That's what Forbes her none other than Kathy Smith. She's been doing this health and wellness thing for almost forty years of focusing on. How does she keep herself? Amazingly fit and healthy. And how does she help people do that? We're talking about. She pioneered her first fitness video in nineteen, eighty, one and You'd be like a lot of people listening to the show. You never actually pushed a VCR tape into a VCR thing, and had this other little stripes at the bottom, because the heads were misaligned, and all that stuff I did when I was in high school. Well, yeah, that was the first fitness videos and CDs DVD's leader none of that crap, but she's been doing it for so much time more than twenty million of. It's an honor to have you back on bulletproof radio. Oh, it's always so much fun. You're my hero in so many ways because I feel this alignment with you because you're I'm turning sixty nine this year, and when I when I, when I was your age and younger I, you've heard the story before, but I lost my parents when I was late teens, and that sent me on my journey of fitness wellness, healing the mind pulling myself out of depression, and so many of the things that I hear you talk about. went through a lot of those stages at different You Know Com same time. You're maybe a little earlier including. Since I was a product of the seventies you know all of the mushrooms and the psychedelics, and all that that was kind of that was happening at that point, not medicinal marijuana, but actually the smoking, the marijuana, and all that time period of self-discovery Meditation, but most importantly for me, it was as you mentioned the fitness and I started running at you know just to run away from my pain and my anxiety, and my fear, and my depression and I found. This little gem of of. Course something called endorphins and everything else. That happens when you work out. That just helped me out of that period so. Really loving the journey. I'm still stuck on the fact. You said you were sixty nine sooner. Cathy, no human who sees you? Sixty nine yet right whatever. I have found that incredible amounts of Najd happened when I interview people who are around seventy and older. Because Hey, I'm late forties. So that means you've got another couple of decades of experience that I can draw from that. Our listeners can draw from and you clearly have the brain in the energy to be able to just say hey, look, this is what happened. I've seen this one before. and. What I WANNA know is given that you have this history vision, which is way more accurate than mine. What has changed in the fitness industry over those four decades. When you've really paid attention to it, so walk me through kind of the cycles that you've seen. Tell me where we are today. Definitely lemming, wrap my arms around us right now. First of all I want to just say one thing as far as technology, so you started with the introduction with the VCR's and the VHS is. Honestly before that in one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, eight was my very first product, and that was an exercise album. What if you could get access to all of the sleep stuff that I know stuff that I haven't put even in the blog yet..

"And we're back with Christian wild Kathy Smith as we talk about single parents and Kathy before we go to calls and Christian as well Kathy or the courts more lenient to men or women it's interesting usually two women that's what I thought yes and it's still prevails isn't over will mean pretty much there's still a huge prejudice against men in my opinion all right we're gonna go to some of the calls now let's go to Phoenix Phoenix is a television anchor person by the way and reporter in Texas and the single mother high Phoenix welcome to the show great so what what is it been like for you working full time and being a single mother yeah it is difficult yards right I really thought about the question yeah and the thing is it's finding but not right news round to work for in the industry for over ten years and I got it they at least when you stop and that now there's a lot of other parents out there about finding a place where people have your back meeting if I get called on breaking news which does happen I have no cheating you're always yes I have the only other people that are ready to step in and pick up my daughter and have my back and let me go do my job so it's finding the right working environment helps how how old is your daughter he is seven almost eight years old seven almost eight years old you're working if you're working full time right normal seventy your shots talked to a lot of women who are sharing information with other mothers who are in the same situation and making time for that person to spend a little quality time on their own because they're so exhausted from all that they're dealing with so maybe one parent will say let me take your kids for a night have a good time until next week maybe you could take my kids or a father who can take somebody else's child to a baseball game or who's missing their father and then they wouldn't the following week to do something else that Aaron's helping parents not support group in Phoenix you have a question for either Kathy Smith or Christian wild here not not really and by Hey I guess what kind of going off on what he said is not exactly right it's finding that correct the court system being here west there's no there near the incredibly more loving originally come from LA and people are more ego centric really in themselves here it is finding that person that's willing to take her and having a trade off though but I don't I don't know his name the last one is stopping you got the right it's finding that factory all right great thanks to Phoenix George I know this will touch your heart but mother or a father who has a child with a learning disorder or a special needs and the mother can't be with them when they're acting out or when the school calls and says come in take care of your child you saw the control and not being able to be there for your child because you're working that's got to be installed this pressure is tough I mean I mean I know why my my kids in Saint Louis with their kids will send me a text saying you know pop are you gonna be in Saint Louis for this date because little Charlie has a you know a concert or this or that in the it's so important to participate write him and what we're doing Kathy in terms of what you see does the single parent generally get some support at all from the other half usually very little the again it depends on the on your own childhood and what you expect you deserve and one of the things when you were just speaking like I totally agree with Phoenix and and both of you are that you need a strong support system and that's very very easy for people who have been nurtured properly in childhood but if you have reactive attachment disorder because your parents abandon you or yeah even today if the mother is feeding the baby while she's looking at her cell phone and she's not even holding the baby or look in the baby's eyes the baby develops abandonment issues and low self worth and I I was going to mention how destructive the technology really is because they're putting the baby in front of the TV the baby's following them love but the robot cartoon figure and getting their information and their love from that TV set or the phone and mommy gets mad if she's in the middle attacks in somebody and the baby need something you see so this is called good point reactive attachment disorder are there many many levels of it but the baby gets a real strong message are not important and those those single parents do not have the confidence to to another parent what happens to the child when they get older and they've gone through this difficult period of abandonment by the end and again we can talk later about the child that came up from a loving single parent sure but if they are raised and they just don't have that kind of love what happens to them as an adult they're nervous are they are under developed they do not actualize their talents a lot of drug addiction they get real hooked into these so called help groups there many by the way Christian mention this to me and I agree with him many helpful our support groups for single parents but there are also what you would just call real toxic I have a client who told her little girl she got mad she's I'm gonna kill you and once you ran on social media and posted at smart and took it off within ten minutes and then she got a call from C. P. S. Christian yeah well I can't be what about what about maintaining good strong family structure because some parents want to over compensate since because they feel guilty which is a big factor and how important is it for them to not ban to everything in order to help that child everything have more self confidence yes because you're talking about consistency but you're talking about a man or a woman who was raised by a mother like yours and what I deal with are kids who have pre tax are apparent single parents who who had had mothers who were crack.

I think we're gonna see a huge turn out here in mccone county. And you know, what's what's reason for that is because midterm, I don't know if it's just because people are anxious about other proposal on the ballot or just Royal rates. So you know, there's there's a lot of factors that can play under this year. We're going to see I I tend to think you're gonna see a lot of the dependence. So turn out to see a lot of the women's right out of frustration at the national level in your in some of the issues at the staple. So I I think it's going to be a huge turnout. I do believe probably this time you're gonna see favoring up. I'll be more the other democratic side of the ticket. And in terms of for for our listeners in terms of going forward, Kathy Smith, obviously the interim person handling all the clerk activities right now. What will the next steps going forward? Be. Well, it depends on who gets elected into that office. You know, whatever happens say it's a two year vision because they gotta run. For the normal cycle. So they're just running for this. I guess if you feel the two year remainder of that term so in two years ago to run again, and I could imagine whoever wins this is probably gonna have a challenge on the other side of the ticket. Once what's done with her two years. All right. County executive mccone county executive Mark Hackell, Mark. It's always good to have you on the air with us. She did talent made the movie, of course, there's a Kathy Smith or Maggie Smith excuse me caffeine, Jimmy. Great people. I think Harvey cartel was in the first sister act as her boyfriend. Isn't that weird? I remember I saw it. But it was a longtime. Yeah, you're right. He played boyfriend that hiding from. Yes. And they were in Reno together at the beginning of the booby. "We try to get the calls during the program sometimes difficult because we we do so many interviews with people to bring you the news and to cover all the news that's going on and a lot of it's going on on a mccomb county today there's news going on everywhere but in become county they've got a new permanent clerk the the circuit court judges decided yesterday who it should be that's the way it this done according to their charter and there's also a story about the police activity out there that we want to cover to the executive in mccomb county is markle the former sheriff as well and he's got enough to join us this morning karen spranger is gone and finally there is some settlement of the tumultuous top spot in the county clerk's office with the naming yesterday a brand new clerk kathy smith who was longtime employee of the county before getting this appointment at the at the top of the courts office marquette you've gotta be glad this filing over good morning franken it's been a it's been about fifteen months of a big challenge but i tell you what's up you know once the court made a decision in saint clair county you know about the the election law violation and the clerk was removed again karen the mmediately they being the circuit court appointed somebody for a very temporary period and that was katie and i tell you she was also a former employee and she did a great job i mean immediately we didn't see him where complaints concerns and caseloads dockets certificates everything were being issued the way they should have been so it was very smooth it was almost like two days later after i think settle down we haven't had a problem since so now now the judge has had to make a decision because katie just wanted to do a temporary ghetto who'd we put in there you know at least until.

"Gather separately i think there's been almost a complete denial baseball is changed at all when we got on the phone when someone from rawlings kathy smith stevens on this was the first time it heard them admit there is actually some manufacturing variation that occurs in the manufacturing these baseball's and so there there can be some natural variations that happens they also admitted that they continuously tweak or change the way that the baseball's are manufactured so they're not saying that the tweaks they make aren't going to change the way the baseball performs fact with the way they do them is specifically to minimize any change the performance the baseball according to what they said but i wondered whether it's possible that a few tiny tweaks they might have made independently wouldn't significantly impact the baseball up but together would would lead up to this omron search that we found so they they sort of admitted that it was possible that there were small changes but said that in total they haven't seen any evidence that the total performance at the baseball so again we house a sort of denial but i'm not complete outs outs what's going on and what we found so i thought it was interesting for boats rawlings and mlb that were were making a little bit of progress in that were sort of getting them to at least admit that the baseball's could have changed and made either were tweets the manufacturing process so we're we're not getting to the point where they're actually saying yes the base while they're different but there is some evidence that at least there may have been slight tweaks in the way that the baseball strike clearly they're taking the issue more seriously are the least looking into it although they've denied in the past that there's any meaningful difference in the ball it seems as if you know we've heard not only this task force that they've commission to look into it in greater detail but also may be you know storing the baseball's in climatecontroled rooms this year and possibly puma doors and every park in future seasons so it does seem as if they are monitoring this sort of thing and and looking into it more deeply and i don't know whether will ever.
