me running. I consider as right. Well if i'm gonna go running off better go fast or have to. It's an exercise. It's called joe. It's thesis thought. Somehow in my head. I think of built up slot in may be wrong expectations. So that's why. Sometimes i'm not enjoying the thought of doing it but actually if you allow yourself you know not to put that pressure as well you have to come back and have to be out of breath no matter what and feel like your legs are falling off like that's kind of expectations in my head that the supposed to have but i don't think that's exactly right is it and it will. Do you know what i think. Actually running slower is harder. Because you've got to make yourself run slower because naturally you would pick up the pace. And i'm not saying like if you're running knowing you're going. I don't think i could run any faster. Quite running slowly. Your body will probably go faster than sometimes you want it to go so you have to really make an effort to slow down a lot of the time and so it may be worth try map because also you might be able to run further for longer as well. I mean you might know but there's a good. It's a good practice as well but and then you could pick up the pace every now and again and it's like a proper work that way as well mixing up..

"I was like what is happening but it was to the point where had to put the hand on the back so i don't follow because he would push me that hard but honestly the feeling of the achievement at the end i think for anybody personally for me is what what drives me every time to do anything so when i'm out of the house and i'm ready to run them like just think how amazing you're gonna feel when you're gonna come back and you've done it and it feels great yearly released all the negativity you forget about the things for that moment. I always remind myself of that. Really feel good moment at the end of the run it is. That's that's what you do have to remember because as you say sometimes just getting. The host is difficult if it's raining or if you'd rather just stay in bed but longer and frugal going for a run and just have a longer lie but actually you go and do it. You will feel amazing and you will come back really pleased that you did it absolutely like the other day i mean lately. There hasn't been great. But i did are what it was. It was slightly raining. But i really enjoyed it. I absolutely loved it was fresh and again. I didn't double give myself time to doubt myself as soon as that thought came to my house. Sugar for run yes susil. Let's go out of the house. it raining. Nut raining doesn't matter. I kept counting my steps. I kept giving me some little targets and got home as i..

"If you run and listen to podcasts or an or anything else you actually your body's working harder which is a great thing but the same time can a distraction. You learn something and a lot of that time that you know you allow yourself suggest take time full maybe busy schedule of your life and even though for me like i said i'm still on the journey of exploring that and getting comfortable with it like the other day. I put my headphones in. I try to listen to podcasts. And then realize that kant account can't have to just like you said focus on steps. So i started just counting. I started counting. I was going one step three step for. I've got two hundred started all over again. And that's the only way it kind of got me kept going and also got my mind off everything because i was just focusing steps a numbers. I'm so happy you say this because people laugh at me because that's fine too and i can't i count every right step on my counter on my right hand so when i get two hundred i go that to five hundred and then i go and then i start again and that's so if i'm coming up to a hill i will go right. I think it's going to be two hundred to the top of this hill. And i will count until i get to the toll. It's is the best way to stay focused on the running and also not to be tempted to stop because you keep going. I'm going to keep going to get to one hundred then another hundred if in fact if you were running no and you find it. It's really hard just count and catchy. Does i do it and it does make a difference really does where our focus on my left. I go left left left one and two and again. I gave myself goal so at the end. Look at for example. I know there's a skip that top of the road. That my name is an always go to get to that skip. Just get to that skit. Once i got to skip. I give myself a new little goal to get to that corner. Just gets kona and so. I think that that could help as well if you like running that. Just finally all targets. Just see something in front of you and tried to get to that point because once you get there you will find that you actually can't carry on elliott. Oh bit longer..

"The hill relied joke at the jive. Is maybe you know it's kicks flicks and you just jumping and hopping and bouncing for two minutes. That would be like the fastest. You can go for two minutes until you until failure and we would saw replicate. What's to come on a treadmill and thought that was really interesting because you change the speeding. You change dynamics of your iran as you do it. Yeah that's that's a really interesting way of getting fit for dance. I never realized that you would use running in that way. Because you're right as well you. You fit for sports in different ways. Aren't you nichole adams as you say you partnered with her just at the end of last year and yet she's insanely fit in terms of bulks and she can produce skipping for hours but dancing. Completely different disciplines. Yeah and we actually. She brought a skipping ropes for the warm up and we ski different ways. It's really funny. Gazon i make it look really prissy at the end my posture's upright and on my tiptoes you know. And she's got the boxes you now down and shoulders also forward and ding all the tricks and flip. So it was really funny. I had to retrain her because for me as like one. That's not gonna work for dancing. Keep your shoulders up. Keep your posture. Get on your but it is also amazing just the way how dancing keeps you all in such great shape. I mean there are new overweight. Strictly dancers and i'm not saying that size is important but in terms of you can see you know you're physically and you're you're healthy and you're fit so i'm wondering if maybe we all need to forget running and get on the treadmill nixon. Just start chatchai. Maybe that's the secret of well. I think even the bets example of for dancing can do for you is seeing the transformation that celebrities go for. Oh my goodness what is that like. It's unbelievable i mean i've had my first year. Of course i had at balls. And i remember he said to me i said so. Have you been doing any preparation. I know some of slips of tried to get fitter. He won now. I just ate more chips. Because he wanted to solve show even bigger improving transformation for his journey on strictly. And i think he's lost like stone and a half the muscle tone. The posture changed and mike. Bushel also had Our the loveliest man ever sports presenter he lost over stone and are put to two photos together from his first or hassle and from From his last dance. And it's absolutely unbelievable. The change in his not. Just wait but the way he holds himself the neckline the shoulder law and the tone of the arms the way he felt and presented himself it's absolutely unreal and i think a lot of people underestimate the powell dance because you have to engage absolutely every single for part and your brain. We waved vicente and go back home so it was great and then it's become a really nice of little ritual for me but like i said i always need a reason or a goal so i did this really funny thing what i thought. Okay this is my weekend shopping lamb. All while i live by myself saw the need much food. So i get my backpack fronta local sainsbury's but because it didn't want to stop at in the first lockdown few remember. There would be accused outside. Since so i would just carry on the running around the parking lot and then i would squat and on in place. And then when the q. Would move up. I would like lunge dhillon just to what's my next stop and people would just really frightened by was i saying and some people were like isn't that can't hear from straightly do know these kind of like crazy lunges and schools while she's in the queue for scenes. Listen the way i looked at. Who'd a hind sweaty for anybody to recognize. But some people annoyed doing it. You know what because you were. We like panting. Was that what it was or call hugh back you know. I would move because i was lunging towards my next position. And not. Just walking brilliant. You could've done them. You know some kind of q fitness because there would have been a demand for that last year when all. Those kids were everywhere. You could have done like a fitness app on your food. And if you were an aq- here's a little work to do whilst you wait. I'm not gonna lie. I was so tempted to go. Everybody five six seven eight. Let's go i swear. I was really tempted to love. "As i can and i will give a my app salute everything however if it's a long distance i'm like well where am i running. Why why doing it. And when am i going to get there so i only did it for the exams and i still remember a right like now. There wasn't examined will have to do how many laps around the stadium And because i knew it was to get the mocks to get the school. I gave my absolute everything. I didn't get the best mark by collapsed at the end of the at to bring a medical personnel. Because they thought something's really wrong with me. I was so out of breath. I was so i couldn't breathe a collapsed. I gave my absolute thing. Just she was ho competitive. You are cafe isn't it. it definitely does. Maybe since then i kind of kept away from it. But then i love nature and i love going out on the walks walks always been in my family. We would go full long walks and Jaren locked vissel nelson. What would you do. How do we keep fit especially being a dancer going from hundred miles an hour. Exercising all the time to now being stuck at home. I thought this is it. They says the moment for me to embrace it. Give a guy and hopefully for love for bed and my first run. I think i was. It was pathetic. Everything was hurting. I felt like i was hundred years old i had. I realized that don't have proper headphones. So had to have a little phone ear earphones in and then put a hood over it and then to keep it in place. I had to put like fake cat. Ferns over the top of it. 'cause they don't they followed sue easily to exactly the little ones especially with my ears. I don't know i guess is all different shapes it. Just don't stay so hard to stop squash them between the hood and like these big massive headphones that don't work anymore and try to fit in with the you know the crowd a very experienced runners but you know the catchy. The gods are speaking to the people through a crack in the earth in delfi up in the mountains north west of athens and then how did the people who were in power capitalize on that to take advantage of that delfi became the most important placing the ancient world. Everybody all the kingdoms they would go there in order to find out. They should go to war if they should do. Big public works whatever. They had to decide if they felt. It was a very important decision. They would go there and nas the oracle for advice. So it's going into this mysterious temple and you've got priestesses and robes and crazy things and they really think this is the the oz on earth there would be these young girls that were inside special rooms underneath the temple of apollo and they would inhale vapes and starts talking in a way that no one would understand so they had priest that would decipher. We got to decipher as he wanted to today as a tourist. What do we see in delfi. Philippos see the ruins of the temple of apollo was the treasurer of the athenians. Which is building that the erected in order to commemorate because they took a lot of money. I suppose what's on the to the horse. Yeah so every city stayed with covid tone treasury the athenian you walk up to the temples and the theater and race course and so on and you pass all these temples that were treasuries collecting all that money. it's a fascinating place to check out one of the best sites from ancient greece. This is travel with rick. Steves with johanna wanna costa and phillips kind of cars. We're talking about greek mythology from the travelers point of view. You wanna if you're taking groups around whereas one site that you like to take groups where you really want to understand the greek mythology behind it. There are so many. It's all over the country wherever you were wherever you see mountains plans. Everything has a mess behind it. But there's a part of the peloponnese peninsula which is really unknown to the people come into the country. The heart of the peloponnese. The area called acadia very rich mythology over there. And one of my favorite stories is the story of where the name came from. So there was zeus. Who was a playboy. He was always in love with many women. Herro was his god. His wife hera okiro once fell in love with a beautiful girl. Her name was callisto and She got pregnant and hero found out and she really got mad. So zeus change their woman. TSA sees highest number of airport passengers screened since pandemic started

"Despite the drastic surge in coronavirus cases and hospitalizations already underway. Us air travel over the weekend reached its highest peak of the pandemic. The tsa says nearly one point. Three million passengers were screened yesterday. And that has dr found she again warning of a surge on top of a surge back with us tonight dr. He'd be delia an infectious disease physician and the medical director of special pathogens unit. At boston university school of medicine she worked with the world health organization back when we were a member nation during the o. Bola outbreak and is among one of our medical. Contributors dr julia. It's good to see you so the travel over the weekend was exceptional. All things considered a lot of americans deciding that they wanted to get away. I wanted to see family. What do you make of what that is going to mean for the spread across the country. And when will we start seeing that spike. Katya look back one month right. Look at california as an example. California is one of the epicenters right now in our country of this pandemic and the state lockdown order. But when you look at the cell phone mobility data people didn't stop moving as much as they did after the first lock down and you only have to look at the tsa data for lax the biggest day of travel during pandemic on november twentieth. The top forty four thousand people the second largest summer twenty third and so if what played out with the increased number of cases leading to the hospitalizations that you're seeing in december now because of the holiday travel in november. Were up on a hill. A really really rough hill for the next month as we see what's already happening in hospitals get doubled from the cases and hospitalizations that result from the december new year's travel. Let me redo this from the washington post. It's impossible to say. How many infections people have taken flights in part because those travelers may not have known they were sick. The cdc said in september that it had investigated sixteen hundred cases of people who flew while they were at risk of spreading the virus and identified. Almost eleven thousand people who could have been exposed on those flights. Now the airlines taking great pains to say that they have state of the art air filtration systems and the air within those plans are getting getting circulated so quickly that the spread of infection when you are flying is relatively low. They're also a lot of airlines. That are saying they're trying to spread people out but with that. Many people traveling on limited schedules. The planes are getting tighter. My question to you is. Where is the risk worse. Worst is on the planes or is it at these gatherings that folks are coming from. Yeah i think it depends on the plane or the gathering. I mean on the plane. The toughest part is when you're actually at the gate when all those hippo filters and not circulation is actually off. And you don't know the person in front of your or next us put their mascot right. this has been. There's been an ongoing discussion about getting travelers to wear masks. And so it is. It is during the plane ride. It is those periods of time. There is no circulation but that person as you said asymmetric what we know that asymptomatic carriers people who are infected could make up up to forty percent of the new cases the spread of new cases and so they may take whatever transmission they got on that plane to their gatherings and again indoors larger groups all of those elements as we've been talking about over the course of this pandemic are going to hurt one. One thing that i heard today that really struck me. Is that people who got infected at their christmas gathering that they now go to the new year parties they're actually going to be infectious and be able to transmit that.
