"Now with Katie Fehlinger in the weather center. We've got not only a little bit of snow, but a lot of cold coming up eighty. Yes. And I do think that Brandon. Actually makes the main weather headline for us. Of course, the snow is going to cause a substantial impact. But the cold really is the most overarching weather headline of this five day for now. It's not terribly harsh. It's actually relatively close to seasonable. The high hits thirty seven we do still have a little bit of a cloud deck out here from really from the city on south and east, but that will continue to thin, and again, you're in the upper thirties tonight twenty-sixth the low tomorrow starts off quietly. However in the Poconos, some snow is already starting to break out tomorrow morning. And this comes in connection with our latest storm system. It's namely a cold front passage though, and that will bring in by Tuesday afternoon at earliest, and especially at night starting office, some rain in the city then turning over to some snowfall. Now. I think in the city all along and adjacent to I ninety five. It's a one two three inch swath of snow which should be gone come Wednesday morning, but up in the Poconos since you could actually have this for a good chunk of the day five to eight inches may fall and in between that zone you're talking maybe upwards of three to five inches coating to an inch though as you head south and east of. Ninety five or you're primarily going to see rain out of this disturbance now Mars, high hits forty two but come Wednesday, you're held to just twenty seven maybe a few leftover flurries again, the storm will be gone, but the wind picks up Thursday, the harshest of the bunch even despite sunshine, just seventeen degrees. And that would be a record cold high for that day. Also with the breeze making it feel that much more harsh. So that buzzword phrase polar vortex making return appearance to our forecast. But currently Brennan Carolina broadcast center in spring garden. Still some clouds out there rep twenty nine degrees right now. Yeah. Polar vortex f..

"Meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger. Joining us this morning, Katie it looks like one more decent day before we get a bunch of soggy wants here. Yeah. You know, it looks to me Carol like Friday, Saturday end up the wettest as it currently stands. But you're right. There's some wet weather that's going to be working its way in here. Even as released tonight for some of you. But for now, I think he can Bank on more sun than anything. There will be a few additional clouds. It's not as harsh of learning as it's been in recent mornings since because we do have that cloud deck, but the high hits forty two degrees. So we're still much on par with where recent days have been temperature-wise. It's later tonight in the Poconos specifically, and maybe as far south as northern valley that a little bit of very light snow start to develop from a minor disturbance and that will spread it further south through the day tomorrow. So from the city on north up rain or snow shower several of them will go on during the middle part of the day, the high hits forty three degrees. This should not amount to much of anything. Further south. You don't have to worry about it. But it certainly was mentioned. So that there could be some travel issues minor ones, but issues nonetheless through the second half of the day now Friday second half into Saturday's when that larger storm gets here. But by this point temps are in the low and mid fifties. So while it does still look like it'll be a moisture rich system, Carol. I think we're still primarily talking about a chilly rain starting late day Friday and lingering through much of Saturday. I'll delightful thanksgiving. Yesterday's meeting between the president and top Democrats from the house and Senate played out dramatically in front of cameras leaving very little to the imagination. I'm President Trump threatening to shut down the government, and the Democrats branding that a Trump shutdown be as news correspondent major Garrett says arguments inside the Oval Office or certainly nothing new, but the details are usually left unknown to the public in a unique White House legislative clash was in a class by itself, we.

"Philadelphia sponsored the eyewitness weather five day forecast. CBS three meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger. Looks like we have a handful of below normal days here. Temperature wise, Katie we do our normal high would be generally mid or upper sixties on days like this here, Carol, but we are not going to reach that today's actually one of the mildest states that we're going to encounter, and we actually have more sun expected than anything. Even though a lot of us have started off with some clouds, those will thin for more sun. But you'll also I think start to notice that breeze picking up even more. So with time to the point that we're dealing with gusts that could be as high as twenty to twenty five if not if he thirty mile per hour gusts out there later on today. So that's in essence going to cancel out any warmth that we have by comparison to yesterday. But at least it is dry for most of us. There's a front however, starting to come through and that could touch off these stray showers very far north later tonight with drops forty in the. City under an generally, clear sky to keep in mind, you're pretty cold night and the outer lying suburbs as we hit down to or even below the freezing Mark from western Chester county up to your Berks, Lehigh Northampton. And in the Poconos, in fact, it'll be enough to prompt a freeze warning up in the Poconos tonight. So you might wake up with that need to follow the windshield. Heading into tomorrow. The sun is back. The high fifty one quite cool by Friday, still in the sunshine. The high hit sixty centers there is a bit of a rebound will hit sixty three on Saturday. But overnight Friday and especially Saturday. The next front is already here. It's not a super heavy heavy hitter. But it does bring in a couple of showers, and it also knocks the temperatures back as you might imagine. So by Sunday, the sun comes back to you. But the daytime highly hits fifty two degrees currently at our broadcast spring garden. I'm seeing some sun breaks through that cloud cover. We are at forty nine eventually hitting sixty three and reporting live with your eyewitness weather forecast. Bs three meteorologist Katie Fehlinger on KYW NewsRadio. Thanks, katie. It is eight ten. "Katie Fehlinger on the CBS three eyewitness weather center. Katie we got the the remnants of Michael headed this way. But ironically, that's not going to be the biggest rainmaker for most of us. Right. That's very true. Yes. We've got a cold front Brandon. That's actually going to help steer. What's left of Michael which is now currently a tropical storm out to see? And that's actually where the brunt of our principal. Come from. Now, our southeast most counties are certainly going to get the brunt of all of it since you'll still see some of the leftovers of Michael striking that area. There's also a wind advisory that'll be in effect for that zone. Basically the southeast half of the Delaware valley sits in a flash flood watch though, predominantly from the cold front passage. So we end up with downpours and some thunderstorms. It looks to me like it's not necessarily align that comes through rather. It's often on pockets of rain and storms that come through basically at any time so radar may be somewhat quiet for now. But it will not stay that way. My advice keep. Umbrella on standby, the high hits eighty degrees. So it's a quite warm, and then we'll still have rain and storms to track later on tonight. Although by this point, the cold front is starting to slide through so you do dry out sooner from northwest to southeast. It's a windy night as well down to fifty nine degrees, quite the drop off in tomorrow. We only rebound to sixty six with clearing skies and a breeze by Saturday. It does look like end up with some sunshine. The we get all in all looking pretty good. Just a lot cooler. You're lucky to hit the low sixties both weekend days. So that'll be a rude awakening this cold front really living up to its name. And we do rebound come Monday. But that's an advance of the next cold front. So watch for a couple of showers tailender the day the high flirts with seventy by that leader broadcast center spring garden. There are really just a lot of clouds that'll change with time. The reins on the way, it's seventy four will eventually hit eighty reporting live with your eyewitness weather forecasting CBS three meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger on KYW NewsRadio.

"Katie Fehlinger in the CBS, three eyewitness weather center and a pause between the rains today. And yes, we are actually off to a pretty quiet and comfortable start all things considered here, Brandon. I know there are still some clouds out there. But I see some sun breaking through. It's actually casting some really pretty colors on the early morning sky. But we are going to continue to see the clouds rebuild, again, courtesy of a front that stalled to our south now doesn't that sound familiar and a fresh round of low pressure. That's gonna ride in a long that's allowed bring back the threat of rain primarily as early as this evening, but especially overnight. That's when the heaviest will fall, and we could be facing anywhere from a half an inch to an inch localized amounts up to an inch and a half. So a flood watch is going to take effect again this evening from eight o'clock until six AM tomorrow. So thankfully, the heaviest rain is coming when most people are tucked away for the night. But this is still going to be an issue for us. Maybe even at early tomorrow morning with leftover shower. Still around. So today's high hit seventy one to sixty one tonight tomorrow up to seventy degrees and the good news is quite clear from that point forward. So as high pressure regained control the rest of the five day looks just awesome beautiful days, both Saturday and Sunday. Mid seventies. Feeling like fall at sunshine and the first of October Monday looks even better in my opinion. Anyway, you're up to seventy nine degrees again with son can't beat that. Currently at our broadcast center in spring garden, gum general mixed a little gray outside, but I can at least make out the tops of the skyscrapers and the sun is trying to break through. It's sixty four feels great. We're headed for seventy one reporting live with your eyewitness weather forecast. I'm CBS three meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger.

"Meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger. Periods of rain continues especially first half of the day and the heaviest will fall north and west of the city. Meanwhile, a coastal flood advisory isn't effect from the city on south and east toward the shore. Our daytime high hit seventy seven tonight, we drop to seventy degrees. But coming up finally some brighter days ahead. I will let you know whether that coincides with the weekend. That's when we check eyewitness weather on KYW NewsRadio. Raining lightly at the broadcast center right now, sixty three degrees heading up to seventy seven KYW news time five oh two. It is time for salmon. Traffic and transit on the twos. Burning Carol with the rainy conditions speeds and visibility down allow the extra time overnight construction. Half of it is done on the vine expressway eastbound is reopened between the Schuylkill expressway in broad street, the overnight construction despite the rain was out there until just a couple of minutes ago. So that part of the vine is open from the Schuylkill you can get into town. However in the next couple of minutes, we should have the westbound side reopened, but it's still close. So those coming in from ninety five you can get on only as far as broad street on the vine expressway westbound is still closed between broad and the Schuylkill expressway. I suspect by the end of this report will have everything reopened west on the vine expressway. And of course, we'll keep you posted within the hour an accident involving a car overturned on its roof at Girard avenue. Ran right into the embankment right shoulder. Partial right lane is the tow trucks. Trying to get this guy out of the way those east on the Schuylkill expressway approaching. Gerard avenue caution with the right lane close east of this. It's okay. West in the Schuylkill expressway looks all right. Get to ninety five from the northeast looking at the Mealey's furniture jam Cam. We're not seeing any issues or problems we have construction and willow grove at the turnpike interchange, south six eleven exit. You can't get on the turnpike from south south six eleven to one at the willow grove interchange. Additionally, exiting the turnpike. You cannot continue from the turnpike to go south on six eleven off to go north on six eleven now this overnight roadworks should be out of their next couple of minutes. But in the meantime, that's situation on the turnpike is self east west that looks okay. Other majors are all right. We get New Jersey check the forty two freeway northbound direction this is actually west seventy six destroyed. The Walt Whitman bridge the right lane is closed with overnight roadwork beyond that up and across Delaware river bridges. We're okay. Mass transit no reported delays. "Katie Fehlinger. The CVS three eyewitness weather center. Already some drizzle around this morning, Katie and who should get used to it. I would say so there are certainly wetter days than others Brennan, but we have a pesky front. Same one that brought the rain yesterday that is still trying to lift to the north and it will eventually do. So, but we do have a cold front in its wake. And there is limited break. There are limited breaks along the way here so today. Well, even if it's not raining, you're going to have a lot of clouds overhead. I would still keep your umbrella handy. There will still be a couple of showers around especially from the city on south throughout the daylight hours. But then that rain will over spread the Delaware valley the entire region, in fact later tonight and through the day tomorrow. So there's just a batch of moisture that's working along this front that's lifting north today's high a very fall lake sixty nine degrees will drop sixty four tonight. Then we spike it's a warm front. So it definitely gets warmer tomorrow up to seventy seven but still soggy day. Keep the rain gear ready. Come Wednesday that front will continue to work its way out of here. And we should catch a break. Expect to see some sunshine, a pretty decent spike on the thermometer up to eighty five degrees, but tail end of the day and that night comes a cold front. So there could be some showers or storms that develop along that. And it looks like those storms if they fire up could even be locally strong will lead to keep an eye on that land, we cool back off in the wake of the front on Thursday. I do think we start to clear back out just with some residual clouds. Come Friday good possibility. We see a couple of showers through with that front nearby south. But high pressure is going to settle in. So little teaser for the upcoming weekend at the moment that looks pretty good. We're going to keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way. Now currently broadcast center in spring garden. A hint of light rain still out there. It's dreary at sixty two. We're eventually going to hit sixty nine at best reporting live if your eye witness weather forecast, I'm CBS three meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger on KYW NewsRadio. KYW.

Return and for those who stayed behind their emergency supplies of fuel and food or being brought in while thousands of left of their flood flood-threatened homes here Meg Larson at her husband have stayed behind. What about their neighbors? They appear to have all left. So we may be out in the neighborhood. I don't know how why is find out some twelve hundred roads are closed by flooding and North Carolina, many more underwater and South Carolina and Virginia after hurricane Florence stuffed up to thirty four inches of rain. Jim Krasula, CBS news, Fayetteville North Carolina. The remnants of Florence bringing us some rain today the five day forecast now with meteorologist, Katie Fehlinger. The CBS three eyewitness weather center, and we're still waiting to full positive for frontal boundary. There will be a few localized downpours a couple of Trump's here until that front passes. But this front is doing us a favor it's sweeping away all of Florence's moisture. So even as early as the evening skies are starting to clear from northwest to southeast daytime highs in the low eighties, and we'll drop to a monkey sixty nine degrees from the city tonight. But by tomorrow, the humidity should be a lot more tolerable for you back to sunshine tomorrow up to eighty one and Thursday. "Forecast the CBS. Three, Meteo Theologists Katie Fehlinger looks like we're, just really in for, a hot hot steamy week which is part and parcel for August looks like, today could be. A little, rocky yeah that's that's. A good way to put it you know it's certainly unsettled we are still sitting in an active. Pattern here a couple, of fronts Carol trying to cross through in the next couple of days so that sets us. Up to see the possibility of sheriffs were thunderstorms again this afternoon especially in toward nightfall and then, again into tomorrow as well, but today interestingly no heat advisory posted but it is really close to the threshold. Needed for one to be issued so don't let that make you think that. It's going to be too much better here today it's certainly still very. Steamy, the high hits ninety three it may feel. As hot as nearer to a hundred and again there will be primarily son. Initially but just like yesterday these scattered and drenching localized showers and thunderstorms now later tonight it's more the same partly. Cloudy. With time but there, will be a few. Evening. Showers around. Dropping to a very muggy seventy seven tomorrow same idea some sun scattered showers Storms the high ninety. Two and we'll rounded out at ninety on Thursday by which point we're starting to clear out and see some, sun return it looks like a pretty. Decent day all in all as does Friday. With, some sun as well but will eighty nine. Degrees at, that point thankfully. The worst of the humidity eases up on us, but it looks as. Though we might see some showers developed tail end of Friday. I'd say still Thursday and Friday are pretty decent days Saturday some sun again and possibility, for a few showers or storms just a possibility right now. The high, of, eighty seven that currently, at our broadcast center in spring garden we're all clear and it is warm. Seventy seven already were eventually going to hit about ninety three reporting live with your eyewitness weather..

"Meteorologist Katie Fehlinger, good morning John. Well what it means is that we're about to embark upon yet, another unsettled, pattern here we've, already seen some. Rain move into our southern counties a pretty decent swath of. It through Kent Sussex now out toward Cape May, county so expect that you might need to haul to your outdoor plans at the beach at least for a short time there's a. Warm front that's lifting in here and just tropical, air that's going, to take. Over the region in the next couple of days so we are going to see off non rounds of rain. And thunderstorms come through each and every day of this forecast today. Though we started off at least with a little sub, but the clouds have certainly built already so the. High hits eighty. Three degrees today we'll. Eventually against you. Some showers almost anyone fair. Game for that as the afternoon progresses but we've already seen the, rain as we mentioned the. Southern counties Larry tonight tipping seventy. Tomorrow Wednesday and Thursday it's essentially, carbon copy forecast here where you got, clouds overhead if it's not raining and then showers and thunderstorms especially. PM hours each of those days? With steamier air starting to work its way in the high eighty Tomorrow we're up to eighty eight both Wednesday and Thursday a thing to keep in mind here too is that. We've obviously had a lotta rain as of late and ground is very saturated any rounds rain that come through heavily could lead, to localized flooding since the ground just can't handle it, it's not going to soak it up. As easily now again that's right through Thursday Friday as well looking unsettled showers, and thunderstorms pretty likely the high hitting eighty four so. We're in a holding pattern with unsettled weather again right the five, eighth correlate, our broadcast center, in spring garden. Though just a lot of clouds it's not raining yet seventy..

"Rain on the way we check in with Katie Fehlinger and then CBS three eyewitness weather center it's gotta be pretty heavy rain at times Yeah you, know it's already coming down very heavily at times here in, our area Brandon I. Even at my house got woken up in the middle of the night which is tough order when you. Work the hours we do we sleep pretty heavily so what we do have the right now is primarily the western half of the Delaware valley. Getting hit and it looks to me like that's going to, continue to be the theme where you see these rounds, of rain coming over the same, areas so there are bright spots to this. Forecast as a result the further east you are namely places like the shore the better off. You are today you might even end up almost completely dry even though. You'll have some clouds still rolling through wouldn't end up. Being the worst speech day, just keep in mind that the, rip current risk is still very high. If you do venture out here today out that way but back to the rain flash flood watches are overarching issue and we. Do still have flood? Advisories flash flood warnings that keep going in and out of effect where the heaviest. Fans of rain are coming through the current situation is that Newcastle county he's got the heaviest rain right now and there will be more on. The way so this is often on anytime The rest of the. Day right through tonight? Right through tomorrow and facts the high eighty five degrees to seventy two tonight and. You're up to eighty two tomorrow The good news is it's not a, dry, dry forecast from Thursday through. Saturday but it is a lot better you should be good to. See a lot more sunshine with the passage of time here Thursday then especially Friday and Saturday there may still. Be a spotty shower storm any of these days, and, it's also, hot with daytime highs. Flirting with her actually hitting the low nineties through that, span as well and currently at our broadcast center in spring garden very very. Muggy but still technically dry a lot of clouds out there though seventy eight degrees we'll hit eighty five with time and reporting live with your eyewitness weather forecast..

Young Americans are the loneliest, surprising study from Cigna shows

"To be a diplomatic manner and a new study finds eight eighteen people eighteen to thirty seven years of age are the loneliest people on the planet they claim to be a worse health than older generations so this is a study by cigna which is a global health service company they say generation z that's ages eighteen to twenty two and millennials ages twenty three to thirty seven makeup the loneliest group of people and the study revealed that social media used by itself is not the best indicator for measuring loneliness students they say they found our lonelier than retirees so little interesting study surprised by that by the way yeah i agree i think younger people now are all fobbing or whatever the hell it's called where they're always on their phones you gotta get out go for a walk i agree sad it's to fake girlfriend but don't tweet during the movie exactly that's the other thing too don't tweet don't tax big mindfully president for something so the other big story today is this hot hot august like weather coming our way let's check in now with meteorologist katie fehlinger and skies remain all clear heading toward the evening and through the overnight as well pretty mild out there overnight to only fifty eight the low far milder than it was this morning tomorrow we're back to sunshine a hot and still breezy day up to eighty five degrees i'm.

"In with katie fehlinger the eyewitness weather center and why katie those woods are really picking up they really are and that is going to serve the purpose to bring it some very harsh when shells certainly brandon but also really reduce your visibility so even snowfall totals aside anything that does fall to the ground is going to have the ease of being blown and drifted around because of these winds and they'll be pretty harsh for the next couple of hours with them peaking as high as forty plus miles per hour so in addition to the snow coming down you may end up with down tree limbs down power lines in a couple of spots two specially near the shore where you do have a blizzard warning posted until seven p m and the snow is still coming down at its heaviest certainly at the shore but pretty much everywhere so i'll we're still going to be in the thick of this for the next couple of hours as the core circulation bypasses are area release makes its closest pass but at with tied into the afternoon you'll gradually see that's no taper off completely from west to east and i would say it's pretty much done here in philly around one p m give or take iin terms of totals were still going with three to six inches here in philadelphia we may end up on the lower end of that unless a nice burst of a a snow ben comes in here budget the further south and go you've already how have a foot and will end up with six to ten inches locally higher in at that blizzard warnings zone now two day the highly hits twenty eight degrees it won't feel any better than the teens tonight drops down to eleven degrees the skies began to clear out and then both tomorrow and saturday may feel no better than zero degrees through the entire 48 hour timeframe and even despite the return of sunshine so it will be incredibly harsh is trying to remove some of the so come sunday at least the worst of the windies up the temperature hits 21 with some sun and wouldn't you know it just as were finally rebounding out of the freezing territory thirty six a high monday there could be a wintry mix that day that.

"To cbs three meteorologist katie fehlinger on the beautiful started the day here paulino are due points are beginning to creep up a little bit it'll be a little muggy bad for august standards nothing out of the ordinary here batches sunshine for the better part of the day and most of us do in fact stay dry but i i'm allowing at least for a spotty shower or thunderstorm to pop up especially south of the city and that will take place later this afternoon or evening the high hits eighty seven then tonight we talked to very warm just seventy four degree lull and that's a warm front begins to lift so we're back up to eighty nine tomorrow at warm front has more other legacy here of bringing in not just some moisture but some very oppressive humidity so there will be few showers if not a thunderstorm at comes along with the warm front then we await a cold front passage that happens later tomorrow afternoon not frighten especially if we get enough sunlight between fronts during the afternoon could bring in some pretty strong storms so we'll sit in a large don't risk of four severe weather at that point high eighty nine degrees at the timing of any of the strongest storms likely to happen into the mid to late afternoon toward early evening so just in line with rpm rush now the chance of lingering shower continues into early saturday but for the most part saturday really does brighten up nicely as skies clear out will hit 88 degrees sunday looks just beautiful new sunshine would hide five and by monday eclipse day it's looking good back to sunshine foreign yet another day with high pressure in place the high hits eighty seven so at this point out expecting at least very fair deal in conditions if not very good right now to broadcast center in spring garden bright blue sky and sunshine at 74 already will eventually hit eighty seven degrees reporting live if your eyewitness weather forecast i'm cbs.
